White House Announces It Will Codify Federal Abortion Law

The White House announced Friday that the Biden Administration will codify Roe v. Wade, which would allow for legal abortions even in the event that the Supreme Court overturns the 1973 ruling. The Biden Administration made the announcement in a press statement put out by the White House. “The Biden-Harris Administration is committed to codifying Roe v. Wade and appointing judges that respect foundational precedents like Roe,” reads the statement.

“In the past four years, reproductive health, including the right to choose, has been under relentless and extreme attack,” it continues. “We are deeply committed to making sure everyone has access to care—including reproductive health care—regardless of income, race, zip code, health insurance status, or immigration status.”

The Trump Administration over the last four years has enacted policies and laws that are pro-life. As part of his administration’s efforts, Trump called for defunding Planned Parenthood and late-term abortions. Trump also nominated three pro-life judges to the Supreme Court.

Meanwhile, Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) said, “Today marks the grim 48th anniversary of Roe v. Wade. Since this ruling in 1973 over 62 million innocent lives have been lost due to abortion. Every single life matters including the unborn. We must protect the sanctity of life & prevent taxpayer dollars from funding abortions.”

“Today is the tragic anniversary of Roe v. Wade,” Lesko wrote. “I am proud to be a pro-life woman in Congress and fight for the right to life for every unborn baby. Every life is a gift from God, and I will continue to defend the sanctity of life at every stage.” (The Epoch Times) Read more.

- Lord God Almighty in Heaven, we are deeply grieved at this announcement, coming from the White House on the actual 43rd anniversary of the signing of Roe v. Wade. This action is a literal slap in the face for those of us who value LIFE, and who have been "warring," in prayer and in action, over all of these years to see this ruling overturned.

Moreover, we have been told that once the decision of Roe v. Wade has been codified, it can never be reversed by the Supreme Court.

Help us, O Lord, we pray. Have mercy, Father God, have mercy! Send Your heavenly host to "do battle" against this move by the new President, and rescue those babies in the womb. In Your name, we cry out, amen and amen!

- "In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears." (Psalm 18:6)

1. Israel officially opens embassy in United Arab Emirates with arrival of envoy - Times of Israel

Israel officially opened its embassy to the United Arab Emirates in the United Arab Emirates Sunday, as Ambassador Eitan Na’eh arrived in Abu Dhabi.

The development came on the same day that the UAE approved the opening of its embassy in Tel Aviv.

“The embassy will work to advance Israel’s interests and will be at the disposal of its citizens,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

It will work from a temporary office, which will begin operations in the coming days, until a permanent location can be found, the ministry said. (Read more)

2. UAE approves new embassy in Tel Aviv - World Israel News

The government of the United Arab Emirates on Sunday approved a decision to establish an embassy in Tel Aviv.

The move comes after the two countries signed the historic Abraham Accords at the White House in September followed by ratifying full diplomatic ties in October.

“The Council of Ministers approves … the establishment of the UAE embassy in Tel Aviv in the State of Israel,” the UAE tweeted on its official government account.

During an official visit to Israel in November, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Bahraini Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani announced the opening of embassies in each other’s countries. (Read more)

3. Israel bars anti-Zionist groups from lecturing in schools amid B’Tselem claims of ‘apartheid’ - JNS

(January 22, 2021 / JNS) Earlier this month, Israel’s education minister moved to ban B’Tselem from lecturing in Israeli schools after the self-described human-rights group accused the government of being an “apartheid regime.”

“The Ministry of Education under my leadership engraved on its banner the promotion of Zionist, Jewish and democratic values, and it acts accordingly,” said Education Minister Yoav Galant. “We will not allow organizations that call the State of Israel an ‘apartheid state’ to lecture to students about to be drafted into the Israel Defense Forces.”

