HHS Secretary Becerra: 'Absolutely the government's business' to know which Americans haven't been vaccinated
|
|
Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra said Thursday it was "absolutely the government's business" to know which Americans haven't been vaccinated yet against the coronavirus.
Responding to GOP criticisms of the Biden administration's planned "door-to-door" campaign to encourage unvaccinated Americans to inoculate themselves, Becerra told CNN the government has had to "spend trillions of dollars to try to keep Americans alive during this pandemic."
"So it is absolutely the government's business, it is taxpayers' business, if we have to continue to spend money to try to keep people from contracting COVID and helping re-open the economy," he said.
Becerra said people didn't have to answer the door but he hoped they would so officials could dispel rumors about the vaccine, which has proven to be highly effective in driving down cases, hospitalizations and deaths. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, nearly 56 percent of the adult population has been "fully vaccinated" and 67 percent has gotten at least one dose of a coronavirus vaccine. Our government has NO BUSINESS of going "door-to-door" to learn who has, and who has not, taken the jab. This evil plan is a violation of our right to live as free citizens -- free to choose our own medical decisions without the interference of the federal government.
Lord God, this intrusion into our civil rights is also another sign of Your soon coming. We may all be ready to meet You at the gates of heaven when You do come for Your Bride, in repentance and in salvation we pray, amen and amen!

1. Bennett Meets Secretly with Jordan’s King, Lapid Meets with Safadie on Water, Trade - Jewish Press
Israel and Jordan agreed to a deal on Thursday for Jordan to buy 50 million more cubic meters of water from Israel and increase its exports to Judea and Samaria, apparently just days after Prime Minister Naftali Bennett met secretly with King Abdullah II at his palace in Amman.
Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi met Thursday with Israeli Foreign Minister Yair. The meeting took place on the Jordanian side of the King Hussein Bridge that connects Israel with Jordan.
In addition to the agreements on water and trade, Jordan’s foreign minister also inserted a note of negativity into the meeting, calling for a two-state solution to the conflict between Israel and the Palestinian Authority, and for Israel to stop what he called “illegal” acts that undermine it. 2. Bill submitted to strip terrorists of citizenship - Israel National News
This coming Sunday, a bill will be submitted to the Ministerial Committee for Legislation to deny citizenship and residency to Israeli terrorists who received financial assistance from the Palestinian Authority while in prison.
The the law was proposed by Adv. Morris Hirsch, who served as the Chief Military Prosecutor in Judea and Samaria and serves, among other things, as legal advisor to the Choosing Life Forum.
The bill was promoted by the Choosing Life forum of bereaved families and was submitted by MKs Avi Dichter and Orit Strock, signed by 44 MKs from across the political spectrum, including from the Yesh Atid, Labor, Yamina, and New Hope parties. (Read more)

3. Supreme Court upholds nation-state law - World Israel News
Israel’s Supreme Court rejected 15 petitions aimed at repealing the nation-state law on Thursday afternoon, effectively upholding the law.
The petitions were aimed at preventing the law, which officially declares Israel as the nation state of the Jewish People, from being incorporated into the future official Constitution of Israel, should such a document be created.
The Court ruled 9-1 that it did not have the authority to intervene or comment on the content of the law because it was passed by the Knesset as a quasi-constitutional Basic Law. (Read more)

4. Haifa courts rule children can get COVID vaccine even if one parent objects - Times of Israel
Israeli courts have ruled that minor children cannot be stopped from getting vaccinated against COVID-19 even if one of their parents objects.
Israel approved vaccinations for children as young as 12 last month, and weeks later launched a campaign to distribute doses to as many adolescents as possible, in response to an upsurge in COVID-19 cases.
Two recent cases in which one parent supported their offspring getting the shot and the other opposed have reached courts in recent weeks, yielding similar rulings. (Read more)

