"For the kingdom is the LORD'S: and he is the governor among the nations." (Psalm 22:28)

House Democrats pass $739B Manchin-Schumer spending and tax increase bill

House Democrats passed on Friday a $739 billion climate change, tax hike, and healthcare bill, giving President Biden's domestic agenda a boost at a time of record high inflation and low presidential job approval numbers.

In a 220-to-207 vote, the House voted along party lines to approve the legislation. Every single Democrat supported the bill in the face of opposition from all Republicans except three who did not vote.

"Today is really a glorious day for us," said House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif. "We send to the president's desk a monumental bill that will be truly for the people."

Republicans vehemently opposed the bill, arguing its provisions will worsen the U.S. economy and impose new burdens on American workers.

"Remember this day," said House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif. "When Democrats jammed through a 700-page bill that raises your taxes and doubles the size of the IRS." (Fox News) Read more here.

- Father God, this weekend half of the nation is rejoicing, and the other half is weeping. Lord God, we bring before You those who are now weeping, and we ask that You would encourage our hearts as we face the days that are ahead.

Lord God, we know not what to do, but our eyes are turned unto You. Amen.

- "Our God, will you not judge them? For we have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.” (2 Chronicles 20:12)
Former President Trump says documents taken by FBI were 'all declassified'

Former President Trump said in a Truth Social post on Friday that all documents taken by the Federal Bureau of Investigations were "all declassified."

"Number one, it was all declassified. Number two, they didn’t need to “seize” anything. They could have had it anytime they wanted without playing politics and breaking into Mar-a-Lago. It was in secured storage, with an additional lock put on as per their request...," Trump said. "They could have had it anytime they wanted—and that includes LONG ago. ALL THEY HAD TO DO WAS ASK. The bigger problem is, what are they going to do with the 33 million pages of documents, many of which are classified, that President Obama took to Chicago?"

The National Archives and Records Administration said in a press release on Friday that former President Obama isn't in control over presidential records from his administration.

"The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) assumed exclusive legal and physical custody of Obama Presidential records when President Barack Obama left office in 2017, in accordance with the Presidential Records Act (PRA). NARA moved approximately 30 million pages of unclassified records to a NARA facility in the Chicago area where they are maintained exclusively by NARA. Additionally, NARA maintains the classified Obama Presidential records in a NARA facility in the Washington, DC, area. As required by the PRA, former President Obama has no control over where and how NARA stores the Presidential records of his Administration," the statement reads. (Fox News)

- Father God, we praise You for the courage shown to us this past week by our former President, Donald John Trump. As the name-calling in the press and the finger-pointing by his enemies regarding the raid at Mar-a-Lago will undoubtedly continue in the days ahead, we ask for a supernatural infilling of Your strength to rest upon President Trump. May He be filled with Your joy, knowing that this scheme of his enemies will surely backfire against them. Amen.

- "The joy of the Lord is your strength." (Nehemiah 8:10)
The Spiritual Truth Behind the Mar-A-Lago Raid
The following teaching was released by Dutch Sheets on his
"Give Him 15" commentary on Wednesday, August 10th.

Recent events have shaken believers across the country. We trust in God, however, that this is all part of His plan to shine His light.

From Give Him 15. The past 48 hours have shocked many Americans. While my responsibility and calling is not to defend individuals or political parties, it is worth pointing out that what the Left did on 8/8, has never been done in our 246 year history as a nation.

My assignment, however, is to help us identify what is going on behind the scenes spiritually, so we can pray more effectively.

Hebrews‬ ‭12:25-29‬ (TPT) tells us:

“Make very sure that you never refuse to listen to God when He speaks! For the God who spoke on earth from Sinai is the same God who now speaks from heaven. Those who heard Him speak His living Word on earth found nowhere to hide, so what chance is there for us to escape if we turn our backs on God and refuse to hear His warnings as He speaks from heaven? The earth was rocked at the sound of His voice from the mountain, but now He has promised, ‘Once and for all I will not only shake the systems of the world, but also the unseen powers in the heavenly realm! Now this phrase ‘once and for all’ clearly indicates the final removal of things that are shaking, that is, the old order, so only what is unshakable will remain. Since we are receiving our rights to an unshakable kingdom we should be extremely thankful and offer God the purest worship that delights His heart as we lay down our lives in absolute surrender, filled with awe. For our God is a holy, devouring fire!”

