The Daily Brief

1. Arizona certifies Biden’s narrow victory over Trump - AP News

Arizona officials certified the state’s election results on Monday, formalizing Democrat Joe Biden’s narrow victory over Donald Trump even as the Republican president’s attorneys continued to make baseless claims of fraud about the state’s vote count.

Democratic Secretary of State Katie Hobbs and Republican Gov. Doug Ducey both vouched for the integrity of the election before signing off on the results.

“We do elections well here in Arizona. The system is strong,” Ducey said. He did not directly address Trump’s claims of irregularities but said the state pulled off a successful election with a mix of in-person and mail voting despite the pandemic.

Elections challenges brought by the Trump campaign or his backers in key battleground states have largely been unsuccessful as Trump continues to allege voter fraud while refusing to concede.

2. Joe Biden scheduled to get first intelligence briefing Monday - Huffington Post

President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris are scheduled to have their first daily presidential intelligence briefing Monday after a nearly four-week delay triggered by Donald Trump’s challenges to the election results.

After the briefing Biden, plans to meet with his advisers, Reuters reported. Ever since Richard Nixon won the 1968 election, presidents-elect have been quickly included in the Daily Presidential Brief, often the day after the election — until now, reported Bloomberg.

The process was held up in part this time because of lengthier vote counts due to the large number of mail-in ballots amid the COVID-19 pandemic. But the delay grew as Trump and his campaign filed lawsuit after lawsuit to hold up result certifications and demanded recounts.
Critics complained that Trump’s delaying tactics to slow the transition to a Biden administration threatened national security.

3. Blinken, Flournoy's firm told clients how to score business deals with China
- Just The News

Two potential Biden administration Cabinet members have touted their ability while in the private sector to help clients navigate U.S. government regulations while doing business with communist-led China.

Antony Blinken, who Democrat Joe Biden picked as his nominee for secretary of state, is cofounder and managing partner in a strategic advisory firm with Michele Flournoy, who is widely handicapped as the next secretary of defense. The firm, WestExec Advisors, claims to offer high-end clients "unparalleled expertise" on various factors pertaining to international business deals.

The group's website offers what reads like private access to a dream team of intelligence and security insiders. The company's summaries of successful work include projects that appear to help clients deal with Beijing while not drawing ire from U.S. national security authorities.

4. Trump raises at least $150 million since Election Day, as supporters back election litigation - Just The News

President Trump has raised at least $150 million since Election Day nearly one month ago, according to multiple news reports. The donations have poured in, as the Trump campaign continues to solicit donations to fuel its legal efforts in several key states to uncover voter fraud and overturn the results of the election.

The campaign has raised as much as $170 million, according to The New York Times, while other news outlets have reported an amount at closer to $150 million. Either amount is approximately equivalent to the numbers coming in to the campaign coiffures at the height of the president's reelection bid.

The Times also reports that 75% of each donation will go to a new political action committee established by Trump and his staff called "Save America." The other 25% will go to the Republican National Committee.

5. Barr: No evidence of fraud that’d change election outcome -
AP News

Attorney General William Barr said Tuesday the Justice Department has not uncovered evidence of widespread voter fraud that would change the outcome of the 2020 presidential election.

His comments come despite President Donald Trump’s repeated claims that the election was stolen, and his refusal to concede his loss to President-Elect Joe Biden.

In an interview with The Associated Press, Barr said U.S. attorneys and FBI agents have been working to follow up specific complaints and information they’ve received, but they’ve uncovered no evidence that would change the outcome of the election.

--Precious Lord, we pray that You would give unique strategies to President Trump's lawyers to be able to outmaneuver the plans of the enemy to steal this election. 6. Trump’s Georgia Lawyer Letter Demands Audit of up to 45,000 Ballot Signatures - Epoch Times

One of President Donald Trump’s lawyers in Georgia is asking for the audit of as many as 45,000 ballot signatures that were allegedly illegally cast in the state. Trump lawyer Ray S. Smith, in a letter (pdf) to Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensberger, said that an “immediate audit” of signatures is necessary, according to a news release.

