JD Vance fulfills promise to celebrate his mother’s 10-year sobriety at White House

WASHINGTON — Vice President JD Vance stood at the head of the table in the Roosevelt Room during one of the most significant moments of his life, joined by his mother, Beverly Aikins. Despite the presence of about 20 family members and friends, including his wife, Usha, and their three children, there was a brief moment when it felt like only JD and his mother existed as their eyes met and locked. “I remember when I gave my RNC convention speech, which was the craziest thing, and I even said during the speech that we would have your 10-year medallion ceremony at the White House,” Vance said, smiling as he motioned around the historic West Wing meeting room named after two former presidents. “Well, here we are. And you made it, and we made it. And most importantly, you’re celebrating a very, very big milestone. And I’m just very proud of you,” he said as he teared up, adding, “I’m, I’m gonna try not to cry here.”
For everyone in attendance who had traveled from Kentucky and Ohio to share this important milestone with Aikins and Vance, the word “here” wasn’t just significant because they were in the White House conference room across from the Oval Office. The word “here” also meant that Aikins had survived the addiction that had left her and her son’s life in turmoil for decades. Sitting to her son’s left as her two grandsons intermittently sat beside her or on her lap, she listened as he recalled her story of recovery, redemption, and hope with the watchful eye of President Theodore Roosevelt’s Rough Rider portrait above him. “When I think about everything you’ve accomplished over the last 10 years and the fact that when I was thinking about becoming a father, I didn’t know whether you would live long enough to have a relationship with my kids. And now here they are, almost 8, 5, and 3, and you’re the best grandmother that these kids could ever ask for,” he said as both son and mother’s eyes welled. It is really an amazing thing to watch. It is one of the great blessings of becoming a father, is that I’ve been able to see these kids develop the love and the affection for you and to see it in return. Ecuador Reelects Trump-Friendly

President of Ecuador Daniel Noboa was reelected for a four-year term in a runoff election on Sunday, defeating establishment socialist candidate Luisa González with a more than 11-point lead.
Sunday’s election – which local pollsters and media declared too close to call in the days leading up to it as the candidates were “virtually tied” following an extremely close first round – concluded with the reelection of Noboa.
The 37-year-old outsider and Ecuador’s youngest-ever president – who initially campaigned as a climate conscious center-leftist and has since refocused his efforts against organized crime – won what local media is reporting as the biggest landslide since Ecuador’s return to democracy on 1979. Noboa was a relative ideological unknown when he first ran for president, winning in a special election fraught with violence in which frontrunner Fernando Villavicencio was assassinated following a crowded campaign event in 2023.
Noboa has prioritized fighting criminal gangs and, in the process, improved relations with the United States. He attended President Donald Trump’s second inauguration and visited the White House in late March, reportedly asking Trump for help to fight crime.
Sunday also marked the second time a president was reelected in Ecuador since the South American nation returned to democracy after socialist former president and fugitive convicted felon Rafael Correa vacated the position in 2017. (Breitbart) Read more here.

Texas Rep to Head House Select Cartel Task Force
|

|
U.S. Representative Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) will head a new House Cartel Task Force, which will function under the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI).
House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) and HPSCI Chairman Rick Crawford announced the formation of the Cartel Task Force on Friday. According to a statement from HPSCI, the task force’s mission is to help House Republicans build consensus with the U.S. Senate and the Trump administration on combating the threat posed by various cartels in the Western Hemisphere.
In July 2023, then-House Speaker Kevin McCarthy tapped Crenshaw to had a new Congressional Task force focused on combating the deadly Mexican drug cartels. This year, Crenshaw asked Speaker Johnson to designate the committee as a select committee of the House. He repeatedly promoted the use of military force against Mexican cartels and pushed early on for their designation as Foreign Terrorist Organizations.
“I’m glad to see Chairman Crawford build on Republicans’ promise to secure the border by establishing a new Cartel Task Force, led by Congressman Dan Crenshaw. President Biden handed operational control of our southern border to Mexican drug cartels and left Americans with the worst border catastrophe in our nation’s history. President Trump’s swift work to end the lawlessness and reestablish control has proven that strong leadership matters,” said Speaker Johnson.
“Now it is the responsibility of Congress to ensure this good work can continue by providing the President with the tools he needs to dismantle the drug cartels for good. No one has worked harder on this important issue than Congressman Crenshaw, and I am grateful he is willing to continue leading at this pivotal time,” continued Speaker Johnson.
Crenshaw responded to the appointments, saying, “I’m honored to be entrusted by Speaker Johnson and Chairman Crawford to lead this critical effort to defeat the Mexican cartels. For the past two years, my Cartel Task Force has conducted in-depth research on what it will take to eliminate this grave threat to our country.”
“With President Trump back in the White House, now is the time to act to ensure that the Administration has the tools and resources it needs to take the fight directly to the cartels that are ravaging our neighborhoods and killing American kids with fentanyl,” the Texas congressman concluded. Chicago Cancels Cinco de Mayo Parade

