Biden Treasury Sec Yellen Paid by Chinese Communist Party-Linked Group
Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen’s financial disclosures reveal she was paid to speak at Caixin – a Beijing-based media outlet with ties to the Chinese Communist Party.
Caixin has been highlighted by The Washington Post for its ties to the Chinese Communist Party through its founder Hu Shuli, including personal friendships with former party leadership:
The news comes as critics suggest Yellen’s appointment to the role of U.S. Treasury Secretary was premature and that she faced little scrutiny from lawmakers on Capitol Hill as a result of the Biden nomination.
Biden Press Secretary Jen Psaki was asked if – given Yellen’s close financial ties to Citadel, one of the firms underwriting the short selling of GameStop – she should recuse herself from the situation.
Psaki responded with what has become a typical non-response from the Biden regime:
“We have the Treasury secretary — now confirmed. Obviously, we have a broad economic team. The SEC put out a statement yesterday that I referred to, but I don’t think I have anything more for you on it — other than to say, separate from the GameStop issue, the Secretary of Treasury is one of the world-renowned experts on markets, on the economy. It shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone she was paid to give her perspective and advice before she came into office.”

1. Ancient Cloths With Royal Purple Dye Found In Israel, Dated To King David’s time - Times of Israel
Israeli researchers have found three textile scraps near the southern tip of Israel colored with the biblically described “argaman” royal purple dye, and dated them to circa 1,000 BCE — the era of King David. The earliest ever such finds in this region, the vibrant cloths add tangible weight, in particular, to the Bible’s account of an Edomite kingdom in the area at that time.
Colored with the most precious dye of the ancient world, the textile scraps were excavated in the Timna Valley near Eilat, and offer startling new insight into an ancient elite class. The tiny, vibrantly colored Iron Age cloth pieces are the earliest evidence of this precious dye in the entire Southern Levant and shed new light on the early Edomite kingdom and Israelite kingdoms 3,000 years ago — a period when the Bible details the conquering of the Edomites by King David.
Also called “true” or “Tyrian purple,” the vibrant, millennia-lasting color is produced by dye glands gathered from three species of live murex sea snails on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea. To reach the famed King Solomon Copper Mines at Timna near the shore of the Red Sea, the cloth would have traveled hundreds of kilometers, which only added to its prestige and value. (Read more)
2. UAE, Bahrain Call For Joint Stand With Israel In Approaching US On Iran threat - Israel Hayom
The United Arab Emirates and Bahrain on Tuesday urged Israel to join their ranks in forging an outreach effort to the United States against the Iranian threat in the region.
Speaking at a joint Israeli-Emirati-Bahraini panel during an annual conference of the Institute for National Security Studies, Bahrain's Foreign Minister Abdullatif ben Rashid al Zayani said the country saw eye to eye on many aspects of the matter.
These included Iran's nuclear ambitions, ballistic missile program and support for regional terrorist groups. (Read more)
3. In A first, Arab-Initiated Event Commemorates The Holocaust In Wake of Abraham Accords - JNS
(January 27, 2021 / JNS) In the wake of the Abraham Accords and in honor of International Holocaust Memorial Day on Jan. 27, individuals from the group Sharaka held an event to memorialize victims of the Holocaust and to promote an action plan for Holocaust awareness and combating anti-Semitism.
According to Sharaka (“partnership” in Arabic), this week’s event was the first-ever initiative to commemorate the Holocaust, bringing together Arab leaders in the Middle East.
Participants from the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Morocco and Saudi Arabia—some of whom participated in Sharaka’s tour of Israel in December, which marked many of their first experiences learning about the Holocaust—were joined by viewers from North America, Europe and Israel. (Read more)
4. Hezbollah Hacks Hundreds of Companies Worldwide- Israel National News
Lebanese Cedar, the cyber unit of Hezbollah, hacked telecom companies and internet service providers using Oracle and Atlassian server's vulnerabilities.
ClearSky Cyber Security revealed today in a new report that APT group “Lebanese Cedar”, allegedly the cyber unit of Hezbollah, has successfully hacked the servers and databases of hundreds of companies worldwide, focusing mainly on telecommunications and ISP’s. It seems that the attacks aimed to gather intelligence and steal companies' databases containing sensitive data. In case of telecommunication companies, one can assume that databases containing call records and private data of clients were accessed as well.
The list of companies which appear to have been hacked includes cloud and hosting providers in the US and UK, Vodafone Egypt, internet and telephony service providers in Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Judea and Samaria, the UAE; and numerous Israeli companies. The attack group managed to hack these companies through web-based servers of Oracle and Atlassian – the provider of Jira, a popular issue-tracking software. “Apparently, these systems were hacked using known vulnerabilities of Oracle servers and open-source vulnerability scanners,” said researchers. 5. Israeli Scientists Say They’ve Found ‘Achilles’ Heel’ of Cancer Cells - Jersualem Post
A team of researchers led by scientists at Tel Aviv University say they may have stumbled upon the “Achilles’ heel” of cancer cells, which could in the future lead to the development of an entirely new array of cancer drugs and treatments.
Dr. Uri Ben-David of the Sackler Faculty of Medicine at Tel Aviv University, who led the research, told The Media Line that scientists have known for well over a century that malignant cells have an abnormal number of chromosomes. Humans have 46 chromosomes (two sets of 23) but in cancer this number changes because, during cell division, chromosome segregation takes place that can lead to a phenomenon called aneuploidy. 1. GOP Unites to Oppose Trump Impeachment Trial - AP News; IFA
All but five Senate Republicans voted in favor of an effort to dismiss Donald Trump’s historic second impeachment trial on Tuesday, making clear a conviction of the former president for “incitement of insurrection” after the deadly Capitol siege on Jan. 6 is unlikely. . . .
“I think this was indicative of where a lot of people’s heads are,” said South Dakota Sen. John Thune, the No. 2 Republican in the Senate, after the vote.
The vote means the trial on Trump’s impeachment will begin as scheduled the week of Feb. 8. The House impeached him Jan. 13, just a week after the deadly insurrection in which five people died. . . .
It’s unclear if any Republicans would vote to convict Trump on the actual charge of incitement after voting in favor of Paul’s effort to declare it unconstitutional. (Read more)
- Lord God, we thank You for this show of opposition to the impeachment trial. We ask also for the Republicans to stand with our President as he is compelled to go through this trial. We bind every objection meant to hinder President Trump and pray for him to present a comprehensive defense to every point listed in the impeachment articles and ask You Holy One to be the judge and justice in this matter, in Jesus name, amen.

