Focus on Israel
1. UK to Israel: Take a Breather on Settlement Annexation - Jerusalem Online
The UK is cautioning Israel against using the plan to move ahead with extending Israeli sovereignty to parts of the West Bank. "Any such unilateral moves would be damaging to renewed efforts to re-start peace negotiations, and contrary to international law," said UK Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab. "Any changes to the status quo cannot be taken forward without an agreement negotiated by the parties themselves," he added.
The U.S. is recognizing Israel's right to sovereignty over areas that would include most existing Israeli communities in the West Bank. However, Washington seemed to be acting to slow the process envisioned by Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
2. Israel warns EU its biased rhetoric will 'minimize' its role in any peace process - Israel Hayom
The European Union came under heavy criticism from the Israeli Foreign Ministry on Tuesday after it condemned Jerusalem's plans to apply Israeli law in Judea and Samaria as part of US President Donald Trump's peace plan for the Middle East.
"The fact that the High Representative of the EU Josep Borrell chose to use threatening language towards Israel, so shortly after he assumed office & only hours after his meetings in Iran, is regrettable &, to say the least, odd," Israeli Foreign Ministry Director General Lior Haiat tweeted. "Pursuing such policies & conduct is the best way to ensure that the EU's role in any process will be minimized," he said.
The angry tweets came after Borrell said steps by Israel to annex territory, "if implemented, could not pass unchallenged." Borrell also said that "to build a just and lasting peace, the unresolved final status issues must be decided through direct negotiations between both parties."
3. Netanyahu said to warn Gaza war possible before March 2 elections - Times of Israel
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told municipal leaders in the Gaza area on Wednesday that Israel could launch extensive military operations in the Palestinian enclave before the upcoming Knesset elections if Palestinian terrorists continued launching rockets and airborne explosive devices at southern Israel.
Netanyahu told the council chairmen that while Israel is making significant efforts to ensure calm in the area, the military is ready for an operation in Gaza if needed, according to Hebrew media reports.
The comments came after a week of near-daily rocket and mortar attacks from Gaza and dozens of balloon-borne explosive devices being launched from the Hamas-ruled Strip toward southern Israel.
4. Arab Killed After Throwing Firebombs At IDF Soldiers - Israel National News
A 17-year-old Arab terrorist, Muhammad Salman Tohma al-Hadad, was shot dead Wednesday after throwing Molotov Cocktails at a group of soldiers in Hevron for several minutes.
On Monday, a Border Patrol officer was struck by a Molotov cocktail thrown at him during a violent demonstration against the century plan involving dozens of Arabs.
The policeman's uniform caught fire, but he quickly extinguished the fire and sustained no physical injury.
5. Watch: Navy thwarts smuggling of weapons to Hamas in Gaza - Israel National News
The Navy, together with Shabak (Israel Security Agency) forces, three months ago prevented the smuggling of weapons into Gaza from the maritime area in the northern Sinai.
After a suspected smuggling vessel was captured, naval soldiers were directed to the vessel and a chase ensued. The vessel was ultimately stopped and the two terrorist operatives on it were arrested and transferred for questioning by security forces.
Upon questioning, the operatives revealed that the weapons were intended for Hamas naval commando forces. The IDF said that the "Navy works to monitor terrorist activities and smuggling and to thwart them in their early stages, to prevent the growth of terrorist groups in Gaza via the sea."
The Daily Brief
1. U.S. trade deficit falls in 2019 for the first time in six years-Reuters
The U.S. trade deficit dropped for the first time in six years in 2019 as the White House's trade war with China curbed the import bill, helping the economy to continue growing moderately in the fourth quarter despite a slowdown in consumer spending.
The Commerce Department said on Wednesday the trade deficit fell 1.7% to $616.8 billion last year, the first drop since 2013. Goods imports tumbled 1.7% last year, with exports decreasing 1.3%, showing that the Trump administration's "America First" agenda decreased the flow of goods.

- Thank you father God, for this economic win for President Trump and the United States of America. We ask that You would give supernatural wisdom to the president and those in Congress who are in charge of spending taxpayer dollars, that they will resist the urge to spend frivolously and use our money wisely.
- "For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding." (Proverbs 2:6)
2. Christian leaders react to Trump's emphasis on faith during SOTU-Fox News
President Trump championed faith and religious freedom in his State of the Union address to Congress Tuesday night, celebrated by prominent Christian leaders.
The Rev. Johnnie Moore told Fox News Trump's speech was a "great American moment.
"The thread running through every aspect of the president's speech was faith -- faith in America because of America's faith in God," Moore, the commissioner on the United States Commission for International Religious Freedom and the president of The Congress of Christian Leaders, said. And more than just presenting these ideas as lofty ideals, he stood for life by celebrating a miracle child, he showed the primacy of American values by honoring those who have lived and died for them, celebrated our diversity by those he chose to honor as his guests," Moore added.
Thank you, Mr. President, for reminding Americans why they voted for you in the last election," Graham wrote on Facebook. "May God bless you and your family, President Donald J. Trump, as you continue to lead our nation."

