Trump to sue Facebook, Twitter, Google over alleged censorship, says they've 'ceased to be private'
|
|
Former President Donald Trump on Wednesday announced that he will lead a lawsuit over alleged censorship against Twitter, Facebook and Google – three tech companies that removed him from their platforms after the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol by a mob of his supporters.
The lawsuit will be a class-action, with Trump as the lead plaintiff, claiming that he's been censored by the companies. He spoke about the legal action from his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey.
"I stand before you this morning to announce a very important... development for our freedom and freedom of speech," Trump said. "In conjunction with the America First Policy Institute, I'm filing, as the lead class-action representative, a major class-action lawsuit against the big tech giants, including Facebook, Google and Twitter, as well as their CEOs."
"There is no better evidence that big tech is out of control than the fact that they banned the sitting president of the United States earlier this year," Trump added. "If they can do it to me they can do it to anyone."
Twitter, YouTube and Facebook each barred Trump over his false claims that the presidential election was stolen, alleging that he contributed to the violence at the Capitol on Jan. 6. YouTube is owned by Google. (Fox News) Read more.

- Lord God this country cannot remain free if we do not have the freedom of speech. We pray that these tech companies will be exposed, their connections would be exposed and that people would be free to speak the truth without fear of punishment. in Jesus name we pray, amen.
- “You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh ; rather, serve one another humbly in love.” (Galatians 5:13)

1. Report: Bennett considers update of Iran policy ahead of meeting with Biden - Israel National News
Prime Minister Naftali Bennett has ordered a review of Israel's policies on Iran ahead of his first meeting with US President Joe Biden later this month, Axios reported.
A senior Israeli official told journalist Barak Ravid: “There are several questions in the discussions — is the current treading water better or worse than a US return to the deal, if and how Israel can influence the Biden administration, and what the current situation means for developing an Israeli military option."
Bennett and Alternate Prime Minister Yair Lapid oppose the potential reentry of the US into the 2015 Iran nuclear deal which is currently being negotiated in Vienna.
Lapid has signaled a greater willingness to work with the US administration on Iran despite opposing a return to the nuclear deal than former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who refused to grant any legitimacy to the current negotiations and famously clashed with the Obama Administration over the original nuclear deal in 2015.
The details of the Biden-Bennett meeting are being worked out by Bennett’s foreign policy adviser Shimrit Meir and Biden’s top Middle East adviser Brett McGurk. (Read more)

2. Gantz: Mideast on Verge of Arms Race if Iran Continues Path Towards Nukes - Algemeiner
JNS.org – Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz warned on Monday that the Middle East is on the verge of a new arms race, which could begin if “Iran continues to advance towards nuclear weapons and nuclear breakout [status].”
Speaking during the Israel Defense Prize ceremony, Gantz added that “in the face of all of these threats, our eyes are open. Our defense systems, most of which were developed in Israel, are deployed, and intelligence is working overtime to create targets and identify intentions.”
Israel is pursuing a zero-tolerance approach to any harm to Israeli sovereignty, he stated.
“Not arson balloons, not rockets and no other means by Iran and its proxies [will be tolerated by Israel]. We will respond with force, in line with our needs and at a time that is right for us,” said the defense minister. (Read more)

3. Herzog pledges to ‘calm things’ as Israel’s 11th president - World Israel News
Isaac Herzog pledged to heal deep divisions in Israeli society Wednesday as he took the oath of office to become Israel’s 11th president.
With one hand on a Bible before the Knesset — Israel’s parliament — Herzog, 60, assumed the largely ceremonial position that is designed to serve as the country’s moral compass.
Herzog promised to be “the president of everyone,” adding that the “central expectation” of all Israelis “from me, from all of us, is to lower the tone, to lower the flames, to calm things down.”
“My mission, the mission of my term, is to do everything in order to rebuild hope,” he said in his inauguration speech. (Read more)