Event organizers for Chicago’s Cinco de Mayo parade have canceled this year’s festivities over fears Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers might attend and round up attendees for deportation.
The planners placed the blame squarely on President Donald Trump’s immigration policies, which they claim have created trepidation in the migrant community despite their popularity among U.S. voters.
“Our people are scared. It’s not much to celebrate,” Hector Escobar — president of the Casa Puebla & Cermak Road Chamber of Commerce, which was helping to organize the Mexican parade — told ABC 7 Chicago.
Escobar said that some people in his community do not even want to go to work because they worry that they might encounter ICE officers. He admitted that he was fearful of creating an opportunity for ICE actions through the gathering, adding, “We don’t want to have any confrontation or having people taken away from the festival, from the parade to custody.”
Escobar noted that half of the event’s sponsors had already signaled their reluctance to participate this year before planners decided to cancel the cultural celebration.
“We could have done it with the 50% of the sponsorship, which is great, but it’s not, again, about money. It’s just more about the safety,” he said. (Breitbart) Read more here.

1. Hamas Says Lost Contact With Group Holding Israeli-US Hostage Alexander - Algemeiner
The armed wing of Hamas said on Tuesday it had lost contact with a group of terrorists holding Israeli-American hostage Edan Alexander in the Gaza Strip.
Abu Ubaida, the armed wing‘s spokesperson, said on the social media platform Telegram that it lost contact after the Israeli army attacked the place where the terrorists were holding Alexander, who is a New Jersey native and a 21-year-old soldier in the Israeli army.
Abu Ubaida did not say where in Gaza Alexander was purportedly held. Hamas, the Palestinian terrorist group that has controlled Gaza for nearly two decades, later released a video warning hostages’ families that their “children will return in black coffins with their bodies torn apart from shrapnel from your army.”
Hamas has previously blamed Israel for the deaths of hostages held in Gaza, including as a direct result of military operations, while also acknowledging on at least one occasion that a hostage was killed by a guard. It said the guard had acted against instructions. (Read more)

2. PM Netanyahu: 'We're fighting for our existence and our future' - Israel National News
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday visited the northern Gaza Strip together with Defense Minister Israel Katz, IDF Chief-of-Staff Lt.-Gen. Eyal Zamir, Head of Southern Command Maj.-Gen. Yaniv Asor, and division and brigade commanders.
The Prime Minister received a security briefing from the area commanders on the intensive IDF activity to free the hostages and defeat Hamas in Gaza.
Prime Minister Netanyahu and Defense Minister Katz then spoke with division, brigade and battalion commanders, as well as with reservist and conscript fighters, and emphasized the importance of continuing the military pressure on the Hamas terrorist organization.

