President Trump Signs EO; Improves Foster Care

Trump signs executive order to strengthen foster care, bolster faith-based partnerships - Christian Post.com

President Donald Trump signed an executive order seeking to strengthen the nation's foster care system which calls on states and cities to work with faith-based and other charities at a time when organizations that uphold traditional views of marriage are facing increasing hostility from Democratic lawmakers and left-leaning groups. Trump's order signed Wednesday highlights several areas of concern where the president is calling for more research and improvement by federal and state agencies, such as the need to bolster "robust partnerships" between community organizations, improve access to resources for caregivers, and improve federal oversight on welfare requirements.

Although the number of children in foster care in the U.S. has declined in recent years, there are still more than 430,000 children in foster care nationwide and over 124,000 eligible for adoption. The president stressed that "too many" children in the foster care system have to wait years before finding a permanent family.

"In recent years, approximately 20,000 young people have aged out of foster care each year in the United States," the order states. "Research has shown that young people who age out of the foster care system are likely to experience significant, and significantly increased, life challenges."

"Several factors have contributed to the number of children who wait in foster care for extended periods. First, state and local child welfare agencies often do not have robust partnerships with private community organizations, including faith-based organizations," the order stressed. "Second, those who step up to be resource families for children in foster care - including kin, guardians, foster parents, and adoptive parents - may lack adequate support."

A third reason, the order adds, is that the "processes and systems meant to help children and families in crisis have instead created bureaucratic barriers that make it more difficult for these children and families to get the help they need." (Read more)

- In the name of Jesus we pray for each and every abandoned child and we ask Lord God that you would surround them with your love, your joy, and your peace. Reveal yourself to these little ones in a supernatural way that they may know you and be a testimony of your goodness. We bind the spirit of rejection off of these children in the name of Jesus and we loose the spirit of acceptance over each and everyone of them. Amen.

"May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had, so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God." (Romans 15: 5-7)

Focus on Israel

1. No final decision on Israeli annexation after 3 days of White House talks - Times of Israel

The White House has not made a final decision in a round of talks about whether to back Israel's plan to annex parts of the West Bank, a senior White House official said.

"There is yet no final decision on next steps for implementing the Trump plan," the official said, adding only that the talks had been "productive."

The discussions have concluded for the time being after three days, with US Ambassador to Israel David Friedman and US Mideast envoy Avi Berkowitz heading to Israel for more work on the issue.

The Times of Israel reported early this month that the White House was "highly unlikely" to green light Israeli annexation by July 1, that more work was needed on the mapping of the territories, and that Berkowitz and Jared Kushner would likely first come to Jerusalem to discuss outstanding issues.

This week's White House discussions reportedly also included senior adviser Kushner and national security adviser Robert O'Brien. It was not clear whether US President Donald Trump was actively involved in the meetings.

A Channel 13 news report last week said Friedman, who flew back to the US for the meetings, strongly backs Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's declared intention to go ahead with the move starting July 1, but Kushner was said to be more ambivalent.

2. Special Envoy Avi Berkowitz lands in Israel ahead of planned annexation - Jerusalem Post

Special Envoy Avi Berkowitz landed in Israel on Friday ahead of the planned Israeli annexation of 30% of West Bank and the Jordan Valley, which can start as early as July 1.

According to several reports, the US is eager to obtain an agreement between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Alternate Prime Minister and Defense Minister Benny Gantz on what sort of annexation will eventually take place.

The annexation is meant to be the first step leading to the formation of a Palestinian state.

Berkowitz wrote in his twitter account, in Hebrew, that he is happy to be in Israel and wished his followers Shabbat Shalom.

3. Report: Netanyahu sovereignty plan won't include Jordan Valley - Inside Israel -- Israel National News

Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's sovereignty plan will cover a far smaller area than originally envisioned, according to a report by Channel 12 Friday.

The sovereignty plan, which is expected to be formally introduced sometime after July 1st, had originally been modeled along the borders laid out by the Trump administration's Middle East peace plan.

That would entail Israel applying sovereignty over some 30% of Judea and Samaria, including most of the Jordan Valley, and virtually all Israeli towns in the area.

But a report by Channel 12 citing a senior Palestinian Authority official claims that Israel has signaled that it is preparing to pursue a scaled-down sovereignty plan, one which will extend only to a handful of settlement blocs - and exclude the Jordan Valley entirely.