2. Large Number of Troops to Remain in DC - Glenn Greenwood; IFA
Washington, DC has been continuously militarized beginning the week leading up to Joe Biden’s inauguration, when 20,000 National Guard troops were deployed onto the streets of the nation’s capital. The original justification was that this show of massive force was necessary to secure the inauguration in light of the January 6 riot at the Capitol. . . .
Working with federal law enforcement agencies, the National Guard Bureau announced on Monday that between 5,000 and 7,000 troops will remain in Washington until at least mid-March.
The rationale for this extraordinary, sustained domestic military presence has shifted several times, typically from anonymous U.S. law enforcement officials. . . .
So the new claim became that the impeachment trial of former President Trump that will take place in the Senate in February necessitated military reinforcements. On Sunday, Politico quoted “four people familiar with the matter” to claim that “Trump’s upcoming Senate impeachment trial poses a security concern that federal law enforcement officials told lawmakers last week requires as many as 5,000 National Guard troops to remain in Washington through mid-March.”
Deploying National Guard or military troops for domestic law enforcement purposes is so dangerous that laws in place from the country’s founding strictly limit its use. It is meant only as a last resort, when concrete, specific threats are so overwhelming that they cannot be quelled by regular law enforcement absent military reinforcements. Deploying active military troops is an even graver step than putting National Guard soldiers on the streets, but they both present dangers. As Trump’s Defense Secretary said in response to calls from some over the summer to deploy troops in response to the Black Lives Matter and Antifa protests: “The option to use active duty forces in a law enforcement role should only be used as a matter of last resort, and only in the most urgent and dire of situations.” (Read more)

3. Judge Bars Biden from Passing Deportation Ban - IFA
A federal judge on Tuesday barred the U.S. government from enforcing a 100-day deportation moratorium that is a key immigration priority of President Joe Biden.
U.S. District Judge Drew Tipton issued a temporary restraining order sought by Texas, which sued on Friday against a Department of Homeland Security memo that instructed immigration agencies to pause most deportations. Tipton said the Biden administration had failed “to provide any concrete, reasonable justification for a 100-day pause on deportations.” .
The order represents a victory for Texas’ Republican leaders, who often sued to stop programs enacted by Biden’s Democratic predecessor, President Barack Obama. It also showed that just as Democratic-led states and immigration groups fought former President Donald Trump over immigration in court, often successfully, so too will Republicans with Biden in office. . . .
The Department of Homeland Security referred a request for comment to the White House, which issued a statement saying the moratorium was “wholly appropriate.” (Read more) . .

