Focus on Israel

1. IDF on high alert along northern border with Lebanon following recent fence crossings- Israel National News

IDF brass have increased the army's level of alert on the northern border with Lebanon in light of recent events along the security fence.

A security official said that three cases fence crossings have been recorded over the past month alone. "We can't afford to let our guard down in this sensitive area. Once someone cuts the fence in three [separate] locations, another time it's an ostensibly innocent Sudanese crossing the fence and today it is a seemingly "innocent" shepherd taking a walk in the area, not aware of warnings and continuing to march towards IDF posts. We will not stand for [such infractions] and so the order was given to [eliminate the threat] and the IDF acted effectively."

The security establishment estimates that hostile elements in Lebanon are trying to check the vigilance of Israel's security forces and are occasionally allowing "innocent" people to cross or even damage the security fence.

IDF soldiers on Sunday shot and wounded a suspected infiltrator after he illegally entered the country in the Har Dov (Shebaa Farms) area of the Golan Heights, across the closely-guarded Lebanese border, the Israeli military said.

2. After 508-day crisis, Israel's new government finally sworn in by Knesset - Times of Israel

Israel's 35th government was sworn in at the Knesset on Sunday, bringing an end to a 508-day political deadlock during which lawmakers were unable to cobble together a coalition. The Knesset voted 73-46 in favor of the new government.

Likud leader Benjamin Netanyahu was sworn in as prime minister and will head the government for the fifth term of his political career.

Blue and White chairman Benny Gantz was sworn in as "alternate prime minister and future prime minister" as well as minister of defense. Netanyahu promised from the podium to hand over the premiership to Gantz on November 17, 2021.

"We established the precise terms under which our agreement will be fulfilled and will not be fulfilled," Netanyahu said later in a Channel 12 interview, amid widespread skepticism that he will honor the deal. "I will fulfill exactly, but exactly, what is written in the agreement. It is my intention and my goal to do so. And there is no reason for me to say anything to you but, yes, that's what we will do."

3. IDF Soldiers Foil Terror Attack in Eastern Jerusalem - Jewish Press

Three Jerusalem Arabs were wounded on Friday evening during an attempted attack on an Israeli military post in eastern Jerusalem, according to the Israel Defense Forces. The suspects were treated by the Red Crescent.

According to the military, troops stationed at an outpost at the "Governor's House" compound in Abu Dis spotted the three suspects preparing to throw lit firebombs at the post and opened fire, thwarting the attack. No Israeli soldiers were wounded in the incident, according to the IDF.

This was the latest in a series of violent attacks perpetrated by Arabs against Israeli soldiers in recent weeks.

4. Thosands of Housing Units Approved for West Bank Jewish Settlement - Jerusalem Online

Israel Defense Minister Naftali Bennett has announced that he authorized the construction of 7,000 housing units in the city of Efrat in the West Bank.

"This morning I approved the construction of thousands of new housing units in Efrat in Gush Etzion," Bennett tweeted, saying he instructed the defense establishment to continue to strengthen settlements. "Construction momentum should not be stopped for a moment on the land."

Bennett's authorization is one step of the housing bureaucracy in Israel. The authority to actually build now moves to the Housing Ministry, where plans for the new neighborhood need to be submitted and approved.

Bennett's partner in the Yamina Party, former Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked, tweeted her support, saying the Justice Ministry worked for a long time to prepare the legal basis for what she called "an important move with strategic implications."

5. EU: We will not recognize any changes to '1967 borders' - Israel National News

The European Union's High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Josep Borrell, on Monday congratulated the new Israeli government but also made clear that the EU will not accept an Israeli move to apply sovereignty over parts of Judea and Samaria.

"The European Union congratulates the new government in Israel. Israel is a key partner for the European Union. We look forward to continuing working with the Israeli government in a constructive and comprehensive way, in the spirit of the longstanding friendship that binds us to Israel, in order to develop our relationship in all areas, in particular in matters such as COVID-19, education, research and development and any other area of mutual interest," Borrell said in a statement.

