1. Netanyahu talks annexation with Kushner; US said to want to 'slow the process' - Times of Israel

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Benny Gantz held separate talks Monday with top US officials about West Bank annexation plans. Netanyahu has stated repeatedly in recent weeks that he intends to move ahead with the annexation of parts of the West Bank, beginning next month.

Netanyahu held a conference call with Jared Kushner, President Donald Trump's adviser and son-in-law, who played a key role in drafting Trump's "Peace to Prosperity" plan for peace, which was unveiled at the White House in late January. Also on the call were Avi Berkowitz, the White House envoy on Israeli-Palestinian peace efforts, US Ambassador to Israel David Friedman and Israeli Ambassador to the US Ron Dermer. That session came after Gantz met with Friedman, Hebrew media reports said.

2. Netanyahu urges doubtful settler chiefs to get behind 'historic' West Bank plan - Times of Israel

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told recalcitrant settler leaders Tuesday they should get behind the "historic opportunity" to annex parts of the West Bank under the Trump administration's peace plan. Netanyahu also said he is committed to negotiating with the Palestinians on the basis of the US proposal, his office said.

The sides met at the Prime Minister's Office in Jerusalem. Opposition from a majority of Israeli mayors in the West Bank to the Trump plan's envisioning of a Palestinian state has crescendoed in recent days in a manner that has reportedly upset the White House.

3. Bennett to Netanyahu: 'Why don't you deduct PA's payments to terrorists?' - Israel National News

Yamina chairman MK Naftali Bennett criticized Prime Minister Netanyahu following the cancellation of the decision to offset the salaries the Palestinian Authority (PA) pays to terrorists and their families.

"Mr. Prime Minister, why don't you offset payments to the murders of Israelis?" Bennett wrote Tuesday evening in his Twitter account.

"I submitted the full report to the National Security Council on December 31, 2019, as required by law," Bennett noted. "To make the actual offsets you have to convene the Cabinet and do it."

"For some reason, you have not done this so far. But it is not too late. Everything is ready for approval. Just give a directive. It is up to you. We will follow," the former defense minister added.

4. Virus cases see largest spike in a month with 116 new diagnoses in 24 hours- Times of Israel

With government officials warning of the need to tighten restrictions in the face of a possible second coronavirus wave, the death toll from the pandemic rose to 290 Tuesday evening as the number of daily cases saw the largest spike in a month.

The death toll was up from 285 Monday night and 287 Tuesday morning, official figures showed.

The latest update stated that a total of 17,285 people had been infected with the virus, up by 116 from Monday night. The number of active cases, which dipped below 2,000 last week, continued to grow and stood at 2,055.

Of them, 29 were listed as in serious condition and on ventilators. Forty were in moderate condition, and the rest were displaying mild or no symptoms.

5. 'Take Down Bibi': IDF Soldier Arrested for Posting Death Threat Against Netanyahu - Jewish Press

An IDF soldier was arrested Monday night for posting a death threat against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The Police stated that the Lahav 433's cyber unit arrested a 21-year-old suspect from the north of the country on suspicion of publishing a post threatening to harm the prime minister.

The soldier said on social media that "there is a solution and it is to take down Bibi. It unjustly happened in the past to a prime minister." He was relating to the 1995 assassination of Prime Minister Yitzchak Rabin.

"But now that we have a prime minister who is taking down his citizens. Apparently, this [an assassination] will happen again, and rightly so, and the cops who are his slaves should also be stoned to death. This is the solution," the suspect added.

The soldier has reportedly previously posted violent messages against Netanyahu and the government.

The Daily Brief

1. Laura Ingraham says riots are part of 'coordinated effort to eventually overthrow' the US government - Fox News

Laura Ingraham opened "The Ingraham Angle" Monday by reacting to the violent protesters who she accused of trying to "murder America" as the country headed for another night of looting and violence.

"All people of good faith agree that what happened to George Floyd was heinous and depraved, it was murder," Ingraham began, "But that's not what we are seeing on our violent streets. We are not seeing outrage really expressed about that. And that's not what the criminals and the domestic terrorists are perpetrating as they use Mr. Floyd's killing to try and murder America.

"Earlier in the day, Floyd's own brother issued a call for peace . . . but this isn't what Antifa wants or cares about and it's not what other radical elements want. They want war," Ingraham went on. "They want to tear down what took us almost 250 years to build, literally and figuratively." (Read more)

- Father God, the hate and violence must be stopped. We ask you to give us revelation and understanding about the time and season we are in right now. There is such obvious coordination of these domestic terrorists, we ask that they would fall into their own pit that they intend to drag our nation into. Let us pray and cry out in repentance and for redemption. In Jesus name.