According to the senior PA official, Mossad chief Yossi Cohen's recent visit to Jordan relayed a message to the Hashemite Kingdom that Israel will not apply sovereignty over the Jordan Valley - a major bone of contention between Israel and Jordan's government.

In addition, the source claimed that, at this stage, Israel indicated that limit the application of sovereignty to just two or three settlement blocs, though no specific blocs were named.

Details of the upcoming sovereignty plan remain under wraps, and there has been no official statement regarding Friday's report.

4. Hamas: Israel Annexation of West Bank Is Declaration of War - jerusalemonline.com

Hamas will consider an extension of sovereignty over parts of the West Bank by Israel a declaration of war against Palestinians, Abu Ubaida, the spokesman for a Hamas's Izz el-Deen al-Qassam Brigades, said on Thursday.

"The resistance considers the decision to annex the West Bank and the Jordan Valley to be a declaration of war on our people", Ubaida said, as quoted by the Turkish Daily Sabah newspaper.

5. Bronze cross among finds at ancient Christian settlement uncovered in Israel - Christian Today

Archaeologists in Israel have found what they believe to be an ancient Christian settlement dating back to the 7th century AD.

Pi Mazuva was first discovered in 2007 and ongoing research at the site has brought many artefacts to light, offering insights into the nature of the settlement and who lived there.

A paper published in Atiqot, the research journal of the Israel Antiquities Authority, details some of the findings that have been dug up at the Byzantine site, including a bronze cross, an ashlar limestone lintel with a cross engraving, and pottery dating to the sixth and seventh centuries.

Some of the pottery is local to the area, while other pieces were imported. Some of the pottery finds were adorned with crosses, Atiqot said.

Another interesting find at the site was a "high-quality, colorful, seventh-century CE mosaic floor adorned with floral motifs, animal and human figures, and two fragmentary Greek inscriptions".

The Daily Brief

1. House approves DC statehood bill, GOP calls move Dem 'power grab' - Fox News

The House of Representatives on Friday voted to make Washington D.C. the 51st state, a move cheered by Washingtonians and Democrats as a long-overdue acknowledgment of full citizenship, while Republicans panned the effort as a Democratic Party power grab.

The vote was 232-180. The vote fell largely along party-lines: Rep. Collin Peterson, D-Minn., one of the most conservative Democrats in the House, was the lone Democrat to oppose the bill.

The bill is presumed dead on arrival in the GOP-led Senate and is also opposed by President Trump, who would likely wield his veto pen if the bill ever got to his desk. (Read more)

- Father God, in the name of Jesus we come against this power grab by the United States Congress and we say no to the continued tyranny from the United States Congress. We cancel this bill that it would not be approved by the Senate or the President in Jesus name. Amen.

"Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them."(Ephesians 5:11)

2. Senate Confirms 200th Trump Judge: President Has 'Delivered on His Promise,' Author Says - Christian Headlines.com

The U.S. Senate confirmed the 200th federal court nominee of President Trump on Wednesday, continuing a fast pace that exceeds any Republican chief executive in modern history.

The Senate confirmed Cory T. Wilson to the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals on a vote of 52-48, bringing the number of successfully nominated Trump judges to 200: 53 appeals court judges, 143 district court judges, two Supreme Court justices and two U.S. Court of International Trade judges.

The 53 appeals court judges is the most of any president in a single term since President Carter. The 200 confirmed judges is more than any Republican president in a single term in modern history, outpacing Presidents George W. Bush, George H.W. Bush, Reagan and Nixon.

"The appointed judges are among the finest legal minds who will interpret the law as it is written, not make it up based on their own politics and policy preferences," Carrie Severino of the Judicial Crisis Network tweeted. Severino is an author who clerked under Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.

Trump, she said, has "has DELIVERED on his promise to appoint constitutionalist judges, saving us from hundreds of policy-driven, liberal judges that a President Hillary Clinton surely would have appointed. The 200-judge milestone is a tremendous accomplishment and will have an impact on our federal courts for decades to come," Severino tweeted. (Read more)

- Father God we thank you for a new judicial appointee. And in the name of Jesus we ask that your wisdom and your guidance would go with this judge that they will rule righteously and justly according to your word. amen.

