Biden Plans COVID-19 Vaccine Mandate for 80 Million Private Sector Workers
|
|
|
President Joe Biden will direct the Department of Labor to develop a rule that companies with more than 100 employees will require vaccinations or once-per-week testing for their workers, potentially impacting tens of millions of U.S. private-sector employees, according to a White House fact sheet.
The administration’s rule will require that “all employers with 100 or more employees to ensure their workforce is fully vaccinated or require any workers who remain unvaccinated to produce a negative test result on at least a weekly basis before coming to work,” which will impact more than 80 million workers in the private sector.
The Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) will issue an Emergency Temporary Standard to implement the requirement, the document said. It did not make any mention regarding religious exemption or individuals whose doctors have recommended against getting COVID-19 shots.
Biden will further sign an executive order requiring most federal employees and contractors to get a COVID-19 vaccine without the option of getting regular testing, according to the document. Federal workers unions suggested on Thursday they would accept the vaccine mandate.
“As part of this effort, the Department of Defense, the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Indian Health Service, and the National Institute of Health will complete implementation of their previously announced vaccination requirements that cover 2.5 million people,” said the document. 1. Jordan to host energy meeting to discuss gas supplies to Lebanon - Israel Hayom
Jordan will host a meeting of Egypt, Syria and Lebanon's energy ministers on Wednesday to discuss transportation of Egyptian gas to Lebanon for electricity generation, said state-owned broadcaster Mamlaka.
The United States has been in talks with Egypt and Jordan over a plan to ease Lebanon's power crisis which involves using Egyptian gas to generate power in Jordan that would be transmitted via Syria.
A top-level Lebanese delegation went to Damascus on Saturday to pave the way for the US-backed plan to ease the power shortages in Lebanon.
US sanctions on Damascus are a complicating factor in any effort to help Lebanon via Syria, but diplomats say Washington is looking at ways to urgently deal with those hurdles. (Read more)

The Palestinian Authority and several Palestinian factions on Wednesday denounced Israel's transfer and dispersal of prisoners after the Gilboa Prison escape and praised the escapees.
The Palestinian Authority and several Palestinian factions on Wednesday warned Israel against punishing Palestinian security prisoners in the aftermath of the escape of six inmates from Gilboa Prison.
They also warned Israel against harming the fugitives or their family members.
Shortly after the jailbreak, the Israel Prison Service began transferring hundreds of inmates to other prisons. (Read more)

3. Hundreds riot in West Bank, East Jerusalem after jailbreak; IDF extends closure - Times of Israel
Palestinians held large-scale demonstrations across the West Bank and Jerusalem Wednesday night, some of them violent, in solidarity with the six security prisoners who broke out of Israel’s Gilboa Prison earlier this week. Five of the fugitives are members of the Islamic Jihad terror group; the sixth is a notorious Fatah terror chief.
A total of some 400 Palestinians confronted IDF troops at eight West Bank flashpoints, burning tires and throwing rocks.
In at least one case, rioters near the Judea and Samaria Square in the Ramallah district of the West Bank were reported to use live fire against Israeli soldiers, but missed them. (A similar incident occurred at the same place amid a violent demonstration in May, during which two Israeli soldiers were wounded.) A second incident of gunfire toward Israeli troops occurred outside Jenin, Channel 12 reported.
Unrest was reported near Jerusalem’s Damascus Gate, the East Jerusalem Issawiya neighborhood, in Hebron, Hawara, Azzoun, near Rachel’s Tomb in Bethlehem, and in other locations in the West Bank.

4. Taliban say willing to establish relations with all nations except Israel - Times of Israel
The Taliban are willing to establish ties with all countries except for Israel, a spokesman said Tuesday as the extremist group announced its new government after taking control of Afghanistan.
Spokesman Suhail Shaheen told Russia’s Sputnik news that The Taliban were willing to work with the US after they swiftly toppled the 20-year-old Western-backed government last month just as President Joe Biden was completing a pullout to end America’s longest war.
“Yes, of course, in a new chapter if America wants to have a relation with us, which could be in the interest of both countries and both peoples, and if they want to participate in the reconstruction of Afghanistan, they are welcome”, Shaheen said.
However, there was no chance for ties with Israel.
“Of course, we won’t have any relation with Israel. We want to have relations with other countries, Israel is not among these countries,” Shaheen said. Read more

The figure only looked at one day’s worth of tests and the rate is thought to have been driven up by a testing push ahead of school reopenings.
However, the country has consistently reported some of the highest infection rates in the world since mid-August, during an unprecedented third wave, despite being one of the most vaccinated nations (currently, 63 percent of the population is fully vaccinated).