We have asked God to shake loose the evil in our government and nation, to expose and cleanse. This continues to happen with remarkable speed. It seems that all stops have been pulled out by those who want to completely transform our nation into something other than what we were created to be. They seek to distort our history, remove time-honored moral standards, take over our government, and silence the church. Emboldened as never before, they feel no need to try and hide their agenda, sending drag queens to teach our kids and the Justice Department to those who object. This is disheartening, but their unmasking is necessary. Exposure. Exposure. Exposure.

In Context: Prices and Power
President Biden summarized the intended effects of the Inflation Reduction Act as, “families will see lower prescription drug prices, lower health care costs, and lower energy costs.”

Prices, at the most basic level, are the meeting points of agreement between sellers and buyers. Sellers try to earn as much money as possible, and buyers try to spend as little as possible. The range of where those two factors overlap is where one finds successful prices.

High prices are a symptom of low competition for products or services. Supply is low and/or demand is high. High prices of established products like insulin are, more specifically, symptoms of competition suppression. Market suppression can be caused by both government policy and private parties manipulating the system for protecting intellectual property.

In the case of insulin, instead of noticing the lack of competition, Democrats assume (1) the profit from the drug is too much, (2) the profit comes from a high price, and (3) the price is theirs to adjust, by law.

Those that pride themselves on being the party of governing also have an understanding of power that is not fully developed. They tend to view things they don't like as something they can simply change, by law: unintended pregnancies? Abortion on demand. Shootings? Ban guns. High insulin prices? Cap them.

Democrats and populists think price controls would win them votes. They lead people to believe that nothing else about transactions as they've previously known them would change except the prices.

That might be how it works, at first, but do price controls address the underlying problem? What does forcing a lower price on something do to change the supply? If the supply needs increasing, and the motivation to produce that supply (the price) has been reduced, is the supply going to increase or decrease? This is why price controls produce shortages.

Widespread shortages produce inflation to rebalance supply and demand. Price controls deny any imbalance exists.

If insulin prices are too high, the problem at its root isn't the price. It's the lack of competition for providing supply to the market.

Prices are nothing without the good or service it identifies as being exchanged. If you control the price, you control the product or service and the exchange.

The $2,000 per year cap on Medicare drug costs could become a cap on the total drug availability per year. It could then punish selling drugs to Medicare patients beyond the $2,000 limit.

A fully-developed understanding of power is one that understands the only need for government is to punish evil, and mutually agreed-upon prices, no matter the size, are not evil. Objectives for government beyond punishing evil run the risk of punishing good, which would be an evil thing for government to do and would correctly produce criticisms of that government.

When talking to people who want government to “work for them,” ask questions in the direction of truth: about both the consequences of bad policy (which potentially punishes good) and the plausibility of better policy (which only punishes evil). Keep in mind the true purposes of government: punishing evil and praising good (Romans 13:3-4, 1 Peter 2:14).

Dear Saints,

A lifestyle of REPENTANCE is so close to the heart of God.

Indeed, He commands us to  "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!" Matthew 3:2

How, then, can we approach His Throne of GRACE, in repentance?

We invite you to join us every week on Sunday evening, as we explore this vital topic together. We present a different prayer focus each week, leading us into repentance, so that we might approach His Throne of Grace in repentance, presenting ourselves to Him as a pure and a spotless Bride, without spot or wrinkle. (Ephesians 5:27)

Praying together, we desire to fulfill the mandate of Psalm 139:

" Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties; 24 And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting." Psalm 139:24

You can join us, any Sunday evening, at 10:00 p.m. EST by calling:

WELCOME!

". . . and if My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

"Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to the prayer offered in this place."
(2 Chronicles 7:14,15)
