TODAY'S TOP STORY
The Golden Mug Shot

This week was brimming with firsts. The first time a former president was booked in jail, the first time a former President had a mug shot taken, and the first time a former President used his mugshot to sell T-shirts.

It was also the first time former President Donald Trump posted on a social media platform owned by fellow billionaire Elon Musk.

President Trump’s surrendering to Fulton County authorities at the notorious Atlanta jail electrified, strangely, both sides of the aisle. On the left, it perhaps redressed some of the lingering trauma of the Trump presidency. On the right, it galvanized disdain for the political establishment.

“What has taken place here is a travesty of justice, we did nothing wrong, I did nothing wrong. And everybody knows it,” President Trump told the media at the Atlanta airport upon leaving the jailhouse.

The 20 minutes he spent getting his fingerprints and a picture taken are likely to pay off mightily in fundraising.

We don’t know how long President Trump pondered his mug shot look, but it’s clear he was resolved to campaign on it. T-shirts sporting the shot went on sale immediately upon its release and the former president even featured it in his first post on X—formerly known as Twitter—in more than two years.

“Election interference. Never surrender!” the post blasted in all caps, as per the author’s convention. The post garnered over 185 million views in less than 24 hours. (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

- Lord God, this indeed may turn out to be "the (mug) shot heard around the world!" We ask that You would cause good to come from this evil episode in the life of Donald John Trump, and in the life of our country. We thank You, O Lord that Your Word stands TRUE and does not lie, and that you WILL turn this tragedy to GOOD, in Your mighty name, amen and amen!

- "And we know [with great confidence] that God [who is deeply concerned about us] causes all things to work together [as a plan] for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His plan and purpose." (Romans 8:28 AMP)

'Not a Comfortable Feeling': Trump Details 'Terrible Experience' of Being Booked Into Fulton County Jail

Former President Donald Trump has detailed his "terrible experience" of being booked into the Fulton County Jail in Atlanta, Georgia, on Aug. 24 after surrendering himself to authorities following his indictment on racketeering and conspiracy charges.

President Trump, 77, handed himself over to authorities in Georgia at around 7:36 p.m. local time and was released on a $200,000 bond roughly 20 minutes later.

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, who brought the indictment against President Trump and 18 of his associates, had given those charged until noon on Aug. 25 to hand themselves over or risk arrest.

During his time being processed at the jail, President Trump had his fingerprints and mugshot taken—something he insists he had never ever heard of before stepping foot in the jail.

It was a "terrible experience" according to the Republican 2024 White House candidate.

"I went through an experience that I never thought I’d have to go through, but then I’ve gone through the same experience three other times. In my whole life, I didn’t know anything about indictments. And now I’ve been indicted, like, four times,"  he told Newsmax.

"Everything is just like one thing after the next. What they want to do is they want to try and wear you out which they would never do," he continued, adding that he had "never heard the words mug shot" prior to Thursday because "they didn't teach me that at the Wharton School of Finance."

'Very Sad Day for Our Country'

Despite the "terrible experience" of being booked into jail, President Trump insisted he was treated "very nicely" during the booking process but still called it a "very sad experience" and a "very sad day for our country."

"This is a weaponized Justice Department," he added.

- Father God, our hearts go out to President Trump in his hour of need. This entire scenario is a travesty upon our people, and upon this great nation. We thank You, O Lord, that we have not yet seen the end of this process; but that, in the end, our President  WILL be found innocent of all charges being held against him, and his accusers will be brought to justice. Help us all, O Lord, to continue to keep our trust in You; for You are the rock of our salvation. In Your Name, amen and amen.

- "Thus says the Lord: ‘Keep justice, and do righteousness, For My salvation is about to come, And My righteousness to be revealed’" (Isaiah 56:1)

Tornadoes touch down in Michigan; 5 dead after severe storms cause flooding, power outages, damage
Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer declared a state of emergency in Monroe and Wayne counties Friday

Severe storms battered Michigan this week, leaving five people dead as a number of tornadoes touched down in the state Thursday, authorities said.

An EF-1 tornado with speeds of 90 mph crossed Ingham County’s Interstate 96 Thursday evening, the National Weather Service confirmed, leaving one person dead, several seriously injured and, more than two dozen cars damaged, FOX Weather reported.

Four other EF-1 tornadoes were reported in Bellville and Gibraltar in Wayne County, and in South Rockwood and near Newport in Monroe County.

