President Trump Touts Criminal Justice Reform

While Biden Delivers Racially Insensitive 'Gaffes,' President Trump Delivers Results on Criminal Justice

Former Vice President Joe Biden finds himself in a wave of backlash after giving a racially charged answer in an interview on Friday morning. The Biden campaign initially responded by framing the comments as a "joke," but the former vice president eventually apologized, leaving the intention unclear.

While Biden tells African American voters that they must vote for him based on the color of their skin, President Trump continues to improve the lives of the black community.

President Trump's pro-growth economic policies, based largely on individual freedom, have undoubtedly helped the black community in more ways than one. Since his assumption of office, black unemployment rates have remained at record lows. Indeed, youth unemployment for African Americans reached a record-breaking low during the Trump Administration, the percentage of African Americans employed increased by more than 1.2 million under President Trump and the poverty rate for African Americans continues to hit record lows under President Trump.

One of the Trump Administration's biggest legislative accomplishments is the landmark First Step Act. The largest, most bipartisan overhaul of the criminal justice system in decades, the First Step Act was a monumental legislative feat, especially for a Republican president, and helped the black community disproportionately after decades of injustice within the system. The legislation created programs to incentivize reentry into society, which gives Americans a second chance by cutting back on recidivism and fighting unfair sentencing, while also keeping American communities safe. Nearly 90 percent of sentences reduced via the First Step Act were those of African Americans. After the passage of the First Step Act, President Trump continues to promote second-chance hiring, including a "Ready to Work" initiative to liaise between employers and former inmates. Even more, the administration launched the Federal Interagency Council on Crime Prevention and Improving Reentry to create further opportunities for former prisoners seeking a second chance.

Aside from prosperous economic policies and criminal justice reform, the Trump Administration also prioritized Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). President Trump created a task force within his administration to work toward growth in the long-term for HBCUs and signed legislation endowing $250 million in federal funding to HBCUs annually.

These legislative moves, and system overhauls, are rightfully touted by the Trump Administration. (TownHall)

1. First day of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's trial ends - Israel National News

The first day of the much-anticipated trial of Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu ended Sunday afternoon, just an hour after it started at 3:00 p.m.

Prime Minister Netanyahu made a brief appearance at the hearing, held at the Jerusalem District Court, only speaking to confirm his identity.

Netanyahu, who stands accused of bribery in the "Case 4000" probe and of fraud and breach of trust in the "Case 1000" and "Case 2000" investigations, maintained his innocence Sunday, denouncing the investigations and resulting trial as a legal witch-hunt aimed at deposing his, calling the process an attempted "coup".

"I'm here with a straight back and my head held high," Netanyahu said at a press conference shortly before the opening of his trial, rejecting charges against him as "ludicrous".

2. Yamina pushes bill to prevent investigation against PM - Israel National News

The Yamina faction today placed before the Knesset a "French law" bill aimed at preventing investigations against an incumbent prime minister except for serious offenses.

The faction explained why it was decided to submit the proposal now: "As we are seeing these days, investigations and criminal trials against an incumbent prime minister are severely hampering his ability to function and give the State Attorney too much power."

"Separation of powers must prevent a situation where it is possible to threaten an incumbent prime minister and thwart the election of the democratic public through legal persecution," the party added.

They also said that "in recent times, we have witnessed the most tangible damage of investigations against an incumbent prime minister against democracy, government stability, and public trust in the law enforcement system, which is rightly perceived as a political actor."

3. Netanyahu: Target date for applying sovereignty is July 1 - Israel Hayom

A day after his trial began in the Jerusalem District Court, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu delivered a message to the press at a faction meeting of his Likud party.

Netanyahu said that the government's "target date" to apply Israeli law to the Jordan Valley and much of Judea and Samaria was this coming July 1, and "we do not intend to change it."

"We'll work wisely and in cooperation," Netanyahu said. "This is our first faction meeting since the election. This is a large, crowded faction. We won 36 seats, which is very respectable, a great vote of confidence. We welcome that. Many didn't believe we would be here in the framework of a unity government, but I thought that in the face of challenges, we needed to join forces. We are now a big faction and a broad government," the prime minister told his faction members.

4. Erdogan vows: 'We will not allow Palestinian lands to be offered to anyone else' - World Israel News

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan told U.S. Muslims that he will not allow Israeli annexation of "Palestinian lands" during a video message on Sunday. "Last week we have witnessed that a new occupation and annexation project, which disregards Palestine's sovereignty and the international law, was put into action by Israel. We will not allow the Palestinian lands to be offered to anyone else," Erdogan said.