“The Trump Campaign estimates that between 38,250 and 45,626 illegal votes from the absentee ballots alone were cast in the state of Georgia – far beyond the Biden-Harris ticket’s current margin of 12,670 votes,” the news release stated.

Smith concluded that it’s impossible for the secretary of state’s office to certify the results of the presidential race between Trump and Democrat Joe Biden unless a “thorough audit” of signatures is carried out. He noted that the campaign made the request four previous times in writing but was rejected.

-We thank You, Father, for this additional member of the House who is more likely to vote for those things that are more pleasing to You. 7. Rep. Mike Garcia wins California's 25th Congressional District
- Washington Examiner

California Republican Rep. Mike Garcia cemented his place as the congressman for the 25th Congressional District after his opponent Democratic Assemblywoman Christy Smith conceded Monday night.

After four weeks of canvassing, every vote has been counted. Both Los Angeles County and Ventura County have officially certified the race today and have declared me the victor," Garcia said in a statement. "I am once again honored to represent CA-25 during this pivotal time in our country’s history."

Nearly one month after election night, absentee ballots in counties around the district were counted, but Smith could not make up a 339-ballot deficit to beat Garcia.

8. Arizona Lawmakers Call for Resolution to Hold Back Electoral College Votes - Epoch Times

At a public hearing in Arizona with select members of the state legislature and members of President Donald Trump’s legal team, lawmakers called for their colleagues to support an upcoming resolution that would delay the release of the state’s Electoral College votes.

Arizona state Rep. Mark Finchem told reporters during the Nov. 30 hearing that they hope to have a resolution “within the next 24 to 48 hours.” The state holds 11 Electoral College votes.

“We are clawing our Electoral College votes back, we will not release them,” Finchem said. “That’s what I’m calling on our colleagues in both the House and Senate to do—exercise our plenary authority under the U.S. Constitution. “There is a legal brief out there that says we are not tethered to state statute when it comes to this one question.”

- Father God, we ask that the truth reign in Arizona. May the lawmakers have favor with You and man in order to pass a resolution to delay the release of AZ’s electoral votes, until all court cases are totally and honestly resolved. 9. Wisconsin certifies Joe Biden as winner following recount - AP News

Joe Biden’s victory in battleground Wisconsin was certified Monday following a partial recount that only added to his 20,600-vote margin over President Donald Trump, who has promised to file a lawsuit seeking to undo the results.

Gov. Tony Evers, a Democrat, signed a certificate that completed the process after the canvass report showing Biden as the winner following the recount was approved by the chairwoman of the bipartisan Wisconsin Elections Commission. Evers’ signature was required by law and is typically a procedural step that receives little attention.

“Today I carried out my duty to certify the November 3rd election,” Evers said in a statement. “I want to thank our clerks, election administrators, and poll workers across our state for working tirelessly to ensure we had a safe, fair, and efficient election. Thank you for all your good work.”

The action Monday now starts a five-day deadline for Trump to file a lawsuit, which he promised would come no later than Tuesday. Trump is mounting a longshot attempt to overturn the results by disqualifying as many as 238,000 ballots. Trump’s attorneys have alleged without evidence that there was widespread fraud and illegal activity.

— We are on our faces before You, Almighty God. We beseech You to open the way, where there seems to be none, to a victory for truth and righteousness in Wisconsin. You are well able to overturn judgements that are fraught with deceit, bought with bribes of power and money and use of threats and blackmail. We continue to stand in this quest for truth, knowing the battle is Yours!!!

10. Uncertainty reigns in Supreme Court during arguments on Trump census memo - Washington Examiner

Skepticism emerged Monday as the Supreme Court heard oral arguments on a case that will determine whether President Trump has the authority to exclude undocumented immigrants from population figures used to determine House apportionment and federal funding to states.

The court appeared wary of approving any broad exclusion of undocumented immigrants but wasn't ready to throw its weight behind the plaintiffs either. Several justices questioned whether New York, the ACLU, and other groups that opposed the plan had sufficient standing to bring the case before the court before it was clear how exactly states would be affected — if at all.

"Career experts at the Census Bureau confirmed with me that they still don't know even roughly how many illegal aliens they will be able to identify, let alone how their number and geographic concentration may affect apportionment," said Jeffrey Wall, the acting U.S. solicitor general.

