A House resolution from Illinois Democrat Rep. Bobby Rush that would put Big Government in charge of tracking citizens' movements as they relate to COVID-19 mitigation efforts - even sending health bureaucrats to "individuals' residences," "as necessary," as the legislation states - has a most apt number: 6666.
Mark of the beast. Mark of the beast for a beastly, monstrously unconstitutional bill.
After all, what's more devilishly un-American than launching one of the most massive government surveillance programs of private citizens in U.S. history, all under the guise of protecting people from the coronavirus? (Washington Times)
. . . A petition at Change.org to stop the nonsense has generated about 28,000 signatures. That's pitifully low.
"HR 6666 violates inalienable rights to one's person, home and property, to one's life, freedoms, privacy and security," the petition states. "It is a violation of the Fourth Amendment, as well as the First, Fifth, Eighth and Ninth amendments . . . It is an illegal act of forced medical treatment upon We the People and an invasion into our local communities . . . [it] grants the [feds] broad authority as to empower any 'entity' . . . to hunt down people with no reasonable suspicion of threat to public health . . . HR 6666 is unconstitutional, unacceptable and unlawful."

1. Rabbis Agree: This Year's Unprecedented Jewish Holiday of Bonfires Will "Burn Away" Coronavirus - Breaking Israel News
Normally a holiday of massive public gatherings and huge bonfires, the holiday of Lag Ba'Omer on Monday night will be celebrated in corona style, with families isolated inside their homes and bonfires, even modest backyard cookouts, entirely proscribed. But it is precisely the unique aspect of this year's incarnation that some rabbis see as indicating the beginnings of redemption.
On Monday night, Jews around the world will be celebrating the holiday of Lag Ba'Omer, the 33rd day of counting the seven complete weeks between Passover when a barley wave offering was presented in the Temple, and culminating in the holiday of Shavuot when an offering of two loaves of wheat bread was brought in the Temple. Classified as a minor holiday, acts normally forbidden on the Sabbath and holidays are permitted. The name of the holiday is derived from its position in the counting of the Omer since 'Lag' is spelled by the two Hebrew letters lamed and gimel, which in gematria (Hebrew numerology) equal 33.
Jews are commanded to orally count the days in this period which is generally a period of lessened joy when weddings and other celebrations are forbidden. Ironically, it is a celebration commemorating the death of Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai, a Jewish sage from the second century, known by the acronym Rashbi and who, according to tradition, wrote the Zohar, the basis of Kabbalah (Jewish mysticism). Normally, the passing of tzaddikim (holy men) is a source of sadness but, before passing away, the Rashbi instructed his students to remember his passing as a day of joy.

2. Yamina demands 2 ministries with 'real impact' - Israel National News
The Yamina party stated Monday evening that it is demanding two ministries in order to join the unity government and not three as has been reported in the media.
"Unlike the Likud spins, Yamina never asked for three portfolios, because we do not want to be honored, but two ministries with real influence, in addition to influence in the Knesset and in the state, illegal infiltrators, and the world of law and settlement," said Yamina.
The party added that "the prime minister knows exactly that, and yet chose to place her right in influential positions."
Channel 13 News reported that Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu offered to Rabbi Rafi Peretz to split the Yamina party, join the government and be appointed deputy minister at the Jerusalem Ministry.
The proposal was passed on to Peretz by Mordechai Benita, the Jerusalem Ministry Director General, and a well-known Likud activist. According to the report, Rabbi Peretz refused the proposal and made it clear that the Yamina party would not split. Likud spokesman Naor Yahya commented: "This is Fake News. The person in question is not involved in negotiations.''

3. Caroline Glick: The 'legal' landmine on the road to sovereignty - World Israel News
There is a landmine on the road to Israeli sovereignty over parts of Judea and Samaria. It must be defused before it blows up Israel's efforts to secure its national interests and takes President Donald Trump's peace plan, and U.S.-Israel relations, along with it.
The landmine is not an actual explosive charge but the clique of unelected lawyers at the top of Israel's legal system. Members of the clique have arrogated the power of the government to themselves to advance their radical, legally unsupported political views about Judea and Samaria.
Since 1967, the State of Israel has carefully left its position on the legal status of Judea and Samaria ambiguous to avoid unnecessary confrontations. At the same time, Israel has assiduously refused to make any concessions about its actual sovereign rights to the areas.
Since 1967, Israel has administered the areas through a military government and even agreed to do so in accordance with the prescriptions of the Geneva Accords and Hague Convention. However, as the military advocate general during the 1967 Six-Day War and later Supreme Court president Meir Shamgar said at the time and throughout the intervening years, Israel has acted out of goodwill, not legal compulsion.

4. Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan to Become Israel's Next UN and US Ambassador - Jewish Press
Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan agreed Monday to a proposal by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to serve as Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations and Israeli Ambassador to the United States as well.
"I am proud and moved by the privilege of struggling for the justice of our cause in the international arena and defending Israel in the face of the expected challenges in the coming years," Erdan said in a statement released Monday night.
The prime minister thanked Minister Erdan and said he "looks forward to continued cooperation between them on important missions for the State of Israel in the years ahead," according to a statement released by the Prime Minister's Office.

5. Israel Reveals: Iran Hacked US Pharmaceutical Company on Brink of Coronavirus Cure - Breaking Israel News
Recent reports revealed that Gilead Sciences, one of the frontrunners in the race to provide a treatment for COVID-19, was targeted by repeated attempts at cyberattacks carried out by Iranian hackers.
The Iranian cyberattacks were uncovered by ClearSky, an Israeli firm. Ohad Zaidenberg, lead intelligence researcher at ClearSky, told Reuters that the attempt was part of an effort by an Iranian group to compromise email accounts of staff at the company using messages that impersonated journalists.
The web domains and servers used by the hacking group were linked to Iran, but it wasn't clear what the hackers' motives were, or if they had any connections to Iran's government. The Iranian hacking group, called "Charming Kitten," usually focuses on hacking journalists and human rights groups, ClearSky's Ohad Zaidenberg told Ynet.
"Last week we discovered that they are acting against the infrastructure of the American research institute Gilead, and we determined that they are trying to hurt other research bodies that are dealing with coronavirus, including in Israel," Zaidenberg said.

1. White House considers more coronavirus aid as jobs picture worsens - Reuters
The White House has begun informal talks with Republicans and Democrats in Congress about what to include in another round of coronavirus relief legislation, officials said on Sunday, while predicting further U.S. jobs losses in the coming months.
Officials in President Donald Trump's administration, including Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and White House economic adviser Larry Kudlow, said they were holding discussions with lawmakers on issues including potential aid to states whose finances have been devastated by the pandemic.
Another White House economic adviser, Kevin Hassett, said future legislation could include food aid to help Americans struggling with hunger amid widespread job losses that have ruined the finances of many people. It also could include broadband access for those who lack it, Hassett added.
While Democrats, who control the House of Representatives, are moving to unveil new legislation as early as this week, the White House signaled it is in no hurry to pass another relief bill. (Read more)

2. YIKES: White House Advisor Says Unemployment Rate Could Rise Above 20% - Daily Wire
White House economic adviser Kevin Hassett told CBC's "Face the Nation" on Sunday that he believes the unemployment rate could rise above 20% if the coronavirus-related lockdowns, which are now keeping millions of Americans out of work, continue for more than a few more weeks.
On Thursday, the Department of Labor revealed that more than 30 million Americans are now applying for unemployment insurance, that the unemployment rate is now a staggering 14.7%, and that nearly all gains in the job market in the last decade have been wiped out in the two months of coronavirus-related lockdowns, giving rise to the worst American unemployment numbers since the end of World War II.
Payroll numbers declined by 20.5%, ABC News reports, marking the "worst month of job losses in U.S. history." Hassett says he fears the economic toll of the virus could be even worse and that unemployment numbers are an unreliable measure of how many Americans are truly out of work.
"Right now, looking across the U.S., there are more than 30 million people that are getting initial claims from unemployment insurance, and that's the biggest negative shock to the jobs market that we've seen since World War II," Hassett said. (Read more)

