Utah Bans Pride Flags in Government Buildings
|
|
Utah has become the first state to prohibit pride flags from flying in state government buildings and public schools. Governor Spencer Cox (R) allowed the bill to become law without his signature. Cox said that he had “serious concerns” about HB77 but believed the Republican majority would override a potential veto. “As tired as Utahns are of politically divisive symbols, I think they are also tired of culture war bills that don’t solve the problems they intend to fix,” the governor wrote in a letter obtained by The Salt Lake Tribune. “In an attempt to make some kids feel more welcome, other kids feel less welcome. I appreciate that the bill is neutral on the types of flags in question (and I find it strange that no headline reads ‘MAGA flags banned from classrooms’).”
Cox wrote that he has asked the State Board of Education to “continue their work to find ways to make our classrooms more politically neutral. The idea that kids can only feel welcome in a school if a teacher puts up a rainbow flag is just wrong,” he noted in the letter. “Let’s do everything possible to make our classrooms one of the last remaining politically neutral places in our state.” The governor added that he thinks “it’s wrong for city and county officials to fly divisive flags,” explaining that “elections have consequences and the best way to stop that behavior is to elect people who believe differently. All this bill does is add more fuel to the fire.” Under HB77, flags that may be displayed include those of the United States, the state flag, flags representing cities, the military, Native American tribes, colleges and universities, and the Olympics. The law takes effect on May 7. (americanfaith) Read more here.

- Lord, we celebrate the prohibiting of displaying pride flags at Utah's government buildings and in public schools. We are grateful for this step towards removal of items which have caused much division within our nation and among families, including unnecessary confusion upon the minds of our children. May this action be duplicated across state lines, spreading righteousness within all government buildings and bringing godly order and biblical principals back into America's classrooms! In Jesus mighty and powerful Name-Amen and Amen.
- "Everywhere in the land righteousness and justice will be done. Because everyone will do what is right, there will be peace and security forever." (Isaiah 32:16-17)

Bipartisan Senate Bill Seeks to Give Congreess More Power on Tariffs
|
|
Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) introduced new legislation on April 3 that aims to reassert Congress’s authority over tariffs following President Donald Trump’s sweeping global levies unveiled on Wednesday.
Sen. Maria Cantwell (D-Wash.) cosponsored the measure, which would limit Trump’s ability to impose tariffs. It would also require the president to give Congress 48 hours’ notice before levying new tariffs and set a 60-day expiration date on all new tariffs imposed. If passed, the bill would also give Congress the authority to cancel any tariff at any time.
While it is unlikely the bill will ever become law, due to it needing to pass the House even if enough senators supported it, Grassley leading the legislation indicates that some major Republican lawmakers are less than satisfied with the president’s tariff agenda. The senator chairs the Judiciary Committee and sits on the Finance Committee, beyond being third in line for the presidency behind House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.).

Lord, we pray that no legislation, executive actions or judicial rulings would cause a disaster with the balance of power in all the branches of US government. We ask that You intervene in every area to make certain that only things which are advantageous to America be enacted.

Jobs Crush Expectations: 228,000 Added in March as Trump Economy Defies Critics
|
|
Employers in the United States added 228,000 workers to their payrolls in March, the Department of Labor said Friday, and the unemployment rate inched up to 4.2 percent.
Economists had been expecting just 140,000 jobs would be added in March. The climb in the unemployment rate was expected.
The private sector’s hiring was much stronger than expected. Economists had forecast 115,000 jobs. Businesses added 209,000 jobs.
The workforce participation rate climbed from 62.4 percent to 62.5 percent. The average workweek lengthened, a sign of increased demand for labor. Average hourly earnings rose 0.3 percent compared with February and 3.8 percent compared with a year ago.
The strong jobs number is the latest piece of economic data suggesting the economy remains on a solid footing despite surveys showing gloomy consumer sentiment, rising policy uncertainty, and businesses wary of future economic conditions.

|
Lord, we praise You for this good news. We pray that the administration’s plans will work to bring job opportunities for all.

Senate GOP Advances Tax Cuts, Border Security Spending After Marathon Session
|
|
The Senate voted largely along party lines early Saturday morning to pass a budget blueprint encompassing many of President Donald Trump’s legislative priorities, including a permanent extension of the president’s 2017 tax cuts and $175 billion in new spending on border security.
Senators voted 51 to 48 to advance the Trump-backed budget resolution to the House for consideration with Republican Sens. Rand Paul of Kentucky and Susan Collins of Maine joining with Senate Democrats to oppose the fiscal framework. The budget blueprint’s passage at roughly 2:30 a.m. came after a marathon series of votes known as a “vote-a-rama” during which Senate Democrats forced their Republican colleagues to take politically contentious votes on amendments related to entitlement program spending, Department of Government Efficiency actions and Trump’s tariffs.
Senate Republicans countered that the forthcoming tax and spending bill that would be unlocked with passage of the budget resolution by both chambers would not cut Americans’ Medicaid or Medicare benefits. Congressional Republicans are seeking to enact Trump’s legislative agenda through a process known as budget reconciliation, which allows Senate Republicans to bypass the filibuster and advance legislation by a simple majority vote.
|
|
Thank You, Lord for this first step in the process of obtaining President Trump’s agenda through Congress. We ask that You guide the rest of the process through to its conclusion. May all who see You work in this be filled with repentance and not arrogance.
“Teach me your way, O Lord, that I may walk in your truth; unite my heart to fear your name.” Psalm 86:11

