Students Chalk Entire Gospel of John All Over Western Kentucky U: 'I Want Them to See Christ'
|
|
Christian students at Western Kentucky University have found a unique way to reach their fellow students on campus with the Gospel message. Nearly 70 students from Baptist Campus Ministry (BCM), Cru, and Hilltoppers for Christ (HFC) spent last Monday night into Tuesday morning chalking all 879 verses of the Gospel of John. It took about two hours to illustrate and write all 21 chapters within a two mile stretch. After it was done, the volunteers prayed for WKU's students and faculty at Centennial Mall.
"People look for answers in a lot of different things, and I think it's really good to have answers right in front of them," said BCM Vice President Luke Alford. Alford, a senior mechanical engineering major at the school, told Kentucky Times the idea came from an BCM alumni who had seen a similar idea on social media. The idea was submitted to WKU Student Activities and then approved. Students woke up the next morning and could not ignore the message illustrated across their campus. "It's my goal for the year, to get more connected with God," said freshman Ryan Cantabeni. "It's really nice to have some kind of sign showing me to keep doing this." (CBN) Read More Here

- Father, we thank You for the power of the gospel and Your transforming Word, beautifully displayed for a 2-mile stretch, upon the sidewalks of Western Kentucky University. May this loving gesture by Christian students create a life-changing impact upon this campus. We know that whether holy scripture is read in pages of a bible, on bible apps or even beautifully chalked on a college-campus sidewalk, Your Word never comes back void. We ask that You would touch the heart and mind of each individual student who stumbles upon these scriptures and cause them to turn towards You, Abba. May this movement started by campus ministries continue in colleges across our nation! In Jesus Mighty Name-Amen.
- "...So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it." (Isaiah 55:11)

Trump Threatens Iran With Bombing, Secondary Tariffs If It Fails to Make Nuclear Deal
|
|
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian earlier said the Islamic regime is declining direct negotiations with the United States over its fast-track nuclear program.
|
|
President Donald Trump on March 30 raised the prospect of secondary tariffs and military strikes on Iran if Tehran does not reach an agreement with Washington regarding its nuclear program.
Trump reportedly told NBC News via a March 30 telephone interview that U.S. and Iranian officials are in discussions but did not offer further details.
“If they don’t make a deal, there will be bombing,” Trump said. “But there’s a chance that if they don’t make a deal, that I will do secondary tariffs on them like I did four years ago.”
The remarks were made after Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said on March 30 that the Islamic regime is declining direct negotiations with the United States regarding its fast-track nuclear program. The comment was his nation’s response to a letter that Trump sent Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei earlier in March.
Pezeshkian delivered the response via the sultanate of Oman, and left open the chance of indirect negotiations with the United States. Those talks have been stagnant since Trump withdrew the United States from Iran’s nuclear deal with world powers in 2018 during his first term. (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

- Lord God, we continue to pray for President Trump, his administration, and our politicians for an increase of wisdom and discernment through this situation. We come against greed, bribery and deceit, that would try to control the negotiations that they will not stand in Jesus' name. We pray for the leaders of Iran that they would comply with these negotiations; that their hardened hearts would be softened, and that they would choose peace, in Jesus' name, amen.
- “Rescue me, O my God, from the hand of the wicked, from the grasp of the unjust and cruel man. For you, O Lord, are my hope, my trust, O Lord, from my youth. Upon you I have leaned from before my birth; you are he who took me from my mother’s womb. My praise is continually of you.” (Psalm 71:4-6)

