White House accuses House Judiciary Republicans of 'highly misleading' Hunter Biden leak
|
|
White House spokesman Ian Sams pointed to fuller transcript of former CIA Deputy Director Michael Morell's testimony to lawmakers and said House Republicans were misleading the media
|
|
White House spokesman Ian Sams accused House Judiciary Committee Republicans and Chairman Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, of making a "highly misleading selective leak" regarding Secretary of State Antony Blinken's alleged role in discrediting the Hunter Biden laptop story.
In a letter sent to Blinken Thursday, Jordan and House Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Turner, R-Ohio, revealed testimony from former CIA Deputy Director Michael Morell, who said Blinken, then a senior adviser to President Biden's campaign, was "the impetus" of the public statement signed by current and past intelligence officials that claimed the Hunter Biden laptop was part of a Russian disinformation campaign.
"We are examining that public statement signed by 51 former intelligence officials that falsely discredited a New York Post story regarding Hunter Biden’s laptop as supposed Russian disinformation," the Republicans wrote. "As part of our oversight, we have learned that you played a role in the inception of this statement while serving as a Biden campaign advisor, and we therefore request your assistance with our oversight."
They alleged that Morell's testimony showed it is "apparent" that the Biden campaign "played an active role in the origins of the public statement, which had the effect of helping to suppress the Hunter Biden story and preventing American citizens from making a fully informed decision during the 2020 presidential election.
Sams asserted that the Republican letter was "highly misleading," pointing to additional transcript released by the House Judiciary Committee.
"Wow. Fuller transcript newly released by @HouseJudiciary reveals this was a highly misleading selective leak by @Jim_Jordan, @RepMikeTurner and @JudiciaryGOP," Sams tweeted Friday, sharing an excerpt from Morell's testimony. (Fox News) Read more

- Thank You Jesus for the truth coming forth. We pray for full exposure of this matter to come into the open before we, the people, so that consequences may come against all criminal behavior, in Jesus name. We ask for strength for Rep Jim Jordan and the Oversight Committee to stand firm in the effort to get to the bottom of this nefarious deal and we pray for wisdom for them and safety for the truth-teller. Furthermore Father, we bind all accusations and command them mute and silent, in Jesus name so that only truth is heard.

Fetterman admits he was 'not the kind of senator' Pennsylvanians deserved when hospitalized
|
|
'I was so depressed that I didn't even realize I was depressed,' Fetterman told NPR
|
|
NPR spoke to Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., about returning to Congress after spending the first few months of his first Senate term in the hospital for depression. In the exchange, the stroke survivor admitted that during his time away he felt like he was "not the kind of senator" that his state deserved, and that he was not the family man he should have been.
He also noted some of the advice doctors gave him to treat his depression, including staying away from news and social media.
Although Fetterman could not serve in full capacity at the beginning of his term — something even mainstream media warned about due to his rocky recovery from a stroke last year — the outlet turned it into a plus.
The interview began with praise for Fetterman’s "transparency" on mental health issues that he portrayed throughout his treatment for depression. NPR stated, "Fetterman's public acknowledgment of his own mental health struggles is rare for politicians, even as depression has become an increasingly common challenge for Americans." It then added, "With his transparency, Fetterman has created a platform for discussing mental health issues, and encouraged other politicians to share their own stories."
The outlet asked Fetterman about his feelings on returning to the Senate, to which he replied he was happy. He claimed his reaction was "just a big smile," and added, "I’ve really missed being here."
Fetterman also acknowledged that his health problems derailed him as a senator, husband and father. He said, "And when I was in the throes of depression, if I was being 100% honest, I was not the kind of senator that was deserved by Pennsylvanians. I wasn't the kind of partner that I owe to my wife, Gisele, or to my children, Karl, Grace, and August." (Fox News) Read more

- Father, we pray for this Senator and ask You to meet with him and draw him into Your glorious presence. We pray that he finds his way to the Chaplain's Bible Study and is introduced to the family of God by those who know Your love and grace. We rebuke the destroyer from him and pray that his mind and heart come into alignment with God's truth and that he becomes a champion for righteousness because of Your redemption for him and his family, in Jesus name.
- "'Then I will raise up for Myself a faithful priest who shall do according to what is in My heart and in My mind. I will build him a sure house, and he shall walk before My anointed forever.'" (1 Samuel 2:35)