"I would like to reiterate that Al-Quds Al-Sharif [Jerusalem], the holy site of three religions and our first kiblah, is a red line for all Muslims in the world," he said. The "kiblah" is the direction Muslims face during prayer.

While Muhammad and his followers first prayed in the direction of Jerusalem as Jews do, it is said that Muhammad later received a revelation designating Mecca, Saudi Arabia, as the correct direction for Muslim prayer.

5. Multiple Israeli Coronavirus Research Centers Struck in Major Cyber Attack - Jewish Press

Multiple Israeli research centers have been struck in multiple attempts to sabotage Israel's ability to produce a vaccine to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus.

The complex cyberattack was carried out against Israeli research institutes that are involved in creating medication to treat the SARS-CoV-2 novel coronavirus that causes COVID-19 and a vaccine to prevent it. The attacks - which involved no attempt to extract information but rather simply an attempt to sabotage the research - were unsuccessful.

Israel has determined the masterminds behind the attack, according to the Channel 12 television news team.

1. Trump and Pence both plan to attend Wednesday's astronaut launch from Cape Canaveral - Orlando Sentinel

President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence both plan to be at the Space Florida coast Wednesday to watch American astronauts blast into orbit from U.S. soil for the first time since the last space shuttle flight in 2011, according to several news media accounts.

The SpaceX Commercial Crew flight test launch will carry NASA's newest test pilots, Doug Hurley and Bob Behnken, in a SpaceX Crew Dragon capsule on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket.

They're scheduled to blast off from launch pad 39A at 4:33 p.m. Brevard County officials expect as many as 100,000 people to watch the launch, despite the coronavirus pandemic. Many will gather on public beaches, officials have said.

The White House has portrayed the launch as an extension of Trump's promise to reassert American dominance in space. He recently oversaw creation of the Space Force as the sixth branch of the armed forces. (Read more)

- Lord, we pray for a safe journey for the astronauts about the SpaceX vehicle. We thank You that this will be the first time in several years that America will be launching from our own soil. We pray also for the protection and safety of the President and Vice President as they watch the launch, as both of them together at the same place could be a target.

"Lord, lift up the light of Your countenance upon us." (Psalm 4:6c)

2. Mississippi church destroyed by arson was suing city over safer-at-home order - WLBT(NBC)

A Mississippi church at the center of an arson investigation is the same church currently in a battle with city leaders over a COVID-19 safer-at-home order. First Pentecostal Church in Holly Springs was destroyed by what investigators believe is an arsonist. Investigators found graffiti on pavement in the church parking lot that reads, "Bet you stay home now you hypokrits (sic)."

Jerry Waldrop has pastored the church for 31 years. "We've tacked our brains and we have no idea," Waldrop said. "No enemies that we know of. We don't know anyone that we even think could be capable of doing something like this."

The fire comes after Waldrop filed a lawsuit in April against the City of Holly Springs. The 14-page document claims local police officers disrupted a mid-week Bible study and the church's Easter service 10 days prior.

According to the complaint, the pastor held outdoor services when possible but would hold them indoors while practicing social distancing during inclement weather. (Read more)

- Lord, as hostility toward Your people grows, we pray that You would grant us all grace, peace, and faith to overcome. We ask that You touch the hearts of this Pastor and congregation, and grant them love in the face of extreme hate.

"Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven." (Matthew 5:10)

3. Trump considers panel to review complaints of anticonservative bias on social media - Fox News

President Trump is considering establishing a panel to review complaints of anticonservative bias on social media, according to people familiar with the matter, in a move that would likely draw pushback from technology companies and others.

The plans are still under discussion but could include the establishment of a White House-created commission that would examine allegations of online bias and censorship, these people said. The administration could also encourage similar reviews by federal regulatory agencies, such as the Federal Communications Commission and the Federal Election Commission, they said.

"Left-wing bias in the tech world is a concern that definitely needs to be addressed from our vantage point, and at least exposed [so] that Americans have clear eyes about what we're dealing with," a White House official said. (Read more)

- Father, we thank You for the willingness of the White House to investigate the egregious anti-Conservative bias on social media. We pray for a solid, fair solution to the problem.

