"Praying for All in Authority"
 Monday, June 8, 2020

"Violence will not be heard again in your land, Nor devastation or destruction within your borders; But you will call your walls salvation, and your gates praise." (Isaiah 60:18)

As He says also in Hosea,

"I will call those who were not My people, 'My people,'
And her who was not beloved, 'beloved.'"
"And it shall be that in the place where it was said to them, 'you are not My people,'
There they shall be called sons of the living God."

Cristobal Lashing Gulf Coast

Cristobal lashing US Gulf Coast

Tropical Storm Cristobal will make landfall on the Gulf Coast today with threats of flooding rainfall, storm surge flooding, tornadoes and gusty winds. Cristobal is also expected to spread heavy rain and gusty winds through the lower Mississippi Valley and upper Midwest early this week.

The Latest

Bands of heavier rain are pushing ashore from southeast Louisiana to north Florida and south Georgia.

Rain rates from 3 to 6 inches per hour triggered significant flash flooding in parts of downtown Jacksonville, Florida, trapping cars. Farther west, one observer near Hopewell, Florida (Madison County), reported 8.17 inches of rain over 24 hours ending Sunday morning.

A tornado watch has been issued for southern Mississippi and southern Alabama until 5 p.m. CDT. This includes Mobile, Alabama, and Biloxi and Gulfport, Mississippi.

- Father God, we continue to ask for Your Hand of protection to rest upon all who are now in the path of this storm. Thank You, Lord, amen.

"When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you." (Isaiah 43:2a)

1. 'It's a war crime': Thousands rally in Tel Aviv against Netanyahu annexation bid - Times of Israel

Thousands of Israelis gathered in Tel Aviv Saturday evening to protest Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's pledge to begin annexing parts of the West Bank next month.

Police initially sought to block the rally but backtracked Friday after meeting with organizers, who urged participants to wear masks and adhere to social distancing guidelines.

Dozens of officers were securing the demonstration after police said attendance would be capped at 2,000, though the Haaretz daily put turnout at 6,000 people in what appeared to be the largest protest in the country since the start of the coronavirus pandemic.

The demonstration was organized by the left-wing Meretz party and the communist Hadash faction of the majority-Arab Joint List, along with several other left-wing rights groups.

2. PA to ICC: We consider ourselves exempt from Oslo Accords - Israel National News

The Palestinian Authority has told the International Criminal Court (ICC) at The Hague that it considers itself exempt from any agreement with Israel and the United States, including the Oslo Accords, due to Israel's plan to apply sovereignty over Judea and Samaria next month, Haaretz reported Friday.

The PA released a statement from chairman Mahmoud Abbas in response to the ICC's request last week for clarification regarding Abbas' recent declaration that he is ending all agreements with Israel and the US. This may have ramifications for questions of international jurisdiction in PA-assigned territories.

Abbas announced last month that "if Israel proceeds with annexation, a material breach of the agreements between the two sides, then it will have annulled any remnants of the Oslo Accords and all other agreements concluded between them."

His statement in response to the ICC declares that Israel's "persistent violations of these agreements, and its announced plans and measures for annexation, absolve the Palestine Liberation Organization and the State of Palestine from any obligation arising from these agreements, including security."

3. Jerusalem minister: 'We will not accept' Palestinian state in Trump peace plan - Times of Israel

Jerusalem and Heritage Minister Rafi Peretz said Friday that he would oppose parts of the Trump administration's Israeli-Palestinian peace plan amid a growing chorus of right-wing opposition to the Palestinian state outlined in the plan.

Peretz's statement came a day after a senior member of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's Likud party, Energy Minister Yuval Steinitz, said that the Israeli government has not fully adopted the plan, indicating that Jerusalem could be planning to accept only the parts that favor Israel.

The US has indicated that its recognition for unilateral annexation in the West Bank is contingent on Israel working within the framework of the plan. The Palestinians have rejected the plan outright.

Peretz, who heads the right-wing Jewish Home faction, in a Facebook post said he would not accept the establishment of a Palestinian state, which is included in the outline.