3. KT McFarland: 'Russia Hoax' Devised to Cover Up 'Something Very Big' - Newsmax
Members of the Obama administration and FBI officials knew there was no collusion between President Donald Trump, his 2016 campaign, and Russia from the beginning, but still dragged the country and the president's administration into three and a half years of perpetuating the hoax, former Deputy National Security Adviser K.T. McFarland said Monday.
"They knew there was no Russia collusion," McFarland, who served under Flynn during the first four months of the Trump administration, told Fox News' "Fox and Friends," adding that their distraction let China get stronger.
"They knew well before the Mueller investigation that there was no 'there' there," she said. "They wanted to deflect attention [from] something very big. I don't know what it was that they were trying to cover up, but they went to enormous lengths to cover it up. It's very clear it wasn't just a few rogue agents at the FBI. This is not done by some mid-level government official in the Justice Department or the FBI. It was the highest levels of the FBI."
She said that she doesn't know if the Obama administration and FBI leaders really had thought Flynn, a retired three-star general, had colluded with Russia, but she claimed that the investigation was a "plot from the very beginning."
"You know, the last words that Gen. Michael Flynn said to me the night he left the office in the West Wing on the night he had to resign?" McFarland said. "He said, 'You know the irony? I joined the military to fight the Russians.'" (Read more)

3. Attorney: FBI Plot To Set Up Flynn Went All The Way Up to Obama - Western Journal
The attorney for former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn claimed Sunday that top officials of the Obama administration, including former President Barack Obama, conspired against Flynn.
On Sunday, Powell pointed the finger at FBI agents and former FBI Director James Comey. "These agents specifically schemed and planned with each other how to not tip him off that he was even the person being investigated. In fact, according to Comey's testimony that's attached to the exhibits they filed in the motion to dismiss, they just simply said, "We'd like to send a couple agents by to talk to you,'" she said, about the 1:43 mark on the video below. 4. Obama official admitted under oath she lied about Trump-Russia collusion - WND
Former Obama defense official and current congressional candidate Evelyn Farkas had an important role in the development of the Trump-Russia collusion narrative on the left's go-to cable network, MSNBC, which saw its ratings spike during Robert Mueller's special counsel probe.
But when she was put under oath -- as the newly released transcript of her House Intelligence Committee interview shows -- she admitted there was no basis for her bombshell claims, noted The Federalist's Sean Davis.
In a March 2, 2017, interview with MSNBC, Farkas claimed knowledge of incriminating information about Trump and his aides. She urged intelligence community bureaucrats to protect evidence of alleged collusion and even leak it to media.
"I had a fear that somehow that information would disappear with the senior [Obama administration] people who left . . . [that] it would be hidden away in the bureaucracy," Farkas said.
Farkas, who served as the deputy assistant secretary of Defense for Russia, Ukraine and Eurasia from 2012 through 2015, claimed Trump officials might even destroy evidence of alleged collusion if they "found out how we knew what we knew about the Trump staff's dealing with Russians." (Read more)

5. Attorney General Barr's Office Shreds NBC's Chuck Todd For 'Deceptive Editing' Of Barr's Comments - Daily Wire
Attorney General William Barr's office slammed far-left NBC News host Chuck Todd on Sunday for "deceptive editing" after Todd took remarks that Barr made out of context and used the distorted remarks to smear the Department of Justice (DOJ). On "Meet The Press," Todd used a deceptively edited portion of Barr's interview last week with CBS News investigative reporter Catherine Herridge:
HERRIDGE: In closing, this was a big decision in the Flynn case, to say the least. When history looks back on this decision, how do you think it will be written? What will it say about your decision making?
BARR: Well, history is written by the winner. So it largely depends on who's writing the history. But I think a fair history would say that it was a good decision because it upheld the rule of law. It helped, it upheld the standards of the Department of Justice, and it undid what was an injustice.

