TODAY'S TOP STORY
Senate Republicans force Dems to vote on CRT, fracking, abortion and more in marathon 'vote-a-rama'

Senate Republicans forced Democrats to take tough votes on issues ranging from critical race theory to abortion to fracking during a 14-hour "vote-a-rama" Tuesday and Wednesday as they put up resistance to the budget resolution that opens the door for Democrats to pass a $3.5 trillion spending plan.

The vote-a-rama – in which senators can bring nonbinding amendments up for votes until they get tired of doing so – is a necessary procedural step in budget reconciliation. Democrats are using that process to sidestep the legislative filibuster in the Senate, therefore allowing them to pass a wish list of programs without input from Republicans.

But GOP senators extracted their pound of flesh during the vote-a-rama, getting Democrats on the record on dozens of issues that could serve as messaging points during the 2022 midterms. They even forced Democrats to split on several issues, therefore successfully passing some of their amendments.
One of those victories was an amendment from Sen. Tom Cotton R-Ark., supporting banning federal funds from backing critical race theory in schools. Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., joined all 49 Republicans present to vote in favor of the amendment. "Today some want to replace our founding principles with critical race theory, want to teach our children America is not a good nation but a racist nation," Cotton said on the Senate floor. "Those teachings are wrong, and our tax dollars should not support them."
Four Democrats – both Nevada senators and Sens. Mark Kelly, D-Ariz., and Maggie Hassan, D-N.H. – voted in favor of an amendment that supported more resources for deporting criminal illegal aliens. Sen. Bill Hagerty, R-Tenn., introduced that amendment.
Nearly all Democrats, meanwhile, opposed an amendment from Sen. Jim Inhofe, R-Okla., supporting a ban on abortions of children with Down syndrome. Manchin joined Republicans in supporting the amendment while Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, opposed it. "Senate Democrats just voted to allow the most lethal kind of discrimination imaginable: being singled out and brutally killed because of a Down syndrome diagnosis," Sen. Steve Daines, R-Mont., tweeted. "Every life is precious, no matter how small, no matter how many chromosomes they may have."

All Republicans backed an amendment from Sen. James Lankford, R-Okla., to oppose federal funding for abortion. His amendment passed with support from Manchin.

"I am so excited. This is perhaps the highlight of this long torturous night. This is a gift," Sen. Cory Booker, D-N.J., said Tuesday evening. Booker was reacting to an amendment from Sen. Tommy Tuberville, R-Ala., opposing the defunding of police. "If it wasn't a complete abdication of Senate procedures and esteem, I would walk over there and hug my colleague from Alabama," Booker added in an exaggerated tone. "There's some people who have said that there are members of this deliberative body that want to defund the police… This senator has given us the gift of finally once and for all we can put to bed the scurrilous accusation." (Read more)

- Father God, we rejoice at the victories for righteous legislation that are cited in thisarticle, and we repent for the wicked bills that were passed in last night's Vote-a-rama in the U.S. Senate. We are especially grieved at the defeat of Senator Inhofe's ban on abortions of children with Down syndrome. Lord God, have mercy, we pray, amen and amen.

- "Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep." (Romans 12:15)
FOCUS ON ISRAEL

1. In Rabat, Lapid holds lengthy talks with Moroccan FM, who urges 2-state solution - Times of Israel

RABAT, Morocco — Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita called for a two-state solution based on the pre-1967 border on Wednesday, after signing a series of framework agreements with Foreign Minister Yair Lapid.

Speaking in Arabic, Bourita said that “negotiations are the only way to reach a final and comprehensive solution for two states living side by side in total peace.”

He added that Morocco’s King Mohammad VI wants a secure Israel “based on the borders of 1967.” (Read more)

2. In Morocco, Lapid signs three accords to boost ties - World Israel News

The foreign ministers of Israel and Morocco on Wednesday signed three accords in a new step toward strengthening ties less than a year after agreeing to normalize relations.

Visiting Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid and Nasser Bourita, his Moroccan counterpart, signed off on an air service agreement between the North African kingdom and the state of Israel and an agreement to cooperate in the fields of culture, sports and youth.

They also signed a memorandum of understanding on the establishment of a political consultation mechanism between their countries’ foreign ministries.