"Blessed are they who observe justice, who do righteousness at all times!"
(Psalm 106:3)

4. Gretchen Whitmer Loses Again to 77-Year-Old Barber: Judge Rules Shop Can Remain Open - Breitbart

Karl Manke, a 77-year-old barber in Owosso, Michigan, has defeated Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and Attorney General Dana Nessel in court for the second time in about a week.

Judge Matthew Stewart ruled that Karl Manke will not have to close his shop after the state again failed to prove he was an imminent danger to public health. Stewart said the state did not arrest Manke when he was cited, so he didn't represent "an imminent health danger. "(The attorney general) has not presented any studies underlying the doctor's conclusion. (The attorney general) has not shown any nexus between the cutting of hair and an increased risk of transmission," Stewart wrote, the Detroit Free Press reported. "(The attorney general's) filings rest more on general facts about COVID-19 than specific practices or conditions at (Manke's) business."

Nessel's office said she would appeal the ruling.

The Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs suspended Manke's license without a hearing. "It's an unbelievable abuse of power," attorney David Kallman told radio host Steve Gruber, stating there is no legal basis for the action. "This is pure retribution by the governor's office and by the AG. This is so petty and vindictive, it's beyond the pale," Kallman said.

After her defeat, Nessel attacked Manke publicly."We want him to discontinue his conduct, which we think is aiding and abetting the spread of the virus," Nessel claimed. "Mr. Manke," she sighed, "He's not a hero, he's not a patriot. A patriot is a person that fights all enemies, foreign and domestic, and does everything possible to protect his fellow countrymen and countrywomen." (Read more)

- Lord, this is a sad example of a Governor and her Attorney General taking revenge on an elderly man for needing to open his business against her severe restrictions. We thank you that the court ruled for the barber, and ask that You preserve him and draw him to Your heart. We pray that the hard hearts of Governor Whitmer and her Attorney General would be exchanged for a heart of repentance and humility.

"I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you." (Ezekiel 36:26a)

"Do not say, 'I will do to him as he has done to me; I will pay the man back for what he has done.'" (Proverbs 24:29)

5. Naval Air Station Corpus Christi Shooting 'Terrorism-Related,' FBI Says - Military.com

The incident involving an active shooter at a Texas naval air station was "terrorism-related," an FBI official said on Thursday, making it the second Navy installation to experience an attack in less than six months.

The gunman who prompted Naval Air Station Corpus Christi to be locked down early Thursday morning is dead, Leah Greeves, the supervisory senior resident agent for Corpus Christi FBI, said at a press conference.

A second "potential person of interest" may still be at large in the community, she added, while urging the public to remain calm. "If you see something, say something," Greeves added.

One sailor with the air station's security forces sustained minor injuries during the incident, which began around 6:45 a.m. That sailor, according to Navy officials, has since been released from a local hospital. State, local and federal law enforcement agents are still investigating the situation, which Greeves called "fluid and evolving." She declined to provide any additional details on the shooting, citing the ongoing probe.(Read more)

- Lord, we pray that this second man will be caught quickly and all ties to terrorism for them both will be revealed. We bind up the work of the enemy and declare it unable to come to fruition.

"You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day." (Psalm 91:5)

6. Senate Democrats call on Trump administration to let Planned Parenthood centers keep PPP loans- The Hill

Senate Democrats are calling on the Small Business Administration (SBA) to stop pressuring Planned Parenthood centers to return loans they received from the coronavirus stimulus package.

Forty-one Democrats, led by Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), sent a letter dated Friday to the Treasury Department and SBA refuting Republicans' claims that the centers do not qualify for the loan program and blasted efforts to have Planned Parenthood return the money as "ideological."

"It is critical that the SBA implement the PPP [Paycheck Protection Program] as Congress directed, without ideological efforts to treat certain nonprofit organizations differently from others," they wrote. "The SBA must administer the PPP in a manner that is uniform and that does not target any entity or subset of entities for exclusion, especially if doing so is based on a political ideology, the services provided by that entity, or any other factor unrelated to the criteria established by law in the CARES Act."

The letter comes as the Trump administration and Senate Republicans put pressure on Planned Parenthood centers over the $80 million they received. Senate Republicans are calling on the Justice Department to investigate Planned Parenthood centers, claiming that they were ineligible for the funds due to the PPP's size standards. (Read more)

- Lord, we say no to the Democrat's plan and ask that You prevent Planned Parenthood from keeping the money that was sent to them.