Iran threatens to target US-British joint base
in Indian Ocean
|
|
Trump warned that any future attacks from the Houthis, who have targeted US Naval vessels hundreds of times and wreaked havoc with global shipping channels, would be treated as a direct aggression from Iran itself.
|
|
Iran has threatened to retaliate against the joint U.S.-U.K. naval base on Diego Garcia in the Chagos Archipelago if the United States attacks the Islamic Republic, Britain’s The Telegraph reported on Saturday.
“Iran possesses adequate weapons for such an attack from its mainland, such as newer versions of the Khorramshahr missile that have an intermediate range, and the Shahed-136B kamikaze drone with a range of 4,000 kilometers [2,485 miles],” Iranian state media warned, according to the report.
Iran’s Tasnim News Agency reported that Speaker of the Iranian Parliament Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, addressing an Al Quds Day event on Friday, said, “The Americans themselves are aware how vulnerable they are. If they violate Iran’s border, it will be like a spark in the powder keg that would blow up the entire region. Then, their and their allies’ bases will not be safe.”
Diego Garcia, located in the middle of the Indian Ocean, is roughly 5,200 kilometers (3,200 miles) from Tehran. Multiple U.S. B-2 bombers arrived at the island last week.
With a range of 6,900 miles, the B-2 is the only stealth aircraft that can carry the GBU-57, a 30,000-pound “bunker-buster” bomb known as the Massive Ordnance Penetrator, The Wall Street Journal reported on March 27.
The bombers had arrived at the island from their base in Missouri, said a spokesperson for the U.S. Strategic Command, the Journal reported.
“It’s an unusual deployment for the B-2. While Diego Garcia hosts Air Force bombers on a fairly regular basis, B-2s haven’t spent significant time there since 2020. Last August marked the first time in four years that a B-2 even touched down there when a bomber made a quick ‘hot pit’ stop with its engines running,” reported Air & Space Forces Magazine on March 27. - As the corporate body of Christ, we continue to push back the darkness in the Middle East, and we continue to come against all division, strife, plots, schemes and plans of the enemy to create a hostile living environment and war in Jesus' name. We declare "peace be still" over this threat, in Jesus' name! Amen!
- “Through you we push back our enemies; through your name we trample our foes. I put no trust in my bow, my sword does not bring me victory; but you give us victory over our enemies, you put our adversaries to shame. In God we make our boast all day long, and we will praise your name forever.” (Psalm 44:5-8)

Authorities investigate damaging fire at New Mexico’s GOP headquarters
|
|
ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico (AP) — Federal authorities are investigating a fire early Sunday that damaged the entryway to the headquarters of the Republican Party of New Mexico in Albuquerque.
Agents working with local authorities recovered unspecified “incendiary materials” at the scene, said Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives spokesperson Cody Monday. He declined to say what the materials were or to share further details.
Firefighters responded to the fire just before 6 a.m. and brought it under control within about five minutes, according to Lt. Jason Fejer with Albuquerque Fire Rescue.
The building was unoccupied and no one was injured. But the blaze badly burned the entrance and caused extensive smoke damage throughout the office, where three people work full time, according to Fejer and Republican party representatives.
A photo provided by GOP representatives showed the charred entrance of the building with wood and pieces of burned insulation scattered on the ground. A broken and burned door was set to one side.
The GOP office’s security system detected the fire, said New Mexico Republican Party Chair Amy Barela. She credited firefighters with quickly extinguishing the flames and preventing the fire from spreading.
Albuquerque Mayor Tim Keller called arson a cowardly act.
“Politically motivated crimes of any kind are unacceptable, and I am grateful to our fire department for their swift response,” the mayor, a Democrat, said in a statement Sunday afternoon. “This incident is being investigated at the federal level, and I urge anyone with information to report it immediately.”
Barela said GOP representatives also found spray paint on the side of the building about 50 feet (15 meters) from the entrance, saying “ICE=KKK.” Monday, the ATF spokesperson, declined to comment on the graffiti.
Agents from the FBI also were on the scene investigating, according to Fejer. FBI representatives could not be reached immediately for comment. (Breitbart) Read more here.

1. Egypt military buildup in Sinai threatens peace with Israel, source warns - Jerusalem Post
Israel has recently observed a military buildup by Egypt in the Sinai Peninsula, according to a security source who spoke with reporters on Monday.
“Egypt has deployed forces beyond the permitted quota, expanded port facilities, and extended runways at airports,” the source said. The source added that these actions violate the peace agreement between the two nations.
Regarding the entry of Egyptian forces beyond the permitted quota, security officials emphasized that “such actions are reversible – it is not a problem to pull tanks back.” (Read more)

2. Israel confronts Egypt over 'major' peace treaty violation - Israel Hayom
Israel has approached Egypt and the US with a request to begin dismantling military infrastructure constructed by the Egyptian army in Sinai that violates the peace agreement between the countries. A senior security official characterized the Egyptian actions as a "major violation" of the security annex during a conversation with journalists.
The official explained that the entry of military forces into Sinai beyond the quotas agreed upon in the military annex to the peace agreements represents "the smaller problem," since "such actions are reversible. It's not complicated to move tanks backward," the senior official said. He emphasized that this issue ranks high on Defense Minister Israel Katz's priority list, who requested special attention be given to the matter.
The Israeli senior official stressed that Israel remains committed to preserving the peace agreement with Egypt and has no intention of altering its military deployment along the Egyptian border. However, he added that Israel "will not accept the situation." (Read more)