4. US Freezes Abraham Fund ‘Indefinitely’ While Israeli Govt Too Cheap to Buy a Bed for Consul-General to Dubai - Jewish Press
The Abraham Fund, created with great fanfare last year to help carry out the initiatives set forth in the Abraham Accords signed by Israel, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Sudan and Morocco, has been frozen indefinitely, according to US and Israeli sources quoted by the Globes business news site.
The Abraham Fund was set up after the Accords were signed in September 2020. The signatories to the Accords were to finance the Fund together with other nations that were expected to join as time went on.
By October 2020, the Abraham Foundation that had been created was already operational. Within the next three months, hundreds of funding requests for various projects were received and reviewed.
More than 10 projects in energy, food tech and fintech were approved.
The Abraham Fund approached large US financial institutions, asking them to participate in the effort to increase the capital of the fund.
“The Fund will realize the commitments in the Abraham agreements,” said a statement issued at the time. “The Fund will provide more than $3 billion to the private sector development investment market to promote economic cooperation and prosperity in the Middle East. . .The countries that are partners in setting up the Fund welcome other countries to further its objectives.”
The election of President Joe Biden and his new administration, however, brought all the Fund activity to a screeching halt.
. . . Not having the proper budget means not being able to do your job as a diplomat.
Of course, not having a real bed in which to sleep at night might also be cause for concern: Globes learned the official apartment of Israeli Consul General in Dubai, Ilan Shtulman, is also not yet properly furnished; as a result, Israel’s representative to the Dubai government is, so far, sleeping on a mattress on the floor.
If all of this is a harbinger of things to come, heaven help Israel’s diplomats. (Read more)

5. Israel invites Moroccan FM to first Israel visit - Jerusalem Post
Israel invited Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita for a first-ever visit on Wednesday, while a high-level US Congressional delegation was in Jerusalem.
Foreign Ministry Director-General Alon Ushpiz personally delivered the invitation when he met on Wednesday with Bourita during his trip to Morocco to advance bilateral ties.
The invitation was issued by Foreign Minister Yair Lapid. Should Bourita accept, it would mark the first arrival of a Moroccan foreign minister in Israel.
Jerusalem and Rabat had low level diplomatic ties from 1994 to 2000. They renewed them last year at a more advanced level under the rubric of the Abraham Accords brokered by former US president Donald Trump’s administration.

1. Preschool, Kindergarten Enrollment Drops 13 Percent Nationally - Epoch Times
Public school enrollment in 2020–2021 fell by 3 percent nationally compared to a year earlier, according to preliminary data from the U.S. Department of Education’s National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), with pre-K and kindergarten jointly seeing a sharp 13 percent drop.
The stark numbers represent the largest year-over-year decline in enrollment since the start of the century, with the drop concentrated among the youngest learners, the NCES figures show. Pre-K saw a 22 percent decrease, kindergarten enrollment fell by 9 percent, grades 1–8 experienced a 3-percent drop, and grades 9–12 saw enrollment rise by 0.4 percent. The figures are preliminary, with the final results expected to come next spring.
NCES Acting Commissioner Peggy Carr said in a statement cited by K–12 Dive that the figures are “preliminary but concerning,” noting that the enrollment drops were “widespread and affected almost every single state and every region of the country.” (Read more)

2. Iowa Can Block Planned Parenthood’s Sex Ed Programs in Public Schools, Court Rules - Christian Headlines
On Wednesday, Iowa’s Supreme Court said that the state can block Planned Parenthood from conducting its sex education programs in public schools.
According to the Associated Press, the decision reverses a judge’s 2020 ruling that found a 2019 law passed by a Republican-controlled Legislature banning Planned Parenthood-led sex education was unconstitutional. Planned Parenthood of the Heartland’s issued a complaint against the law, arguing that it violated the organization’s right to equal protection and “served no rational legitimate government interest,” the Associated Press reports.
On Wednesday, however, six justices, all appointed by Republican governors, found that the concerns of Iowa lawmakers could be reasonable since Planned Parenthood-led sex education could undermine the state’s goals of teaching abstinence and reducing teen pregnancy. (Read more)

3. Supreme Court rejects appeal from florist who wouldn't make arrangement for same-sex wedding - CNN
The US Supreme Court on Friday declined to take up an appeal from a Washington state florist who refused to make an arrangement for a same-sex couple out of religious concerns regarding same-sex marriage.
The Washington state Supreme Court in June had ruled against the florist, Barronelle Stutzman, who declined to make a floral arrangement in 2013 for long-time client Robert Ingersoll's same-sex wedding.
The court said Stutzman's refusal violated a state anti-discrimination law that bars discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation. It said the law was "neutral" and served the states' interest in eradicating discrimination in public accommodations.
In a statement Friday, Stuzman's lawyer Kristen Waggoner called the outcome of the case "tragic" and said "the critical work of protecting the First Amendment freedoms of all Americans must continue." (Read more)
- Heavenly Father, we are concerned by the growing hostility against believers like Barronelle. For the sake of Your gospel, we pray that our Supreme Court will decide to truly protect religious liberty for everyone, in all aspects of their life. Regardless, help us to be courageous and faithful to You in our workplaces, trusting that You will be glorified through our obedience. Thank You for the freedom we still have.

