Update: Hurricane Isaias

hurricane.png

Isaias explodes into hurricane overnight, to make run along southeastern US coast

Isaias ramped up to an 80-mph Category 1 hurricane during Thursday night, shortly after pulling away from Hispaniola and will now churn through the Bahamas, just north of Cuba, before making a run along the Eastern seaboard of the United States this weekend to early next week.

As a tropical storm, Isaias lashed Puerto Rico with 60-mph winds and heavy rains and made landfall in the Dominican Republic Thursday afternoon. The storm brought impacts to Haiti, the Dominican Republic's neighbor on the island of Hispaniola, also as it pushed northwest over the Caribbean.

Tropical Storm Isaias, pronounced ees-ah-ee-ahs, was upgraded from Potential Tropical Cyclone Nine status by the National Hurricane Center (NHC) at 11 p.m. EDT Wednesday. The system strengthened as it developed a more organized center with thunderstorms wrapping around its core -- and, with its upgrade, Isaias became the earliest "I-storm" in recorded history. The prior record holder was Irene from Aug. 7, 2005.

Isaias could become the second named system to make landfall in the U.S. in about a week following Hanna's arrival in South Texas on Saturday, July 25. But with the abrupt strengthening during Thursday night, a curved path could keep most of the hurricane-force winds east of the U.S. coastline.

To read this article and study the most current map of the projected path of Isaias, go here.

- Father, along with the weathermen, we too are tracking the path of this storm. We continue to track this storm, asking divine protection and safety for all who are in its path. Please help the first responders to move with supernatural strength to meet the needs now that will lie ahead, day and night, until this storm passes. Amen.

"Again, I tell you truly that if two of you on the earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by My Father in heaven. For where two or three gather together in My name, there am I with them." (Matthew 18: 19,20)

Questions About China

Why we need to ask more questions about China

During a special order series of speeches on Friday, 7/24, Rep. Louie Gohmert spoke about China's efforts to weaken the United States through the media.

He read from an article, "The 'United Front' — How China Has Co-opted The U.S. Media" by Charles "Sam" Faddis.

"In short, essentially all major American media outlets other than those of a more conservative or libertarian bent are subject to powerful Chinese influence. What they cover is what the CCP wants them to cover. What they say is what the CCP wants them to say.

"A recent example is telling. In a report looking at evening news broadcasts from January 17 through March 13, the Media Research Center found that out of 634 minutes of coronavirus coverage, just 3 minutes and 14 seconds were in any way critical of the Chinese Government's actions. In 20 percent of the stories, reporters cited Chinese statistics. Those statistics, regarded as fraudulent by most objective observers, went unchallenged 97 percent of the time.

When it comes to fraudulent Chinese statistics, the most glaring are its numbers on the coronavirus.

The most populous nation on earth would have us believe that the virus originating within its border has killed only a few thousand people there, and then no more for weeks on end, while it remains very contagious and deadly everywhere else in the world.

There are two possibilities here:
1. China is telling the truth.
2. China is lying.

If China's numbers are accurate, then why aren't journalists asking, and policymakers demanding to know, how they're doing it? Does China have a vaccine its withholding from everyone else?

If China's numbers are not accurate, then journalists and policymakers should be demanding independent and free access to hard-hit areas of China to confirm the reported containment of the virus. (Perhaps no one wants to confirm China's numbers because no one believes that kind of task would be without high risk, even if that means they have to pretend they think it would not.)

Either way, reporters and policymakers should be doing more than just taking the Chinese at their every word when there are obvious problems with how they're portraying themselves to the world.

Complete post

Pray: The good news is, we don't have to have the answer to this deeply entrenched problem. God is a God of truth, and we can call on Him to expose the lies, and to purify and cleanse our news organizations.

We should also be aware of what's happening, and that starts in the Church.

"The sons of Aaron, the priests, shall blow the trumpets; and these shall be to you as an ordinance forever throughout your generations. When you go to war in your land against the enemy who oppresses you, then you shall sound an alarm with the trumpets, and you will be remembered before the LORD your God, and you will be saved from your enemies." (Numbers 10:8-9)

Justice Selection

Senator Hawley vows to vote against Supreme Court nominees who haven't 'explicitly acknowledged that Roe v. Wade was wrongly decided'

Full text of Senator Hawley's floor speech

Senator Hawley is clearly not happy with the Roberts Court. His frustration is understandable given decisions from the Court during its most recent term. The Senator is looking for better methods and a higher standard for how we shape the U.S. Supreme Court.

If our new standard is on the basis of when someone publicly declares a Supreme Court decision "wrongly decided," Justice Roberts himself would have passed that test and still failed in the outcome. He previously declared—in a very public 2016 Supreme Court opinion—that a decision was wrongly decided, only to uphold that same previous opinion in 2020.

Congress has more influence over the Court than just determining who is or is not a justice. First, Congress makes the laws. Second, though rarely used, Congress has authority to limit the Supreme Court's jurisdiction over matters. It's one thing to stand on the Senate floor and declare what others must do. It's another to have the power to do something.