The unprecedented move by Galant to bar B’Tselem has prompted further calls for an expansion of a law not to permit anti-Israel organizations from entering schools. (Read more)

4. Ben Gurion Airport to Shut Down Amid Fears of Covid-19 Mutations - Jewish Press

On Saturday night, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu demanded the immediate and complete lockdown of Ben Gurion International Airport in order to prevent new mutations from entering Israel. His cabinet debated the cessation of flights for tourist purposes to a minimum.

The cabinet is going to compel whoever wants to fly to any destination abroad to appear before an exceptions committee, even after the end of the lockdown and until further notice. In addition, the cabinet is expected to terminate the flights to Dubai, including for business, due to the infestation of the South African mutation in the UAE. Ben Gurion Airport is preparing for a partial lockdown in the next 48 hours.

The IDF Military Intelligence Directorate (Aman) warned on Saturday night that the speedy vaccination campaign for Corona—in order to keep up with the current outbreak in Israel—could lead to an Israeli mutation of the virus that would be resistant to the available vaccines. (Read more)

5. With funding from Chinese backer, 162 Ethiopian immigrants arrive in Israel - Times of Israel

Dozens of new immigrants from Ethiopia stepped into the brisk early morning winter air at Ben Gurion airport on Friday to start their new lives as Israeli citizens. Clutching Israeli flags, some passengers knelt to kiss the ground after they descended the stairs from the plane.

The Ethiopian Airlines plane carrying 162 passengers was the sixth flight in Operation Tzur Yisrael, which aims to bring 2,000 Ethiopians from the Falash Mura community waiting in camps to Israel in the coming months.

The planned ceremony to greet the immigrants was scrapped in light of Israel’s coronavirus restrictions. (Read more)

1. National Guard soldiers ordered home by governors amid outrage over being moved to parking garage - Fox News

Govs. Ron DeSantis, Chris Sununu, Grag Gianforte and Greg Abbott announced that they are bringing their National Guard troops back from Washington, D.C., after reports they were posted up in a parking garage near the Capitol to rest during their shifts, a move that caused outrage at the treatment of the servicemembers. The U.S. Capitol Police (USCP) ordered the troops to move their rest area during their 12-hour shifts from inside the Capitol to the Thurgood Marshall Judicial Center parking garage, the National Guard said Friday.

But Acting USCP Chief Yogananda Pittman pushed back on that assertion in a statement. "I want to assure everyone that, with the exception of specific times on Inauguration Day itself while the swearing-in ceremonies were underway, the United States Capitol police did not instruct the National Guard to vacate the Capitol Building facilities," Pittman said. "And on Inauguration Day, the Guard was notified and encouraged to reoccupy the spaces in the Capitol and CVC at 2 p.m." Pittman continued: "It was brought to our attention early today that facility management with the Thurgood Marshall Judicial Office Building reached out directly to the National Guard to offer use of its facilities."

The location for troops' rest breaks was changed back early Friday, with troops now authorized by the U.S. Capitol Police Watch Commander to take their breaks near Emancipation Hall. "We remain an agile and flexible force to provide for the safety and security of the Capitol and its surrounding areas," a National Guard Bureau spokesperson said. "Our troops are going to hotel rooms or other comfortable accommodations at the end of their shifts." (Read more)

- Father God, we pray that You will open the doors of provision for all the National Guard soldiers' needs. Grant their sacrifices of duty be provided for with comfortable accommodations. In Jesus' Name we pray.

- "I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress; my God; in Him will I trust." (Psalm 91:2)

 2. Roe's 'Deadly Legacy': 62,504,904 Abortions Since 1973, New Report Says - Christian Headlines

More than 62 million abortions have been performed in the United States since the infamous Roe v. Wade decision in 1973, according to a new report from National Right to Life that mourns the lives lost while celebrating the decline in the abortion rate in recent years. The “State of Abortion in the United States” report, released Jan. 21, estimates that 62,504,904 abortions have been performed in the U.S. since the Supreme Court legalized abortion on demand throughout the nation via a pair of rulings: Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton. They were handed down on Jan. 22, 1973.

The report reached the estimate using data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the pro-choice Guttmacher Institute.