"The nations have sunk down in the pit which they made; In the net which they hid, their own foot is caught. The Lord is known by the judgment He executes; The wicked is snared in the work of his own hands." (Psalm 9:15-16)

2. George Floyd protests: Rioters target police across US; 4 shot in St. Louis, 1 in Vegas, Bronx hit-and-run caught on video - Fox News

Police officers across the U.S. were targeted in shootings and vehicular attacks Monday night as protests continued in major cities for the seventh night despite President Trump's vow to clamp down on violence.

The demonstrations on Monday marked a week of unrest since unarmed black man George Floyd died when a white Minneapolis officer jammed his knee into the back his neck in a shocking incident caught on video. Despite tens of thousands marching peacefully in demonstrations against police brutality and systemic racism, protests over Floyd's death have been nonetheless overshadowed by violence, looting and vandalism that has engulfed U.S. cities.

In St. Louis, Mo., Monday night, four police officers were shot during protests in the city's downtown area, two in the leg, one in the foot and one in the arm. Police Chief John Hayden said they were hit by gunfire by "some coward" while standing on the side of a police line. (Read more)

- Oh, Lord our God, we send forth strong angels to build a wall of defense around the officers who are doing their job of protecting life and property from a spirit of lawlessness. Dear Lord, deliver us from this obvious chaos planned to disrupt our cities and discredit our President. Thank You for your mercy and protection.

"Bless the Lord, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, harkening unto the voice of his word." (Psalms 103:20)

3. Looters fatally shoot retired St. Louis police captain on Facebook Live video - NY Post

A retired police captain was fatally shot by looters in St. Louis on Tuesday - in a chilling incident apparently aired on Facebook Live.

David Dorn, a 77-year-old former cop who had spent half his life on the Missouri force, was shot dead on the sidewalk in front of a pawnshop early Tuesday amid violent protests after the Minnesota police-brutality killing of George Floyd - and several people, including a state pol, said they watched Dorn's murder unfold in a clip on the social media platform, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch said.

"I just seen a man die on live man! Smh," state Rep. Rasheen Aldridge wrote on Facebook. Another person suggested that as Dorn lay dying, no one helped him, instead choosing to record his death. (Read more)

- Lord, we groan in our inner-most parts as we hear of one horrific act of violence and terror after another against the innocent. Abba, please grant comfort and shalom to David Dorn's loved ones in their agony. As the spirit of cold-blooded murder, violence and lawlessness has been unleashed in our cities, we continue to pray for our deliverance from evil and justice for the perpetrators. Lord, only You can melt the icy hearts of those that have succumbed to this demonic dynamic. May You bring elements of Your church to repentance, as well, for standing by as violence and terror have been unleashed upon the unborn in our nation since 1973.

"In every case that comes before you from your people who live in the cities-whether bloodshed or other concerns of the law, commands, decrees or regulations-you are to warn them not to sin against the LORD; otherwise his wrath will come on you and your people. Do this, and you will not sin." ( 2 Chronicles 19:10 )

4. Customs and Border Patrol deploys troops to DC - The Hill

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) have deployed troops in Washington, D.C., officials announced Monday, as President Trump mobilized the military in the capital city to address the protests over George Floyd's death.

CBP Acting Commissioner Mark Morgan posted on Twitter that the law enforcement's personnel has been sent to the National Capital Region "to assist law enforcement partners."

"These 'protests' have devolved into chaos & acts of domestic terrorism by groups of radicals & agitators," he tweeted. "@CBP is answering the call and will work to keep DC safe." (Read more)

- Thank you, Holy Spirit, for your wisdom for President Trump; may he have ears to hear Your voice over the din of voices around him. Lord, select law enforcement and military personnel that you want in D.C. Guard and guide each one; surround them with warring angels, and minister to the families they have left behind. May state officials unite with our President in restoring law and order in Your perfect manner and timing. Bless and comfort George Floyd's family, and allow their voices to continue to be heard. May George Floyd's life and tragic death not be in vain but provide the momentum for true, lasting racial healing in our land.

