"Praying for All in Authority"
Monday, July 20, 2020
Thus says the Lord, "Let not a wise man boast of his wisdom, and let not the mighty man boast of his might, let not a rich man boast of his riches; but let him who boasts boast of this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the Lord who exercises lovingkindness, justice and righteousness on earth; for I delight in these things," declares the Lord. 1 . In Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, thousands rail against Netanyahu, COVID-19 policies - Times of Israel
Thousands of people took part Saturday evening in concurrent anti-government protests in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, with the former focusing on the government's economic policies amid the resurgent coronavirus pandemic, and the latter calling on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to resign over his corruption trial.
In both cities, protests began in areas designated by police but later spilled over into the streets, with demonstrators marching through the cities and sometimes clashing with cops. Fifteen protesters were arrested in Jerusalem, and 13 in Tel Aviv.
In the capital, thousands protested near the prime minister's official residence. Large crowds of those who had gathered then marched though a series of roadblocks meant to contain them and blocked roads as they paraded for hours through the streets around the area, largely peacefully, waving anti-Netanyahu banners to the beats of drums and loud vuvuzelas.
Little to no social distancing was being observed between participants, though most were wearing masks. The crowds comprised a large majority of young people - from late teens through 20s and 30s.
2. Tensions roil Netanyahu government as corona crisis deepens - World Israel News
Israel's newly appointed corona czar will have his work cut out for him. The Israeli government is not only facing criticism from without but also from within. One of the disagreements, in fact, is who the corona czar will be.
Early reports Sunday pointed to Prof. Gabi Barbash, former deputy director of the Sheba Medical Center at Tel Hashomer Hospital. He has been a regular face on television explaining the ins and outs of Covid-19 to the public.
Later in the day it emerged that there were disagreements about appointing Barbash. While Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was for it, Health Minister Yuli Edelstein and former Mossad Head Danny Yatom are opposed. They say there are better candidates.
The argument over the corona czar is one of several ripples disturbing the smooth sailing of the unity government in its efforts to curb the pandemic as infections continue to rise. There were 1,414 new cases Saturday and a total of 27,729 active cases overall.
3. Senior Likud officials planning rebellion against Netanyahu - Israel National News
Current and former senior Likud officials, some of whom are current Knesset members, are currently coming together in an effort to bring about the replacement of the party's chairman, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Arutz Sheva has learned.
According to those senior officials, Prime Minister Netanyahu has abandoned the goals of the party and the right-wing agenda, in favor of dealing with his personal affairs, and therefore it is necessary to bring the Likud back to its true path.
The officials mention that despite the green light he received from the US administration, Netanyahu chose not to apply sovereignty in Judea and Samaria, and in addition did not act to change the face of the justice system and did not do the necessary things to create change in the media.
"Netanyahu presented himself as a right-winger and a right-wing leader, but in fact acted to promote left-wing policy," they added.
Members of the emerging group claim that if Netanyahu remains at the helm of the Likud, the party is likely to disintegrate. Therefore, they are addressing two possibilities: ousting Netanyahu or establishing a right-wing movement that will take the Likud's place and adopt its original platform, if Netanyahu does not resign and his ouster does not succeed.
4. srael braces for imminent ICC decision on war crimes investigations - Israel Hayom
Israeli diplomats and legal experts on Thursday were bracing for the International Criminal Court at The Hague to make its final decision on whether or not to investigate the Jewish state on charges of war crimes. Officials expect the ICC to announce its decision over the next 24 hours.
Officials in Israel believe the panel of judges will accept the position of chief ICC prosecutor, Fatou Bensouda, whereby the court has the authority to investigate Israelis and indict them. This, despite the fact that Israel, and the United States, incidentally, are not signatories to the Rome Statute, the treaty upon which the International Criminal Court is predicated, and has openly declared its view that the ICC is not within its jurisdiction to investigate the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Israel additionally claims that the ICC only has jurisdiction over petitions submitted by sovereign states, but that the Palestinian Authority is not a state.
In their decision, the ICC judges are also expected to take into account requests from numerous Western countries and jurists that have called on the ICC not to interfere in a political conflict.