- We give you praise and glory father God that more and more of your people are in agreement and Unity about the direction that our country is going in. We ask that you would move in the hearts of the evangelical people in America that are not involved, to become more engaged. Encourage them, and give them the boldness that their voice and vote matters.
- "I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought." (1 Corinthians 1:10)
3. CNN's Van Jones: Trump is 'going after enough black folks to cause' Democrats 'problems'-Washington Examiner
CNN commentator Van Jones said that President Trump's appeals to black voters could sink the 2020 Democratic presidential nominee's chance at winning the White House.
Jones, 51, appeared on a network panel after Trump's State of the Union address on Tuesday night. He stressed Democrats' need to take a "clinical" approach to politics ahead of November's general election and warned that Trump's appeals to black voters could be effective.
"What he was saying to African Americans can be effective. You may not like it, but he mentioned HBCUs. Our black colleges have been struggling for a long time, a bunch of them have gone under. He threw a lifeline to them in real life in his budget," Jones said.
"He talked about criminal justice reforms. He talked about opportunity zones. He talked about school choice," he continued. "That was a warning shot across the bow at Democrats that he is going after enough black folks to cause us problems."

- Thank you father God, that your light and truth is being revealed to all Americans from all color, race, and creed, on the abundance and prosperity that President Trump has brought to our country. We ask that you continue to shed your light on others that they will come to know the truth as well.
- " I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth." (3 John 1:4)
4. Pelosi releases statement about Trump's SOTU address-Speaker.gov
Tuesday night, Pelosi posted a link to her statement on Twitter, and wrote, "The manifesto of mistruths presented in page after page of the address tonight should be a call to action for everyone who expects truth from the President and policies worthy of his office and the American people."
In addition, another portion of her statement stated, "Next week, when the President presents his budget, the American people will see the stark reality of his agenda. A federal budget should be a statement of our national values, and the President has sadly shown that he does not value the good health of the American people. Democrats continue to urge the President to abandon his assault on seniors and families and to join us to deliver real progress in lowering the price of prescription drugs and making the bold investments needed to rebuild America's infrastructure in a green and modern way."