Also in Judah the hand of God was on the people to give them unity of mind to carry out what the king and his officials had ordered, following the word of the LORD.
(2 Chronicles 30:12)

5. Schumer calls for DOD watchdog probe of treatment of protesters outside White House - The Hill

Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) said on Tuesday that the Defense Department inspector general should probe the treatment of protesters outside of the White House on Monday.

"Secretary [of Defense Mark] Esper, General [Mark] Milley should not allow the U.S. military to come within a country mile of these ugly stunts. The administration is using the military as a tool to intimidate American citizens and the Department of Defense IG must immediately launch an investigation into how the U.S military was used and whether it was consistent with the laws of our nation," Schumer said from the Senate floor.

Schumer's demand for an investigation comes after a chaotic scene outside of the White House on Monday. (Read more)

- Father God, we do not really know what is true. We do know that 100% of what Chuck Schumer says will be very hostile to our President. In this situation, we ask for Your righteousness to quell the chaos and accusations and that You, Holy One, lead and guide our President every step of the way through this difficult time.

"Let those be put to shame and brought to dishonor Who seek after my life; Let those be turned back and brought to confusion Who plot my hurt." (Psalm 35:4)

6. Protests across the U.S. prompt concerns over exacerbating the world's worst coronavirus outbreak - CNBC

As the U.S. erupted in protest over the weekend in response to the police killing of George Floyd, an unarmed black man, health officials are warning that mass gatherings will likely exacerbate the coronavirus outbreak in the most vulnerable communities.

"I think there's going to be a lot of challenges coming out of the events of the past week," former Food and Drug Administration Commissioner Dr. Scott Gottlieb said in an interview on "Squawk Box" on Monday. "One of them's going to be that probably chains of transmission will have gotten lit by large gatherings. I don't think there's really a question about that."

City and state officials across the country echoed Gottlieb's concerns over the weekend, calling for protesters to get tested and continue to practice social distancing. Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan told CNN on Sunday that there's "no question" the protests will lead to spread of the virus, but that's the "next step" for officials after quelling the protests and violence.

"If you were out protesting last night, you probably need to go get a Covid test this week," Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms said Saturday at a news conference. "There is still a pandemic in America that's killing black and brown people at higher numbers." (Read more)

- Dear Lord, we do not come into agreement with this prediction of an increase of COVID-19 after these riots. We do not come into agreement with words predicting a return of the virus in the fall. We speak out, in the name of Jesus, that in spite of the lawlessness abounding, that this virus has responded to the prayers of the saints to retreat and not be a threat to our country anymore. Amen.

"You will also decree a thing, and it will be established for you; so light will shine on your ways."  (Job 22:28)

7. Police fatally shoot woman who tried to attack officer after brother was charged with assisting ISIS - Washington Examiner

A woman was fatally shot by police after charging an officer with a butcher knife just days after her brother was charged with attempting to help the Islamic State.

Temple Terrace Police were called to talk to a woman, identified as Heba Momtaz Al-Azhari, on Friday. She did not show any signs of distress while talking to the officer but later began brandishing a knife and tried to attack him with it, according to police. The officer then fatally shot the woman, who later died at a hospital.

Part of the incident was caught on a surveillance camera and comes as the country faces mass protests over the death of George Floyd. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating the situation. (Read more)

- Father God, we thank You that this woman was stopped but are grieved that she has died in this manner. At a time when so much rioting is going on in our cities, we are grateful that other enemies of our country are being apprehended. Lord, we pray those in our country who have another god will turn to You and leave their destructive lifestyle.

"Lord, my strength and my fortress, my refuge in time of distress, to you the nations will come from the ends of the earth and say, 'Our ancestors possessed nothing but false gods, worthless idols that did them no good.'"(Jeremiah 16:19)

8. Federal Criminal Complaint Charges Illinois Man With Traveling To Minnesota To Riot, Possession Of Explosive Devices - Justice.gov

United States Attorney Erica H. MacDonald today announced a federal criminal complaint against MATTHEW LEE RUPERT, 28, charging him with civil disorder, carrying on a riot, and possession of unregistered destructive devices. RUPERT, who was taken into federal custody earlier today in Chicago, Illinois, will make his initial appearance later today before Chief Judge Rebecca R. Pallmeyer in U.S. District Court in Chicago, Illinois.