5. ‘Magnificent’ 2,000-Year-Old Public Building Unearthed Near Western Wall - Algemeiner
i24 News – Archeologists from the Israel Antiquities Authority (IAA) unveiled Thursday, impressive underground constructions dating from the end of the Second Temple period (beginning 1st century CE), and located in the Old City of Jerusalem
With a luxurious lobby, parts of which the IAA has already revealed, the edifice includes a sophisticated fountain and was likely used for banquets and other gatherings of the local elite or to receive foreign dignitaries within walking distance of the Temple.
“It is a truly magnificent building, one of the most splendid public buildings we know of dating from the Second Temple period,” said Shlomit Weksler-Bdolah, an archeologist at the IAA.
The Second Jewish Temple was built in the 6th century BCE, after the Babylonians destroyed the first one in 586 BCE. The original iteration was a modest replica of King Solomon’s magnificent building, although King Herod undertook a massive construction project — which can still be seen today in the 144,000 sq. m. Temple Mount platform. The Romans destroyed the temple that stood at its heart in 70 CE. (Read more)

1. Google Sued by 36 States, DC over Alleged Anti-trust Allegations – The Epoch Times
Google on Wednesday was hit by a lawsuit from a group of state attorneys over alleged violation of antitrust laws by its Android app store.
Attorneys general for 36 states and the District of Columbia sued the Big Tech company in a 144-page complaint filed in a Northern California federal court. The group alleges that Google’s Play store for Android apps violates antitrust laws.
The complaint centers on the control Google is able to exert on its Play store, allowing it to collect commissions of up to 30 percent on digital transactions within apps installed on Android-powered smartphones. Those devices represent more than 80 percent of the worldwide smartphone market.
Led by Utah, North Carolina, Tennessee, New York, Arizona, Colorado, Iowa, and Nebraska, it marks the fourth major antitrust lawsuit filed by U.S. government agencies against the company since October 2020. (Read more)

2. PM Bennett Reminds Biden: America Founded on the Principles of the Bible – Israel365 News
Newly appointed Prime Minister Naftali Bennett addressed the 4th of July gathering at the US Embassy in Jerusalem marking the 245th anniversary of the USA declaring its independence, noting that the US was founded on Biblical principles, binding it to Israel as an ally in prophecy.
Bennett referred to the period of his childhood spent in the US, describing the special edition coins minted to commemorate the bicentennial in 1976. He also reminisced about reciting the Pledge of Allegiance in school. Bennett described how his parents were both born in San Francisco.
In point of fact, though he was born in Haifa, Bennett, like Netanyahu, spent significant periods of time growing up in the US. His parents, secular but ardent Zionists, moved to Israel in July 1967. Six years later, the family returned to San Francisco, though his father returned to fight in the 1973 war. Following the war, the family returned to Israel. When Bennett was four years old, the family moved to Montreal for two years as part of his father’s job. Though Naftali Bennett is Israel’s first religiously observant Prime Minister, neither of his parents was observant. (Read more)

3. Anti-Semitism Inside Black Lives Matter Exposed – Israel365 News
The Black Lives Matter organization is “shamefully and disgustingly anti-Semitic,” according to documentary filmmaker Ami Horowitz.
“Of all the shame on the mainstream media in reporting BLM and their involvement in the riots and so forth, the most shameful is the fact that they would never, ever report that anti-Semitism is in the bloodstream of BLM,” Mr Horowitz told Sky News Australia. “I’m speaking about the organisation, not necessarily the people who agree or follow BLM, but the organisation is shamefully and disgustingly anti-Semitic. “They literally targeted and burned down a Jewish neighbourhood. “I was at riots and I saw them attack synagogues, I filmed them attacking synagogues and scrawling their hate across the Jewish institutions. “I can’t stress this enough – it is part of BLM’s DNA.” (Read more)

4. Biden and Democrats Face Dilemma on Vaccine Mandates – The Hill
Democrats including President Biden are grappling with what to do about the slowing pace of COVID-19 vaccinations.The sharpest debate right now is centered on whether private businesses, federal workplaces and educational institutions should require proof of vaccination.
If the White House encouraged such requirements, it would likely nudge some Americans who have not yet gotten vaccinated to do so.But it would also open the president and his party up to accusations of overreach and nanny-statism on an issue that has become deeply partisan.
In a new poll released Wednesday from The Economist/YouGov, 77 percent of Democrats said they were fully vaccinated, and only 4 percent Democratic respondents said they would not get vaccinated at all. But 31 percent of Republicans said they would not get vaccinated and so, crucially, did 22 percent of independents. Those figures suggest there would be a political price to pay for a strong push toward vaccine requirements. (Read more)

