An Excellent Week for President Trump
Monday Starts an Excellent Week for President Trump
Tonight, President Trump delivers his third State of the Union Address.
"He'll quite rightly be able to declare the nation is strong - with solid economic growth and jobs for all who want them and a Dow more than 50 percent higher than when he won the White House. Not to mention a new North American trade agreement just as candidate Trump promised, China desperate to end the trade war and America's NATO allies paying much more of their fair share for collective defense."

FACE IT: THE ECONOMY UNDER TRUMP IS GREAT | OPINION - Newsweek
"Here's the reality. By most traditional measures, the economy is stronger than it's been in over three decades, especially where job creation is concerned . . . More people are working, and because real wages are rising, they have the 'hope,' finally, that Obama promised but found so hard to deliver," Pete Roff writes for Newsweek. (Read more)
Marsha Blackburn: I won't be a 'useful contrarian' for Democrats in Trump impeachment trial - USA Today
"In his opening statement at trial, [Rep. Adam] Schiff revealed his real reason for needing an impeachment do-over. He accused the president in advance of cheating in the 2020 election and suggested that Americans would be manipulated and make the wrong decision at the ballot box. So much for the will of the people," Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) writes in USA Today. (Read more)
President Donald Trump will have a guest from Cincinnati at Tuesday's State of the Union address. See who it will be - Cincinnati Enquirer
Army veteran Tony Rankins will be a guest of President Trump and the First Lady at tomorrow night's State of the Union. Rankins is a recovering drug user who now works in construction in a Cincinnati "opportunity zone," which are low-income areas that receive tax advantages to spur investment. Opportunity zones were created by President Trump's 2017 tax cuts law, Jason Williams reports for the Cincinnati Enquirer. (Read more)

1. Report: Gaza Terror Groups Fear Israeli Retaliation After Rocket Attacks, Islamic Jihad Leaders Go Into Hiding - Algemeiner
Terrorist organizations in the Gaza Strip are reportedly on high alert as tensions rise in Israel's south after a series of rocket attacks over the weekend, with Palestinian Islamic Jihad leaders going into hiding for fear of targeted assassinations.
Palestinian sources told leading Israeli daily Yediot Ahronot that the terror group's leaders are changing their daily routines and moving clandestinely from place to place, fearing that the IDF will locate and kill them in retaliation for the spate of rocket attacks.
Islamic Jihad, which is primarily sponsored by Iran, is particularly fearful because the group has been responsible for the majority of the rocket attacks that have taken place recently, and believes the head of their "Gaza Brigade," Khalil al-Bahtini, is the most likely target for an assassination attempt.
Bahtini belongs to a family affiliated with Islamic Jihad and has survived several Israeli assassination attempts in the past. Palestinian sources told Yediot that he has been groomed for a top post by the terror group from an early age, and was trained extensively by Iran.

2. IDF Beefs Up Air Defenses in South, Concerned Iran Is Pressuring Islamic Jihad to Escalate Rocket Attacks - Algemeiner
The IDF is deploying additional Iron Dome aerial defense batteries in southern Israel out of concern that Gaza-based Islamic Jihad, under the influence of Iran, could attempt to escalate its rocket attacks against the Jewish state.
Recent days have seen sporadic rocket, for which Islamic Jihad has been responsible. Due to the heightened tensions, Islamic Jihad leaders have gone underground, out of fear they could be targeted for assassination by Israel.
The Israeli news site Walla reported on Monday that Hamas, which rules Gaza, is afraid of being seen as a collaborator with Israel as a result of ongoing back-channel negotiations for a long-term truce. It also does not wish to appear less radical than the Palestinian Authority, which is currently denouncing US President Donald Trump's "Deal of the Century" proposal in defiant terms.
Consequently, Hamas is permitting Islamic Jihad to fire rockets at Israel, and the IDF believes Islamic Jihad might exploit this opportunity to intensify its activities.