- Righteous Judge and Father, we ask for Your holy wisdom to be imparted to the Supreme Court Justices as they finalize this census verdict before the end of 2020. May their decision reflect Your wishes regarding the U.S. Census. Just as You know the number of hairs on our head, you know the exact count of illegals in our nation and the destiny You plan for each one. May they not be used for political purposes. Speak to the Judges in the night; teach them Your ways.

- For the Lord is our judge, the Lord is our lawgiver, the Lord is our king; it is He who will save us! (Isaiah 33:22)

The Daily Jot

This Present Darkness

by Bill Wilson, Wednesday, December 2, 2020

People say that politics and religion don’t mix, but we are experiencing a classic case in America where politics may dictate religious freedom. Liberals, especially the radical ones, are generally against expression of religious freedom because it gets in the way of their brand of “science,” or even deeper, their worldview that they know better than God’s position against sin and certain sinful groups. This is why history informs how despotic regimes (dictators, communists, socialists) shut down religion. Their lips speak that religion is for the closed-minded and weak, and they waste no time in persecuting Christians and Jews for their freedom of thought—which that freedom is the very threat to despotism.

In China, Christians and Muslims are persecuted without restraint. There is documentation that their houses are bulldozed, they are beaten and imprisoned. Those are the fortunate ones. Others are put into slave camps. Still others are held on organ farms until such time as they are executed and their organs are sold for profit. As written by human rights activist Anastasia Lin in a June 23, 2019 article in the New York Post: “Hundreds of thousands of people have been murdered and had their organs harvested since the practice was industrialized in 2000. The victims were Chinese citizens who wanted nothing more than to practice their beliefs in peace. Instead, they were killed by their government on an industrial scale.”

In Nigeria, Muslim terrorist groups such as the Boko Haram and their henchmen in the Fulani tribe frequently burn Christian villages, while raping, maiming and torturing those who they capture. In Islamic countries, it is common practice to persecute Christians and Jews to the point of extinction, if possible. Open Doors, an activist organization fighting Christian persecution reports that in “just the last year” over 260 MILLION Christians experience high levels of persecution; 2,983 Christians have been killed for their faith; 9,488 churches and other Christian buildings were attacked; and 3,711 believers were detained without trial, arrested or imprisoned for their faith. These are all examples of what could happen in America.

Here in America, we are fortunate to have rights guaranteed by our Constitution of freedom of religion and speech. Notwithstanding, those who hate God, hate Christians and, as Jesus said in Matthew 7:16, “You will know them by their fruits.” They put anti-Christian planks in their platform. While being the first ones to put up a sign in their yard saying “Hate doesn’t live here,” they are also the first ones to spew hate against those of faith. They call names, label with hateful labels, and attack in the media and, lately, physically. Persecution is coming because of the content of people’s hearts and the politics that empowers that dreadful content. Let us forever stand in the gap against the tyranny of Satan, and his Marxist tools.

Classic Hymns

Sweet Hour of Prayer
"Pray without ceasing."  1 Thessalonians 5:17

To listen to this classic hymn please GO HERE

Words by William Walford, 1845.
Music by William B. Bradbury, 1861.

Lyrics
Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!
That calls me from a world of care,
And bids me at my Father’s throne
Make all my wants and wishes known.
In seasons of distress and grief,
My soul has often found relief
And oft escaped the tempter’s snare
By thy return, sweet hour of prayer!

Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!
The joys I feel, the bliss I share,
Of those whose anxious spirits burn
With strong desires for thy return!
With such I hasten to the place
Where God my Savior shows His face,
And gladly take my station there,
And wait for thee, sweet hour of prayer!

Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!
Thy wings shall my petition bear
To Him whose truth and faithfulness
Engage the waiting soul to bless.
And since He bids me seek His face,
Believe His Word and trust His grace,
I’ll cast on Him my every care,
And wait for thee, sweet hour of prayer!

Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!
May I thy consolation share,
Till, from Mount Pisgah’s lofty height,
I view my home and take my flight:
This robe of flesh I’ll drop and rise
To seize the everlasting prize;
And shout, while passing through the air,
Farewell, farewell, sweet hour of prayer!
