President Trump works across party lines to reopen America
Americans have done an incredible job listening to local health authorities, heeding social distancing guidelines, and helping to slow the spread of COVID-19. Our citizens stepped up and made incredible sacrifices. Now, it's time to get them safely back to work.
"We're going to safely reopen our country and our economy, and it's happening very rapidly," President Trump said at yesterday's Cabinet meeting.
A safe, strong reopening requires close partnership between federal and state leaders. That work continued today, as President Trump hosted Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson (R) and Kansas Gov. Laura Kelly (D) at the White House. Vice President Mike Pence, meanwhile, traveled to Florida to meet with Gov. Ron DeSantis (R).
FEMA and others are helping ensure each state is stocked up with critical resources. "In our drive to crush the virus, the U.S. has completed nearly 12 million tests," President Trump said yesterday. "What has been done with testing, what's been done with ventilators, what's been done with the distribution of product has been incredible."
Arkansas, Kansas, and Florida are no exceptions-each state has received the full support of President Trump's Administration. In terms of testing and masks, for example: - Arkansas is receiving over $78 million in testing assistance funding, along with more than 660,000 N95 masks.
- Kansas is receiving over $80 million in testing funds, along with 860,000 N-95 masks.
- Florida-one of our most populated states-is receiving over $420 million in testing funds, along with over 5 million masks N95 masks delivered.
Focus on Israel
1. UN: Israel must abandon 'annexation' plans - Israel National News
The UN's special Mideast envoy called Wednesday on Israel to drop plans to apply its sovereignty over parts of Judea and Samaria, joining a growing international chorus of opposition.
Envoy Nickolay Mladenov also called on the Palestinian Authority to resume talks with the so-called Quartet, comprising the US, Russia, the EU and the United Nations.
"Israel must abandon threats of annexation," Mladenov said during a meeting of the Security Council. "I call on my colleagues in the Middle East Quartet to work with the UN and quickly come forward with a proposal that will enable the Quartet to take up its mediation role and work jointly with countries in the region to advance the prospect of peace," he added.
The statement came a day after PA Chair Mahmoud Abbas announced an end to PA security arrangements with Israel,

2. Will Israel apply sovereignty to parts of Judea and Samaria? - JNS
(May 20, 2020 / JNS) Israel finally has a new government after three elections and more than a year of political stalemate. As it gets to work dealing with the calamitous effects of COVID-19, one of the main questions now is whether or not it will set in motion the Trump Mideast peace plan, which includes negotiating with the Palestinians and applying Israeli law to the Jordan Valley, and parts of Judea and Samaria. In his speech before the swearing-in ceremony at the Knesset on Sunday, Netanyahu said, "It's time to apply the Israeli law and write another glorious chapter in the history of Zionism."
But real concerns exist about Israel going forward with this plan amid warnings from the European Union and from elements in the United States during a presidential-election year, in addition to uncertainty regarding an investigation by the International Criminal Court in The Hague.
Efraim Inbar, president of the Jerusalem Institute for Security and Strategy, told JNS that he believes Israel will implement the plan. Regarding the Jordan Valley, Inbar said the details in the Trump administration's "Peace to Prosperity" plan "makes it clear it is important for our security and removes from the table all suggestions for alternative security arrangements that are not good for us."

3. Court rejects Netanyahu's request to skip opening of his corruption trial Sunday - Times of Israel
The Jerusalem District Court on Wednesday rejected Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's request to skip the start of his corruption trial, requiring him to appear for the opening hearing on Sunday.
"The rule is that a defendant is present for the reading [of the indictment], which is the opening of the trial. This is the case in every criminal procedure including the current criminal procedure," the judges wrote in their ruling.
"We did not find in the explanations of the petitioner reason to justify an exception to this rule," they added.

