Israel kills Hezbollah mastermind behind Majdal Shams attack, 1983 Beirut bombing

An airstrike by the Israeli Air Force in Beirut on Tuesday night killed a top Hezbollah commander responsible for Saturday’s rocket barrage that killed 12 children in the Golan Heights, as well as a 1983 bombing that killed 241 U.S. troops in Beirut, the Israeli military confirmed.
The attack targeted Fuad Shukr, a senior member of Hezbollah’s Jihad Council, which is subordinate to the Shura Council and is under the direct control of terrorist leader Hassan Nasrallah, the IDF said.
“Today, July 30, 2024, in a targeted, intelligence-based elimination, Israeli Air Force fighter jets eliminated the Hezbollah terrorist organization’s most senior military commander and the head of its Strategic Unit, Fuad Shukr,” the military announced in a statement.
Shukr “directed Hezbollah’s attacks on the State of Israel since Oct. 8, and was the commander responsible for the murder of the 12 children in Majdal Shams in northern Israel on Saturday evening, as well as the killing of numerous Israelis and foreign nationals,” the IDF added.
Shukr, also known as al-Hajj Mohsin, served as a senior “military” adviser to Nasrallah and played a central role in the planning and execution of the U.S. Marine Corps Barracks bombing on Oct. 23, 1983, in the Lebanese capital, which killed 241 U.S. service personnel. (Read more here)

US will help Israel defend itself in Lebanon war, Austin says

“We remain concerned about the potential of this escalating into a full fight. And I don't believe that a fight is inevitable,” US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said.

The United States would help Israel defend itself should a full-scale war break out with Lebanon, the country’s Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin told reporters in the Philippines as Lebanon braced for an IDF counterstrike.
“We remain concerned about the potential of this escalating into a full fight. And I don't believe that a fight is inevitable,” Austin said.
He spoke as the almost ten months of IDF-Hezbollah cross violence threaten to escape into a third Lebanon war following a Hezbollah strike that killed an Israeli on Tuesday and 12 Druze children on Saturday.
The international community, led by the US and France has scrambled to contain the situation, as they pushed for a diplomatic resolution.
“I think that you know, we'd like to see things resolved in a diplomatic fashion,” he said, ducking a question about whether Israel could manage a full-out war with Lebanon as it battled Hamas in Gaza.
“Israel will do what it needs to defend itself. And it's demonstrated that you know, time and again. “Certainly that's not a scenario that we'd like to see occur,” Austin said.

Congress: US military not prepared to face Russia, China

According to a US congressional report, the United States lacks sufficient forces to simultaneously confront Russia and China.
|

The American website Breaking Defense reported that, according to the U.S. Congressional report, the United States needs to expand its military industry and acquire more aircraft, ships, and submarines. The website states that the Pentagon's current national defense strategy is outdated, the U.S. military is inadequately structured, and the American industrial base is insufficient to address the dual threat of Russia and China, according to a new, powerful formal review.
"The U.S. public are largely unaware of the dangers the United States faces or the costs (financial and otherwise) required to adequately prepare" for a global conflict, reads an early page from the final report of the Commission on the National Defense Strategy, published today. "A bipartisan 'call to arms' is urgently needed so that the United States can make the major changes and significant investments now rather than wait for the next Pearl Harbor or 9/11. The support and resolve of the American public are indispensable."
According to Breaking Defense, the commission was established by the National Defense Authorization Act of 2022 to review that year's national defense strategy. Beyond presenting a troubling picture of America's national security, the 114-page report offers several recommendations for policymakers in the White House, strategists at the Pentagon, and legislators—primarily advocating for an aggressive approach. The boldest suggestion is a call for the creation of a "multi-domain force" to address the current "outdated" version.
"The Commission believes the United States needs a force-planning approach that is both global and prioritized. … An exclusive focus on a single adversary or single region, as some have suggested, is a fundamentally flawed response to the global nature of challenges posed by such adversaries as China and Russia and to the growing cooperation between adversaries across regions," the report stated. "That said, the United States' force-planning approach must be prioritized to effectively and efficiently allocate finite resources, address threats of varying scope and scale, and ensure a mix of U.S. instruments of national power that are tailored to specific strategic objectives." - Abba, this article is very scary from our human perspective, but not from Your perspective. Lord, we ask You to release Your warrior angels to create a boundary all around our nation, send them to block any form of attack; land, sea, or air. Direct them to intercept plans of the enemy to release demonic forces against us. Father God, dispatch legions of warrior angels into nations that intend to overthrow our government, reveal evil intentions towards us and prepare our military to respond using Your supernatural guidance.