5. Poll Reveals Most Americans Don’t Want Govt Action on the Delta Variant…They Prefer Freedom Over Medical Tyranny – Pandemic News
According to the results of a recent poll, the majority of Americans don’t want government action on the Delta variant of the coronavirus (COVID-19).
The poll, conducted by the Trafalgar group in partnership with the Convention of States Action, was released on June 28. It involved a representative sample of 1,101 likely general election voters. Respondents were asked about what they think the response should be as the Delta variant continues to spread across the country.
Health officials say that the Delta variant is “a highly infectious mutation” that could soon become the dominant strain in America. The majority of the poll’s respondents – 63.0 percent – said that “[g]overnment should take no action.” With the vaccines and treatments available, respondents also said that people “can make personal decisions on how to respond.” (Read more)

6. US Military Members Threaten to Quit if Pentagon Makes COVID-19 Mandatory in the Fall – Pandemic News
Current and former members of the U.S. military wondered when the vaccine Nazis in the Biden regime would get around to mandating shots for currently serving soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines, and it appears as though the timeline has been set: Later this fall, at least for the Army.
“The Army and other branches of the military are preparing to administer mandatory COVID-19 vaccines as early as Sept. 1. This order is pending full Food and Drug Administration approval of the COIVD-19 vaccines, now under emergency use approval,” noted a post at Hot Air on Friday.
According to a report in the Army Times, the directive came down from the Department of the Army HQ — which, of course, received its instructions from the Joint Chiefs of Staff, which got its instructions from the Biden regime. (Read more)

7. Pastor Who Resisted Church Lockdowns Threatened with Death, His Family Intimidated – The Epoch Times
Pastor Brian Gibson, who has been a target of cancel culture for resisting draconian lockdown measures as well as for exercising his First Amendment rights, received hundreds of death threats. He and his family have experienced various forms of harassment.
“Just for being a vocal proponent of the First Amendment, just for being someone that supported President Trump, and someone that spoke out actively, I received close to 1500 death threats. People broke into my house, kicked my gate down, hacked all of our accounts,” Gibson said on EpochTV’s “Crossroads” program.
“It’s amazing what they can do and how coordinated some of these intimidation rings can really be. I think I underestimated what that would really be til it happened to me.” (Read more)

8. Federal Judge Rejects Challenge to Georgia Voting Law – The Epoch Times
A federal judge in Georgia declined to block portions of the recently passed Georgia election law after an organization filed a legal challenge that sought to invalidate parts of the mandate.
The Coalition for Good Governance, a left-leaning group that describes itself as an election security group, opposed the Election Integrity Act of 2021’s provision that voters request absentee ballots at least 11 days ahead of Election Day. The suit also asked the court to intervene to rescind restrictions on election observers.
But U.S. District Judge J.P. Boulee, in ruling against the petition, said he wouldn’t “change the law in the ninth inning” in reference to ongoing runoff elections for seats in the Georgia state House. (Read more)

9. Biden Signals Openess to Extending Child Tax Credit Beyond 2025 – The Epoch Times
President Joe Biden on Wednesday reiterated his position that the child tax credit should be extended, but this time signaling openness to the possibility that he might support an extension beyond the additional four years that his American Families Plan calls for.
“Let’s extend the tax cut at least through 2025,” Biden said, speaking at McHenry County College in Crystal Lake, Illinois, near Chicago, in what may be seen as a shift toward the position held by congressional Democrats who have called for the child tax credit to be made permanent.
Biden’s American Families Plan calls for a four-year extension of the child tax credit, which offers $3,000 for each child aged 6 to 17 and $3,600 per child under 6 to eligible families. It will be paid out in two parts, with the first half disbursed in monthly installments of $250 or $300, depending on the age of the children, starting July 15 and running through December. The other half, $1,500 or $1,800 per child, again depending on age, is to be claimed on next year’s tax return as a lump sum. (Read more)

10. House Republicans Outline Their Anti-Trust Agenda for Big Tech Giants – The Epoch Times
Lead Republican on the House Judiciary Committee, Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), and his fellow GOP Representatives on Wednesday laid out their framework for reining in Big Tech companies’ control over the public discourse.
The document outlined steps to rein in Big Tech and end their practices that have resulted in the infringement on the free speech of Americans. The proposal comes a couple of weeks after the House Judiciary Committee voted to advance six bipartisan antitrust bills.
Chairman Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.) praised the passage of the bills. “By reining in anti-competitive abuses, our legislation ensures there is a space for opportunity and innovation to thrive online,” Nadler said. (Read more)

