Angry Putin Demands Control of Jerusalem Church
|
|
|
Russian President Vladimir Putin reportedly sent an angry letter to Israel Prime Minister Naftali Bennett on Sunday demanding he hand over control of a church in Jerusalem’s Old City.
The Alexander Nevsky Church, also known as the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, is a Russian Orthodox church, but not one presently under the Kremlin’s control.
In 2020, Russia arrested a young Israeli woman, Naama Issachar, for possession of cannabis. In exchange for her release, former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu promised to recognize the Russian government’s control of the Alexander Nevsky Church.
Amidst growing Russian frustration with Israel linked to the Ukraine war, Putin is now calling in that debt.
Israel for weeks maintained a degree of neutrality over the Russia-Ukraine war. But last week, Foreign Minister Yair Lapid joined the chorus of world voices accusing Putin and his forces of war crimes and even genocide.
“A large and powerful country has invaded a smaller neighbor without any justification. Once again, the ground is soaked with the blood of innocent civilians,” Lapid said while visiting Greece earlier this month. “The images and testimony from Ukraine are horrific. Russian forces committed war crimes against a defenseless civilian population. I strongly condemn these war crimes.”
The foreign minister reiterated his charges while in Romania last week.
On Sunday, the Kremlin summoned Israeli ambassador Alexander Ben Zvi to clarify Lapid’s remarks and to accuse Israel of trying to distract from its own conflict with the Palestinians.
“There was a poorly camouflaged attempt to take advantage of the situation in Ukraine to distract the international community’s attention from one of the oldest unresolved conflicts – the Palestinian-Israel one,” the Russian Foreign Ministry asserted. (Israel Today) Read more

Durham Says CIA Determined Data From Former Clinton Lawyer Was ‘User-Created,’ Not ‘Technically Plausible’

Special Counsel John Durham said in a Friday court filing that the CIA determined data from former Clinton campaign lawyer Michael Sussmann surrounding alleged links between the Trump organization and Russia was “user created” and not “technically plausible.” Sussmann, a Democratic lawyer with ties to Clinton’s 2016 campaign, was charged last year by special counsel John Durham with lying to the FBI during a 2016 meeting. Sussmann filed a motion to dismiss the case in February, but a judge ruled in April that the case will be allowed to proceed.
In the latest court filing, Durham noted that the CIA “concluded in early 2017” that the data didn’t “withstand technical scrutiny.”
“While the FBI did not reach an ultimate conclusion regarding the data’s accuracy or whether it might have been in whole or in part genuine, spoofed, altered, or fabricated, [the CIA] concluded in early 2017 that the Russian Bank 1 data and Russian Phone Provider 1 data was not ‘technically plausible,’ did not ‘withstand technical scrutiny,’ ‘contained gaps,’ ‘conflicted with [itself]’ and was ‘user-created and not machine/tool generated,'” Durham wrote according to the court documents.
While Durham also noted that the Special Counsel’s office hadn’t yet “reached a definitive conclusion in this regard,” he argued in the court filing that the evidence showing agencies had taken measures to investigate “is critical to establishing materiality.” (Daily Caller) Read more

1. Israel says Iran has nearly enough uranium for a bomb, as talks remain stuck - Jerusalem Post
Iran is close to having enough enriched uranium for a weapon as negotiations to return to the 2015 nuclear deal remain stuck, a diplomatic source said on Wednesday.
The Islamic Republic is very close to having a significant quantity of enriched uranium – meaning enough to produce one bomb and a redline set by Western parties to the talks.
While Iran is not yet enriching uranium to weapons-grade material at 90% purity, larger quantities of uranium enriched to a lower purity can be enough for a bomb. Jerusalem’s assessment is that Iran is close to having a significant quantity of uranium enriched to 60%. (Read more)