Alabama GOP Gov. Kay Ivey ousts education official over 'woke concepts' in Pre-K educational materials
|
|
Ivey described the early childhood education
materials as 'divisive at the core'
|
|
The head of Alabama's Department of Early Childhood Education (ADECE) has resigned after Alabama Republican Gov. Kay Ivey was made aware of "woke concepts" featured in the books that were being distributed to teachers in the state.
Ivey's office said in a Friday press release that last week it "was brought to the Administration's attention that there was concerning content in a pre-K educator resource book, content that is simply not in line with what the Ivey Administration or the people of Alabama stand for or believe."
Upon learning about the specific content, Ivey's office said the governor sought to review and confirm the educational material before she asked ADECE Sec. Barbara Cooper to "send a memo to disavow this book and to immediately discontinue its use."
"The education of Alabama’s children is my top priority as governor, and there is absolutely no room to distract or take away from this mission. Let me be crystal clear: Woke concepts that have zero to do with a proper education and that are divisive at the core have no place in Alabama classrooms at any age level, let alone with our youngest learners," Ivey said in a statement. |
- We praise You Father, for Your strength in Governor Ivey and all others involved in this victory to defend the innocence and education of the children of Alabama. We rejoice that engaged adults were monitoring the material that was being organized for the schools and were able to speak out and see it cut off, in Jesus name. We pray for and forgive the Education secretary who stepped down; may she find Jesus as her Savior and may she never implement this type of cultural poison anywhere, ever again, in Jesus name.

5. Emerging new Middle East comes with rising concern for Israel - Israel Hayom
The last few months have had the Middle East undergo major tactical shifts with new alliances emerging. This development could change the balance of power in the region. It is not yet "a new Middle East," but Israel is following the political developments closely.
Currently, China and Iran are increasingly involved, contrary to the United States, which directs efforts and resources toward the war in Ukraine, having left behind a vacuum in the Middle East that other countries are eager to fill.
On March 10, Saudi Arabia and Iran renewed ties by signing an agreement mediated by China, which has economic interests in the region, and mainly out of a Saudi desire for Iran's moves to curb the civil war in Yemen.
Last week, Syria's Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad visited Saudi Arabia following a lengthy boycott of the country due to the civil war. The trip marked Syria's return to the bosom of Arab nations. At the same time, Tunisia and Syria reinstated each other's ambassadors.

1. Manhattan DA Gives Up Fight To Stop Jim Jordan From Subpoenaing Ex-Trump Investigator - Daily Caller
Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg gave up his effort Friday night to prevent former Special Assistant District Attorney Mark Pomerantz from being required to testify before the House Judiciary Committee over Bragg’s investigation into former President Donald Trump.
Committee Chairman Jim Jordan subpoenaed Pomerantz after Bragg indicted Trump for allegedly falsifying business records, with the Ohio Republican accusing Pomerantz of politicizing the investigation. After U.S. District Judge Mary Kay Vyskocil on Wednesday turned down Bragg’s request to stop the subpoena’s enforcement in his April 11 lawsuit against Jordan, the Second U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals granted a temporary administrative stay of the subpoena’s original Thursday return date, only for Bragg’s office to reach an agreement with the committee allowing Pomerantz to be deposed on May 12, the office indicated Friday night.
“This evening the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office withdrew its appeal in Bragg v. Jordan,” Jordan’s spokesperson Russell Dye said. Bragg’s office called the administrative stay “successful,” saying it gave them time to coordinate with the committee “on an agreement that protects the District Attorney’s privileges and interests.” (Read more)

2. Ex-CIA Official: Biden Campaign Behind Letter Framing Hunter Biden Laptop Story as Russian Disinformation - The Epoch Times
A former deputy director of the CIA was prompted by the Biden campaign to frame the Hunter Biden laptop story as Russian disinformation in a letter signed by dozens of former senior intelligence officials ahead of the 2020 presidential election, according to testimony revealed by Congressional lawmakers.
Former CIA deputy director Michael Morell was among the 51 signatories of an open letter (pdf) that said the New York Post’s October 2020 report dismissing the explosive contents of a laptop purportedly belonging to Hunter Biden, son of President Joe Biden. The letter said that the “arrival on the U.S. political scene of emails purportedly belonging to Vice President Biden’s son Hunter, much of it related to his time serving of the Board of the Ukrainian gas company Burisma, has all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation.”
Morrell said in Congressional testimony cited by Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) that Morrell had organized the letter at the urging of Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who at the time was serving as an adviser to Biden’s presidential campaign. Jordan, who heads both the House Judiciary Committee and the Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government, has demanded that Blinken answer a series of questions about Morrell’s testimony and provide records of related communication. 3. Three states working to 'legalize child abuse' - WND
There now are three states where, according to Liberty Counsel chief Mat Staver, officials are "attempting to legalize child abuse."
Those states would be where officials have adopted a law, rules or regulations that would allow state officials to provide to runaway children who end up in halfway house settings body mutilating transgender chemicals and surgeries.
"These state legislatures are attempting to legalize child abuse by stripping parents of informed consent – a fundamental right. If enacted, these 'laws' will virtually escort young children on a reprehensible path to damaging, and perhaps irreversible, biological and medical consequences," explained Staver.
"States need to empower parents to protect their children, not inhibit them." WND had reported only days ago on the scheme in Washington state.
There the move was so egregious that a commentary at the Washington Examiner said "Washington state declares transgender war against parents" and warns that the "unadulterated evil" "must not stand."
Other states involved in the campaign include Oregon and California. (Read more)

