TODAY'S TOP STORY
Flight 93 Responders Recall a Time When 9/11 Attack Unified America

The Flight 93 National Memorial near Shanksville, Pennsylvania, was once a coal strip mine. On neighboring land, Camp Allegheny’s then-Executive Director Duane Slade recalls the mine used many charges of dynamite at once, creating loud booms as they crumbled the earth. But it was nothing compared to what he heard on Sept. 11, 2001, when Flight 93 crashed there.

“The explosion of that plane going in, was probably ten times louder than any dynamite I ever heard,” Slade told The Epoch Times in an interview. “I couldn’t see it, but I certainly heard it and felt it.” The crash site was on the other side of a mountain ridge. Slade quickly drove over to check on his son’s house, which was an eighth of a mile from the crash site. He saw smoke, smoldering trees, and the first fire truck from Shanksville arrive. “You couldn’t see a plane,” Slade said. “It was just a big hole in the ground. It was a crater. I went back to my office because there wasn’t anything I could do.”

That night he heard that first responders needed ice and drinking water; and the Salvation Army requested food for workers. Eventually, the need was for 300 meals each for breakfast, lunch, and dinner; and 100 meals at midnight for overnight workers handling site security. Camp Allegheny was among those who helped feed and house workers. The camp also provided a stable for 16 horses of the mounted state police. Slade said eight horses worked at a time, with police patrolling the wooded areas around the crash site. “We had some Red Cross and Salvation Army people stay at the camp,” Slade said. “The Chaplain from the National Guard who was operating the temporary morgue at the site, stayed in our home because he could not get any rest at the armory.”

“When I look back, we had phone call after phone call asking, ‘what can I do?’ They wanted to do something. We had people come into the kitchen and cook,” Slade said. “I don’t know if that same kind of attitude would happen today. Maybe it would. The people on that flight—they gave all, and a lot of people have an appreciation for that. It’s the kind of feeling that holds on to people and it inspires them to help when there is nothing else you can do.”

. . . “It was a really uniting time across the country. People mostly wanted to do something. There was a unified spirit in America. Everybody wanted to chip in. That has changed big time since then,” Wagner said. “There weren’t any Republicans or Democrats. We were just Americans. It’s a shame people forget so quickly. It’s still a democracy and we have the Constitution— it’s just different— attitudes of pride and attitudes of selfishness. It’s discouraging. We’ve gone through tough times before. I hope and pray the good Lord has mercy and calls godly leaders in the future.” (The Epoch Times)

- Father, we are eternally grateful to You and to the passengers of Flight 93 who, like You, laid down their lives so that others might live and thrive. Their selfless actions likely spared our capital city and many more lives because of their courage and obedience to Your Spirit. Bless too the countless people that heard the cries for help on many fronts in Shanksville and gave their time, talents and resources sacrificially.

We pray, Father God, that the memories of those who died and those who helped would never be forgotten. We pray especially that the younger generation would hear of the heroism and unity exhibited during 9-11 and for a time afterward. Forgive our nation for sliding back into a self-absorbed lifestyle and not loving You with our whole hearts and loving our neighbors as ourselves.

Lord, shake us out of our stupor, take down the walls around our hearts, and set us free from the spirit of self protection. May we live fully and fearlessly following Your heart. Your kingdom come, Your will be done, in each of us Lord Jesus, knowing that Your love, Your power and Your perfect sacrifice are more than sufficient for all that concerns us.

- "Greater love has no one than this, that a person will lay down his life for his friends."  (John 15:13)
FOCUS ON ISRAEL

1. Lapid in Moscow: Israel reserves right to act against Iran to prevent nukes - JNS News

“Iran’s march towards a nuclear weapon is not only an Israeli problem; it’s a problem for the entire world,” said Israel’s foreign minister. Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid said during a state visit to Moscow on Thursday that the Jewish state reserves the right to act to stop Iran’s nuclear program.

After meeting with his counterpart, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Lapid said during a joint press conference that “a nuclear Iran will lead to a nuclear arms race in the Middle East.” As such, he called for a strong, clear message to be sent to the Islamic Republic.

He said “Iran’s march towards a nuclear weapon is not only an Israeli problem; it’s a problem for the entire world.”

The two foreign ministers also discussed Israel’s attacks on Iranian activity in Syria.

Lavrov said Russia is opposed to Syrian territory being exploited for attacks against Israel or any other country. He added that Russian and Israeli military officers conduct continuous security dialogue on a daily basis regarding Syria, adding that such coordination has proven its efficiency. (Read more)

2. Bennett promises settler leaders building planning won’t be frozen - Jerusalem Post

Prime Minister Naftali Bennett promised not to freeze the advancement and approval of building plans for new West Bank Jewish homes, during a meeting with settler leaders on Thursday.

“It was a positive meeting,” said Yesha Council CEO Yigal Dilmoni, adding that the main goal was to set up a structure to allow for a good working relationship.