4. Jewish doctor who recommended coronavirus drug steps down - Israel National News
Dr. Zev Zelenko, the Hasidic doctor who came to national prominence for treating presumptive COVID-19 patients with hydroxychloroquine, announced on Wednesday that he is leaving his clinic in Monroe, N.Y., near the Hasidic town of Kiryas Joel.
"It's with a broken heart that I have to say this, but I have decided to leave Monroe after almost two decades of working as a doctor, taking care of the community, most recently with this terrible magefah (plague)," he said in a video addressed to his patients and residents of Kiryat Joel and shared on social media.
"Things have happened, and after speaking to my family and my mashpi'im" - religious advisers - "and thinking about what I want for the future, I've decided that it's time for me to move on," Dr. Zelenko continued.

5. After Zionism Denounced as 'Satanic' at Virtual 'Quds Day' Event in Canada, Jewish Group Calls for All-Out Ban - Algemeiner
An online video event in Canada hosted by virulently anti-Zionist activists to mark the Iranian regime's annual "Quds Day" protest calling for the elimination of the State of Israel was distinguished by its antisemitic rhetoric, a leading Canadian Jewish advocacy organization said on Monday.
In a statement, B'nai Brith Canada noted that it was in the process of filing a complaint with Toronto Police "over this act of hatred against Israelis based on their nationality."
The organization observed that while the mantra "Judaism yes, Zionism no" was repeatedly chanted during the event, "this did not prevent the use of antisemitic tropes during the rally."
Organizers played a video entitled "The Palestine Pandemic," which described Zionism as a "Satanic endeavor." The video went on to identify Zionism with "the military-industrial complex, elite-run societies, corporatocracies" and "the 1% who rule this planet." It concluded with the words: "Free Palestine, free Jerusalem, free the world."
Meanwhile, one speaker alleged that "Apartheid Israel" was an "ally" of COVID-19, while another described Israel, the world's only Jewish state, as "a cancer that has been growing, a cancer that has been spreading."

1. Judge declares Oregon Gov. Brown's coronavirus restrictions 'null and void' - KATU
A judge in rural Oregon on Monday tossed out statewide coronavirus restrictions imposed by Democratic Gov. Kate Brown, saying she didn't seek the Legislature's approval to extend the stay-at-home orders beyond a 28-day limit.
Baker County Circuit Judge Matthew Shirtcliff issued his opinion in response to a lawsuit filed earlier this month by 10 churches around Oregon that argued the state's social-distancing directives were unconstitutional.
Brown filed paperwork within hours seeking an emergency review by the Oregon Supreme Court and a hold on the ruling until the high court could take it up.
Since then, Oregon's Supreme Court has temporarily reinstated Gov. Browns coronavirus restrictions Monday night. (Read more)

2. Salon owner facing lockdown fine now says state targeting her children - WND
An Oregon salon owner who has been fined for reopening her business in defiance of Democratic Gov. Kate Brown's stay-home executive order says she's now under investigation by the state's Child Protective Services.
DailyMail.com reported Lindsey Graham, owner of Glamour Salon, reopened her salon May 5, explaining she and the contractors she supervises needed to take care of their families. Graham already has been fined $14,000 by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration for "operating a hazardous facility" for employees. She's fighting the fine, arguing her workers are contractors, not employees.
Now Graham says the state is investigating her care for her three children. (Read more)

3. Don Jr. Blasts Pennsylvania Gov. for Threatening State Residents - The Conservative Brief
Earlier this week, Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf went on a Twitter tirade against state residents criticizing his senseless lockdown. This tirade has since earned the governor censure from first son Donald Trump Jr. via a Breitbart News opinion piece.
Don Jr. made a series of excellent pointers about the failure of Democrats' leadership across America. The president's eldest son firstly noted that in spite of left-wing governors' austere orders for residents to stay home, 80% of the ten states with the greatest COVID-19 infection and death rates are run by Democrats. This data contradicts the false narrative that endlessly staying home is saving lives.
The first son also questioned why Wolf is threatening "consequences" for state residents who are simply trying to support themselves, feed their families, and not lose everything. (Read more)