With that, the assumption in Israel is that the ICC will accept Bensouda's position and authorize investigations, in which case the court will pursue two types of charges: against Israeli soldiers and officers for alleged war crimes in Gaza and Judea and Samaria; and against allegedly illegal construction in Judea and Samaria and Jerusalem.
5. Report: Iran has already decided to strike back against Israel - Israel Hayom
The Iranian regime has made the decision to respond militarily to what it believes is a series of Israeli and American attacks on its soil, Kuwaiti newspaper Al Rai reported on Thursday.
"Tehran's decision to retaliate to the Israeli and American attacks has already been made and will be implemented at the right time and place," sources in Lebanon told Al Rai, which traditionally propagates anti-Zionist and anti-Israel views.
The report also said that Iran and its regional allies were planning for the possibility of an "all-out war."
The statements, which haven't been corroborated elsewhere, come amid a series of mysterious explosions and fires at sensitive sites across Iran, including a power station, port, petrochemical factory, a "cutting factory," and military sites such as the uranium enrichment facility at Natanz and the ballistic missile base at Parchin, located south of the capital Tehran.
6. Netanyahu's graft trial resumes amid Israeli virus anger - AP
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's corruption trial will resume in earnest in January, with thrice-weekly evidentiary hearings set to begin then, a Jerusalem court decided Sunday.
It was not immediately clear if Netanyahu would be required to be present at each hearing, although some Israeli media reported he would. Regardless, the grueling judicial schedule will keep Netanyahu's legal woes firmly in the national consciousness and conversation - and continue to raise questions over whether he can keep serving while simultaneously standing trial.
The court's decision came after the trial's second hearing, a procedural deliberation that set the pace for the remainder of the proceedings.

RED ALERT!
1. Workers demanding union rights plan to walk off the job in nationwide Strike for Black Lives - CNN Business
New York (CNN Business) A coalition of Black advocacy groups and labor activists are organizing a nationwide strike to pressure corporations, such as McDonald's, Amazon, Uber and Lyft, to raise wages and allow their workers to form unions. Thousands of workers are expected to walk off the job in more than 25 cities on July 20 in a mass demonstration called the Strike for Black Lives, organizers say. The strike takes aim at various industries in which Black workers are disproportionately represented, including fast food, airports, gig workers, nursing and home health aides. The protest is being organized by the Movement for Black Lives - a coalition of black advocacy groups - and several labor rights organizations, including the Service Employee International Union and the fast-food industry labor advocacy group known as Fight for $15 and a Union. The American Federation of Teachers, the International Brotherhood of Teamsters and United Farm Workers are also involved in the effort. (Read more)
- Father God, we ask that these demonstrations be only peaceful. We break the ties to the Marxists that are working to foment this unrest across our land, and we ask for Your mercy upon us. In Your Name, amen.
- "The LORD is righteous; He has cut in pieces the cords of the wicked." (Psalm 129:4)
2. Trump Task Force to Dismantle MS-13 Takes Down Gang's Key Leaders - Judicial Watch
. . . In August 2019 Attorney General William Barr launched an initiative known as Joint Task Force Vulcan (JTFV) to address MS-13 with a coordinated force of federal law enforcement agencies and the Department of Justice (DOJ). JTFV has increased collaboration with foreign law enforcement partners, including in El Salvador, Mexico, Honduras, and Guatemala; designated priority MS-13 programs, cliques and leaders, who have the most impact on the U.S., for targeted prosecutions, and; coordinated significant MS-13 indictments in U.S. Attorney's Offices across the country, such as New York, Virginia and Nevada. Less than a year after its formation, the task force has recorded big successes.
This week the DOJ announced a number of significant JTFV cases, including for the first time an MS-13 member being charged with terrorism-related offenses, the take down of the MS-13 Hollywood leadership and the Attorney General's decision to seek the death penalty against an MS-13 operative. JTFV Director John Durham calls it the result of tremendous teamwork between prosecutors and law enforcement officers across the United States and Central America.