"Their feet run to evil, and they are swift to shed innocent blood; their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; desolation and destruction are in their highways. The way of peace they do not know, and there is no justice in their paths; they have made their roads crooked; no one who treads on them knows peace." (Isaiah 59:7-8)

7. Soros Donor Network Quietly Launched New Big-Money Entities - Free Beacon

A powerful donor club cofounded by liberal billionaire George Soros quietly established two big-money entities to help its effort to inject $275 million into the 2020 election.

The Democracy Alliance, a coalition of deep-pocketed Democratic donors, launched the Strategic Victory Fund super PAC in March. The PAC appears to be aimed at state-based initiatives and can collect and spend unlimited sums on political advertisements. The group also created the Strategic Victory Fund nonprofit arm, which supplied the PAC's initial $500,000 deposit.

Democracy Alliance helps set the Democratic agenda and Vox has called it the "closest thing that exists to a 'left-wing conspiracy' in the US." The two new groups appear to be part of the $275 million anti-Trump strategy its board approved in February of 2019. The strategy includes supporting state-based organizing in Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, New Mexico, Nevada, and Virginia. It would also work to elect more progressive politicians at the state and local levels while building a candidate pipeline. The network additionally pinpointed at least 25 rural communities to build infrastructure and leadership for "civic engagement and progressive agenda development." (Read more)

- Lord, this group and the man behind it are working toward evil goals. We take authority over their actions and in the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ we declare them unable to complete their plans and goals.

"You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father's desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and has nothing to do with the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies." (John 8:44)

8. China Dares Trump to Hit Back With Hong Kong Power Grab - Elite Trader

On the first day of China's biggest political event of the year, Xi Jinping sent a clear message to Donald Trump: We're going to do what we want in Hong Kong, and we're not scared of the consequences.

China confirmed on Friday that it would effectively bypass the city's legislature to implement national security laws, which have long been resisted by residents who fear they will erode freedoms of speech, assembly and the press. The announcement, which came on the same day China refrained from setting an economic growth target for the first time in decades, triggered immediate calls for fresh protests and sent the MSCI Hong Kong index to its worst loss since 2008.

For Xi, the move allows Beijing to reassert dominance over a piece of Chinese territory where his government was rendered impotent during sometimes-violent protests last year. Facing rising unemployment in the mainland due to the Covid-19 outbreak and the potential for a big loss in Hong Kong legislative elections set for September, the Communist Party decided it had more to gain by acting decisively to stem any potential threats.

"Xi feels threatened, the leadership feels threatened -- this is a crisis," said David Zweig, an emeritus professor at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and director of Transnational China Consulting Ltd.

"This is, 'We're not going to give an inch, we're going to tighten up, and Hong Kong's national security as a potential subversive center is greater than its economic value.'"(Read more)

- Lord, we pray strongly for the people of Hong Kong, that You will find a way to give them peace and freedom, drawing them to You. We pray that President Trump will not take the bait from the words of X Jinping, but will pray and ask You to intervene in the situation.

"The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance."(2 Peter 3:9)

9. Exclusive - Mike Pence: 'Nobody Wants to Reopen This Country More than President Donald Trump' - Breitbart

Vice President Mike Pence told Breitbart News that he and President Donald Trump are excited to get the United States reopened and moving again as the coronavirus pandemic recedes nationwide.

Backstage after a roundtable with local business leaders here at Waffle House corporate headquarters, where Pence and Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp appeared to encourage the continued reopening of the country, Pence told Breitbart News that Georgia's efforts led by Kemp to reopen aggressively have been successful and are a model for the nation.

All 50 states have begun reopening in one way or another, Pence noted in the interview that aired on Breitbart News Saturday on SiriusXM 125 the Patriot Channel, citing Georgia and Florida-where Pence visited earlier in the week with Gov. Ron DeSantis-as examples for the country. (Read more)

- Lord, we can all feel for this President who has been the most persecuted President of all time. We ask that You grant a pathway to re-open this nation without problems from any COVID- spikes, and restore our economy to its former power. We pray also for a move of Your Holy Spirit to bring repentant hearts and the knowledge of Your love to every corner of the country.

"Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit."
(Psalm 51:12)

11. Fauci Flips On Lockdown: Staying Home Too Long Could Cause 'Irreparable Damage' - Daily Caller

Dr. Anthony Fauci said Friday that there could be "irreparable damage" if lockdowns due to the coronavirus pandemic went on too long.