4. Alan Dershowitz: State has right to 'plunge a needle into your arm' - WND
Harvard Law School emeritus professor Alan Dershowitz claimed in an interview that the government has a constitutional right under the 10th Amendment to forcibly vaccinate a citizen to curb the spread of a contagious disease.
"Let me put it very clearly, you have no constitutional right to endanger the public and spread the disease, even if you disagree. You have no right not to be vaccinated, you have no right not to wear a mask, you have no right to open up your business," he said.
The interviewer, Jason Goodman, interjected, asking if the famed constitutional scholar was saying that if the government decides "you have to be vaccinated, we have to be vaccinated." "Absolutely," Dershowitz replied. "And if you refuse to be vaccinated, the state has the power to literally take you to a doctor's office and plunge a needle into your arm." (Read more)

5. Ilhan Omar a 'Qatari asset' who passed secrets to Iran, Florida court told - Washington Examiner
Ilhan Omar, the Minnesota congresswoman, has said she is the victim of Saudi propaganda after she was accused of being a "Qatari asset" and conduit to Iran during a Florida court case.
Kuwaiti-born Canadian businessman Alan Bender testified in the recent trial of Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad al Thani, a member of the Qatari royal family who is accused of ordering his American bodyguard to murder two people and of holding an American citizen hostage. His deposition was obtained by Saudi-funded outlet Al Arabiya English, which reported the allegations Monday.
According to Bender, three Qatari officials asked him to recruit American politicians to be Qatari assets. He added he was told when he objected that several people were already on the payroll, including Omar, whom they called the "jewel in the crown." (Read more)

6. Trump threatens funding for Michigan over absentee ballot program - The Boston Globe
President Donald Trump threatened Wednesday to hold up coronavirus relief money for Michigan after he said - erroneously - that the state had sent absentee ballots to millions of voters. It's not clear that he can do so.
Michigan mailed applications for the absentee ballots, not the ballots themselves. "Michigan sends absentee ballots to 7.7 million people ahead of Primaries and the General Election," Trump tweeted Wednesday. "This was done illegally and without authorization by a rogue Secretary of State. I will ask to hold up funding to Michigan if they want to go down this Voter Fraud path!" (Read more)

7. F-35 fighter jet crashes at Florida's Eglin Air Force base - 2nd fighter jet crash in 4 days - American Military News
An F-35A Lightning II fighter jet crashed Tuesday evening while landing at Eglin Air Force Base in Florida - the second fighter jet crash at the base in four days.
The jet, assigned to the 58th Fighter Squadron with the 33rd Fighter Wing, crashed at 9:30 p.m. during "a routine night training sortie," the fighter wing said in a statement.
The pilot was able to eject, and was transported to the 96th Medical Group hospital on base. The pilot's identity was not revealed, but they are reported to be in stable condition. (Read more)

8. Major Western news outlets have been participating in a Chinese Communist Party-run 'Global Media Summit' for years - The National Pulse
In 2017, the Chinese Communist Party's state-owned propaganda networks China Central Television (CCTV) and the China Global Television Network (CGTN) co-hosted a 'Global Media Summit' in China's Hainan province to address the CCP's role in global media.
CGTN has existed as a foreign propaganda outlet since 1997, while its parent company CCTV has been around since the 1970s. Even YouTube, owned by Google, demarcates CGTN clips with a disclaimer that reads: "CGTN is funded in whole or in part by the Chinese government".
But that didn't stop Western media agencies collaborating in events over the course of 2017 and 2018. Listed attendees included The Associated Press (AP), Reuters, CNN, Al Jazeera, Russia Today, China Daily, Phoenix Satellite Television, AFP, BBC, Fox, and Google. (Read more)