It was not immediately clear what such a memorandum would encompass but appeared to fit into the wider design of the face-to-face diplomacy during Lapid’s two-day visit to Morocco. The trip will be capped on Thursday by the inauguration of Israel’s liaison mission in Rabat, the capital. (Read more)

3. US Pressures Israel to Open Palestinian Authority Consulate in Jerusalem - Jewish Press

(Israel Hayom via JNS) U.S. administration officials have worked to delay a bill proposed by Knesset member Nir Barkat (Likud) which, if passed into law, would essentially prevent the reopening of a de facto U.S. embassy to the Palestinian Authority in Jerusalem.

The bill seeks to ban any country from establishing a diplomatic mission in Jerusalem that is not a mission to Israel. The bill further specifies that any mission established to provide consular services specifically to Jerusalem residents will require special permission from the Israeli government.

Barkat, who in July met with several Republican and Democratic congressmen and senators in Washington to explain the dangers of such a move, told Israel Hayom: “The act of establishing a Palestinian consulate in Jerusalem means recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Palestine. The administration’s consent on this matter is disastrous. I intend to aggressively fight this dangerous decision. It is a red line that cannot be crossed. Jerusalem will remain the capital of unified Jerusalem for all eternity.” (Read more)

4. The Health Ministry's dire predictions - Israel National News

Israel's Health Ministry on Tuesday presented to Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett a scenario which would see nearly 5,000 coronavirus patients hospitalized by September 10 - just one month from now.

That prediction includes 2,400 coronavirus patients in serious condition, and 4,800 hospitalized, Channel 12 News reported. By the end of August, there are expected to be 2,400 coronavirus patients hospitalized, among them 1,200 who are seriously ill.

The current maximum capacity of all hospitals in Israel is 1,200 seriously ill coronavirus patients; as of Wednesday morning, Israel's four HMOs are preparing to care for an additional 1,000 seriously ill patients via in-home care.

In accordance with Health Minister Nitzan Horowitz's (Meretz) demand, Bennett has agreed to increase the number of staff required to prepare for handling such a scenario, the Channel 12 report said. (Read more)

5. Israel set to approve new Palestinian and Jewish building in West Bank - Times of Israel

The government is slated to approve new building in Palestinian areas of the West Bank as well as in Jewish settlements.

Defense Minister Benny Gantz has approved the construction of 1,000 Palestinian homes in the Israeli-controlled Area C, mostly in the Jenin and Bethlehem areas, a defense official confirmed to The Times of Israel Wednesday

Meanwhile, the ministry’s Civil Administration will also okay some 2,000 new homes in West Bank settlements, for the first time since both Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and US President Joe Biden took office.

Area C makes up some 60 percent of the West Bank and is fully under Israeli security and administrative control. Israel rarely approves Palestinian construction in Area C, with the overwhelming majority of requests being denied. This has resulted in rampant illegal building, which is in turn often demolished by Israel. (Read more)

1. Pentagon: Service Members Can Request Exemptions to COVID-19 Vaccine Mandate - Epoch Times

U.S. military service members will be allowed to seek an exemption to the soon-to-be-mandated COVID-19 vaccines, which would be determined by individual military service regulations, a Pentagon spokesperson said. “There is a religious exemption possibility for any mandatory vaccine, and there’s a process that we go through to counsel the individual both from a medical and from a command perspective about using a religious exemption,” Pentagon press secretary John Kirby said during a press briefing on Aug. 10.

The department would make sure that every individual with reservations gets proper counseling on the COVID-19 vaccine’s safety and efficacy, Kirby said. Both a medical professional and a commander would counsel the individual about the risks of not being vaccinated and how that might affect deployability, assignments, travel, teammates, and the mission.

“We take freedom of religion and worship seriously in the military. It’s one of the things that we sign up to defend,” Kirby said. “And so it’s something that’s done very carefully.”
Service members also will be able to apply for medical exemptions, Kirby said. “The primary care physician will be able to help make that determination,” he added. (Read more)
- Thank you Lord for this protection measure for our precious military men and women. We pray that there will be no backlash or discrimination based on those who make this decision in Jesus name.

2. Tropical Storm Fred could make 'comeback' prior to striking US - Accuweather.com

Tropical Storm Fred was nearing the large Caribbean island of Hispaniola on Wednesday, and the storm is expected to weaken some as it moves across the island into the evening. However, AccuWeather forecasters warn that the system has the potential to strengthen to hurricane force once it moves into the eastern Gulf of Mexico. It will then skirt just west of Florida this weekend on a path toward landfall in the southeastern United States early next week, potentially making two U.S. landfalls.

