Trump urges Supreme Court to let trans military ban proceed
The policy has become the target of multiple legal challenges, with one notable suit out of Washington, DC
The Trump administration asked the Supreme Court on Thursday to allow its ban on transgender military service to proceed in the near-term while lower courts continue to debate the issue — arguing in a filing that further stalling the policy could pose a threat to U.S. military readiness. In a court filing, the Justice Department requested the Supreme Court intervene to block a lower court's order and allow the military to disqualify from service "individuals who have gender dysphoria or have undergone medical interventions for gender dysphoria."

Justices on the high court asked plaintiffs in the case to file a response brief by next week, indicating that they could move quickly on the issue.

"Absent a stay, the district court’s universal injunction will remain in place for the duration of further review in the Ninth Circuit and in this Court – a period far too long for the military to be forced to maintain a policy that it has determined, in its professional judgment, to be contrary to military readiness and the Nation’s interests," U.S. Solicitor General D. John Sauer said in the filing. (Fox News) Read more here.
- Lord God, we pray that the Trump Administration would be able to move full speed ahead in creating a military, legally permitted to operate in the wisest, safest and holiest manner so that we would have the best protection for our citizens, civilian and military, here and abroad.

Lord, in Yeshua’s mighty name, we bind those spirits that are using liberal courts and justices to prosper the demonic, evil and ill-advised movement to over-rule what God has created, male and female--causing our military to be weakened in a variety of ways. We loose the Spirit of truth, wisdom and righteousness upon those courts and judges that seek to permit unhealthy and unholy behavior within our military that would significantly lower its effectiveness.

Send warning dreams and visions to the officers of the courts that would oppose You, Lord. Change their hearts and minds that they would judge with Godly wisdom and truth.

So approximately 3,000 warriors were sent, but they were soundly defeated. The men of Ai chased the Israelites from the town gate as far as the quarries and they killed about thirty-six who were retreating down the slope. The Israelites were paralyzed with fear at this turn of events, and their courage melted away.  …. 13 “Get up! Command the people to purify themselves in preparation for tomorrow. For this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: Hidden among you, O Israel, are things set apart for the Lord. You will never defeat your enemies until you remove these things from among you.  (Joshua 7: 4-5, 13)
Daily Brief - Special Edition!
1. The Supreme Court appears to side with parents in religious liberty dispute over storybooks - Fox News

The Supreme Court's conservative majority offered strong support for parents seeking the religious liberty right to be informed about and opt their children out of reading material in elementary schools that they say conflicts with their faith.

The Montgomery County, Maryland school board withdrew its original opt-out policy for books related to gender and sexuality, prompting a federal lawsuit. In a marathon two-and-a-half oral argument, the justices debated whether parents have been unfairly burdened in exercising their constitutional rights.

It is one of three high-profile religious-themed cases the high court will decide this term—including disputes over tax exemptions for religious groups, and taxpayer funding for private religious charter schools—which will be argued next week. (Read more)

- We praise and thank you, Lord, that the highest court in our land is defending the religious liberty of parents and Christian families. We pray that the courts and all in government would realize that statistically and morally a strong family unit creates well rounded and whole children that grow up and create a better world and society. It all starts with a strong family unit and so we just pray that this is not lost, and that this value is renewed and restored. In Jesus' name. Amen.

- “Through [skillful and godly] wisdom a house [a life, a home, a family] is built, And by understanding it is established [on a sound and good foundation], And by knowledge its rooms are filled With all precious and pleasant riches.” (‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭24‬:‭3‬-‭4‬)
2. Trump reveals surprising position in Arizona governor’s race - DML News

Faced with a dilemma following his endorsement of conservative Karrin Taylor Robson to run for governor of Arizona, President Donald Trump on Monday announced that he will also support Republican Rep. Andy Biggs after the lawmaker “unexpectedly” entered the contest.

Robson, a small business owner and lawyer, received Trump’s endorsement when no one else was running, Trump said in a Truth Social post.
As a workaround, Trump decided to endorse both candidates. Biggs and Robson, both Republicans, have touted Trump’s backing.

In a Truth Social post Monday evening, the president wrote, “I like Karrin Taylor Robson of Arizona a lot, and when she asked me to Endorse her, with nobody else running, I Endorsed her, and was happy to do so. When Andy Biggs decided to run for Governor, quite unexpectedly, I had a problem — Two fantastic candidates, two terrific people, two wonderful champions, and it is therefore my Great Honor TO GIVE MY COMPLETE AND TOTAL ENDORSEMENT TO BOTH. Either one will never let you down. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” (Read more)
- Lord God, we pray for this Governor's seat that it would be filled with a righteous individual that would stand up for Arizonans. We pray for the state of Arizona, that justice would come to that state and that all that was stolen would be restored to them, in Jesus' name, amen.