"And said to the judges, Take heed what you do: for you judge not for man, but for the Lord, who is with you in the judgment." (2 Chronicles 19:6)

3. Statue Removal Is a 'Slippery Slope' to Socialism, Venezuelan Activist Warns- christianheadlines.com

Venezuelan activist and TikTok star Elizbeth Rogliani is likening the toppling of statues in American as part of the Black Lives Matter movement to the Venezuela Socialist movement.

"Why do I even worry about some silly statues coming down? Or some silly little street names changing? Why do I care? That's because the last time I didn't care about this I was a teenager," Rogliani said on TikTok, citing her personal experience.

"You guys think it can't happen to you. I've heard this so many times, but always be on guard," Rogliani cautioned. "Never believe something can't happen to you. You need to guard your country and your society, or it will be destroyed."

"We didn't believe it could happen to us," she continued. "Cubans warned us, yet it happened. And there's clearly a lot of people wanting to destroy the US." (Read more)

- Father God, we thank You that this voice is calling out to the youth of our nation to not be deceived. We repent of our sins and we ask You to turn our nation back to you, in Your name, amen.

4. President Trump: Next Stimulus Bill Will Be 'Very Generous' And Announced In A 'Couple Of Weeks' - Forbes

President Trump spoke with Joe St. George, National Political Editor & Washington Correspondent for Scripps, and he talked about the prospects of another stimulus package.

> > > To read this conversation, please go here.

- Father God, we are so thankful, as all Americans, for the generous stimulus package that President Trump is going to send us next month. Bless him abundantly for his thoughtfulness. In Jesus Name we pray.

"Show Your marvelous lovingkindness, O thou that saves by Your right hand them which put their trust in You from those that rise up against them." (Psalm 17:7)

5. Trump signs order expanding immigration restrictions to include H-1B, other guest-worker programs - Fox News

President Trump on Monday signed an executive order that significantly expands current immigration restrictions to include a number of guest-worker programs, including the H-1B visa -- an order the administration says will put Americans first for jobs as the economy emerges from coronavirus lockdowns.

Trump previously signed an order in April that restricted some green cards but held off from restricting guest-worker programs. While other travel restrictions at the time were meant to curb coronavirus risk, the stated purpose of the immigration order was to help Americans in the job market after the pandemic put millions out of work.

The new order extends the measure and goes further by pausing new H-1B tech worker visas, H-2B seasonal worker visas, certain J work and education exchange visitor visas and L executive transfer visas. It will be in effect until the end of the year and will not affect those who already have a visa, Fox News is told. (Read more)

- Righteous Father, how grateful we are that President Trump has signed his executive order expanding immigration restrictions to include H-1B and other guest-worker programs. We ask that the forces of darkness will be bound by the Blood of Jesus so there be no backlash to this action. We pray in the Name of Jesus.

"The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer, my God, may strength, in whom I will trust, my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower." (Psalm 18:2)

6. Trump administration asks Supreme Court to overturn Obamacare - POLITICO

The Trump administration on Thursday night urged the Supreme Court to strike down Obamacare, pushing forward with its attack on the health care law as millions of newly jobless Americans may come to depend on its coverage.

The Justice Department in a new legal brief argues Obamacare in its entirety became invalid when the previous Republican-led Congress axed the unpopular individual mandate penalty for uninsured people. The filing comes weeks after President Donald Trump confirmed his administration would continue to press for Obamacare's elimination, ignoring warnings from top aides about the risk of voter backlash in November.

"No further analysis is necessary; once the individual mandate and the guaranteed-issue and community-rating provisions are invalidated, the remainder of the ACA cannot survive," the Justice Department stated.

Trump's new legal brief offers fresh ammunition to Democrats and their presumptive presidential nominee Joe Biden, who believe their advantage on health care will help the party retake the White House and possibly the Senate this fall. On Wednesday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced plans to vote on legislation building on the Affordable Care Act, timing the bill to draw a contrast with Trump's legal attack on the law during the coronavirus emergency. (Read more)

- Father God, we pray that your wisdom would be with the judges of the Supreme Court as they debate and decide the fate of the Obamacare law. We pray your will be done in this situation in Jesus name, amen.

"Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil." (Proverbs 3:7)

7. House passes Dems' sweeping police-reform bill 1 day after Senate GOP bill stalls - Fox News

The House approved a wide-ranging police-reform bill Thursday night, by a vote of 236-181, sending it to the Senate, one day after Democrats stalled a GOP-backed bill there.

Senate Democrats blocked a more modest version of a police reform bill Wednesday, with 55 to 45 votes in favor of the legislation - the bill needed 60 votes to move forward.