4. Biden admin preparing major crackdown on power plants that fuel nation's grid - Fox News
The Biden administration is reportedly finalizing a proposal that would force fossil fuel-fired power plants to substantially curb emissions or utilize costly carbon capture technology.
The proposal — which will soon be released by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) — is expected to require coal- and natural gas-fired power plants to cut or capture the vast majority of their carbon dioxide emissions by 2040, The New York Times reported on Saturday, citing officials briefed on a draft of the plan. The regulation, if finalized, would represent the first-ever federal action curbing power plant emissions.
"EPA cannot comment because the proposals are currently under interagency review," EPA spokesperson Maria Michalos told Fox News Digital in a statement.
"But we have been clear from the start that we will use all of our legally-upheld tools, grounded in decades-old bipartisan laws, to address dangerous air pollution and protect the air our children breathe today and for generations to come," Michalos said. (Read more)

5. ‘Nobody Trusts The FBI’: Fox Business Panel Rips FBI Over Hiding Nashville Shooter’s Manifesto - Daily Caller
A panel on Fox Business Network ripped the FBI Friday over its refusal to release the manifesto of the alleged shooter who killed six people at a Nashville school.
“If this were a white national shooter, it would have been released, if it was a pro-life activist, it would have been released, if it was a Trump supporter, it would have been released immediately,” Pete Hegseth said. “People who’ve seen these documents, based on reporting say they are a dangerous and dark distillation of the motives of the shooter, which I’m sure the presumption that it would lead to a backlash of anti-trans hate which is what they said from the beginning. 6. DeSantis Seeks Major Disaster Declaration From White House - The Epoch Times
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said he will ask the Biden administration to declare a major disaster for Broward County.
“Today, Governor Ron DeSantis announced he will request a Major Disaster Declaration for Broward County due to the catastrophic impacts of unprecedented flooding in Southeast Florida,” DeSantis’s office said in a statement. “If granted by the White House, a Major Disaster Declaration will provide a wide range of federal assistance programs for individuals and public infrastructure damaged by the floods.”
More than 2 feet of rain fell in some parts of the county on April 12. The 1-in-1,000-year deluge left some parts of the county with up to 3 feet of water. Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport shut down on the evening of April 12. Airport officials resumed operations at 9 a.m. on April 14 after they completed final inspections. Airport operations were slowly returning to normal afterward, but the almost two-day closure was still affecting some passengers. Gas deliveries to the port were also slowed, causing long lines at the pump.
Florida and federal officials have been conducting damage assessments in impacted flood areas since Wednesday and are expected to finish physical assessments this weekend. “In less than three days, teams have assessed over 1,300 homes and identified over 1,000 with major damages,” the governor’s office said. 7. Newsom sending National Guard to San Francisco to tackle fentanyl crisis - Washington Examiner
Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) directed the state National Guard and California Highway Patrol to help fight San Francisco's fentanyl trafficking crisis. "Two truths can co-exist at the same time: San Francisco’s violent crime rate is below comparably sized cities like Jacksonville and Fort Worth — and there is also more we must do to address public safety concerns, especially the fentanyl crisis," Newsom said on Friday.
California will increase the law enforcement presence around the city to tackle crimes linked to the problem of fentanyl in hopes of reducing the epidemic of drug overdoses. "Our Police Department and District Attorney have been partnering to tackle this issue and increase enforcement, but our local agencies can use more support," San Francisco Mayor London Breed said. "With the Governor’s leadership and clear direction, our state enforcement agencies can partner with us to make a difference for our residents, businesses, and workers who are living with the impacts every day."
On Wednesday, Newsom went to the epicenter of the drug and homelessness crisis by visiting San Francisco's Tenderloin neighborhood and spoke to city leaders.
San Francisco Public Defender Manohar Raju worries that "the people who are likely to be targeted by any forthcoming operations will be in low-income and Black and Brown communities, including those who have been trafficked or coerced into the drug trade under threat to themselves and their families." 8. A harvest of lost souls': Christians prepare to share Jesus with thousands at Boston's SatanCon - Christian Post
SatanCon 2023 is fast approaching, and intercessors from across America say they feel led by God to travel to Boston to witness to the thousands of Satanists who will be in attendance for what has been billed as the "largest satanic gathering in history."
The gathering, scheduled to take place in downtown Boston on April 28-30, is being toted as "Hexennacht in Boston," a German phrase that means "Witches Night in Boston."
The event is being held intentionally in Bean Town in response to Boston Mayor Michelle Wu not allowing satanic invocations at city events. The temple sued the city for denying its request in July 2021 to raise its flag at Boston City Hall in honor of Satan Appreciation Week.
The regional leaders in Boston for Intercessors For America (IFA) — Scottish sisters Suzie and Lynn MacAskill — say hundreds of believers from several denominations will come together in unity, not to pray the event away, but instead pray for revival to break out amongst the attendees in Jesus' name. Swing State Dems Approve $175 Million In Taxpayer Funds To Chinese-Owned Company, And Residents Aren’t Happy
|
|
Michigan Democratic lawmakers authorized taxpayer funding for a Chinese-backed project Thursday, prompting criticism from state residents at a Senate Appropriations Committee hearing.
Lawmakers approved $175 million in public funding for Gotion to construct an electric vehicle battery factory in Big Rapids, Michigan. However, the public expressed worries due to China-based parent company Gotion High-Tech having corporate bylaws establishing a Communist Party of China (CCP) Committee within the company; every committee Republican and three Democrats voted against it, but the measure passed with a 10-9 vote.
“The Party Committee of the Company shall perform its duties in accordance with the Constitution of the Communist Party of China and other Party regulations,” the bylaws state.
Michigan residents voiced concerns about the parent company’s Chinese Communist Party (CCP) allegiance.
“I think that any Chinese communist plant buying up 700 acres of Michigan land is a concern to all citizens throughout the state,” resident Cheryl Vitito said. “This CCP-controlled company represents communism and is a threat to our way of life and our God-given and constitutional freedoms. We don’t want the CCP here by way of the Gotion plant as they have no regard for the value and dignity of human life.”
“This company pledges allegiance to the Chinese Communist Party and should be determined as a threat to our national security,” said another resident Shirley Schaefer. (Daily Caller) Read more
- We pray that this factory will never get constructed! We pray these lawmakers receive such intense opposition that they cancel the deal, in Jesus name!

