Congress Summons Boeing CEO amid Whistleblower Claims on 787, 777

Departing Boeing CEO David Calhoun has been summoned to testify before a Senate subcommittee about the embattled company’s jetliners amid fresh safety-related allegations from a whistleblower.
Attorneys for the whistleblower, Sam Salehpour, accuse the company of putting profit over safety — and retaliating against him after he raised concerns by “involuntarily” transferring him to the 777 program, AFP reports.
The panel said it will hold a hearing next week featuring Calhoun, who is set to exit as chief executive at the end of 2024, to address safety concerns involving the manufacture and assembly of the 787 Dreamliner.
The subcommittee said in a letter that those problems could create “potentially catastrophic safety risks.”
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) confirmed the investigation after the claims were outlined in a New York Times article describing charges from Salehpour, who has been at Boeing more than 10 years.
“Rather than heeding his warnings, Boeing prioritized getting the planes to market as quickly as possible, despite the known, well-substantiated issues Mr. Salehpour raised,” said attorneys Debra Katz and Lisa Banks, who pointed to “critical defects” on nearly 1,500 Boeing planes.
Boeing, which has been under scrutiny following a slew of safety problems, released a detailed defense of the aircraft, saying it is “fully confident” in the Dreamliner and denying charges it retaliated against the worker. (Breitbart) Read more.

Anti-Israel agitators shut down Senate cafeteria; around 50 arrested

Dozens arrested after incident inside Dirksen Senate Office Building
|

More than 50 people were arrested Tuesday after the Senate cafeteria was shut down by anti-Israel protesters chanting "Senate can’t eat until Gaza eats!"
The U.S. Capitol Police confirmed to Fox News that those arrested inside the Dirksen Senate Office Building in Washington, D.C., were charged with Crowding, Obstructing, or Incommoding.
"It is illegal to demonstrate inside any of the Congressional Buildings," Capitol Police said in a statement.
A video obtained by Fox News shows demonstrators walking through the hallways of the building, raising their hands and saying, "Children are starving in Gaza" and "People are dying in Gaza."
One woman was wearing a shirt that read, "Biden's legacy = Genocide."
A source told Fox News that Capitol Police at one point shouted, "Everybody out or be placed under arrest," to which a protester replied, "This is the house of the people!" (Read more)

Biden calls on Israel to cease fire, says PM’s war approach a ‘mistake’

The Spanish-language television network Univision aired an hour-long, pre-recorded interview on Tuesday in which U.S. President Joe Biden criticized Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
“I think what he’s doing is a mistake,” Biden said. “I don’t agree with his approach.”
“So I what I’m calling for is for the Israelis to just call for a ceasefire, allow for the next six, eight weeks total access to all food and medicine going into the country,” Biden said.

1. Iran may retaliate against Israel in a matter of days – Bloomberg - World Israel News
Contrary to an earlier report by CNN, Bloomberg reports that Iran may be planning to attack Israel in a matter of days in retaliation for an airstrike in Damascus that killed two IRGC generals and other terrorists.
Bloomberg reported that both US and Israeli intelligence indicated that an Iran attack may be imminent.
The report indicates that high-precision missiles or drones could be used in the attack.
This contradicts a CNN report that US officials believed Iran would refrain from attacking Israel directly for fear of evoking a dramatic response from the US. (Read more)

Israel will attack Iran directly if the Islamist regime in Tehran targets the Jewish state from Iranian soil, Israel’s top diplomat warned on Wednesday.
“If Iran attacks from its own territory, Israel will respond and attack in Iran,” Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz wrote on X/Twitter in both Hebrew and Farsi, while tagging Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Less than an hour later, Khamenei tweeted what appeared to be a response to Katz, echoing what he said in a speech earlier in the day to mark the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Fitr. “When the Zionist regime attacks an Iranian consulate in Syria, it is as if it has attacked Iranian soil,” he wrote. “That malicious regime has made a wrong move. It should be punished, and it will be punished.”
Khamenei was referring to an airstrike on Iran’s consulate in Damascus, Syria last week that Iranian officials have attributed to Israel. The strike killed seven members of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC), a US-designated terrorist organization, including two senior commanders. (Read more)