According to the allegations in the complaint, on May 28, 2020, RUPERT posted messages on his Facebook account referencing the public protests occurring in the Twin Cities following the death of George Floyd, including one that stated, "I'm going to Minneapolis tomorrow who coming only goons I'm renting hotel rooms." On May 29, 2020, RUPERT posted a self-recorded cell phone video to his Facebook account indicating that he was in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

In the video, RUPERT can be seen passing out explosive devices he possessed, encouraging others to throw his explosives at law enforcement officers, actively damaging property, appearing to light a building on fire and looting businesses in Minneapolis. (Read more)

- Hallelujah, Lord, that Mr. Rupert was apprehended and that he left behind a trail of evidence. May other agitators from out of state, and within their own state, be exposed and prosecuted, especially their handlers. Father, there are reports of car bombs and autos full of weapons and ammunition. May the Lord's "Angelic Bomb Squads" descend into the cities with spiritual floodlights, revealing the locations of the vehicles, as well as any stashes of bricks and rocks to enable mayhem, to the FBI and local law enforcement. May all bombs and weapons be supernaturally disabled and no one injured. In Jesus name!

Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. (John 3:20)

9. DOJ files formal appeal with Supreme Court over House access to Mueller grand jury material - Fox News

The Justice Department has formally asked the Supreme Court to block a lower court order to turn over secret grand jury material from Special Counsel Robert Mueller's Russia investigation to a House committee.

A lower federal court in March had ruled the material could be given to the House Judiciary Committee. The justices last month temporarily stayed that congressional Democrats' request in order to give the Justice Department time to file its appeal.

"In light of the national prominence of this grand-jury investigation, the separation-of-powers concerns raised by the decision below, and the potential damage that decision could inflict on 'the proper functioning of our grand jury system,'" said the Justice Department, "this Court's review is warranted." (Read more)

- Oh Father, will they ever stop? We, the people of this great nation, are becoming beyond tired of listening to this non-stop accusation. It seems the enemies of our President will not stop trying to destroy him. We thank You for defending our President and ask that this entire situation is put to rest very quickly. We also ask You to soon change the tune of these lost souls in the Democrat party.

"Oh, send out Your light and Your truth! Let them lead me. Let them bring me to Your holy hill And to your tabernacle." (Psalm 43:3)

10. Trump administration lawyers call for appeals court to force dismissal of Flynn case - Washington Examiner

Trump administration lawyers called on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit to instruct the judge presiding over retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn's case to allow the Justice Department to drop its charges against the former Trump national security adviser.

Solicitor General Noel Francisco, the top litigator for the executive branch, filed a 45-page brief with the appeals court on Monday, asking its judges to agree with the petition for writ of mandamus filed by Flynn's defense team and to tell Judge Emmet Sullivan to allow the Justice Department to dismiss. The solicitor general was joined in his brief by acting U.S. Attorney for D.C. Michael Sherwin, Assistant U.S. Attorney Jocelyn Ballantine, Assistant Attorney General Brian Benczkowski, and other top Trump administration lawyers. (Read more)

- Father, You are the author of justice. We ask for an abundance of justice to be released from Your throne, bringing everyone involved in this continued attack against General Flynn to their knees before a Holy God. This seems to be nothing more than a time and money pit designed to waste it all. Let justice shine forth!

"For look! The wicked bend their bow, They make ready their arrow on the string, That they may shoot secretly at the upright in heart. . . The Lord is in His holy temple, The Lord's throne is in heaven . . . " (Psalm 11:2, 4a)

Religious Leaders, hmmm

President Trump holding a Bible in front of the rioter-torched St. John's Episcopal Church across from the White House has sparked a riot of words. Democratic Party leaders trashed the president for hypocrisy-once again accusing another of exactly their own actions. But the faith community also piled on Trump, as the Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Central Florida Greg Brewer tweeted, "This is blasphemy in real time." Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde of the Episcopal Diocese of Washington told CNN that she was "outraged" because Trump's actions were contrary to the teachings of Jesus, saying that Christ lived a life of non-violence, but she stopped short of condemning the violence of rioters.

These same people who say the Bible is not a prop for a photo opportunity were silent when Hillary Clinton, the previous president, and Bill Clinton showed up at churches carrying their Bibles. But since it's Trump, it's unacceptable and blasphemy. Interesting tweet from a friend of mine, Joel Richardson: "So many preachers expressing their disgust because POTUS used a Bible as a photo prop. Sorry guys, you're not the only one who gets to use the Bible as a photo prop." To me, Joel's statement here is far deeper than it appears on the surface. If pastors were using the Bible for more than a prop, perhaps we wouldn't see so many systemic problems around the country because people would be living out their faith in truth and in love.