It was Bennett’s first meeting with the Yesha Council since he took office in May. (Read more)

3. Exhausted, out of food: How 4 fugitives were caught, with help of Arab Israelis - Times of Israel

Five days into a national manhunt for six Palestinian security prisoners who escaped from a high-security jail in northern Israel, police captured two of the fugitives in Nazareth Friday night. Hours later, two others — including notorious terror commander Zakaria Zubeidi — were apprehended in the nearby town of Shibli–Umm al-Ghanam.

In both cases, Arab Israelis who encountered the fugitives reported them to authorities, aiding in their capture. Police sources told Walla news that dozens of Arabs phoned in reports in recent days.

The fugitives had managed to avoid capture since breaking out of Gilboa Prison early Monday.

Two of their fellow escapees remained on the run.

Police sources told the Ynet news site on Saturday that despite earlier assessments that the prisoners had had outside help and that a getaway vehicle had driven them away, authorities now believed they’d acted alone and traveled on foot the entire time. (Read more)

4. Hamas threatens to escalate West Bank clashes after capture of fugitives - Jerusalem Post

Hamas released a statement on Saturday morning, stating that the capture of four of the escaped Gilboa fugitives is "yet another round of confrontation with Israel."

"The escape revived the Palestinian people's hopes that it is only a matter of time until the West Bank 'blows up' in Israel's face," the terrorist organization said.

Palestinian factions have vowed to end all talks of a ceasefire with Israel following the re-capture of the Gilboa Prison fugitives they called "heroic," according to Palestinian media.

5. ‘PA not strong enough to lead Gaza reconstruction,’ US senator says after visit - Times of Israel

The Palestinian Authority is not strong enough to play a major role in the ongoing Gaza reconstruction efforts, a senior Democratic senator said during a Friday briefing on the recent Congressional delegation trip he led in the region.

“My sense is that the PA is not in a strong enough of a position in Gaza right now to be able to administer the reconstruction in the way they had been in the past, so we’re gonna have to put together some international consortium,” said Chris Murphy, who chairs the Senate Foreign Relations Subcommittee on Near East, South Asia, Central Asia and Counterterrorism.

The PA has had almost no influence in Gaza since the Hamas terror group violently seized the territory in 2007 from PA President Mahmoud Abbas’s Fatah, leading Israel and Egypt to institute a stifling blockade which they say is to prevent the smuggling of weapons, but has also decimated the economy.

Murphy noted that Egypt — which is brokering ongoing indirect negotiations between Israel and Hamas in Cairo to solidify a long-term ceasefire following the last major conflict in May — has also been involved in reconstruction efforts, but lamented that this has largely been limited to “clearance of debris and rubble” from the Strip.

“It’s taken too long for the international community to come to the table with a workable plan on Gaza reconstruction,” Murphy said. (Read more)

1. Biden declares war on DeSantis and Abbott: 'Get them out of the way' - Fox News

President Biden condemned Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., Greg Abbott, R-Texas, and other Republican governors on Thursday for their responses to COVID-19 and threatened to use his presidential powers to overrule their authority. During a speech at the White House regarding his executive order to boost COVID-19 vaccinations, Biden called out the Americans who have not been vaccinated. "This is a pandemic of the unvaccinated," said Biden. "And it's caused by the fact that despite America having [an] unprecedented and successful vaccination program, despite the fact that for almost five months, free vaccines have been available in more than 80,000 different locations, we still have nearly 80 million Americans who have failed to get the shot."

Biden then pivoted to go after governors who he believes are not enforcing adequately strict COVID-19 protocols. And to make matters worse, there are elected officials actively working to undermine the fight against COVID-19," he said. "Instead of encouraging people to get vaccinated and mask up, they’re ordering mobile morgues for the unvaccinated dying from COVID in their communities. "Right now, local school officials are trying to keep children safe in a pandemic while their governor picks a fight with them and even threatens their salaries or their jobs. Talk about bullying in schools," Biden also said. "If they’ll not help, if these governors won’t help us beat the pandemic, I’ll use my power as president to get them out of the way," he added.

Biden specifically promised to reimburse teachers "whose pay is withheld from doing the right thing" by enforcing his administration's mask mandates. "We will have that pay restored by the federal government, 100 percent. I promise you. I will hve your back," he said. (Read more)

- Father God, more and more as the days go by, we are seeing Joe Biden move into the mindset of being a true tyrant, who wants only his will to be done and not that of
the benefit of the American people. We ask that You deliver his mind from this demonic grip and we ask You to deliver our people from Joe Biden. In Your name we offer this prayer, amen and amen,

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free, and that the time of the Lord’s favor has come.” (Luke 4:18,19 NLT)

2. Republicans explode with fury over Biden vaccine mandate: 'Absolutely unconstitutional' - Fox News

Republican members of Congress and state governors were appalled by news Thursday that President Joe Biden will force employers with more than 100 workers to require coronavirus vaccinations or test employees weekly, vowing to block the new policy and terming it unconstitutional. The mandate, which is expected to affect as many as 100 million Americans in an array of jobs, including health care, directly impacts the private sector.

