Senate Strikes a Deal!

White House, Senate strike deal on historic $2T coronavirus relief bill; Pelosi offers tepid endorsement

White House and Senate leaders reached a historic deal shortly after midnight Wednesday on a massive $2 trillion coronavirus relief package for workers and businesses, and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi offered something of a tepid endorsement of the agreement after previously pushing for her own legislation.

The bipartisan breakthrough in the Senate capped days of heated negotiations that had nearly been derailed by last-minute demands from House Democrats.

"Ladies and gentleman, we are done," White House legislative affairs director Eric Ueland announced as he left the office of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., near midnight. "We have a deal."

Ueland told reporters that "much of the work on bill text has been completed, and I'm hopeful over the next few hours we'll finish what's left and we will circulate it early in the morning."

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., said the bill amounts to "unemployment compensation on steroids," and that Americans who have been laid off will have their missed salary remunerated. The package will enable companies to stay afloat and immediately bring back those employees when things are safe, Schumer said. The unprecedented economic rescue package would give direct payments to most Americans, expand unemployment benefits and provide a $367 billion program for small businesses to keep making payroll while workers are forced to stay home. The features of this bill include:

The text of the bill will be released later today, but according to press reports, the deal includes:

-- a one-time, $1,200 check for Americans making up to $75,000;

-- $367 billion for a small business loan program;

-- 100 billion for hospitals;

-- $150 billion for state and local governments;

-- $500 billion for corporate liquidity, to be overseen by an inspector general and a congressional panel.

> > > A note to our intercessors:

Last night, at 9:31 p.m., we issued our Congressional Alert, and HUNDREDS of you responded IMMEDIATELY to our call to action! You IMMEDIATELY contacted your own senators, telling them it was time to TAKE ACTION on this bill -- and within two hours, they did!

We do thank Intercessors for America for their gracious offering to broadcast their own petition to Congress, on "no notice." We are confident that this QUICK ACTION, along with the prayers of tens of thousands of saints yesterday, caused this victory to come forth. Praise the Lord!

- Father God, thank you. Help us, Holy One, to learn of Your ways in this hour, so that, if and when the enemy attacks our people again, we can stop him in his tracks and gain the victory, for Your Kingdom. In Your Name, amen.

"So shall they fear The name of the LORD from the west, And His glory from the rising of the sun; When the enemy comes in like a flood, The Spirit of the LORD will lift up a standard against him." (Isaiah 59:19)

Focus on Israel

1. Likud boycotts votes on Knesset committees - Jerusalem Post

The Likud and its satellite parties boycotted Monday evening's 61-0 vote to form the Knesset Arrangements Committees, to protest Blue and White's decision to not coordinate its appointments. Knesset speaker Yuli Edelstein abstained.

A Likud spokesman said it was unacceptable that unlike in the past, when the committees were divided between the blocs until a government was formed, this time, all the committees will be headed by MKs in Blue and White's political bloc.

"At this critical time for Israel, instead of helping, Blue and White is using dictatorial and destructive tactics out of hatred and hunger for power," the Likud spokesman said. "Because of this shameful behavior, the Likud and the nationalist camp decided to boycott the proceedings of the Knesset."

2. Netanyahu, Gantz talk up unity as their parties sling mud at each other - Times of Israel

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his rival Benny Gantz on Tuesday both expressed willingness to continue efforts to form a unity government that would include both their parties, even as Likud and Blue and White kept hurling accusations at each other.

Gantz was tasked last week with forming a government after 61 lawmakers backed him as prime minister, and he has a week left to form a coalition. However, since he does not have enough votes for a government that relies on the support of both Avigdor Liberman's hawkish Yisrael Beytenu party and the Arab-majority Joint List, the leading option has remained a unity government.

In recent days, Likud and Blue and White have clashed over the latter's bid to call a Knesset vote to replace parliament speaker Yuli Edelstein, a Likud member. Such a move would hand Gantz's party control over the legislative agenda, including, possibly, passing a law that would bar Netanyahu from serving as prime minister. The High Court on Monday night ruled that Edelstein must hold such a vote by Wednesday. Likud has warned that if Edelstein is replaced, that would be the end of unity talks.

3. Skyrocketing unemployment: Coronavirus is now officially a game-changer - Israel Hayom

The ongoing coronavirus crisis and the unprecedented steps that put Israel on a de facto lockdown has ground the economy to a halt and brought Israeli unemployment figures to a record high.

The Israeli government's chief labor agency said on Monday that in the wake of the newly announced measures aimed at containing the COVID-19 outbreak, the number of people applying for unemployment benefits has skyrocketed: So far this month some 572,000 new applications have been filed.