He made clear that the EU "is willing to support and facilitate resumed meaningful negotiations between the two parties, to resolve all final status issues and achieve a just and lasting peace. We stand ready to engage immediately with the new government and with all relevant stakeholders."

6. Pompeo, the coronavirus and the 'risks' of sovereignty - JNS.org

"Today, the public is informed. There is a deluge [of opinions] against the Palestinian cause. It is no longer just public support for normalization and building ties with Israel. [Our] public has turned against the Palestinians in general. Unfortunately, the Palestinians have lost. The Palestinians have not contributed anything. We can say that they are emotional people whose behavior is governed by their feelings."

Al-Ghoban added, "It is in our strategic interest, and in keeping with our future economic interests, to maintain real relations with Israel. Israel is an advanced country and we can benefit from it."

Al-Ghoban's remarks are not a lone voice in the wilderness. During the Ramadan Muslim holy month, Saudi television networks broadcast two series that portray Jews and Israelis in a positive light.

The Daily Brief

1. Chinese State Media Warn Country Will Interfere in U.S. Election - Free Beacon

China is threatening to meddle in the upcoming U.S. presidential election as retribution for a flurry of American lawsuits seeking to hold Beijing accountable for the spread of the coronavirus. The Communist Party "won't just strike back symbolically, but will impose countermeasures that will make them feel pain," according to the Global Times, an outlet controlled by the regime.

The threats come as outrage grows over China's handling of the coronavirus outbreak in the country and the subsequent global spread of the virus. China also is threatening to sanction several leading Republican senators, including Tom Cotton (Ark.) and Josh Hawley (Mo.), for their efforts to hold the country responsible.

"Republicans who have been groundlessly accusing China and inflaming the 'holding China accountable' political farce will face severe consequences, sources said, noting that the aftermath will also impact the upcoming November elections, while business and trade between Missouri and China will be further soured," the paper reported. (Read more)

- Lord we ask that You will guide our cyber security forces with wisdom and grant them knowledge as they work to protect our elections. We also pray that any pressure China brings to bear on our Congress members and businesses will fall to the ground and be ineffective.

- "Your wealth, your wares, your merchandise, Your sailors and your pilots, Your repairers of seams, your dealers in merchandise And all your men of war who are in you, With all your company that is in your midst, Will fall into the heart of the seas On the day of your overthrow." (Ezekiel 27:27)

2. Criminal hacker group claims to have Trump documents, asks for $42M in ransom - The Hill

A gang of cybercriminals claimed in a post to the dark web on Friday that it had obtained documents on President Trump, and is threatening to release them and other hacked documents unless it receives a $42 million ransom.

According to Variety, which has seen the dark web post, the criminal group hacked the major entertainment law firm Grubman Shire Meiselas & Sacks and obtained a trove of documents on Trump, Lady Gaga, Madonna, Nicki Minaj, Bruce Springsteen, Mary J. Blige, Ella Mai, Christina Aguilera and Mariah Carey.

The hackers are using ransomware attacks in which they lock up a network and demand payment to return access to systems and documents. "The next person we'll be publishing is Donald Trump. There's an election race going on, and we found a ton of dirty laundry," the group's post reportedly said, including a one-week deadline. "And to you voters, we can let you know that after such a publication, you certainly don't want to see him as president."

It's unclear what information, if any, the hackers may have on the president. The group reportedly gave no evidence to show that they have documents on Trump, though this week they did release documents related to Lady Gaga. (Read more)

- Lord, we pray that You will not allow lies to be published by hackers, and that they will receive no ransom or provision for their crimes. We pray that You will quickly find these people and bring them into account.

"And no creature is hidden from his sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give account." (Hebrews 4:13)

3. Trump Delivers Blow To China With Announcement That Taiwan Chip Maker Building $12 Billion U.S. Plant - Daily Wire

The Trump administration hit hard against the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) late this week with the announcement that a Taiwan chip manufacturer will be building a plant in the United States and that the move will severely restrict the company's ability to sell to China's Huawei.