Fauci explained during a segment of CNBC's "Fast Money Halftime Report" that there could be numerous unintended consequences to keeping the country shut down longer than necessary.

Fauci began by saying that his position had always been that states and regions should open as they passed certain benchmarks and could do so safely while still protecting the more vulnerable populations.

"We can't stay locked down for such a considerable period of time that you might do irreparable damage and have unintended consequences, including consequences for health," Fauci explained, adding, "We are enthusiastic about reopening. I think we can do it in pace that would be reasonable and would get us back as a society from a morale standpoint as well as the economy." (Read more)

- Lord, this man has flip flopped in front of the left wing news media differently than in front of the White House briefings. We pray that You will work a work in his heart to bring about a true and permanent change.

"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." (1 John 1:9)

12. Michelle Obama Is Getting Involved in the 2020 Election - Western Journal

I suppose it was only a matter of time. Michelle Obama hasn't exactly been on the sidelines for the 2020 campaign process, but the former first lady has now officially waded in, announcing a voter turnout initiative along with 31 mayors from across America.

The effort will take place through Obama's organization When We All Vote. Founded in 2018 by the former first lady, When We All Vote is described by The Washington Post - which began the title for its story with the ominous phrase "Michelle Obama is stepping into the 2020 election" - as a "nonpartisan voting initiative." (I'd love to see the author say those words with a straight face.)

On Thursday, Obama "announced a coalition of 31 mayors across the country who will be brainstorming and sharing lessons and practices about how to increase voter registration and civic engagement," The Post reported.

In a Zoom call with the U.S. Conference of Mayors, she echoed one of her husband's recent talking points: There are supposedly no adults in the room in the Trump administration. (Read more)

- Lord, we pray that every word spoken against this current administration will fall to the ground and be useless. We ask that You work on the Obamas to either change their ways or cause them to retire quietly.

"God is a righteous judge, and a God who feels indignation every day. If a man does not repent, God will whet his sword; he has bent and readied his bow; he has prepared for him his deadly weapons, making his arrows fiery shafts."

Covid 19 relief: socialism vs free market

The Democrat-controlled House of Representatives repeatedly is placing socialist elements in COVID-19 relief legislation. Things like guaranteed minimum wage (yes, that's where "stimulus" checks lead), vote by mail without voter roll clean ups, business bail-outs (targeting their favorite businesses, of course), and environmental (translated: groundwork for global warming/climate change taxes), among other things. They say all this is necessary to get the economy and the "little guy" up and running again when the country reopens. But all my sources in the nation's capitol say that the Democrats want to strangle the economy by putting off reopening to defeat President Trump and establish socialism.

In the interest of fairness, I don't like the idea of each week demonizing the Democratic Party for what they are doing. Trouble is, they are the leaders in falsifying information, rigging the vote, trying to tear down the free market system, encourage immorality and do whatever they accuse their opponents of doing. Trouble with Republicans, they don't do enough to point these things out and make their case to the American people. But one thing we know for sure, government at its best does not measure up to free market enterprise. And when we look at the current COVID-19 situation, where does government stack up against the corporate environment?

Well, the government has gone into tremendous debt to send out checks to everybody so they can live during this mandated quarantine of everyone. But those checks, if you have even gotten one (to date, neither my wife nor I have received anything from the government), wouldn't buy groceries for the month, let alone pay many bills. Yet in robbing Peter to pay Paul (taxing you and me to pay you and me, well, or maybe someone else), the government has created more debt and continues to make the case for more socialism. And some idiots are buying in. If you want to see what socialism does, look at Venezuela, a once prosperous and promising nation, now a crumbling monument to socialism.

But corporations in America, the gemstone of the free market, have actually made a difference to save lives and comfort the sick during this pandemic. Just one example: The NFL and NFL players alone have surpassed over $120 million. In addition to companies giving money, many have retooled to make life-saving equipment. The socialists say, "Well they get a tax break for doing this." Yes, exactly. That's the point. Socialism is forced, the free market is voluntary and based on incentive. As in Acts 2:44-45, "And all that believed were together, and had all things common; And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need." This worked because it was voluntary and there was a blessing in it for all. Socialism redistributes wealth by authority and force. It never works because of its authoritarianism and tyranny.

