Next week America will observe the National Day of Prayer - honored on Thursday, May 1st.
The NDP was birthed on May 5, 1988, when President Ronald Reagan signed into law Public Law 100-307 -- the designation of the first Thursday in May as the annual observance for the National Day of Prayer.
Here are the exact words of that bill:
"The President shall set aside and proclaim the First Thursday in May in each year, as a National Day of Prayer, on which the people of the United States may turn to God in prayer and meditation at churches, in groups, and as individuals."
From the first year of this event, when a handful of citizens joined in the Russell Senate Office Building to observe this day, there are now over 110 million citizens that honor the National Day of Prayer!
Today we salute Kathy Branzell, this year's President of the NDP Task Force, as well as her faithful team on her staff and the other National Area Leaders who provide leadership in all 50 states and territories to bring all of us many opportunities to observe the National Day of Prayer.

It Just Ignited: Pastor Says Revival is Breaking out in His California Church
|
|
A California pastor said he’s personally witnessing revival unfold inside his church as people increasingly cling closer to the Lord — and it apparently all started after the preacher opened up about his struggles during a recent sermon. Shane Idleman of Westside Christian Fellowship in Leona Valley, California, told CBN News he believes a genuine spiritual awakening rooted in “sound doctrine” can help pave the way for the spiritual bursts of power seen in certain places in America today. “You have to have sound doctrine,” Idleman said. “That’s your guide; that’s your foundation on which everything else is built. And I believe, when you honor that, God honors you in your pursuit of Him.”
Ultimately, he said revival is a “spiritual resuscitation” that comes when people pursue God more closely — and this is exactly what Idleman is seeing inside his own church. “It doesn’t happen overnight,” Idleman said. “Sometimes it’s persevering and it’s pressing in, and what’s happening at our church started 15 years ago with the heart for revival, heart for awakening.” He continued, “It’s basically God reviving a freshness of the spirit. A joy returns and they want to have prayer meetings and they want worship for hours — and God has just revived, so you basically go from lukewarm to red hot.”

DOJ Launches "Task Force" To Eradicate Anti-Christian Bias
|
|
A new task force within the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) convened Tuesday to rectify the "anti-Christian bias" perpetrated by the federal government under President Joe Biden. Attorney General Pam Bondi created the task force with President Donald Trump's February 6 executive order, "Eradicating Anti-Christian Bias."
"My Administration will not tolerate anti-Christian weaponization of government or unlawful conduct targeting Christians," Trump's order stated. "The law protects the freedom of Americans and groups of Americans to practice their faith in peace, and my Administration will enforce the law and protect these freedoms. My Administration will ensure that any unlawful and improper conduct, policies, or practices that target Christians are identified, terminated, and rectified."
At its inaugural meeting Tuesday, the task force heard from "peaceful Christian Americans who were unfairly targeted by the Biden Administration for their religious beliefs," the DOJ stated.
This included Michael Farris, former head of Alliance Defending Freedom and an elder at Cornerstone Chapel in Leesburg, Va., which Biden's IRS investigated over alleged violations of the Johnson Amendment by its senior pastor, Gary Hamrick.
The second witness was Liberty University Provost Scott Hicks, who described how the Biden administration singled out his university and Grand Canyon University -- the two largest Christian colleges in the nation -- for crippling fines. The task force also heard from Phil Mendes, a Navy Seal who was "relieved of duty during Biden Administration for not taking the COVID-19 vaccine due to religious exemption requests that were denied by the Department of Defense." - Abba, we give You high praise for the actions You have guided President Trump to take in restoring religious freedom in our nation, specifically concerning the bias shown towards Christians and Christian organizations! Thank You for the task force that has been created to investigate governmental agencies, not-for-profit businesses and people who have been spearheading the attack on Christians because of their beliefs. We ask for all the information and wisdom needed to put an end to Christian persecution of any kind.
Father God, You know who is behind these attacks, we ask You to bring all things that are hidden out into the light, that no one will be able to hide. We ask that every person working to punish those who believe in You be arrested and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. The CEOs of Walmart, Target, Home Depot and Lowes Warn That Store Shelves All Over America "Could Soon be Empty"

If you are going to need anything made in China, I would buy it now while you still can. Many companies have already decided that it no longer makes any economic sense to import Chinese-made products into the United States because tariff rates are so high. As a result, there are certain things that will soon no longer be available to U.S. consumers. On Monday, when I posted an article warning about “empty shelves” in the months ahead, some people thought that I was exaggerating. But of course the truth is that I was not exaggerating at all. On Tuesday, the CEOs of Walmart, Target, Home Depot and Lowe’s specifically warned President Trump that store shelves all over the country could “soon be empty” during a meeting at the White House…
The CEOs of Walmart, Target, Home Depot and Lowe’s, all of whom delivered a blunt message about interruptions in the supply chain and its effects on consumers, were invited to the White House as part of an ongoing internal campaign to make the case to Trump about the real-world impact of his policies, administration officials said.
Trump’s tariffs have placed significant pressure on the retail sector. The business leaders warned that store shelves across America could “soon be empty,” two people familiar with the meeting said, as they presented a dire economic picture that could come into sharper view within weeks.