3. Three sons of Hamas leader Haniyeh killed in Israeli airstrike - Jerusalem Post
Three sons of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh were killed in an IAF airstrike in Gaza on Wednesday, an anonymous senior Israeli diplomatic official said, while at the same time there were widespread denials that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, and war cabinet minister Benny Gantz knew about the attack.
It was unclear if the later denial was legitimate or if Netanyahu or some other officials may have known about it, but decided afterward that the cost of the attack to the hostage negotiations or with being rebuked by the US was too high to take credit. In general, the IDF has been careful in such situations, especially with hostage talks ongoing, to clear top level of attacks with the political echelon.
All three sons were part of Hamas’s so-called military wing, Izzadin al-Qassam Brigades, and Israel is ready to go after any member of Hamas involved in violence, the official said.

4. Sources confirm Defense Ministry computers hacked - Israel Hayom
A hacker group claimed a few days ago that they breached the computers of the Defense Ministry and managed to obtain sensitive information. The data has so far been published in various Telegram groups, but security sources confirmed to Israel HayomTuesday that there was indeed a breach into the ministry's computers. The officials refused to elaborate further, and the Defense Ministry declined to comment.
The attacking group posted on Telegram that it succeeded in stealing data from the Defense Ministry's computer systems and released a video purportedly showing how it managed to hack into various Defense Ministry systems and access the information contained within.
Among other things, the terrorists published several documents allegedly belonging to the Defense Ministry's communications and orders, offering the full data for sale on various forums in exchange for 50 bitcoins, equivalent to 12.5 million shekels. (Read more)

5. Hamas tells negotiators it doesn’t have 40 Israeli hostages needed for first round of ceasefire - CNN
Hamas has indicated it is currently unable to identify and track down 40 Israeli hostages needed for the first phase of a ceasefire deal, according to an Israeli official and a source familiar with the discussions, raising fears that more hostages may be dead than are publicly known.
The framework that has been laid out by negotiators says that during a first six-week pause in the fighting, Hamas should release 40 of the remaining hostages, including all the women as well as sick and elderly men. In exchange, hundreds of Palestinian prisoners would be released from Israeli prisons.
Hamas has told international mediators – which include Qatar and Egypt - it does not have 40 living hostages who match those criteria for release, both sources said.
CNN’s record of the conditions of the hostages also suggests there are fewer than 40 living hostages who meet the proposed criteria. (Read more)

1. Judge Orders Witness Names to Remain Secret in Trump Classified Docs Case - Epoch Times
The federal judge overseeing the classified documents case against former President Donald Trump has ordered that the names of potential witnesses remain secret, marking a victory for special counsel Jack Smith.
In a 24-page ruling on Tuesday, Judge Aileen Cannon said potential government witnesses’ names will be redacted in the case involving President Trump’s handling of classified documents after leaving office in 2021, in line with Mr. Smith’s request, which had cited safety concerns. However, he will still need to justify the redactions of every witness’s identity, the judge ruled.
Judge Cannon also ruled that significant parts of the substantive witness statements to investigators may still be made public, as they do not identify the witnesses or other third parties mentioned. (Read more)

2. House Conservatives Tank FISA Bill in Blow to Speaker Johnson - Epoch Times
House conservatives on April 10 tanked a procedural vote to advance a surveillance power reauthorization bill in protest against its lack of warrant requirements. The development is another blow to Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) who already faces an ouster threat from Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.).
In a 193-226 vote, lawmakers voted not to advance Rep. Laurel Lee’s (R-Fla.) “Reforming Intelligence and Securing America” Act, which would extend the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act’s (FISA’s) controversial Section 702 for a period of five years. The warrantless surveillance power is due to lapse on April 19.
While such procedural votes normally advance along party lines, 19 Republicans joined all Democrats to block the bill, employing a tactic increasingly used by GOP factions to apply pressure on leadership.
It’s yet another failure for House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.), who in February had to pull a similar bill from the floor. (Read more)