4. Pentagon: Leaders Will Look into Making COVID-19 Vaccine Mandatory if Approved by FDA - Brietbart
“Should the FDA approve it then I am certain Pentagon leadership will take a look at what our options are going forward, including the potential options of making it mandatory. But I’m not going to get too far ahead of process right now,” Pentagon Press Secretary John Kirby told reporters at a press conference on Tuesday.
He also revealed that there have already been preliminary discussions at senior levels within the Pentagon to think about next “logical steps” if and when the vaccines are approved by the FDA.
“We are a planning organization. I don’t think that should surprise anybody that we’re trying to think about what the implications would be and how we would react to that,” he said.
Kirby emphasized that for now, the vaccines are still under emergency use authorization, and thus, still voluntary. (Read more)
- Lord God, we pray that you would influence Pentagon leaders and officials against this plan as it tramples on every right of our men and women in military to choose what is best for them and their health. No one should have to be forced to do something against their will.

5. Marjorie Taylor Greene compares Biden door-to-door vaccination effort to Nazi 'brown shirts' - Just The News
GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene is comparing the Biden administration's door-to-door effort to get more people vaccinated for COVID-19 to the Nazi-era "brown shirts" and says federal government cannot force people to participate in a human experiment.
Taylor made the comparison after the Biden White House said Tuesday it would embark on a door-to-door effort to get Americans vaccinated – as the the new variant of the virus, known as delta spreads in the U.S., and President Biden works to reach his goal of 70% of adult Americans getting a least on vaccination shot by early July.
"Biden pushing a vaccine that is NOT FDA approved shows covid is a political tool used to control people," Greene wrote on Twitter. "People have a choice, they don’t need your medical brown shirts showing up at their door ordering vaccinations." (Read more)
- Lord God we see history repeating itself every day and we say we do not want this for our country, for our children and our children’s children. We ask that you continue to speak to Biden and his administration and we pray that they would adhere to your wisdom and turn from their wicked ways, in Jesus name, amen.
- “Who is wise and understanding among you? Let them show it by their good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom.” (James 3:13)

6. After NYC cut police funding, Cuomo declares emergency disaster over spike in violent crime - Just The News
New York Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo declared a “disaster emergency on gun violence” Tuesday amid a spike in violent crime in New York City.
If you can beat COVID, you can beat gun violence," Cuomo said Tuesday, addressing the spike in violent crime, according to The Epoch Times. "We’re in a new epidemic, and it’s gun violence, and it’s a matter of life and death also."
Cuomo described shootings as a "public health crisis," which he says the state will start to target gun violence and crimes the same model used to deal with COVID-19.
Law enforcement will target crime hotspots, curb the sale of illegal firearms, and other new initiatives. (Read more)
- Lord God, it is a tragedy to see such great states like New York fall and to watch leftist policies ruin the safety of its citizens. We just asked for complete restoration for New York and for this entire country and that new leaders would arise with policies that serve Americans for the good, in Jesus name.

7. Pain at the Pump: Gasoline Rises to 7 Year High, Up 40% Since January - Brietbart
Gas prices are up from $2.25 to $3.13, the motorist service club reported. Ac cording to data from the Federal Reserve, this is the highest price for gas since October 2012.
“Moreover, it is not stopping there. Motorists can expect gas prices to increase another 10–20 cents through the end of August, bringing the national average well over $3.25 this summer,” AAA reports.
“Robust gasoline demand and more expensive crude oil prices are pushing gas prices higher,” said Jeanette McGee, AAA spokesperson. “We had hoped that global crude production increases would bring some relief at the pump this month, but weekend OPEC negotiations fell through with no agreement reached. As a result, crude prices are set to surge to a seven year-high.”
The price of Brent Crude started the day up but by midday Wednesday it had fallen 1.3 percent. Despite the fall, it remains near the highest level since October of 2018.
- Lord God this should not be. We saw throughout the last four years how low gas prices could go and how we can dig for our own oil. There’s no reason to have to pay these high prices. Now that we know the truth and now that we know what we are capable of as a country we just pray Lord God that you would restore to us our oil, our jobs, and our wealth, in Jesus name, amen.