6. New White House Press Sec Issues Dire Warning to Americans About the FBI- Western Journal
Newly appointed White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany continues to impress in her new position working for the White House. Two days after absolutely leveling members of the White House media corps, the 32-year-old former Trump campaign spokeswoman made waves Friday by warning Americans that they, like former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn, could also become targets of needless investigations.
The Justice Department filed a motion Thursday to drop the charges against Flynn, throwing Democrats and some reporters into tantrums.
McEnany assisted in their misery by throwing salt on their still fresh wounds by defending Flynn and castigating the FBI's top brass over the investigation. She lauded the "rank-and-file men and women" of the FBI, then offered a prologue of her coming bureau criticism, saying her praise "is separate and apart from what I'm about to address right now.
"The FBI exists to investigate crimes. But in the case of Lieutenant General Michael Flynn, it appears that they might have existed to manufacture one," she said at Friday's White House media briefing. "As a motion filed by the Department of Justice yesterday explained, the FBI set out to interview General Michael Flynn when they had no predicate for any investigation of any crime." (Read more)

7. Biden Campaign Building A 'Secret' Group Of Republican Supporters - Daily Wire
The Biden for President campaign is building a "secret" group of Republican supporters in an effort to entice would-be Trump voters to cast a ballot for the former Vice President instead, per a Daily Beast report Sunday.
The group is likely to attract so-called "Never Trump" Republicans, many of whom have been working against the president since before he won the election in 2016, and have undertaken several mostly unsuccessful efforts to undermine the president's administration and derail his re-election.
Biden gave some insight into the group's creation late last month when he suggested that his campaign was "speaking to a lot of Republicans," according to the Daily Beast. "Matter of fact, there's some major Republicans who are already forming 'Republicans for Biden . . . Major officeholders."
The Daily Beast admits that organizational efforts for a "Republicans for Biden" campaign are only in their initial stages, though "preliminary talks about messaging, engagement, leadership, and roll out are starting to be broadly sketched out, according to sources directly familiar with the matter."
Talks have become more frequent - and more serious - the outlet says, as Biden inches closer to a real presidential campaign, and other efforts to take down the president's re-election bid from the inside of the Republican party have failed. (Read more)

8. Huge Group of California Churches Announces Plan To Defy Governor Newsom's Order-- Western Journal
An evangelical church network in California will ignore Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom's executive prohibitions this month, opening sanctuary doors for communal worship despite the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
According to Fox News, California Church United, representing roughly 3,000 churches and 2.5 million congregants statewide, announced Thursday that it will return to conducting in-person services by Pentecost on May 31 rather than await the third phase of planned societal reopening.
Newsom, the first governor to introduce a statewide executive stay-at-home order, finally pushed California into Phase 2 of its reopening effort on Friday, allowing retailers to recommence on-site sales under substantial health and capacity restrictions, KABC-TV reported.
Newsom did not, however, definitively indicate when the "Phase 3" reintroduction of public dining and in-person church services might come - and that left local church leaders unwilling to cooperate. (Read more)

9. Sen. Lamar Alexander to self-quarantine after staff member tests positive for COVID-19 - The Hill
Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) will self-quarantine after a staff member tested positive for the coronavirus. David Cleary, Alexander's chief of staff, said the GOP senator had no symptoms and had tested negative for the coronavirus on Thursday. The staff member, according to Cleary, tested positive for the coronavirus on Sunday.
"After discussing this with the Senate's attending physician, Senator Alexander, out of an abundance of caution, has decided not to return to Washington, D.C., and will self-quarantine in Tennessee for 14 days," he said.
No other staff in Alexander's office is expected to self-quarantine and most of the GOP senator's Washington, D.C., staff, like most offices on Capitol Hill, was already working remotely.
Alexander is the latest senator who has had to self-quarantine after exposure to the virus. Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) is the only senator known to have tested positive but others, including Sens. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), Rick Scott (R-Fla.) and Ted Cruz (R-Texas), have also self-quarantined in recent months. (Read more)

10. Coronavirus government response updates: Wearing masks in White House West Wing now mandatory - ABC News
ABC News has learned a new White House policy was distributed to West Wing staff Monday afternoon directing them to wear masks at all times while working in the West Wing, according to sources familiar with the matter. ABC News' Katherine Faulders and John Santucci report that in the email, staff are told they must wear a mask upon entry - keep social distance from colleagues whenever possible - and they can only not wear a mask when they are seated at their own desks. Staff have also been told, according to sources, that the White House will provide a mask to anyone who needs it. (Read more)