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co Ltd (TSMC) announced that it will build a new factory in Arizona as part of a $12 billion deal with the U.S. that will "create over 1,600 high-tech professional jobs directly, and thousands of indirect jobs in the semiconductor ecosystem," the company said in a statement.

"TSMC welcomes continued strong partnership with the U.S. administration and the State of Arizona on this project," the company added. "The strong investment climate in the United States, and its talented workforce make this and future investments in the U.S. attractive to TSMC. U.S. adoption of forward-looking investment policies to enable a globally competitive environment for a leading edge semiconductor technology operation in the U.S. will be crucial to the success of this project." (Read more)

- Father, we praise You that Taiwan was granted this deal, and ask that You protect them and the United States from harm by China.

4. Scalise: House Proxy Voting Rules 'Unconstitutional,' They 'Will Be Challenged' - Breitbart

On Friday's broadcast of the Fox News Channel's "Hannity," House Minority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA) stated that the House of Representatives' new proxy voting rules are "unconstitutional," and that any significant pieces of legislation that are passed under the rules "will be challenged." He also criticized Democrats who voted for the rules by stating that they've surrendered their voting cards to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA).

Scalise said that Democrats who voted for the proxy voting measure "just voted to give [their] voting card in Congress to Nancy Pelosi. It's unconstitutional, first of all. Because a quorum under this - just - this resolution they just passed, 20 people on the floor, 20 Democrats can constitute a quorum of the House of Representatives, 435 people. That goes against Article I of the Constitution." (Read more)

- Lord, let Speaker Pelosi be reprimanded for this ridiculous action that removes the quorum required for voting. Let no action such as this be allowed, and may every plan against the constitution be destroyed.

"Why do we deal treacherously with one another by profaning the covenant of the fathers?" (Malachi 2:10b)

5. WH's Navarro: More Americans Will Die From Lockdown Than From COVID-19 - Newsmax

Peter Navarro, director of Office of Trade and Manufacturing Policy, on Sunday asserted more Americans will die because of "quarantine and lockdown" than from COVID-19. In an interview with NBC News' "Meet The Press," Navarro, who also serves as policy coordinator for the National Defense Production Act, blamed the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for dropping the ball in its initial testing effort.

"Early on in this crisis, the CDC which really had the most trusted brand around the world in this space, really let the country down with the testing," he charged. "Because not only did they keep the testing within the bureaucracy, they had a bad test. And that did set us back."

He said President Donald Trump rightly realized the risks and benefits of lockdown - and worried it would be worse than the coronavirus. "We know statistically based on our experience with the China trade shock in the 2000s that unemployment creates more suicides, depression and drug abuse," he said. (Read more)

- Father, we pray for the people who own businesses, that they would be restored, and that this situation would bring opportunity for Your Holy Spirit to touch the lives of all. Help us to repent, Lord.

- "Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord." (Acts 3:19)

6. Imperial College model Britain used to justify lockdown a 'buggy mess', 'total unreliable', experts claim - Fox News

The heralded model United Kingdom experts have largely used to guide their coronavirus policies is "totally unreliable," according to experts. The criticisms follow a series of policy turnabouts, including Prime Minister Boris Johnson's decision to extend the national lockdown. The United States also used the model, which predicted upwards of 2.2 million deaths in the US without proper action. The prediction helped influence theExperts have derided the coding from Professor Neil Ferguson, warning that it is a "buggy mess that looks more like a bowl of angel hair pasta than a finely tuned piece of programming."

"In our commercial reality, we would fire anyone for developing code like this and any business that relied on it to produce software for sale would likely go bust," David Richards, co-founder of British data technology company WANdisco, told the Daily Telegraph.