On Friday, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer declared a state of emergency in Monroe and Wayne, making additional resources available to the hard-hit areas.

"Apparently, these storms have become our new normal," Public Works Commissioner Candice Miller said. "This has been like a tropical storm, and both government and residents will need to make appropriate preparations whenever possible."

More than 460,000 were left without power in the state as of Friday afternoon along with more than 218,000 in neighboring Ohio. An EF-1 tornado moved through Cleveland, Ohio Thursday night, leaving several buildings damaged, including the 143-year-old New Life at Calvary Church.

1. Netanyahu threatens Hamas leader who is blamed for attacks - Israel National News

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu this morning (Sunday) threatened the deputy leader of Hamas' political bureau and the head of its military wing in Judea and Samaria, Saleh al-Arouri.

"I heard the verbiage by the senior Hamas official Arouri, from his hiding place in Lebanon. He knows very well why he and his colleagues are in hiding," Netanyahu said at the beginning of the weekly cabinet meeting.

"Hamas, and the other Iranian proxies, understand very well that we will fight with all means against their attempts to use terrorism against us – in Judea and Samaria, Gaza and everywhere else. Whoever tries to hurt us, whoever finances and organizes, whoever dispatches terrorists against Israel – will pay the full price," he said. (Read more)

Three police officers and several Palestinians were lightly injured on Friday as clashes broke out at the entrance to the Temple Mount complex in Jerusalem ahead of Muslim Friday prayers at the site, police and Palestinian media reports said.

According to a police statement, Palestinians began throwing rocks at police and Border Police by the Old City’s Lions’ Gate after a man undergoing a security check refused to cooperate.

Asked about a potential Saudi-US-Israelideal at a Q&A session following a speech in Singapore, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani said that Qatar’s position on any such agreement has remained consistent for years.

“We didn’t hear anything officially about any talks on Saudi-Israel, but at the end of the day, Qatar maintains the same position, that foreign policy decisions of each member states of the GCC — it’s based on their own assessment, on their own evaluation,” said Al-Thani, referring to the Gulf Cooperation Council, a body which also includes Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates, who established diplomatic ties with Israel in 2020 under the Abraham Accords. 1. ‘Travesty of Justice’: Arraigned in Georgia, Trump Pleads Not Guilty to RICO Charges - Daily Signal

Former President Donald Trump called the Georgia charges against him a “travesty of justice” and “election interference” after getting his mug shot taken Thursday evening at an Atlanta-area jail, where he and allies face charges of conspiracy in trying to change the outcome of the 2020 presidential election.

Trump and 18 alleged co-conspirators were named in the 41-count state indictment that Fulton County, Georgia, District Attorney Fani Willis secured from a grand jury.

The 98-page indictment says Trump and the 18 others “knowingly and willfully joined a conspiracy to unlawfully change the outcome of the election in favor of Donald Trump.”

Trump spoke briefly to the media before reboarding his plane.

“You should be able to challenge an election. I thought the election was a rigged election, a stolen election, and I should have every right to do that.” (Read more here)

- Lord, we pray over these events surrounding the Georgia charges against President Trump. We pray Your kingdom come, Your will be done over all these attacks and charges. You know all the strategies being played and the deception done in secret. May all backfire on those who are devising these evil plans.

- “No weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and this is their vindication from me,” declares the Lord." (Isaiah 54:17)

2. House GOP investigating whether Fulton County district attorney coordinated with DOJ in Trump indictment - Washington Examiner

The House Judiciary Committee is launching an investigation into Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, demanding the prosecutor turn over key information detailing the criminal indictment of former President Donald Trump over his efforts to overturn the 2020 election.

In a letter sent by Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) on Thursday, the committee leader accused Willis of using the 41-count indictment to interfere with the presidential election, of which Trump is the current GOP front-runner. The request for information comes just hours before Trump is expected to surrender himself to Fulton County officials for his arraignment in the case.

“Your indictment and prosecution implicate substantial federal interests, and the circumstances surrounding your actions raise serious concerns about whether they are politically motivated,” Jordan wrote. “Given the weighty federal interests at stake, the Committee is conducting oversight of this matter to determine whether any legislative reforms are appropriate or necessary.” (Read more)

- Father, reveal all truth regarding the DOJ, and the Fulton County District Attorney over their actions against President Trump. We pray confusion and that all plans being brought forth will fail.