4. Biden's Asia Policy Czar Helped Found Group 'Heavily Influenced by the CCP' - FreeBeacon.com
Joe Biden's incoming Asia policy czar was a top leader at a nonprofit group that was bankrolled by the head of a Chinese propaganda front group and partnered with a Chinese foreign mission.
Kurt Campbell, a former Obama State Department official and businessman, was until August 2020 listed as board vice chairman of the U.S.-China Strong Foundation, ostensibly a nonprofit group that promotes student language exchanges with Beijing but whose leaders included prominent members of the Chinese government’s overseas propaganda fronts, according to State Department and Department of Justice records.
Campbell is slated to serve as the chief coordinator for President Joe Biden’s Asia policy on the National Security Council, but his leadership role with the foundation is raising concerns with China hawks in Washington. The foundation has promoted the Chinese army and China's Belt and Road Initiative—deemed a national security threat by U.S. officials (Read more)

5. 200 House Republicans Declare ‘Unified Opposition’ to Tax-Funded Abortion - Christian Headlines
A coalition of 200 House Republicans on Tuesday signed a letter to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other Congressional leaders declaring they won’t support any budget bill that allows for taxpayer funding of abortion.
At issue is the Hyde Amendment, a legislative provision dating to the 1970s that prohibits federal funds from being used for abortions. It originally passed a Democratic-controlled House and Senate just a few years after Roe v. Wade and has been supported by every Republican and Democratic president since then, including Presidents Carter, Clinton and Obama. President Biden, though, opposed it during the campaign, and Pelosi and other Democratic leaders have said they hope to reverse it.
The amendment must be reauthorized annually. The current version allows for exceptions for rape, incest and to save the mother’s life. “The Hyde Amendment alone has saved the lives of over 2 million innocent babies and continues to protect the conscience rights of a vast majority of Americans opposed to publicly funded abortions,” the letter, signed by 200 GOP members, says. It was sent to Pelosi and leaders of both parties, although Pelosi has been the most vocal in opposition to the amendment.
“We cannot allow the Hyde Amendment and other important pro-life safeguards to be decimated by Congressional Democrats,” the letter says. “Accordingly, we pledge to vote against any government funding bill that eliminates or weakens the Hyde Amendment or other current-law, pro-life appropriations provisions.” (Read more)

6. Missouri: First Abortion Free State - The Christian Post/IFA
A pro-life group is reporting that Missouri has become the first “abortion-free state” in the U.S. after its last remaining abortion facility ceased terminating pregnancies.
Operation Rescue released a report outlining “The Status of American Abortion Facilities in 2020” last week. According to the report, “a total of 45 abortion facilities closed or halted abortions nationwide in 2020, leaving one state without an active abortion facility.”
“Reproductive Health Services Planned Parenthood in St. Louis was the last abortion facility in Missouri. It remains open, but Operation Rescue has confirmed that no abortion appointments have been available there for months, and none are available anytime in the foreseeable future. All abortion appointments are now being referred to the Fairview Heights Planned Parenthood facility across the Mississippi River in Illinois.” (Read more, including IFA's prayer points, by going here.)
- Pray that abortion clinics would close in every state due to lack of demand! Pray that women would not seek abortion as a way to deal with pregnancy. Pray for Christians to get involved in pro-life efforts–to advocate for pro-life laws, volunteer at pregnancy centers, lead post-abortion recovery groups, adopt and foster children. 7. Christians and the Reproductive Justice Movement - IFA
I received an email this week from a seminary encouraging me to join their Reproductive Justice Movement. They weren’t encouraging me to follow Jesus. To pray. To seek God. Each of their emails has encouraged me to follow after “social justice” narratives rather than biblical narratives. They have completely abandoned their original purpose for a “woke” agenda. And they are not alone.
Exactly what is “reproductive justice?”
According to “The Public Health Post,” It is centered around the “legal right to access Biden’s administration has certainly wasted no time in advancing a liberal, no restrictions, pro-death agenda against unborn children by increasing funding, access to, and availability of abortion. They believe this is “reproductive justice.”
Pelosi is now pressing to “codify” the law, which means to pass federal laws that would have the same effect as Roe v. Wade, so that even if it was overturned, abortion would still be legal and available. They want to ensure that abortion services would be free from “medically unnecessary restrictions” that “interfere” with a patient’s individual choice or the provider-patient relationship.
Obviously the “patient” is not the baby.
The pro-choice movement often uses the slogan, “My body, my choice.” Based on that statement/logic, they can do whatever they want with THEIR body. But then the baby should also have “my body/my choice” rights. And no doubt their choice would be to live. That is why in a suction abortion, medical professionals have stated it appears the baby is doing everything in its power, in the small confines of the womb, to escape the deadly suction which will end its life. - Oh, Father God! It is so critical for the body of Christ to have an honest, Biblical understanding of Godly righteousness in this earth. There has been an overwhelming flood of deception running rampant through our Christian communities, including seminaries and churches that we are surrounded with people who know not Whom they serve. We pray for creative powerful methods to teach people what You and Your word say as truth that this abortion agenda would be stopped by the church of Jesus Christ.