The overall unemployment level in Israel as of Monday is 17.6% of the workforce - an all-time high.

Despite this surge, many of those seeking benefits are still in fact employed by their organization but have been forced to take unpaid leave. The government has already said that it would make sure to mitigate the impact on those workers, including through unemployment benefits.

4. Coronavirus cases climb to 1,930 - Israel National News

The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Israel rose to 1,930 Tuesday evening, the Health Ministry announced.

Two people died from the coronavirus Tuesday, bringing the death toll to three. 34 patients remain in serious condition. 45 patients are in moderate condition. 1,795 patients are in mild condition. 53 Israelis have recovered from the disease.

Malka Keva, a 67-year-old resident of Bat Yam, was identified as the woman who died Tuesday of complications from the coronavirus at Wolfson Hospital in Holon. Her husband and other family members have tested positive for the virus.

5. Israeli Military Readying to Enforce Potential Total Shutdown of Country - Algemeiner

Israel's military is preparing for a potential total shutdown of the country due to the coronavirus pandemic and is planning to mobilize eight battalions to aid authorities in enforcing it.

Israel's Channel 13 reported that these battalions would work with and supplement civilian police forces, carry no weapons, and have no judicial authorities over civilians.

The IDF is also readying for a complete closure of the West Bank to prevent the possible spread of coronavirus into Israel.

At the same time, thousands of troops would be used to provide food and medicine to at-risk populations - particularly the sick and elderly.

The IDF Home Front Command would be tasked with aiding Israelis returning from abroad. They would be isolated in hotels, according to the guidelines of the Ministry of Health.

1. Clyburn Brazenly Admits What We Suspected: Dems Using COVID To Change America To Fit Their Vision-Western Journal

On Sunday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi tossed a purely partisan grenade into the Senate and utterly destroyed a bipartisan legislative package intended to provide desperately needed economic relief to the country amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Both Republican and Democratic senators had spent several days negotiating a nearly $2 trillion package that would provide financial assistance to workers, small businesses, large corporations and certain industries hit particularly hard by the economic shutdown in response to the public health crisis.

"This is a tremendous opportunity to restructure things to fit our vision," the South Carolina Democrat reportedly told his fellow Democratic lawmakers during the conference call. Other provisions mentioned by other Democrats in the conference call included things like infrastructure spending, expanding Social Security benefits, election security issues, environmental concerns, limits or requirements attached to any "bailouts" of large corporations, unionized labor demands, and other things that weren't directly related to immediate economic stimulus.

2. Here is the Far-Left Wish List Nancy Pelosi Just Blew Everything Up For-TownHall

As previously reported, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi came back to Washington D.C. last night after a week long recess and blew up days of emergency relief work done by the Senate. She wants to write her own far left bill and now we know what will be in it.

Democrat caucus will demand the following be included:
-Publication of corporate pay statistics by race and race statistics for all corporate boards
-A bail out on all current debt at the Postal Service
-Required early voting
-Required same day voter registration
-Provisions on official time for union collective bargaining
-Full offset of airline emissions by 2025
-Publication and reporting of greenhouse gas statistics for individual flights
-Retirement plans for community newspaper employees
-Federal $15 minimum wage
-Permanent paid leave
-Study on climate change mitigation efforts
The provisions will apply to the companies and business rescued by the bill.

3. Soros Bankrolls Coronavirus Attack Ads Against Trump- Free Beacon

The Democratic Party's leading super PAC will begin hitting President Donald Trump over coronavirus in four battleground states, using millions from liberal billionaire George Soros.

Priorities USA Action-the Democratic Party's largest super PAC-will spend $6 million this week on advertisements criticizing Trump for his response to the coronavirus pandemic. The ads will run in Florida, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. The PAC received $3 million in contributions from Soros's Democracy PAC on Feb. 21, new filings show. Soros's seven-figure donation accounts for 77 percent of the $3.9 million the PAC reported hauling in last month.

As part of this plan, Priorities USA has said it intends to spend upward of $150 million against Trump in states like Michigan and Wisconsin.

4. Connecticut Gov. calls on Trump to impose nationwide shelter-in-place order-Yahoo News

President Donald Trump should impose a nationwide order that requires Americans to stay in their homes as much as possible, says Democratic Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont, urging Trump to sharply escalate the U.S. response to the new coronavirus outbreak.

Lamont announced on Friday an order for his state that requires all nonessential businesses to close and recommends that residents maintain social distancing and limit outdoor activities - a stay-at-home measure similar to those that, as of Monday, have been announced by at least eight other states, including New York and California.