Sens. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., Doug Jones, D-Ala., and Angus King, I-Maine, joined Republican senators in voting to pass the GOP-backed bill.

Senate procedure allowed Democrats to stall all debates prior to voting on the bill and were able to successfully block the legislation - with Senate Democrats anticipating the House bill potentially would take its place.

The House and Senate will need to sync up on legislation before it can head to President Trump's desk for his possible signature. (Read more)

- Father God, in Jesus name we come against this scheme of the enemy to exploit a man's death through the actions of some members of Congress. We bind the spirit of division in Congress and loose the spirit of UNITY that Congress can come together and do something productive for their constituents. Give our political leaders wisdom and guide their every move in Jesus name.

"Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves." (Philippians 2:3)

8. Local Arizona leaders tell visiting Trump his wall is working - Washington Examiner

Arizona leaders rained down praise on President Trump during a meeting by the U.S.-Mexico border Tuesday, touting how hundreds of miles of newly constructed barrier have boosted public safety and led to a decline in illegal crossings. "I worked on the road back in the early 2000s, and I understand firsthand the calls for service related to undocumented immigrants and how high those calls for service were," Yuma, Arizona, Police Chief Susan Smith told Trump during the briefing. "After the border enhancements were put in place, I can tell you we saw a marked decline in many of those calls associated with undocumented immigrants, such as load vehicles coming across with drugs and humans, human trafficking, stolen vehicles." Yuma Mayor Doug Nicholls told Trump that if the 110 miles of new border barrier had not been installed along southwestern Arizona's border with Mexico and the border crisis that unfolded last year happened today, the coronavirus pandemic may have had a hugely negative impact on his city's 97,000 residents. "If you fast-forwarded that situation to today, and those families were coming through with COVID-19, that would be 5,200 people coming through my community potentially with COVID-19," said Nicholls, a Republican. "So, it's simple math. The wall prevents people from coming - that prevents the number of exposures we can have to COVID-19. From a local perspective, that helps our community." "You're the only president in my 23-year career that has actually come down to the border multiple times to look at - assess what actually needs to be done," said Brandon Judd, an agent who started his career in Arizona and is president of the National Border Patrol Council, which represents approximately 15,000 agents. (Read more)

- Lord God, we praise You for guiding President Trump to construct this wall across the southern border between the United States and Mexico. We honor our President for the many lives he has saved by the wall being in place. Strengthen this effort with Your power as the workers continue to complete this wall. In the Name of Jesus.

"The voice of the Lord is upon the waters: the God of glory thunders: the Lord is upon many waters." (Psalm 29:3)

9. CDC adds 3 new coronavirus symptoms to list - Fox News

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) appears to have recently added three new symptoms of the novel coronavirus to its ongoing list. Congestion or runny nose, nausea, and diarrhea now join the federal health agency's list that already included fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell and sore throat. CLICK HERE FOR FULL CORONAVIRUS COVERAGE

"This list does not include all possible symptoms. CDC will continue to update this list as we learn more about COVID-19," per the CDC.

The new symptoms were quietly added, with one news outlet reporting that the changes were made on May 13. (Read more)

- Father in heaven, put out Your hand upon all the false claims of this virus. God, lift this curse off of our land, so that the truth can be blasted throughout all this country. We pray in the name of Jesus, amen.

"Deliver us from our enemies, O my God: defend us from them that rise up against us. Deliver us from the workers of iniquity, and save us from bloody men."  (Psalm 59:1-2)

10. For the 20th Straight Year, Americans Say Abortion is 'Morally Wrong,' Gallup Shows - Christian Headlines.com

A plurality of Americans say abortion is morally wrong, according to Gallup's annual Values and Beliefs survey, which also shows a record percentage of Americans saying divorce is morally acceptable.

The poll, conducted May 1-13 and released Tuesday, shows that 47 percent of Americans say abortion is morally wrong and 44 percent say it's morally acceptable. Although neither percentage is a record, it continues a two-decade trend: The percentage of those who say it's morally wrong has been higher than the "morally acceptable" position every year since the question was first asked in 2001.

Last year, 50 percent said abortion was morally wrong and 42 percent morally acceptable. When the question was first asked in 2001, 45 percent said it was morally wrong and 42 percent morally permissible.