3. Netanyahu meets leader of Sudan; former foes to move toward normalization - Times Of Israel
ENTEBBE, Uganda - Dramatically improving ties with a former bitter foe, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday met with the transitional leader of Sudan, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, during a whirlwind visit to Uganda.
Netanyahu and Burhan met secretly in Entebbe at the residence of Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni and agreed to gradually normalize relations, a senior Israeli official told The Times of Israel, speaking on condition of anonymity.
The meeting marks a sharp turnaround for the two countries, once sworn enemies and still technically at war. Sudan - a Muslim-Arab country in northeastern Africa - has recently moved away from Iran's influence over the latter's involvement in Yemen, and ousted longtime dictator Omar al-Bashir a year ago.

4. Report: CIA director secretly met Palestinian security leaders - World Israel News
CIA director Gina Haspel secretly visited Ramallah, the headquarters city of the Palestinian Authority (PA), on Thursday, in the immediate aftermath of President Donald Trump's announcement of his peace plan, which has been rejected by the PA leadership, reports Israeli public broadcaster Kan.
In her meeting with senior Palestinian figures, Haspel was delivered a PA "threat" to cut "all security ties with Israel and the United States" in response to the Trump plan, according to the report.
The PA had already cut political ties with both countries.
PA leader Mahmoud Abbas has stated that he turned down multiple offers to speak by phone with the U.S. president about the peace plan.

5. Naftali Bennett to meet with counterpart Mark Esper in Washington - Jerusalem Post
Defense Minister Naftali Bennett will make his first official visit in his role to the United States on Monday, meeting with his American counterpart Mark Esper in order to discuss threats posed by Iran and the proposed peace plan released last week.
During the visit, Bennett will receive a formal honor guard at the Pentagon and will then meet with Esper for the two's first working meeting.
It is expected that the two will discuss regional security issues, including Iran's continued aggression, as seen through its ongoing attempts to entrench itself in Syria and its continued pursuit of nuclear weapons.

1. Trump Speech to Project Optimism at Time of Bitter Division - Newsmax
Standing before lawmakers in the grand-domed Capitol where his impeachment trial is still underway, President Donald Trump on Tuesday night will declare the state of the union strong, even when it is bitterly divided as he asks Americans for a second term. After becoming just the third president in U.S. history to be impeached, Trump will try to move forward, aides say, offering an optimistic message that stresses economic growth in his annual address before Congress.
But the impeachment drama will hang over him as he stands before the very lawmakers who have voted to remove him from office - and those who are expected to acquit him Wednesday when the Senate trial comes to a close. Any attempt to try to be a messenger for unity will surely be dismissed at a time of palpable anger and rancor, much of which he has helped generate on both sides of the divide.
Senior administration officials were tight-lipped about the extent to which Trump would mention his impeachment, which he has denounced as a "witch hunt" orchestrated by Democrats to try to undo the results of the 2016 election and harm his reelection chances this November. They stressed this his prime-time speech was still a work in progress. But they said Trump sees the speech as an opportunity to talk about moving the country ahead, contrast his vision with Democrats' and try to make the case to voters that he deserves four more years in the White House.
"This has been a very partisan process and this is an opportunity for him to unify the country around opportunities for all Americans," said White House spokeswoman Jessica Ditto.
"Once again, it will present that opportunity for the American people to see how much has been done that not necessarily has been showcased," said Ditto. "This is one of the president's best opportunities to talk about his record unfiltered with a captive audience."

-Father, we pray on our knees for the President's speech to be a unifying message of hope for all Americans. Let all dissenting voices be silenced, and help them to truly hear truth in his words. May President Trump hear from Your heart and speak Your words at this difficult time.
-"He again fixes a certain day, "Today," saying through David after so long a time just as has been said before, "today if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts." (Hebrews 4:7)
2. House Democrat to bring Kashoggi's fiancée to State of the Union - The Hill
Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-Va.) will bring Hatice Cengiz, the fiancée of murdered Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi, as his guest to the State of the Union on Wednesday.
"Hatice's courage to sit in the House Chamber Tuesday night should serve as a clarion call to the President that no matter how high it goes, Saudi Arabia must be held accountable for the murder of this loving father and fiancée, respected journalist, U.S. resident, my constituent, and reformer," Connolly said in a statement Monday.
"Congress has acted. Now too must the President," he added.
Khashoggi, a Virginia resident and Post columnist, was killed in October 2018 at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul. The CIA concluded about a month later that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman ordered the killing of Khashoggi.