Ten rockets were launched on Sunday evening from the Gaza Strip, setting off sirens in Ashkelon, Ashdod, and the surrounding areas.
Hamas claimed responsibility for the launches, which emanated from Deir al-Balah, an area in the central Gaza Strip where the IDF has yet to operate.
The IDF stated: "Following the sirens that sounded at 21:01-21:02 in the Lakhish area, approximately ten projectiles were identified crossing into Israeli territory from the Gaza Strip. Most of them were successfully intercepted. The details are under review."
The IDF later added, "Approximately five projectiles were successfully intercepted by the IAF. Falls were identified in several areas. IDF Home Front Command soldiers are dispatched to the scenes and are operating in cooperation with Israeli security forces." (Read more)

2. Egypt presented mediation proposal between Israel, Hamas - Israel Hayom
A senior Palestinian source told Arabic-language media on Sunday that Cairo had presented a mediation proposal aimed at bridging the gap between the framework accepted by Hamas and the demands set out by Israel. Neither Israel nor Hamas has responded so far to the Egyptian proposal.
According to the Palestinian source, Egypt is optimistic about the proposal's chances of success, in light of the upcoming meeting between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Donald Trump, scheduled to take place Monday in Washington. The source added that "Hamas has shown flexibility during its meetings with Egyptian officials regarding the day after the ceasefire."
In recent days, Hamas has leaked details about a proposal presented by the mediators on March 27. According to those details, during a 50-day pause in fighting in Gaza, five hostages would be released, including Edan Alexander, who also holds American citizenship. (Read more)

According to the IDF, the targets were using an engineering vehicle in an effort to restore infrastructure tied to Hezbollah’s “military” operations.
The development is part of an ongoing escalation between Israel and the Iranian terrorist proxy.
Over the past few months, Israel has increased its military actions aimed at weakening Hezbollah’s strategic presence in Southern Lebanon. (Read more)

4. Shin Bet official on leave following proof of arbitrary arrests of Jews - JNS
(April 6, 2025 / Israel Hayom) The head of the Jewish Department in the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) suspended himself from active duty Sunday following the publication of a recording in which he appeared to admit that agents routinely arrested Jewish residents of Judea and Samaria without cause.
Following Kan News‘s publication of the recording of the officer identified only as A., Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and Settlements and National Missions Minister Orit Strock sent a letter to the head of the National Security Council, Tzachi Hanegbi, demanding an urgent Security Cabinet meeting on the Shin Bet’s “abuse” of Jewish suspects and detainees in Judea and Samaria, as the ministers termed it.
In the recording published by Kan, A. is heard speaking with Avishai Muallem, former head of the Judea and Samaria Police District’s Central Unit, who was investigated after allegedly refusing to cooperate with the Shin Bet. (Read more)

5. Two British MPs denied entry to Israel due to 'intention to spread hate speech' - Jerusalem Post
Two British MPs, Yuan Yang and Abtisam Mohamed, were denied entrance to Israel on Saturday, after an investigation reportedly revealed that the two wished to enter the country to document the activities of security forces and spread anti-Israel hatred, Israel's Population and Immigration Authority announced.
The two parliamentarians landed at Ben-Gurion Airport at 2:30 pm on Saturday after flying in from Luton with their two aides. At airport security, the passengers claimed to be part of an official delegation visiting Israel on behalf of the British parliament.
However, the Population and Immigration Authority claimed this was untrue as no official in Israel had approved the arrival of the delegation. (Read more)

1. Supreme Court Allows Trump Administration to Freeze Teacher Grants – Breitbart
In a 5-4 emergency ruling, the U.S. Supreme Court allowed the Trump administration to freeze roughly $65 million in teacher training grants that reportedly promote diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) policies.
The Hill reported that the Supreme Court’s ruling “lifts a lower order that ordered” the Department of Education to resume grants in eight states.
“Respondents have represented in this litigation that they have the financial wherewithal to keep their programs running,” the court wrote in its ruling. “So, if respondents ultimately prevail, they can recover any wrongfully withheld funds through suit in an appropriate forum.”
Per the outlet, “the decision is not a final ruling in the case, and the dispute could ultimately return to the Supreme Court.”