8. Biden tax hikes would put U.S. at disadvantage against other nations, think tank warns - Just The News
A new report from the Tax Foundation found that President Joe Biden’s proposed tax increases would put the U.S. at much higher rates than many of its economic competitors.
Biden has proposed several tax increases to fund his several trillion dollars in new spending, most of which has not yet passed through Congress. Those include taxing long-term capital gains as normal income for those making more than $1 million plus an increase in the top marginal tax rate from 37% to 39.6%.
The report compared the tax rates of the U.S. with the 37 other countries in the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OCED). The international cooperative group’s mission is to spur economic growth and trade, but the latest report finds the tax hikes may undermine those goals. (Read more)
- Lord God the American people did not vote for this! We see our freedoms slipping away from us every day. But we choose to pray against this and rise up and say no! We want your plan and your agenda for our country. Lord God we submit to you and we say your will be done for this country Lord, in Jesus name, amen.
- “Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” (Matt. 6:10)

9. Ohio Budget Includes Conscience Protections for Health Care Providers, Insurers - Christian Headlines
Last Wednesday, Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine (R) signed a state budget, which includes an exemption that allows medical professionals and insurers to refuse to carry out procedures that contradict their religious beliefs.
The budget, also known as Amended Substitute House Bill Number 110, was criticized by progressive groups who viewed the bill as discriminatory, The Christian Post reports.
According to page 1454 of the budget, "a medical practitioner, health care institution, or health care payer has the freedom to decline to perform, participate in, or pay for any health care service which violates the practitioner's, institution's, or payer's conscience as informed by the moral, ethical, or religious beliefs or principles held by the practitioner, institution, or payer."
"Exercise of the right of conscience is limited to conscience-based objections to a particular health care service," the section continues.
"Whenever a situation arises in which a requested course of treatment includes a particular health care service that conflicts with the moral, ethical, or religious beliefs or convictions of a medical practitioner, the medical practitioner shall be excused from participating." (Read more)

10. China picks up the launch pace with three space missions in four days - Space.com
China appears to be returning to its pre-pandemic pace of launching back-to-back space missions.
Various Chinese sources indicate the country finished three successful orbital launches in four days, with the latest of the group launching from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in southwest China on Tuesday (July 6).
China generally keeps a tight rein on space launch publicity, releasing news after the fact through its contractors and through state-supported media reports. The country's recent space activities — including a Mars rover landing and a huge, uncontrolled rocket stage fall — have caught worries from Congress and NASA alike, as this increased space presence is seen as a security risk. escapades in space. Amen.

11. Haiti in upheaval: President Moïse assassinated at home - AP
PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (AP) — A squad of gunmen assassinated Haitian President Jovenel Moïse and wounded his wife in an overnight raid on their home Wednesday, with police killing four suspects and arresting two others hours later amid growing chaos in a country already enduring gang violence and protests of his increasingly authoritarian rule. Three police officers held hostage by the suspected gunmen were freed late Wednesday, said Léon Charles, chief of Haiti’s National Police.
Interim Prime Minister Claude Joseph said the police and military were in control of security in Haiti, the poorest country in the Americas where a history of dictatorship and political upheaval have long stymied the consolidation of democratic rule. In an interview with The Associated Press, Joseph called for an international investigation into the assassination, said that elections scheduled for later this year should be held and pledged to work with Moïse’s allies and opponents alike. “We need every single one to move the country forward,” Joseph said. He alluded to enemies of the president, describing him as ’’a man of courage″ who had opposed ’’some oligarchs in the country, and we believe those things are not without consequences.″
Despite Joseph’s assurances that order would prevail, there was confusion about who should take control and widespread anxiety among Haitians. Authorities declared a “state of siege” in the country and closed the international airport. (Read more)
- Lord God, we ask for a supernatural blanket of calm and peace to descend upon the nation of Haiti this evening. We bind terror in the streets, and fear among the people. And Lord God, we know that Haiti is infamous for its history of the practice of voodoo and other forms of witchcraft among the people. We cancel any of those rituals now by the Blood of the Lamb, in Your name. We ask that another leader be established in this nation who is a man or a woman of integrity, and one who is mantled to lead Haiti into its new season of government. And finally, dear Lord, please send forth Your angels to protect Your people who live on this land. In Your name we offer these prayers, amen and amen.
- "And this is the confidence that we have before Him: If we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we already possess what we have asked of Him." (I John 5:14,15)