The cases announced this week include an indictment against a high-ranking MS-13 operative, Melgar Diaz, in Virginia. Diaz is charged with conspiring to provide material support to terrorists, conspiring to kill or maim persons overseas, conspiring to commit acts of terrorism transcending national boundaries, conspiring to finance terrorism, and; conspiring to engage in narco-terrorism, in addition to racketeering conspiracy and drug trafficking. In another case eight MS-13 members were indicted in New York for committing six murders, two attempted murders, kidnapping, narcotics felonies and related firearms offenses.
In Nevada 13 MS-13 gang bangers, including leaders of the "Hollywood Locos" clique and "Los Angeles Program" were charged with multiple counts of narcotics distribution and weapons crimes. The task force is also responsible for the indictment in New York of Alexi Saenz, an MS-13 leader accused of committing seven murders, including two high school students with a machete and baseball bat.
"MS-13 is a violent transnational criminal organization, whose criminal activities respect no boundaries," said John Durham, the JTFV director. "The only way to defeat MS-13 is by targeting the organization as a whole, focusing on the leadership structure, and deploying a whole-of-government approach against a common enemy." (Read more)
- Almighty God, how thankful we are for launching Joint Task Force Vulcan to bring down several gang key leaders. We pray You will give strength to the JTFV every day to take down all the key gang leaders here in America, which will save so many lives. We pray in the Name of Jesus.
- "Righteous are You, Oh Lord, when I plead with You: yet let me talk with you of your judgments: wherefore does the way of the wicked prosper? wherefore are all they happy that deal very treacherously?" (Jeremiah 12:1)
3. Radical Islamic influence at all levels of politics: Middle East expert - One News Now
Muslim legal advocacy and support groups lobbying Congress are having an impact on political candidacy and decision-making - in a way that's affecting national security. Benjamin Baird is deputy director of the Middle East Forum's (MEF) Islamist Watch project. He tells OneNewsNow two different types of platforms typically are involved - and they are definitely influencing American elections and more.
"On the one hand," Baird says, "there are Muslim American organizations that are Islamist, and have ties in most cases to the Muslim Brotherhood or South Asian Islamist movements." Some of these groups, he explains, are financing elections and "get out the vote" drives - and in addition are providing questionnaires to current lawmakers as well as potential candidates. "They ask them questions that coincide with their agenda," Baird observes, explaining that questions like "How do you feel about immigration?" and "How do you feel about counterterrorism?" are common. Responses are then published - and if the answers fit the narrative, certain candidates are endorsed, he adds. "In the past few years, these Muslim American groups have given huge sums of money to elections - not just federal elections, but also local and state," Baird points out. He considers some of them to be incredibly involved at the local level.
On the other hand, Baird says the second type of platform can be named "civil society organizations." For example, he considers the National Iranian American Council and Turkish Heritage Organization to be civil society organizations. "They represent foreign regimes and attempt to influence American politics to the benefit of their regimes," the project coordinator explains - and in the process cause "a lot of concern with national security, as these regimes are so often friendly with jihadist organizations." (Read more)
- Almighty God, we pray the power of the Blood of Jesus will be upon America and all believers to deliver us from the wickedness of anti-American organizations. Father, send myriads of angels to war against the evil radical Muslim activists. Weaken them, defeat their influence over American elections. We pray in the Name of Jesus.
- "He who smote the people in wrath with a continual stroke, he that ruled the nations in anger, is persecuted, and none hinders." (Isaiah 14:6)
4. Trump expected to exclude undocumented migrants from U.S. census - Reuters
President Donald Trump is expected to soon issue an executive order that would ban undocumented immigrants from being included in the 2020 census count of every person living in the United States, a source familiar with the matter said on Friday. The government's census count helps in determining where taxpayer money is spent for building public facilities like schools, hospitals and fire departments, as well as calculating states' apportionment in the U.S. House of Representatives.
The Trump administration has long sought to use the census as a vehicle to identify, and possibly limit the political power of, undocumented immigrants. In 2018, the administration said it would ask respondents to the 2020 census whether they were citizens, a move ultimately nixed by the U.S. Supreme Court. At the time, immigration advocates argued the question would frighten Hispanics and immigrants into abstaining from the census, potentially costing their communities political representation and federal aid dollars that are doled out based on population.
Republicans close to Trump also wanted citizenship data so that conservative U.S. states could more easily exclude non-citizens when they redraw voting maps in the next round of redistricting, according to documents uncovered here during litigation on the citizenship question.