Give him the humility to know that as good as he is at "making the deal", You are still the One who taught him. 1. WATCH: Israel marks Holocaust Remembrance Day - JNS
Yom Hashoah, Israel’s Holocaust Martyrs’ and Heroes’ Remembrance Day, started at sundown on Wednesday night with the annual ceremony at the Yad Vashem World Holocaust Remembrance Center in Jerusalem.
The official state ceremony, held under the theme “Out of the Depths: The Pain of Liberation and Growth,” included speeches by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Israeli President Isaac Herzog.
Other attendees included Cabinet ministers, the heads of the security establishment, Supreme Court justices and other government officials, as well as Hamas captivity survivor Alexander “Sasha” Troufanov.
Opening his remarks by addressing Holocaust survivors in attendance, Netanyahu said, “You bear on you the scars of the terrible devastation, but also represent the heroism, the spirit that guarantees our existence. (Read more)

2. IDF strikes Hamas, Islamic Jihad command centers in Gaza - JNS
The Israel Defense Forces and Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) carried out two targeted airstrikes in Gaza over the past 24 hours, eliminating terrorist operatives from Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad who according to the military were directing attacks against Israeli forces and civilians.
On Thursday, the IDF struck a Hamas-PIJ command and control center in Jabalia used to orchestrate terror operations. According to the IDF, “numerous steps were taken to mitigate the risk of harming civilians,” including the use of precise munitions, aerial surveillance and real-time intelligence.
A similar strike was carried out overnight Wednesday, targeting a terrorist gathering inside a Hamas-PIJ command post embedded within the former “Jaffa” School in Gaza City. That site was also used to plan and execute attacks, military officials said. (Read more)

3. IDF prepares for escalation in Gaza - Israel Hayom
Despite a significant expansion of ground operations in the Gaza Strip in recent days, the IDF have so far encountered relatively few direct clashes with Hamas terrorists.
According to the IDF, one of the main reasons is that the forces have been on the move, entering combat zones with overwhelming firepower and heavily armored vehicles, including tanks and Namer armored personnel carriers outfitted with advanced defense systems such as the Trophy active protection system.
Now that the Israeli military is establishing a more permanent presence, some units have transitioned to more stationary positions, the IDF is bracing for Hamas to ramp up attacks. Military officials anticipate that terrorists may attempt to exploit this shift by targeting troops with sniper fire, anti-tank missile attacks from a distance, or improvised explosive devices. There is also concern that terrorists may attempt to emerge unexpectedly from the tunnel network beneath Gaza. (Read more)

4. Ahmed al-Sharaa said to seek peace with Israel, eyes Syrian entry to Abraham Accords - Times of Israel
New Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa said that Damascus seeks to normalize ties with Israel, US Congressman Cory Mills told Bloomberg on Thursday after a meeting with him last week in Syria.
Mills said he held talks with Sharaa about the conditions for removing US-imposed economic sanctions, as well as the possibility of peace with Israel, according to the report.
Sharaa told Mills during their meeting that Syria is interested “under the right conditions” in joining the Abraham Accords — the series of normalization agreements that US President Donald Trump’s previous administration negotiated between Israel and the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Morocco. 5. Netanyahu meets bipartisan US delegation, emphasizes Iran threat and hostage talks - Israel National News
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday met with a bipartisan US Congressional delegation led by House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY).
The delegation, which attended Holocaust Martyrs' and Heroes' Remembrance Day events on Thursday morning, expressed unequivocal bipartisan support for the State of Israel and its actions against the terrorist organizations and the Iranian axis.
Prime Minister Netanyahu emphasized Israel's relentless efforts to advance a framework for the release of the hostages, the importance of the dialogue with the American administration in order to ensure that Iran's nuclear program is completely dismantled, and the IDF's determined campaign to destroy Hamas's military and governing capabilities in the Gaza Strip. 1. Secretary Hegseth Threatens the Deep State – Discern Report
It’s been three months since Vice President Vance cast the tie-breaking vote to confirm Pete Hegseth as Defense secretary. 2. Palestinian Authority’s Abbas Calls Hamas ‘Sons of Dogs’ and Demands Release of Hostages in Fiery Speech -Discern Report
Political fractures on the Palestinian side have become more and more public as the Gaza war persists. On Wednesday Palestinian Authority (PA) President Mahmoud Abbas issued a strong declaration demanding that Hamas release all remaining Israeli captives in order to prevent Israel from using “an excuse” to continue destroying Palestinian homes and waging war in the Gaza Strip.
In the unexpected statement, Abbas went so far as to call Hamas militants “sons of dogs”. He said while chairing a Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) Central Council meeting in the West Bank city of Ramallah, “You sons of dogs, hand over what you have and get us out of this. Don’t give Israel an excuse. Don’t give them an excuse.”
“Every day there are hundreds of deaths. Why? They don’t want to hand over the US hostage,” Abbas said, as cited in regional media. This was in reference to US-Israeli captive Adi Alexander. His family has been imploring President Trump to help gain his release. Alexander was born and raised in New Jersey.
Abbas highlighted that Israel sees itself as justified in erasing Palestinian identity so long as the hostage crisis continues. Fifty-nine hostages, living and dead, remain in the Gaza Strip. Abbas urged Hamas to hand over the hostages in order to “be done with it.“ (Read more) |