1. Homeland Security and FBI warn that terrorists could exploit Sept. 11th anniversary - ABC News; New York City
Saturday will mark 20 years since the coordinated attacks on Sept. 11 that took almost 3,000 lives and dramatically changed this country forever.
Now, the Department of Homeland Security is warning that terrorists could exploit the anniversary.
Late last week, the Department of Homeland Security and the FBI warned that foreign terrorist organizations could exploit the anniversary.
The agencies said in a bulletin sent to law enforcement leaders, obtained by ABC News, that they are not currently aware of any specific and credible threat related to the date. (Read more)

President Biden continued his bizarre habit of implying his handlers call the shots from behind the scenes on Wednesday when he concluded remarks in honor of labor unions by saying what he was "supposed" to do.
"I‘m supposed to stop and walk out of the room," Biden said after finishing prepared comments in the East Room of the White House.
Biden defied his handlers and didn’t immediately exit the room. However, the moment quickly reminded viewers that Biden has often suggested other people set the rules and dictate what he is allowed to do. (Read more)

Appearing on Hannity Wednesday night, Senator Rand Paul responded to the emergence of yet more proof that Anthony Fauci lied to Congress regarding the funding of coronavirus gain of function research, reminding viewers that the offence is a felony punishable by five years jail time.
“I find that hard to believe that we still would have someone with such poor judgment, who believes that even a pandemic would be worth it, that this person is in charge of the research for our government, I find that astounding,” Paul declared.

4. United Airlines Staff With Vaccine Exemptions Told They’ll Be Placed on Unpaid Leave - The Epoch Times
United Airlines employees who are granted a medical or religious exemption have been informed that they’ll be automatically placed on unpaid leave, a policy that one expert described as the harshest in America.
In memorandums to workers who have applied for an exemption to United’s COVID-19 vaccination mandate, workers were told that they must become fully vaccinated against the virus that causes COVID-19 within five weeks if their submission is denied or they will “be separated from the company.”Employees whose accommodation requests are granted will be placed on leave for an undetermined amount of time, the memos, obtained by The Epoch Times, added. 5. Oregon Firefighters, Police Officers Sue Gov. Brown Over Covid Vaccine Mandate – Pandemic.news
A coalition of government employees, including police officers and firefighters, has filed a lawsuit against Oregon Gov. Kate Brown in response to her unconstitutional mask and “vaccine” mandates for the Wuhan coronavirus (Covid-19).
The Oregon Fraternal Order of Police and the Kingsley Firefighters Association argue that Brown’s executive order requiring state employees to roll up their sleeves for Donald “father of the vaccine” Trump’s “Operation Warp Speed” injections violates a number of laws and needs to be blocked.
“Plaintiffs seek an order declaring EO No. 21-29 is unenforceable because it conflicts with Oregon statutes, would result in a common law wrongful discharge of the Plaintiffs, conflicts with the Oregon Constitution’s guarantee of free expression, and conflicts with the United States Constitution guarantee of equal protection, free exercise, and due process,” the complaint states. 6. Portland State University Professor Resigns, Says School Is a ‘Social Justice Factory’ - The Epoch Times
Portland State University professor Peter Boghossian said he’s resigned from his position in an open letter and accused the college administration of creating an environment that imperils dissent. “I never once believed—nor do I now—that the purpose of instruction was to lead my students to a particular conclusion,” Boghossian, a philosophy professor, wrote in the letter. “Rather, I sought to create the conditions for rigorous thought; to help them gain the tools to hunt and furrow for their own conclusions. This is why I became a teacher and why I love teaching.”
But over time, he argued, Portland State University—a publicly-funded college—made “intellectual exploration impossible” and has transformed itself into a “social justice factory” with a primary focus on race, victimhood, and gender.
“Students at Portland State are not being taught to think. Rather, they are being trained to mimic the moral certainty of ideologues,” said the letter, which was published on Bari Weiss’s Substack page. Weiss herself previously worked for the New York Times until 2020 when she resigned, accusing her Times colleagues of bullying, and arguing that the paper capitulated to Twitter-based pressure campaigns. 7. Why Are Food Prices Going Up So Rapidly? – The Economic Collapse Blog
For a long time I have been warning that global food prices would rise dramatically, and that is precisely what we have witnessed over the past 12 months. Unfortunately, global wages are not rising nearly as quickly as global food prices are, and so this has pushed millions and millions more people into poverty and hunger. Here in the United States, nobody is currently in danger of starving to death, but many Americans have been getting a severe case of sticker shock when they go to the grocery store. Not since the Jimmy Carter era of the 1970s have we seen prices escalate like this, and people are starting to get angry.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, global food supplies have been getting tighter and tighter. When I first started writing about this, certain individuals derisively dismissed what I had to say, but now the truth is becoming apparent to everyone.
Very tight supplies and growing demand have pushed global food prices 32.9 percent higher over the past year…Central banks and mainstream media continue to peddle the notion that soaring food inflation is temporary and the average Joe and Jane should not worry about it. But in a new report via the Rome-based Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), global food prices are on the rise, once again, and back to near-decade highs.
FAO’s food price index, which follows international prices of globally traded food commodities, averaged 127.4 points in August, up 3.9 points (3.1%) from July and 31.5 points (32.9%) from the same period last year.
Unfortunately, experts are telling us that food prices are going to continue to climb. (Read more)