4. Russia's foray into Israeli-Palestinian peacemaking - YNET News

Russia is reportedly attempting to organize a "mini-summit" between the United States and Palestinian officials in the coming weeks and is willing to set up a meeting between Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.

According to reports, the goal of the prospective meeting is to provide Palestinian officials with the opportunity to propose modifications to U.S. President Donald Trump's Middle East peace plan, which, perhaps most significantly, envisions Israel's annexation as early as July of about 30% of the West Bank.

Is there a new powerbroker in the Middle East? Not so fast, say analysts.

"I don't think that Russia can play the role of the U.S.," Dr. Lior Lehrs, a policy fellow and director of the Program on Israeli-Palestinian Peacemaking at Mitvim, the Israeli Institute for Regional Foreign Policies, told The Media Line.

Under previous administrations, the U.S. took the lead in peace initiatives but that position, according to Lehrs, has changed in the years following Donald Trump's election to the presidency in 2016.

"It was always the United States leading the process but in the last years you have this vacuum because the Trump Administration cannot play this role as a mediator; he changed this policy," Lehrs said.

5. Iran prepares to confront Israel in Syria via Hezbollah - report - Jerusalem Post

Iran may be preparing for conflict with Israel in Syria and no longer will accept Israeli airstrikes on its warehouses without a response, a report over the weekend suggested. Veteran journalist Elijah Magnier wrote on the website Medium about whether the "great Middle Eastern war will begin in the Levant" and cited Syria as a potential flashpoint. Magnier's report is interesting because he asserts that according to "private" sources, Iran is evacuating "sites of the gatherings of its advisers, not for withdrawal or for redeployment, but to find bases within the Syrian Army barracks. Hezbollah has taken over the vacated Iranian buildings. Russia has been informed of the change so that the information would reach Israel." In mid-May, reports emerged that Iran might be withdrawing some of its forces from Syria, estimated at some 1,000 IRGC personnel. But analysts and US officials rejected this assessment at the time. The June 6 piece by Magnier provides another view as to what may be happening: "Iran no longer wants to accept Israeli strikes on its warehouses without any response."

6. Why Western Media is Biased against Israel- BFP

When Palestinian journalist Eyad Hamad criticized Israel, his employers at the Associated Press (AP) summoned him for a hearing, which ended only with a warning.

When Hamad criticized the Palestinian Authority [PA], he received a letter from the AP informing him that "your employment has been terminated."

The dismissal of 63-year-old Hamad from the AP-an act that enraged Palestinian journalists as well as human rights and media groups in the West Bank [Judea and Samaria] and the Gaza Strip-did not surprise those familiar with the way the foreign media has been covering the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Many foreign journalists seem to see the conflict along the lines of "good guys (Palestinians) versus bad guys (Israel)." They wake up every morning and search for any story that reflects badly on Israel. The foreign correspondents then hire Palestinians to assist them in spreading lies about Israel. Many of these Palestinians are not real journalists, but political activists who serve as propagandists for the PLO [Palestine Liberation Organization], Hamas and other Palestinian terrorist groups. (Read more)

- Pray that the Lord will awaken international news organizations to the negative influence of Middle Eastern journalists in their employ who are bent on spreading lies and working to poison popular opinion against Israel. Pray that they will have the courage to fire such propagandists and commit to using their platforms to tell the truth at long last. Scripture

- Do not keep silent, O God! Do not hold Your peace, and do not be still, O God! For behold, Your enemies make a tumult; and those who hate You have lifted up their head. They have taken crafty counsel against Your people, and consulted together against Your sheltered ones. (Psalm 83:1-3)

The Daily Brief

1. Barr Blames Foreign Interests, 'Extremist Agitators' for Strife in Nation - Newsmax

Attorney General William Barr said Thursday that foreign interests and "extremist agitators" affiliated with groups like Antifa have sought to widen divisions in U.S. society following the death of a black man at the hands of a white police officer. Barr, speaking at a news conference, said federal agents have made 51 arrests so far for charges involving violent activity surrounding protests over the death of George Floyd, an unarmed black man, at the hands of police in Minneapolis last month.