EXCLUSIVE: CIA Employee Told Police Alleged Assailant ‘Admitted’ To Sexual Assault, But Agency Ignored
|
|
|
The House Intelligence Committee is investigating the CIA after three female employees, who were allegedly sexually assaulted by agency employees, say they were threatened to remain silent or face retaliation, a victim’s lawyer told the DCNF.
Kevin Carroll, an attorney for one of the victims, who has declined to speak publicly about the matter, told the Daily Caller News Foundation that his client was assaulted by a male CIA employee who had tried to kiss and accost her. The employee “wrapped a thick winter scarf around my neck, strangled me, manhandled me, attempted to kiss my mouth, and throughout this assault stated words to the effect of, ‘This is what I want to do to you’ and ‘There are many uses for this (the scarf),'” she said.
When she reported the incident to the CIA’s Office of Security, they warned her against speaking with law enforcement, else she would not be “protected” from her assailant and her career with the agency would end, Carroll said. The DCNF obtained a copy of her report to the police.
The report also mentions that the assailant “admitted his assault of me to our employer (which admission was recorded in writing),” but no action was taken. (Daily Caller) Read more

Virginia Senator Introduces Bill to Ban Stock Trading in Congress
|
|
|
Virginia Sen. Tim Kaine and 22 of his colleagues have introduced legislation in the U.S. Senate to ban members of Congress from stock trading.
The legislation, Ending Trading and Holdings in Congressional Stocks Act, or ETHICS Act for short, would prohibit members of Congress, their spouses and dependent children from owning or trading securities, commodities or futures.
Supporters of the bill argue members of Congress are at an advantage when it comes to forecasting the market. “Lawmakers often have advance notice of investigations, hearings, and legislation that can impact stock prices, or can move markets by supporting or enacting policy changes that affect companies or industries,” according to a news release from Kaine’s office.
Proponents of the bill applaud the legislation as the “strongest congressional stock trading ban bill that has been introduced to date,” said Dylan Hedtler-Gaudette of Project on Government Oversight. “The bill also covers spouses and dependent children, which was a glaring loophole in previous proposals.
Campaign Legal Center, a nonpartisan watchdog group, claims prior to the pandemic, several members of Congress “made over a thousand financial transactions after receiving closed-door briefings.” (The Virginia Star) Read more

- Father, we lift this legislation before You and ask that You intervene if it is not in Your perfect will. Though it sounds good on the surface, the fact that so many Democrats are backing it gives us pause. We pray that if there are portions of this bill that contain a hidden agenda, You will either alter it or prevent its passage.