Trump told Fox News host Laura Ingraham that Democrats participated in a "coup" by replacing Biden at the top of the 2024 ticket with Vice President Kamala Harris months after millions of primary voters cast their ballots.
"They took the presidency away. His wife didn't want it to happen. They took the presidency away like he was a child," he told Ingraham.
Ingraham asked Trump who’s running the country while Harris hits the campaign trail and President Biden faces concerns about his mental acuity.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu gave an address on Wednesday evening about the elimination of Hezbollah military commander Fuad Shukr.
"Since the onset of the war, I made it clear that we are in a struggle against Iran's axis of evil. It is an existential war against a death noose of Iran's terrorist armies and missiles which is trying to tighten around our neck. In my address to Congress, I mentioned three arms of the axis of evil: Hamas, the Houthis, and Hezbollah. In recent days, we delivered crushing blows on each one of them. Three weeks ago, we attacked Hamas's military commander, two weeks ago, we attacked the Houthis in one of the Air Force's furthest stikes, and yesterday, we attacked the Hezbollah military commander known as Muhsan," Netanyahu stated.

He is at it again. As the situation in the Middle East continues to deteriorate amid Israel’s war against Hamas in Gaza and the growing threat of war in the North against Hezbollah, Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has thrown his hat into the ring.
Erdogan suggested on Sunday that Turkey might enter Israel as it had done in the past in conflicts in Libya and Nagorno-Karabakh. However, the president was careful not to specify the type of intervention he was suggesting.
Erdogan, who has been a fierce critic of Israel’s military campaign in Gaza to destroy Hamas, started discussing that war during a speech praising his country’s defense industry. (Read more)

3. Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh killed in Tehran -JNS
The chairman of Hamas’s political bureau was killed in Iran early on Wednesday morning, according to Iranian government sources and Hamas.
Ismail Haniyeh and one of his bodyguards were reportedly killed by a missile in his Tehran guest house at 2 a.m. local time. The Hamas leader was in Iran for the inauguration of President Masoud Pezeshkian.
Haniyah was staying at a special residence for war veterans in the north of the capital, “when he was martyred by an air-launched missile,” according to the semi-official Farsnews agency.
An Iranian source told the Lebanese Al-Mayadeen network, which is affiliated with Hezbollah, that the strike “was carried out by means of a missile launched from country to country, not from within Iran.” (Read more)

Israel’s Shin Bet security agency has decided to increase the security of the Israeli delegation at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris following the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh early Wednesday morning in Iran and the killing of senior Hezbollah commander Fuad Shukr in Lebanon the prior night.
Ynet reported on Wednesday that additional security guards were added to the Shin Bet’s personnel and security unit protecting Israeli athletes, coaches, and staff staying in the Olympic Village and elsewhere in Paris. Members of the Olympic delegation have received increased safety instructions and local French security forces helping to protect the Israeli delegation have also boosted their security personnel.

The Israel Defense Forces announced that they carried out a strike in Beirut on Tuesday, targeting the commander accused of orchestrating the recent attack on a children's soccer field. In a post on X, the IDF said its forces "carried out a targeted strike in Beirut, on the commander responsible for the murder of the children in Majdal Shams and the killing of numerous additional Israeli civilians."
"At the moment, there are no changes in the Home Front Command defensive guidelines. If any changes will be made, an update will be released. Details to follow," the post said.
"Hezbollah crossed the red line," Israeli Minister of Defense Yoav Gallant wrote on X.