Trump's power to limit the counting of immigrants is questionable. Longstanding Supreme Court precedent has interpreted the U.S. Constitution as requiring that U.S. House districts be based on total population. State-level legislative districts don't necessarily have to include non-citizens, but they are drawn by states, not the federal government. (Read more)
See also: Republicans want census data on citizenship for redistricting - Reuters (April 9, 2019) NEW YORK (Reuters) - John Murante, a conservative Nebraska senator, last year introduced a bill to prevent non-citizens from being counted when the state redraws its voting maps. (Go here)
- Almighty God, we trust You to enforce this executive order and that all our citizens will honor it. Bring order to the laws of our country. We pray in the Name of Jesus.
- "Oh the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments, and His ways past finding out." (Romans 11:33)
5. Analyst: Lawlessness turning off most voters . . . advantage: Trump - One News Now
A conservative political analyst is confident Americans won't support a presidential candidate who doesn't "vigorously" oppose the mob actions the public sees taking place in several major cities across the country.
. . . Dr. Charles Dunn, professor emeritus of government at Clemson University, contends that most Americans don't approve of what's happening in the cities. "Donald Trump has been the principle leader against that," he contends. "The American people will not buy in to supporting a candidate for president who has not taken a vigorous lead in opposing the destruction of America's history and culture."
And Dunn says voters are going to be turned off by Biden's acceptance of Bernie Sanders' agenda in the Democrat Party platform. "If [Biden] could, he would still like to be presenting himself as a classic moderate of the Democratic Party, but he's already pegged himself out on the far-left," the political analyst suggests. "That's the perception - and perception in politics is everything. The Sanders people are not going to let him forget who put him where he is."
Tea party activist Tom Zawistowski, who is executive director of the We the People Convention, argues that despite what the BLM and Antifa mobs are doing in some of America's cities, "it really could be our finest hour." He says that's because the rioters, looters, and monument-topplers have been exposed for what they really are. "Our problem in American isn't racism, it's communism - and that's who's infiltrated us," he tells OneNewsNow.
"But now for the first time, they are exposed because Donald Trump has gone after China has fought them and fought the deep state - and now they're on the ropes," Zawistowski continues. "They know that if Donald Trump gets elected for another term that they're going to be done. This is now our chance to crush them. We're not intimidated by a bunch of white, indoctrinated college kids who are trying to tell us that we're evil when we know for a fact that we are not." (Read more)
- Almighty God, we pray for America, and Americans to stand for God and country and resist Communists who have infiltrated our country to take over. God, dispatch myriads of mighty warring angels from heaven to fight against this despicable demonic hatred and lawlessness. We pray in the Name of Jesus.
- "But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raises the dead; who delivered us from so great a death, and does deliver: in whom we rust that God will yet deliver us." (2 Corinthians 1:9-10)
6. White House blocks CDC director from testifying before House panel on reopening schools - The Hill
The Trump administration is rebuffing House Democrats' effort to hear testimony from Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Director Robert Redfield on safely reopening schools during the coronavirus pandemic. House Education and Labor Committee Chairman Bobby Scott sent Redfield a letter last week asking him or a CDC designee to testify at a hearing on how K-12 public schools can reopen for in-person classroom instruction this fall. But on Friday, Scott said his panel had been informed that the Trump administration would not allow CDC testimony at the hearing planned for next week.
"It is alarming that the Trump administration is preventing the CDC from appearing before the committee at a time when its expertise and guidance is so critical to the health and safety of students, parents, and educators. This lack of transparency does a great disservice to the many communities across the country facing difficult decisions about reopening schools this fall," Scott said in a statement.
A senior administration official said that Redfield has already testified before Congress at least four times in the last few months. The White House has been limiting congressional testimony from top officials leading the nation's response to the coronavirus pandemic, maintaining that they should be focused as much as possible on planning and implementing the federal government's actions to contain the virus. (Read more)
- Father God, we pray for President Trump, entrusting him into Your care. Thank You for leading and guiding him as he makes decisions that are the best possible for our nation. Amen.