2. Top Iranian Nuclear Scientist Claims Israel Daily Threatening to Bomb Iran, Justifying Weapons Program - Algemeiner
A top Iranian nuclear scientist falsely claimed that Israel has threatened to use a nuclear weapon against Iran and that Iran’s nuclear program is essential to establish deterrence and force the world to accede to its demands.
According to a translation by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI), Dr. Mahmoud-Reza Aghamiri, the head of the Nuclear Engineering Department at Shahid Beheshti University in Tehran, said in an April 9 lecture, “Not a day passes — when I say this, it means that it may have happened or is happening this morning — without Israel saying that if needed, it will use a nuclear bomb against Iran.”
Israel has never made such a threat.
Aghamiri claimed Iran needs a nuclear weapon to counter such threats. “Even in the case of Ukraine, you saw that Russia threatened that if it could not reach an agreement under certain conditions, the option of a nuclear bomb exists — Putin has the [nuclear] suitcase, and [Russia] would use this option,” he said. “What does this mean?” (Read more)

3. Hamas threatens Israel over extremists’ plans for Passover sacrifice on Temple Mount - Times of Israel
The Hamas terror group on Wednesday threatened Israel over plans by Jewish activists to conduct ritual sacrifices on Jerusalem’s flashpoint Temple Mount, saying it would not allow it “at any cost,” and Gazan terror factions were set to convene to discuss a unified response to the alleged “aggressions.”
Israeli authorities vowed to stop any attempts to bring sacrificial animals to the complex, as they have in years past.
The Returning to the Mount extremist group, which advocates the construction of a third Jewish temple on the site that once housed the two biblical Temples, announced on Facebook Monday that it would be offering a cash prize to those who manage to sacrifice a lamb on the Temple Mount, and to anyone arrested trying to do so. 4. Large-scale Passover eve attack in Jerusalem thwarted - Israel National News
A large-scale terrorist attack in Jerusalem was prevented when IDF forces raided the village of Silwad in the Ramallah area Wednesday evening to a arrest terrorist operative.
The forces surrounded his house and demanded that he surrender.
Six other Arabs were arrested who were planning a large attack in Jerusalem on the eve of Passover.

5. Israel to grant tens of thousands of additional work visas to Palestinians - World Israel News
Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz said on Tuesday that he is advancing a plan to grant work permits to tens of thousands of additional Palestinians.
Currently, an estimated 100,000 Palestinians enter Israel legally to work after being screened by the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) and receiving an Israeli permit.
Gantz said that the measure would be advanced alongside ongoing intensified intelligence, as well as offensive and defensive steps currently being taken by security forces to quash the recent wave of deadly terrorism.
“We are advancing solutions that will enable the entry of tens of thousands of additional workers into Israel in an organized manner,” said Gantz, during a tour with Israel Defense Forces Deputy Chief of Staff Maj. Gen. Herzi Halevi and other senior IDF commanders. (Read more)

During a preview of an interview set to air on Sunday’s broadcast of CNN’s “State of the Union,” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky told Jake Tapper that “all of the countries of the world” should be prepared for the possibility that Russian President Vladimir Putin could use tactical nuclear weapons in his war on Ukraine.
“The director of the CIA warned that he’s worried Putin might use a tactical nuclear weapon in this fight,” Tapper said. “Are you worried?”
“And not only me, I think all over the world, all the countries have to be worried,” Zelensky replied. “Because, you know that it kind of be not real information, but it can be the truth because when they began to speak about one or another battles or involves enemies, or nuclear weapon, or some chemical, you know, issues, chemical weapons, they should do.”

2. With genocide accusation against Russia, Biden is again willing to get ahead of his own government (nbcnews.com)
President Joe Biden’s declaration this week that Russia is committing “genocide” in Ukraine raised concerns among some officials in his own government and has so far not been corroborated by information collected by U.S. intelligence agencies, according to senior administration officials.
At the State Department, which is tasked with making formal determinations of genocide and war crimes through an independent legal process, two officials said that Biden’s seemingly offhand declaration during a domestic policy speech in Iowa on Tuesday made it harder for the agency to credibly do its job.
U.S. intelligence agencies collect information when allegations are made of actions that could amount to genocide, but policymakers are the ones who actually decide whether to declare it. Intelligence reports on Ukraine currently do not support a genocide designation, officials said.