AccuWeather forecasters have rated Fred a 1 on the AccuWeather RealImpact Scale™ for the United States. Damaging winds and coastal flooding are both likely to result from Fred, but AccuWeather forecasters are most concerned by the threat of excessive rainfall and flooding that could ensue if the storm slows down significantly over the southeastern U.S. as predicted.

"Even though dry air and the mountains of Hispaniola will tear away at Fred in the short term, people need to remain vigilant about this system as it is likely to make a comeback prior to reaching the U.S. this weekend," AccuWeather Chief On-Air Meteorologist Bernie Rayno said.

"There is a good chance for two landfalls in the U.S. with Fred with the first likely in the Florida Keys early Saturday and the second likely over northern Florida by early next week," Rayno said. (Read more)

- We take authority over this storm Fred and command it to spiral right out to sea and come to absolutely nothing anywhere, in Jesus Name!  We bind and rebuke every force that is pushing it to turn into a hurricane and wreak havoc and say, "oh no you don't!"  We bind you on earth and thus, you are also bound in heaven!  We loose the shalom of Almighty God over the waters, the islands and the lands and ask You Lord to bring the temperatures into an alignment for peace, in Jesus name!

3.  29 Public Schools in Tennessee Teach the Bible Thanks to $1.8 Million Gift - Christian Headlines

One of Tennessee's largest public school districts has received a $1.8 million gift this month from a non-profit organization as reimbursement for teaching Bible history elective classes to more than 4,500 students for the 2020-21 academic year.

The monetary gift from Bible in the Schools to Hamilton County Schools in Chattanooga is part of a unique partnership that allows the district to teach viewpoint-neutral Bible courses examining Scripture from a historical, non-sectarian perspective. Although the program likely would stir controversy in certain parts of the U.S., it has a long history in Hamilton County. The partnership between Bible in the Schools and the country began in 1922.

More than 4,600 students in 29 public schools took a Bible elective course during the previous academic year. It was a record enrollment for the courses.

Bryan Johnson, superintendent of Hamilton County Schools, said it was an "honor to once again accept the gift" on behalf of the school district. "This gift sponsors the education of thousands of public school students in our district," he said in a news release. "The countywide Bible History elective program encourages students in grades 6-12 to recognize the rich cultural connections between an ancient text and our modern world. "Hamilton County seeks to graduate students who are future-ready and prepared for success in college and career," Johnson added. "By thinking critically and engaging in historically rich conversations, HCS is preparing students to become global thinkers and responsible citizens."

The classes are designed to pass constitutional scrutiny, and no tax dollars are involved, according to Bible in the Schools. The school district hires the teachers, who must have at least 12 credit hours of Bible content from an accredited college or university. (Read more)

- Ah Father -- this is outstanding!  Thank You for releasing this connection in our nation.  It just feels good to see and hear that there are some kids in our nation who will be touched with the living and powerful word of God that never comes back void.  May the light be inscribed on the tablets of the hearts of the children just as it has sharpened their minds and understanding.

4. Arizona Attorney General’s Office Launches Investigation Into Maricopa County - Brietbart

The investigation was launched in response to a legislative request from Arizona State Senate Majority Whip Sonny Borrelli (R-Lake Havasu City). Under Arizona law, the Attorney General is required to initiate an investigation into any request for investigation filed with its office by a state legislator.

The letter, addressed to Thomas P. Liddy, Esq. of the Civil Services Division of the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office, was signed by Arizona Deputy Solicitor General Michael S. Catlett

“The Request alleges that MCBOS [the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors] is acting in conflict” with Arizona statutes that require compliance with subpoenas issued by the Arizona State Senate for information from the November 2020 election needed for the completion of the forensic audit initiated by that legislative body on April 23, the letter states. (Read more)

- Lord we pray over this investigation that it would be done according to your will. We pray only good comes out of it and the truth comes forth. In Jesus name.

- “and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:32)

5. CDC adjusts Florida COVID-19 numbers after health department call-out - Fox News

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Tuesday updated its COVID-19 tracker for Florida over the past few days after the state’s department of health appealed publically for an update.