We do not trust in men—neither Supreme Court justices, nor Presidents, nor Senators, nor processes, nor public statements, etc. We trust in God. Our role is not just to find the perfect people or a better process for finding people to put on the Court. Our role is to lift all of them up in prayer, in the process of lawmaking, judicial selection, case deciding, and every part of the legislative, executive, and judicial processes. Until we do that, we can count on putting our hope in anything less than God as something else that will produce less than godly outcomes.

"Do not put your trust in princes, Nor in a son of man, in whom there is no help."(Psalm 146:3)

"It is better to trust in the LORD Than to put confidence in princes." (Psalm 118:9)

Intentional destruction by fear

A July 27th post on the White House website cites President Trump as saying "Vaccines are coming along really well. Likewise therapeutics. Moving faster than anticipated." Through Operation Warp Speed, the government has invested in more than five vaccines and teamed up with multiple pharmaceutical companies to safely produce as many effective vaccines as possible, according to the White House. These pharmaceutical companies include AstraZeneca, Moderna, and Pfizer, some of which have the backing of the controversial Gates Foundation. The same day, another group of doctors on Capitol Hill were telling a far different story of how successful COVID 19 treatments were censored for political reasons.

Health Impact News reported the Monday news conference held by a group of doctors calling themselves America's Frontline Doctors. Since the news conference their website has been taken down and video of their statements has been banned by Twitter and other social media outlets. The doctors said that nobody needs to die from COVID because all of them are successfully treating patients with effective cures that are being censored for political reasons. Health Impact News reported, that Dr. Stella Immanuel from Houston, Texas "stated that she studied medicine in Nigeria where she used Hydroxychloroquine for malaria patients, and is therefore very experienced with this medication, and that she has now treated over 350 COVID patients in Texas with Hydroxychloroquine, and none of them have died."

In yet another video, Dr. Carrie Madej, an internal medicine specialist in McDonough, Ga with 19 years experience, raised red flags on the companies, including AstraZeneca and Moderna, developing the COVID vaccines. Skipping animal trials and going straight to human trials, she says, is bad science that may result in permanent DNA alterations, several types of cancer for vaccine users, and other exponentially accumulated and toxic side effects. Questions you should consider before taking ANY vaccine include: Does it include engineered, synthetic, genetically modified cell lines or materials; Does it have DNA nanotechnology; Does it contain immortalized, MRC5 bordered fetal cell lines from aborted fetuses; Does it contain aluminum and/or mercury derivatives? The answer of YES to any of these questions is cause for great concern.

For me, another question is about effectiveness. How effective is the vaccine? A lot will say 50/50..but it does this or that. Not good enough. Big pharma plus big government plus fear equals incalculable disaster. As Christians, we should have healthy discernment about what goes into our bodies and why. Consider 1 Corinthians 3:16-17, which asks: "Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are." Toxins, aborted baby cells, cancer cells, nanotechnology, DNA alterations in a vaccine for the flu? We are going to have some choices to make. Choose wisely.

House Floor Schedule

The Majority Leader's announcement Friday:

Madam Speaker, as the Members know and as the country knows, we have failed to reach an agreement on moving ahead on COVID-19 legislation. Therefore, Members are advised that no additional votes are expected in the House this week after we complete the next two votes.

Members are further advised, Madam Speaker, that as conversations surrounding additional coronavirus relief legislation continues, it is expected that the House will meet during the month of August.

I have told my Members, and I have told the minority leader and whip, that no one should schedule themselves for next week or until such time as we adopt COVID-19 legislation.

Members will be given at least 24 hours' notice before the House will be called back into session.

We will not start the August district work period until we pass appropriate COVID-19 relief to meet the current health and economic crisis confronting our people and our country.

Further information will be provided as soon as it becomes available.

And, Madam Speaker, at the end of the day, I will make further observations with reference to where we stand, but Members are advised that this is the schedule. It obviously is designed to ensure that we act as quickly as humanly and legislatively possible to give the relief the country needs.

CHPP Welcomes You to Join Us Every Week in One Hour of Repentance

Sunday evening at 10:00 p.m. EDT
Dial 712-770-5350
Access Code: 150411#

Dear Saints,

A lifestyle of REPENTANCE is so close to the heart of God.

Indeed, He commands us to " "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!" (Matthew 3:2)

How, then, can we approach His Throne of GRACE, in repentance?

We invite you to join us every week on Sunday evening, as we explore this vital topic together. We present a different prayer focus each week, leading us into repentance, so that we might approach His Throne of Grace in repentance, presenting ourselves to Him as a pure and a spotless Bride, without spot or wrinkle. (Ephesians 5:27)

Praying together, we desire to fulfill the mandate of Psalm 139:

" Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties; 24 And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting." (Psalm 139:24)

You can join us, any Sunday evening, at 10:00 p.m. EST by calling:

712-770-5350
Access Code: 150411#

WELCOME!

". . . and if My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

"Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to the prayer offered in this place."
 (2 Chronicles 7:14,15)