The Keys To Surviving These Perilous Times

Many people have written and asked how they are to survive if the times continue to worsen. Many look at the terrible division among families, friends, neighbors and wonder what is to become of us. Many see the arrogance and lack of response of those they elected to govern and wonder if there is any hope for the future. Many see what is in front of them and are matching it with what they know of Bible prophecy. They understand the signs of the times. Yet they are curious about their very own survival in these days which seem to have one bad thing after another occur. Those who once had control of their lives–good jobs, a retirement, a home, security for the future–but no longer do, are questioning what is next.
There are two things that I believe we can do: 1) continue to be salt and light to the world, and 2) seek the most intimate and personal relationship with Father God through Jesus Christ as you possibly can. In these two things, there is hope eternal. We cannot stop the march of prophecy, but we can determine our place in it–both as individuals, and collectively as a nation. As individuals we can do the work that God has instructed us to do until his return. And if we are doing that work diligently and with the passion of Christ–we will be making changes in our nation one heart at a time. All the while, we need to be in the word, in prayer, seeking the Lord continuously. Read More

Lavish Second Temple period building found
by Western Wall in Jerusalem

The structure, located adjacent to the Wall, was probably built around 20 or 30 CE, only a few decades before the Temple was destroyed by the Romans.
A grandiose building dating back to the Second Temple period has been unearthed adjacent to the Western Wall in Jerusalem, the Israel Antiquities Authority and the Western Wall Heritage Foundation announced on Thursday.
The structure contained two imposing rooms which might have been used to welcome important dignitaries visiting the city and the Temple. The two rooms were decorated with elaborated Corinthian capitols protruding from the walls and were connected by a sumptuous fountain.
“This is, without doubt, one of the most magnificent public buildings from the Second Temple period that has ever been uncovered outside the Temple Mount walls in Jerusalem,” said Dr. Shlomit Weksler-Bdolach, excavation director on behalf of the IAA. Read More

Good News: IRS Reverses Decision, Grants Tax-Exempt Status to Christian Nonprofit

|
The Internal Revenue Service has reversed its decision to deny a Texas-based Christian nonprofit group tax exempt status, according to the Washington Examiner.
The action came after numerous Republican lawmakers rebuked the agency for overt political bias last month after it had first denied the status to Christians Engaged.
"The IRS has granted tax exempt status to Christians Engaged, a nonprofit organization that educates and empowers Christians to pray for our nation and elected officials, vote, and be civically engaged," the conservative legal group First Liberty Institute announced in a statement.
"The reversal comes after a national backlash against the IRS's initial rejection of Christians Engaged's nonprofit status because, the IRS claimed, "[B]ible teachings are typically affiliated with the [Republican] party and candidates."
Lea Patterson, counsel for the First Liberty Institute, applauded the move.
"This is truly great news for our client, as well as religious organizations and churches across America. We are grateful the IRS changed course to bring its decision into line with the Constitution and its own regulations," she said. (Newsmax; Reported by Breaking Christian News) Read more here.

One group in Corpus Christi, Texas has now gathered in person or by phone several days a week, for eighteen months, using this and other repentance materials for their repentance prayers!! They will meet every expense. They would like the booklet to be printed in a local language so that they should be distributing it among the rural communities as they implement their projects. Our Mission Statement
Capitol Hill Prayer Partners (CHPP) is a ministry which is positioned on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., helping members of the Body of Christ to "pray for those in authority over us" in our federal government. Our primary purpose is to offer intercession on site for the members of Congress and their staffs each day that the Senate and the House of Representatives are in session; and our chief prayer focus is that "God's will be done in earth, as it is in heaven." [Matthew 6:10].
Because Jesus Christ has shed His blood for all, we, too, pray for ALL, in a nonpartisan manner. Also, because the scriptures indicate that "the effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" (James 4:17), we are confident that fervent prayer, offered in the halls of the highest chambers of government in our land, can avail much for America. Capitol Hill Prayer Partners welcomes those who feel called to join us, engaging in this strategic work of intercession for our nation.
