President Trump Honors Rosh HaShanah
Trump touts Middle East peace deals in Rosh Hashanah message to US Jews
US President Donald Trump lauded his administration's brokering of normalization agreements between Israel, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain in a Rosh Hashanah message to US Jews ahead of the holiday which begins on Friday evening.
"This year's High Holy Days come with a sense of optimism for the people of Israel, as my Administration continues to make great strides in securing a more stable, prosperous and peaceful Middle East region," the US president said in a statement.
"The First Lady and I wish our Jewish brothers and sisters Shana Tova and hope the millions observing this sacred day in America and around the world have a blessed start to the High Holy Days," the statement adds.
"As the High Holy Days begin, this momentous milestone in geopolitical relations is a reminder that we can create a coalition of nations that have shared goals of eliminating extremism and promoting security and prosperity, while also respecting religious freedom and building a more hopeful tomorrow for future generations." (Times of Israel) Read more.
- Heavenly Father, we thank You for President Trump and his support of Israel. We ask that You bless and protect him and his family. We ask that You guide his thoughts and actions, giving him discernment and wisdom. We pray that he would draw nearer to You in Spirit and Truth and seek a deeper walk with you every day. We ask these things in the name of Yeshua, amen.
- "The king's heart is like channels of water in the hand of the Lord; He turns it wherever He wishes." (Proverbs 21:1)

1. Qatar: Normalizing ties with Israel conditional on two-state solution - Israel National News
Qatar has no objection to normalizing ties with Israel if "the conditions are proper" and there is a commitment to a two-state solution between Israel and Palestinian Arabs, Qatar's ambassador to Washington Sheikh Meshal Bin Hamad Al-Thani told Voice of America radio.
"Qatar is part of the Arab Peace Initiative. We believe in a two-state solution for the Palestinians and in securing Israel's borders, and if these conditions are fulfilled, then we don't see any reason for Qatar to not normalize relations with Israel," said Al-Thani.
His comments came as the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain officially normalized relations with Israel during a signing ceremony Tuesday hosted by US President Donald Trump at the White House on Tuesday.
Despite ruling out complete normalization with Israel, Al-Thani told VOA that Qatar continues to mediate negotiations between the Israelis and the Palestinian Arabs, and it sends humanitarian relief to Gaza in coordination with Israel and the UN
2. Saudi royal family said divided over possible future ties with Israel - Times of Israel
The Saudi Arabian royal family is reportedly split over possible future ties with Israel following landmark agreements with the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, the Wall Street Journal reported Friday.
According to the report, King Salman bin Abdulaziz has come into conflict with his son, de facto leader Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, with the latter said to be in favor of the move.
The newspaper reported that the monarch remains committed to a boycott of Israel coupled with a strong stance in favor of the Palestinian demand for an independent state, while the crown prince is open to normalization with the Jewish state and the business opportunities it could bring as well as public coordination in the struggle against Iran.
3. Despite the lockdown, anti-gov't protests continue - Israel National News
Approximately 2,500 activists are taking part in anti-government protests across from the Prime Minister's residence in Jerusalem despite the latest nationwide coronavirus lockdown imposed last Friday. Police have placed barricades in the area to divide protesters into smaller groups according to Ministry of Health directives. The rally, itself, however, has yet to be sanctioned by the police department and demonstrators have removed the barriers, ignoring police directives.
Roads leading to the location of the protest including: Ben Maimon, Azza, Kikkar Paris, Agron, King George, and Keren Hayesod have been shut down to traffic.
At least one protester has already been arrested for using a megaphone to provide instructions for avoiding health directives.
4. Day into 2nd lockdown, Israel registers 30 new virus deaths in 24 hours - Times of Israel
Israel recorded 30 new deaths in 24 hours as the country's coronavirus death toll climbed to 1,226 on Saturday, a day into a second national lockdown.
The lockdown was largely respected Saturday, with the country's roads generally empty, as Israel marked the first of two days of Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year.
There were, however, reports of some gatherings disbanded by police. These included hundreds of worshipers at a synagogue in Haifa on both Friday and Saturday, who packed the entrance to the synagogue without complying with social distancing; and a small party of several dozen people at a Tel Aviv beach Saturday evening, who claimed to be protesting against the closure.