3. Maryland Muslim and Christian parents vow to appeal pro-LGBT book court ruling - Washington Examiner

A coalition of Muslim and Christian parents vowed to appeal a Thursday court ruling that denied their request for the restoration of a parental opt-out option for LGBT storybooks in a Maryland school district.

The group of parents had sued Montgomery County Public Schools earlier this year after the school district stopped notifying parents of a series of LGBT-themed storybooks in classroom instruction and forbade parents from opting out of it, a change from previous district policy. The parents alleged that the lack of an opt-out option forced them to violate their religious beliefs by allowing their children to be exposed to material that did not conform to their religious practices.

The coalition is represented by the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty, which vowed to appeal the ruling in a statement.

"The School Board’s decision to cut parents out of these discussions flies in the face of parental freedom, childhood innocence, and basic human decency," Eric Baxter, Becket Fund vice president and senior counsel, said in a statement. "The court’s decision is an assault on children’s right to be guided by their parents on complex and sensitive issues regarding human sexuality. The School Board should let kids be kids and let parents decide how and when to best educate their own children consistent with their religious beliefs.”

While not a party of the case, the Council on American-Islamic Relations issued a statement vowing to support continued efforts to restore the parental opt-out, saying, "The campaign to protect the rights of parents and children in Montgomery County Public Schools is just beginning." (Read more)

- Lord, grant success to these parents who want to protect their religious beliefs with their children and not expose them to LGBT storybooks without their permission.

- "Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality," (Galatians 5:19)

4. South Carolina Supreme Court Upholds 'Heartbeat Law', Six week Pro-life Protections - Live Action

South Carolina's Supreme Court upheld the state's law protecting preborn children from abortion beginning at six weeks in a 4-1 decision on Wednesday. The law will take effect immediately.

Senate Bill 474, the "Fetal Heartbeat and Protection from Abortion Act," prohibits abortion once a preborn child's heartbeat can be detected. The heart first begins to beat at about 16-21 days post-fertilization but can not typically be detected by ultrasound until the preborn child is a six-week embryo. The law includes exceptions for the life or health of the mother, medical emergencies, and fatal fetal diagnosis, and allows babies to be killed by abortion up to 12 weeks of pregnancy if they were conceived in rape or incest. Induced abortion is never medically necessary because a baby never has to be intentionally killed prior to delivery in order to end a pregnancy. Preterm delivery for health reasons and medical emergencies, as well as surgery for ectopic pregnancies, are not legally considered abortions.

Justice John Kittredge, writing for the majority, said that the pro-life law "infringes on a woman's right of privacy and bodily autonomy," but said that "virtually every law operates in some manner to limit a person's privacy." He also wrote that the woman's right to privacy does not outweigh "the interest of the unborn child to live." (Read more)

- Thank You Lord for this "Heartbeat Law" being upheld. We thank You for this victory, in Jesus name.

- "With God we shall do valiantly; it is he who will tread down our foes."             (Psalm 108:13)

5.  FBI on Frontline in Fight Against CCP’s Covert War on US
- The Epoch Times

Forty Chinese officers, a retired NYPD sergeant, two Navy sailors-turned-spies, and two minders of a secret Chinese police station in New York. These cases, and others, feed an ever-growing list of FBI investigations as the agency zeroes in on combating Chinese espionage operations, an arena it has branded its “top counterintelligence priority."

“Our adversaries’ targets are our nation’s core economic assets—our information and ideas, our innovation, our research and development, our technology,” an FBI spokesperson told The Epoch Times.

"No country poses a broader, more severe threat to those assets than China." Casey Fleming, CEO of the BlackOps Partners Corporation, said the CCP will do “anything to weaken our society. The level of the Chinese Communist Party's espionage and influence and subversion is beyond most people's comprehension," he told The Epoch Times. (Read more)

- We pray wisdom for the FBI as they seek to combat Chinese espionage operations against the US. Give them strategies to outwit China.

- "And the Lord said to Joshua, “Do not fear them, for I have given them into your hands. Not a man of them shall stand before you.” (Joshua 10:8)

6. Report from PakistanTransformationPrayerFoundation.org

God is answering our prayers for Pakistan in some encouraging ways! In response to 25 churches and the homes of 80 Christian families being vandalized or burnt on Wednesday by enraged Muslim rioters, other churches in the country are now rallying to provide relief help. This outrageous attack seems to have catalyzed greater unity in prayer and solidarity among Jesus followers who are a small minority amongst the vast Muslim majority. In addition, a leading government official in that region has committed to help restore church buildings and houses that were damaged. Praise God!