9. Republican-led Senate panel authorizes subpoena in Hunter Biden probe - Politico
A Senate committee voted on Wednesday to authorize a subpoena as part of a Republican-led investigation targeting former Vice President Joe Biden's son Hunter.
Wednesday's vote authorizes the committee's chairman, Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.), to subpoena Blue Star Strategies, a Democratic public-relations firm that did consulting work for Burisma, a Ukrainian energy company whose board Hunter Biden sat on. Johnson's probe focuses on allegations that Blue Star Strategies sought to leverage Biden's position on the board in order to influence matters at the Obama-era State Department.
The subpoena seeks documents from the firm in addition to a deposition for its CEO, Karen Tramontano. (Read more)

10. Planned Parenthood affiliates improperly applied for and received $80 million in coronavirus stimulus funds, feds say - Fox News
Thirty-seven Planned Parenthood affiliates applied for and received a total of $80 million in loans from the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), Fox News' "Tucker Carlson Tonight" has learned -- and now the federal government wants the money back, saying the affiliates should have known they weren't eligible for the coronavirus stimulus payouts.
The Small Business Administration (SBA) is reaching out to each involved Planned Parenthood affiliate explaining that affiliates of larger organizations with more than 500 employees aren't eligible for PPP distributions, Fox News is told. The Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PFFA) alone has had more than 600 employees.
A Planned Parenthood affiliate in Metropolitan Washington (PPMW), for example, will receive a letter stating that although self-certified that it was eligible for a $1,328,000 PPP loan in accordance with the SBA's affiliation rules, it will need to return the money.(Read more)

11. BREAKING!! CDC Director Says US Can Begin Reopening Now That Testing, Contact Tracing Are in Place - Western Journal
The director of the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said that the worst of the first wave of the coronavirus impact appears to be over and that he is confident the nation's public health infrastructure will be up the challenges ahead as the nation reopens.
"I want to clarify that the community-based transmission, the community-to-community transmission that overwhelmed the public health departments in late February, March, April, that's really coming down," CDC Director Robert Redfield said in an interview with The Hill.
"CDC is putting out guidance," he said when asked if the nation is ready to start reopening. "We put out a lot over the weekend again about you know how to reopen safely." (Read more)

Why mail in voting is bad
We have heard a lot in the news media lately about how President Trump is trying to undermine democracy and steal the election through his opposition to "vote by mail." The Democratic Party leadership is all up in arms about the possibility that all registered voters will not be able to vote during this pandemic and vote by mail will save democracy in America. Chairman of the Democratic National Committee, the same that paid for the false dossier that the Obama Administration used to get FISA Court approval to spy on president-elect Trump, Tom Perez told MSNBC, "This president, in a desperate effort to steal an election, is going to stop at nothing." The DNC is accusing Trump of its own exact intentions.
Perez said, "What we have to do between now and November is make sure that every single voter in every single state has a choice. The choice to vote on election day. So the choice to early vote, the more days of early voting, the more social distancing you do and the right to vote absentee with no excuse, the right to vote by mail. Republicans and Democrats agree on that." In reality, the earlier the vote, the earlier the Democratic Party has to tally who has voted from the voter rolls. The earlier the vote, the more time the Democratic Party has to prepare mail in ballots for all those who are registered to vote but have not voted. Sounds great, right? Getting 100% of voters voting.
Problem is, this is one of the ways elections are stolen. In matching up who has voted with the voter rolls, one can fill out ballots for those who do not vote and send them in. No one will ever know that the person did not vote, but actually did. This is possible because the voter rolls have thousands upon thousands of dead people on them. No ID is required. Dead people can vote, and they do because the political party either mails in their vote or someone shows up at the poll posing as the dead person. More days to vote, leaves more days to manipulate the voter rolls. The earlier the voting, the more time for cheating. In every state where election commissions have tried to purge the voter rolls of the dead people, the Democratic Party and the ACLU has filed suits to obstruct it, saying that it disenfranchises minorities.
Mail in voting also may skew election results by people receiving ballots that are ineligible to vote. Breitbart reports that the Public Interest Legal Foundation recently reached a settlement with Allegheny County, PA, including Pittsburgh, to clean up voter rolls which included some 1,600 dead registered voters, 7,500 duplicate voter registrations, 1,523 voters who are over 100 years old, and nearly 1,200 who have no date of birth. That's just one area. Song of Solomon 2:15 says, "Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines." The little foxes can't reach the fruit so they chew on the vines and kill them. Mail in voting without purging of the voter rolls will kill the vine of Liberty.