5. Temple Mount remains open despite nationwide coronavirus lockdown - Jerusalem Post
Officials from the Islamic Waqf, who are the custodians of the Aqsa Mosque located on the Temple Mount, expressed their displeasure on Friday with the coronavirus lockdown taking place throughout the country, as well as the government directives on social distancing, refusing to halt religious services due to the continued allowance of Jews to pray on the importance religious site, according to a Israel Hayom report.
The alleged refusal to close the site to all worshipers came following an apparent confirmation from Waqf officials that they would in fact close the area for three weeks in coordination with the Health Ministry's lockdown directive.
According to the report, Sheikh Najah Bakirat, the Waqf's deputy director, indicated to Palestinian media that the site should remain open to worshipers to "prevent attempts by 'the occupation' [a commonly used reference to Israel] to change the reality of the mosque."
The sheikh added in a statement to Palestinian media that Israel is attempting to slowly change the religious status quo on the important holy site until "the settlers" achieve their goal of building the [Third] Temple in the area.
The Daily Brief
1. McConnell says Senate will vote on Trump's nominee to fill Ruth Bader Ginsburg's Supreme Court seat - USA Today
President Donald Trump and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell signaled Friday they will move soon to start the politically fraught process of filling the Supreme Court vacancy left by the death of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. McConnell asserted shortly after Ginsburg's passing that he intended to bring a Trump nominee to the Senate floor for a vote. And a senior administration official, speaking on the condition of anonymity to reveal internal discussions, confirmed Trump intends to choose a nominee soon, though declined to discuss a specific timeline. "President Trump's nominee will receive a vote on the floor of the United States Senate," McConnell said. "Americans reelected our majority in 2016 and expanded it in 2018 because we pledged to work with President Trump and support his agenda, particularly his outstanding appointments to the federal judiciary," he added. "Once again, we will keep our promise."
Trump and McConnell talked about specific candidates in a phone call Friday night with McConnell, said two people familiar with the call, speaking on condition of anonymity to discuss a private conversation. But while Republicans may be eager to move quickly, the process is certain to get swept up in the divisive presidential election and the actual timeline could depend on the outcome of the November election. Several GOP senators have expressed reservations in the past about moving a confirmation so close to an election.
The vacancy has major implications for the court, handing Trump an opportunity to create a solidly conservative court perhaps for decades to come.
Trump was speaking at a campaign rally in Minnesota when news of Ginsburg's death broke. Afterward, he told reporters he she led an "amazing" life. "What else can you say? She was an amazing woman, whether you agree or not," Trump said. "She was an amazing woman who led an amazing life. I'm actually sad to hear that." (Read more)
- Righteous Father, we pray that President Trump follows through in creating a solidly conservative court to replace Justice Ginsburg. We ask in the Name of Jesus.
- "You are the God that does wonders: You have declared Your strength among the people." (Psalm 77)
2. McConnell confirms eight federal judges in three days, keeping his promise to 'leave no vacancy behind' - Washington Examiner
The Senate, led by Republican Sen. Mitch McConnell, confirmed eight federal judges in just three days as the Republicans' efforts to reshape the courts continue. Eight of President Trump's judicial nominees will take to the bench in California and Illinois as the total number of judges nominated by Trump and confirmed by the Senate reaches 216.
Disruptions caused by the coronavirus pandemic exacerbated a judicial emergency in the Central District of California. Each judge in the Central District Of California was responsible for nearly double the national average of cases prior to the pandemic, but officials say there will be a "significant backlog of trials" when the pandemic is over. The then-chief judge in the district sent a letter to the Senate Judiciary Committee and the White House asking Washington to speed up the process of appointing new judges.
Iain Johnston and Franklin Valderrama were confirmed to the Northern District of Illinois. Stephen McGlynn and David Dugan will sit on the bench in the Southern District of Illinois. John Holcomb, Stanley Blumenfeld, and Mark Scarsi are headed to the Central District of California, the most populated federal judicial district in the nation, which is headquartered in Los Angeles. Todd Robinson was confirmed to the Southern District of California.
In June, Trump broke a record after 200 of his nominees to the federal judiciary were confirmed by the Senate. There are currently 68 vacancies across the federal court system. The president has nominated candidates for 42 of those positions.