Ferguson, the virus modeler from Imperial College London and a scientific adviser to the government, warned on March 16 that 500,000 people could die from the pandemic without significant action. Prime Minister Boris Johnson responded by imposing a national lockdown, which has only been loosened within the last week. (Read more)

"For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind." (2 Timothy 1:7)

7. Trump Fires State Department Inspector General Steve Linick, Leftists Meltdown. There's More To The Story. - Daily Wire

President Donald Trump fired State Department inspector general Steve Linick on Friday night, causing a massive reaction from those on the political Left.

"Trump informed Congress of his intent to oust Linick, a Justice Department veteran appointed to the role in 2013 by then President Barack Obama, in a letter to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi," Politico reported. "The president said he 'no longer' had the 'fullest confidence' in Linick and promised to send the Senate a nominee 'who has my confidence and who meets the appropriate qualifications.'"

The move sparked outrage on Twitter by hardcore left-wing critics who suggested without evidence that this was somehow proof that the Trump administration was "about obstruction and the elevation of crime and corruption to the central role of government."

Linick attempted to play a role in the impeachment of President Donald Trump last year by approaching Congress with information that he appeared to think was relevant-it was not. Roll Call reported that lawmakers said that Linick delivered a dossier to them of unknown origins that was essentially filled with conspiracy theories. (Read more)

- Lord, the President is still the President, and has the right to fire whomever he chooses. Now that they'll start yet another investigation of his actions, we pray that the truth will be brought to light in a manner that fully destroys the narratives cooked up by the opposition.

"Indeed, none of those who wait for You will be ashamed; Those who deal treacherously without cause will be ashamed." (Psalm 25:3)

8. US immigration agency says it might not make payroll without congressional help - Fox News

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) is warning that it is being hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic and that it will soon exhaust its funding and might be unable to meet its payroll without significant help from Congress -- as the number of applications from immigrants dries up.

"Given the unprecedented nature of the global pandemic, there is no historical data that can be used to project the scope and duration of COVID-19's impact on USCIS' revenue," said the email to staff by Deputy Director for Policy Joseph Edlow, a copy of which was obtained by Fox News.

"USCIS will exhaust its funding this summer, and without congressional intervention, we risk not being able to make payroll and will have to take drastic actions to keep the agency afloat," he said.

USCIS offices closed in March as part of the effort to stop the spread of the coronavirus, suspending in-person services at field offices and asylum offices. President Trump has also placed significant restrictions on green cards for those already in the country -- which are usually handled by USCIS.(Read more)

9. Rep. Omar tweets life doesn't matter - WND

Freshman Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., has a long history of controversial statements. For example, she's claimed the government should take over all hospitals. And she's wanted GI Bill benefits to those who didn't serve. And then there's the evidence she married her brother and filed tax returns with one man while married to another. Now she's one-upped even herself. She wrote on Twitter: "No human life is worth more than corporate profits. Not now, not ever." - Rep. Ilhan Omar. (Read more)

- Lord, this woman's sin brings a foolish heart to her words and actions. We pray for her soul, and we ask that she be removed from Congress, and investigated for her crimes.

"A heart that devises wicked plans, Feet that run rapidly to evil." (Proverbs 6:18)

10. Food prices increasing - IFA

Prices Americans paid for eggs, meat, cereal and milk shot higher in April as people flocked to grocery stores to stock up on food amid government lockdowns designed to slow the spread of Covid-19. The Labor Department reported Tuesday that prices U.S. consumers paid for groceries jumped 2.6% in April, the largest one-month pop since February 1974. The spike in supermarket prices was broad-based and impacted items from broccoli and ham to oatmeal and tuna.

The price of the meats, poultry, fish, and eggs category rose 4.3%, fruits and vegetables climbed 1.5%, cereals and bakery products advanced 2.9%, and dairy goods gained 1.5%. The grocery numbers stand in stark contrast to the broader trend in U.S. prices, which fell 0.8% in April and clinched their largest one-month decline since 2008 as a swoon in oil and gasoline dragged the headline CPI number lower.