The CDC told Fox News in an email on Tuesday that it was working with the state’s health department to correct the information. The state took to Twitter on Monday to ask the CDC to update its COVID-19 case tracker because it incorrectly combined "MULTIPLE days into one." The Sunday total was the state’s worst ever, according to the CDC data.

The CDC initially reported 28,317 new cases on Sunday but adjusted that number to 19,584 by Tuesday. The health department said there were 15,319 cases on Sunday. The CDC and the state did not immediately respond to an after-hours email from Fox News about the discrepancy.  (Read more)

- Lord God we pray over this organization and we forbid the lies and schemes of the devil to operate any longer. We pray you would start a good and Godly work in the organization and we pray there will be a cleansing in this organization for your will Lord and your pleasure. In Jesus name, amen.

- And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. (Philippians 1:6)
6. Biden hits 'disingenuous' GOP governors on COVID-19 mandates - Washington Examiner

President Joe Biden continued his war of words with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, a possible 2024 rival, accusing some in the GOP of having a hypocritical stance on COVID-19 mandates.

Speaking at the White House on Tuesday to mark the Senate’s passage of the bipartisan infrastructure package, Biden took aim at governors, such as DeSantis and Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, who have opposed mask mandates while attempting to ban local and private sectors from implementing face-covering requirements.

One of the things that I find a little disingenuous [is] when I suggest people in zones where there is a high risk [to] wear the masks like you all do, I’m told that government should get out of the way and not do that, we don’t have the authority to do that,” he told reporters. (Read more)

- We pray Lord that you would replace Biden’s heart of stone with a heart of flesh. Let him and his administration have eyes to see and ears to hear the Spirit of God and what’s best for this country in Jesus name.

- “And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.”          (Ezekiel 36:26)

7. NY's first female governor taking over after Andrew Cuomo resignation - The Hill

Following Andrew Cuomo’s resignation as the governor of New York on Tuesday, the state’s lieutenant governor, Kathy Hochul, will be taking over the position — making her the first female governor of New York.

Cuomo’s resignation comes following months of harassment allegations and the release of an explosive report on the allegations, conducted by the New York Office of the Attorney General. In recent days, President Biden had urged Cuomo to step down and those in his orbit, such as Time’s Up leader Roberta Kaplan, have also resigned.

Hochul, a 62-year-old Democrat who has also served in the past as a member of Congress for Buffalo, is officially the state’s 57th governor. She took to social media following the announcement to comment on the resignation and her appointment.
“I agree with Governor Cuomo's decision to step down. It is the right thing to do and in the best interest of New Yorkers,” Hochul tweeted. “As someone who has served at all levels of government and is next in the line of succession, I am prepared to lead as New York State’s 57th Governor.” (Read more)

- Lord we pray over this new individual that she would dedicate her time and her energy to doing what is best for the people of New York. We pray she would adhere to your spirit to restore to New York the life of God and the hope of opportunity or once was in Jesus name.

- "And He has filled him with the Spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding and in knowledge and in all craftsmanship." (Exodus 35:31)
8. Homeschooling spike expected to continue during COVID-19 pandemic, even as schools reopen - Fox News

Even though most school districts have reopened their doors this semester, many students will not be returning to the classroom. The number of students being homeschooled has nearly doubled since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. The National Home Education Research Institutes estimates about 5 million students were homeschooling in March 2021. In 2020, that number sat at 2.6 million.

"Interest has exploded," said Christopher Chin, the president of Homeschool Louisiana, a faith-based support group for homeschooling families. Chin said he'd expect this trend to continue even after the pandemic.

"There is going to be some melt where people do go back into an institutional school setting, but for many parents, they’re finding this is a better way of life for them and their children," Chin said.

He added that families have turned to homeschooling for various reasons over the past year, including increased concern over school shootings and bullying issues.

He also said he's found the "traditional" homeschool parents are no longer just stay-at-home moms. "The pandemic changed the way many companies work," Chin said. "Now, even two-income households have the flexibility to teach their children at home and they're taking that opportunity." (Read more)

- Lord God, we thank You that there is a redemptive purpose in this pandemic: helping parents wake up to the woke curriculum in the public schools, which now serve as indoctrination centers for the New World Order. We ask that Your grace would be sufficient for each family now considering the joys and the challenges of home schooling, and that each parent would be led to the resources that are needed to provide excellent home instruction programs for their children. In Your
name, amen and amen.