Barr said most protesters were peaceful demonstrators, but the Justice Department has found evidence that "extremist agitators" were hijacking protests to "pursue their own separate and violent agenda." "We have evidence that Antifa and other similar extremist groups as well as actors of a variety of different political persuasions have been involved in instigating and participating in the violent activity," Barr said. He said the Justice Department is receiving intelligence daily on efforts to turn protests violent and is deploying resources to get ahead of those threats. Barr vowed that justice will be served in the case.

Barr also said Floyd's case highlighted why many people - particularly African-Americans - lack confidence in the U.S. justice system. "Our free society depends on the rule of law," Barr said at a news conference in Washington on Thursday. "When the rule of law breaks down the promise of America does also." (Read more)

- Father God, we pray that You will manifest the power of the kingdom of God to be in control of all the extremist agitators, Antifa and all the actors who are participating in this violent activity. Disarm the enemy and render them powerless against the stability of America. We pray in the Name of Jesus.

"Through God will we push down all our enemies: through God's Name will we tread them under that rise up against us." (Psalm 44:5)

2. Pete Hegseth blasts DC mayor, says National Guard prevented desecration of monuments
 - Fox News

Were it not for National Guard soldiers deployed to Washington, D.C., this week, all of the most cherished monuments in the nation's capital would have been defaced by violent protesters, Fox News' Pete Hegseth said Friday night. In addition, the White House likely would have been besieged, the co-host of "Fox & Friends Weekend" said during an appearance on "Hannity."

Hegseth knows firsthand, because he spent some time serving with the Guard in D.C. during the unrest.

"I was there for three nights on the streets of Washington, D.C.," Hegseth said. "At one point, it was me and a handful of other guys standing at the Vietnam War Memorial to defend it from people who would want to deface it, after the Lincoln Memorial." Hegseth said that while he was stationed at The Wall, he prayed and began to think how similar the situation was to that experienced by troops returning from Vietnam in the 1960s and 1970s, many of whom received hostile welcomes in the U.S.

"If we had not been there, if the National Guard had not been there, every single monument would've been defaced, everything single business would've been looted and they would've laid siege to the White House in an unending fashion," he continued. "Without [the Guard], you do not have any peaceful protest -- and without what the president did in calling in the National Guard and the other people, Washington, D.C., would be a very different place tonight," he said.

Hegseth also blasted D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser for being irresponsible and reckless in her handling of the Guardsmen and the protesters. He also confirmed that Bowser essentially evicted several National Guard troops from a Washington hotel this week. "That was the hotel I was staying at," he said. "I can confirm that the guys that were still there have been kicked out of the hotel by the mayor. "The men and women in uniform who had nowhere else to stay, that is where the Army hotel had been set up so that they could protect the very city that she supposedly runs." (Read more)

- Father God, we pray that the Holy Spirit will surround the White House, President Trump and family, all the cherished monuments, the National Guard and all the other guys standing in defense of the Vietnam War Memorial. Bind the evil forces in the Mayor of D.C. by the Blood of Jesus. We pray in the Name of Jesus.

"For the Lord your God is He that goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you." (Deuteronomy 20:4)

3. It Turns Out the '13-Year-Old Boy' Shot by Police Was Actually 34 Years Old, Armed and Dangerous - Western Journal

Cops are still facing fury over the shooting of a 13-year-old boy despite proof that the "child" was not only a 34-year-old man but was also armed and dangerous. The reports of the shooting victim's age first broke late Tuesday night amid the chaos in New York City.

"A 13 year old 'had a gun' and the NYPD shot him 19 times but when a white man walks around in public with a huge a-- gun they don't do jack s---," journalist David Leavitt wrote on Twitter. It's unclear how many people his false claim has reached, but a video accompanying his post has over 13 million views. Similar misleading posts remain up across social media. The rumor spread as a multitude of accounts repeated the fake news.

Less than two hours after the shooting, police were already working to correct the fake news. "This is inaccurate information," New York City Police Department Chief Terence Monahan wrote in response to rumors on Twitter. "The armed man who was shot by police was 34-years-old and had just shot another man." (Read more)

- Almighty God, we pray that You will reign in the long stronghold of lies from the media. The media disrupts systems, diverts attention, releases chaos with unparalleled proportions. Father, break this power of death off the world through misleading posts on social media, We pray in the Name of Jesus.