4. Jerusalem Lights up the Old City Walls for Holocaust Remembrance Day – Times of Israel
In honor of Holocaust Remembrance Day, the Jerusalem Municipality is illuminating the Old City walls with the yellow patch symbol, alongside memorial candles and the words “Remember” and “Never Forget.”

5. Digital Delusions: Are We Being Conditioned for the Ultimate Deception? Prophecy Newswatch
Not long ago, the idea of living in a virtual world belonged to science fiction. Today, it is fast becoming reality. VR headsets and AR apps are widely available, offering deeply immersive experiences that can mimic or alter our reality. In VR, users enter computer-generated 3D environments that can feel astonishingly real - complete with visual, auditory, and even tactile sensations. In AR, digital images or information are superimposed on our real-world view (for example, seeing a navigation line on the road through smart glasses, or Pokémon creatures on your sidewalk via a smartphone).
AI-driven environments add another layer, with artificial intelligence generating dynamic content and interactions on the fly. Together, these technologies promise experiences that are interactive, all-consuming, and increasingly lifelike.
Popular media has eagerly extrapolated these trends, painting vivid pictures of worlds where the virtual overtakes the real.
Blurring the Line Between Reality and Illusion
One of the profound psychological effects of these technologies is how they can alter our perception of reality. Studies have found that immersion in VR can induce a measurable state of dissociation - a sort of mental disconnect from the real world. In one experiment, participants who spent time in a virtual environment showed "an increase in dissociative experience (depersonalization and derealization), including a lessened sense of presence in objective reality" after VR exposure.
In simpler terms, prolonged VR use can make the real world feel less real by comparison. Users often describe a "VR hangover" - a disoriented feeling when they return to normal life, as if the virtual world was more engaging than the mundane real one.

The Grand War Over Purging Voter Rolls

There is an ongoing national fight between the Democratic Party and the Republican Party over purging voter rolls. Conservatives want only eligible voters voting. It’s called election integrity. Liberals believe that purging the voter rolls of ineligible voters disenfranchises voters of color, naturalized citizens, and others from voting because they may be removed in error. President Trump is trying to improve election integrity by removing illegal voters from the voter rolls and require identification to verify voters. In Arizona alone, for example, the state removed nearly 50,000 voters who failed to provide proof of US citizenship. In the 2020 presidential election, that may have given Trump an Arizona victory.
Dēmos, a leftist organization dedicated to build an inclusive democracy based on “democracy reform, economic justice, and racial justice,” seeks to prevent voter roll purging. Dēmos believes “Flawed voter purge practices–such as removals for inactivity or based on inaccurate identification of felony status or citizenship status—often disproportionately target voters of color, naturalized citizens, and other communities, and can prevent many eligible persons from exercising their right to vote.” Dēmos analyzed “voter removal practices, the safeguards in place to protect eligible voters from disenfranchisement, and the accessibility and transparency of voter registration data across ten states: Arizona, California, Georgia, Indiana, Louisiana, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio, Texas, and Wisconsin.” None of the states met Dēmos’ standards for purging. NASA to Cover US Spacewalk 93, Hold Preview

Two NASA astronauts will venture outside the International Space Station, conducting U.S. spacewalk 93 on Thursday, May 1, to complete station upgrades.
NASA will preview the upcoming spacewalk during a news conference at 2 p.m. EDT on Thursday, April 24, on the agency’s website from NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston. Learn how to watch NASA content through a variety of platforms, including social media.