3. Israeli military orders the evacuation of Gaza’s southern city of Rafah - AP News
DEIR AL-BALAH, Gaza Strip (AP) — Israel’s military on Monday issued sweeping evacuation orders covering Rafah and nearby areas, indicating it could soon launch another major ground operation in the Gaza Strip’s southernmost city.
Israel ended its ceasefire with the Hamas militant group and renewed its air and ground war earlier this month. At the beginning of March it cut off all suppliesof food, fuel, medicine and humanitarian aid to the territory’s roughly 2 million Palestinians to pressure Hamas to accept proposed changes to the truce agreement.
Israel’s military ordered Palestinians to head to Muwasi, a sprawl of squalid tent camps along the coast. The orders came during Eid al-Fitr, a normally festive Muslim holiday marking the end of the fasting month of Ramadan.
Last May, Israel launched a major operation in Rafah, on the border with Egypt, leaving large parts in ruins. The military seized a strategic corridor along the border as well as the Rafah crossing with Egypt, Gaza’s only gateway to the outside world that was not controlled by Israel. (Read more)

5. ‘Revealed His Antisemitic Face’: Erdogan’s Call to ‘Destroy Israel’ Prompts Feud With Top Israeli Diplomat - Algemeiner
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called for Israel’s destruction over the weekend while accusing the Jewish state of perpetrating “genocidal policies” in the Middle East, sparking a war of words with Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar.
“We see what is happening in Palestine. May Allah destroy Zionist Israel in his holy name,” Erdogan said during a speech after visiting a mosque to commemorate the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.
“We must see what is happening there, and therefore, we must unite, be strong, and be brothers here. May Allah always strengthen our unity,” he continued in remarks reported by Turkish media.
Israel resumed its military operations against Hamas in Gaza earlier this month, saying the Palestinian terrorist group refused to release more Israeli hostages kidnapped during its October 2023 invasion of the Jewish state and rebuffed proposals to extend the ceasefire between them. (Read more)

1. Scramble to free survivors as death toll passes 1,600 after Myanmar earthquake - The Guardian
Rescue workers battled for a second night to find survivors of Myanmar’s devastating earthquake, which has killed at least 1,644 people and injured thousands more.
Teams with little protective equipment, at times using only their bare hands, scrambled to free survivors from the rubble of countless buildings that were shattered by Friday’s 7.7-magnitude earthquake.
There was a brief moment of joy for exhausted emergency workers as a 30-year-old woman was rescued alive after more than 30 hours trapped beneath an apartment building in Mandalay, Myanmar’s second-biggest city and one of the worst affected areas.
Phyu Lay Khaing, who was brought out of the Sky Villa Condominium, a 12-storey development, by stretcher, was embraced by her husband, Ye Aung, and taken to hospital, AFP reported. It is feared more than 90 people remain trapped there.
In neighbouring Thailand Bangkok’s governor, Chadchart Sittipunt, said the search for construction workers at the site of a collapsed 30-storey building in the capital would continue. “We believe that there are still survivors. We will do everything possible to rescue them,” he said on Saturday evening, adding that heavy machines, including cranes and diggers, were being used to clear access at the site. The building fell to the floor while under construction near the city’s Chatuchak weekend market. (Read more)

2. Trump says the US will help in Asia quake. A former official says the system is now in ‘shambles’ - AP
WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump said Friday that the U.S. was going to help with the response to Southeast Asia’s deadly earthquake.
Sarah Charles, a former senior USAID official who oversaw disaster-response teams and overall humanitarian work under the Biden administration, said the system was now “in shambles,” without the people or resources to move quickly to pull out survivors from collapsed buildings and otherwise save lives.
A powerful quake shook Myanmar and neighboring Thailand on Friday, killing at least 150 people and burying others under the rubble of high-rises.
Asked about the quake by reporters in Washington, Trump said: “We’re going to be helping. We’ve already alerted the people. Yeah, it’s terrible what happened.”
At the State Department, spokesperson Tammy Bruce told reporters the administration would use requests for assistance and reports from the region to shape its response to the quake.
“USAID has maintained a team of disaster experts with the capacity to respond if disaster strikes,” Bruce said. “These expert teams provide immediate assistance, including food and safe drinking water, needed to save lives in the aftermath of a disaster.”
Despite cuts, “there has been no impact on our ability to perform those duties,” Bruce said. (Read more)

4. Judge blocks Trump administration from dismantling CFPB - The Hill
A federal judge on Friday blocked the Trump administration from effectively dismantling the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), an early target of Elon Musk and the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
U.S. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson barred the administration from stopping work and firing employees at the CFPB and ordered the reinstatement of previously terminated workers. She also blocked the destruction of any CFPB records and ordered the recission of any “wholesale” contract cancellations issued on or after Feb. 11.
Jackson opened her decision quoting Musk’s post to the social platform X spelling doom for the agency: “RIP CFPB.”
“In sum, the Court cannot look away or the CFPB will be dissolved and dismantled completely in approximately thirty days, well before this lawsuit has come to its conclusion,” Jackson wrote in her 112-page opinion. (Read more)