11. Trump administration recommends large-scale testing of nursing home residents and staff - CBS News
The Trump administration is recommending that more than 1 million nursing home residents and staff be tested in the coming weeks, part of a push to increase testing for COVID-19 across the country. The recommendation was announced on a call late Monday morning with state governors led by Vice President Pence and other administration officials working on the response to the pandemic, according to two people familiar with the call.
Pence and Dr. Deborah Birx appeared during the teleconference on a split screen in separate rooms within the White House complex while other administration officials joined by telephone, according to one participant on the call. (Read more)

12. Israeli Professor Shows Virus Follows Fixed Pattern - Town Hall
Professor Yitzhak Ben Israel of Tel Aviv University, who also serves on the research and development advisory board for Teva Pharmaceutical Industries, plotted the rates of new coronavirus infections of the U.S., U.K., Sweden, Italy, Israel, Switzerland, France, Germany, and Spain. The numbers told a shocking story: irrespective of whether the country quarantined like Israel, or went about business as usual like Sweden, coronavirus peaked and subsided in the exact same way. In the exact, same, way. His graphs show that all countries experienced seemingly identical coronavirus infection patterns, with the number of infected peaking in the sixth week and rapidly subsiding by the eighth week.
The Wuhan Virus follows its own pattern, he told Mako, an Israeli news agency. It is a fixed pattern that is not dependent on freedom or quarantine. "There is a decline in the number of infections even [in countries] without closures, and it is similar to the countries with closures," he wrote in his paper.
. . . Professor Yitzhak Ben Israel has mathematically shown us that coronavirus closures were a mistake. It's a tough reality. Americans lost their jobs and businesses went under because the United States, along with most first world nations, acted on the chilling predictions of a severely flawed model, a reading of Professor Ferguson's tarot cards. Hindsight is 20/20, so we have to be realistic with our criticism. Responsibility and common sense
As the nation reopens during the COVID-19 era, there are two things to keep in mind: responsibility and common sense. Having been on several calls with those planning how to return to work, open business and at the same time keep people safe, these two acts of character keep resonating. We need to be responsible and we need to use common sense. It's like the commercials say: keep your distance, wash your hands, don't touch your face, try to avoid large crowds. In all of this, our responsibility to one another is not to be a spy and turn in everyone we think isn't complying, but rather to control what we can control-which is ourselves and our response as Christians.
One of the main observations that I have made during this time of lockdown is the Christian response. Some have done very well at being the salt and light to those who are fearful. Many have shown Christ through their prayers and actions. There have been many gallant and courageous men and women showing the love of Christ on the very front lines of this virus. They have taken seriously the exhortation of Christ in Matthew 25:35-40 of caring for the sick, providing food and water, and clothing the naked as, "Inasmuch you have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, you have done it unto me." I have witnessed tremendous acts of kindness and courage, love, care and compassion during this time.
Another observation of the Christian response has not been as encouraging. So much time and energy has been spent on bad discernment. The fascination with conspiracy theories and fake news, even when proven wrong, Christians are passing them on as if they were truth, without checking the credibility. If they want to believe it, it must be true. During a crisis it is so easy to get wrapped around the axel of deception. Everyone is looking for answers. And in this day and age, people are looking for someone to blame. Christ said in Matthew 24 that there would be wars, rumors of wars, famines, and pestilences and earthquakes, "See that you be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet." When the world is looking for answers, Christians already have the answer in Christ.
Think of how much more pleasing to Christ it is to focus on bringing the light of the gospel to the world in word and deed during crisis, than passing along the darkness of undocumented conspiracy theories. As Christians, what is our responsibility and common sense of duty? Are we to have our toes dipping in the spring of living water and the rest of our feet in the burning coals of darkness? As we return from this virus episode, whether natural or planned, let us focus on the task at hand. For the time may be short, and the lost are many. Romans 13:14 says to "put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfill the lusts thereof." Our responsibility is to Christ, not the works of darkness. Let us be responsible and use common sense as prophetic people, both in our walk with Christ and how we walk here on earth.

