Trump Declares Manhattan DA Has ‘No Case’ in First Statement After Pleading Not Guilty

In his first public statement since pleading not guilty to an unprecedented 34-count indictment in a Manhattan court on Tuesday, former President Donald Trump declared that, as his legal team predicted, the New York County district attorney had “no case.”

“Just lifted off for Palm Beach, Florida,” Trump wrote on Truth Social at around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, adding that he’ll be delivering remarks from his Mar-a-Lago estate at 8:15 p.m., local time.

“The hearing was shocking to many in that they had no ‘surprises,’ and therefore, no case,” he added. “Virtually every legal pundit has said that there is no case here. There was nothing done illegally!”

The former president and lead contender for the 2024 GOP nomination had earlier pleaded not guilty to an indictment brought by the Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, a Democrat elected in a deep blue county who has a history of prosecuting Trump cases.

Unprecedented

Trump’s attorneys have already indicated that they’ll file a motion to dismiss the case. Speaking to reporters outside the courthouse, they said the case is unprecedented not only because it concerns a former president but for other reasons as well.

“A state prosecutor is prosecuting a federal election law violation that doesn’t exist according to federal election law officials,” said Joe Tacopina, one of three Trump attorneys who attended the hearing. (Epoch Times) Read more

‘You Don’t Deserve to Be President,’ Nikki Haley Tells Biden From Tour of Southern Border

“What I’d say to President Biden is ‘Shame on you,’" former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley tells Fox News during her visit Monday to the southern border. (Photo: Screenshot of Fox News coverage of Haley press conference at the border in Eagle Pass, Texas.)

Nikki Haley, former U.N. ambassador and South Carolina governor, visited the nation’s southern border Monday, becoming the first Republican presidential candidate in the 2024 race to do so.

“What I’d say to President [Joe] Biden is, ‘Shame on you,’” Haley told Fox News’ Harris Faulkner during her trip to the border.

“You are putting every single American at risk,” Haley said, as if speaking to Biden. “This is a national security threat. You are allowing illegal immigrants to come across the border that are putting weight on our law enforcement, they’re hurting our families, they’re following into our schools, they’re going into our hospitals,” she said, adding: “Shame on you, President Biden. This is your job. Your job is to protect the American people [and] you’re not doing it. You don’t deserve to be president.”  (Daily Signal) Read more here.

throughout our land!

What we know now about China's spy flights is worse than anyone imagined
Biden's accounting of China's spy flights is partisanship at the expense of defense

We are now learning the Chinese surveillance balloon – which traversed the United States uncontested in February – collected signals intelligence floating above American military installations. In this, the most dangerous period since World War II, the Biden administration should have been more forthcoming about the threat China’s incursion posed to our homeland.

Transparency builds trust, especially during a geopolitical crisis. But during a critical moment with Beijing, President Biden and his national security team chose to mislead the public about the steps they took to counter an adversarial asset over our homeland.

I have pressed the Biden administration to provide the facts essential to understanding of this challenge: What was the Pentagon’s initial threat assessment of the first balloon, and when was it conducted? When was the secretary of Defense informed? What about the president?

Press reports have been more reliable in answering these questions than the Biden administration's own tight-lipped accounting.

We also need to know what capabilities our air defense professionals lacked while monitoring and scrambling aircraft to the object. For years, NORAD and others have asked Congress for more and modernized early warning technology to prepare for events such as those in February. Congress needs to seize this moment and add significant funding for Over-the-Horizon Radars, as well as innovative programs like Pathfinder, Northstar, and the Navy’s integrated Undersea Surveillance System to fortify the integrity of the continent.  (Fox News) Read more.
- Lord God, if we did not have You as our King, this nation would not be safe. We thank You for Your guardian angels that stand over us, day and night, as we come
before You with hearts of repentance, asking for Your grace in time of need. Protect us, O Lord, not only from China, but also from a "president" who seems not to be competent. In Your Name, amen and amen.
- "So we say with confidence: "The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?"" (Hebrews 13:6)
FOCUS ON ISRAEL

1. On Passover night: Gaza terrorists fire two rockets towards southern Israel - Israel National News

Gaza-based terrorists fired two rockets towards southern Israel on Wednesday evening, as local residents were celebrating the Passover Seder with their families.

