Time to Pray for CHINA!

As you and I, and another 850 or so participants take time to repent, and as fervent prayers go up on this given day, August 14, 2020, for Liberty in China, we shall be supporting our High Priest and the Holy Spirit. We will be bearing one another's burdens, fulfilling the law of Christ (Galatians 6:2). And we can pray, waiting in humility and faith, letting the Holy Spirit direct us, as He makes intercession for us. (Romans 8: 26).

PRESIDENT TRUMP SPEAKS OF POWERFUL ENEMIES
President Trump toured a Whirlpool Corp. washing machine factory in Clyde, Ohio, on Thursday. He spoke to the plant's workforce of the "invisible enemy," the coronavirus, of rolling back regulations, the new U.S.-Canada-Mexico trade agreement, his new orders on lowering the prices of pharmaceuticals, and bringing the supply chain back to America. During the remarks, the president added:
"You have people called 'middlemen.' . . . They are so wealthy. They make more money than the drug companies . . . the rebate that I'm doing cuts out the middlemen, and it reduces costs, and the money goes back to the people purchasing the drugs.
"So I have a lot of enemies out there. This may be the last time you'll see me for a while. A lot of very, very rich enemies, but they are not happy with what I'm doing. But I figure we have one chance to do it, and no other president is going to do what I do. No other president would do a favored nations, a rebate, a buy from other nations at much less cost. Nobody. And there are a lot of unhappy people, and they're very rich people, and they're very unhappy.
"Here's my fourth promise to American workers. Beyond our medical supply chains, over the next four years, we will onshore millions of new manufacturing jobs across many other critical sectors that are vital to our national security and prosperity-from electronics to machine tools, to shipping, aerospace, autos, and, of course, to iron and steel."
The president reassured attendees that he will continue to work to protect America, "As long as I am President of the United States, I will fight for you with every ounce of energy and strength that I have. I will be your voice. I will defend your jobs. I will stand up to the foreign trade cheaters and violators that hate our country. I will never let you down. I will have your back, 100 percent."

The rush to communism in America
New York Democratic Governor Andrew Cuomo and his New York City Mayor are leading the way in demonstrating what a communist state looks like in America. Cuomo has issued a 14-day quarantine for visitors to New York from some 34 states and Puerto Rico. People flying into New York are required to fill out paperwork confirming where they are coming from and where they are going. If they refuse, they are subject to a $2,000 fine. Cuomo says it is illegal to leave the airport if the papers are not in order. New York City's Democratic Mayor Bill de Blasio has added to the COVID fascism by announcing a $10,000 fine if people choose to ignore the 14-day quarantine order. But, wait, there's more.
At a time when murder rates are increasing and de Blasio has announced plans to defund the police to the tune of a billion dollars, the mayor is also diverting law enforcement efforts to set up quarantine checkpoints around the city. The city also has a "Test and Trace Corps" using agents at places like Penn Station to enforce compliance. The Test and Trace Corps will also call visitors on the phone to check on them. Breitbart reports that the head of the corps, Ted Long, announced, "If we can't get through to you on the phone, we've now deployed teams to knock on your door and check in on you to make sure you're safe." de Blasio said that the checkpoints are just the beginning of wider and harsher measures.
In California, the Democratic leaders are following suit. California Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom formed "strike teams" within ten state agencies in June. Associated Press reported on July 6 that "Ten agencies that make up the strike teams Newsom formed last week together contacted 483,000 businesses. Officials previously said that they sent letters Thursday to every employer, or about 350,000 businesses, warning that they could face fines or potential criminal prosecution if they failed to implement a new statewide requirement to wear face coverings." Newsom's raids netted 52 citations over the Independence Day weekend. Seems ironic that on the day America celebrates independence, California was cracking down on its citizens.
Two states that could determine the election have governors, mayors and other elected officials that want to defund law enforcement and at the same time use law enforcement and government agencies to oppress the citizenry. Meanwhile, calling the Trump "regime" "fascist," the head of the Revolutionary Communist Party USA, Bob Avakian, endorsed Democratic Party presidential candidate Joe Biden. Avakian said in his statement, "Our fundamental goal, and guiding star, remains: REVOLUTION-NOTHING LESS." Do you see where this is headed? The true face of communism is being revealed among the Democratic Party's leaders. Communism requires abolishing all religion. The government becomes god. As Psalm 33:12 says, "Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD." Beware of the rush to communism in America.
Yoga Bill
Senate endorses New Age medicine
Wednesday, the Senate offered alternative medicine a promotion in U.S. law.
In 2016, Congress established the COVER Commission to examine available research on "complementary and integrative health" treatment for "mental health issues" and to "identify what benefits could be made with the inclusion" of therapies for veterans including yoga, acupuncture, meditation. Early this year, the COVER Commission completed its tasks and issued its report.
The Senate Veterans' Affairs Committee put the Commission's recommendations into legislative form as S. 785, the Commander John Scott Hannon Veterans Mental Health Care Improvement Act. The bill lists yoga first among its lists of "Complementary and integrative health treatments" and "alternative therapies" for veterans "at risk for suicide." Also listed are meditation and acupuncture.
Business author Josh Kaufman described his exploration of yoga in his book, The First 20 Hours. He wrote, "If yoga only consisted of stretching, people would just call it 'stretching.'" He explained: "The word 'yoga' comes from the ancient Sanskrit word for yoke. In the same sense that an ox is attached to a plow to work a field, through their rituals, the priests were trying to tie the spiritual world to the physical world."
Wednesday, by the unanimous consent of all Senators, the U.S. Senate passed S. 785. This is a full endorsement by the Senate of these eastern practices with America's veterans. The bill now goes to the U.S. House of Representatives.
Veteran suicide is a problem. The problem, however, is not primarily mental. It's a spiritual matter. We were each created for a purpose in a world that was created good and has been corrupted by sin. Many veterans have had up-close experiences with how corrupted and fallen this world truly is. What they need is hope, and for some, a sense of forgiveness. Veterans need their yoke lifted off them, not another yoke adding further weight to their burden. Veterans need an eternal perspective, a sense of purpose, and healing from their experiences. The Church is uniquely positioned and equipped to deal with these matters.
Pray that this legislation would change before it becomes law, and that the United States would not be officially endorsing and promoting eastern mysticism for America's veterans.
Pray that the Church would wake up, stand against these teachings that go against Scripture, and stand for truth as found in the Bible that our veterans need to hear.
The Scriptures teach that the divine came to the physical created world when "the Word became flesh and dwelt among us" (John 1:14). That is referring to Jesus Christ who said, "My yoke is easy and My burden is light" (Matthew 11:30). It is not a universal life force, but Him who is "upholding all things by the word of His power" (Hebrews 1:3) and offers reconciliation with God.

The Senate convenes Monday afternoon at its usual time. No legislative or executive business is scheduled.
Normally, the Senate would have recessed for the rest of August as of Thursday. However, Coronavirus negotiations were still pending, so it has stayed in session.
Friday was the conclusion of two weeks of negotiating talks between Democratic and White House leaders. No agreement was reached, nor was sufficient progress made to merit further discussion or meetings. The White House is now turning its attention to executive action as an alternative.
Monday's Senate session is already scheduled, but without legislative substance or prospects on which to continue, the Senate may not meet in full session much beyond Monday.

As noted last week, Majority Leader Hoyer has Members on notice that they could be called back in the event of an agreement related to Coronavirus spending.