This is unconstitutional," said Rep. Robert Aderholt, R-Ala. "The U.S. Constitution does not give the President this type of authority. No where in Article 2 of the Constitution will you find anything that even remotely gives the President this kind of power." "The federal government has no authority to force businesses in Texas and across the country to mandate their employees get vaccinated. American businesses are still recovering from this past year and a half. It is cruel and burdensome to impose this authoritarian mandate," Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, said in a statement Friday.

Arizona Republican Gov. Doug Ducey vowed to "push back" against Biden. "This is exactly the kind of big government overreach we have tried so hard to prevent in Arizona — now the Biden-Harris administration is hammering down on private businesses and individual freedoms in an unprecedented and dangerous way," Ducey wrote. "This will never stand up in court." "This dictatorial approach is wrong, un-American and will do far more harm than good," Ducey added in another tweet. "How many workers will be displaced? How many kids kept out of classrooms? How many businesses fined? The vaccine is and should be a choice. We must and will push back."

Republican South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem also weighed in on the news, saying the state is ready to hold the Biden administration legally responsible for the "unconstitutional rule. My legal team is standing by ready to file our lawsuit the minute @joebiden files his unconstitutional rule," Noem wrote in a tweet. "This gross example of federal intrusion will not stand." (Read more)

- Father God, we pray You dispatch myriads of holy angels to wage war against this administration and protect our citizens in the US.  Turn this around, Lord, and release Americans from this tyranny.  Deliver us from this unconstitutional mandate.  We pray for divine intervention from heaven to wage all out war against this administration and pull it down.  We are to abide by the Constitution and God's guidance only.  In Jesus' Name we pray.

- "For I will defend this country and save it for Mine Own sake.  Then the angel of the Lord went forth, and smote in the camp of the Assyrians a hundred and fourscore and five thousand: and when they arose early in the morning, behold, they were all dead corpses."  (Isaiah 37:36-37)

3. Fauci: No ‘Firm Answer’ on Why Americans Who Recovered From COVID-19 Should Get Vaccinated - Epoch Times

Dr. Anthony Fauci . . . said that a new study regarding so-called natural immunity following COVID-19 infection is provoking discussion among government experts. The real-world study, conducted by Israeli researchers, found that previous COVID-19 infection confers better protection against infection and hospitalization than COVID-19 vaccines. Fauci, the longtime director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, was asked Friday about the research in the context of convincing people who have natural immunity, or recovered from COVID-19, to get vaccinated.

“I get calls all the time people say, ‘I’ve already had COVID, I’m protected.’ And now the study says maybe even more protected than the vaccine alone. Should they also get the vaccine? How do you make the case to them?” Dr. Sanjay Gupta asked Fauci during an appearance on CNN.

“I don’t have a really firm answer for you on that,” Fauci responded. “That’s something that we’re going to have to discuss regarding the durability of the response. The one thing that paper from Israel didn’t tell you is whether or not—as high as the protection is with natural infection—what’s the durability compared to the durability of a vaccine? So it is conceivable that you got infected, you’re protected, but you may not be protected for an indefinite period of time,” he continued. “So I think that is something that we need to sit down and discuss seriously because you very appropriately pointed out, it is an issue, and there could be an argument for saying what you said.” (Read more)

- Almighty God, we bow our knees before you and pray as a nation turning to the Lord God, for deliverance from the craziness of Fauci's confusing retort.  Set our nation free from manipulation from Biden, Fauci and everyone else who is using experimentation  and visualization that promotes fear in our families.  We pray there be a touch of the mighty hand of God upon all Americans.  Bring repentance across our land, confession of sin, seeking knowledge from Almighty God by praying and yielding our minds and hearts to go God's way.  Deliver us, Lord.  In Jesus' Name.

- "And be not conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."  (Romans 12:2)

4. Los Angeles school officials order vaccines for students 12 and up - Reuters

Los Angeles County school officials ordered COVID-19 vaccinations for all students aged 12 and over on Thursday, the largest school district in the United States to take that dramatic step. School board members voted unanimously to mandate the shots in the coming weeks despite angry objections from several parents who said they were worried about the safety of vaccines and had the right to make the decision for their children.

"I do not see this as your choice or my choice," board member Jackie Goldberg said. "I see this as a community necessity. That means people have to do things they're not comfortable with, they're not sure of, that may even contain some risk."

The Los Angeles school district vaccine policy applies to all of the district's more than 600,000 students who are 12 or older, unless they can establish a medical or religious exemption. The board previously mandated that all employees be inoculated.

All three parents who spoke at the meeting in opposition to forced vaccinations spoke in Spanish and said they should be the ones making such critical decisions about their children's health. "Can we sue the district if our child has secondary side effects that are negative?" a parent who identified himself as Juan asked the board. None of the members responded directly to him. - Almighty God, we pray You deliver all Americans, young children up to adults, from this act of national genocide.  God, deliver us from this diabolical spirit that pushes death upon our nation through vaccines laced with poisonous additives from the Wuhan labs.  We pray for repentance and deliverance from these forces of dark evil.  In Jesus' Name we pray.