"Because the creature (world) itself shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God." (Romans 8:21)

4. Trump Hints Former Political Adviser Roger Stone Won't Serve Jail Time - Newsmax

President Donald Trump told his former political adviser, who is facing possible prison time, that he "can sleep well at night" in a Thursday morning tweet. Trump hinted at a possible pardon for Stone, calling him a "victim of a corrupt and illegal Witch Hunt."

Stone was convicted for lying to investigators and witness tampering during a special investigation into Russia interference in the 2016 presidential election. He was sentenced to serve 40 months behind bars. Stone has filed for a retrial.

Trump's support for his friend came after founder of conservative group Turning Point USA Charlie Kirk tweeted that Stone "will serve more time in prison than 99% of these rioters destroying America." Kirk was referencing people who are protesting the death of George Floyd, a black man killed by a white police officer in Minneapolis. Many demonstrations are turning violent and destructive. "This isn't justice," Kirk wrote, urging people to retweet his message for a "full pardon of Roger Stone!"

Trump shared Kirk's tweet, adding his own message, that Stone was a "victim" of special counsel Robert Mueller's probe, which will "go down as the greatest political crime in history." Federal prosecutors originally recommended Stone serve seven to nine years in prison, Politico reports. Trump criticized the sentence and called it a "horrible and very unfair situation" on Twitter.

The Justice Department then revised its guidelines, but offered no timeline for a sentence, and stated the initial proposal "could be considered excessive and unwarranted." The four attorneys who worked on Stone's prosecution resigned or stepped down from the case. Stone was told by the Bureau of Prisons to report to prison by June 30 to serve his 40-month sentence. His appeal is pending.(Read more)

- Almighty God, we pray You will launch out into the deep well of the Justice Department and pull up its roots of authority in this case and declare a full pardon for Roger Stone. Release Mr. Stone from the tentacles of the system, as President Trump moves in to deliver him. In the mighty Name of Jesus we pray.

- "Be not afraid of their faces: for I AM with you to deliver you, says the Lord." (Jeremiah 1:8)

5. Shocking job numbers raise hopes for quicker recovery - The Hill

A shockingly positive May jobs report has raised hopes of a faster recovery from the coronavirus-induced recession. Economists had expected the unemployment rate to rise from a post-World War II record of 14.7 percent in April to Great Depression-era levels of 20 percent or higher. Instead, the economy added 2.5 million jobs and the unemployment rate dropped to 13.3 percent.

"It indicates the recession is over and the recovery has begun," said Mark Zandi, chief economist of Moody's Analytics.

President Trump who has built his case for reelection around the economy, was ecstatic over the news, giving a hastily scheduled Rose Garden speech in which he touted the numbers as "a big step in our comeback."

The stunning gains were mainly due to the return of 2.7 million workers from temporary layoffs or furloughs, half of them reporting back to restaurants, bars and other businesses in the leisure and hospitality industry. The survey period for the May report came shortly after more than half of states began relaxing business restrictions, catching the first wave of reopenings. Keeping workers connected to their employers is crucial to a quick recovery, and experts see the swift end of some temporary layoffs as a strong start. (Read more)

- Holy God: we pray that You reach down and touch President Trump with strength to continue pushing forward with divine wisdom, knowledge and understanding that will support his great accomplishments because of Your hand on his life. We pray in the Name of Jesus.

- "With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the Lord our God to help us, and to fight our battles." (2 Chronicles 32:8)

6. "Our Focus Now Is on Healing," Mike Pence Tells Black Faith Leaders at Listening Session - Christian Headlines

Saying the "focus is now on healing" America, Vice President Mike Pence took part in a listening session Friday with faith and community leaders at a Maryland church that highlighted strategies to bring the country together following the death of George Floyd. "My prayer is that we as a nation have ears to hear -- to listen to one another, and open hearts," Pence told the leaders. "I'm really here to listen."

Most of the leaders in the room were black.