- “Follow justice and justice alone, so that you may live and possess the land the LORD your God is giving you.” (Deuteronomy 16:20)
3.  State Department announces ‘comprehensive’ internal reorganization - Washington Examiner

The State Department announced a “comprehensive” reorganization Tuesday to cut out what Secretary of State Marco Rubio argued was stopping the department from “performing its essential diplomatic mission.” The plan includes eliminating 132 offices and 700 positions for civil service and foreign service employees, according to the Free Press. In many instances, offices were merged to consolidate overlapping mandates, reducing the number of offices from 734 to 602, a reduction of 17%.

Officials released an organizational hierarchy chart for the department showing that the cuts don’t go as far as some reports said, including in light of the administration’s decision to shutter the U.S. Agency for International Development and fold the little it didn’t cut into the State Department. USAID will reportedly cease to exist on July 1, according to the Free Press.

- Lord, we thank you for this re-organization of this department. We thank you for Marco Rubio and his leadership in cleaning house and restoring integrity back to this department. Give Marco Rubio your wisdom and strength to handle his task at hand. We pray that all vacant jobs and positions would be filled with righteous individuals who truly want to serve the American people and not their own interests. In Jesus' name, amen.

4.  Supreme Court Ruling Makes Curious Exception For Illegal Migrants Ordered To Leave Country On A Saturday - Daily Caller

The Supreme Court ruled that weekends and holidays cannot be counted when foreign nationals are given deadlines to leave the United States. In a split 5-4 decision, a majority of justices on the nation’s highest court ruled in favor of Hugo Abisai Monsalvo Velazquez, a Mexican national who had been living unlawfully in the U.S. for years and ordered deported.

Velazquez successfully argued that his 60-day notice to leave the country — which ended on a Saturday — should have provided more flexibility for weekends and holidays. “Does every calendar day count?” Justice Neil Gorsuch, writing for the majority, wrote. “Or does the statute operate to extend a deadline that falls on a weekend or legal holiday to the next business day?”

“Here, as elsewhere, the term ‘days’ operates to extend a deadline that falls on a weekend or legal holiday to the next business day,” Gorsuch wrote. (Read more)
- Lord God, we pray for the hearts, souls, and minds of all Supreme Court justices that they would aid this administration in trying to enforce our immigration laws. We pray for all those fighting to end this crisis and heal those who have suffered through it. Please protect all of us from the political weaponization of this humanitarian disaster and help focus our power on solving it. Amen.

- “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.“ (Philippians 4:6)

'Biden effect' hits the Senate: Wave of retirements clears path for younger Dems

The so-called "Biden effect" appears to be a factor in congressional longevity after Senate Minority Whip Dick Durbin, D-Ill., announced he would not seek re-election after nearly four decades in Congress.

In 2024, President Joe Biden was politically pushed out after a disastrous debate performance against President Donald Trump in favor of his decades-younger deputy, Kamala Harris.

Since then, several senators — mostly Democrats — and many above private-sector retirement age, have announced their retirement.

"This is fallout from the 'Biden Effect,'" said Rutgers University political scientist Ross Baker. "It contaminated old Democrats."

Durbin, 80, and Sens. Jeanne Shaheen, D-N.H., 78; Tina Smith, D-Wis., 67; and Gary Peters, D-Mich., 66, as well as Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., 83, all announced their exit in 2025.

Prior to Biden's infamous debate, several 2024-cycle Democrats — now-former Sens. Benjamin Cardin of Maryland, 81; Tom Carper of Delaware, 78; Debbie Stabenow of Michigan, 74; and Democrat-turned-independent Joe Manchin of West Virginia, 77 — all declared their exits.(Fox News) Read more here.

- Lord of Lords, we thank You that the government is on Your shoulder and that ultimately, kings, queens, presidents, world leaders are appointed by You! We are grateful for the ‘Biden Effect’ as there are now a number of new spots open in the Senate for Republicans to fill. Lord, we ask that You raise up those people to fill the vacated Congressional seats that would work with the President and help to fully implement his agenda as it agrees with Your agenda.

Hear our earnest prayer that those Democrats who are retiring would not be replaced with anyone other than the ones who have the best interests of the American people at heart and the knowledge and wisdom to bring the best governance to our nation. Just as You brought King David out of obscurity, we ask for those who have been hidden for this Kairos time to now be revealed and full of Your favor.

- "…and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace." (Isaiah 9:6b)  "He changes times and seasons; he deposes kings and raises up others. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning."  (Daniel 2:21)