12. Rescuers end search for survivors at collapsed Florida condo; death toll at 54 - Times of Israel
SURFSIDE, Florida. (AP) — Eight more bodies were recovered Wednesday from the site of the collapsed Florida condo building, bringing the death toll to 54, Miami-Dade County’s mayor said announcing that the operation had shifted from rescue to recovery
“It is with deep profound sadness that this afternoon I’m able to share that we made the extremely difficult decision to transition from operation search-and-rescue to recovery,” Mayor Daniella Levine Cava said at a news conference, adding that that 33 of the dead have been identified and 86 people are still unaccounted for after the disaster.
“At this point, we have truly exhausted every option available to us in the search-and-rescue mission,” Levine Cava said.
The formal transition from rescue to recovery was to take place at midnight, with a moment of silence scheduled for shortly after 7 p.m., officials said. (Read more)
- Father God, we pray for Your garment of comfort to enfold each survivor as they now mourn the loss of their loved ones and their friends. May they each be drawn to seek You in their time of sorrow, finding grace to help in time of need; and coming to know You as their Savior and their Lord. Amen.

Stupidocrisy: The Ignorance Among Us
The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, July 7, 2021
There has been something I have been pondering for quite some time. I sense you are thinking about the same. The state of our country. The visceral political division, the fact that most news is editorial opinion based on lies and half truths, the fact that people who have been friends for years have ended their friendships over these differences. We all have a lot of concerns about America, many of them are put to rest at the sight a young soldier in uniform opening a door for a senior citizen, or young child helping someone across the street. These individual acts of kindness bolster my confidence that somewhere deep in the soul of America, the values that make us all Americans are still flickering.
But what concerns me are those who, for whatever reason, do not see that the sacrifice of those before us was made for the better gains we enjoy. I asked a group of children why we celebrate Independence Day. By and large their answers were “so we can see fireworks” or “so we can have hamburgers from the grill.” They did not even know what Independence Day meant. Their guesses were anywhere from “celebrating God’s freedom” to “my dad has a day off from work.” Some of these children openly admit they do not understand why they should stand and say the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag—seems like something silly to them. America’s Largest Teachers’ Union Votes to Help Members ‘Fight Back Against Anti-CRT Rhetoric’
|
|
|
The largest labor and teachers’ union has voted to spread and further the teaching of the quasi-Marxist critical race theory (CRT), which it describes as a “reasonable” and “appropriate” framework for students to understand and interpret America’s past and present. The National Education Association (NEA), which represents more than 3 million employees in public education, on June 30 kicked off its 100th Representative Assembly. During the four-day online convention, the union adopted a measure that would commit at least $127,600 to advance its pro-CRT agenda.
According to the plan, the NEA will share and publicize information about “what CRT is and what it is not,” dedicate a “team of staffers” to assist union members who “want to learn more and fight back against anti-CRT rhetoric,” and provide a study that critiques “power and oppression” in American society, including “white supremacy,” “cisheteropatriarchy,” and capitalism.
The union also declared that it opposes attempts to ban CRT and the New York Times’ highly controversial “1619 Project,” which recasts American history on the claim that the United States was founded, and remains today, a racist nation. In addition, the measure calls for an “accurate and honest” teaching of “unpleasant aspects of American history,” and affirms that CRT is an appropriate framework for educators to address those topics. “The Association will further convey that in teaching these topics, it is reasonable and appropriate for curriculum to be informed by academic frameworks for understanding and interpreting the impact of the past on current society, including critical race theory,” the measure reads on NEA’s website.
The vote comes after the NEA approved another measure, which seeks to “research the organizations attacking educators doing anti-racist work” and put together “a list of resources and recommendations for state affiliates, locals, and individual educators to utilize when they are attacked. The research, resources, and recommendations will be shared with members through NEA’s social media, an article in NEA Today, and a recorded virtual presentation/webinar,” it says. The item was approved with an initial annual budget of $56,500.
The reason behind the measure, according to the NEA’s website, it that the “attacks on anti-racist teachers are increasing, coordinated by well-funded organizations such as the Heritage Foundation,” and that the union needs to be “better prepared to respond to these attacks so that our members can continue this important work.” (Read more)