"When we depart this chamber today, there will not be a single circuit court vacancy anywhere in the nation for the first time in at least 40 years, " McConnell said ahead of the confirmation of Judge Justin Walker, Trump's 200th judge. "My motto for the year is 'leave no vacancy behind,'" McConnell told Hugh Hewitt in February. "That includes district courts as well. So, we're a long way from being finished with doing court confirmations this year." (Read more)
- Father God, we are so thankful that there is not a single circuit court vacancy in 40 years. We pray that President Trump will hear the Word of the Lord regarding all 42 confirmations. Give him great wisdom and assurance of God's leading. In the Name of Jesus we pray.
- "And I will establish My covenant with you; and you shall know that I am the Lord."(Ezekiel 16:62)
2a. BREAKING! Woman suspected of sending poisoned letter to Trump arrested- CNN
A woman suspected of sending a letter containing the poison ricin to President Donald Trump was arrested as she tried to enter the US from Canada at a border crossing in New York state, a US law enforcement official said.
The woman was carrying a gun and arrested by US authorities, according to the law enforcement official. US prosecutors in Washington, DC, are expected to bring charges against her.
A person familiar with the investigation told CNN's Josh Campbell the letter was mailed from St. Hubert, Quebec, and contained a granular substance with similar physical characteristics to ground castor beans. Two tests had been done to confirm the presence of ricin. All mail for the White House is sorted and screened at an offsite facility before reaching the White House. (Read more)
- Lord God Almighty, we praise You that this woman has been caught, and that the bag of ricin was intercepted before it reached the White House. We continue to lift up President Trump under Psalm 91, that he be protected every day and every night in all he does in his role as the President of the United States. Amen.
- "No weapon that is formed against you will prosper." (Isaiah 54:17)
3. 'Once we win, we'll take care of business': Trump says administration will handle any post-election violence -Washington Examiner
President Trump told conservative radio host Dan Bongino that his administration would "take care of business" if people who were unwilling to accept the results of a Trump victory on Election Day turned violent.
In an interview on Friday, Bongino asked Trump if his administration was concerned about "the potential for violence by people not willing to accept the results of the election."
"We want to win, and once we win, we'll take care of business," Trump replied. "We are winning now. We have polls - our polls show that we're winning in Wisconsin, we're winning in Arizona, and yet, the New York Times comes out with a poll that we're nine down. We're not nine down."
Democrats and Republicans have speculated about how the opposing candidate's supporters are likely to respond should their candidate lose. A report by the Transition Integrity Project, a group of bipartisan analysts, academics, and former campaign and government officials, predicted, among a slate of potential outcomes, that a close result could lead to street violence.
Fearing that violent demonstrations might worsen as Election Day draws near, Attorney General William Barr told federal prosecutors to consider charging protesters with plotting to overthrow the government, according to reports this week.
The Trump campaign is seeking to limit voting irregularities through poll watching and other measures. (Read more)
- Almighty God, we pray You dispatch myriads of angels to encircle all the "hot spots" where the adversaries are demonically planning to swarm over the victories of President Trump. Disable all his enemies. Cut off their funds, Father God. Quell all the intentions and plans of darkness against him. We pray in the Name of Jesus.
- "Blessed is that man that makes the Lord his trust, and respects not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies." (Psalm 40:4)
4. Michigan Judge Extends Deadline 2 Weeks for Mail-In Ballots Postmarked by November 2 - Breitbart News
Mail-in ballots postmarked by November 2 must be counted up to two weeks after the presidential election, a Michigan judge ruled this week. The ruling also authorizes the temporary use of ballot harvesting.
Michigan Court of Claims Judge Cynthia Stephens essentially extended the deadline for mail-in ballots to be counted, even if they arrive after the polls close on Election Day, which stood as the previous deadline. Stephens attributed her ruling to the impact of the Chinese coronavirus pandemic:
"The unrefuted affidavits and documents compel the conclusion that, in light of delays attributable to the COVID-19 pandemic, mail delivery has become significantly compromised, and the risk for disenfranchisement when a voter returns an absent voter ballot by mail is very real," Stephens stated in the lawsuit the Michigan Alliance for Retired Americans lodged.