8. Biden administration reviewing China genocide designation - The Hill
The Biden administration is reviewing an eleventh hour decision by the Trump administration to designate as genocide China’s oppression of its minority Muslim Uighurs over concerns that proper procedures were not followed that would uphold such a designation. Linda Thomas-Greenfield, President Biden’s pick to represent the U.S. at the United Nations, said during her confirmation hearing that China’s treatment of Uighur’s is “horrific” but that the genocide designation is under review. “I think the State Department is reviewing that now because all of the procedures were not followed and I think that they're looking to make sure that they are followed to ensure that that designation is held,” she said in response to questioning from Sen. Marco Rubio.
Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced one day before Biden’s inauguration that the U.S. would recognize as genocide China’s oppression against Uighurs and other groups like ethnic Kazakhs and ethnic Kyrgyz, and that documented actions amounted to crimes against humanity. These include arbitrary detention in concentration camps, forced sterilizations, torture and forced labor, as well as restrictions of freedom of expression and religion.
The designation was welcomed by human rights groups but was viewed as a last-minute policy decision to cement Pompeo’s legacy of taking a hard-line against China at a time when Beijing is being identified as the greatest national security threat facing the United States and western Democracies.
Thomas-Greenfield emphasized in her hearing that the review was not questioning the evidence that supports a designation of genocide but making sure the U.S. is following the proper procedures in making such a designation. “What is happening with the Uighurs is horrendous and we have to recognize it for what it is,” she said. “I lived through and experienced and witnessed a genocide in Rwanda, so I know what it looks like. And I know what it feels like. And this feels like that. We just have to call it for what it is.” (Read more)

We ask that she would have a heart to do the right thing and protect these people in China who are under such outrageous assault from the communist government. Let her not find a way to retract such a serious and formal charge and that she would instead push it forward legitimately.

9. Christian Population in China Could Reach 300 Million by 2030, Despite Persecution - Christian Headlines
Dr. Ron Boyd-MacMillan, director of Strategic Research of Open Doors recently predicted a surge in Christianity in China as the population of believers may increase to 300 million by the year 2030, The Christian Post reports.
Boyd-MacMillan told the Express UK that the reason the Chinese Communist Party, under President Xi Jinping’s leadership, persecutes Christians is because they fear that the church will grow stronger in numbers. “We think the evidence as to why the Chinese Church is so targeted, is that the leaders are scared of the size of the Church, and the growth of the Church,” he noted.
“And if it grows at the rate that it has done since 1980, and that's about between 7 [percent] and 8 percent a year, then you're looking at a group of people that will be 300 million strong, nearly by 2030,” Boyd-MacMillan continued. “And, you know, the Chinese leadership, they really do long term planning. I mean, their economic plan goes to 2049, so this bothers them. Because I think if the Church continues to grow like that, then they'll have to share power.” (Read more)