The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit said that two rockets were fired from the Gaza Strip toward Israeli territory. One launch failed and fell in the Gaza Strip and the other fell in the area of the security fence.

“Following the launches, an alert was activated in the Home Front Command app for open areas only,” the IDF said. (Read more)

2. Gaza terrorists fire 16 rockets at Israeli civilians; IDF hits back at Hamas targets - JNS

(April 4, 2023 / JNS) Sirens went off in Israel on Tuesday night—the night before Passover—as terrorists based in the Gaza Strip launched a total of 16 rockets towards Israel.

Ten rockets were launched overnight and six in two separate barrages in the early morning hours on Wednesday.

One of the rockets hit a factory in the Sderot industrial area, causing damage. No casualties were reported. Seven rockets fell in open areas while eight more were intercepted by Israel’s Iron Dome air-defense system. (Read more)

3. Hundreds of rioting Palestinians arrested for attacking police at Temple Mount - World Israel News

At least 350 people were arrested in the early hours of Wednesday morning at the Temple Mount compound after hundreds of rioters barricaded themselves inside Al-Aqsa Mosque with fireworks, rocks, and other projectiles.

Hundreds of masked young men locked the doors of the mosque and placed heavy objects blocking the entryways late Tuesday evening, sparking police concerns that they would use their stockpiled weapons to attack Jewish visitors to the compound the next morning.

Police entered the mosque after midnight to clear the area after repeatedly asking people to clear the site; they were met with hurled objects and fireworks launched in their direction. Social media footage showed fires raging inside the mosque, which were likely sparked by the rioters’ fireworks. (Read more)

4. Christians Face Increase in Attacks by Jewish Extremists in Jerusalem - Algemeiner

i24 News – There has been an increase in the number of violent incidents against Christian communities in Jerusalem this year: Racist slurs in the Armenian quarter, a gang of religious Jewish teens throwing chairs at a Christian restaurant, violence directed at a cemetery. These are just some of the incidents which have Church leaders alarmed.

In January, two Jewish teenagers, aged 14 and 18, entered the historic Protestant cemetery on Mount Zion and desecrated 28 gravestones. Surveillance footage caught their actions. They were identified by police and indicted for vandalism carried out for racist reasons.

The graveyard, where influential personalities from Jerusalem’s more than 100-year-old Anglican community lie buried, has seen violent harassment before. But what happened in January, says David Pileggi, the rector of the Anglican Evangelical Christ Church, has a wider political background that’s connected to the new right-wing government in Israel.

5.  IDF does damage control after military chief says ties with US ‘not essential’ - Times of Israel

IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi said Wednesday that while security cooperation with the US is beneficial, it is not “essential” and Israel knows how to act on its own.

“Israel knows how to work alone in the face of any security challenge, but it is good to see the US by our side,” Halevi told Army Radio in a relatively rare interview.

“We know how to act alone, we are a sovereign country that reserves the right to make our own decisions and to act. It is good for the US to be by our side, but it is not essential,” he said. (Read more)

1. Liberals Gain Majority on Wisconsin Supreme Court - Townhall

Voters in Wisconsin, as one of the minority of states that elect their judges, chose on Tuesday night to send Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge Janet Protasiewicz to the state Supreme Court, giving liberals a majority for the first time in 15 years. Although Wisconsin is one of 13 states that selects judges through nonpartisan elections, Judge Protasiewicz had support from Democrats, while her opponent, former Justice Daniel Kelly, was supported by Republicans.

Decision Desk called the race shortly before 10:00pm ET, or 9:00pm CT. The poll had closed at 8:00pm CT in Wisconsin. With an estimated 70 percent of the vote in, Protasiewicz has 55.71 percent of the vote to Kelly's 44.29 percent of the vote.

Protasiewicz, who had received support from liberal groups, such as Planned Parenthood, made the abortion issue a major part of her campaign. (Read more)

- Lord God we pray for all the newly elected officials that they would be united in doing what is right and good. 2. Religion, patriotism, and having children diminish in importance for Americans - Catholic News Agency

A new poll of U.S. residents suggests that certain values such as religiosity and having children have receded in importance over the past 25 years, while people’s opinion of the importance of money increased during the same period.