The ruling also authorizes the use of ballot harvesting - allowing a third party to deliver the ballots, although it is confined to a specific timeframe. (Read more)
- Lord God, we pray that you would speak to the the republican controlled Michigan legislature that they must meet in emergency session and exercise their Article II power under the federal constitution and seize control over the election system. We come against all fraudulent attempts to steal the the rights away from the people of Michigan in Jesus name. Amen.
- "The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles." (Psalm 34:17)
5. Judge Orders School District to Halt Prayers, Bible Reading after ACLU Suit - Christian Headlines
A federal judge this week ordered a Tennessee school district and its employees not to participate in or pomote religion at school activities after the district acknowledged it had allowed certain religious expressions in violation of U.S. Supreme Court decisions. U.S. District Judge Waverly D. Crenshaw issued a permanent injunction Monday against the Smith County School System against school-led prayer and school-endorsed religious expression. The order was part of a "consent decree" - an injunction agreed to by the district.
Crenshaw's order came one year after the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Tennessee sued the school on behalf of two families who have children within the system. "Families should be making the decisions about whether and how to educate their children about religion, not public schools," said Hedy Weinberg, executive director of the ACLU of Tennessee. "Today's consent decree ensures that the Smith County schools will be focused on providing a quality education to all students, regardless of their religious beliefs.
. . . "Some of these practices and customs and others alleged in the Complaint (a) endorse and promote religion, (b) have the purpose or effect of advancing religion, and/or (c) coerce religious exercise either directly or indirectly, in violation of the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment," Crenshaw wrote. (Read more)
- Almighty God, we pray the ACLU will be torn apart in Tennessee, as God wages war against them. Redeem the Smith County School System out of the hands of dark-spirited leaders and remand every anti-prayer and anti-God decree back to religious freedom and new judges be confirmed. Speak a miracle over this school, Lord. In Jesus' Name we pray.
- "For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in it. But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth, and the transgressors shall be rooted out of it." (Proverbs 2:21-22)
6. Fires blazing in US West 'more devastating than anyone could have imagined' - JNS
Two Jewish federations on the West Coast have created emergency funds to help people severely impacted by the wildfires that have been raging across the western United States. More than 30 have died, while thousands have lost their homes as the fires have scorched millions of acres since blazes began erupting in August.
One of the hardest hit regions has been Oregon, where two towns in the southern part of the state-Phoenix and Talent-were virtually destroyed last week by a fire there. "Many Oregonians are suffering right now, whether displaces themselves or worried about loved ones, friends, neighbors, homes and communities," Oregon Gov. Kate Brown said on Sept. 13. "We're working collaboratively to throw everything we can at this crisis, bringing together local, state and federal capacity. We are doing everything we can to ensures that our heroic firefighters working around the clock to save lives and homes have the tools, resources and support they need." According to Marc Blattner, president and CEO of the Jewish Federation of Greater Portland, at least 27 Jewish families have lost their homes in the wildfires, and many others have had to evacuate.
Israeli firefighters arrived in California at the beginning of the month to help put out the flames, along with other nationalities. To date, the collective fires have burned 5 million acres of land and caused billions of dollars in damages. "The wildfire is a statewide issue and sadly will not go away tomorrow," he says. "We have reached out to Jewish organizations to see where people have evacuated to, and how they are doing and what they need. We've also asked Jewish buildings-synagogues, Jewish community centers-if they would be available to be evacuation shelters if needed." (Read more)
- Righteous God, we pray for Your intervention in this drastic situation. Call the entire state of Oregon to fall on their knees and pray to Almighty God for mercy and forgiveness of sin. Flood the land with a spirit of repentance as the people cry out to God. We pray in the Name of Jesus.
- "The Lord's righteousness is near; My salvation is gone forth, and My arms shall judge the people; the isles shall wait upon Me and on My arm shall they trust."
(Isaiah 51:5)
7. White House says five more countries seriously considering Israel deals - Reuters
White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows said on Thursday that five more countries are seriously considering striking a normalization deal with Israel after the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain signed accords this week. Meadows, speaking to reporters on Air Force One on the flight that carried President Donald Trump to a campaign rally in Wisconsin, would not identify the five nations. But he said three were in the region. He would not comment further.