"Food price gains were robust as we know there are empty shelves out there," Peter Boockvar, chief investment officer at Bleakley Advisory Group, wrote in an email. "Demand we know in most areas of the economy has collapsed and prices are falling in response.". . . "In areas where demand has hung in, like 'food at home' we have inflation because the supply side has been damaged, whether directly via infected facilities or because of the higher costs of finding freight capacity," Boockvar added. (Read more)

- Lord, we pray for all Americans who are feeling the pinch of higher grocery prices. May You become their Provider, and may they reach out to You for help.

"Therefore do not be anxious, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all." (Matthew 6:31-32)

11. FBI Connects Pensacola Gunman to al-Qaida - Newsmax

FBI officials linked al-Qaida to a deadly shooting that took place at a U.S. military base in Pensacola, Florida, last year, The New York Times reports.

Two officials briefed on the investigation told the newspaper that the gunman, Second Lt. Mohammed Saeed Alshamrani, a Saudi Air Force cadet training with the American military, had connected with an al-Qaida operative who encouraged the attacks.

Federal agents discovered the connection after they were able to bypass security features on at least one of the gunman's iPhones without help from Apple, the officials told the Times.

Attorney General William Barr was expected to publicly discuss the discovery during an 11 a.m. news conference on Monday.

It isn't clear whether the al-Qaida operative instructed Alshamrani to carry out the December shooting, which killed three sailors and wounded eight people. Alshamrani died in a shootout with police during the incident. (Read more)

11. Breaking! Trump reveals he's taking hydroxychloroquine in effort to prevent coronavirus symptoms - Fox News

President Trump revealed to reporters on Monday he's taking the malaria drug hydroxychloroquine in an effort to prevent getting coronavirus, saying he's been taking a pill every day for about a week and a half. "I'm taking it - hydroxychloroquine," the president told reporters during a roundtable with restaurant leaders in the White House's State Dining Room. He added: "I think it's good. I've heard a lot of good stories. And, if it's not good, I'll tell you right, I'm not going to get hurt by it." The president added that he consulted with the White House physician before starting to take the drug. Dr. Sean Conley, the president's physician, announced in a statement Monday night, "After numerous discussions he and I had about regarding the evidence for and against the use of hydroxychloroquine, we concluded the potential benefit from treatment outweighed the relative risks." (Read more)

- Father, we pray supernatural protection over President Trump. We pray this medication does him good and no harm. Keep him healthy and whole, safe in Your dwelling place.

The unbalanced scales of justice

The blindfolded Lady Justice, the allegorical personification of the ethical ethos in the justice system, appears to have one eye uncovered and the other covered with scales when it comes to Attorney General William Barr's investigation of criminal activity of the Democratic Party's attempt to remove President Trump. The Mueller Investigation and declassification of the House Intelligence Committee testimonies indicate that the immediate past president, the Democratic National Committee, then-Vice President Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton, and a host of others falsified information for court warrants, spying, and using the deep state to remove Trump. But don't expect the top names to be prosecuted,

Barr says that these top officials are unlikely to face a criminal investigation because the criminal justice system should not be used as a political weapon. Barr said in a Monday news conference, "This is not good for our political life and it's not good for the criminal justice system. As long as I'm attorney general, the criminal justice system will not be used for partisan political ends. This is especially true for the upcoming elections in November." He said of the former president and Joe Biden, "Whatever their level of involvement based on the level of information I have today, I don't expect Mr. [US Attorney John] Durham's work will lead to a criminal investigation of either man. Our concern over potential criminality is focused on others."

If the former president, Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton and whoever was running the Democratic National Committee were guilty of such subversive activity, and we know from various testimonies of the players involved, that evidence points to them, they should be investigated just like any other American. Barr is correct that none of this is good for our political life and criminal justice system. Nevertheless, trying to overthrow a duly elected head of state by using all the powers of the government is a serious issue. The taxpayer money spent on investigations, spying, and hearings alone should be enough reason to press for criminal investigations. Is it right to allow laws to be broken with impunity because the lawbreakers hold high positions in politics and society?