Franklin Graham, Billy Graham's son, seemed to understand Trump's message. Franklin tweeted: "After his speech from the Rose Garden Monday afternoon, President Donald J. Trump made a statement by walking through Lafayette Park to St. John's Episcopal Church that had been vandalized and partially burned Sunday night. He surprised those following him by holding up a Bible in front of the church. Thank you, President Trump. God and His Word are the only hope for our nation. "For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart" (Hebrews 4:12)."

Christ had a view on the religious leaders of his time. In Matthew 23:27-28, He said, "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which indeed appear beautiful outwardly, but inside are full of dead men's bones and all uncleanness. Even so you also outwardly appear righteous to men, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness." Part of the problem with the religious leadership of our time is that they cannot even agree on what is sound doctrine, leaving the flock scattered and confused. And another part of the problem is that both political and religious leaders often appear to judge others from the content of their own hearts, rather than against the standard of God's Word.

Israel's momentous decision: The settlements or the Saudis?

By Joel Rosenberg

Israel is rapidly approaching a momentous decision.

Should our new unity government move quickly to apply Israeli sovereignty over swaths of hotly contested territory known in the Bible as "Judea and Samaria," and to the international community as the "West Bank" of the Jordan River? Or should we defer discussions of unilateral annexation for the time being and place a higher priority on establishing full peace treaties with Gulf Arab states that are steadily warming towards normalization?

Put another away: Do we want the settlements now, or peace with the Saudis?

It is clear where Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stands. While no Israeli leader has done more to promote closer ties with the Gulf States than he, Netanyahu is pursuing an "annexation first" strategy. He believes that Israel has an "historic opportunity" to establish permanent sovereignty over up to 30% of the biblical heartland with the consent and coordination of the Trump administration. It is, he says, "an opportunity that should not be missed," one that will certainly evaporate next January if US President Donald Trump loses re-election and Joe Biden becomes president.

It is not clear where Defense Minister (and alternate Prime Minister) Benny Gantz stands. He, too, is on record as supporting annexation and signed a coalition agreement allowing for a vote of the Knesset on the issue as early as July. But he has also said that he would only move forward "in coordination with the international community." Both in public and in private, he has expressed a desire to sequence events in such a way as to maximize the opportunity for peace with the Gulf States. What's more, he has expressed deep admiration for the role Jordan's King Abdullah has played as a peacemaker, declaring on the campaign trail last October, "I'm pledging here that when I lead the State of Israel, I'll do all in my power to strengthen the peace agreement with Jordan and move relations with Jordan forward."

A front-page story in the Hebrew edition of Israel Hayom on May 27 argued that Israeli leaders do not really have to choose. Citing unnamed sources in the region, the article suggested that Arab leaders have privately signaled both Washington and Jerusalem that while they will publicly criticize any Israeli move towards annexation, they will actually be fine with it.

Is that true? Not according to Jordan's King Abdullah II, who warns annexation "will lead to a massive conflict with Jordan." Could that include suspension of its peace treaty with Israel. "I don't want to make threats and create an atmosphere of loggerheads," he told a German publication, "but we are considering all options."

OVER THE past several years, I have traveled extensively throughout the Arab world, on my own as well as hosting delegations of American Evangelical leaders on bridge-building trips. Even though I am a dual US-Israeli citizen (and have two sons who have served in the IDF), I have been afforded the remarkable opportunity to build friendships with - and spend many hours in private conversations with - Jordan's King Abdullah II, Egypt's President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, UAE Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and their most senior advisers and cabinet members, as well as senior officials in Bahrain.

I specifically asked my contacts about the Israel Hayom article. One Arab official after another gave me an earful about how completely off-base it was.

"Not only is this article not true or accurate, it's quite literally the opposite of what is happening," one senior Arab official in a Gulf state told me. "Moderate Arab countries are warning of the consequences of annexation."

To clarify, I asked the official to comment on the accuracy of this statement. What if the Israeli government doesn't annex all 30% of Area C, but "simply" decides to annex something that everyone knows will ultimately stay in Israel's hands in a final peace agreement with the Palestinians, the cities of Ariel and/or Ma'ale Adumim, for example? While there would be a great deal of criticism in the Arab world and Europe at first, wouldn't it eventually blow over, as with the American Embassy move?

"No, this is not accurate," the Arab official replied emphatically. "This is delusional thinking. It will not just blow over - it will harm what Israel claims it wants, better relationships with Gulf Arabs."