"And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose." (Romans 8:28)

9. Taliban Now Controls Nine Provincial Capitals As U.S. Forces Continue To Withdraw From Afghanistan - FORBES

The Taliban managed to seize three more provincial capitals in Afghanistan, local officials said on Wednesday, a move that now puts nine of the nation’s 34 such towns under the control of the Islamist insurgent group as it tries to make a push towards the national capital of Kabul while U.S. troops continue their planned withdrawal from the country.

The Taliban captured the capitals of Badakhshan and Baghlan provinces in the northeast and Farah province in the west, forcing pro-government forces to retreat into the Kelagi desert, home to a large Afghan army base.

The fall of Faizabad, the capital of Badakhshan in the remote Northern Province, is seen as a major blow as it was once considered an anti-Taliban stronghold.

The Taliban’s relentless offensive and massive gains in the past few months have put severe pressure on Afghan security forces who are now fighting the insurgent group on their own with very little assistance from U.S. troops.

The Afghan army’s regular forces have largely been routed in the battlefield—sometimes fleeing the battle by the hundreds—forcing small groups of special forces and the Afghan air force to lead the fight against the insurgents. (Read more)

- Father God, we ask that You would show the people of Afghanistan Your hand of mercy in this time of increasing terror. May they come to know You as their Savior and their Lord, and may their own army find courage as they seek to fight the Taliban and preserve their own nation. Amen.

And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive. (Matthew 21:22)

Stupidocrisy: COVID Marxism

The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, August 11, 2021

Former president Barak Obama had his 60th birthday bash at his $12 million oceanfront estate in Martha’s Vineyard. Side note: wasn’t he the one who told us all that the global warming crisis will soon permanently flood the coasts? I guess he solved that problem for Martha’s Vineyard folks, but I digress.  A bunch of leftist politicians and Hollywood elites braved the threat of global warming by flying in on private jets (Pelosi-style) for the party. No masks. No social distancing against the backdrop of his former vice president, now president, Joe Biden encouraging vaccine mandates, mask mandates, and considering more lockdowns. But Obama was always a “do as I say, not as I do” kind of guy. It’s the Marxist way.

The White House has repeatedly said it would not do a nationwide vaccine or mask mandate. In the same breath Biden’s people say communities and businesses are encouraged to implement their own mandates. We have seen this in action where corporations like Walmart, Google, Facebook, Tyson Foods and United Airlines have announced vaccine mandates for some or all of their employees. In New York, a vaccine passport will be required later in the month for people to go to a restaurant or other public gatherings. Some localities are mulling over mask mandates and vaccine requirements for school children. Some companies are considering a vaccine surcharge to be deducted from paychecks of employees who do not get vaccinated. Why should the government jack boot its countrymen when businesses will willingly do it for them? Read More

Democratic Gov. Calls for Prayer and Fasting amid COVID Outbreak:

'I Believe Very Strongly' in Prayer

Saying he believes "very strongly" in the power of prayer, Louisiana's Democratic governor is calling on citizens to pray and fast for an end to COVID-19.

He also is encouraging Louisianans to get vaccinated and to wear masks.

Gov. John Bel Edwards – a right-leaning governor in a left-leaning party – issued the call to prayer on Friday, saying he is urging citizens who "believe in the power of prayer" to join him and his wife, First Lady Donna Edwards, in "praying and fasting during their lunch time" on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday for Louisiana health care workers and for "all of those who are sick with or affected by COVID-19."

"In addition to prayer, the Governor encourages all Louisianans to help slow the spread of COVID by getting their vaccines and wearing masks whenever they are indoors and in public," a news release by the governor's office said.

Edwards issued the statement, he said, after talking to a group of pastors.

"Yesterday, I asked hundreds of ministers and pastors throughout Louisiana to join me during the lunch hour next Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday in praying and fasting for our state, and I am extending this invitation to anyone and everyone who is so inclined, no matter their religious beliefs," Edwards said. "I believe very strongly in the power of prayer, and there are thousands of people right now in Louisiana who need to be lifted up in prayer. So I hope you will join your prayers to mine for healing and protection."

Edwards said he will be praying:

  • "that our sick may fight this illness."
  • "that the medical professionals caring for them can remain strong and safe."
  • "that our children, teachers and school support staff can safely begin the school year."
  • "that our people will do everything they can to help us slow the spread of this terrible virus."