- "For of God, and through God, and to God, are all things to whom be glory forever.  Amen."  (Romans 11:36)

5. Homeschooled Students in America Doubled during Pandemic, Studies Show - Christian Headlines

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, more parents have decided to homeschool their children in place of sending them to public schools. According to Census data, 11.1 percent of U.S. households with school-aged children reported homeschooling by the fall of the 2020-2021 school year. In May of last spring, that rate was 5.4 percent, demonstrating a 5.6 percent increase and a doubling in the number of homeschooling families by the start of the 2020-2021 school year.

Several parents spoke with The Federalist about why they decided to homeschool their kids and shared how the move has benefited them throughout the pandemic. Sam Cavanough, a mother in Tennessee, told the outlet that her family made the move not only so she could teach her children at home but also so her family could spend more time together. She also noted how the pandemic and ensuing restrictions made her decision to homeschool much easier. While public schools offered online learning, Cavanough preferred homeschooling because it allowed her to go “at our own pace” as opposed to having her kids “sit in front of the computer all day.”

According to Herzog Foundation chairman Todd Graves, “Christian school parents found it easier to manage their child’s time, communicate with teachers, manage their child’s assignments, and were better able to keep up their child’s morale than the parents of children in public schools. As a result, while just over half of public school parents reported being satisfied with their child’s education in 2020, fully 80 percent of Christian school parents were,” he said. (Read more)

- Righteous Father, we ask for a super-abundant gift of faith and wisdom to be distributed to every parent in the United States.  We pray for a miracle, Lord, to bring the fathers and mothers into a compatible mindset to teach their children wholesomeness and gifted intelligence from the Lord.  We bind and break the powers of sin that cause divorce and endow each mom and dad with a holy love that brings peace and cooperation within the family unit.  We pray in Jesus' Name.

- "Let love be without dissimulation (pretense).  Abhor that which is evil, cleave to that which is good.  Be Kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honor preferring one another."  (Romans 12:9-10)

6. DeSantis Responds to Biden’s Vaccine Mandate: ‘In Florida, We Will Fight Back’ - Epoch Times

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said his state will fight back against President Joe Biden’s plan for the Labor Department to draft an emergency rule that would require all employers with 100 or more employees “ensure their workforces are fully vaccinated or show a negative test at least once a week.”

During remarks on Sept. 9, Biden said that the United States “can and will turn the tide” against COVID-19 by mass vaccinations, while casting blame “at the 80 million” people who haven’t been vaccinated. “We’re in a tough stretch,” he said. “This is not about freedom or personal choice,” he said. “It’s about protecting yourself and those around you.”

“Governor DeSantis is focused on working for Floridians,” Christina Pushaw, press secretary for DeSantis told The Epoch Times. “Yesterday’s White House spectacle was a desperate attempt to regain control of the narrative and distract from the Biden administration’s abject failures: Afghanistan, the border crisis, and the COVID-19 response.”

Vaccine mandates are unscientific, ineffective, and fundamentally wrong,” she said. “In Florida, we will fight back.” (Read more)

- Almighty God, we pray that the defense for good, shown in Florida will become the mindset of Americans nationwide.  We stand together in praying God will bring the debacle surrounding this administration to come to a definitive halt.  No More.  We pray, No More.  God, target everyone in the shadow government for an instant takedown.  May we all take on the responsibility to live godly lives so we will reap peace and godliness.  We pray in the Name of Jesus.

- "But if you refuse and rebel, you shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the Lord has spoken it."  (Isaiah 1:20)

7. BREAKING!  England Drops Vaccine Passport Plan - The Epoch Times

The plan to mandate CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus vaccine passports for nightclubs and crowded events in England will not go ahead, UK Health Secretary Sajid Javid said on Sunday.

It comes after British lawmakers across the political spectrum voiced strong opposition to the plans this week.

Speaking on the BBC’s “The Andrew Marr Show” on Sunday, the health secretary said he “never liked the idea” of forcing people to show their papers in everyday activities, but the government was right to look at the evidence.

“What I can say is that we’ve looked at it properly and whilst we should keep it in reserve as a potential option, I’m pleased to say that we will not be going ahead with plans for vaccine passports,” Javid said. (Read more)

- Father God, we shout HALLELUJAH at this news, and we pray that our own Congress and other governing authorities would now follow the example of the British Parliament, should the Biden administration begin talking about vaccine passports in our nation.

8. UN, human rights groups condemn Taliban's violent crackdown on women-led protests, journalists - Christian Post

The United Nations and human rights groups have condemned the Taliban's ban on all demonstrations and the use of violence days after women took to the streets to protest Afghanistan's newly formed interim government that includes more than a dozen leaders who are designated terrorists and ex-Guantanamo detainees.

In a statement released Friday, the U.N. condemned the Taliban for its “increasingly violent response” to organized peaceful protests in which militants used “live ammunition, batons and whips” to beat women and journalists.

“We call on the Taliban to immediately cease the use of force towards, and the arbitrary detention of, those exercising their right to peaceful assembly and the journalists covering the protests," a spokeswoman for the U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights said in a press statement, adding that the Taliban killed four people during recent demonstrations.