3. McCarthy says Ukraine invasion should serve as ‘lesson’ for arming Taiwan | Fox News
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy said the Russian invasion of Ukraine should serve as a "lesson" for a possible Chinese invasion of Taiwan, arguing President Biden needs to act sooner on beefing up Taiwan’s military so it can have a better chance of defending itself.
During an Easter morning appearance on "Fox News Sunday," McCarthy, R-Calif., slammed the Biden administration for being too slow to provide arms to Ukraine ahead of the invasion.
"This is going to get stronger and rougher," McCarthy said. "And what really needs to happen is, Ukraine is not asking for American men and women to fight. All they're asking for is the weapons to defend themselves. If we would have taken those actions earlier, instead of waiting until after Russia invaded, they probably never would have invaded had we done that sooner."

4. Brief: Biden Releases 756K Border Crossers into U.S. Since Taking Office (breitbart.com)
President Joe Biden’s administration has released more than 750,000 border crossers and illegal aliens, a foreign population larger than the population of Boston, Massachusetts, into the United States since taking office in January 2021, a court brief confirms.
The brief, dated April 14 and filed in the Supreme Court by Stephen Miller’s America First Legal Foundation, details the extent to which Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has put its Catch and Release network into overdrive in just a little over 12 months.
Specifically, DHS has released more than 756,109 border crossers and illegal aliens into American communities from January 21, 2021, to February 28, 2022, the brief states. This is larger than the resident population of Boston, about equal to the size of Denver, Colorado, and larger than the population of Detroit, Michigan.

The mayor of border city McAllen, Texas, is pleading with President Joe Biden not to end a Trump-era pandemic policy for turning away migrants, warning the White House that “no amount of preparation” can ready them for the expected influx of illegal immigrants.
Mayor Javier Villalobos asked the Biden administration to reconsider ending the public health policy, Title 42, which has allowed the Border Patrol to turn away immediately most people who illegally come across the border between ports of entry. But that policy is set to end on May 23, and homeland security officials in Washington have warned that up to 18,000 people could be encountered in a single day.

6. Biden administration protects Cameroonians in the U.S. from deportation, offers work permits - CBS News
The Biden administration on Friday announced it will offer Temporary Protected Status (TPS) to more than 10,000 immigrants from Cameroon in the U.S., protecting them from deportation and allowing them to work legally due to the ongoing armed conflict in the African country.
Once it is open for applications, the TPS program will allow Cameroonians who have lived in the U.S. as of April 14 to obtain work permits and deportation protections for 18 months if they meet the eligibility requirements and pass background checks.
A 1990 law authorizes the U.S. government to create TPS programs for immigrants who are undocumented or have temporary status if the U.S. determines their home country cannot safely accept the return of its citizens because of war, natural disasters or other "extraordinary" conditions.

7. Biden administration rolls out ‘equity actions plans’ across gov’t agencies | Fox News
The Biden administration this week rolled out a number of strategies across government agencies to promote racial equity and support "underserved communities" to fulfill an executive order from President Biden.
Biden signed an order on Inauguration Day directing agencies to "pursue a comprehensive approach to advancing equity for all, including people of color and others who have been historically underserved, marginalized, and adversely affected by persistent poverty and inequality."
Over a year later, more than 90 agencies, including all Cabinet departments, released their plans, outlining more than 300 strategies and action plans to make federal policies fairer.
"Across the federal government, agencies are taking ambitious action to expand federal investment and support in communities that have been locked out of opportunity for too long, including communities of color, Tribal communities, rural communities, LGBTQI+ communities, people with disabilities, women and girls, and communities impacted by persistent poverty," the White House said.
- Lord, though we do believe that everyone should have equal opportunities, we do not trust the government not to destroy those opportunities for groups the administration doesn’t like. They have made it abundantly clear that they don’t like Conservatives or Christians. We pray for Your adjustments to these “equity” plans so that they are just and fair.