Louisiana is experiencing an all-time high in COVID-19 cases according to a seven-day average. According to the Louisiana Department of Health, the number of hospitalizations for the virus is also at a record high. (Christian Headlines) Read more.

- Thank you, Lord, for a Godly man in the office of governor of the state.  We pray that many people would join him in prayer over the needs in the state.  Lord God, let there also be prayers of repentance offered at this time, too. Father, hear and answer their prayers for this foul virus to be quelled, in Jesus name.

- "The Lord is my strength and my shield; My heart trusted in Him, and I am helped; . . . "  (Psalm 28:7a)

Senate passes Cotton’s amendment preventing federal funds from promoting CRT in school

The U.S. Senate on Tuesday voted to pass Sen. Tom Cotton’s amendment in the budget reconciliation package that prohibits federal funds to be used to promote critical race theory in schools.

Christopher Rufo, a senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute who has been critical of CRT, posted that the Senate approved the amendment in a 50-49 vote.

"The fight against CRT has gone national—and Sen. Cotton is leading the way," he posted.

Critical race theory has been the center of debate in D.C. and local school districts. It is seen as a way of considering America’s history through the lens of racism.

"Scholars developed it during the 1970s and 1980s in response to what they viewed as a lack of racial progress following the civil rights legislation of the 1960s," the Associated Press reported. "It centers on the idea that racism is systemic in the nation’s institutions and that they function to maintain the dominance of white people in society."

Cotton, R-Ark., posted a video of himself addressing the chamber. He said that he was raised to believe that the U.S. is a great nation. He called CRT an "un-American ideology."

"They want to teach our children that America is not a good nation, but a racist nation," he said. "Those teachings are wrong and our tax dollars should not support them."

Cotton introduced the Stop CRT Act in July 2021 in an effort to prevent the funding to be used inside K-12 classes to teach the theory. (Fox News) Read more.

- O Lord God! We read this report with TEARS OF JOY at the passage of this amendment! Father, our children need to learn the truth of our American history - a nation that was founded upon a Covenant with You, promising to honor You in all our ways. Lord God, what the enemy has stolen from us must now be GIVEN BACK in a seven-fold return, so that our children will know that, indeed, America is teh greatest nation on earth. In Your name we offer this prayer, amen and amen!

- "Let everything that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord!" (Psalm 150:6)

Second Court Blocks Biden from Forcing Doctors, Hospitals to Perform Trans Surgeries Even if They Object

A federal court in Texas has blocked a controversial Biden administration policy known as the Transgender Mandate, which would force religious doctors and hospitals to perform gender transition procedures on their patients—including children—even when the procedures can be medically harmful.

The case of Franciscan Alliance v. Becerra was brought by a religious hospital, an association of more than 20,000 healthcare professionals, and nine states, and it is now the second court ruling blocking the administration from enforcing the policy.

In his decision on Monday, Judge Reed O'Connor of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas, Wichita Falls Division granted a permanent injunction to the Christian plaintiffs "to be exempt from the government's requirement to perform abortions and gender-transition procedures."

The ruling also permanently prohibits Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra "from interpreting or enforcing" the current law "in a manner that would require them to perform or provide insurance coverage for gender-transition procedures or abortions, including by denying Federal financial assistance because of their failure to perform or provide insurance coverage for such procedures or by otherwise pursuing, charging, or assessing any penalties, fines, assessments, investigations, or other enforcement actions."

"Today's ruling is a victory for compassion, conscience, and common sense," said Luke Goodrich, vice president and senior counsel at the religious liberty legal organization called Becket. "No doctor should be forced to perform controversial, medically unsupported procedures that are contrary to their conscience and could be deeply harmful to their patients." (CBN)  Read more.

Statement by Donald J. Trump, 45th President of the United States of America
August 11th Update

1. I spoke to the wonderful mother and devoted husband of Ashli Babbitt, who was murdered at the hands of someone who should never have pulled the trigger of his gun. We know who he is. If that happened to the “other side,” there would be riots all over America and yet, there are far more people represented by Ashli, who truly loved America, than there are on the other side. The Radical Left haters cannot be allowed to get away with this. There must be justice!