“As Afghan women and men take to the streets during this time of great uncertainty in their country to press peacefully for their human rights to be respected — including women’s right to work, to freedom of movement, to education and political participation — it is crucial that those in power listen to their voices,” the U.N.'s statement continued.

The beating of women and journalists in Kabul’s Karte Char neighborhood occurred on the same day the Taliban announced the ban on all slogans, demonstrations and protests that don’t have official approval, The Wall Street Journal reported.

“Their government doesn’t count us as citizens of this country even though we are half of the population,” a protesting woman was quoted as saying. “We don’t care if they beat us or even shoot us, we want to defend our rights. We will continue our protests even if we get killed.” (Read more)

- Almighty God, unto You that hears prayer, shall all flesh come.  God, whoever is motivated by a spirit of murder, brutality, violence, rage and the like will have a God encounter.  Father, go to the defense of these women and/or men who are standing up for their human rights in Afghanistan.  Reveal to these killers that they are committing acts that are answerable to God.  Protect these women, Lord, and even these children with Your protective hand to stave off these raging killers.  We trust You and pray in Jesus' Name.

- "Who delivers us from so great a death, and does deliver, in whom we trust that He will yet deliver us."  (2 Corinthians 1:10)

9. World must stop Afghanistan from being used for terror: India, Australia - Times of India

NEW DELHI: India and Australia on Friday resolved to further consolidate their defence ties and work towards a free, open and inclusive Indo-Pacific to deter China's aggressive behavior, while also expressing concern at the threat of trans-border terrorism emanating from the Taliban-controlled Afghanistan.
Ahead of the first-ever “two-plus-two” ministerial dialogue between the two countries on Saturday, defence minister Rajnath Singh and his Australian counterpart Peter Dutton said the bilateral defence and security partnership will be taken to “greater heights” in delegation-level talks.

This growing strategic convergence will be reflected in expanding military exchanges, combat exercises and mutual logistics support between the two countries as well as strengthening cooperation in maritime security, intelligence-sharing and emerging defence technologies. The two ministers discussed the deteriorating human rights situation in Afghanistan, with stepped-up violations against women, children and minorities being witnessed in the landlocked country. “Australia also shared India’s concern that trans-border terrorism emanating from Afghanistan would negatively impact the other countries in the region,” said a source.

The two sides stressed that the international community must do everything to implement UN Security Council Resolution 2593, which demands Afghanistan’s territory should not be used for terrorism and the Taliban should provide an inclusive government while respecting human rights. After the over an hour-long meeting, Singh said, “Both of us are keen to work jointly to realise the full potential of the India-Australia `Comprehensive Strategic Partnership’ (upgraded to this level in June 2020). This partnership is based on our shared vision of a free, open, inclusive and rules-based Indo-Pacific region.” (Read more)

- Righteous Father, we pray for a lock-down to be instituted against the terrorists in Afghanistan, the terrorists in India, the terrorists in Australia, in Israel, in China, Viet Nam, Indonesia, Korea, Japan, England and the Middle East.  The is an instantaneous action with the God of the Universe.  Lord, You are in control and we pray You will nullify this wickedness in these countries.  May we be alerted in the news that God has answered this prayer.  Save souls around the world. We pray in Jesus' Name.

- "God delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them which hated me: for they were too strong for me."  (Psalm 18:17)

10. Obama's Defense Secretary: US Should Prepare Itself for More Attacks in Wake of Biden's Afghan Retreat - Western Journal

Former Defense Secretary Leon Panetta has warned that President Joe Biden’s Afghanistan exit strategy could lead to future terror attacks against the U.S. as the Taliban now again rules the country after two decades of U.S. occupation. But with last month’s shocking withdrawal, Afghanistan will now again become a haven for terrorists with the Islamic State group’s Afghanistan affiliate — and Panetta is breaking with Democrats.

In a teaser for an interview set to be aired Sunday with Greta Van Susteren, Panetta said Afghanistan under Taliban rule will “continue to provide a safe haven for terrorists,” The Hill reported.

“I think that the Taliban taking over Afghanistan is pretty much the same Taliban that controlled Afghanistan on 9/11,” Panetta told Van Susteren. “And that was pretty much confirmed recently, when they appointed hardliners to their government, people who were in power on 9/11, and in addition, appointed Haqqani as interior minister, a global terrorist, really, to be interior secretary and in charge of internal security.”

Panetta is not sold on promises from the Taliban that it will run a secure and dignified country. He cited the brutality of the group, particularly against women, when speaking with Van Susteren. (Read more)

- Lord God, we thank You that Leon Panetta is speaking the truth and warning the danger that our nation is actually facing now. In so doing, we thank You for his courage, stripping the veneer off of the lies of the current administration. Amen.