Remarkably, a pastor friend who has been visiting the affected pastors, churches, and families said he was surprised to hear that in one place a local Muslim leader invited 200 local Christians into his home to protect them. He gave them food and shelter during that threatening time. Also, over 300 young men surrounded and protected that village and its churches from the mob of angry rioters. Another well known Muslim cleric apologized, saying how ashamed the people of his religion are for what happened and asking forgiveness publicly. Thank God for these decent, compassionate human beings who so kindly intervened and have spoken out condemning what happened!

The Lord seems to be turning this evil into good as many of us have been praying. Only He can do such things, so let’s continue to pray that full restoration of what was damaged or destroyed will be provided to those who have suffered. Pray too that they, especially the children, will be healed of any trauma suffered and that all the Jesus followers will be empowered with increased love and boldness to bear witness for Him more than ever before. As a result, may many in that spiritually challenging country, so full of unreached people groups, come to know the Lord!

- "And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose." (Romans 8:28)

7. Nigerian court affirms right to convert from Islam to Christianity - Christian Post

A court in northern Nigeria has granted a court order protecting an 18-year-old Christian convert from threats to her life by family members, a ruling that emphasizes the fundamental right to change religion, in this case, from Islam to Christianity.

Mary Olowe, not her real name, faced death threats from her father and brothers after converting to Christianity. Her mother helped her escape to safety in a Christian community before seeking legal protection through a restraining order.

According to the human rights group ADF International, a high court in Nigeria granted an order of perpetual injunction against her father and brothers.

"[T]he defendants are hereby restrained from threat and attempt on the life of the applicant following her decision to change from the practice of Islam to Christianity and also not to breach her fundamental rights as to the choice of her religion or thoughts," the order states.

No appeals were filed against the order. (Read more)

- We pray favor and protection upon this woman. Keep her safe from her enemies as she devotes her life to Christianity.

- "But the Lord is faithful. He will establish you and guard you against the evil one." (2 Thessalonians 3:3)

8. Niger junta expels French ambassador - Reuters

NIAMEY, Aug 25 (Reuters) - Niger's junta, which seized power in a coup on July 26, said on Friday it had ordered French ambassador Sylvain Itte to leave the country within 48 hours, as relations between the West African country and its former colonial ruler deteriorated further.

Like recent coups in neighbouring Burkina Faso and Mali, the military takeover in Niger came amid a growing wave of anti-French sentiment, with some locals accusing the European country of interfering in their affairs.

In a statement, the junta-appointed foreign ministry said the decision to expel the ambassador was a response to actions taken by the French government that were "contrary to the interests of Niger." It said these included the envoy's refusal to respond to an invitation to meet Niger's new foreign minister.

The French foreign ministry did not immediately reply to a request for comment.

Niger has strategic significance as one of the world's biggest producers of uranium and as a base for French, U.S. and other foreign troops that are helping to fight Islamist militant groups in the region.  (Read more)

- Father God, we coninue to watch the events that are unfolding in Niger with concern. Lord God, we ask that You would soften angry hearts in that land, and cause there to be peace among these people. We commend Niger to You, O Lord, amen and amen.

- "For the kingdom is the Lord’s,
And He rules over the nations."

(Psalm 22:28)

Final Days of Commanding the Foreword
Here’s the latest map of counties that have been prayed over and anointed:
Editor's note:

We wish to thank all of our own prayer partners who have "caught the vision" over these past summer months and who had gone forth to paint the borders of your own cities, states and regions, to secure our land as we "paint it forward." May our work now be blessed by the hand of our Lord, as we move into the next season together. Shalom!
We reported on how intercessors are fulfilling the commission by Dutch Sheets and Gina Gholston to command the foreword, and after it posted I reached out to Pam in Georgia, who has been tracking which county lines have been anointed in the 50 states, through www.GiveHim15.com/groups. I asked her if she had an estimate of how close we are to finishing the assignment. Her response came swiftly, in the form of a map and a list of some border counties that still need to be covered.

I pray this has given you some ideas for how you can command the foreword. Consider sharing this post with anyone who is near the border counties that have yet to be anointed! Georgianna Buhler, the Alaska state prayer leader, says she would appreciate prayer “for strategies to deal with the vastness of Alaska’s borders and geographic diversity.”

Let’s pray that we can finish the assignment!