2. Wow, the Governor of Georgia, Brian Kemp, was booed off the stage Saturday at a Georgia Republican Party event. They wouldn’t let him speak. It is amazing how the people get what happened in Georgia, and elsewhere! The election was rigged, and everybody knows it. Kemp refused to call a Special Session of the Legislature, and did absolutely nothing. Now our Country is going to hell!

3. Good morning, America! While you were all sleeping, the Radical Democrats advanced a plan that will be known as the $3.5 trillion Communist Plan to Destroy America. This legislation is an assault on our Nation, on our communities, and on the American Dream.

It destroys our Borders and the rule of law by granting dangerous amnesty that will flood America’s beautiful cities. It will overwhelm our schools, and make our Nation less safe. It raises taxes like we have never seen, while also making many things you buy everyday more expensive (gas, groceries, and much more). And don’t forget the crazy Green New Deal. America, you are being robbed in the dark of night. It’s time to wake up!

4. Congratulations to Governor Mike Parson of Missouri for having the courage to give Mr. and Mrs. Mark McCloskey a full pardon. They were defending their property and if they had not done what they did, their property would have been completely destroyed and they would have been badly beaten, or dead—great going Mike!

A time capsule has been discovered after it was hidden inside a Seattle church 115 years ago.

The German Evangelical Church was established in 1891 in the Queen Anne neighborhood. By 1906, the building was replaced by what was called the “Evangelical Auditorium.”

It was a church until the 1960s, and then it was mostly vacant until the 1970s when it was renovated and used as a counseling center.

The building was demolished to make way for affordable housing in Seattle. Fortunately, Earthwise Architectural Salvage rescued the historic stained glass and many other interior fixtures. The hidden time capsule discovery was an exciting find and a first of its kind for the salvage crew.

Aaron Blanchard, the director of operations at Earthwise, said many older government buildings and churches would include a time capsule of some sort behind their cornerstone during construction. Tradition is to extract the capsule after 100 years and celebrate with ceremony.

“This church situation is unique because, usually, time capsules are tracked and archived but this building changed hands several times and it just wasn’t on anyone's radar," Blanchard said. Read More

'Opportunity to Be Hands and Feet of Jesus:' Bethel Offering Hope to Victims of California's Dixie Fire

CBN's Operation Blessing is helping several families that have lost homes with a potential grant and is working closely with relief partners in and around areas burned by the flames.

One of those is Bethel Global Response, a disaster response ministry out of Bethel Church in Redding, CA. It exists to respond, revive, and restore communities that have been devastated by disaster.

The ministry recently visited a center that hosts fire survivors in Quincy, many of whom had lost everything they owned.

"We sat down with over a hundred families over the course of those three days and what we saw there was devastating," Heather Quinones, deputy director of Bethel Global Response told CBN News. "The families have often lived there for multi-generations and the families' homes are often owned outright and they've been there since they were born."

Bethel Global Response is working to support families both physically and spiritually by making compassion look practical.

"Often in the face of disaster there is a great window of opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus and to express that love," says Quinones. (CBN) Read more.

Thoughts for Repentance
40 Days of Prayer

DEVISING WICKED PLANS | DAY 4
This is day four in our journey. Join us even if you are beginning today. Each day starting Saturday August 7 we have posted a sin which the Lord would have us confess and remove through personal repentance. God willing, these 40 days will lead us to the Day of Atonement on Yom Kippur September 15.

Today the sin is an abomination to the Lord found in Proverbs 6:18--a heart that devises wicked plans.

There's a SPIRITUAL DROUGHT in every nation on the planet. We are not yet honoring the Authority of the Risen Christ that He revealed in Matthew 28:18" ALL authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth."

Words and Music: C. Austin Miles

Scripture: Thinking He was the gardener, she said, Sir, if you have carried Him away, tell me where you have put Him, and I will get Him. John 20:15

Lyrics:
I come to the garden alone
While the dew is still on the roses
And the voice I hear falling on my ear
The Son of God discloses.

Refrain
And He walks with me, and He talks with me,
And He tells me I am His own;
And the joy we share as we tarry there,
None other has ever known.

He speaks, and the sound of His voice,
Is so sweet the birds hush their singing,
And the melody that He gave to me
Within my heart is ringing.

Refrain

I’d stay in the garden with Him
Though the night around me be falling,
But He bids me go; through the voice of woe
His voice to me is calling.

Refrain