8. Supply chain disruptions are getting worse as engineered shortages are designed to collapse economies – Newstarget
Global supply lines continue to come under duress as lingering effects of the COVID-19 pandemic remain and as new shutdowns occur thanks to the spread of the delta variant.
“The vast network of ports, container vessels and trucking companies that moves goods around the world is badly tangled, and the cost of shipping is skyrocketing. That’s troubling news for retailers and holiday shoppers,” CNN reported late last week.
“More than 18 months into the pandemic, the disruption to global supply chains is getting worse, spurring shortages of consumer products and making it more expensive for companies to ship goods where they’re needed,” the network added.
In addition to the cornucopia of issues that are preventing the global supply chain, which was established over decades, from recovering from the pandemic, another fact is emerging: Consumers everywhere are going to be paying higher prices for just about everything, and for Americans, that’s bad because inflationary pressures were already high due to the rampant, irresponsible spending by a Democrat-controlled Congress and a mind-addled President Joe Biden. 9. Red states eye Texas abortion law as new model – The Hill
Republican state legislators who oppose abortion rights are eyeing a just-implemented measure in Texas as a model for opening a new front in the war over reproductive choice.
The measure that took effect last week bans virtually all abortions after a fetal heartbeat is detected, about six weeks into a pregnancy, after the U.S. Supreme Court declined to block the law in a 5-4 decision. The law does not make exceptions for pregnancies that result from rape or incest.
Most controversially, it allows almost anyone in Texas from filing a civil lawsuit against abortion providers and those who aid a woman seeking an abortion after the six-week mark. The person bringing suit would not have to be connected in any way to have legal standing to sue, and plaintiffs could be awarded at least $10,000 plus attorney’s fees if they win. (Read more)

The Iron Fist Of COVID 19

This Daily Jot is written before the expected Biden announcement of new COVID 19 restrictions for the unvaccinated. This unprecedented move, no matter how little or far reaching. is a bad precedent for American health and freedom. First and foremost, let us take inventory of what we know: 1) The COVID 19 “vaccine,” in retrospect, is a stopgap measure that appears to prevent death, but does not prevent the spread of COVID 19 and long-term side effects are unknown; 2) the vaccinated and unvaccinated are spreading the disease; and 3) the politicization of the disease has cost lives and will continue to cost lives irrespective of what heavy-fisted move Biden takes against the unvaccinated. Time to face facts.
This COVID 19 problem reaches far, far beyond the disease itself. It has become so politicized that no one knows what to believe except what they want to believe. The “left” condemns, ridicules, hates the unvaccinated to the point of wanting to deny them public services, food, medical treatment and freedom. The “right” focuses on every theory about the disease development, the vaccine ingredients, the studies and counter-studies that support one theory or another. MEANWHILE, THE DISEASE PROGRESSES AND NEITHER SIDE CAN SET DOWN THEIR RHETORIC LONG ENOUGH TO ASSESS THE SITUATION AND SOLVE THE PROBLEM. Australia blows past “locked down” and threatens to “LOCK OUT” the unvaccinated from society

Premier Dan Andrews of Victoria, Australia, has announced that Wuhan coronavirus (Covid-19) lockdowns are no longer enough to stop the spread of the “delta variant.” Now, “unvaccinated” people will have to be locked out of society.
In an announcement, Andrews, who a few weeks back lied about there being Chinese Germs in the Australian sewer system, suggested that people who refuse the jabs be branded as second-class citizens to help “flatten the curve.”
“To protect the health system, we’ve got everybody locked down,” Andrews said.
“We’re going to move to a situation where, to protect the health system we’re going to lock out people who are not vaccinated and can be. If you’re making the choice not to get vaccinated, then you’re making the wrong choice. You’re making the wrong choice.”
Andrews went on to call the unvaccinated a “pandemic” in and of themselves by their very existence, declaring that it will not be safe to reopen society as long as people who did not take the injections are allowed to roam free throughout the country. (Pandemic News) Read more. |

House Republicans Issue Urgent Warning About 'Most-Wanted' Terrorist Who Now Controls Fate of Americans Stuck in Afghanistan