5. Energy chief envisions US nuclear renaissance: restoring ‘pit’ production, localizing nuke power - Fox News
WASHINGTON – In a wide-ranging interview last week, Energy Secretary Chris Wright discussed how the U.S. can bring nuclear power to the fore for both energy and defense purposes, starting with rebooting otherwise dormant "pit" production.
Under the first Trump administration, the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) sought to meet the Pentagon’s goal of manufacturing 80 such pits – spherical hulls of plutonium sized from a grapefruit to a bowling ball – according to the UK Guardian.
Wright suggested he wants to see the plan realized, as the same Energy Department laboratory in New Mexico where J. Robert Oppenheimer helped develop the atom bomb is reportedly working to return to earnest pit production.
The U.S. has never imported plutonium pits but also hasn’t done any such major manufacturing since the end of the Cold War. (Read more)

6. HUD chief showcases how private-public partnerships uplift economically neglected areas in Philly tour - Fox News
Housing and Urban Development Secretary Scott Turner is reinvigorating the private sector's role in aiding economically distressed areas that have been neglected for decades – including touring areas of Philadelphia that have seen massive development since he served in the first Trump administration.
"The last five years have brought $84 billion of private investment. One million people have gotten lifted off the poverty rolls. Home values and Opportunity Zones have risen, while rents did not go up. And so the Opportunity Zones initiative is not only about economic development, but it's about community development. Families are able to build brand-new foundations for their lives," Turner told Fox News Digital in an exclusive interview from Philadelphia.
Turner traveled to the City of Brotherly Love on Thursday to meet with local community and business leaders to discuss and tour recently revitalized areas of the city and Opportunity Zone projects, which are defined as economically distressed areas across the nation that incentivize investment and economic development through federal tax benefits to investors. Opportunity Zones were created under the first Trump administration through the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.
Turner served as the executive director of the White House Opportunity and Revitalization Council during the first Trump administration, as well as led the Opportunity Zones Initiative. (Read more)

Of Obedience And Sacrifice
The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, March 31, 2025
Jesus said in John 14:15, “If you love me, you will keep my commandments.” What are those commandments? In Matthew 22:37-39, Jesus told us: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’” 1 Samuel 15:22 says “to obey is better than sacrifice.” Hosea 6:6 sums it up, “For I desire lovingkindness, not sacrifice, and the knowledge of God rather than burnt offerings.” Throughout the Bible, the concept of obedience is greater than sacrifice. Obedience is likened to your relationship with the LORD. This was established from the time of Moses and the Tabernacle.
At the end of Exodus, Moses assembles the Tabernacle on the very day one year later, that the Israelites had left Egypt, on the first day of the first month. The singular verbs imply that Moses does this himself: “Moses erected the Tabernacle, put its sockets in place, put up its planks, put in its crossbars and set up its posts. He spread the tent over the Tabernacle and put the covering of the tent above it, as ADONAI had ordered Moses (Exodus 40:18-19).” Moses put the testimony inside the ark, and set up the contents of the Tabernacle. He erected the courtyard around the altar and put up the screen at the entrance of the Tabernacle. This is important because it represents the pattern of God’s will toward his people and their relationship with him. Read More

Golden rescue window closing three days after quake kills more than 2,000 in Myanmar and Thailand
|
|
(CNN) — Rescuers are desperately searching for survivors more than three days after a powerful 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck Myanmar, toppling buildings as far away as the Thai capital Bangkok and sending tremors through nearby Chinese provinces.
The first 72-hours after a quake are widely regarded as the “golden” window to reach victims buried alive under rubble - after that period the chances of survival without a water source diminishes rapidly.
More than 2,000 people are now confirmed dead in Myanmar after what was the largest earthquake to hit the war-ravaged country in more than a century, authorities say. Experts fear the true death toll could take weeks to emerge.
Widespread damage has been reported after the quake caused bridges and buildings to collapse, including in Bangkok, where authorities are trying to free dozens believed to be trapped under the rubble of an under-construction high-rise.
The epicenter was recorded in Myanmar’s central Sagaing region, near the former royal capital Mandalay, home to around 1.5 million people, as well as multiple historic temple complexes and palaces. Those at the epicenter of the quake are largely cut off following the collapse of a key bridge over the country’s Irrawaddy River, according to local officials. Read More