- "Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence." (I Timothy 2:1,2)
7. 3 churches sue Calif. over singing ban, say it violates 1st and 14th Amendments - Christian Post
Three California churches have filed a lawsuit against Gov. Gavin Newsom and several state health officials for a ban on singing during church services, arguing that it violates the First and 14th Amendments of the U.S. Constitution. "Let me be clear, the State does not have the jurisdiction to ban houses of worship from singing praises to God," Robert Tyler, partner at Tyler & Bursch, LLP, said in an ACLJ release. Plaintiffs in the lawsuit were listed as Calvary Chapel in Ukiah, Calvary Chapel Fort Bragg and the River of Life Church in Oroville.
"Singing in church is a biblical mandate," Kevin Green, pastor of Calvary Chapel in Fort Bragg, told the Los Angeles Times.
In new guidelines issued on July 1, in the face of rising COVID-19 cases, public health officials in California said singing and chanting in houses of worship must not happen because the activity posed a threat to public health.
"Even with adherence to physical distancing, convening in a congregational setting of multiple different households to practice a personal faith carries a relatively higher risk for widespread transmission of the COVID-19 virus, and may result in increased rates of infection, hospitalization, and death, especially among more vulnerable populations," health officials said in the new guidelines document.
"In particular, activities such as singing and chanting negate the risk reduction achieved through six feet of physical distancing. *Places of worship must therefore discontinue singing and chanting activities and limit indoor attendance to 25% of building capacity or a maximum of 100 attendees, whichever is lower," they advised. (Read more)
- Almighty God, we ask You to fight this battle for these three churches as they stand on Christian principles in worshiping You. We pray they win this lawsuit and that the State of California will be witness to Your all-sufficient power. In the Name of Jesus we pray, amen.
- "And David spoke to the chief of the Levites to appoint their brethren to be the singers with instruments of music, psalteries and harps and cymbals, sounding, by lifting up the voice with joy." (1 Chronicles 15:16)
8. COVID numbers . . . who can you trust? - One News Now
The leader of a health freedom organization makes the case that some of the numbers being reported about COVID cases in the U.S. are misleading if not totally fabricated.
When it comes to numbers involving COVID-19, some of that information may involve people who have tested positive for the coronavirus, as well whose who are considered "probable cases." In other words, people are claiming symptoms that health officials believe indicate COVID-19.
Twila Brase, a registered nurse and president of Citizens' Council for Health Freedom, acknowledges that while some people might find it "very scary" when the case numbers suddenly shoot up, in fact the majority of those are probable cases which have never been confirmed to be COVID. "The definition of 'probable cases' is so loose that somebody simply has to live in an area that has a lot of COVID-19, plus they have a headache and they have a fever - or at least they think they have a fever, they don't even have to measure it," she explains. "And by that, they become a probable case and can be reported as a case of COVID-19, which of course they are not."
Meanwhile, Brase says she'd like to see more news reports about people recovering from COVID-19, as opposed to just the numbers of cases and fatalities. She points out that the state of Illinois began reporting that weeks ago. "People asked them for it, and so they say that 92% of those who tested positive have recovered [and] those are only those who tested positive," she tells OneNewsNow.
"There are all sorts of other people who have never been tested who had COVID-19 and who recovered from it because it was either mild symptoms or it was asymptomatic. So, even more people have recovered than that number can speak to." (Read more)
- Almighty God, we pray for the entire world, that now seems to be in the grip of fear due to this pandemic. We call forth a move of Your Spirit that will sweep the nations, and deliver us from this evil and from fear. Draw people's hearts to call upon You, O Lord, for help and salvation. We ask in the Name of Jesus, amen.
- "Now our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and God, even our Father, which has loved us, and has given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace." (2 Thessalonians 2:16)
9. What law? Abortion group helps minors skirt new law- One News Now
Abortion supporters in Florida are attacking a new pro-life law by helping minors obtain abortions. The new law requires that a minor seeking an abortion obtain the consent of at least one parent although under certain circumstances they can obtain a judicial bypass permitting the abortion. Floridians for Reproductive Freedom has set up a new website to help minors obtain the judicial bypass.
Lynda Bell of Florida Right to Life says the effort to bypass the law, and to help girls obtain a life-changing abortion, proves a point. "They call themselves pro-choice. We all know better," she says. "They're pro-abortion because it's always about abortion and they fight at every turn."