3. Jordan arrests 16 people with Hamas connections for plotting to destabilize kingdom - World Israel News
Jordanian authorities announced on Tuesday that they arrested 16 people with Hamas connections for smuggling weapons and attempting to destabilize the kingdom.
The officials said the suspects were “undermining national security and creating chaos within the country.”
The individuals connected to Hamas were found to have been manufacturing missiles with materials obtained from abroad and possessing explosives. (Read more)

4. IDF to use Vulcan cannons to intercept drones - Israel Hayom
Israel's security establishment has decided to return the decades-old Vulcan system to active duty. Originally developed for use against aircraft, the Vulcan has not been operational in the Israel Defense Forces for 20 years. Now, it's making a comeback as part of efforts to counter the growing threat posed by drones, particularly along the Lebanese border. Makor Rishon has learned that three systems have already become operational, and five more are expected to be deployed by August, bringing the total number of active Vulcans in the IDF to eight.
The Vulcan is a 20-millimeter Gatling gun, mounted on an armored personnel carrier. It has a firing rate of up to 60 rounds per second—3,600 rounds per minute. Developed in the US, the system entered service in the IDF in 1975, following lessons from the 1973 Yom Kippur War. Over the years, it was upgraded into a version dubbed "Makhbat," which included Stinger missiles and advanced surveillance systems. The Vulcan was retired in 2006 after the Second Lebanon War, as more advanced systems like the Iron Dome took precedence.
Since the start of the Swords of Iron War, which has involved extensive drone and UAV threats across nearly all fronts, the IDF has encountered a challenge that has become common globally: the difficulty of intercepting small, sophisticated drones, especially those entering from Lebanon. These drones often carry out "suicide" missions, crashing into targets and detonating on impact. They fly at low altitudes, making them hard for air defense systems to detect and intercept. The Iron Dome, for example, is designed primarily for rockets and missiles and is less effective against such targets. (Read more)

5. Court reveals Shin Bet probe, prompting abuse of power claims - JNS
An Israeli court lifted a gag order on Tuesday from a criminal investigation within the Shin Bet security service, which critics called the latest abuse of power by its topmost officers against the government.
According to the details cleared for publication by the Lod District Court, a Shin Bet officer has been under arrest for the past week, allegedly for stealing classified material and leaking it to a journalist and a cabinet minister.
The leak was to expose an attempt by Shin Bet Director Ronen Bar to demonstrate without evidence that the far-right was taking over the Israel Police to hurt the cabinet minister in charge of it, said the journalist Amit Segal. (Read more)

1. High School Calls Cops on Student for Asking Why There Aren’t American Flags in Classrooms [WATCH] - Lifezette.com
A high school senior in Baltimore County has filed a lawsuit after being suspended for raising concerns about the absence of American flags in classrooms at Towson High School, citing what he believes to be a violation of state education policy and his constitutional rights.
Parker Jensen, a senior at Towson High School and an aspiring U.S. Marine, was suspended for seven days after he visited the Baltimore County Board of Education to inquire about the lack of flags in school classrooms.
According to a report by WBFF-TV, Jensen’s visit resulted in the police being called to the scene, with three officers responding to the school board headquarters.
In the recording, Muth informs Jensen that he is being suspended, effective immediately.
Jensen’s suspension stemmed from his attempt to speak with school officials about their compliance with Maryland Education Code and Baltimore County Public Schools policy, which both mandate that the United States flag be displayed in every classroom.
“I just wanted to know why the flag wasn’t in our classrooms,” Jensen told WBFF. (Read more)

2. Salvadoran President Won’t Send Deported Illegal Alien Back to US - Daily Signal
El Salvador’s president, Nayib Bukele, will not release Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia, an illegal alien deported from the U.S. to El Salvador. “How can I return him to the United States?” Bukele said when asked whether he would return Abrego Garcia, who had been living in Maryland until March. “Can I smuggle him into the United States, or what do I do? Of course I’m not going to do it. The question is preposterous,” Bukele told reporters while sitting next to President Donald Trump in the Oval Office during a visit to the White House on Monday.
After Abrego Garcia was deported to El Salvador, a federal judge ordered the Trump administration to bring the illegal alien back to the U.S. on grounds that the man had “protected legal status” in the U.S. and was deported due to an “administrative error.”
“I don’t have the power to return him to the United States,” the El Salvador president said, adding that he also will not release him onto the streets of his own country. “We’re not really fond of releasing terrorists inside of our country,” Bukele said.