The poll also shows that on four family-related issues - divorce, sex between unmarried individuals, having a baby outside of marriage, and polygamy - a record-high percentage of Americans say each one is morally permissible.

A record-high of 77 percent say divorce is morally permissible and a record-low of 18 percent say it is morally wrong. Four percent say it depends on the situation. When the poll was first conducted in 2001, 59 percent said divorce was OK, 28 percent said it was wrong and 12 percent said it depends. (Read more)

- Father in heaven, we ask that You follow this to the very end of making it a decree that there will be no more abortions being legal. We pray President Trump will give an executive order "No more killings of innocent babies by the act of abortion." In the Name of Jesus we pray.

"In thee, O Lord, do we put our trust: let us never be ashamed: deliver us in Your righteousness. Bow down Your ear to me; deliver me speedily: be my strong rock, for a house of defense to save me." (Psalm 31:1-2)

Trump signs executive order to protect American monuments, memorials and
statues

President Trump announced Friday that he signed an executive order to protect American monuments, memorials and statues and threatened those who try to pull them down with "long prison time."

"I just had the privilege of signing a very strong Executive Order protecting American Monuments, Memorials, and Statues - and combatting recent Criminal Violence," Trump tweeted. "Long prison terms for these lawless acts against our Great Country!"

The new order enforces laws prohibiting the desecration of public monuments, the vandalism of government property, and recent acts of violence, withholds federal support tied to public spaces from state and local governments that have failed to protect public monuments, and withdraws federal grants for jurisdictions and law enforcement agencies that fail to stop their desecration.

It also provides assistance for protecting the federal statues.

Meanwhile on Friday evening, Attorney General Bill Barr directed the creation of a task force to counter anti-government extremists, specifically naming those who support the far-right "boogaloo" movement and those who identify as Antifa.

The task force will be headed by Craig Carpenito, the U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey, and Erin Nealy Cox, U.S. Attorney for the district of Northern Texas, and will be composed of U.S. Attorneys' Offices, the FBI and other relevant departments, according to a press release. The group will share information with local and state law enforcement and will provide training on identifying anti-government extremists, according to an internal Justice Department memo. About those polls

One of my favorite Bible verses is a warning from Christ concerning the latter days. It's found in Matthew 24:4 and says, "Take heed that no man deceive you." Saying that in the last days, perilous times shall come, the Apostle Paul echoes such a warning in 2 Timothy 3:13, "But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived." Deception is key to taking well-intended people off the track of what is right and good. To combat deception, we need discernment, which is found in the Holy Scriptures and under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. We need a lot of wisdom to discern these days. Those wishing to deceive often try to co-opt your support through peer pressure.

Have you noticed the way the media tries to ply your opinion? For example, various media will be conducting their own polls to show you what America is thinking. Take heed that they do not deceive you. ABC, MSNBC, CBS, Washington Post, LA Times, Chicago Tribune, New York Times-all of these and more will be conducting their "polls" to show you how America will vote on election day. Take them with a grain of salt because just as these outlets' stories are biased and passed off as unbiased news, so too, are their polls. Their sampling practices are weighted toward their bias. I know this from my days in politics. For example, a recent New York Times poll showing former Vice President Joe Biden with a 12 point lead over President Donald Trump, sampled 57% Democrats to 43% Republicans. Of course, Biden would lead.

When running a large political campaign, polling data is imperative. Accurate polling data can mean the difference between winning and losing in a tight race. It can give you trends, messaging guidance, issues, demographics and a whole lot more. But it has to be accurate or your entire campaign will be off. So politicians do not use media polls. They hire a polling company to conduct an accurate poll based on a scientifically drawn, unbiased sampling of the voters. The media, admittedly weighs their samplings toward a Democratic bias because they draw more voters from the Democratic voting base. Also, online polls are suspect because it is difficult to verify who is actually giving the information and how many times they are giving it.

Constitution.com reported in August 2016: "Media polls are driven by the desire to achieve a certain outcome. That is why you think Hillary is leading Trump by 10 points. The media is jerking our chain. DO NOT believe them. The only polls that can be believed are internal polls that are rarely made public." Rasmussen Reports was the only public pollster that I am aware of who got the 2016 election correct. For nearly 20 years, Rasmussen has tracked daily presidential approval. For June 24, 2020, Trump's approval rating was 47% compared with the previous president's 44% on the same day in 2012. Rasmussen is considered an outlier by the media pollsters. But we know what they do, don't we?