One would think, she adds, even pro-abortion activists would support parental consent for such a decision if they cared about families and the girls themselves. "What if that child is being trafficked? What if that child is being abused by a much older boyfriend?" she asks. "What if that child has a very serious medical anomaly that nobody knows about but the parents?" (Read more)
- Father God, we pray there will be strong education and counseling regarding "sex after marriage" beliefs. Protect every girl from becoming a victim of sexual encounters before marriage. Save their souls by believing in Jesus' love and protection. Miraculously deliver them from abuse. We pray in Jesus' Name.
- "Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort." (2 Corinthians 1:3)
10. US Supreme Court Justice Ginsburg says cancer has returned, but won't retire - Times of Israel
Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg said Friday she is receiving chemotherapy for a recurrence of cancer, but has no plans to retire from the Supreme Court.
The 87-year-old Ginsburg, who has had four earlier bouts with cancer including pancreatic cancer last year, said her treatment so far has succeeded in reducing lesions on her liver and she will continue chemotherapy sessions every two weeks "to keep my cancer at bay."
"I have often said I would remain a member of the Court as long as I can do the job full steam. I remain fully able to do that," Ginsburg said in a statement issued by the court. (Read more)
- Father God, we pray You will send someone across Ms. Ginsburg's path who will show who Jesus, the Messiah, is to her. This decision is the most important one she will ever make. Show her the way, Father God. In the Name of Jesus we pray.
- "That if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved." (Romans 10:9)
11. 'Win each day': New Trump campaign manager Bill Stepien lays out strategy - Washington Examiner
President Trump's new campaign manager laid out his strategy on Thursday, saying the aim was to contrast Joe Biden's record with that of Trump's and to win "each day" from now until the election. Trump replaced Brad Parscale with Bill Stepien on Wednesday night after weeks of poor polls and a campaign that has struggled to adapt to life under COVID-19.
"With 109 days left, our goal is clear - to win each day we have left until election day. If we win more days than Joe Biden wins, President Trump will be re-elected," he said in his first public statement after taking up the role. "We will expose Joe Biden as a hapless tool of the extreme left and contrast his failures with the undeniable successes of President Trump."
The campaign has struggled to define Biden in the minds of voters - often a crucial element of an incumbent's reelection strategy. Stepien said . . . opinion polls were failing to reflect Trump's support.
"The same media polls that had the world convinced that Hillary Clinton would be elected in 2016 are trying the same trick again in 2020. It won't work." (Read more)
- Father God, we pray You will strip all the evil actions of the Democrats from having an ounce of influence over the November election. Defeat them from heaven. In the Name of Jesus.

Secretary Pompeo Speaks at Constitution Hall
Secretary Pompeo Speaks at Constitution Hall
Defends our Founding Values and Exposes the 1619 Project for its Communist Agenda
Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, in a Thursday speech about U.S. human rights advocacy abroad, called for a return to country's "founding principles" while attacking The New York Times and criticizing recent racial justice demonstrations that saw monuments to Confederate generals and George Washington vandalized or removed.
"Today, the very core of what it means to be an American, indeed the American way of life itself, is under attack. Instead of seeking to improve America, leading voices promulgate hatred of our founding principles," Pompeo said in an address at National Constitution Center in Philadelphia, where he was unveiling the findings of a study by a group he'd assembled, the Commission on Unalienable Human Rights.
He said the "foremost" concerns for the U.S. abroad should be religious freedom and property rights.
In his speech, Pompeo also said that "the evil institution of slavery was our nation's gravest departure from our founding principles" - slavery existed in America at the time of the country's founding, many of the Founding Fathers owned slaves and the Constitution contains clauses meant to appease slaveowners - before blasting The New York Times for its "1619 Project," which examined slavery's role in the founding of the country and its lasting impact.
"The New York Times's 1619 Project - so named for the year the first slaves were transported to America - wants you to believe our country was founded for human bondage. They want you to believe America's institutions continue to reflect the country's acceptance of slavery at our founding," Pompeo said. "They want you to believe Marxist ideology that America is only the oppressors and the oppressed. The Chinese Communist Party must be gleeful when they see the New York Times spout their ideology."