Dave Kubal, President and CEO
Intercessors for America

Lord, thank You for the many ways your people are commanding the foreword from coast to coast, declaring our founding documents to You Who inspired them! Help us finish the task! Hear our prayers for protection, healing, and revival!

(Prayer offered by IFA)
- Father God, we are excited to see how many of our counties have already been covered and secured by Your Blood, as we re-establish our covenenant
alignments across this great nation. We commend to You the remaining geographic areas that have yet to be included in this mission, and we thank You for the
work that IFA has done in documenting this data for us. We now call forth others who can yet finish this assignment, knowing that Your own hand of blessing and
protection will rest upon each one. In Your Holy name, Abba, we offer this prayer, amen and amen!

- "I am convinced and confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will [continue to] perfect and complete it until the day of Christ Jesus [the time of His return]." (Philippians 1:6 AMP)
US warns Israel not to ‘misread situation’ on potential for Saudi deal — report

US officials stressed to Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer during a recent visit that Israel will have to make far-reaching concessions to the Palestinians to secure a normalization agreement with Saudi Arabia, according to a Friday report.

The Axios report, which cited current and former US officials, said US Secretary of State Antony Blinken told Dermer that Israel is “misreading the situation” if it does not believe significant gestures to the Palestinians are necessary to assuage the Saudis, who he said will need to demonstrate tangible results to other Arab and Muslim countries if they are to make a deal with Israel.

The current hardline Israeli government is expected to resist any such concessions, though Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu views normalization with Riyadh as a key foreign policy goal. (Times of Israel) Read more.

-  Abba, we understand that Netanyahu wants normalized relations with Saudi Arabia. We pray that there would be NO CONCESSIONS to Palestinians to reach this goal! Abba, the terrorist attacks coming from Palestinian terrorists are out of control! Hurawa and Nablus, in the biblical heartland, these entire communities have become strongholds and sanctuaries for terrorists who are murdering the Jews. Abba, may Netanyahu make NO CONCESSIONS to the Palestinians. May the terror threat be PUSHED BACK and SQUASHED in Yeshua's name!

- "Do not be a terror to me;
You are my hope in the day of doom.
Let them be ashamed who persecute me,
But do not let me be put to shame;
Let them be dismayed,
But do not let me be dismayed.
Bring on them the day of doom,
And destroy them with double destruction!
 " (Jeremiah 17: 17-18)

What's rarer than a blue moon? A super blue moon —
And it's happening this week

A "once in a blue moon" occurrence will actually happen on Wednesday, August 30th and it's set to be an especially rare celestial spectacle: a super blue moon.

Anyone with a clear view of the moon that night will see a slightly brighter and bigger full moon than normal − that's the "super" part of the title.

The "blue" designation doesn't have anything to do with its appearance, however. That just means it's the second full moon in the month.

The two things don't occur simultaneously very often. NASA says it happens about every 10 years, when the second full moon in a month is closet to Earth in its orbit.

NASA says the next super blue moons won't occur for another 14 years, when a pair will grace the night sky in January and March 2037.

When is the super blue moon?

The super blue moon will be visible Wednesday, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. At 9:36 p.m. EDT, it will reach its peak. Read More

"Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior. In Your Name."

Scripture: Praise the Lord, O my soul. Psalm 146:1

Lyrics:
When peace, like a river,
Attendeth my way,
When sorrows like sea billows roll;
Whatever my lot,
Thou has taught me to say,
It is well, it is well, with my soul.

Refrain
It is well, with my soul,
It is well, with my soul,
It is well, it is well, with my soul.

Though Satan should buffet,
Though trials should come,
Let this blest assurance control,
That Christ has regarded
My helpless estate,
And hath shed His own blood for my soul.

Refrain

My sin—oh, the bliss of
This glorious thought—
My sin—not in part but the whole,
Is nailed to the cross,
And I bear it no more,
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul!

Refrain

For me, be it Christ,
Be it Christ hence to live:
If Jordan above me shall roll,
No pang shall be mine,
For in death as in life
Thou wilt whisper Thy peace to my soul.

Refrain

But, Lord, ‘tis for Thee,
Tor Thy coming we wait,
The sky, not the grave, is our goal;
Oh trump of the angel!
Oh voice of the Lord!
Blessèd hope, blessèd rest of my soul!

Refrain

And Lord, haste the day
When my faith shall be sight,
The clouds be rolled back as a scroll;
The trump shall resound,
And the Lord shall descend,
Even so—it is well with my soul.