Republicans on the House Homeland Security Committee expressed concern over the safety of Americans in Afghanistan following the announcement of terrorist leader Sirajuddin Haqqani as interior minister. New York Rep. John Katko and Texas Rep. August Pfluger wrote a letter to Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas to note their concerns.
“As you are aware, the ongoing crisis in Afghanistan continues to pose increased terrorism risk to Americans both at home and abroad,” the letter, first obtained by Fox News on Wednesday, said.
“With American citizens and our Afghan allies awaiting permission from the Taliban to leave the country on chartered flights – a previously unthinkable scenario that is wholly unacceptable to the American people – we are urgently concerned about the Taliban’s naming of one of the FBI’s most-wanted terrorist operatives, Sirajuddin Haqqani, head of a terrorist group known as the Haqqani network, as the country’s acting interior minister.”
The letter specifically addressed the concern for Americans remaining in Afghanistan under the leadership of Haqqani in the new Taliban government.
“We are concerned that this newfound power in the hands of the Haqqani Network may further exacerbate circumstances leading to Afghanistan becoming a terrorist safe haven, accelerating plotting against the United States emanating from Afghanistan,” the congressmen wrote.
“The Haqqanis are considered the most lethal and sophisticated insurgent group targeting U.S., Coalition, and Afghan forces in Afghanistan,” according to a report from the director of national intelligence. “They typically conduct coordinated small-arms assaults coupled with rocket attacks, IEDs, suicide attacks and attacks using bomb-laden vehicles.” (Daily Advent) Read more

Lord God, this war on terror has now been suddenly elevated to a whole new and a very dangerous level. DOJ Sues Texas Over New Anti-Abortion Law
|
|
|
|
The U.S. Department of Justice on Thursday filed a lawsuit against the state of Texas over its recently enacted law that bans most abortions.
Government lawyers in the 27-page suit, obtained by The Epoch Times, assert the law runs counter to previous Supreme Court rulings, including Roe v. Wade, which found that access to abortion is a constitutional right.
The law in question, Senate Bill 8, requires doctors to test for a fetal heartbeat before an abortion is performed. If a heartbeat is detected, doctors cannot carry out abortions unless they find a medical emergency exists that threatens the pregnant mother’s life.
If they do, they can be sued by private citizens, as can anybody accused of aiding and abetting an illegal abortion.
State officials, meanwhile, cannot enforce the law.
“The act is clearly unconstitutional under longstanding Supreme Court precedent,” Attorney General Merrick Garland said during a news conference in Washington announcing the suit. “Those precedents hold in the words of Planned Parenthood v. Casey, ‘Regardless of whether exceptions are made for particular circumstances, a State may not prohibit any woman from making the ultimate decision to terminate her pregnancy before viability.'”
Another concern is that the law conflicts with federal statutes relating to providing abortion services, exposing federal employees to lawsuits, Garland added. He cited as examples work done by the Department of Labor with its Job Corps program and the Department of Defense’s TRICARE health program.
In an emailed statement to The Epoch Times, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s press secretary Renae Eze said that “The most precious freedom is life itself.”
“Texas passed a law that ensures that the life of every child with a heartbeat will be spared from the ravages of abortion. Unfortunately, President Biden and his administration are more interested in changing the national narrative from their disastrous Afghanistan evacuation and reckless open border policies instead of protecting the innocent unborn. We are confident that the courts will uphold and protect that right to life,” she added. (Read more)

Rise in 'floodwater mosquitoes' expected
in wake of historic Ida deluge

As millions of people try to recover after Tropical Rainstorm Ida tore through the Northeast last week causing historic flooding, experts have warned about the rise of "floodwater mosquitoes."
Most mosquitoes in urban areas, like the common house mosquito, are from a species that breeds in standing water that collects in puddles, buckets, birdbaths, tarps and neglected or abandoned swimming pools. Floodwater mosquitoes, such as the Inland Floodwater Mosquito, Aedes vexans, lay eggs in dry locations where there is a high probability of flooding.
And there was extreme flooding last week across a wide portion of the mid-Atlantic and Northeast, including in and around the New York City and Philadelphia metro areas after Ida tore through.
“It’s important to understand that different mosquito species have different life cycles," Dr. Jim Fredericks, chief entomologist and vice president of technical and regulatory affairs with The National Pest Management Association (NPMA), said. "Also, different mosquito species have different capacity for transmitting disease.” Read More

Seattle police officer shares benefits, challenges of bi-vocational ministry

Seattle Police Officer Noah Winningham served on the frontlines amid the violent riots that engulfed the city last year. During his breaks, he prepared the sermon he would preach on Sunday as the lead pastor of Sufficient Grace Church — a sermon on oppressed people meeting Jesus.
“As both a pastor and a police officer, I was able to preach that sermon the following Sunday with a unique context and voice that no other pastor can give,” Winningham told The Christian Post.
“I was able to speak about the sin of when oppressors oppress, and then also about the sin of the violent reactions and the rioting and looting. When people heard it, the weight of my words carried something drastically different because I had stood in the middle of what had happened.”
Though he believes he’s exactly where God calls him to be, the father-of-four never set out to be a bi-vocational pastor, especially in Seattle.