3. Fact-Checking 4 Claims By Opponents of the SAVE Act - Daily Signal
Democrats contend the SAVE Act, short for Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act, would lead to mass voter suppression of women and minorities.
The House passed a measure requiring proof of citizenship for voter registration on Thursday. The bill gained four Democrat votes in the House vote Thursday. The Republican-controlled House passed the measure sponsored by Rep. Chip Roy, R-Texas, last year.
But the then-Democrat-controlled Senate didn’t vote on the bill. Republicans now have a Senate majority, but not enough to override a Democrat filibuster. However, the GOP could apply public pressure, as polling has shown that more than 70% of Americans oppose proposals to allow noncitizens to vote, while more than 80% support requiring proof of identity at the ballot box.

4. 'Hiding intent': U.S. senator wants DOJ to probe new 'Muslim city' planned in red-state Texas! - WND
A corporation wants to build a Muslim community in Texas, and U.S. Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, is asking for a Department of Justice investigation to find out if there are violations of federal laws involved in the scheme.
The plan is for the project, led by the East Plano Islamic Center and in Josephine, Texas, is for the community to have single-family homes, townhomes, apartments, a mosque, a K-12 faith-based school, assisted living and other things. And it would cater to Muslims.
In a letter to the DOJ, Cornyn asked for an investigation whether the plans would violate the constitutional rights of Jewish and Christian residents by "prohibiting them from living in the community and discriminating against them."
The senator wrote to Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon and said, "Religious discrimination, whether explicit or implicit, is unconstitutional under the First and Fourteenth Amendments. Religious freedom is a cornerstone of our nation's values, and I am concerned this community potentially undermines this vital protection."

5. Joni Ernst Proposes to Sell Millions of Dollars of IRS Firearms to Pay Off National Debt - Breitbart
Sen. Joni Ernst (R-IA) on Monday introduced legislation that would sell off millions of dollars of the Internal Revenue Service’s (IRS) firearms to pay for the national debt.
As America approaches Tax Day on Tuesday, Ernst introduced the Why Does the IRS Needs Guns Act to reform how the agency handles firearms. The Iowa senator introduced the legislation after reports from Open the Books have suggested the IRS would be one of the top 50 largest police departments based on its headcount and stockpiling of firearms and ammunition.
“Why is the IRS wasting millions of our tax dollars stockpiling guns and ammo?” Ernst asked rhetorically in a written statement.
She continued, “This is especially concerning, given the history of partisan witch hunts within the agency, and the fact it is more common for IRS agents to accidentally fire their weapon, than to do so intentionally. I am selling off the agency’s firearms, using the proceeds to pay down the bloated national debt, and recommending firearm safety courses for these tax collectors.”
“Since 2006, the IRS spent $35.2 million on guns, ammunition, and military-style equipment (CPI adjusted). The years 2020 and 2021 were peak years at the IRS for purchasing weaponry and gear. Just since the pandemic started, the IRS has purchased $10 million in weaponry and gear,” Open the Books wrote. (Read more)

- Holy King, it seems outrageous that the I.R.S. should have stockpiles of weapons and intend for their agents to use them . . . against the U.S. citizens? This is not right and we pray for Senator Ernst to have great favor and authority with pushing this legislation through quickly and strongly, in Jesus name. It seems quite reasonable to use the money to pay down the debt and remove the weapons from the hands of the government. 6. Elon Musk’s Tesla Suspends Orders for American-Made EVs in China as Trade War Escalates - Breitbart
Tesla has halted new orders for its Model S and Model X vehicles in China as the communist country and the USA exchange blows in an escalating trade war. Unlike several other Tesla EVs, Elon Musk’s company exports the S and X models to China from the United States.
Reuters reports that as ongoing trade tensions between the United States and China, Tesla has suspended taking new orders for its Model S and Model X vehicles on its Chinese website. Both models are manufactured in the US and imported to China, making them vulnerable to the recent tariff hikes imposed by both countries.
China raised its tariffs on US imports to 125 percent on Friday, following President Donald Trump’s decision to increase duties on Chinese goods to 145 percent. This escalation in the trade war has made US-made cars more expensive for Chinese consumers compared to locally produced electric vehicles.
The impact of the suspension was evident on Tesla’s Chinese website, where new orders for the Model S and Model X were no longer available. Although Tesla did not provide an official reason for this decision, the timing strongly suggests a direct correlation with the intensifying trade disputes. (Read more)

Professional Protesters

April 5th saw thousands of “demonstrators” across the country protesting President Trump’s policies, giving leftist news organizations a hay day of reporting and criticism of the president. What they didn’t report was that a large slate of socialist- and communist-inspired groups paid for the protests and hired people to actually do the “protesting.” This type of gaslighting the American public has become commonplace in society, fueling the ignorant and apathetic masses perceptions against Trump and America. This is all part of a growing revolution in the name of “democracy” and resistance against anything that would strengthen America, provide jobs and generate individual success.