When asked about certain values and whether they consider them to be “very important,” 39% said “religion” was very important to them. By contrast, in 1998, 62% of respondents to the same question said religion was very important to them.
The poll, released March 27, was conducted earlier this month by the National Opinion Research Center (NORC) at the University of Chicago and funded by the Wall Street Journal.

Faith was one of several indicators of more traditional values that the survey showed are less important to Americans than they were 25 years ago. The 2023 survey found that these values are less important than in 2019, the last time the survey was done. (Read more)

- Lord God, we find it tragic that the most important elements binding Americans together are now denigrated. We’re undoubtedly in a moral mess. But you Lord never change and your standards never change. Help us today as the body of Christ to rise up to your standards and shine even brighter in a dark world reflecting what it truly means to be a Christ follower. Let us raise the standard wherever we go and manifest your kingdom on this earth. In Jesus name amen.

“And He sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to perform healing.”
(Luke 9:2)

3. ‘Keep the faith’: Arkansas church destroyed by tornado holds service - News Nation

No damage nor destruction, debris nor devastation could intervene with the message and the mission of Pastor Eddie Miller of the New Commandment Church of God in Arkansas. Miller lost his church in the deadly tornadoes that killed at least 32 people from Arkansas to Delaware.

Despite his sanctuary now in shambles, Miller led a lively Palm Sunday service with a passionate sermon, saying, the church was chosen to send a message of hope and healing.

“I didn’t want the congregation to feel incomplete or hopeless,” Miller said. “Even though we was punched, we didn’t go out. We’re here.” Miller preached on the porch of what was once his Jacksonville, Arkansas, church. He remained positive, while on the inside of the church, only relics remained.

Miller walked NewsNation through what’s left of 808 Stone Street, crosses still spotted on the wall of the nave, a chandelier dangling from the open ceiling miraculously unharmed. (Read more)

Let us be the hands and feet of Jesus and bring glory to Your name. In Jesus’ name, amen.

4. DeSantis Unleashes the Truth About the Left in Pennsylvania Speech - Spectator

Last Saturday, a huge crowd at the Penn Harris Hotel outside Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, listened to a keynote speech by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. The event was the annual Pennsylvania Leadership Conference, which its organizer, Lowman Henry, describes as “the largest state-based conservative, grassroots, activist conference in the nation.” It’s like a Pennsylvania version of CPAC. This was the event’s 34th year.

In a 54-minute talk, DeSantis showed a telegenic element and energy that I didn’t expect. I also didn’t expect someone so thoroughly ideologically informed and unafraid. DeSantis referred to DEI not by its deceptive “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion” misnomer but by what DeSantis dubbed “Division, Exclusion, and Indoctrination.” He also took on ESG and “woke banking.” He took on CRT: “We have banned critical race theory in our K–12 schools. We’re not going to teach our kids to hate our country or to hate each other.”

DeSantis in this speech took on “woke medicine,” from the COVID fanatics who wanted to shut down businesses to junk-science vaccines — which he rightly referred to as simply “mRNA shots” — to the doctors butchering their Hippocratic oath and butchering minors with “gender transition” mutilation surgery. Of these doctors, DeSantis said to wild applause, “Physicians that do that with minors will lose their medical license in our state. It’s just that simple. It is ideology run amok. It is woke medicine.” (Read more)

- Lord God, we thank you for righteous leaders that aren’t afraid to speak the truth. We pray that Governor DeSantis will continue to influence other leaders to stand up for the people and give a voice back to the people and truly govern righteously in Jesus name, amen.

- “Learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless, plead the widow’s cause…” (Isaiah 1:17)

5. North Carolina to have GOP supermajority in legislature as Democrat expected to switch parties - Just The News

North Carolina Republicans are slated to have a supermajority in the General Assembly if state Rep. Tricia Cotham, a Charlotte Democrat, switches parties as expected Wednesday.

Cotham is slated to announce her decision to join the GOP during a press conference, according to Axios. Republicans are one seat away from having the supermajority, and the switch would give the party more power to override any vetos from Democratic Gov. Roy Cooper.