3. At least 3 people shot at Philadelphia event marking end of Ramadan after rival gangs exchange gunfire - New York Post
At least three people — including two juveniles– were shot when rival gangs opened fire during an Eid al-Fitr event in West Philadelphia on Wednesday afternoon, police said. Over 1,000 people – including families with children – are believed to have been at the outdoor event to celebrate Eid, an Islamic holiday that marks the end of Ramadan.
Around 30 gunshots erupted around 2:30 p.m. at the public celebration. “There appear to be two factions within the park who [were] exchanging gunfire,” Police Commissioner Kevin Bethel said.
One of the people shot was a juvenile who pulled out a gun at the event near the Philadelphia Masjid mosque and the Sister Clara Muhammad School. Police shot the 15-year-old twice when he wouldn’t drop the weapon before rushing him to a hospital.

4. Exclusive Fox video shows illegal immigrants, smugglers swarming New Mexico hotspot - Fox News
Fox News video from the southern bordershows a flood of illegal migrant activity in New Mexico, while elsewhere along the border agents are catching sex offenders and other criminals attempting to enter the United States.
Footage taken by Fox’s team in New Mexico showed men walking around the border wall in Sunland, New Mexico, before one takes off into the United States. Elsewhere, coyotes and scouts could be seen monitoring Fox’s crew and Border Patrol agents.
Separate footage showed Border Patrol busting migrants in the desert after they crossed into the United States. One Border Patrol agent told Fox Border Patrol has lost control of nearby Mt. Cristo Rey to human smugglers, "It's not ours. … It's theirs," the agent said. (Read more)

5. Consumer prices rose 3.5% from a year ago in March, more than expected - CNBC
The consumer price index accelerated at a faster-than-expected pace in March, pushing inflation higher and likely dashing hopes that the Federal Reserve will be able to cut interest rates anytime soon.
The CPI, a broad measure of goods and services costs across the economy, rose 0.4% for the month, putting the 12-month inflation rate at 3.5%, or 0.3 percentage point higher than in February, the Labor Department’s Bureau of Labor Statistics reportedWednesday. Economists surveyed by Dow Jones had been looking for a 0.3% gain and a 3.4% year-over-year level.
Excluding volatile food and energy components, the core CPI also accelerated 0.4% on a monthly basis while rising 3.8% from a year ago, compared with respective estimates for 0.3% and 3.7%. (Read more)

President Biden and Vice President Harris’ re-election campaign has announced a new push to win over a group of voters that it claims is "a force to be reckoned with." The initiative comes just seven months ahead of the president’s rematch with the presumptive Republican nominee, former President Donald Trump.
As Biden seeks to win another term in the White House despite facing historic low approval ratings, Team Biden-Harris announced the launch of "Out for Biden-Harris." The campaign describes the program as a national effort to mobilize LGBTQ+ voters and community members across the country.
In a statement, Biden-Harris 2024 campaign manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez said, "LGBTQ+ voters are a force to be reckoned with."
"They were critical to our victory in 2020, and they will be critical to winning again this November," Chavez Rodriguez added. 7. GOP Rep. Presses FCC Over George Soros’ Takeover Of Second-Largest Radio Company In U.S. - The Daily Caller
New York Republican Rep. Nick Langworthy sent a letter Monday to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), calling on them to investigate liberal billionaire George Soros’ purchase of Audacy, Inc., the nation’s second-largest radio company that holds hundreds of local radio stations.
The Daily Caller first obtained a copy of the letter, in which Langworthy says it is the FCC’s role to regulate radio communications and make sure this does not further Soros’ efforts to control the media and flood local radio with far-left ideology. He calls for the FCC to ensure the protection of consumers and reaffirm the critical role of local radio.
Semafor reported Sunday that Soros’s firm, which is now controlled by Open Society Foundations (OSF), has been investing in radio heavily in the last few years, becoming the largest shareholder in Audacy in February. The outlet reported that Audacy is the second-largest radio company in the U.S. that has over 230 stations. (Read more)

