Trump appoints first woman to be White House Chief of Staff
President-elect Donald Trump has appointed Susie Wiles as his White House chief of staff. The President-elect often publicly praised Wiles' leadership of what he called his "best-run" campaign. Wiles, however, tends to work behind the scenes.

During his acceptance speech early Wednesday morning, Trump said, "Susie likes to stay in the background. She's not in the background."

Wiles is a respected figure within the Republican Party, having worked as a GOP strategist with a range of candidates, like outgoing Sen. Mitt Romney and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.

Leon Panetta, former chief of staff for President Bill Clinton, said Wiles gained Trump's trust, an important task for the position.

"It's also the ability to kind of look the president in the eye and tell the president when you think he's making a mistake. And my sense is that Susan Wiles is probably one of the very few people that might have the ability to do that," Panetta said.

Wiles will oversee Trump's transition team, including filling out his Cabinet and other operational roles. Source (MSN) Read more here

- Father God, we are so thrilled that, with his first action in this time of transition, President Trump has chosen to appoint Susie Wiles to the office of Chief of Staff. As this article states, there is no position on the White House staff with greater power and authority than this one.

We also praise You, Holy One, that our President has chosen to honor the women of our land with this appointment. To God be the Glory! Great things He has done!

- " ...  in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." (1 Thessalonians 5:18)

Trump and Ukraine: what Russia wants,          what Trump could do
Stephen Bryen November 8, 2024

Originally published by Asia Times https://asiatimes.com/2024/11/trump-and-ukraine-what-russia-wants-what-trump-could-do/

US objectives for the war have been unilateral: Russia has to leave Ukraine. That won’t be Trump’s position because he will understand that it is a non-starter, especially when the Russians are winning the war.

But Trump knows how to sweeten deals and the Russians will listen, to some extent, so perhaps he can work out arrangements that could lead to the end of the conflict.

One US objective that should be part of American thinking, but has not been, is to significantly reduce America’s NATO commitment. NATO has been expanding for some time now, and it is the expansion that risks war with Russia. Trump may be more than willing to trade with the Russians on NATO in exchange for less punitive demands on Ukraine. (Center for Security Policy)

- Father, we ask that you give President Trump great heavenly wisdom as he seeks to end the war in Ukraine. Help him to call upon You, as he is called a "savvy negotiator", so we pray that the anointing that flows from Your Throne would fill him at this time.

- "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him."  (James 1:5)

The Russian Air Force is ‘dropping like flies’ in the Ukraine War

What You Need to Know: Despite increased production of Su-35 and Su-57 fighters, Russia’s Su-35 “Flanker-E” has struggled in Ukraine. Originally designed to rival American fourth-generation jets, the Su-35 boasts a range of missiles, electronic warfare capabilities, and powerful weaponry.

-However, the Su-35 has faced significant losses, with Western-supplied Ukrainian defenses, including Patriot missiles, successfully downing several of these jets. Russia’s fleet has reportedly suffered unsustainable losses, with Ukraine’s claims suggesting that over 350 aircraft have been destroyed since early 2022.

-While Ukraine’s defense stock is limited, the current conflict has revealed vulnerabilities in Russia’s aerial fleet, challenging Moscow’s air dominance.

Russia’s Su-35 Fighters Struggle Against Ukraine’s Defenses

According to reports months back from the Komsomolsk-on-Amur plant, a steady uptick in the production of Su-35 and Su-57 fighters will bolster the Russian Aerospace Forces’ capabilities.

While extra airframes will certainly help replenish Moscow’s hard-hit fleet amid its invasion of Ukraine, Su-35s have not performed well in the conflict. Armed with sophisticated Western-delivered weaponry, Ukrainian forces have shot down many of these Soviet-era fighters.

The Ukrainian Defense Ministry announced earlier in the year that its forces had shot down at least seven Sukhoi glide-bombers earlier this year using American-made Patriot missiles. The Kremlin takes every chance it gets to tout its “fourth generation ++” fighters as superior jets, but they have yet to prove that title. (Center for Security Policy) Read more here.

- Lord Jesus, as Russia struggles in its attacks on Ukraine, we pray for an end to this aggression. We ask for a mighty move of the Holy Spirit across the region, bringing peace and a heart change to both sides.

- “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God." (Matthew 5:9)

Outrage, focus on Muslim migrants after Amsterdam "Pogrom"

Amsterdam police detained 62 people in connection with a series of antisemitic assaults against Israeli soccer fans, which resulted in five moderate injuries and about 20 to 30 minor ones, in the Dutch capital, the city’s prosecutor René de Beukelaer said at a Friday press.

The five injured people were treated in the hospital and discharged, De Beukelaer said during the briefing with Femke Halsema, the Amsterdam mayor.

Witnesses described about 100 men, whom they described as Arabs, assaulting Israelis in a coordinated manner on Friday morning. The country’s largest-scale antisemitic incident in decades has shocked many Dutchmen and especially Jews and Holocaust survivors, who said that it is a reminder of what led up to the Holocaust.

The Nazis occupied the Netherlands in May 1940. Less than a quarter of Dutch Jews survived the Holocaust, and the country has many Holocaust memorials, including a museum in the former home of Anne Frank, which is one of the nation’s most visited sites.

Friday’s incidents prompted Israel to send two airplanes to evacuate its citizens from Amsterdam, and the Israeli government told Israelis in the city to remain in their hotels and to remove signs that could identify them as either Jews or Israelis. The attacks also generated an international uproar, including by King Willem-Alexander, the Dutch ceremonial head of state. (JNS.org) Read more here

- Lord God, this situation has erupted so suddenly in Amsterdam! We thank You that P.M. Netanyahu has acted quickly to quell the violence. We quote the following from another source:

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated at about 4:30 a.m. local time that he was dispatching two rescue planes to Amsterdam following a “very violent incident against Israeli citizens.”

“The harsh pictures of the assault on our citizens in Amsterdam will not be overlooked,” Netanyahu’s office stated, adding that he “views the horrifying incident with utmost gravity and demands that the Dutch government and security forces take vigorous and swift action against the rioters, and ensure the safety of our citizens.”

Thank You, O Lord, for a leader that will take action to protect his people. In Your Name, Abba, we offer this prayer, amen and amen!

- "Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence." (I Timothy 2:1)