-Father, we pray again these blatant attempts to pressure the President in matters of foreign policy. Let Your will and only Your will be done regarding Saudi Arabia.

3. GOP senator warns Republicans could impeach Biden if he wins White House - The Hill
Sen. Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) told Bloomberg on Sunday that the House's impeachment of President Trump had opened the door to impeaching former Vice President Joe Biden should he be elected president in 2020.
"I think this door of impeachable whatever has been opened," Ernst said in the interview. "Joe Biden should be very careful what he's asking for because, you know, we can have a situation where if it should ever be President Biden, that immediately, people, right the day after he would be elected would be saying, 'Well, we're going to impeach him.'"
Ernst said the former vice president could be impeached "for being assigned to take on Ukrainian corruption yet turning a blind eye to Burisma because his son was on the board making over a million dollars a year."
Joe Biden spearheaded the push to remove Ukrainian Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin, who was eventually fired in 2016 with bipartisan support.
Shokin has since claimed he was fired for investigating Burisma, the natural gas company on whose board Joe Biden's son Hunter Biden sat, but the investigation involved dealings prior to Hunter Biden joining the board in 2014, and at the time of Shokin's resignation, the investigation into the company was dormant, according to documents provided to Bloomberg by Shokin's deputy.

- Lord, Senator Ernst is correct - the Democrats have set a precedence that endangers all future Presidents of any political party. We ask that going forward, You would bring repentance to all who have pushed impeachment, to change their minds as they see the truth.

4. Elizabeth Warren Attacks Christian Schools for Following Biblical Sexual Morality- Western Journal
On Sunday Sen. Elizabeth Warren shared a HuffPost article on Twitter bashing private Christian schools for having "anti-LGBTQ+ policies."
The article focused attention on a U.S. Supreme Court case attacking Montana private religious schools and attempting to take away tax credits to individuals who contributed to private schools because the money supports policies that "discriminate against LGBTQ staff and employees."
Such policies include having bathrooms designated for people according to their biological gender and hiring faculty and staff who abide by Christian marriage values.
"States should focus on funding public schools, not private ones - especially ones that maintain anti-LGBTQ+ policies. We must ensure every kid-especially LGBTQ+ kids-can get a high-quality public education," Warren tweeted.

-Lord, we pray that You would stop Senator Warren in her tracks, and bring Your Light to bear on her thoughts and heart. We forgive her foolish words, and ask that You move to change her mind and heart. Only You can turn Your enemies from their sins.

5. Mark Zuckerberg declares Facebook is going to 'stand up for free expression' and allow people to post what they want - but the CEO admits the new move will 'p**s off a lot of people' - Daily Mail
Mark Zuckerberg has declared that Facebook is 'going to stand up for free expression' in spite of the fact it will 'piss off a lot of people'.
The controversial CEO, 35, made the claim during a fiery appearance at the Silicon Slopes Tech Summit in Utah on Friday.
Zuckerberg told the audience that Facebook had previously tried to resist moves that would be branded as 'too offensive' - but says he now believes he is being asked to partake in 'excessive censorship'.
'Increasingly we're getting called to censor a lot of different kinds of content that makes me really uncomfortable,' he claimed.
'We're going to take down the content that's really harmful, but the line needs to be held at some point'.

- Lord, while this sounds like an excellent turnabout on the part of Mark Zuckerberg, the proof will be in his actions and whether or not the censorship will stop. Jesus told us to judge things by their fruits, so we pray that all will carefully watch for a good change.
-"You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles?" (Matthew 7:16)
6. American Conservative Union Formally Disinvites Mitt Romney from CPAC- Breitbart
American Conservative Union (ACU) chairman Matt Schlapp formally "disinvited" Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT) from this year's Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) due to Romney's vote to call on additional witnesses in President Donald Trump's impeachment trial.
"The 'extreme conservative' and Junior Senator from the great state of Utah, @SenatorRomney is formally NOT invited to #CPAC2020," Schlapp tweeted on Friday.
Romney, along with Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME), broke away from the party to vote in favor of hearing from additional witnesses.
The measure to subpoena additional witnesses and documents in the trial failed in a 51-49 vote after other moderate Republicans voted "no."
The Senate is expected to vote Wednesday on acquitting Trump.
CPAC is one of the largest gatherings of conservatives in the country, and Trump has spoken at the event the last three years.