Judge blocks Trump from revoking legal status for 530,000+ migrants who flew into US via Biden program

A federal judge on Monday blocked the Trump administration from revoking the legal status and work permits of the more than 530,000 migrants from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela who flew into the United States during former President Joe Biden's time in office.
The migrants came to the U.S. under Biden's controversial CHNV mass humanitarian parole program. In her order, Judge Indira Talwani, an Obama appointee, wrote that each migrant needs to have an individualized, case-by-case review.
"The Termination of Parole Processes for Cubans, Haitians, Nicaraguans, and Venezuelans, 90 Fed. Reg. 13611 (Mar. 25, 2025), is hereby STAYED pending further court order insofar as it revokes, without case-by-case review, the previously granted parole and work authorization issued to noncitizens paroled into the UnitedStates pursuant to parole programs for noncitizens from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela (the "CHNV parole programs") prior to the noncitizen’s originally stated parole end date," she wrote.
Officials with the Department of Homeland Security and the Trump administration said Talwani essentially ruled that Trump can't use his own executive authority, the same authority Biden used, to revoke the parole that Biden granted.

An illegal alien from China who was sentenced last year for setting fire to a historic Alabama church in 2021 is now accused of escaping the federal prison where she was serving her sentence.
On September 30, 2021, 31-year-old Xiaoquin Yan of China set four fires in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church Montgomery in Montgomery, Alabama. Yan caused tens of thousands of dollars of damage to the church, which was founded in 1829; its existing sanctuary has been around since 1916.
Yan had been scoping the church out for months prior to the fire and had referred to the church’s pastors as “rich white men.”
After her conviction, Yan was sentenced to serve 102 months at the Federal Correctional Institution in Danbury, Connecticut, in March of last year. Yan first arrived in the United States on an F-1 student visa but overstayed her visa and had been living as an illegal alien.
This month, a federal grand jury in New Haven, Connecticut, indicted Yan for allegedly escaping the federal prison. According to the indictment, Yan fled the prison on Dec. 10, 2024, but was arrested by agents later that day.

Trump says he expects to make a decision on Iran’s nuclear program ‘very quickly’

Asked about US talks with Iran on its nuclear program, US President Donald Trump told reporters Sunday that he expects a decision to be made soon, ahead of a second round of talks set to take place this Saturday in Rome.
“We’ll be making a decision on Iran very quickly,” Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One on his way from Florida back to the White House.
His comments came a day after talks in Oman, which included a conversation between US envoy Steve Witkoff and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, the highest-level Iran-US negotiations since the collapse of the 2015 nuclear accord. (Times of Israel) Read more here.

The 5.2 magnitude earthquake that shook Southern California on Monday may have provoked a collective shrug from humans in the region, but a few elephants in San Diego took the tremor very seriously.
A video taken at the San Diego Zoo shows the action unfold: Five African elephants are basking in the morning sun until the camera begins to shake and a tremor sends the animals scrambling toward one another.
A few moments later, almost in unison, the elephants form a tight circle, with the older elephants surrounding the younger calves. The herd remains in formation through the end of the video, facing outward with ears extended, as if on high alert for threats.
The earthquake, which struck around 10 a.m. on Monday, had its epicenter near Julian, Calif., about 60 miles northeast of San Diego. There were no reports of injuries or damage, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office.
The response from the elephants was a defensive position known as “bunching,” and is a typical reaction to threats, said Joyce Poole, a conservation biologist with a doctorate in elephant behavior from Cambridge University. “They feel more secure when they are close together,” she said. Read More