But a patchwork of state measures is not enough to adequately contain coronavirus, or COVID-19, Lamont said in a newly released interview on "Influencers with Andy Serwer." "I'd like the federal government to set a clear direction on the rules of the road," Lamont says. "Having everybody stay at home for the next few weeks, when this thing is raging, when it's most contagious, makes very good sense."

One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to inquire in his temple. (Psalm 27:4)

5. Millions could die and hospitals will be totally overwhelmed if America ends the coronavirus lockdown early, says Johns Hopkins-The Daily Mail

A health expert on Monday warned that coronavirus will 'spread widely, rapidly, terribly and millions could die' if Donald Trump lifts lockdowns in the United States early.

Tom Inglesby, a director at the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security, tweeted his fears after the president said he will reconsider the nation's social distancing policy within a matter of days. Inglesby tweeted a thread aimed at 'anyone advising the end of social distancing.'

He wrote: 'COVID would spread widely, rapidly, terribly, could kill potentially millions in the yr ahead with huge social and economic impact across the country.'

The president has indicated he supports a return to normal life. 'America will, again, and soon, be open for business. Very soon,' President Trump said at the daily White House coronavirus briefing Monday.

We especially ask for discernment for President Trump and his staff.

6. Trump says he hopes to have economy reopen by Easter-The Hill

President Trump on Tuesday said he hopes to have the country's economy back up and running by Easter - Sunday, April 12 - his most concrete goal to date for easing off restrictions meant to curb the spread of the coronavirus. Trump in a Fox News virtual town hall doubled down on his push to reopen businesses in a matter of weeks in order to reinvigorate the U.S. economy amid the coronavirus outbreak.

"It's not built to shut down. Our people are full of vim and vigor and energy. They don't want to be locked in a house or an apartment or some space," Trump said during a Fox News town hall Tuesday afternoon. "I would love to have the country opened up and just raring to go by Easter," Trump later added.

7. Dow rebounds more than 11% in best day since 1933 as Congress nears coronavirus stimulus deal.-CNBC

The Dow Jones Industrial Average soared on Tuesday, logging its best day in 87 years as investors bet U.S. lawmakers would deliver soon a stimulus bill to rescue the economy from the damage caused by the coronavirus and shutdowns designed to stop its spread. It was a historic bounce coming amid a historic sell-off.

A deal was expected to be reached at some point Tuesday after failed negotiations over the last two days that sent the market on a wild trip. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi told CNBC's Jim Cramer there is "real optimism" in Congress over a stimulus deal being reached. "We think the bill has moved sufficiently to the side of workers," she said.

"From a market perspective . . . it feels like we're coming to the end of it," said Michael Novogratz, CEO of Galaxy Digital, on CNBC's "Squawk Box." Novogratz started buying into this market on Monday, he said.

8. 1,000 Inmates Will Be Released From N.J. Jails to Curb Coronavirus Risk-New York Times

New Jersey will release as many as 1,000 people from its jails in what is believed to be the nation's broadest effort to address the risks of the highly contagious coronavirus spreading among the incarcerated.

New Jersey's chief justice, Stuart Rabner, signed an order late Sunday authorizing the release of inmates serving certain types of sentences in county jails as the number of coronavirus cases in detention centers nationwide continues to mount.

The order applies to inmates jailed for probation violations as well as to those convicted in municipal courts or sentenced for low-level crimes in Superior Court. The release of inmates will begin Tuesday morning.

9. Ford using F-150 parts to design respirators for coronavirus fight-Fox News

Ford is helping 3M redesign the powered air-purifying respirator (PAPR) that it makes for first responders and health care workers to protect them from contracting the virus while treating patients.

The new device incorporates a fan normally used to for ventilated F-150 seats, 3M HEPA filters and power tool batteries for portability. Ford is looking into the feasibility of manufacturing them at an initial rate of 1,000 units per month at the Advanced Manufacturing Center, where it currently 3D-prints brake parts for the Mustang Shelby GT500, with plans to quickly expand production beyond that number.

In the meantime, Ford has started producing transparent face shields to protect health care workers from bodily fluids and expects to be manufacturing them at a rate of 100,000 per week by next week.

10. US slashes aid to Afghanistan after Pompeo visit to Kabul-AP News

The Trump administration is slashing $1 billion in assistance to Afghanistan and threatening further reductions in all forms of cooperation after the country's rival leaders failed to agree on forming a new government. The decision to cut the aid was made on Monday by Secretary of State Mike Pompeo after he made an unannounced, urgent visit to Kabul to meet with Ashraf Ghani and Abdullah Abdullah, the rival Afghan politicians who have each declared themselves president of the country after disputed elections last year. Pompeo had hoped to break the deadlock but was unable to.