He added that "some people have taken these false doctrines to heart," and referenced the widespread tearing down of statues that President Donald Trump has railed against. Some of the targets have been Confederate generals and leaders, while some others have targeted tributes to the Founding Fathers and other historical figures because of their slave-owning histories or racist legacies.
"The rioters pulling down statues thus see nothing wrong with desecrating monuments to those who fought for unalienable rights - from our founding to the present day. This is a dark vision of America's birth, I reject it," Pompeo said, before pointing to a quote from one of the country's best known abolitionists.
In his address, Pompeo said that "the nation's founding principles gave us a standard by which we could see the gravity of our early failings. Our political framework gave us the tools to ultimately abolish slavery and enshrine in law equality without regard to race."
Pompeo said he felt compelled to address the "societal upheavals that are currently roiling our nation." He acknowledged the U.S. has fallen short of securing rights for all, but said, "America is fundamentally good." (NBC News) Read more here.
- Father God, we are SO GLAD that Mike Pompeo is now serving our nation as its Secretary of State. This man of God has clearly articulated our founding principles in this speech, and has brought us home to the vision and the destiny of the United States of America. We ask that this speech NOT be hidden in the "dustbin of history," but that the media would cover this address with the honor it deserves. GOD BLESS MIKE POMPEO! GOD BLESS AMERICA!

Key Statement by Trump Chief-of-Staff
Meadows signals imminent indictments in Durham probe: 'It's time for people to go to jail'
White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows said Sunday that it's "time for people to go to jail" as part of U.S. Attorney John Durham's probe into FBI misconduct -- prompting ex-Trump aide George Papadopoulos to sound a celebratory note on Twitter. The comments came as Fox News learned this weekend that Jennifer Boone, a senior FBI official who oversaw the flawed probe into former Trump adviser Carter Page, has received a major promotion to lead a field office -- and the bureau won't say why. Meadows, during his Sunday interview with Fox News' "Sunday Morning Futures," also previewed the Trump administration's soon-to-be-released plans for reopening schools and implementing new economic stimulus measures. More details, Meadows said, would be coming this week.
However, Meadows' comments on the Durham probe were among his most suggestive yet. They followed Attorney General Bill Barr's comments to Fox News earlier this year that Durham's findings have been "very troubling" and that familiar names are currently being probed. "I think the American people are expecting indictments," Meadows told anchor Maria Bartiromo. "I expect indictments based on the evidence I've seen. Lindsey Graham did a good job in getting that out. We know that they not only knew that there wasn't a case, but they continued to investigate and spy."
Internal FBI documents that emerged in April showed that Peter Strzok -- the now-disgraced anti-Trump former head of FBI counterintelligence -- ordered the investigation of former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn to remain open even after it was slated to be closed due to a lack of so-called "derogatory" information. Strzok pursued an investigation based on the Logan Act, a law never used in a successful prosecution and that was intended to prevent individuals from falsely representing the U.S. government abroad in a pre-telephone era.
"And yes, I use the word spy on Trump campaign officials and actually even doing things when this president was sworn in," Meadows continued. "And after that and doing in an inappropriate manner, you're going to see a couple of other documents come out in the coming days that will suggest that not only was the campaign spied on, but the FBI did not act appropriately as they were investigating. It's all starting to come unraveled. And I tell you, it's time that people go to jail and people are indicted."
The Justice Department's (DOJ's) watchdog has identified critical errors in every FBI wiretap application that it audited as part of the fallout from the bureau's heavily flawed investigation into former Trump adviser Carter Page, who was surveilled during the campaign in part because of a largely discredited dossier funded by the Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee (DNC).
. . . On Friday, Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee released newly declassified documents that they say "significantly undercut" the "reliability" of the infamous Steele dossier from the Russia probe, as well as the accuracy and reliability of the factual assertions in the FISA warrants against Page. Look to Israel!