The U.S. national debt exceeded $35 trillion for the first time on Monday. It first exceeded $34 trillion 209 days ago.
Adding another trillion to the debt in 209 days is actually a slightly slower pace than previous trillions. It took 111 days to go from $33 trillion to $34 trillion, and 93 days to go from $32 trillion to $33 trillion.
It took 192 years, from 1789 to 1981, to accumulate the first trillion dollars of national debt. (Read more)

3. Protests erupt in Venezuela as questions grow over strongman Maduro’s victory - CNN
Protests broke out in several Venezuelan cities on Monday after authoritarian leader Nicolás Maduro was formally declared a winner by the county’s electoral authority in a presidential race marred by accusations of electoral fraud.
In the capital Caracas, security forces deployed tear gas to disperse a large crowd of protesters, while crowds of people were seen walking down a main road banging pots and pans as anger rose over Maduro’s victory on Sunday. PROVEA, a Venezuelan human rights organization, said pro-Maduro armed groups shot at peaceful demonstrators in Avenue Urdaneta.
Protests were also reported in other cities, including Maracay, where opposition activist Esthefania Natera told CNN that people were on the streets “to yell and demand to tell the truth because we know the real results.” In the coastal state of Falcón, demonstrators toppled a statue of Maduro, video on social media showed. During her 2020 presidential campaign, Vice President Kamala Harris pledged that she would work to keep transgender criminals out of jail, archived campaign materials reviewed by The Daily Wire reveal.
Harris’ now-inactive campaign websiteclaims that “the LGBTQ+ community is exposed to higher rates of violence and assault in prison, and it is even more so with transgender individuals.” Harris, it says, would work as president to “reduce incarceration of LGBTQ+ individuals.”
“Kamala understands the best way to address the issue is to seek alternatives to incarceration to prevent trans individuals from being incarcerated in the first place,” the site reads. “Kamala would also push to significantly reform our sentencing laws to further reduce sentences.” Now the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, Harris has come under fire for walking back several extreme positions she took in 2020. 5. Kari Lake Scores Big Primary Victory, Calls Opponent 'A Man of Great Character' - Western Journalism
Kari Lake won a resounding victory Tuesday in Arizona’s Republican Senate primary.
With 86 percent of the votes in, Lake was declared the winner as she led Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb 54.4 percent to 39.8 percent, according to NBC. Elizabeth Reye finished third with 5.8 percent of the vote.
Lake — a staunch supporter for former President Donald Trump — will now face Democratic Rep. Ruben Gallego in November.The seat is currently held by Kyrsten Sinema, who was elected as a Democrat and later switched to an independent after disenchantment with the Democratic agenda in Washington.
“This is not a battle between Democrats and Republicans. This is a battle between good and evil,” Lake said Tuesday after she was projected to win the race, according to NBC. (Read more)

6. Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh killed in Tehran by Israeli airstrike as Iran’s supreme leader vows revenge, terror group says - New York Post
Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh was killed in Iran by what the terror group said was an airstrike carried out by Israel early Wednesday as Iran’s supreme leader has vowed revenge. Haniyeh, who was one of Hamas’ most senior officials, was in Tehran to attend the inauguration ceremony of Iran’s new president when he was killed, Iran’s Revolutionary Guard announced.
The Revolutionary Guard did not comment on who killed Haniyeh or how, but Hamas pointed the finger at Israel, stating that its leader was killed “in a Zionist airstrike on his residence in Tehran after he participated in the inauguration of Iran’s new president.”
So far, no one has come forward to claim responsibility for the killing, though Israel has vowed to eliminate Haniyeh and other Hamas leaders following the terror group’s Oct. 7 attack on the Jewish state in which 1,200 people were slaughtered and 250 were kidnapped. (Read more)