Carol Tobias, president of National Right to Life, said pro-lifers have reason to be optimistic, despite the horrific number. That’s partially because the annual number of abortions has been steadily declining since 1990, when there were 1,608,600 abortions, according to Guttmacher. In 2013, the annual number of abortions fell below 1 million, to 958,700. In 2015, the annual number of abortions fell below 900,000 (to 899,500).

The pro-life community, Tobias said, is “moving our nation away from Roe and Doe’s deadly legacy. . . This drop in numbers can be traced to a number of factors, but among them are the efforts by National Right to Life and its network of state affiliates to enact protective laws that provide legal protection to unborn children and offer hope and help to their mothers,” Tobias wrote in the report. “These legislative efforts are at the very heart of our work, and they are one of the keys to ending abortion in the United States." (Read more)

- Father God, we pray for a widespread effort of prayer to go forth that will change the lifestyle of the younger generation regarding premarital sex.  Those who have allowed their babies to be murdered, as well as those who have performed these abortion -- all will stand and give an account before God for the lives of these unborn children.  We pray in the Name of Jesus, amen.

- "When my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up."   (Psalm 27:10)

3.  Biden's Policies on Abortion and Family 'Advance Moral Evils,' Catholic Bishops Head Says  - Christian Headlines

The head of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops this week said he is praying for President Biden and looks forward to working with the new administration but remains concerned that the new president supports policies that “advance moral evils.” José H. Gomez, archbishop of Los Angeles and the president of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), made the comments in a statement the day Biden was inaugurated. Biden is America’s first Catholic president in nearly 60 years. John F. Kennedy was the only other Catholic president.

“I am praying that God grant him wisdom and courage to lead this great nation and that God help him to meet the tests of these times, to heal the wounds caused by this pandemic, to ease our intense political and cultural divisions, and to bring people together with renewed dedication to America’s founding purposes, to be one nation under God committed to liberty and equality for all,” Gomez said. “... I look forward to working with President Biden and his administration, and the new Congress. As with every administration, there will be areas where we agree and work closely together and areas where we will have principled disagreement and strong opposition.”

Catholic bishops, Gomez said, “are not partisan players in our nation’s politics” but simply offer “principles” that “are rooted in the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the social teachings of his Church. I must point out that our new President has pledged to pursue certain policies that would advance moral evils and threaten human life and dignity, most seriously in the areas of abortion, contraception, marriage, and gender,” Gomez said. “Of deep concern is the liberty of the Church and the freedom of believers to live according to their consciences.” (Read more)

- Father God, we pray that You will put up righteous standards that will inhibit any evil belief or dangerous belief systems from taking root in our land. Disarm the enemy in all his attempts to kill, steal or destroy the people in America. Protect the good and stop the evil. We pray in Jesus' Name.

- "Shall not God search this out? for He knows the secrets of the heart." (Psalm 44:21)

4. Trump impeachment trial to begin week of Feb. 8, Senate leaders announce - USA Today

Former President Donald Trump's second impeachment trial will start the week of Feb. 8, according to a deal announced Friday by Senate leaders.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell agreed to the timing of the deal after the House impeached Trump Jan. 13 for inciting the deadly insurrection at the U.S. Capitol a week earlier.

Earlier in the day, Schumer and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., said the impeachment article would be sent to the Senate Monday, officially triggering the trial process.

Lawmakers had gone back and forth over the timing of the trial, with McConnell arguing the trial needed to be delayed until mid-February in order to give Trump time to prepare, and some Democrats saying a trial delay would give the Senate time to confirm President Joe Biden's Cabinet nominees.

McConnell spokesperson Doug Andres said the Kentucky Republican was "glad" Schumer agreed to their request to delay the trial. The additional weeks to prepare were "a win for due process and fairness," Andres said.