Trump has spoken optimistically about more countries agreeing to a normalization of relations with Israel following the UAE and Bahrain deals. One possibility is Oman, whose ambassador attended the White House ceremony on Tuesday. Trump predicted on Tuesday that Saudi Arabia would eventually agree to a deal. (Read more)
- Almighty God, we pray You will protect Israel as these nations are considering a normalization deal with them. Give Prime Minister Netanyahu and President Trump wisdom as they move forward. In the Name of Jesus we pray.
- "God be merciful unto us, and bless us; and cause His face to shine upon us."
(Psalm 67:1)
8. Trump Administration Seeking Direct Israel-Lebanon Talks on Maritime Border - Algemeiner
The Trump administration is once again seeking direct talks between Israel and Lebanon on setting their maritime border - which could lead to a settlement of their dispute over lucrative natural gas fields located off their shores underneath the Mediterranean Sea, Axios reported on Friday. According to the Axios report, the administration would like for these negotiations to begin before the US presidential election in November.
No such talks have been held by Israel and Lebanon in three decades.
US Assistant Secretary of State for Near East Affairs David Schenker visited Israel this week and discussed the matter with top officials there. Schenker was also recently in Lebanon. An unnamed senior Israeli official told Axios, "There is progress. We see willingness on the Lebanese side to move and settle this dispute. We are ready to start talks immediately and we hope it can happen before the end of the year." (Read more)
- Father God, we pray You give President Trump godly wisdom as he addresses this sensitive issue. May he be informed from the beginning how the American oil/gas company in Houston, Texas first discovered this lucrative gas field in Israel. We stand by and support Israel. We pray in the Name of Jesus.
- "And that you may prolong your days in the land, which the Lord sware unto your fathers to give unto them and to their children, a land that flows with milk and honey. A land which the Lord your God provides for: the eyes of the Lord your God are always upon it, from the beginning of the year even unto the end of the year."
(Deuteronomy 11:9,12)
9. Trump says U.S. dealing well with 'tough,' 'smart' Taliban - Reuters
President Donald Trump on Friday complimented the Taliban for being tough and smart, and said the United States is dealing well with the Afghan militant group. The Taliban, whose rigid Islamist government was overthrown by U.S. forces which invaded Afghanistan a month after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, began peace negotiations with the Afghan government this week to end two decades of war. "We're dealing very well with the Taliban," Trump told a news conference. "They're very tough, they're very smart, they're very sharp, but you know it's been 19 years and even they are tired of fighting, in all fairness."
Trump, who is seeking re-election on Nov. 3, is eager to claim an end to America's longest conflict, and his administration has voiced its intention to use aid as leverage to push for a peace deal in Afghanistan. The United States is set to withdraw all its troops from Afghanistan by May 2021, subject to the Taliban meeting certain security guarantees.
Taliban and Afghan government peace negotiators held their first formal meeting on Tuesday in Doha, after an opening ceremony on Saturday which was attended by U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.(Read more)
- Father in heaven, we trust the Spirit of the Lord be in the midst of the dealings with the Taliban and Afghan government. We pray the peace deal go through and America's military are released to come back home. We pray in the Name of Jesus.
- "For God is my King of old, working salvation in the midst of the earth."
(Psalm 74:12)
10. Exclusive: Trump plans executive order to punish arms trade with Iran - Reuters
President Donald Trump plans to issue an executive order allowing him to impose U.S. sanctions on anyone who violates a conventional arms embargo against Iran, four sources familiar with the matter said on Thursday. The sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the executive order was expected to be issued in the coming days and would allow the president to punish violators with secondary sanctions, depriving them of access to the U.S. market.
The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The proximate cause for the U.S. action is the impending expiry of a U.N. arms embargo on Iran and to warn foreign actors - U.S. entities are already barred from such trade - that if they buy or sell arms to Iran they will face U.S. sanctions. Under the 2015 nuclear deal that Iran struck with six major powers - Britain, China, France, Germany, Russia and the United States - the U.N. conventional arms embargo is to set to expire on Oct. 18, shortly before the Nov. 3 U.S. election.