Bishop Harry Jackson Jr., who is black and serves as the pastor of host Hope Christian Church in Beltsville, Md., said Floyd's death was "representative of an almost 400-year history and challenges that we've had." Jackson's father, he said, was "threatened at gunpoint" by a Florida state trooper more than 60 years ago. The gun discharged, sending a round over the father's head that temporarily deafened him. Jackson's family moved out of the South because of the incident. "So, this administration did not create this problem with this backdrop, but it has the opportunity to heal it," Jackson said.

Pence referenced the Trump administration's signing of the criminal reform bill and its champion of expanding educational opportunities - policy positions he said assists the black community. "This was all in an effort to address what have been the historic inequalities in our African American communities and in many of the communities and families in our inner cities," he said. "And as we make our way through this time as a nation, our focus now is on healing and how we heal America." (Read more)

- O God in heaven, we pray for every hurting soul in the United States. Holy Spirit, fall upon all hurting Americans and bring miraculous healing to their minds, souls and bodies. In the Name of Jesus we pray.

- "And wherever Jesus entered, into villages, or cities, or country, they laid the sick in the streets, and besought Him that they might touch but the border of His garment: and as many as touched Him were made whole." (Matthew 6:58)

7. Researchers Retract Lancet Study Linking Malaria Drug to Risks - Newsmax

A study that said a malaria drug backed by U.S. President Donald Trump raised the risk of heart side effects and death has been retracted by the authors.

The study was published on May 22 in the Lancet, a prestigious U.K. medical journal. Questions soon arose about the accuracy of the underlying data, said researchers led by Mandeep Mehra, the medical director of Brigham and Women's Hospital Heart and Vascular Center, in the retraction note published by the journal Thursday.

While the company that produced the original data, Surgisphere Corp., had signaled that it would cooperate with an independent review, it ultimately reneged and said doing so would violate confidentiality agreements, wrote the study authors. "As such, our reviewers were not able to conduct an independent and private peer review," the authors said.

"We all entered this collaboration to contribute in good faith and at a time of great need during the Covid-19 pandemic," the authors said. "We deeply apologize to you, the editors, and the journal readership for any embarrassment or inconvenience that this may have caused." (Read more)

- Father, we thank You that this retraction has now been published, in Your name, amen.

- "Repent, for the Kingdom of God is at hand." (Matthewe4:17)

8. Russia declares state of emergency over Arctic Circle oil spill caused by melting permafrost - USA Today

Melting permafrost caused a fuel tank holding 21,000 tons of diesel oil to collapse in Russia's Arctic Circle, leading to a 135-square mile oil spill. According to Rosprirodnadzor, the Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resources, 6,000 tons spilled onto the ground, another 15,000 tons into the water. Oil products got into the Ambarnaya and Daldykan rivers and in almost all their tributaries.

The spill occurred in the city of Norilsk, Russia, at a power plant operated by Norilsk-Taimyr Energy Co., a subsidiary of Nornickel. The town is located above the Arctic Circle in Russia's far North.

An emergency situation has been declared, the company said on its website. Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed to introduce a federal-level emergency regime because of the spill after the Minister of Emergency Situations Yevgeny Zinichev suggested it.

. . . A diesel fuel storage tank failed when the permafrost it was built on began to soften. As a result of damage to the tank, fuel spilled onto the roadway and a passing car caught fire. "The accident was caused by a sudden sinking of supporting posts in the basement of the storage tank," the company said in a statement. The leaking diesel oil had extended as far as 7 miles from the accident site and turned long stretches of the Ambarnaya bright red. (Read more)

- O righteous Father, Your hand has gone out in judgment against Russia's godlessness. We pray they, as a nation, will turn to God for help and guidance in this situation. Save Putin's soul and the souls of all their leaders. We ask in the Name of Jesus.

- "Therefore, son of man, prophesy against Gog, and say, Thus says the Lord God, behold, I am against you, O Gog." (Ezekiel 39:1)

9. Iran, Russia, China, Turkey celebrate 'collapse' of US - Jerusalem Post

Authoritarian regimes throughout the world are pushing narratives that appear to gloat over and celebrate that chaos unfolding in the United States. On Monday, Iran's media pushed stories that highlighted the "collapse," while quoting Russian sources portraying that the US is flailing about as its world order comes crashing down.