A Somber Memorial Day

Americans Welcome Summer With A Somber And Surreal Memorial Day

Even in a typical year, Memorial Day in the U.S. can be a confusing mixture of joy and sadness - at once a hearty welcome to summertime, brimming with picnics and parties, and a somber remembrance of the service members who died in wars.

But this has been no typical year.

Instead of parades . . . New York City's veterans gathered in their cars for convoys or visited memorials in face masks, many to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II.

Just a little farther west, on the beaches of Brooklyn and the rest of Long Island, access was closed to all but local residents - which wasn't too much of a disappointment, given the soggy weather Monday along much of the East Coast. In fact, the limitations came as a relief to New York State Sen. Todd Kaminsky, who represents several beach communities on the south shore of Long Island.

"It's just really hard to do social distancing on a really crowded beach," he told Desiree Diorio of member station WSHU.

Meanwhile, amid the confusion of sadness, frustration, relief and excitement, a grave milestone loomed across the country: The death toll linked to the coronavirus in the U.S. is nearing 100,000 - easily the highest toll of any country in the world, according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University.

As states take steps toward reopening businesses and public spaces, those numbers have spiked again in various locations across the country, including North Carolina, Arkansas and Washington, D.C.

That offers a stark reminder.

"With the country starting to open up this holiday weekend, I again remind everyone that the coronavirus is not yet contained," Dr. Stephen Hahn, head of the federal Food and Drug Administration, warned in a tweet posted Sunday. "It is up to every individual to protect themselves and their community. Social distancing, hand washing and wearing masks protect us all." (NPR)

Chinese Spying in Africa

China Builds Massive Spying Capacity in Africa

The Chinese government has established an unparalleled spying capacity in Africa by encouraging Chinese companies such as Huawei to construct government buildings across the continent, according to a recent report.

The report, published by the conservative Heritage Foundation, found that Chinese firms-many of which are state-owned or linked to the government-have built or renovated 186 government buildings in Africa. Many were constructed in the last two decades. Senior Policy Analyst Joshua Meservey, the report's author, said the buildings are "a likely vector for Chinese spying," given the Chinese government's history of using such buildings to spy on its inhabitants.

"Beijing may have better surveillance access to Africa than anywhere else in the world," the report reads. "The Chinese government could use the information it harvests to advantage its companies competing against American and other firms, glean insights into U.S. security assistance and counterterrorism programs, and recruit or influence senior African government officials." (Free Beacon) Read more.

- Father God, Holy One, we pray that You would protect the people of Africa from this Chinese encroachment. Lord God, let not their leaders fall prey to the lies of a communist state, but let each African leader cherish and preserve the freedom of his people. We ask this in Your name, amen.

"And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it." (Matthew 16:18)

"If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed." (John 8:36)

SOUND THE SHOFAR

Open Up Your Gates

May 22, 2020

Shalom Praying Friends,

This week I drove to my favorite breakfast place. I knew I probably couldn't eat inside but I needed to get out of the house and just wanted to drive somewhere that wasn't the grocery or gas station. I figured I could get take out and then find somewhere to eat it other than my kitchen. The restaurant was not only closed but it was also shut down and all the signage removed. I drove through the parking lot of the small shopping center and it was eery to see everything closed up and dark inside. The businesses don't even do that on the big holidays.

I asked the Lord, "Lord what has this nation come to? I've been patient, I have not been in fear, You have taken care of my every need, I trust You but I also need some human contact. You said it's not good for man to be alone. My goodness! I feel as though all I do is buy food and yet I've lost weight during this whole Covid-19 mess (In my case that's a great thing). When I go in some grocery stores they force me to wear a mask and I'm not at risk for anything! You are with me! I just want to rip off all the masks that people are wearing. I'm done with all this, Help us Lord!"

Clear as a bell I heard, "Yes but I'm not done." Boing! I jammed on the brakes. He said, "All this time you've had for yourself but you've been busier than ever, checking the internet for news updates, praying for people, prayer calls for the nation, writing, grocery shopping, eating. But what about me? Why aren't you spending more time with me? "If I could have crawled under the floorboards of the car I would have.