There are many values at stake this November, which could change dramatically depending on the result of the election. While we usually think of domestic issues like abortion, immigration and tax policy, there are serious foreign policy issues on the line as well.
For example, will America remain Israel's strongest ally? Sadly, we got a disturbing indication recently of just how eager some elements of the Democrat Party are to abandon the Jewish state.
Senators Tim Kaine (D-VA), Chris Murphy (D-CT) and Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) were pushing a letter warning Israeli leaders that efforts to annex parts of Judea and Samaria would undermine Israel's bi-partisan support in Congress and "threaten" Israel's security.
Not surprisingly, the radical anti-Israel group J Street supported this letter, and at least 10 Democrat senators had agreed to sign it.
These senators and leftist American groups are clueless about public sentiment in Israel. Israel's leaders agree that parts of Judea and Samaria must remain under Israeli sovereignty. After a serious backlash, Sens. Kaine, Murphy and Van Hollen have reportedly revised their letter.
But don't forget that Joe Biden ordered his foreign policy team to sit down with Bernie Sanders's radical advisers. The Obama/Biden Middle East policy was a disaster that led to the rise of ISIS, the appeasement of Iran and the isolation of Israel. Returning to such a terrible policy is not in Israel's interest or America's interest.

Mahnaz nervously rings the apartment door bell. As she's quickly ushered in she sees a few well-worn Bibles and smiles on six familiar faces: She's in the right place. This small Christian fellowship of new believers meets in a different home each week as part of their efforts to avoid detection. They begin the meeting by singing worship songs, but quietly so as not to alert the neighbors. After worship, they share testimonies and then listen to a sermon online. The teaching, from Matthew 10, is hard-hitting: Jesus told his followers to expect to suffer for His name. Indeed, the preacher was himself forced into exile because of persecution. Between Coronavirus and Locusts, Kenya's Rural Communities Overwhelmed
The coronavirus couldn't have come at a worse time for Kenya's rural communities. Kenyan farmers were already struggling with a massive locust outbreak - the worst locust infestation some East African countries have seen in 70 years. Food supplies have been dangerously low.
Now, those gathering in rural areas to avoid locusts risk spreading the coronavirus. And with everyone shut in their homes, people can't go to work or make money to buy what little food is left. The food that is available is also marked at higher prices.
"Then they also have the issue of the curfew," says Joy Mueller with Kenya Hope. "They have to be at their homes by five o'clock in the evening. For our communities that are so remote, they have to travel a great distance, and now the local market - or you could say the open-air markets where they typically will buy food - have all been closed down."

Trump Admin. Will 'Protect' Churches' Religious Freedom During Pandemic, Pence Says . . . Stands behind a church in Virginia that is going to court to retain its right to hold services each week, defying the order of the state's governor.
Vice President Mike Pence says he supports a Virginia church in its legal battle against the governor for restrictions against houses of worship.
Lighthouse Fellowship Church of Chincoteague sued the state in federal court after its pastor was issued a criminal citation for holding a 16-person church service on Palm Sunday inside a 225-seat sanctuary, Christian Headlines previously reported. Each attendee reportedly sat at least six feet apart and followed health guidelines.
Orders by Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam restrict mass gatherings to 10 people during the coronavirus pandemic.
Pence said he backs a Department of Justice Statement of Interest urging the court to issue an injunction favoring the church. He and the Department "strongly agree" that "even in the midst of a national emergency, every American enjoys our cherished liberties, including the freedom of religion."
"And the very idea that the Commonwealth of Virginia would sanction a church for having 16 people come to a Psalm Sunday service when . . . the church actually seats about 250 was just beyond the pale," Pence told The Brian Kilmeade Show. "And I'm truly grateful for Attorney General [William] Barr standing by religious liberty."
The Trump administration, Pence said, will "stand by men and women of faith of every religion in this country and . . . even in this challenging time, [will] protect their freedom of religion."
Meanwhile, nearly 200 pastors have signed a letter urging Northam to modify his orders and allow, at minimum, weekly gatherings by religious organizations, "provided reasonable public-health precautions are taken."
The pastors said their churches would disinfect hard surfaces, abstain from physical contact, provide sanitizer to attendees, require six feet of distance between individuals, encourage the sick and vulnerable to stay home, and close nurseries and Sunday School classes. This "would fulfill the Executive Orders' goal of protecting public health while also permitting us to satisfy our religious obligations and serve the spiritual needs of our communities," the letter says.