2. China Retaliates With 34 Percent Tariffs on US Goods- The Epoch Times
China announced a raft of additional tariffs and restrictions against American goods on Friday, in retaliation of the sweeping tariffs imposed by the United States.
Beijing said that from April 10, it would impose additional tariffs of 34 percent on all American products.
The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) also unveiled controls on exports of medium and heavy rare-earths, including samarium, gadolinium, terbium, dysprosium, lutetium, scandium, and yttrium to the United States, effective from Friday.
As part of the retaliation measures, the Ministry of Commerce added 11 companies to its “unreliable entities list,” including drone manufacturer Skydio and artificial intelligence startup HavocAI.
According to a statement from the ministry, these companies will face restrictions prohibiting them from engaging in import and export activities and from making investments in China.
Beijing also placed 16 U.S. companies on its export-control list, the ministry said in a separate statement.

3. Markets Plunge For Second Day After Trump’s ‘Liberation Day’ Tariffs Send Global Shockwaves – Daily Caller
U.S. stocks plummeted by market close on Friday as President Donald Trump’s sweeping tariffs continue to rattle markets across the world.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average plunged 2,200 points, or 5.5%, marking the steepest decline since June 2020, while the Nasdaq Composite dropped 5.6%, and the S&P 500 tumbled 5.8%, also the largest decline since June 2020. This marked the second day in a row where U.S. stocks nosedived after Trump announced on Wednesday sweeping new tariffs on imported goods as part of what he called “Liberation Day.”
The tariffs aim to “strengthen the international economic position of the United States and protect American workers,” according to a White House fact sheet published Wednesday. The White House’s fact sheet further claimed that the “current global trading order allows those using unfair trade practices to get ahead, while those playing by the rules get left behind.”

4. ‘An Illegal Act’: Obama-Appointed Judge Orders Trump Admin To Reverse Alleged MS-13 Gangbanger’s Deportation
An Obama-appointed judge has ordered the Trump administration to return an alleged MS-13 gangbanger who was deported to a Salvadoran mega-prison.
U.S. District Judge Paula Xinis ordered the Trump administration Friday to return Abrego Garcia back to the U.S., according to The Associated Press. While the administration has acknowledged that Abrego’s deportation was made in error, federal officials maintain that more than enough evidence substantiates accusations that he’s a documented member and local leader of MS-13, a ruthless criminal syndicate that’s been designated as a foreign terrorist organization.
In remarks on the ruling, Xinis, who was appointed to the bench by the Obama administration, called Garcia’s deportation “an illegal act” and questioned why he was transferred to El Salvador’s mega-prison, according to the AP.
“Why is he there, of all places?” Xinis asked.

5. Iran's currency plummets amid Trump's 'maximum pressure' plan – Fox Business
Iran’s currency hit a new low on Saturday with $1 costing 1,043,000 rials, and it could fall even further as global tensions rise.
The country had just finished celebrating Nowruz, the Persian New Year, during which stores were closed and only informal trading on the streets took place, according to the Associated Press. The outlet noted that this put additional pressure on the market.
Iranian money exchanges and traders have turned their electronic signs amid uncertainty over the value of the rial, the Associated Press reported.
International sanctions, on top of immense pressure from the U.S., have taken a toll on Tehran and its economy. Prior to its new record low, the rial had already dropped to nearly half its value since President Masoud Pezeshkian took office in July 2024, Reuters reported.
The White House announced on Feb. 4 that President Donald Trump was restoring maximum pressure on Iran, with a focus on blocking the Islamic Republic from getting a nuclear weapon. The National Security Presidential Memorandum (NSPM) on Iran called for the countering of Tehran's influence abroad, in addition to the blocking of Iran’s ability to develop a nuclear weapon.

6.Trump Says ‘Every Country’ Has Called Him Since Tariff Announcement, UK PM ‘Very Happy’ With Being on Minimum Rate - Breitbart
President Donald Trump had “a very good dialogue” with Britain’s Prime Minister, who was “very happy” that his country wasn’t on the U.S. list of punishment tariffs.
The European Union reacted with horror at the United States levying a 20 per cent tariff on its exports, a rate twice that of former-member the United Kingdom, which is in the lowest bracket worldwide of ten per cent. The British government has, apart from cursory and general remarks against tariffs in principle, avoided such histrionics, and now President Trump has said he believes the country will have been very happy to get that outcome.
The remarks came on Air Force One on Thursday evening, and saw President Trump reflect of the United Kingdom’s Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer: “…we have a very good dialogue going, and I think he was very happy about how we treated him on tariffs”.
Nevertheless, the United Kingdom government had hoped to avoid tariffs altogether by agreeing to a trade deal with Washington before the coming of Liberation Day. The fact the UK & U.S. haven’t had a trade deal signed and sealed for several years now is a huge indictment of the failure of the last Conservative government, at the very least, which was charged with delivering Brexit, but couldn’t get over its own opposition to leaving the European Union, nor its barely disguised distaste for term-one President Trump himself.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will travel to Washington on Sunday to meet with President Donald Trump, U.S. officials with knowledge about the visit said.
This will be the premier’s fourth visit to the U.S. since the start of the war in Gaza 18 months ago, and his second meeting with Trump since the president’s inauguration on Jan. 20.
The two leaders are slated to discuss the latest developments in the Gaza Strip, as Israel stepped up its military operation since the ceasefire and hostage-terrorist swap agreements broke down in March, CBS News reported on Saturday. (JNS.org) Read more here.