While Barr's example of honor to the system is admirable, he also has a responsibility to see that justice is administered. Since late 2016, criminal elements in the US governmental system have schemed to rid the elected American president. The American people have been fed lies, their hard-earned tax dollars wasted, and a network of anti-American espionage has been exposed. Already, Democrats are signaling they will try again to impeach Trump. Is there no end? How much more political weaponization of investigative power can or should we endure? Mr. Barr, should put an end to this by letting the chips fall as they may. Proverbs 11;1 says, "Dishonest scales are an abomination to the LORD, But a just weight is His delight." There should be one law for all, and Lady Justice should have honest scales, not scales over one eye.

Recording of Last Night’s COVID-19 Call

Recording of Last Night's COVID-19 Call

Our Assignment: Building Living Stones not Dead Buildings!

Eric Teitelman was the guest speaker tonight. He brought out four major topics for our prayer targets:

1.We looked into the enemy's playbook. The spirit of fear is crippling the nation and the church.Fear brings control. Fear prevents people from making good and sound decisions. We prayed that the church would be set free from the spirit of fear:

"For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind." (2 Tim 1:7)

2. God is in control. He is sovereign. He has allowed the coronavirus situation to come upon the world. He has purpose in it. This is an opportunity to ask the question, "What are you doing LORD?" This is an opportunity for us to walk on the "narrow path", and share in the fellowship of Yeshua's suffering. (1 Peter 4:12-13)

3. Breaking off the spirit of SELF reliance and reliance on the systems of this world.

God is stripping away our self reliance. This is an opportunity to RELY on and TRUST in the God of Israel for all things. We repented for relying on our own arm of flesh and prayed that we would be stretched to TRUST Abba more and more!

4. The institution of the American church is being fundamentally changed. The God of Israel wants us to build LIVING STONES not DEAD buildings. Our holy assignment is not to build brick and mortar buildings but to disciple people, eternal jewels for the kingdom! See Revelation 18:17-19. Do we weep for the lost riches/wealth? Or do we weep for lost souls?

> > > If you had to miss this session, we encourage you to go to this recording and listen in on Eric's teaching. He will also be back next Monday with more for us to ponder.

Prayers During Ramadan

Day 26 - May 19, 2020

Laylat al-Qadr (Night of Power)

It was nearly 1,400 years ago that a young Arab man, disillusioned with the injustice of society and the ever-present idolatry around him, decided he needed to get away. He would make a practice of meditating in a cave in the hills near his hometown of Mecca (in modern-day Saudi Arabia).

He was Muhammad, and on one particular night he had an encounter he didn't expect. Later, Muhammad recalled how an angel appeared to him, giving him the first of the revelations that would eventually come to be known as the Quran.

Laylat al-Qadr, also known as the "Night of Power", is the commemoration of this night. It's a time so special and sacred to Muslims around the world that they will take on great tasks, such as praying throughout the night, reading the entire Quran or even living in the mosque for days at a time.

Muslims believe that worship on Laylat al-Qadr is more valuable than a thousand months of regular worship, and also that God decrees one's destiny for the coming year during this time.

On a night when hearts and minds are focused on pleasing God, we can gather around the throne of grace and ask the Lord to make Jesus known to them.

IDEAS FOR PRAYER

1. MUSLIMS ARE SEEKING God for revelation on this night. Pray that Jesus will reveal Himself in supernatural ways.

2. PRAY THAT Christians in Muslim communities will boldly share the good news of salvation at this time when their friends are more mindful of their sin and shortcomings.