The United States, which abandoned the nuclear deal in May 2018, says it has triggered a "snap back," or resumption, of all U.N. sanctions on Iran, including the arms embargo, which would take effect at 8 p.m. on Saturday night or 0000 GMT on Sunday. Other parties to the nuclear deal and most of the U.N. Security Council have said they do not believe the United States has the right to reimpose the U.N. sanctions and that the U.S. move at the United Nations has no legal effect.
"It is obvious that none of the Security Council members have accepted the eligibility of U.S. claims," said Alireza Miryousefi, spokesman for Iran's mission to the United Nations, adding that the nuclear deal remains in place and all sanctions on Iran will be lifted in under the time-lines agreed in 2015. Trump's executive order is intended to show that the United States will not be deterred despite failing to win broader U.N. Security Council backing "snap back," said one of the four sources, (Read more)
- Father God, we pray You empower President Trump to issue an executive order that will allow him to punish violators with secondary sanctions, depriving them of access to the U.S. market. Close off the power of the Security Council members that they become less intense and rigorous against President Trump and the U.S. We pray in the Name of Jesus.
- "Blessings are upon the head of the just; but violence covers the mouth of the wicked." (Proverbs 10:6)
11. Taiwan scrambles jets as 18 Chinese planes buzz during U.S. visit - Reuters
Taiwan scrambled fighter jets on Friday as 18 Chinese aircraft buzzed the island, crossing the sensitive midline of the Taiwan Strait, in response to a senior U.S. official holding talks in Taipei. China had earlier announced combat drills and denounced what it called collusion between the island, which it claims as part of its territory, and the United States.
U.S. Undersecretary for Economic Affairs Keith Krach arrived in Taipei on Thursday for a three-day visit, the most senior State Department official to come to Taiwan in four decades - to which China had promised a "necessary response." The U.S. State Department has said Krach, who arrived in Taipei on Thursday afternoon, is in Taiwan for a memorial service on Saturday for former President Lee Teng-hui, who was revered by many on the island and internationally as the father of Taiwan's democracy.
But Beijing has watched with growing alarm the ever-closer relationship between Taipei and Washington, and has stepped up military exercises near the island, including two days of large-scale air and sea drills last week. Taiwan said 18 Chinese aircraft were involved on Friday, far more than in previous such encounters and entered its southwest air defense identification zone (ADIZ).
With a U.S. presidential election looming in November, Sino-U.S. relations are already under huge strain from a trade war, U.S. digital security concerns and the coronavirus pandemic. (Read more)
- Father God, we pray You lessen the tensions between the U.S. and mainland China. Send forth Your myriad of angels to surround all anti-American activities by China that they be pulled down. Curtail their aircraft with meltdowns rendering them inoperative. Give America inside information of all of China's insidious plans against us. In the Name of Jesus we pray, amen.
- "I the Lord will gather you, and blow upon you in the fire of my wrath, and you shall be melted in the midst thereof." (Ezekiel 22:21)
A Proclamation by President Trump
Proclamation on the Death of Ruth Bader Ginsburg
Ruth Bader Ginsburg was an inspiration to all Americans. Having lost her older sister and mother before graduating high school, she entered law school as both a wife and a mother, and one of the few women in her class. After graduating from law school in 1959, she worked tirelessly for more than 34 years as a litigator and jurist and, in 1993, she became just the second woman to sit on the Supreme Court of the United States.
Renowned for her powerful dissents at the Supreme Court, Justice Ginsburg epitomized powerful yet respectful argument; that you can disagree with someone without being disagreeable to them. Justice Ginsburg's work helped bring about greater equality for women, secure rights for the disabled, and will continue to influence our Nation for generations to come.
In addition to her quick mind, she brought flair to the bench with her stylish jabots and her warm friendships among colleagues, even those with whom she often disagreed, most notably with the late Justice Antonin Scalia.
A fighter to the end, Justice Ginsburg defeated cancer and the odds numerous times - all while continuing to serve on the Court. Her commitment to the law and her fearlessness in the face of death inspired countless "RBG" fans, and she continues to serve as a role model to countless women lawyers. Her legacy and contribution to American history will never be forgotten.
