Impeachment Trial to End on Feb. 5th
Impeachment Trial to End on Feb. 5th
Swing-Vote GOP Sen. Alexander Comes Out against Witnesses,
Paving Way for Imminent Trump Acquittal
"If this shallow, hurried and wholly partisan impeachment were to succeed, it would rip the country apart, pouring gasoline on the fire of cultural divisions that already exist," Alexander said. "It would create the weapon of perpetual impeachment to be used against future presidents whenever the House of Representatives is of a different political party"
-- Senator Lamar Alexander
Sen. Lamar Alexander, R-Tenn., announced late Thursday night that he would not support additional witnesses in President Trump's "shallow, hurried and wholly partisan" Senate impeachment trial, seemingly ending Democrats' hopes of hearing testimony from former national security adviser John Bolton and paving the way for the president's imminent acquittal as soon as Friday night.
"If this shallow, hurried and wholly partisan impeachment were to succeed, it would rip the country apart, pouring gasoline on the fire of cultural divisions that already exist," Alexander said. "It would create the weapon of perpetual impeachment to be used against future presidents whenever the House of Representatives is of a different political party."
He added: "The framers believed that there should never, ever be a partisan impeachment. That is why the Constitution requires a 2/3 vote of the Senate for conviction. Yet not one House Republican voted for these articles." (Fox News) Read more.
A PRAYER FOR OUR FAMILIES
Now that the Senate has voted to not call any witnesses in this trial, we ask a special prayer for our families this weekend.
For many, if not for all of us, there exists a great and hostile division between us and members of our own families, or our extended families. Our Lord knows how to bring healing, if we but pray and ask for Him to do so. Let us pray:
"Holy God, we bring this painful issue before Your Throne of Grace. We turn our hearts to the division that is in our nation and in our families. We ask You to send Your ministering angels to keep the peace that passes all understanding among family members both now and in the days ahead.
Lord God, we ask for Your unusual and divine wisdom to flood our hearts and our minds so that we not "fuel this fire" of division, but rather speak grace to all. When confronted with an argument, let us know when to speak and when to keep silent. . . and if we speak, how to do so with a gentle word. Thank You for hearing our prayer in this time of need, O Lord, amen."
"There is . . . a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak . . ." (Ecclesiastes 3:1)
"A soft answer turns away wrath, But a harsh word stirs up anger." (Proverbs 15:1)
Chaplain Black’s Prayers
Two Prayers Given by U.S. Senate Chaplain Dr. Barry C. Black
During the Impeachment Proceedings
Every morning, our Senate Chaplain, Dr. Barry C. Black, offers an opening prayer at the start of each session of Congress. Below please find two of those prayers, each given in the past week, during the Senate trial of impeachment.
Thursday morning, January 30, 2020
The Chaplain, Dr. Barry C. Black, offered the following prayer:
Let us pray.
Eternal Lord God, send Your Holy Spirit into this Chamber. Permit our Senators to feel Your presence during this impeachment trial. Illuminate their minds with the light of Your wisdom, exposing truth and resolving uncertainties. May they understand that You created them with cognitive capabilities and moral discernment to be used for Your glory. Grant that they will comprehend what really matters, separating the relevant from the irrelevant. Lord, keep them from fear, as they believe that Your truth will triumph through them. Eliminate discordant static with the music of Your wisdom.
We pray in Your great Name. Amen.
Friday morning, January 31, 2020
The Chaplain, Dr. Barry C. Black, offered the following prayer:
Let us pray.
Eternal Lord God, you have summarized ethical behavior in a single sentence: Do for others what you would like them to do for you. Remind our Senators that they alone are accountable to You for their conduct. Lord, help them to remember that they can't ignore You and get away with it for we always reap what we sow.
Have Your way, Mighty God. You are the potter. Our Senators and we are the clay. Mold and make us after Your will. Stand up, omnipotent God. Stretch Yourself and let this Nation and world know that You alone are sovereign.
I pray in the Name of Jesus. Amen.
National School Choice Week
National School Choice Week:
President Trump Issues a Proclamation Honoring School Choice
> > > This proclamation begins:
A great education provides students with a foundation to pursue the American Dream of a hopeful and prosperous future. During National School Choice Week, we reaffirm our commitment to enable all students to pursue the education that will best equip them for success in work and life.
Every child deserves the chance to flourish in an educational environment that best leverages their unique learning style, cultivates their talent, and develops the skills needed to succeed in an ever-changing world. Likewise, teachers deserve the chance to innovate in the classroom and do their best work. Yet, today's system often falls short of what students and teachers need and deserve, and often makes it too hard for families and educators to create the best learning experience for each child. The results tell the unfortunate story: recent international surveys ranked the United States 24th in reading, 25th in science, and 40th in math. These results were not the result of incapable children; they were the consequence of the limitations imposed by a largely one‑size-fits-all approach to education.
Education should inspire wonder, stimulate curiosity, and spark a lifelong desire in our children to learn and grow. Increased educational options - including through out-of-zone public schools, public charter schools, magnet schools, sectarian and secular private schools, home schools, and online education programs - have expanded opportunities for students regardless of background or economic status. We should all work to ensure all children receive great educations, regardless of where they live, how much their family makes, or how they best learn.