- Father God, we repent on behalf of Nancy Pelosi, and forgive her for she knows not what she does. We ask that you will expose the lies and the deceit that comes out of her mouth hoping to confuse the American public.
- "The ruthless will vanish, the mockers will disappear, and all who have an eye for evil will be cut down-those who with a word make someone out to be guilty, who ensnare the defender in court and with false testimony deprive the innocent of justice. (Isaiah 29:20-21)
5. Senator Romney Votes "guilty" in Impeachment Trial - NBC News
Romney, R-Utah, announced his vote in a dramatic speech on the Senate floor two hours before the vote. "I swore an oath before God to exercise impartial justice," he said. "I am profoundly religious. My faith is at the heart of who I am." What Trump did, Romney said, was "grievously wrong." "The president is guilty of an appalling abuse of public trust," he said.
What he did was not 'perfect.' No, it was a flagrant assault on our electoral rights, our national security interests, and our fundamental values. Corrupting an election to keep oneself in office is perhaps the most abusive and destructive violation of one's oath of office that I can imagine," Romney said.
Romney, a frequent target of the president, was one of only two GOP senators to call for witness testimony in the trial, and is the only Republican to say he would convict Trump on one of the articles of impeachment. (Read more)
- Father God forgive Senator Romney, for he knows not what he does.
- "We will not be influenced when people try to trick us with lies so clever they sound like the truth." (Eph. 4:14)
6. RNC chairwoman splits with uncle Mitt Romney: GOP stands 'with President Trump' - The Hill
Ronna Romney McDaniel, the chairwoman of the Republican National Committee and Sen. Mitt Romney's (R-Utah) niece, split with her uncle Wednesday after he announced he would vote to convict President Trump on one article of impeachment.
"This is not the first time I have disagreed with Mitt, and I imagine it will not be the last. The bottom line is President Trump did nothing wrong, and the Republican Party is more united than ever behind him," she tweeted.
The statement came after Romney, an elder statesman within the GOP and the party's 2012 presidential nominee, broke ranks and announced he would vote to convict Trump on a charge of abuse of power. (Read more)
- Thank you father God for the unity within the Republican Party supporting Donald Trump and his American first agenda. We pray and ask that you continue to bring others on board in support for President Trump, the good things he's doing for Americans, and to be on the right side of history in Jesus name amen.
- "Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace."(Ephesians 4:3)
7. Trump ACQUITTED : Senate ends impeachment saga - Washington Examiner
The Senate voted to acquit President Trump of two articles of impeachment, ending a monthslong effort by Democrats to remove him from office.
Democrats fell far short of winning the needed 67 votes to convict the president of either the abuse of power or the obstruction of Congress charges. The vote fell largely along party lines, reflecting poll numbers showing a sharp partisan divide on the issue.
The acquittal ended a historic impeachment process that began with a late September House investigation into the president's decision to block security aid intended for Ukraine. (Read more)
- We give you all the praise and all the glory father God for seeing President Trump through this impeachment drama! We ask that you send your angels to continue to protect and guard President Trump. Continue to offer counsel and encouragement to him moving forward in 2020. You are so faithful!
- "I will praise the name of God with song And magnify Him with thanksgiving." (Psalms 69:30)
8. MoveOn targets vulnerable GOP senators with ad campaign following impeachment -The Hill
Progressive advocacy group MoveOn announced Wednesday it would launch an advertising campaign against three vulnerable GOP senators who voted to acquit President Trump in the Senate's impeachment trial.
The messages targeting Sens. Martha McSally (Ariz.), Cory Gardner (Colo.) and Susan Collins (Maine) are the opening salvo of the "Vote Them Out" ad campaign that MoveOn says it will continue through the November elections.
"Republican Senators may have failed to do their job, but voters won't fail to do ours. We have one message for Donald Trump and the Senate Republicans who time and time again have helped cover up his abuses: We will see you at the ballot box," said MoveOn Political Action Executive Director Rahna Epting.
The advertisements will run both on digital platforms as well as broadcast markets in Phoenix, Denver and Portland. (Read more)
- In the name of Jesus we cancel and cast down the evil plans of the enemy to bully the senators that did not vote the way the left in this country wanted them to vote. We pray your protection upon the senators and give them strength to keep doing what is right.
- "Although they plot against you, their evil schemes will never succeed. For they will turn and run when they see your arrows aimed at them. Rise up, O Lord, in all your power. With music and singing we celebrate your mighty acts." (Psalm 21:11-13)
9. Rep. Doug Collins: Trump will be 'acquitted for life', impeachment will go down as 'sad time' in history - Fox News
Rep. Doug Collins, R-Ga., one of numerous House Republicans on President Trump's legal defense team, told the "Brian Kilmeade Show" Wednesday that the Democrats' impeachment efforts will go down as a "sad time in history."
"You never predict history but having lived this one, history will show this as a very sad time in our history," Collins said, hours before Trump's expected acquittal in the Senate.
Collins, rejected House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's claim that Trump's impeachment will taint his legacy forever, saying, "he will also be acquitted for life too." (Read more)
- Father God we pray that you would restore America's justice system and repair the damage that has been done by this impeachment sham in Jesus name.

10. GOP introduces resolution to condemn Pelosi for ripping up Trump's State of the Union speech - Fox News
Just hours after their colleagues in the Senate voted to acquit President Trump on the two articles of impeachment brought against him, Republican lawmakers in the House introduced a resolution to condemn House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for ripping up a copy of Trump's State of the Union address Tuesday night.
The privileged resolution, which was introduced Wednesday by Texas Republican Rep. Kay Granger, blasted Pelosi's public shredding of the text of the address as "a breach of decorum" and said it brought "discredit on the House."
After sparring with Republicans on the floor, House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, D-Md., said he will move to table, or set aside the resolution, but since the measure is privileged the House must consider the resolution between now and Friday. (Read more)
- Father God, we thank You that Rep. Kay Granger has had the courage to offer this resolution on the House floor. We ask that the angel of the presence of our Lord would now go ahead of her, so that this resolution would indeed be voted upon before tomorrow morning, as the Majority Leader has indicated. Let truth prevail we pray, O Lord, amen.
- "In all their distress, He too was afflicted, and the Angel of His Presence saved them." (Isaiah 63:9)