The article will be presented to the Senate on Monday, when the House impeachment managers, or the lawmakers assigned to present the case against Trump, will walk them over to the Senate. Senators will then be sworn in for a court of impeachment the following day. Trump and Democrats will have the next two weeks to file their initial arguments, with the trial beginning the week of Feb. 8. (Read more)

- Lord God, we pray that, when this impeachment trial begins in the United States Senate, it will give President Trump the opportunity to spread all the evidence and facts that last year's election was, indeed, riddled with fraud. Let the light of Your Glorious Presence fill that chamber, and let those senators, as well as the American people, see for themselves the TRUTH of this matter. Have Your way, O Lord, in this next phase of an impeachment of our President . . . have Your way. Amen.

"And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose." (Romans 8:28)

5. Impeachment witness connected Christopher Steele to dossier source - WND

Fiona Hill is best known for testifying against President Trump in the House impeachment investigation one year ago, but declassified documents set for imminent release will show she had the distinction of introducing former British spy Christopher Steele to the primary source of the infamous dossier of Russian propaganda that fueled the Russia-collusion probe, said John Solomon in his podcast.

According to Steele's debriefings, Hill, a Russia expert on the National Security Council, connected the former MI6 spy to the source, the Ukraine-born, Russian-educated researcher Igor Danchenko, said Solomon.

Hill co-wrote a Brookings Institute paper with Danchenko in 2010. She also worked with Steele while he was a British intelligence officer. She said she believed Steele was "played" by Russian disinformation in the production of his dossier.

"Isn't that amazing that someone that would testify against the president in the 2019/2020 impeachment proceedings had an earlier role getting Christopher Steele on his dirty dossier?" Solomon said. (Read more)

- Lord, this woman decided that the January 6th riot was a "coup" attempt by President Trump and her opinion was written up in leftist magazines. We bind her testimony and ask that Your Spirit convict her heart, removing all hatred and bitterness against her former Boss. We ask You to stand with Donald J Trump in every moment, bringing light into the darkness.

- "And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." (John 8:32)

6. AOC calls for more funding to 'deradicalize' Trump supporters - WND

After casting President Trump and his supporters as "white supremacists" and "conspiracy theorists" for the past four years, the most prominent member of the far-left "squad" in the U.S. House thinks it's time to pour more money into efforts to "deradicalize" and "deprogram" that population.

At a virtual town hall meeting Friday night in the wake of the the violent protest at the U.S. Capitol, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., said it's "a problem that doesn't go away on Jan. 20," when Joe Biden is inaugurated as the 46th president.

"There are people who are radicalized right now. It's going to take a very long time to deradicalize these people and a lot of effort," she said.

In November, a member of the Democratic National Committee, David Atkins, said on Twitter that "deprogramming" is needed for every one of the Americans who voted for Trump on Nov. 3.

"No seriously ... how *do* you deprogram 75 million people? Where do you start? Fox? Facebook?" he wrote on Twitter.

"We have to start thinking in terms of post-WWII Germany or Japan. Or the failures of Reconstruction in the South." (Read more)

- Almighty God, You are watching all of this mind-control system that goes back to World War II when the Germans used this method on the military. You are God and beside You is non other. We plead that life in America will not be like the Manchurian mind control. Save us, O God, protect us. In the Name of Jesus.

- "For our soul is bowed down to the dust: our belly cleaves unto the earth. Arise for our help, and redeem us for Your mercies' sake." (Psalm 44:25-26)

7. Four people charged in Portland after demonstrators vandalized federal ICE building, Democratic Party state headquarters - CNN

Demonstrators in Portland, Oregon, on Wednesday vandalized the state Democratic Party headquarters and a federal US Immigration and Customs Enforcement building, according to police. Four people have been charged Thursday in connection with those demonstrations. At least four demonstrations were planned in the city, Sgt. Kevin Allen, spokesman for the Portland Police Bureau, said in a video statement early Thursday. Two remained peaceful, but the others resulted in "property damage and arrests," he said. CNN is attempting to learn more about who organized the demonstrations.