When the doors of the world and all its attractions (or distractions) were closed, and people were called home to keep at a safe, social distance from each other, what did I do? Did I spend more time with the Lord or did I transfer what I normally do into other channels? Because of the ministry I am involved in, I am called frequently and that's ok but it increased substantially as I checked on others to make sure they were doing ok and some others who were having difficult emotional times. It seems as though everyone in the world is having conference prayer calls and zoom meetings. What I learned was that many people didn't know how to pray about our current situation and often instead of turning to God they were turning away from Him and turning towards others to pray.

The Lord wants to be the source of our comfort. He wants to be the source of our unending love. He wants to deliver us. He wants to heal us. He wants to spend time with us. I wonder does the Lord, our very Creator, ever get lonely? Does He turn away with tears in His eyes when He calls us and we turn to someone else when He wants so much to pour into us? He wants to eat with us, sleep next to us, drive in the car with us, laugh with us. What are we doing with our time?

Last Night’s COVID-19 Conference Call

A Summary of Last Night's COVID-19 Conference Call

with a teaching by Eric Teitelman:

"Wide is the Road of Destruction, Narrow is the Road of Life."

Eric Teitelman was our guest speaker tonight and he brought 4 major prayer targets:

1. The nations are at a fork in the roads and a decision must be made. There are two groups:

Group one: for these people and nations, life continues as "normal" but without God, as in the days of Noah. These are people and nations that are on the wide road of destruction.

Group two: for these people and nations, they are on the narrow road, the road that is difficult, a road of persecution. Pray that measuring scales would be tipped to break away from secular humanism and the wide road of destruction and more nations/peoples would follow the narrow path.

Key Verse:

"Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. "Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it."
(Matthew 7:13-14)

2. President Trump recently met with evangelical leaders at the White House and made an impassioned plea that they need to mobilize their church members to vote in November. If we don't, we will lose everything that has been gained. If the other side wins the November elections, expect a tidal wave of persecution against Christians. (This was also reported by Lance Wallnau in a recent video.)

Our relationship with Israel would also be greatly impacted. See Zech 12:3. Not a fan of the deal of the century: it divides the land, which is a violation of the word of God. We prayed into this.

3. After Yeshua was resurrected, He visited the early church members. Because of fear and persecution, they were living in lockdown. He spoke peace to them, then he breathed upon them to receive the Holy Spirit. (John 20:19-22).

The Church today needs to break out of fear and lockdown and needs to be "empowered" with a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit. After we are empowered with a fresh infilling, then the church can go forth in power and authority to heal the sick, share the gospel. We prayed that as we approach Shavuot/Pentecost, that the church would experience this fresh outpouring.

Key Verse:

"But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth." (Acts 1:8)

4. In light of coronavirus and the damage done to the economy, where do we go from here? The institution of Church is being fundamentally changed in the new coronavirus world that we are living in. We need to break away from traditional model of meeting in church buildings on the weekend and look at many micro "home group" church clusters in our neighborhoods. We need to bring neighbors to our living rooms, perhaps still connect with larger church structure for broadcast worship and teaching, but in the smaller home group setting, can pray for and support one another. We prayed into this.

> > > Thank you, Eric, for another power-packed night of confronting the impact of COVID-19; and thank you to Laura Densmore, too, for recording this session and posting it on her own website.

The Sound of Angels Singing

The Sound of Angels Singing:

A Message from southern Virginia

> > > We received this message last night from "Mary Edna" -- one of our Lord's "hidden ones" in southern Virginia.

Her words brought joy to my heart and tears to my eyes!

I am sharing her message with you now, with her permission. May you, too, be blessed as you read her short message. Amen.

For the past three weeks I've felt a shift in the atmosphere. It's more like a wave. Then last week driving along Fancy Gap I was singing out loud in the spirit and in English. It was as though I could hear others singing as well. I kept hearing the phrase, I love hearing the angels sing. When the singing stopped I was in awe that it had been so beautiful. Then I knew in my spirit and spoke out loud thanking Jesus for singing over us.

The morning before last I woke up at 4:36. A little bit later I looked at the clock again and it was 4:34. I started reading Daniel and praying. I fell back asleep. Before I woke up again, I heard a deep voiced male singing The Lighthouse and I could hear other voices singing faintly. Not a dream. No pictures passing before my eyes. Just the beautiful voices. Then I was wide awake. Once again the thought came about hearing the angels sing. Maybe that's why churches when they reopen aren't being allowed to sing. God wants people to hear Him and His angels singing over us, Thanks be to God!