Netanyahu to depart for Washington on Sunday directly from Hungary to meet with Trump
Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will depart to Washington DC on Sunday directly from Hungary—where he is presently on an official visit—to meet with U.S. President Donald Trump, i24NEWS learned on Saturday from an Israeli source.
The visit comes following a phone conversation between the leaders on Friday, and a call with State Secretary Marco Rubio a short while ago. As a result, the planned visit to Washington of Israel's Defense Minister Israel Katz will be postponed once again.
Topics of discussion between the two leaders are expected to include the possible military action against Iran's nuclear facilities, the Gaza war and the future of the war-ravaged Palestinian enclave, the U.S. bombing campaign against Iran-backed Houthi jihadists in Yemen, and the recent imposition of tariffs on Israeli products. A Sudden Summons: Why Netanyahu Is Back in Washington
Koenig World Watch - Special alert
Submitted by Tania Koenig
|
|
|
Just weeks after his last visit to Washington, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is once again en route to the White House—this time at the direct invitation of former President Donald Trump. The hastily arranged meeting, set for Monday, April 7, raises urgent questions—not only about trade, but about deepening regional instability and the evolving diplomatic triangle between Israel, the United States, Iran, and Russia.
Israel's Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer will join the trip. He and the prime minister will also meet with U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick.
The official reason is economic: the Trump administration’s newly imposed 17% tariff on Israeli goods has triggered alarm in Jerusalem. With Israeli exports now at risk in a vital market, Netanyahu is pushing for immediate relief. But trade isn’t the whole story.
The invitation came during a Thursday call while Netanyahu was in Budapest. Trump reportedly made the offer casually, yet pointedly: “Maybe even next week.” The message was clear—this meeting needed to happen now.
So what’s behind the sudden urgency?
Behind the scenes, the U.S. is quietly exploring direct negotiations with Iran—outside of the JCPOA framework and possibly with Russian involvement. Iran has signaled a willingness to engage “on equal footing,” while continuing to advance its nuclear program. Russia has offered itself as a stabilizing intermediary—one that Israel does not trust.
If Israel isn’t in the room, it risks being the topic, not the partner. That may be Netanyahu’s real reason for returning to Washington. He’s not just objecting to tariffs—he’s trying to get ahead of a potential grand bargain that could marginalize Israel and reshape the region without its voice.
This moment carries weight—politically, strategically, and spiritually.
If peace is negotiated at the expense of truth, it becomes an illusion. And illusions, when believed by world powers, can become dangerous.
As Netanyahu prepares to meet Trump, the Church must stay awake. The alignments are shifting. What is said—or unsaid—behind closed doors may determine whether the region leans toward stability or steps into fire.
Watch. Pray. Discern. The hour is significant.

How the Air Force Is Teaching F-16s to Fly Themselves
|
|
The VISTA and VENOM projects—both of which utilize experimental F-16 Fighting Falcons—are the beginning of the end for manned military flying.
The fourth-generation F-16 fighter is at the forefront of Air Force efforts to test next-generation autonomous technology. The plane is being used in two separate programs, both designed to test the autonomous vehicles that are expected to make significant contributions to the Air Force’s future structuring. This gives the plane enhanced relevance for a non-stealth Cold War-era fighter whose best days were long assumed to be behind it.
The first program, known as the Viper Experimentation and Next-gen Operations model-Autonomy Flying Testbed program—or “VENOM” for short—is an effort to develop the technologies for the Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA) drones that are expected to integrate with the forthcoming F-47 NGAD sixth-generation fighter. The second program, known as the X-62 Vista, involves modifying an F-16 to operate autonomously. The two programs sound similar but are not to be confused.
“The VENOM effort is similar to, but separate from, the X-62 Vista,” Air & Space Forces Magazine reported. Vista is designed to “explore the maneuvering and tactics of autonomous aircraft,” while VENOM “focuses specifically on manned/unmanned teaming development.”
Nuances aside, the F-16 has become foundational in both programs, and in so doing has become vital to developing the unmanned aircraft of the future. Read More