It is unclear what motivated the switch, but Democrats recently criticized Cotham for skipping a vote that resulted in the override of Cooper's veto of a Republican-sponsored bill that eased gun regulations in the state. (Read more)

- Lord God, we thank you for North Carolina, and what you are doing in this state. We just pray over every representative there that they will rule justly and righteously. In Jesus name, amen.

- “For the Lord is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for him.” (Is 30:18)

6. Brandon Johnson projected to become Chicago's next mayor - Just The News

Cook County Commissioner Brandon Johnson is projected to win the Chicago mayoral race, defeating centrist opponent Paul Vallas. Chicago voters previously ousted Democratic Mayor Lori Lightfoot in a February primary contest.

Johnson and Vallas emerged as the top two vote getters in that initial election. The pair took 32.9% and 21.6% of the primary vote, respectively, in the nine-way primar. Chicago's mayoral race is officially nonpartisan, though candidates generally identify with one of the major political parties. A Republican has not led the city since 1931.

Lightfoot's tenure saw the city struggle to combat rising crime with challengers highlighting the issue during the primary. Vallas, in particular, campaigned heavily on addressing the issue.

Johnson, a Cook County commissioner, meanwhile, has endorsed more progressive reforms to law enforcement, including the reallocation of police resources to social services.  (Read more)

- Father God, we ask for Your man to govern the City of Chicago. We understand from other sources that Brandon Johnson is one with socialist tendencies. Let the voters cast their votes according to Your will, and not according to the "smooth sounding words" of any candidate. In Your Name, amen and amen.

- "Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven." (Matthew 6:10)

7. RFK Jr. is running for PRESIDENT - The Daily Mail

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is officially challenging President Joe Biden for the Democratic nomination. Kennedy, 69, filed a statement of candidacy Wednesday with the Federal Election Commission, according to the Associated Press.

He's the son of the late Attorney General and Sen. Robert F. Kennedy, who was assassinated in California in 1968 during a run for the presidency. Kennedy is the nephew of President John F. Kennedy, who was assassinated in Dallas, Texas in 1963.
This Kennedy has made a name for himself by being a prominent anti-vaxxer.
He joins spiritual guru Marianne Williamson in the not-so-crowded Democratic presidential field. (Read more)

- Lord God, we pray over every man and woman that is running for president in 2024, that wishes to serve our country. We pray that each one would find you and would submit to your will and restore justice and righteousness in this land. We pray that the right person would get in, and that they would serve you and this country faithfully. In Jesus name, amen.

- “Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne; steadfast love and faithfulness go before you.” (Psalm 89:14)

8. Private sector job growth tumbles in March to 145,000, worse than expected - Fox Business

Hiring by U.S. companies slowed more than expected in March, pointing to a labor market that is starting to cool in the face of higher interest rates, according to the ADP National Employment Report released Wednesday morning.

Companies added 145,000 jobs last month, missing the 200,000 gain that economists surveyed by Refinitiv predicted. It also marked a major decline from the upwardly revised 261,000 recorded in February.

The report comes as the Federal Reserve wages the most aggressive fight since the 1980s to crush inflation and slow the labor market with a series of rapid interest rate increases. Fed policymakers have made it clear that they anticipate unemployment to climb as a result of higher borrowing costs, which could force consumers and businesses to pull back on spending. (Read more)

- Lord God, we ask that you help everyone facing a financial crisis and loss of jobs. Give us all wisdom and fresh ideas from heaven for businesses and a way to provide for our families as well as help others. Your kingdom stands and is greater than any financial crisis. In Jesus name, amen.

- “And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus
.” (Philippians 4:19)

Stupidocrisy: Biden's Trans Day

The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, April 5, 2023

Joe Biden has called for March 30 to be “Transgender Day of Visibility.” Oddly enough, it coincides with the Trans Radical Activist Network’s (TRAN) Trans Day of Vengeance on March 31, which was called off because TRANS said it couldn’t safely hold the day of projected violence because of the “flood of raw hatred directed toward the trans community after the Tennessee shooting.” So we have a president of the United States and a radical movement of violent transgendered people working together to promote this sexual deviant behavior as something that is normal in society. Biden has taken the opportunity to elevate transgendered people as the “soul” of America, “made in the image of God.” WHAT?