Lamborn Condemns Teaching of Critical Race Theory at United States Air Force Academy
|
|
|
Washington, D.C.- Critical race theory is a form of Marxist critical theory which views all human activity through the prism of race (rather than class), and teaches that race is the defining feature of our society. It holds that the United States is a nation founded on white supremacy, and divides everyone into “oppressor” or “oppressed” based on immutable characteristic such as race. Proponents of critical race theory believe that American institutions, including the Constitution and our legal system, are fundamentally racist and flawed. Congressman Lamborn has consistently fought against critical race theory. In March, he led a letter to Admiral Gilday opposing the inclusion of Ibram X. Kendi’s book, How to Be an Antiracist, on the Navy’s required reading list. In May, he led a letter to Acting Secretary Roth and General Raymond regarding their treatment of Space Force Lieutenant Colonel Lohmeier.
Congressman Lamborn issued the following statement in regards to the recent opinion piece by an Associate Professor at the U.S. Air Force Academy:
“Just two weeks ago, Secretary Austin testified before the House Armed Services Committee that critical race theory is not something being taught, pushed, or embraced in our military. I am deeply concerned that an associate professor at the United States Air Force Academy has enthusiastically endorsed teaching critical race theory to the future officer corps of our Space Force and Air Force. This is in direct violation of the clearly expressed intent of the Secretary of Defense. As a member of the United States Air Force Academy’s Board of Visitors, I oppose teaching our cadets that the country they serve is fundamentally racist. Critical race theory is an anti-American ideology rooted in Marxism and has no place in any of our service academies.”
|
|
- Father God, we praise You that Congressman Doug Lamborn has released this bold statement, confronting the infiltration of this Marxist doctrine in the United States Air Force Academy, or in any of our service academies.
We ask that Congress exercise the power of the purse string, and refuse to fund any program in any military academy that foments this dangerous and anti-American doctrine. When our men and women go out to battle, they must serve as ONE UNIT, and not one that is constantly looking over each others' shoulders to see which race stands beside them.
Help us, O Lord! Please rescue this mess. In Your name we pray, Holy One, amen and amen!
- "Oh let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end, but establish the just." (Psalm 7:9)

Nebraska Gov. Ricketts Declares July ‘Victims of Communism Remembrance Month’
|
|
|
Nebraska Gov. Pete Ricketts has designated July as the “Victims of Communism” month, highlighting the estimated 100 million people who died during religious or political purges, manmade famines, and crimes against humanity. Ricketts, in a press release and on Twitter, singled out the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), which recently marked its 100th anniversary, and the Soviet Union. “An estimated 100 million people have died from political purges, religious persecutions, mass starvations, and other crimes against humanity carried out by communist regimes such as the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) and the People’s Republic of China,” the Republican governor wrote.
In a proclamation, the governor noted that former CCP dictator Mao Zedong’s Great Leap Forward—a calamitous top-down effort that diverted Chinese farm workers into mass collectives—killed some 45 million people. That figure was revealed years ago by historian Frank Dikötter, who has systematically chronicled the CCP’s mass purges, failed policies like the Great Leap Forward, and the equally disastrous Cultural Revolution.
Dikötter, writing several years ago, provided brutal examples of how the CCP would enforce its collectivization policies. At one point during the famine, a man named Wang Ziyou was accused by the regime of digging up a potato, so CCP authorities cut off one of his ears, and “his legs were tied with iron wire, a ten kilogram stone was dropped on his back and then he was branded with a sizzling tool,” Dikötter noted.
Today, “millions suffer political and religious persecution under the CCP,” the governor’s July proclamation noted, citing the regime’s treatment of Uyghurs in Xinjiang, house Christians, and other groups. “Hundreds of millions of people continue to live under communist and socialist regimes that curtail freedoms and lack respect for human rights,” the proclamation added. - Lord God, just as Congressman Lamborn is standing up in vigorous opposition to the CRT agenda in the military academies, we thank You that Governor Ricketts is also alerting the citizens of the State of Nebraska to the dangers of Communism in his state.
We ask that there would now arise a literal groundswell of voices among all of our governing authorities -- members of Congress, the U.S. Senate, Governors, and Chairmen of local school boards -- to awaken our people to the fact that the "dragon" of Communism is now on our doorstop. Let all our people arise and cast down this evil, while there is still time to do so!
- "See, I will make you into a threshing sledge, new and sharp, with many teeth. You will thresh the mountains and crush them, and reduce the hills to chaff." (Isaiah 41:15)
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
- Father God, we ask, too, for the absolute protection of those in authority as they begin to rise up and warn our people of the danger at our door. We bind all backlash in the name of Jesus, and ask divine protection for each one, their family members, and the members of their staffs, in Your Name, amen.
- "“No weapon that is formed against you will prosper;
And every tongue that accuses you in judgment you will condemn.
This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord,
And their vindication is from Me,” declares the Lord."
(Isaiah 54:17)