Alarming signs of persecution

On Wednesday, President Joe Biden’s* acting secretary of Homeland Security issued a National Terrorism Advisory System warning that some ideologically-motivated violent extremists could mobilize to incite or commit violence. These domestic terrorists, DHS says, object to government authority, the presidential transition, and have “perceived grievances fueled by false narratives.” This bulletin is reminiscent of the very first report sanctioned by President Obama soon after he took office in April 2009, and is already being used by leftists and Democratic Party leadership to label as domestic terrorists all 74 million people who voted for President Trump. This narrative is growing alarmingly louder each day.
Adding to the list of leftists condemning all Republicans and voters for Trump was MSNBC political analyst Jason Johnson, who on Wednesday’s edition of “Deadline” said that Democrats should declare that all Republicans are “terrorists,” adding “you can’t negotiate, you can’t legislate and you can’t work with terrorists.” This is not new, but it is more pronounced each day. Twelve years ago, the first act of Obama’s DHS was a radical creed against those who disagree with government’s overreaching power. Included on the list contributing to the “phenomenon of violent radicalization in the United States” were those: interested in end times prophecies; concerned about a possible economic collapse; opposed to illegal immigration, abortion, same sex marriage, and restrictions on the right to bear arms.
These people, according to the 2009 report, were radical racists upset with the election of the first African American president. Now these are the same people with “perceived” grievances about how the current president was elected who are a threat to America. Painting all those who didn’t vote for Biden as domestic terrorists who need to be deprogramed is a radical form of ideological bigotry. But this is what is coming from the mouths of Biden’s prophets of socialism. This talk was sanctioned by Obama’s Administration in 2009, but it has grown louder and louder over the years. Now leftist influencers, the news media propagandists, and Democratic Party leadership are shouting their bigotry from the rooftops. It is alarming.
Egyptians, Babylonians, Nazis and Communists used bigotry and prejudice to persecute Jews throughout the history of the world. Americans must rise up and object to prevent today’s self-righteous political intolerants from taking a similar course against conservatives and Christians. You have a right to disagree, to speak freely, to worship God how you see fit. But unless we exercise those rights, they will atrophy into tyranny. People need to hear from normal, God-fearing citizens about the unfairness of being labeled a terrorist for disagreeing on politics. My advice: Speak up in every venue you have. Stay on point about ideological bigotry. Call on Biden to denounce these narratives. Be calm. Express yourself articulately. As in Psalm 94:16, “Who will rise up for me against the evildoers?” Our Lord will, but He often chooses to work through us.

Indonesia's Mount Merapi produces thunderous eruption
Mount Merapi, the most active volcano in Indonesia, erupted Wednesday, sending a river of lava down its slopes and causing searing gas clouds to billow 10,000 feet (3,000 m) into the sky. As a result, heavy ashfall covered nearby villages on the island of Java.
The volcano steadily picked up in activity late in 2020, but the latest eruption has officials on high alert, and AccuWeather meteorologists say late-week downpours could increase the danger in the region.
As of Wednesday evening, local time, no deaths have been reported due to the blast, according to The Associated Press (AP).
According to the head of Hanik Humaida, the head of Yogyakarta’s Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation Center, this is the largest eruption since the danger level was raised to a three for the region in November 2020. The numeric scale ranges from one to four with three being the second-highest threat level.
Yogyakarta is a major city located to the south of the volcano.
The volcano’s lava dome is growing rapidly, causing hot lava to flow down its slopes, Humaida said, according to the AP.

Stranger helped on the side of the road returned to bless family
After dropping his family off at church, Chris Wright circled back to pick up a lady walking down the side of the road with a gas can that he had seen on his way to Sunday morning service.
“She was down on her luck,” Chris said on the Today Show. “She had only $ 5 in a purse and was worried about feeding her child. I filled her gas can and drove the woman back to her car. As I started to leave, I felt a nudge to give her what I had in my wallet $40.”
The act of kindness toward TunDe Hector came at her neediest moment, and tears welled up in her eyes.
Three years later, Chris’s mom suffered a life-threatening disease and was hospitalized. After days, she was released but needed a nurse’s aide to monitor her at home.
The nurse’s aide turned out to be the same woman he helped at the side of the road – TunDe. At first, Chris didn’t recognize her and TunDe didn’t recognize Chris because the day he popped by he was wearing sweatpants and a cap on backwards. (God Reports) Read more.