The US became the world's most powerful country, a global hegemonic superpower, after the Soviet Union and its client states fell apart in 1989. However, Russia, China, Iran and increasingly Turkey have all awaited the period when the world would become multi-polar again. They have sought to work more closely together, and they have sat frequently at global forums that the US does not attend.

To coordinate efforts against the US, these countries all have state media that is well funded, such as RT, TRT, Iran's Tasnim and Fars News and numerous Chinese media outlets. The policies of these countries are to slowly undermine the US and wait for moments of US weakness to push their agendas.

The goal of Turkey, Iran, China and Russia during the current US crises is to use it to their advantage to press gains. Turkey has been flooding Libya with weapons and Syrian mercenaries during the crisis. China has pushed up against India in a border dispute. Iran is flexing its muscles at home and sending tankers to Venezuela. Russia has sent warplanes to Libya and Syria. (Read more)

- Almighty God, we declare that all curses spoken against the United States will be dismantled by the stroke of Your Word. We pray that Iran, Russia, China and Turkey will receive the curse they have spoken over America, for their wickedness shall reap destruction. We pray in Jesus' Name.

"He that keeps his mouth keeps his life: but he that opens wide his lips shall have destruction." (Proverbs 13:2)

10. BREAKING! Minneapolis City Council votes to disband Minneapolis Police Department - NBC Sports

The world is indeed shifting on its axis. Thirteen days after the murder of George Floyd on a Minneapolis street by a Minneapolis police officer, the Minneapolis City Council has announced its intention to disband the Minneapolis Police Department. "Our commitment is to end our city's toxic relationship with the Minneapolis Police Department, to end policing as we know it, and to re-create systems of public safety that actually keep us safe," Minneapolis City Council President Lisa Bender said Sunday, via KARE11.com.

A veto-proof majority voted in favor of the measure, which means that the Minneapolis mayor will not be able to block the move. The city will instead invest in "community-led safety initiatives." In recent days, the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis Public Schools, and others decided to end or restrict their relationship with the Minneapolis Police Department.

With the Vikings staging at least 10 games per year in Minneapolis, the end of the Minneapolis Police Department will surely have a dramatic impact on security arrangements in and around the stadium. (Read more)

- Lord, these people do not know what they are doing. As city leaders in Los Angeles, New York, and Minneapolis decide to either defund or dismantle their police, it will leave the citizens without any protection and in great danger from gang and other criminal violence. Let deception and delusion be lifted from their eyes, Lord. We pray in the Spirit for Your intervention according to Your will and purpose.

"While evil people and impostors will go on from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived." (2 Timothy 3:13)

"And with all wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. Therefore God sends them a strong delusion, so that they may believe what is false." (2 Thessalonians 2:10,11)

3. George Floyd killing: hundreds of thousands turn out for huge protests across US - The Guardian UK

Hundreds of thousands of demonstrators marched in cities across the United States on Saturday in what were some of the largest protests yet seen in the unrest triggered by the killing of George Floyd by a white Minneapolis police officer.

At the same time, a long line of people, some chanting "No justice, no peace", waited outside a church in North Carolina for a memorial service for Floyd as ceremonies to mark his life and mourn his death continued.

In Washington thousands gathered at numerous rallies , from the Lincoln Memorial, to Freedom Plaza, to Capitol Hill. The atmosphere was peaceful and full of chanting and shouting, though there was a heavy security presence, including members of the national guard.

The White House also now stands behind a new, reinforced fence, lending an element of siege to a presidency, city and country in turmoil after a fierce debate about racism and police brutality was triggered by Floyd's death.

Washington had prepared by closing certain streets to vehicles and telling drivers to avoid coming into the city if possible. (Read more)

4. Chicago Pastor Leads Peaceful Protest Through City - Christian Headlines

A pastor in Chicago led a peaceful protest earlier this week, calling for an end to police brutality and racism. According to Religion News Service, Rev. Chris Harris, of Bright Star Church in Chicago, organized the peaceful demonstration in which other religious leaders also participated. "We showed them we can do it peacefully in Chicago," Harris said.