-Lord, Mitt Romney has been hostile to the President for a long time. We pray that this will be one wakeup call that he will heed. We pray for a repentant heart and a removal of all lies and deceptions within Mr. Romney's thoughts.

7. District Attorney In Maine Wants To Start Prosecuting People Based On Accusations And Nothing Else - Daily Wire
A Maine prosecutor has vowed to prosecute people accused of sexual assault even if there is not enough evidence to prove they committed the crime.
WGME reported District Attorney Natasha Irving said she would try to reform the legal system by prosecuting cases that previously had been deemed "too hard to prove." She said prosecutors shouldn't decline to take on such cases because "that response is very damaging to a survivor," suggesting she believes every accuser is a "survivor."
Irving serves Knox, Lincoln, Sagadahoc, and Waldo counties in Maine.
Irving also repeated the misleading statistic that just 2% to 8% of sexual assault accusations are false. The number, as I have written numerous times, refers only to cases that have been proven false. The real number is unknown. Using the same logic employed by Irving, one could say just 3% to 5% of rape accusations are true, since that's how many go to trial and result in a guilty finding.
Irving went on to explain the two criteria she will use to bring forward rape allegations. 1. Is the allegation credible? (Judging from Irving's statements it's hard to see her believing many allegations aren't credible) and 2. Is the accuser (WGME predictably calls them a "victim") willing to go forward with the case and potentially testify?

-Father, this is an egregious idea based on falsehoods. We ask that You prevent this DA from prosecuting innocent people for crimes they did not commit.

8. In Landslide Defeat, Dems Lose Race That Was Supposed To Start Turning Texas Blue -Western Journal
For years, Democrats have been talking about flipping Texas from red to blue, thereby thwarting Republican chances of winning the presidency or likely holding the House of Representatives ever again.
That prospect took a serious hit on Tuesday when Texans elected Republican businessman Gary Gates over Democratic educator Eliz Markowitz by an impressive 58 to 42 percent margin to become the next congressman for the 28th Congressional District.
The district runs from the suburbs of San Antonio south to the Mexican border.
The 30,000 ballots cast represented an unusually high voter turnout, easily surpassing the previous record of 22,000 for a special election, the Houston Chronicle reported.

-Thank You, Lord for this victory! We pray that more and more states will see the plan to flip them into the liberal viewpoint - and that the people who love You will vote, pray and stand against it.

9. Virginia Democrats pass bill to let non-doctors commit abortions - LifeSite
On Tuesday and Wednesday, the Virginia House and Senate respectively both voted to allow non-doctors to commit abortions and to end the requirement women be given pre-abortion ultrasounds, counseling, and a 24-hour waiting period.
The Senate voted 20-20 on the bill, with Democrat Sen. Joe Morrissey bucking his party's line and Lieutenant Gov. Justin Fairfax breaking the tie. The bills also loosen health and safety requirements for abortion facilities.
Any discrepancies between the House and Senate versions of the bill will have to be resolved before it is signed into law.

10. ISIS Claims Streatham Terror Attack, Govt Considers Ways to Contain Other Islamist Prisoners- Breitbart
Boris Johnson's government is considering new measures to contain terror convicts after an Islamist freed from prison early stabbed civilians in Streatham, London.
Sudesh Amman, 20, was under active surveillance when he began stabbing people in Streatham, having been released on licence automatically halfway through an already short three-year sentence for terrorism offences.
The attack, which has now been claimed by the Islamic State, is the second to have been carried out by a terrorist freed from prison early in the last three months, with London Bridge killer Usman Khan having also been out "on licence" when he struck.