Stupidocrisy: An Olympic-sized non-apology

The France Olympics opened on July 26 with a blasphemous presentation of Leonardo Da Vinci’s “Last Supper” where transgenders, drag queens and homosexuals played the roles of Jesus and his 12 disciples. It was perverted, disgusting and had no place in the Olympics or any other venue. It was so offensive that Christians around the world stepped up and expressed their disgust. Thomas Jolly, the homosexual “artistic director” who put the whole thing together, told media that “We wanted to talk about diversity. Diversity means being together. We wanted to include everyone, as simple as that.” Maude Le Pladec, the choreographer, told Variety that they “hadn’t imagined what happened with the rise of the far right.”
So here you have the dynamics. These people wanted to show diversity. They chose to blaspheme one of the most sacred moments in Biblical history before the world. The French Olympic Organizing Committee went along with it. The world was repulsed. The homosexual advocates that put this despicable act together blame the world’s reaction on the “far right.” French President Emmanuel Macron said it was “creative genius” and thanked the artists for “this unique magical moment.” Then comes the coup de grace where the International Olympic Committee (IOC) steps in to put an end to the controversy and issues the biggest non-apology of all time, making it even worse—if that could be the case. A mandatory evacuation is underway across Jefferson County as fire crews responded to a Quarry Fire.
Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office has issued an evacuation order for the Deer Creek Mesa, Sampson and Maxwell subdivisions. They are also in the process of evacuating another 275 homes in the McKinney and Murphy subdivisions. An evacuation center has been established at Dakota Ridge High School in California.

California's Park Fire has now become one of the state's largest wildfires as it's grown to more than 383,000 acres.
Officials have confirmed the fire is now California's fifth-largest wildfire in history. A burning car is said to have started the fire after it was pushed into a Northern California gully less than a week ago.

Perseid meteor shower, blue moon to captivate stargazers in August

August will be one of the best months for stargazing in 2024, as it will offer the perfect blend of comfortable summer nights and enticing astronomical sights for people of all ages.
From a rare blue moon to stunning sights of Saturn, here are the three astronomy events you won't want to miss in August:
Aug. 11-12: Perseid meteor shower
The Perseids is often touted as the best meteor shower of the year and will put on a dazzling display as it peaks on the night of Sunday, Aug. 11 into the early hours of Monday, Aug. 12.
The annual August event boasts over 60 meteors per hour, second only to December's Geminids, which can generate over 100 shooting stars per hour. However, the weather is typically more comfortable and less cloudy for stargazers in August compared to December's long, cold nights.
Onlookers may start to see meteors streak through the sky shortly after nightfall, but the best time to watch will be after 1 a.m., local time, according to the American Meteor Society.
Aug. 19: Blue Moon
A blue moon will rise during the third week of the month, and while the moon won’t actually appear blue, its name adds a touch of intrigue to this celestial event. This won't be a typical blue moon, either. Read More

2,000 Baptized in New 'Jesus Revolution' Event at Pirates Cove: 'Lord, Do It Again'

Pastor Greg Laurie of Harvest Christian Fellowship in California is celebrating another massive baptism turnout at Pirates Cove. It's the latest sign that the nationwide move of God that kicked into high gear with the Asbury awakening of 2023 isn't over yet. This latest Pirates Cove baptism comes on the heels of the annual Harvest Crusade held by Pastor Laurie at a fully packed Angel Stadium in Anaheim. The stadium was filled to capacity with 50,000 souls while more people gathered in the parking lot and online to participate.
Pastor Laurie spoke about "The Sinner's Prayer," and 3,500 people walked down on the field to give their lives to Christ. He says the fire marshal wouldn't allow any additional people to go down to the field, so hundreds more people were backed up into the aisles. He reports another 1,500 people prayed to receive Christ online. As a result of those 5,000+ salvations at the Harvest event, 2,000 people showed up to get baptized over the weekend at Pirates Cove in Orange County. (CBN) Read More Here