Shalom

"And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting . . . And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit." (Acts 2:2-4)

A Classic Hymn

Classic Hymns

WHEN WE ALL GET TO HEAVEN

"In My Father's house are many rooms . . . I am going there to prepare a place for you." (John 14:2)

Lyrics

Sing the wondrous love of Jesus,
Sing His mercy and His grace.
In the mansions bright and blessèd
He'll prepare for us a place.

Refrain

When we all get to Heaven,
What a day of rejoicing that will be!
When we all see Jesus
We'll sing and shout the victory!

While we walk the pilgrim pathway,
Clouds will overspread the sky;
But when traveling days are over,
Not a shadow, not a sigh.

Refrain

Let us then be true and faithful,
Trusting, serving every day;
Just one glimpse of Him in glory
Will the toils of life repay.

Refrain

Onward to the prize before us!
Soon His beauty we'll behold;
Soon the pearly gates will open;
We shall tread the streets of gold.

Refrain

Signs and Wonders

Signs and Wonders

17-year locust ready to make return to southern W.Va.

CHARLESTON - It's taken 17 years, but they're back!

The locust that is.

"They come out some place every year," said Barry Crutchfield, plant and pest biologist with the state Department of Agriculture. This year, it happens to be southern West Virginia and the first cicada will emerge from underground in May.

The last time the region was inundated with the inch-and-a-half-long, red-eyed cicadas was 1991. For more than 16 years, the locusts have been underground, slowly changing from nymphs to adults. When the adults emerge, they will live for four to six weeks, he said.

"They come out by the hundreds of thousands," Crutchfield said. "They will lay eggs and die."

Cicadas don't bite, but they do make a lot of noise. During their brief life span they produce an almost constant low-frequency hum.

Female Cicadas prefer small trees and shrubs to lay their eggs - which can be as many as 600. "Every tip of every branch from six inches to the tip will die," Crutchfield said.

Chemicals are not very effective, but homeowners might cover smaller trees with cheesecloth, netting or tobacco shade, he said. Crutchfield said the locust won't harm vegetable plants and flowers. (Herald-Dispatch) Read more.

- Father God, we lift up the citizens of this region, asking that You bring Your peace to rest upon them in the midst of this "invasion." We ask that, by Your grace, these insects not be allowed to spread across the rest of our nation. In Your name, amen.

"Thus far and no further, and here shall your proud waves be stopped." (Job 38:11)

"I will show wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below, blood and fire and billows of smoke." (Acts 2:19)

Kindness: Man Builds a Mini Home for a Homeless Elderly Woman

"We are all human. It could be somebody's sister, grandmother, or somebody's kids out there. She was very grateful. She's very sweet and she said 'no one's ever done anything for me.'" - Elvis Summers

Everyone in south LA knows Irene "Smokie" McGee. She is a 60-year-old homeless woman that the neighborhood cares deeply about.

However, after the sun goes down, Elvis Summers noticed that people seemed not to care about her wellbeing anymore.

According to Shareably, Irene met Elvis when "she knocked on his door asking for recyclables to cash in for money." He thought, like any homeless person, she would have at least a box to sleep in at night. However, he was wrong. The elderly woman didn't have any kind of protection at night. She had only been "sleeping in the dirt every single night."

The elderly woman's circumstance broke Elvis' heart. So he did something about it so Irene could have a good night's rest. He felt really compelled to help her and ended up building a tiny home for her to live in. (Breaking Christian News) Read more.

About Capitol Hill Prayer Partners

Our Mission Statement

Capitol Hill Prayer Partners (CHPP) is a ministry which is positioned on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., helping members of the Body of Christ to "pray for those in authority over us" in our federal government. Our primary purpose is to offer intercession on site for the members of Congress and their staffs each day that the Senate and the House of Representatives are in session; and our chief prayer focus is that "God's will be done in earth, as it is in heaven." [Matthew 6:10].

Because Jesus Christ has shed His blood for all, we, too, pray for ALL, in a nonpartisan manner. Also, because the scriptures indicate that "the effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" (James 4:17), we are confident that fervent prayer, offered in the halls of the highest chambers of government in our land, can avail much for America. Capitol Hill Prayer Partners welcomes those who feel called to join us, engaging in this strategic work of intercession for our nation: "For there is no power but of God; the powers that be are ordained of God." [Romans 13:1]

Hallelujah!!

Please join us as, together, we "soak the very atmosphere of our nation" in the WORD OF GOD!