Shalom Praying Friends,
Every prayer letter I write to you ends with praying for the Peace of Jerusalem. When I read Psalm 122, I only see a clear instruction that isn't really negotiable. God is always aware and focused on Israel. In fact in Psalm 121, He says He will never slumber or sleep and is always ready to save Israel from the plans of the enemy. He wants us to pray and to remember. And when we pray for the Peace of Jerusalem, we are praying for Messiah's final return to the city He loves, the New Jerusalem.
We have been so focused on events here in America that it may have been easy to forget our call to the Middle East and Israel. But the enemy never sleeps as well and, without fail, continues to attempt to bait and destroy YHWH's plans for Israel's redemption. The key word here is "attempt." We know YHWH wins in the end. But until then there's a never ending struggle.
Whether it's boycotting Israel's commerce or planning international condemnation for claiming what YHWH gave to Israel (The Land) without equivocation, the enemy roars about biting and chewing in every arena. The Word of God has said that Israel would be a worrisome stone in all the earth. And always someone comes along who thinks they are going to succeed where no one else has to make peace between Israel and its enemies. It will never happen. Especially if land is given away.
Currently Israel is in a time of Tisha B' Av (July 9-30). The "Three Weeks" between the 17th of Tammuz and the Tisha B'Av have historically been days of misfortune and calamity for the Jewish people. During this time, both the First and Second Temples were destroyed, amongst other tragedies. These days are referred to as the period "within the straits" (bein hametzarim), in accordance with the verse: "All her oppressors have overtaken her within the straits" (Lamentations 1:3).

PASS ME NOT, O GENTLE SAVIOR"
Do not pass by Your servant." (Genesis 18:3)
Lyrics
Pass me not, O gentle Savior,
Hear my humble cry;
While on others Thou art calling,
Do not pass me by.
Refrain
Savior, Savior,
Hear my humble cry;
While on others Thou art calling,
Do not pass me by.
Let me at Thy throne of mercy
Find a sweet relief,
Kneeling there in deep contrition;
Help my unbelief.
Refrain
Trusting only in Thy merit,
Would I seek Thy face;
Heal my wounded, broken spirit,
Save me by Thy grace.
Refrain
Thou the Spring of all my comfort,
More than life to me,
Whom have I on earth beside Thee?
Whom in Heav'n but Thee?

Heat wave to roast Northeast as temps forecast to approach 100 F
The hottest weather of the summer is poised to swelter many areas of the mid-Atlantic, central Appalachians and southwestern and central New England late this weekend to the first part of the week. In addition to heat advisories being in effect across the Midwest, excessive heat watches were issued for Philadelphia and the surrounding area.
A portion of the same weather system, a large area of high pressure, that has been building and broiling the south-central United States much of this week will poke northeastward in the coming days.
Actual temperatures are forecast to rise well into the 90s F from portions of Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York state, Vermont, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, West Virginia, New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware, and Virginia.

Poland's Pro-Family President Re-Elected by Narrow Margin
Poland's president was re-elected with 51.2 percent of the vote on Sunday. President Andrzej Duda, 48, of the center-right Law and Justice (PiS) party managed to see off challenger Rafał Trzaskowski, also 48, of the center-left Civic Platform (PO) party in an election with the highest voter turnout in 25 years. The election battle was closely fought, and 68.2 percent of Poland's eligible voters turned out to cast their ballot in Sunday's second round. The two contenders were so closely matched in the exit polls that it was not immediately apparent that Duda had actually won.

About CHPP
About Capitol Hill Prayer Partners
Our Mission Statement
Capitol Hill Prayer Partners (CHPP) is a ministry which is positioned on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., helping members of the Body of Christ to "pray for those in authority over us" in our federal government. Our primary purpose is to offer intercession on site for the members of Congress and their staffs each day that the Senate and the House of Representatives are in session; and our chief prayer focus is that "God's will be done in earth, as it is in heaven." [Matthew 6:10].
Because Jesus Christ has shed His blood for all, we, too, pray for ALL, in a nonpartisan manner. Also, because the scriptures indicate that "the effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" (James 4:17), we are confident that fervent prayer, offered in the halls of the highest chambers of government in our land, can avail much for America. Capitol Hill Prayer Partners welcomes those who feel called to join us, engaging in this strategic work of intercession for our nation: "For there is no power but of God; the powers that be are ordained of God." [Romans 13:1]