As a mark of respect for Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Associate Justice of the United States, I hereby order, by the authority vested in me by the Constitution and laws of the United States of America, including section 7 of title 4, United States Code, that the flag of the United States shall be flown at half-staff at the White House and on all public buildings and grounds, at all military posts and naval stations, and on all naval vessels of the Federal Government in the District of Columbia and throughout the United States and its Territories and possessions until sunset, on the day of interment. I also direct that the flag shall be flown at half-staff for the same period at all United States embassies, legations, consular offices, and other facilities abroad, including all military facilities and naval vessels and stations.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this eighteenth day of September, in the year of our Lord two thousand twenty, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and forty-fifth.
Donald John Trump

Fill the seat Mr. President
There is a lot of hoopla about whether President Trump should fill the Supreme Court vacancy left by the death of Ruth Bader Ginsberg. Of course, he should. And the Senate should not unreasonably withhold consent. This is the Constitutional mandate and it was a large part of the reason Trump was elected. Let us recall that during the previous presidential election that it was pointed out by both sides that Trump could possibly appoint three Supreme Court judges and change the balance of the court. Leftists were aghast at the thought; conservatives embraced the opportunity. As we stand today, the leftists have lost on this one, but not before they will try every trick in the book to stall the appointment.
Article II Section 2 Clause 2 of the Constitution refers to the appointment of Supreme Court justices; "and he [The President] shall nominate, and by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, shall appoint Ambassadors, other public Ministers and Consuls, Judges of the supreme Court, and all other Officers of the United States, whose Appointments are not herein otherwise provided for, and which shall be established by Law. . ." Now then, "advice and consent of the Senate" is what we will see yet another war of words between the news media, Democrats and Republicans. It has begun. And it is vicious.
Leftist filmmaker Michael Moore has called for protests in the streets as a run up to "throwing Trump out of office." He also suggested that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) shut down the government until after the election. This is the rhetoric that appeals to those ignorant people who support the leftist ideals of those like Moore and his buddies in Congress. Pelosi has nothing to do with Supreme Court Justice selection. Pelosi, however, is not beyond trying to block the appointment. She told ABC's "This Week" that she has arrows in her quiver that she was not going to discuss just yet, but many believe that Pelosi will start another round of impeachment hearings against Trump if he presses forward on the nominee.

Dear Friends,
The liberal fake media claim that the next Supreme Court nominee must secure fifty votes for confirmation. That's not true. Under the Constitution and Senate rules, a nominee to the U.S. Supreme Court can be confirmed presently with 50, 49, 48, or even 47 Senate votes.
This is especially important now, because a few Republican Senators are indicating they do not want to vote.
While we are not yet in the Senate confirmation phase, it remains essential to understand this "confirmation math" so that we don't unnecessarily promote a risky stealth nominee under the false belief that we need 50 Republican Senators.
We can confirm a nominee with as little as 47 votes because there is a difference between a "No" Vote and simply "Not Voting."
Our next Supreme Court nominee will not be confirmed by a majority of Senators, but by a majority of Senators voting, with Vice President Mike Pence breaking any ties. Therefore, if 100 Senators vote, a majority is 51. If 94 Senators vote, a majority is 47.
Senator Susan Collins says we should not vote on a nominee. The logical result of her statement is that she would . . . "not vote."
Now, let's consider the math. There are 53 Republican Senators, and for sake of the below examples, we'll assume that all 47 Democrat Senators are present and voting "no:"
1. If 2 Republican Senators do not vote, then the number of Senators voting is 98, and a majority of 98 is 49. Therefore, with 51 Republicans voting, a nominee could still be confirmed with 2 more Republicans voting "no," 49 Republicans voting "yes" and the Pence breaking the tie.
2. If 4 Republican Senators do not vote, then the number of Senators voting is 96, and a majority of 96 is 48. Therefore, with 49 Republicans voting, a nominee could still be confirmed with 1 more Republicans voting "no," 48 Republicans voting "yes" and the Pence breaking the tie.
3. If 6 Republican Senators do not vote, then the number of Senators voting is 94, and a majority of 94 is 47. Therefore, with 47 Republicans voting, a nominee could still be confirmed with 0 more Republicans voting "no," 47 Republicans voting "yes" and the Pence breaking the tie.