- "This is what the Lord says to me: “Go, post a lookout and have him report what he sees." (Is. 21:6)

11. Chaplain who ministered to hundreds of families at ground zero reflects on God's faithfulness - Christian Post

Twenty years after the events of Sept. 11, 2001, a Navy chaplain who ministered to hundreds of grieving families at ground zero has shared the incredible ways God showed up amid tragedy and provided comfort to those suffering. Jim Jenkins, who was a Navy chaplain serving with the Coast Guard as part of the Chaplains’ Emergency Response Team, traveled to ground zero mere days after al-Qaeda affiliated terrorists hijacked four commercial jetliners and flew them into the twin towers of the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, killing nearly 3,000 people.

What Jenkins saw when he arrived at the wreckage of the towers will forever be engrained in his memory. “The only way I could describe it is, I saw footage of Berlin after the bombing. It looked like that as far as your eye could see. The TV couldn't give you a sense of the scope of the massive debris field,” he told The Christian Post. “It was so intense, so sobering. The Lord had the appointments made for me already, who I was going to talk to, who was going to walk up to me, and what I was supposed to say. I got there right when I needed to, and not a moment before.”

But even in his darkest moments, Jenkins said he feels the hand of God comforting him, telling him that He is present in even the bleakest of circumstances. “Something happens when you pray, when you cry out to God with groanings too deep for words,” he said. “Wherever we are, the Lord will meet us right in the midst of our brokenness.”

He noted that tragedies present a unique opportunity for the Church. Like 9/11, in the midst of a pandemic, many people are asking, “Where is God in the middle of this? I can tell you firsthand that God is here,” he emphasized. “I'm encouraging believers to remember that. Jesus helped me in my rubble. He helped me when I was afraid. This is an unusual, open door for the Church to be forthright about who the Lord is and what He can do.” (Read more)

- Father God, as You look down from heaven and see all the torturous acts of the Taliban in Afghanistan, we lay hold of this encouragement of Jim Jenkins during the 9/11 debacle.  You were there with him and all those who lost loved ones and You are with all of us today to show Yourself strong in the lives of the tortured.  We pray and plead for our God to intervene in a miraculous, never before seen happenstance as You reach out Your hand and perform wondrous acts that will rock this world.  "Vengeance is mine, says the Lord.  I will repay."  In the Name of Jesus we pray.

- "Therefore has the Lord watched upon the evil, and brought it upon us: for the Lord our God is righteous in all His works which he does, for we obeyed not his voice."  (Daniel 9:14)

12.  Trump pays tribute to 9/11 during visit to New York police precinct, hints at 2024 run - Fox News

Former President Trump on Saturday hinted that he might run for president again in 2024 during a visit on the 20th anniversary of 9/11 to the New York Police Department's (NYPD) 17th precinct. The former president, a New York native, spoke briefly about the Sept. 11, 2001, attack on the World Trade Center, the recent Afghanistan withdrawal and took questions from the police officers.

Trump called the 20th anniversary of 9/11 a "very sad day for a lot of reasons," referring to both the attack and the botched withdrawal of U.S. troops from Afghanistan in recent weeks, and praised the brave NYPD officers. "I grew up with you and you are New York's finest. You're incredible people. I know many of you," said Trump.

The former president also called Biden's withdrawal from Afghanistan "gross incompetence" and criticized other aspects of the U.S. withdrawal.

When asked by a NYPC officer whether he'd run for president a second time, Trump responded, "That's a tough question. Actually, for me, it's an easy question. I mean, I know what I'm going to do, but I'm not supposed to be talking about it yet from the standpoint of campaign finance laws, which, frankly, are ridiculous," said Trump.  "But I think you're going to be happy," the former president said. - Almighty God, former President Trump's words are like a fresh breeze from heaven.  Lay Your hand upon him and guide him continually to walk in Your perfect will as You prepare him for the near future.  Strengthen him each day and give him great wisdom and knowledge to walk through a mine field that others have laid for him.  Protect him by holding him in Your hands and fight all his wars from heaven without personal harm.  We thank You, Lord, and ask all this in the wonderful Name of Jesus.

- "And I prayed unto the Lord God, and made my confession, and said, O Lord, the great and dreadful God, keeping the covenant, and mercy to them that love Him, and to them that keep His commandments."  (Daniel 9:3-4)
California's Recall Election is on TUESDAY!
California's recall election of Gov. Gavin Newsom is Tuesday. Here's what's at stake

LOS ANGELES – The governorship of California is just one piece of what is at stake in this week's historic recall election of Gavin Newsom. An upset in the race to remove the liberal leader – in a state that boasts 5 million more Democrats than Republicans – would carry implications that would explode well beyond the nation's most-populous state.

Though polls give Newsom an edge, experts say a loss could embolden Republicans across the nation who oppose vaccine mandates and other COVID-19 restrictions, undermine California’s reputation as a progressive trendsetter and jeopardize Democrats’ control of the U.S. Senate.

Only twice in U.S. history has a governor been ousted from office in a recall election: once in North Dakota in 1921 and the other in 2003 in California when Gray Davis was removed from office and replaced by movie star Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Republicans in the race have made the case that this election could turn a new page for the state, which deals with chronic wildfires and droughts, along with a lack of affordable housing that has helped fuel a worsening homelessness crisis.