In his Transgender Day of Visibility declaration, Biden said, “Transgender Americans shape our Nation’s soul–proudly serving in the military, curing deadly diseases, holding elected office, running thriving businesses, fighting for justice, raising families, and much more. As kids, they deserve what every child deserves: the chance to learn in safe and supportive schools, to develop meaningful friendships, and to live openly and honestly. As adults, they deserve the same rights enjoyed by every American, including equal access to health care, housing, and jobs and the chance to age with grace as senior citizens. But today, too many transgender Americans are still denied those rights and freedoms. A wave of discriminatory State laws is targeting transgender youth, terrifying families and hurting kids who are not hurting anyone.” Read More

Ancient jaws: 6,000-year-old copper fishhook,
oldest in region, was likely for sharks
Artifact discovered near today’s Ashkelon demonstrates mastery of copper technology, say archaeologists.

Shark was on the menu in Israel more than 6,000 years ago, archaeologists believe, after they uncovered one of the oldest known copper fishhooks in Askhelon. The fishhook was found in an agricultural village from the Chalcolithic period and was likely used during community-wide deep-sea fishing expeditions.

“The shape and size of the hook is typical for [smaller] sharks, also for larger tuna, but on the Israeli coast and the eastern Mediterranean, the tuna is not as common as in the southern Mediterranean,” Dr. Yael Abadi-Reiss, a senior researcher and excavator in the southern district for the Israel Antiquities Authority, told The Times of Israel.

These smaller sharks — likely dusky sharks (Carcharhinus obscurus) and sandbar sharks (Carcharhinus plumbeus) — continue to visit Israel’s shores from November to May, though they are generally clustered near the warm water pouring out of the Hadera Power Station.
The ancient fishhook is 6.5 centimeters long and 4 centimeters wide (2.5 by 1.5 inches) and made from perfectly preserved copper. Copper was a new technology in the Chalcolithic period, and most fishhooks from the era were still made of bone, said Abadi-Reiss. (“Chalcolithic” is a combination of two Greek words: khalkós, which means copper, and “lithic” which means stone.) Read More

The Good News Corner
GOP Lawmaker Realizes the True Meaning of 'Amazing Grace'
There is little doubt that America is at a crucial point in its history, and it is battling for its survival daily as cultural issues continue to divide the country. And the gap keeps widening. Many politicians simply aren't to be trusted. But there are a few in Congress, like Rep. Mike Johnson, R-La., who truly care about the "religious and moral foundations" of the country, and they want Americans to know that their nation is truly worth saving. Fox News Digital reported this week that Johnson led a Christian history tour of the U.S. Capitol Tuesday night, a tour made up of 80 pastors and their spouses from 16 states. The tour also included some current and former lawmakers.

Johnson and his group didn't hesitate to show their boldness for Christ in the Capitol Rotunda as they praised God with a "moving rendition" of the classic Christian hymn "Amazing Grace" that reverberated throughout the dome. "I always enjoy taking friends and visitors through these hallowed halls, and it was a privilege to take this group of faith leaders on a special tour of the Capitol last night," Johnson told Fox News Digital. "They were greatly encouraged to see and be reminded of the religious and moral foundations of our country. In these times of great division, all Americans would do well to be reminded of those truths and that important heritage."

Johnson lamented the fact that churches services that were previously and routinely held in the Capitol building no longer take place, but that Tuesday's event was a welcome sight for religious liberty in a place that it supposed to openly promote it. "It is always moving to hear prayers and hymns echoing in the Rotunda today," Johnson told Fox Digital News. Senator Tim Scott, R-S.C., a devoted Christian, was also part of the tour as well as former Rep. Bob McEwen, R-Ohio, and Christian author David Barton. (Charisma News) Read More and watch video.
- Abba, we lift praise and invite Your presence into Washington DC and America! We declare that this appointed time of worship in the Capitol Rotunda by lawmakers and pastors (including worship leader Sean Feucht's recent visit) will cause Your Holy Spirit to permeate the halls and chambers ushering Your presence into our nation. Come and do what only You can do, to RESET Your righteous plumb-line upon America! In Jesus mighty name-Amen

- "I will make justice the measuring line and righteousness the level; Then hail will sweep away the refuge of lies and the waters will overflow the secret place."     (Isaiah 28:17)