8. Florida rejects 41% of math textbooks for including CRT, most aimed at K-5 students: 'Impermissible' | Fox News
Florida's Department of Education (DOE) rejected 41% of mathematics textbooks submitted for use in the state's public schools Friday, citing critical race theory and other issues with the texts.
Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has led a push to reform education standards and practices in the state. Florida called for textbook submissions from publishers in 2021 in accordance with a 2019 executive order from DeSantis aimed at eliminating Common Core standards in the state. The textbooks rejected "were impermissible with either Florida’s new standards or contained prohibited topics."
The 41% rejection rate was the highest in Florida's history.

9. District of Columbia Jury Pool ‘Saturated with Prejudice,’ Opinion Survey Finds (theepochtimes.com)
Nearly three out of four District of Columbia residents are likely to find Jan. 6 defendants guilty in federal court, while 85 percent believe the events of Jan. 6 were criminal acts including insurrection, an attack, or a riot, a survey by two defense attorneys found.
Results of the survey by Inlux Research + Analytics were included late April 15 in a change-of-venue motion (pdf) filed by defendants in two Oath Keepers conspiracy cases. The research was commissioned on behalf of Thomas E. Caldwell of Berryville, Virginia, and Connie Meggs of Dunnellon, Florida.
The study is the third recent research project that alleges the pool of potential jurors in the District of Columbia is biased against defendants charged with crimes stemming from unrest at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.
“The District of Columbia’s jury pool is saturated with prejudice,” said the motion, filed by attorneys David W. Fischer and Juli Z. Haller.

10. Biden Nominates Michael Barr For Key Federal Reserve Position | The Daily Caller
President Joe Biden intends to nominate Michael Barr for vice chair for supervision of the Federal Reserve, after his previous nominee withdrew amid bipartisan pushback.
The president made the announcement Friday, lauding Barr as an individual capable of bringing “the expertise and experience necessary for this important position at a critical time for our economy and families across the country.”
“I know that rising prices and inflation are straining families’ budgets,” Biden said in a statement. “While I’m doing everything in my power to lower prices for families, the Federal Reserve plays a critical role in fighting inflation and Barr will make a strong Vice Chair Supervision, joining my other nominees for the Federal Reserve that the Senate is considering.”

11. Bidens Paid Less Taxes in 2021 than 2020 Despite Earning More Income (breitbart.com)
President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill paid less federal taxes in 2021 than in 2020, despite the couple earning more income in 2021.
In 2021, Joe and Jill Biden reported $610,702 in earned income and paid 24.6 percent in federal taxes. In the year prior, they reported $607,336 in earnings. Despite the nearly $4,000 increase in income, the Biden family paid almost $7,000 less in federal income tax for 2021.
The Bidens paid a $157,414 tax bill in 2020, compared to $150,439 in federal taxes for 2021. The couple also paid $30,765 in Delaware state taxes, and Jill Biden paid $2,721 in Virginia state taxes, according to the couple’s joint tax return.

With the government showing its weakness in protecting the general welfare of its citizens in border security, disease control, Islamic infiltration, economic policy, privacy, and more, it is easy for many to develop fear and depression. Please be reminded that the government is not God. Socialists, progressives, communists, or whatever “ists” the current Administration calls itself, it is neither God nor a replacement for God. There is only one true God as Christ said in Mark 12:29, “The first of all the commandments is, “Hear O Israel; The LORD our GOD is ONE LORD.” The government shall rest upon the LORD’s shoulders, not man’s. Government is not God. Do not fear.
Christ said in Matthew 10:28, “And fear not them who kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” You see, with all the reports that this administration causing inflation at record levels, helping Iran get nuclear weapons, refusing to protect the borders, encouraging sexual exploitation of our children and more, you should be welled up with a righteous anger, but not full of fear. Even in those days leading up to the LORD’s return, Christ told us in Matthew 10:19, “But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak.” You have God-given courage within you. Russian military releases alleged details
on Israeli strike in Syria