Peace Plan Update
Backing Abbas, Arab League unanimously rejects Trump's Middle East peace plan
The Arab League on Saturday unanimously rejected US President Donald Trump's controversial Middle East plan, calling it "unfair" to Palestinians.
The pan-Arab bloc said in a statement that it "rejects the US-Israeli 'deal of the century' considering that it does not meet the minimum rights and aspirations of Palestinian people."
Arab leaders also vowed "not to . . . cooperate with the US administration to implement this plan."
The US plan would grant the Palestinians a state with restricted sovereignty in Gaza and in parts of the West Bank, while allowing Israel to annex all its settlements and keep nearly all of East Jerusalem.
The League warned that Israel must not act on the plan unilaterally - a reference to Israel's stated intention to move on annexation as soon as possible.
"Israel will be solely responsible for the consequences of such policies," the bloc said. It said it would call on international powers to take steps to prevent any such action.
Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas said at an emergency meeting of the bloc that he was cutting all ties with both Israel and the US, including security coordination, over the White House plan.
The summit of Arab foreign ministers in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, was requested by the Palestinians, who responded angrily to the American proposal.
"We've informed the Israeli side . . . that there will be no relations at all with them and the United States, including security ties," Abbas declared.
"I will never accept this solution," Abbas said. "I will not have it recorded in my history that I have sold Jerusalem."
He said the Palestinians remain committed to ending Israel's control of the West Bank and establishing a state with its capital in East Jerusalem.
. . . There was no immediate comment from US or Israeli officials.

From Koenig:
This could be great news.
Maybe President Trump will say, okay, we are out of the region, you can fend for yourself against Iran. We have our oil. We don't need yours. NATO doesn't help much. The EU doesn't help much. We're bringing our troops home. We will stop funding Jordan, Egypt and the others that receive our aide. We'll defend and financially support Israel and that is it.
No further catastrophic events on the U.S. for trying to divide God's covenant land. May the United States receive the Genesis 12:3 blessing for fully standing with Israel.
President Trump's response will be interesting. Let's pray!

Operation Restoration (Repentance)
Operation Restoration
BULLETIN — PLEASE NOTE OUR NEW NUMBER AND ACCESS CODE:
712-770-5350
150411#
Once each week, on Sunday mornings and for 24 hours, join with others in OPERATION RESTORATION . . .
"Operation Restoration"
This initiative is based upon the Move of the Spirit that was launched last month during Operation Refiner's Fire. The LORD has shown us that He has used those fires to ignite the FIRE of the HOLY SPIRIT to visit our people, which He now yearns to keep burning among our people until the day of His return!
"Operation Restoration" is based on the promise of Scripture, recorded in
2 Chronicles 7:14,15.
It is written:
. . . "and if My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
"Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to the prayer offered in this place."
This is a weekly Solemn Assembly, where saints can feel free to gather each Sunday, to offer prayers of repentance before our Lord, for the many sins our nation has committed before Him.
Abba so desires to hear our prayers . . . He is just waiting to heal us!
You can join us, any Sunday, beginning at 9:00 a.m. EST by calling:
712-770-5350
Access Code: 150411#
Each week, our conference line for Operation Restoration will remain open until Monday morning at 9:00 a.m.EST -- allowing for 24 hours of nonstop prayer before our King of Kings, that He might, indeed, "heal our land." Amen.