Pompeo slams 'brutal' Beijing as US weighs up Hong Kong's special treatment
American's top diplomat launched a verbal salvo against China on Wednesday that was anything but diplomatic, attacking Beijing for its policies on health, defence, Taiwan and 5G and its "brutal" regime as he expressed US concern over certifying Hong Kong's autonomy.
During a regular press briefing in Washington, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo cited US worries that pro-democracy legislators in Hong Kong were "manhandled" this week while trying to stop an irregular legislative procedure by pro-Beijing legislators.
Pompeo, also a former CIA director, also called out the move to have leading Hong Kong activists like United Democrats founder Martin Lee and entrepreneur and media owner Jimmy Lai "hauled into court".
"Actions like these make it more difficult to assess that Hong Kong remains highly autonomous from mainland China," Pompeo said. "We're closely watching what is going on there." (SCMP.com)
- Lord God Almighty, we join forces today and we ask that You would grant Your divine wisdom in all matters related to our interactions with Communist China. Through the clear, unhindered release of the Coronavirus worldwide, the mask of "friendliness" has now been stripped off of the face of the government in Beijing, and we see them to be the tyrant dictatorship that they are.
We ask that, even so, Your Hand of protection would rest upon Your children who live in that great land; and we ask for Your Hand of guidance to rest upon President Trump and upon Secretary of State Mike Pompeo as they navigate these very tricky waters. In Your name we offer this prayer, amen.

When the majority of stars reach the end of their life, they make their own funeral pyre, throwing off most of their remaining gas in a glorious last display of their immense power and leaving behind a dense, cinderlike core known as a white dwarf. But what becomes of any planets orbiting such a star? This question has been difficult to answer, but now scientists say they have detected the suspected remnant of a white dwarf world, a first-of-its-kind discovery that could offer fascinating insights into planetary systems' dying days across the universe.
In a paper published in Science, a team led by Christopher Manser of the University of Warwick in England reports unprecedented observations of a white dwarf slightly larger than Earth but containing almost the mass of the sun. Called SDSS J1228+1040, the star is located about 410 light-years away, and it is more specifically known as a "polluted" white dwarf, owing to the heavy elements astronomers can detect raining down onto its surface. That material is believed to originate from a disk of gas that surrounds the object. And within that disk, the paper's authors say, they have found a planet's ghostly remains.
"It's like the iron core left behind by a larger body that's been ripped apart," Manser says. "The crust and mantle have come off this body. We're left with this iron core orbiting around that has a high internal strength holding it together, not just gravity."
. . . Perhaps, however, similar objects await discovery around other white dwarfs. Whether studying them singly or in multitudes, such heavy-metal worlds may offer grim previews of our own solar system's future, when our sun's fuel runs out some five billion years hence. "It's really exciting, because this is sort of the missing piece, if you like, [of white dwarf planetary systems]," says Sarah Casewell of the University of Leicester in England, who was not involved in the research. "We know big things can survive, and we know tiny things get destroyed. This is quite a sizable rocky object that has survived."

'Beautiful Moment': Dying Birth Mother Meets the Twin Boys She Had Placed for Adoption Years Before
A recent Humans of New York story about a dying birth mother's reunion with her twin sons has been touching hearts. A post on the group's Facebook page explained how the woman's daughter learned of her brothers' existence, and how she helped reunite them with their birth mother.
According to the post, the unnamed dying woman's daughter noticed that her mother had a special ring with birthstones in it for each of her children. "I remember noticing at a young age that my mom had two extra stones in her mother's ring. They were two rubies," the daughter (who was also not named) said. "And she explained to me that they signified my twin brothers. She told me that she'd given birth to them when she was 22 but was unable to care for them. So she gave them up to another family."