|
The Russian military has released what it claims are details of a recent Israeli air strike on targets in the Damascus region, Ynet reported on Sunday. The report attributed the release to a desire in Moscow to retaliate for condemnations of Russia’s actions in Ukraine by Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid.
Citing Russian media reports, Ynet said senior Russian military officer Oleg Zhuravlev, the deputy chief of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the Opposing Parties in Syria, had revealed that two Israeli F-16 fighter jets fired two guided missiles from the Golan Heights at targets in the Damascus area on Thursday night.
According to the Russian claims, one of the missiles was destroyed by a Russian-made Buk M2E air defense system in the possession of Assad regime forces, while the other caused material damage.
Earlier, Russia condemned Israel over what it described as “anti-Russian” rhetoric from Lapid. (JNS) Read more.

The latest court filings by Special Counsel John Durham once again raise hope that justice may eventually be served in the Russiagate collusion hoax that was used to libel Donald Trump. Here's the latest:
- At least five Clinton aides are refusing to testify and pleading the Fifth.
- One witness, however, was granted immunity in exchange for his testimony.
- Indicted Clinton attorney Michael Sussmann not only lied to the FBI about the Russia collusion hoax, he lied to the CIA too.
- The CIA wasn't buying it, however. The agency concluded in 2017 that the data he provided was likely fake, "not technically plausible" and "user-created."
It's worth remembering that the last point is not necessarily new information. Previously declassified memos show that the CIA knew in 2016 that Hillary Clinton approved a scheme to "vilify Donald Trump by stirring up a scandal claiming interference by the Russian security services."
Nevertheless, the Deep State ran with this false narrative and did its best to help frame Donald Trump and undermine his presidency.

Science Confirms That Life Flashes Before the Eyes Upon Death

It’s been an age-old trope in literature and film but now brain scans suggest it’s true.
It’s been an age-old trope in works of literature, poetry, and art for ages, but now science confirms it’s true: Life does indeed flash before your eyes when you die.
When an 87-year-old epilepsy patient unexpectedly passed away during a brain scan, the scan found that his brain seemed to replay memories in the 30 seconds before and after his heart stopped beating, according to a recent study published in Frontiers in Aging Neuroscience.
The patient, whose name was kept private, suffered a heart attack, and due to his do-not-resuscitate status, the scientists were able to track his brain waves throughout the final moments of his life. The scan was conducted by an international team of 13 neuroscientists led by Raul Vicente of the University of Tartu in Estonia.
The scientists were originally conducting electroencephalography (EEG) scans on the patient to detect and treat seizures. When he unexpectedly died, the EEG machine kept running, providing the scientists a first-of-its-kind glimpse into the brain activity of a dying human. Read More

'If the Good Lord Made You a Boy, You are a Boy': Alabama Gov. Signs 2 Transgender Bills

Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey has signed a pair of bills she says will protect children and promote common sense throughout the state by banning transgender treatments for minors and requiring restrooms and locker rooms to be divided by biological sex.“There are very real challenges facing our young people, especially with today’s societal pressures and modern culture,” Ivey said in a statement. “I believe very strongly that if the Good Lord made you a boy, you are a boy, and if he made you a girl, you are a girl.”
Ivey signed the two bills Friday. One bill, SB184, makes it a crime for doctors to prescribe puberty blockers and hormones to children and perform sex-change surgeries. Among the surgeries prohibited on minors are castrations, vasectomies and hysterectomies. “We should … protect our children from these radical, life-altering drugs and surgeries when they are at such a vulnerable stage in life,” Ivey said. A second bill, HB322, requires public schools to divide restrooms, locker rooms, changing rooms and shower rooms by biological sex.
The Alabama legislature included legislative findings in SB 184 criticizing the issuance of hormone blockers to minors as an “unproven” science that delivers “numerous harmful effects,” such as diminished bone density. “[T]he full effect of puberty blockers on brain development and cognition are yet unknown, though reason for concern is now present,” the findings state.
Cross-sex hormones bring increased risks of “cardiovascular disease, thromboembolic stroke, asthma, COPD, and cancer,” the findings say. Children are not mature enough to make such life-altering decisions, the legislating findings assert. (Christian Headlines) Read more.