In an unusually harsh statement, Pompeo slammed the two men for being unable to work together and threatening a potential peace deal that could end America's longest-running conflict. The U.S. has been the prime backer of the Afghan government since it invaded the country in 2001 and overthrew the Taliban after the 9/11 attacks.

The COVID-19 propaganda machine

It won't be long, maybe a few days, that you will not be getting the raw, candid, unedited live version of President Trump's COVID-19 news briefings. These are too much for the very biased news media to handle, especially when they cannot put their own spin on the President's words. The free press is making decisions to bind up the raw material and do their own "fact checking" on everything the President says about COVID-19 recovery. When this decision is made, you will be hearing a lot more from Democratic Presidential candidate Joe Biden showing his brand of leadership by cowering in his home in a makeshift studio taking pot shots at everything the President says. Now that's real news coverage, right?

At a time in our nation when good news is difficult to find, the news media wants to do its part in bringing the darkest, gloomiest account of how America is no more. The great American ideal of being able to meet any and all challenges with a spirit of hope, creative ingenuity, and undeniable courage is cast aside by a news media that wants to show all the bad things that happen because their darling socialist is not in leadership. Instead of finding the stories of victory over this virus, they brood over how any glimmer of hope is just a fleeting misfire. Instead of telling the many stories of how people of all races, ethnicities, and social strata are working together and caring for one another, they show the dark side of humanity. Oh, I guess that's news.

Somehow the news media has determined that Trump is using the COVID-19 news briefings as campaign rallies. So they are wanting to quit covering them live and edit down the content so they can fix the Trump narrative of how America can defeat this virus. They are so bent on the idea that Trump's actions are resulting in more deaths than necessary, that they can't even begin to fathom that there might just be some truth in hope. I've watched many of these briefings, and the questions asked by these young socialists are disrespectful, sarcastic and misleading. Yet, Trump and his team have exercised great patience in answering all of them, no matter how ridiculous they are.

The news media has the chance to grill the President every day, essentially have an interview with him on a daily basis. Good journalists would thirst for such a chance. These politically intolerant, ideological bigots are so eager to hear their own opinions that they want to shut down a very rare chance to provide insight on the President's thinking during a time of historic crisis. The media's ignorant group think, its collective bias, laziness, and arrogance is a disservice to the First Amendment. They are a propaganda machine for ignorance, while selling themselves as enlightenment. You will not find much truth in the media. As 1 Thessalonians 5:21 says, "Prove all things; hold fast that which is good." Discernment is key to your mental health and survival. Be careful what and how much news you watch — even more careful what you believe.

SITTING AT THE FEET OF JESUS

"She had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus' feet, and heard His word." (Luke 10:39)

Lyrics

Sitting at the feet of Jesus,
Oh, what words I hear Him say!
Happy place! so near, so precious!
May it find me there each day.

Sitting at the feet of Jesus,
I would look upon the past;
For His love has been so gracious,
It has won my heart at last.

Sitting at the feet of Jesus,
Where can mortal be more blest?
There I lay my sins and sorrows
And, when weary, find sweet rest.

Sitting at the feet of Jesus,
There I love to weep and pray,
While I from His fullness gather
Grace and comfort every day.

Bless me, O my Savior, bless me,
As I sit low at Thy feet.
Oh, look down in love upon me;
Let me see Thy face so sweet.

Give me, Lord, the mind of Jesus;
Make me holy as He is.
May I prove I've been with Jesus,
Who is all my righteousness.

'Prayer Warrior' Children In Africa Fervently Interceding against COVID-19; Lay Hands On World Map

[GODTV.com] In Africa, children prayed for the nations by laying their hands on the world map to pray against the COVID-19 global pandemic the world is facing today.

In a Facebook post by Celia Mendes on March 19, she wrote, "In Mozambique, we still don't have any confirmed cases of coronavirus but we are praying for all affected countries around the world!"

The post went viral with more than 50,000 shares now. And it has greatly encouraged thousands to pray amidst what is happening in the world today.

Apparently, these children are from the missionary project Kutsemba Ka Africa (Believe in Africa) in Gumbane, Mozambique. According to Bibliatodo News, it is a faith-based initiative association "that provides assistance to children and people in need." And Celia, the woman who shared the post, is leading the project. For 17 years, she has been a missionary in Mozambique.