“California is in crisis right now. And not only with natural disasters, but by man-made disasters made by politicians like Gavin Newsom,” said Randy Economy, one of the original organizers of the recall effort. (USA Today) Read more.

- Continue to pray regarding California’s upcoming recall election on Sept. 14 to remove Governor Newsom. Pray for Larry Elder who is a godly man and presently leading in the polls. The LEFT hate him and are doing all they can to keep him from winning. Pray for a FAIR election and voting fraud will not take place. (Prayer offered by Intercessors for America)

-  "When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice:
but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn."
(Proverbs 29:2)
The painting behind Taliban fighters in Kabul presidential palace is worth a thousand words
The scene depicted in the enormous painting represents something of a mixed
symbolic bag for the Taliban foot soldiers posed before it.

When Taliban gunmen posed behind former Afghan President Ashraf Ghani’s “ornate wooden desk” in the Kabul presidential palace they had seized, the scene “served as visual confirmation that power in the country had fully shifted hands.” So noted an Aug. 16 New York Times report, but that and other stories with similar photos neglected the enormous painting on the wall behind the militants.

The painting depicts a mid-18th-century scene, in which a large crowd looks on as Sufi mystic Sabir Shah crowns the kneeling political and military leader Aḥmad Shah Durrānī, considered the founder of the modern Afghan state. Modestly, the dervish places a crown of wheat — a crop so vital it appears in the Afghan emblem — rather than precious metals and gemstones on Durrānī’s head.

The historic coronation is very significant to Afghan people, according to Jennifer Brick Murtazashvili, an associate professor at the University of Pittsburgh and co-author of the new book “Land, the State, and War: Property Institutions and Political Order in Afghanistan.”

“For many, it represents the founding of the Afghan state in 1747,” she said.

Murtazashvili noted the coronation, which occurred near Kandahar, Afghanistan’s second largest city, marked the beginning of what became the Durrānī empire, with the military leader depicted in the painting being named “Pearl of Pearls.” The modern Afghan state was still centuries away, but many Afghans mark their state’s founding to this 1747 episode, she said. 'Turning to God, the Ultimate Answer to Evil': Trump Tells Americans at 'Let Us Worship' 9/11 Event

Former President Donald Trump urged Americans to pray for our nation in honor of the men and women who perished during the terrorist attacks on September 11th, 2001.

Trump addressed the nation Saturday in a recorded video that aired during Sean Feucht's "Let Us Worship" prayer event on the National Mall.

"It is an absolutely profound honor to address all of you gathered at the National Mall on this very solemn day of remembrance and prayer as our nation commemorates the 20th anniversary of the terrorist attacks of September 11th, 2001 ... a terrible day," Trump said.

"I want to thank Sean Feucht and everyone from the amazing Let Us Worship movement for hosting this very beautiful and very incredible event. Since last year, you've brought worship and prayer to 132 cities all across the country, including the largest church service right here in our nation's Capital by uniting citizens of all denominations and backgrounds to promote faith and freedom in America," he continued. "You are strengthening our entire nation and we thank you for it. There could be no more fitting night for American's to join hands and bow our heads in prayer than this evening."

As he concluded his speech, Trump commended Let Us Worship for calling Americans to pray for one another despite our differences as we navigate through these challenging times together.

"I want to thank Let Us Worship for calling Americans to 21 days of prayer in the coming weeks. America is a nation strengthened and sustained by God and the prayers of all His children. Your faith is a force that our enemies can never, ever extinguish," he said. "Your love of God, family, and country is more powerful than any adversaries' hatred, or malice, or scorn. So as we remember those Americans we lost two decades ago, we return again and again to the same simple prayer that was heard echoing all across our land in the days after the Sept. 11th attacks. God bless our first responders. God bless our service members. God bless the memory of all who died on 9/11 and God bless America." (CBN) Read more.

SpaceX to raise bar for space tourism with Inspiration4 launch

ORLANDO, Fla. Sept. 10 (UPI) -- SpaceX plans to reach new heights, literally, for space tourism Wednesday by launching the Inspiration4 mission from Florida -- the first all-private spaceflight to orbit the Earth.

Two men and two women are scheduled to lift off in a Dragon capsule atop a Falcon 9 rocket from Kennedy Space Center as early as 1 a.m. EDT.

The mission is the brainchild of American businessman Jared Isaacman, founder of Pennsylvania-based payments processing company Shift4 Payments.

Isaccman, who Forbes says is worth $2.4 billion, paid SpaceX an undisclosed sum for the flight. He also pledged a $100 million donation to Memphis-based St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, while mounting a fundraising effort to raise an additional $100 million.

He chose St. Jude as benefactor because he was moved by the suffering and possible shortened lives of children with cancer, he told UPI in February. "There is no more worthwhile organization to benefit," Isaacman said.