Rev. James Meeks, of Salem Baptist Church, also participated in the march. "It's so important that people of faith put their faith on display," Meeks said. "The Bible says faith without works is dead, and so we must have some works to go along with our faith."

The church's marketing and communications director, Jasmine Meeks, added that marches like the Chicago one show "unity" and "camaraderie. I think there's something important about unity, not only in the body of Christ, but just in numbers as well - the camaraderie, people get to bring their children and they get to be a part of something," she said. (Read more)

Scientists discover distant 'mirror image' of the Earth and the sun

Scientists have discovered a potentially habitable exoplanet and its star that are a "mirror image" of the Earth and the sun.

Experts from the Max Planck Institute for Solar System Research in Göttingen, Germany, led an international team of astronomers in the discovery of the exoplanet-star-pair.

Exoplanet KOI-456.04 is less than twice the size of Earth, but orbits a sun-like star, explains the Max Planck Institute, in a statement. The star is just over 3,000 light-years from the solar system.

The Good News Corner:

DNA Analysis on Dead Sea Scrolls Sheds Light on Their Secret Origin

After completing a grueling seven-year study on DNA samples taken from the Dead Sea Scroll fragments, Israeli researchers have unlocked new information about the origin story of the world's oldest known copies of Biblical texts.

The study reveals that some of the Dead Sea Scrolls are not from the Dead Sea where they are believed to have been written by an ancient Jewish sect called the Essenes. Instead, some were written far away from where they were found in Qumran.

Researchers made this breakthrough discovery by analyzing the DNA of the animal skin the scrolls were written on.

About Capitol Hill Prayer Partners

Our Mission Statement

Capitol Hill Prayer Partners (CHPP) is a ministry which is positioned on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., helping members of the Body of Christ to "pray for those in authority over us" in our federal government. Our primary purpose is to offer intercession on site for the members of Congress and their staffs each day that the Senate and the House of Representatives are in session; and our chief prayer focus is that "God's will be done in earth, as it is in heaven." [Matthew 6:10].

Because Jesus Christ has shed His blood for all, we, too, pray for ALL, in a nonpartisan manner. Also, because the scriptures indicate that "the effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" (James 4:17), we are confident that fervent prayer, offered in the halls of the highest chambers of government in our land, can avail much for America. Capitol Hill Prayer Partners welcomes those who feel called to join us, engaging in this strategic work of intercession for our nation: "For there is no power but of God; the powers that be are ordained of God." [Romans 13:1]

Reading the Bible Together

WELCOME TO OUR BIBLE READATHON!

"For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD as the waters cover the sea." (Habakkuk 2:14)

> > > Reading the Word of God over our nation, six nights per week!! ALL NIGHT LONG!

We are now reading the Word of God every night (except on Sunday mornings) from midnight to 6:00 a.m. EDT. We are reading through the whole Word, from Genesis to Revelation, and beginning again in Genesis when finished. [As of this writing, over the past three years, we have now "read through" the entire Word of God sixty-five times, nonstop. Hallelujah!]

Our numbers of readers continues to grow over time. All are welcome to join, as we use "the weapons of OUR warfare" to confront our enemy and BRING HIM DOWN through the LOVE of our Messiah and, by faith, setting captives free!

Our conference number is: 712-432-0075. The access code is: 206425#.

Please call at any time from midnight to 6:00 a.m. EST!
EVERYONE IS WELCOME TO JOIN OUR "WARFARE IN THE NIGHT", USING THE WEAPON OF HIS WARFARE - THE WORD OF GOD!

"For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart." (Hebrews 4:12)

> > > A footnote: 2020 has been declared "the Year of the Bible."

Hallelujah!!

Please join us as, together, we "soak the very atmosphere of our nation" in the WORD OF GOD!

In closing, let us decree together that . . .

"Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path." (Psalm 119:105)

AMEN!!

Reminder!

Our conference number is: 712-432-0075.
The access code is: 206425#.

And . . . once again . . . welcome!
