After a case went before the Supreme Court last term, abortion in emergency rooms has come to the forefront in the struggle to protect life.
Democrats now want to insist on it and have introduced resolutions saying as much (H.Res. 1448, S.Res. 828). They're even piggybacking on the save-the-life-of-the-mother exceptions as justification. As a former abortionist testified more than a decade ago, abortion is never necessary to save the life of the mother. Abortion is not “emergency stabilizing care” as Sen. Murray claimed.
Two days before, Senator Murray spoke passionately and repeatedly about how IVF helps people create families. She chided Republicans for claiming to be pro-family while supposedly opposing a bill to help families: “Don't you dare talk about protecting their chance to grow their family when you are not willing to stand clear and strong against fetal personhood laws.” She insists on an IVF bill denying personhood because IVF can create a person.
Just before she spoke on the Senate floor about her emergency room resolution, one of her fellow Democrats, Sen. Murphy, who interestingly is not one of the 40 Senate Democrats supporting that resolution, spoke, and while on another complicated topic entirely, spoke about, “When we are at our most vulnerable—whether that be because of something joyous, like a pregnancy, or something more worrying, like a difficult diagnosis…”
Sometimes these people are not far from the truth, even if at other times their words or actions may seem like they are.
Ask God to turn the hearts of these people toward Him and toward the truth that sometimes comes out of their own mouths.
“Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian. And Paul said, I would to God, that not only thou, but also all that hear me this day, were both almost, and altogether such as I am, except these bonds.” (Acts 26:28-29)

- Senate advances $3B VA supplemental bill one day before deadline (H.R. 9468) • Sen. Paul: What we were talking about were burn pits. And burn pits you can convince me—and they have—that inhaling things from burn pits might damage your lungs, and you might have respiratory diseases or lung cancers. But saying hypertension is related to this allows Pandora's box, and now we have millions of people flooding through the doors to get benefits, and they are out of money. … The PACT Act created a presumption of service connection for hypertension. The CDC estimates 116 million Americans have hypertension: 50 percent of men, 44 percent of women. Over 60 percent of all people have hypertension. If you include hypertension as a trigger for benefits, it broadens the category of recipients so much that it has contributed to the depletion of the funds.

McConnell on Judicial Ethics: Two of my colleagues and I recently wrote to the head of the Standing Committee on Federal Rules to express our opposition to the proposed amendment to the rules governing appellate courts. The amendment is the result of persistent bullying of the Senate Democrats, and it would force parties seeking to be heard as friends of the court to disclose their donors in certain instances. The forced disclosure of donors is a longstanding offense against the First Amendment.