Elsa spares 'fortunate' Floridians from worst-case scenario
|
|
Elsa was no fairytale.
The storm system that couldn't decide if it wanted to be a hurricane or a tropical storm finally made landfall Wednesday morning, crashing into Taylor County, Florida, around 11 a.m. EDT. It was officially a tropical storm as it moved onshore.
Like its cinematic counterpart, the storm's plot featured multiple climactic moments of action-packed strengthening but, ultimately, ended in many areas along Florida's Gulf coast being largely spared from destruction.
"Fortunate" was the term used by Tampa Bay Mayor Jane Castor on Twitter Wednesday morning as the city awoke to minimal damage and flooding.
"Fortunately, for us, we didn't see the storm surge that was predicted – 2 to 5 feet," she said in a posted video. "So that is a great thing for Tampa Bay, we haven't had the extensive flooding. We have some down trees and power out in certain places."
But farther north, in Cedar Key, there was nothing fantastical about Elsa's impacts. Its forceful 65-mph maximum sustained winds at landfall hurled debris and triggered flooding throughout the Florida Gulf Coast. Read More

Trump's New Social Media Platform 'GETTR' Launches July 4th, 'Independent from Cancel Culture'
|
|
(Former) President Donald Trump's team has launched a new social media platform called "GETTR," and they call it an alternative to Big Tech sites. The platform’s mission statement says it is fighting cancel culture, promoting common sense, defending free speech, challenging social media monopolies, and creating a true marketplace of ideas.
Former Trump senior adviser Jason Miller, who is leading the platform, told Fox News that the name GETTR was inspired by the idea of "Getting Together." "Let's get together, we're talking about a sense of community," Miller told Fox during a recent interview. "We think it will ultimately be a global platform." He added, "We want people from all political stripes to join the platform."
The app officially launched on July 4th, a move Miller says aligns with the true meaning of freedom. "This ties in with Independence Day," Miller said. "Independent from social media monopolies, independent from cancel culture; embracing free speech - our launch on Sunday is very much intentional. "We believe there needs to be a new social media platform that really defends free speech, and one that doesn't de-platform for political beliefs," he continued. "This is a challenge to social media monopolies."
GETTR users can post messages with up to 777 characters, host videos up to three minutes in length, and edit the videos within the app.
And Miller told Fox that users can "import their existing tweets into this new platform" after signing up. (Read more)

For well over a decade this ministry has sought "leaders" to call for a national day of repentance. But in the meantime you and I--- part of "My people" --- can take part in God's Solution for the disasters He is allowing in every nation today.
As was the case with Gideon, He uses the least obvious person, the seemingly weakest, to advance His Kingdom.
That's the purpose of this ending drought initiative. It provides His Way by which you and I can participate in the power of His Gift of Repentance. As a Way of cleansing as His Bride, to get ready for His soon return as our Bridegroom, projects such as this give you an actual experience of the Joy of Repentance. Participating with others in a time of group repentance, you will also receive His fruit that will abound to your account (Philippians 4:17). Read More

O Lord, have mercy on me.

About Capitol Hill Prayer Partners
|
|
|
Our Mission Statement
Capitol Hill Prayer Partners (CHPP) is a ministry which is positioned on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., helping members of the Body of Christ to "pray for those in authority over us" in our federal government. Our primary purpose is to offer intercession on site for the members of Congress and their staffs each day that the Senate and the House of Representatives are in session; and our chief prayer focus is that "God's will be done in earth, as it is in heaven." [Matthew 6:10].
Because Jesus Christ has shed His blood for all, we, too, pray for ALL, in a nonpartisan manner. Also, because the scriptures indicate that "the effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" (James 4:17), we are confident that fervent prayer, offered in the halls of the highest chambers of government in our land, can avail much for America. Capitol Hill Prayer Partners welcomes those who feel called to join us, engaging in this strategic work of intercession for our nation: "For there is no power but of God; the powers that be are ordained of God." [Romans 13:1]