Hidden symbols and 'anomalies' discovered in 800-year-old 'Stone of Destiny' to be used in Charles III's coronation
|
|
A new look at the 13th-century Stone of Destiny reveals mysterious markings and other 'anomalies' that previously went unnoticed.
When King Charles III is crowned in London on May 6, the coronation ceremony will involve the Stone of Destiny, a Scottish carved seat that's at least 800 years old. Despite its long history, scientists only recently noticed never-before-documented symbols and other anomalies on the stone, they announced in a statement.
These anomalies — a copper alloy stain and the remains of gypsum plaster — suggest that the historical block, also known as the Stone of Scone, has unknown aspects of its history that aren't recorded in documents.
The stone was used in the coronation of Scotland's monarchs in the 13th century, and today, it is used in the coronation of the United Kingdom's monarch. As part of the modern-day ceremony, the stone is placed within the coronation chair that the monarch sits on. The stone was captured and moved from Scotland to England in 1296 and was not returned until the 20th century. Its history before the 13th century is unclear. Read More

‘Worth Fighting For’:
Bold Football Coach Who Won SCOTUS Battle Over Prayer on 50-Yard Line Just Scored Another Victory
|
|
A high school football coach who won his U.S. Supreme Court battle to pray on the 50-yard line last year said he’s excited and nervous to be reinstated to the position for which he spent years fighting. Joe Kennedy, locked for seven years in a volleying legal battle with the Bremerton School District in Washington state, secured a 6-3 Supreme Court ruling in Kennedy v. Bremerton School District last June. The court found Kennedy’s First Amendment rights were violated when he was prevented from praying on the 50-yard line after games and ended up losing his job over the ordeal. Now, Kennedy is slated to be reinstated to his assistant coaching position this upcoming season. “I hardly believe it’s actually happening,” Kennedy told CBN’s Faithwire. “It’s been so long that I’ve been fighting so hard to get back there now. It’s really going to happen, and, man, I’m just so thankful.”
The coach, who expects to potentially join some pre-season events this spring, is still speaking with the Bremerton School District to iron out the details. The district has confirmed his reappointment, noting he will “be an assistant football coach for Bremerton High School for the 2023 season.” The case also cost the district quite a bit of money, as a settlement was approved this week for officials to pay $1,775,000 to settle attorneys fees. That payment comes after the Supreme Court victory clarified an ongoing debate about free speech and religious liberty, namely that the coach wasn’t violating the Establishment Clause with his post-game prayers. Kennedy said he was completely blown away last June when he found out the court ruled in his favor. He said his case protects the First Amendment rights of people of any and all faiths, proclaiming this reality put a “permanent smile” on his face. Kennedy added, “Some things are just absolutely 100% worth fighting for.” (Faithwire) Read More

- Father, we lift PRAISE to You for granting a double-portion of favor over Coach Kennedy who received far beyond what he ever imagined! We declare that this verdict and settlement of paid attorney fees will bring You all the GLORY and set the protocol across our nation in support of every believer's First Amendment rights. In the mighty name of Jesus- Amen

Words: Fanny Crosby
Music: Robert Lowry
Scripture: The Lamb…will lead them to springs of living water. Revelation 7:17
Lyrics:
All the way my Savior leads me;
What have I to ask beside?
Can I doubt His tender mercy,
Who through life has been my guide?
Heav’nly peace, divinest comfort,
Here by faith in Him to dwell!
For I know, whate’er befall me,
Jesus doeth all things well;
For I know, whate’er befall me,
Jesus doeth all things well.
All the way my Savior leads me,
Cheers each winding path I tread;
Gives me grace for every trial,
Feeds me with the living bread.
Though my weary steps may falter,
And my soul athirst may be,
Gushing from the rock before me,
Lo! A spring of joy I see;
Gushing from the rock before me,
Lo! A spring of joy I see.
All the way my Savior leads me
O the fullness of His love!
Perfect rest to me is promised
In my Father’s house above.
When my spirit, clothed immortal,
Wings its flight to realms of day
This my song through endless ages—
Jesus led me all the way;
This my song through endless ages—
Jesus led me all the way.