3. PRAY FOR Muslims who are shifting in their faith, trying to decide what they believe and who they should follow, that the Way, the Truth and the Life will be clear to them. (John 14:6)

Please note: Believers will also be in prayer all night tonight, for the salvation of the people of Islam. You can learn more about this opportunity, including the timing and the zoom access to this call,

A Classic Hymn

Classic Hymns

WHAT A FRIEND WE HAVE IN JESUS

"Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends." (John 15:13)

Lyrics

What a friend we have in Jesus,
All our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry
Everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit,
O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer.

Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged;
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful
Who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness;
Take it to the Lord in prayer.

Are we weak and heavy laden,
Cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge,
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Do your friends despise, forsake you?
Take it to the Lord in prayer!
In His arms He'll take and shield you;
You will find a solace there.

Blessèd Savior, Thou hast promised
Thou wilt all our burdens bear
May we ever, Lord, be bringing
All to Thee in earnest prayer.
Soon in glory bright unclouded
There will be no need for prayer
Rapture, praise and endless worship
Will be our sweet portion there.

Signs and Wonders

SOMETHING TO SEE AT SUNSET

Mercury is rising. This week, the innermost planet will jump out of the glare of the sun and become visible in the western sky at sunset. Helio de Carvalho Vital photographed it on May 17th from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

"These photos show Mercury returning to evening twilight," says Vital. "The elusive planet was only 3.9° above the horizon and 14.8° from the sun."

The view will improve each night this week as Mercury climbs higher in the sky. Mark these dates on your calendar: May 21st and May 22nd. On those nights Mercury and Venus will be in conjunction, about 1 degree apart. That's a little less than the width of a fingertip held at arm's length.

About Capitol Hill Prayer Partners

Our Mission Statement

Capitol Hill Prayer Partners (CHPP) is a ministry which is positioned on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., helping members of the Body of Christ to "pray for those in authority over us" in our federal government. Our primary purpose is to offer intercession on site for the members of Congress and their staffs each day that the Senate and the House of Representatives are in session; and our chief prayer focus is that "God's will be done in earth, as it is in heaven." [Matthew 6:10].

Because Jesus Christ has shed His blood for all, we, too, pray for ALL, in a nonpartisan manner. Also, because the scriptures indicate that "the effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" (James 4:17), we are confident that fervent prayer, offered in the halls of the highest chambers of government in our land, can avail much for America. Capitol Hill Prayer Partners welcomes those who feel called to join us, engaging in this strategic work of intercession for our nation: "For there is no power but of God; the powers that be are ordained of God." [Romans 13:1]

Reading the Bible Together

WELCOME TO OUR BIBLE READATHON!

"For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD as the waters cover the sea." (Habakkuk 2:14)

> > > Reading the Word of God over our nation, six nights per week!! ALL NIGHT LONG!

We are now reading the Word of God every night (except on Sunday mornings) from midnight to 6:00 a.m. EDT. We are reading through the whole Word, from Genesis to Revelation, and beginning again in Genesis when finished. [As of this writing, over the past three years, we have now "read through" the entire Word of God sixty-five times, nonstop. Hallelujah!]

Our numbers of readers continues to grow over time. All are welcome to join, as we use "the weapons of OUR warfare" to confront our enemy and BRING HIM DOWN through the LOVE of our Messiah and, by faith, setting captives free!

Our conference number is: 712-432-0075. The access code is: 206425#.

Please call at any time from midnight to 6:00 a.m. EST!
EVERYONE IS WELCOME TO JOIN OUR "WARFARE IN THE NIGHT", USING THE WEAPON OF HIS WARFARE - THE WORD OF GOD!

"For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart." (Hebrews 4:12)

> > > A footnote: 2020 has been declared "the Year of the Bible."

Hallelujah!!

Please join us as, together, we "soak the very atmosphere of our nation" in the WORD OF GOD!

In closing, let us decree together that . . .

"Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path." (Psalm 119:105)

AMEN!!

Reminder!

Our conference number is: 712-432-0075.
The access code is: 206425#.

And . . . once again . . . welcome!