8. U.S. Funneled Nearly $1 Million to Hamas-Linked Charity That Hosted Terror Leader’s Son, Report Says - Free Beacon
The United States Agency for International Development funneled nearly $1 million "to a terror charity in Gaza involved with the son of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh," according to a report.
USAID gave more than $900,000 in taxpayer funds to the Bayader Association for Environment and Development, a humanitarian group based in the Gaza Strip that is said to be "in close cooperation with [the] Hamas regime," according to a report by the Middle East Forum’s Focus on Western Islamism project. The United States awarded the most recent grant on Oct. 1, six days before Hamas launched a terror attack on Israel.
"Bayader is listed in federal spending data as a sub-grantee for USAID, with the government monies first routed through a sponsoring U.S. nonprofit, which are ostensibly required to vet their sub-grantees," according to the report. In February 2023, Bayader reportedly organized an event in the Gaza Strip that included "senior Hamas officials," such as Abdul Salam Haniyeh, the son of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh. (Read more)

IAF kills Hamas ’emergency committee’ leader in central Gaza

An Israeli air strike on Monday night killed a top Hamas terrorist, who headed the organization’s “emergency committee” in the camps of central Gaza.
Hatem Alramery “was a Hamas military-wing operative in the field of projectile launches within the Maghazi Battalion of the Central Camps,” according to the IDF.
Also on Monday, an Israeli Air Force craft eliminated a terrorist in Khan Yunis in southern Gaza who participated in the bloody Oct. 7 invasion of the northwestern Negev.
Israeli forces are conducting targeted attacks in Khan Yunis after nearly all ground forces withdrew from the southern Gaza Strip on Sunday following four months of fighting in the former Hamas stronghold city.
The IDF also said that fighter jets struck a launch position, military compound and underground tunnel shafts after several rockets were fired from the area at Kibbutz Re’im in southern Israel on Monday.
“Throughout the past day, the IAF also struck and destroyed military compounds, launch posts, and numerous terrorist infrastructure sites throughout the Gaza Strip,” the military said.
In the central Strip, troops killed several terrorists in close quarter combat and other terrorists were eliminated in air strikes and by sniper fire. (JNS.org) Read more here.

At least three people — including two juveniles– were shot when rival gangs opened fire during an Eid al-Fitr event in West Philadelphia on Wednesday afternoon, police said.
Over 1,000 people – including families with children – are believed to have been at the outdoor event to celebrate Eid, an Islamic holiday that marks the end of Ramadan.
Around 30 gunshots erupted around 2:30 p.m. at the public celebration.
“There appear to be two factions within the park who [were] exchanging gunfire,” Police Commissioner Kevin Bethel said.
One of the people shot was a juvenile who pulled out a gun at the event near the Philadelphia Masjid mosque and the Sister Clara Muhammad School.
Police shot the 15-year-old twice when he wouldn’t drop the weapon before rushing him to a hospital.
All are expected to survive, but homicide police are investigating the incident because of the “magnitude of the situation.”
Five people have been arrested so far, including the 15-year-old boy who was shot in the shoulder and the leg by a responding police officer when he refused to drop a gun.
The officer grabbed the teen and put him in her patrol car, which she immediately rushed to a local hospital, Fox 29 reported. (New York Post) Read more here.