Jeff Bezos' Blue Origin took two private individuals into space in July, but that was a suborbital flight for about 10 minutes that rose 62 miles. Inspiration4 is to spend several days in space, although the exact duration hasn't been announced and may depend on how the flight unfolds. Read More

People Ecstatic as Mass Secret Admirer Leaves Personal Surprises for Dozens of People

Over the past year, dozens of people started receiving packages that contained a note and a small jar with their name on it.

“Hi, I’m a compliment jar,” the note read. “When you are feeling sad, angry, lonely, or just need a boost, pick out a piece of paper from inside to read. “I hope you enjoy and get a little happiness from this gesture, because I think you are amazing!”

The compliments weren’t run-of-the-mill, one-size-fits-all sayings, either. They were crafted for each individual, each one proof that the giver knew the recipient thoroughly.

But the notes weren’t signed. There was no name, no way to tell where the little verbal sunshine had come from, other than the handwriting style and the thoughtfulness displayed in the word choices.

“The best way to bring 2020 to a close,” one person wrote. “Found a small, unmarked package in my mail today and these were the contents. No idea who it’s from. Sometimes the universe knows exactly what you need. I don’t know what I did to deserve such a wonderful, thoughtful, and caring friend (whoever you are) but please know that this is deeply appreciated. This touched me to the core. The thoughtfulness that went into this is amazing.”

“I hope whoever did give this to me realizes just how much I needed this gift,” wrote another. “I’ve opened it and read one when I needed it, but tonight I dumped it all out and read every single nice thing this person said about me.”

Eventually, the secret admirer’s identity was revealed: Kimberly Wybenga, 38, of Northglenn, Colorado, had sent those jars in hopes of raising the spirits of her friends and acquaintances during a time when she knew many people were struggling.

In all, Wybenga sent 50 jars and 1,750 compliments into the world — quite a force for good.

“I know everyone is dealing with some kind of struggle and I just thought it would be nice to support them any way I could, even if I didn’t know what they were going through,” Wybenga told Good News Network.

Her video closes with a reflection and a challenge that she hopes people will pick up and run with. “During this stressful time, before you speak, ask yourself if you are going to brighten someone’s day or add to the darkness,” she wrote. “There’s so much we can’t control right now but we can control our words, and the grace and kindness we display. Be the light.” (Good News Network) Read more.

From CHPP: It's time to LAUNCH THE BOOMERANG!
Dear Friends,

Today we have shared with you two wonderful stories showing that good has overcome evil in our land and in our lives. The TOP STORY reports this news out of Shanksville; and the Good News section brings news of a "secret admirer" project, aiming to brighten the day of scores of friends.

Praise the Lord!

Each time, the theme is that there remains yet a spirit of UNITY in our land -- a spirit of grace, peace, and truth.

On this year's anniversary of 9/11, GOD seems to have unleashed a "BOOMERANG" among us, so that what Satan has meant for evil (9/11; the pandemic; Afghanistan, etc.), He is turning to GOOD!

WE PRAY THAT THIS IS SO!

"What Satan meant for evil, GOD has turned to good!"  (Genesis 50:20)

Please find below numerous verses that promise that GOD WILL LOOSE A BOOMERANG AGAINST THE PLANS OF SATAN, causing his plans to fall to the ground and fail!  Let's all print out these verses and tuck them in our Bibles, pulling them out each day so we, too, can declare that the plans of the enemy will FAIL, in God's time.

In CHRIST, we place our hope! Amen!

Thoughts for Repentance
40 Days of Prayer

JUDGING OTHERS | DAY 25
This is day twenty five in our journey. Join us even if you are beginning today. Each day starting Saturday August 7 we have posted a sin which the Lord would have us confess and remove through personal repentance. God willing, these 40 days will lead us to the Day of Atonement, Yom Kippur September 15.

This process is taking place during the month of Elul, a period of reflection, introspection, and repentance before the Days of Awe. The shofar is sounded in each morning’s prayer service during Elul as a call to repentance. It’s believed that in Elul, Adonai forgave our people and relented from destroying us. Elul is also a time to contemplate G-d’s lovingkindness and forgiveness. The hebrew letters that spell the month Elul - אלול - stand for “I am my Beloved's, and my Beloved is mine.” According to Jewish tradition the King is in the field during Elul and this is the season to meet Him there.

Today the sin is judging others.

There's a SPIRITUAL DROUGHT in every nation on the planet. We are not yet honoring the Authority of the Risen Christ that He revealed in Matthew 28:18: " ALL authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth."

In the Garden

Words and Music:  C. Austin Miles

Scripture: Thinking He was the gardener, she said, Sir, if you have carried Him away, tell me where you have put Him, and I will get Him. John 20:15

Lyrics:
I come to the garden alone
While the dew is still on the roses
And the voice I hear falling on my ear
The Son of God discloses.

Refrain

And He walks with me, and He talks with me,
And He tells me I am His own;
And the joy we share as we tarry there,
None other has ever known.

He speaks, and the sound of His voice,
Is so sweet the birds hush their singing,
And the melody that He gave to me
Within my heart is ringing.

Refrain

I’d stay in the garden with Him
Though the night around me be falling,
But He bids me go; through the voice of woe
His voice to me is calling.

Refrain