Clearly, a nominee can be confirmed with less than 50 votes. Of course, the fake liberal media, Democrat Senators and their "peaceful protestors" on the street, will whine that the above scenarios are unfair. They may even threaten to riot, take over city blocks, fire-bomb buildings. Democrat Senators may threaten to remove the legislative filibuster, create four more Supreme Courts seats, and pack the court.
But wait, they've already threatened to do that regardless, so their present threats really add nothing new to the mix. Therefore, conservatives can disregard their threats and proceed with all Constitutional and legal means available to place the absolute best prospect on the Supreme Court for the next thirty to forty years.
I believe President Trump and Leader McConnell will go bold. They did it four years ago and have a great track record. When Trump and McConnell go bold with a nominee with a long-term record of courage, conservatism and a constitutional judicial philosophy, we have a moral duty to match that boldness and run to the battle with the combined conviction, zeal, and wisdom of King David, Joan of Arc, and General George Washington combined.

Lay Siege to the Adversary
SOUND THE SHOFAR
LAY SIEGE TO THE ADVERSARY
9/16/20
Shalom Praying Friends,
Our adversary, satan and his demonic forces, working through human hosts has declared to lay siege against this nation the United States of America and the White House in Washington DC. Please note I continue to describe our nation as "United" and not divided. We shall declare a matter and it shall be established before us! Job 22:28
The New Oxford American Dictionary describes the adversary as
"one's opponent in a contest, conflict, or dispute." A siege is described as "a military operation in which enemy forces surround a town or building, cutting off essential supplies, with the aim of compelling the surrender of those inside."
I am compelled by the Spirit of the Lord to declare to you that it shall not happen and the adversary will surrender to the greater force of the Word of God!
I will not belabor the point but entreat you to join me in prayer now! Sound your shofar (you are human shofars) and lay siege to the adversary!

Hurricanes and fires across US revealed
in NASA satellite image
Hurricanes and wildfires across the U.S. have been revealed in an image captured by NASA's Aqua satellite.
The satellite captured the true-color image on Sept. 15, according to the space agency, which noted "the fires in the West, the smoke from those fires drifting over the country, several hurricanes converging from different angles, and Hurricane Sally making landfall."
Sally sloshed ashore Wednesday morning on the Gulf Coast as a Category 2 hurricane. It has since weakened to a tropical depression but is moving across the South, dumping rain. The hurricane has caused at least two deaths.
Wildfires devastating the western U.S. can also be clearly seen in the satellite image.
"Red points in the west note areas that are significantly higher in temperature than the areas around it and are indicative of fires," NASA explained in the statement, which was released Sept. 16.
The remarkable image captured four hurricanes and tropical storms in both the East and the West.

Hero Officer Saves Infant Locked Inside Hot SUV
Leaving a baby or animal in a car when it's hot out is not always an act of intentional disregard. There are still those people who make very poor judgment calls, and it's easy to lambast them for their carelessness, but time and again, well-meaning parents have lost their children when their routines are shifted or they think someone else is caring for the baby.
Sadly, in either case, the intention doesn't matter and the result is tragically the same - but the latter instance is much more haunting because it could happen to any of us.
In August, one such instance allegedly took place when a good Samaritan in Duncanville, Texas, spotted a baby left in a hot car. The good Samaritan reported the baby appeared to be sleeping, which was even more concerning. (Patriot Latest News) Read more.

About Capitol Hill Prayer Partners
Our Mission Statement
Capitol Hill Prayer Partners (CHPP) is a ministry which is positioned on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., helping members of the Body of Christ to "pray for those in authority over us" in our federal government. Our primary purpose is to offer intercession on site for the members of Congress and their staffs each day that the Senate and the House of Representatives are in session; and our chief prayer focus is that "God's will be done in earth, as it is in heaven." [Matthew 6:10].
Because Jesus Christ has shed His blood for all, we, too, pray for ALL, in a nonpartisan manner. Also, because the scriptures indicate that "the effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" (James 4:17), we are confident that fervent prayer, offered in the halls of the highest chambers of government in our land, can avail much for America. Capitol Hill Prayer Partners welcomes those who feel called to join us, engaging in this strategic work of intercession for our nation: "For there is no power but of God; the powers that be are ordained of God." [Romans 13:1]