Immediate Prayer for House Speaker Mike Johnson

Please pray for House Speaker Mike Johnson. Similar to Daniel, the newly-appointed representative is a strong believer gifted with strategic vision and clarity on all fronts. He genuinely leans into God in prayer. And he has worked endlessly to bring a desperately-needed foundation of unity among House leaders.
That said, somehow Speaker Johnson’s refusal to shut down government over a budget deal and Ukraine funding has drawn the anger of Marjorie Taylor Greene. She has publicly threatened to unseat him within the next few days. If she is able to pull enough strings, this unseating could actually occur.
IN AN ELECTION YEAR. At a moment when the Republican House holds the narrowest majority in US history.
I can say with full assurance the American people are completely fed up with the continual cycle of self-sabotage of the Republican Party, at historic moments when the party’s influence is needed the most.
Which truly begs the question. Is this tactic deliberate? Funded by the opposition party maybe? Or even Russia?
Because on Monday, even as MTG threatened to unseat Speaker Johnson she also praised Vladimir Putin for his protection of Christians. She even had the audacity to question Speaker Johnson’s faith, inferring that by supporting Ukraine, he is actually WAGING WAR AGAINST CHRISTIANITY.

Say what?
Let’s get this straight. Is MTG implying Ukraine actually demolished its own churches during the brutal invasion of the nation by Russia? Or maybe they paid Russia to bomb them? sBecause so far at least 660 churches have been decimated in Ukraine, including 206 Protestant congregations. Including 94 Pentecostal/Charismatic congregations.
Friends, Ukraine has been a strategic hub for revival fire and the advancement of the Gospel regionally OVER DECADES. So in reality… Which nation is waging war against Christianity?
I’ll leave the rest of this til tonite. Just understand the seriousness of the threat.
One more thing. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s initial threats came a few weeks ago, just a day after Speaker Johnson invited Prime Minister Netanyahu to address a joint session of Congress. Coincidence?

Polar forests may have just solved a
solar storm mystery
|

The strongest solar flare in recorded history burst into Earth’s atmosphere in 1859, bathing both hemispheres in brilliantly colorful aurorae as it wreaked worldwide havoc on telegraph systems. The celestial chaos was broadly witnessed, but lingering physical evidence of that storm, dubbed the Carrington event, has proven stubbornly elusive — until now, researchers report in the March 16 Geophysical Research Letters.
Ecologist Joonas Uusitalo of the University of Helsinki and his colleagues have identified the first known traces of the Carrington event: atoms of carbon-14 preserved in tree rings in Finland’s far north. Scientists previously hadn’t detected tree ring evidence of this event, although other trees have recorded more powerful solar flares that occurred before modern recordkeeping began, such as in 774 and 993.
Those storms were perhaps 10 times more intense than the one in 1859, Uusitalo says, so it makes sense that they’d leave a stronger signal. Also, he says, the trees in which scientists have previously hunted for clues to the Carrington event have all been located in the mid-latitudes — for example, in Japan, Europe or the United States. But “based on our earlier research, we had this idea that maybe the polar trees are more sensitive to [less powerful storms].” Read More

Chick-fil-A, Still Closed on Sundays

A popular company that closes its restaurants every Sunday and has a corporate goal to “glorify God” set another sales record in 2023, according to new data. Chick-fil-A generated $21.58 billion in sales in 2023, a 14.7 percent increase over 2022 ($18.81 billion) and a 43 percent increase over 2021 ($15 billion), according to Technomic Ignite data cited by Nation’s Restaurant News. Incredibly, the restaurant chain has “essentially doubled its total sales volume since 2018,” the website said. The 14.7 sales growth in 2023 is higher than that of its closest competitors in the chicken category: Popeyes (10 percent, to $5.51 billion) and KFC (1.7 percent, to $5.17 billion), Nation’s Restaurant News said.
Chick-fil-A’s restaurants are closed Sundays, a practice that began in 1946 when its founder, Truett Cathy, closed his first restaurant in Hapeville, Ga., on Sundays. “Having worked seven days a week in restaurants open 24 hours, Truett saw the importance of closing on Sundays so that he and his employees could set aside one day to rest, enjoy time with their families and loved ones or worship if they choose -- a practice we uphold today,” Chick-fil-A’s website says. Its official corporate purpose is to “glorify God by being a faithful steward of all that is entrusted to us” and “to have a positive influence on all who come in contact with Chick-fil-A,” its website says.