Some demonstrators were carrying pepper ball guns, fireworks, shields, rocks and "electronic control weapons similar to Tasers."

In an updated statement, police said many in the crowd wore gas masks and helmets, and within a few minutes, people began tagging the ICE building with graffiti. Federal officials declared it an unlawful assembly after demonstrators started throwing rocks and vandalizing the building, Allen said.

Federal law enforcement officers deployed "crowd control munitions," Allen said, though he did not say what kind, deferring to federal officials. Portland police did not deploy CS gas (commonly referred to as tear gas), Allen added. (Read more)

- Lord God, this scene of destruction in the city of Portland, Oregon is a clear picture of the forces of darkness and evil confronting Your power for good. Father God, we ask the You grant Your wisdom to all law enforcement personnel in that city, so that they will be able to obliterate the destructive plans of the enemy, and cause peace to return to their city.

"Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the Name of the Lord our God."  (Psalm 7:20)

8. Russia welcomes proposed US extension of nuclear pact, but says it will 'depend on the details' - Washington Examiner

The Kremlin is welcoming news that President Biden will seek an extension for the New START nuclear treaty but is awaiting details about the proposal. White House press secretary Jen Psaki announced on Thursday that the United States intends to seek a five-year extension of New START, which is the last remaining bilateral treaty with Russia that limits the number of deployed strategic nuclear warheads and deployed strategic delivery systems.

“We can only welcome political will to extend the document,” said Kremlin spokesman Dimitry Peskov during a Friday conference call. “But all will depend on the details of the proposal.”

. . .“The president has long been clear that the New START treaty is in the national security interests of the United States,” Psaki told reporters during a Thursday briefing. “This extension makes even more sense when the relationship with Russia is adversarial as it is at this time. New START is the only remaining treaty constraining Russian nuclear forces, and it is an anchor of strategic stability between our two countries.” (Read more)

- Almighty God, in our distress we call upon You, and cry to our God, knowing that You hear our prayers. We ask wisdom for the current administration in all matters related to the extension of the New START treaty, Lord God. In these end-times, we ask that Your angels of mercy would stand watch over all of Russia's nuclear weapons, for the protection of our people. We pray in Your holy name, Abba Father, amen.

"God delivered us from our strong enemy, and from them that hated us.  For we have kept the ways of the Lord, and have not wickedly departed from our God."  (II Samuel 18,22)

10. Biden Rescinds Trump Order Banning Chinese Communist Involvement In US Power Grid - National Pulse
President Biden has revoked a Trump-era executive order that sought to keep foreign countries and companies out of America’s bulk power systems – principally entities associated with the Chinese Communist Party – as part of his “Executive Order on Protecting Public Health and the Environment and Restoring Science to Tackle the Climate Crisis.”

The executive order, which executes key tenets of President Biden’s climate change agenda, was released on the former Veep’s first day in office. Section 7 of the massive order, which includes the revocation of the permit for the Keystone XL Pipeline, also revokes several climate and energy-focused executive orders penned by the Trump administration. Subpoint C notes that “Executive Order 13920 of May 1, 2020 (Securing the United States Bulk-Power System), is hereby suspended for 90 days.”

The Trump-era order sought to ban, replace, and set new criteria on bulk-power system (BPS) electric equipment coming from a foreign country or national that poses a national security threat.

“Foreign adversaries are increasingly creating and exploiting vulnerabilities in the United States bulk-power system, which provides the electricity that supports our national defense, vital emergency services, critical infrastructure, economy, and way of life. The bulk-power system is a target of those seeking to commit malicious acts against the United States and its people, including malicious cyber activities, because a successful attack on our bulk-power system would present significant risks to our economy, human health and safety, and would render the United States less capable of acting in defense of itself and its allies,” the introduction to the executive order read.

Released on May 1st, 2020, the powers provided in the executive order were utilized by the DOE in early December concerning the Chinese Communist Party. As of January 16, 2021, then-Secretary of Energy Dan Brouillette issued a “prohibition order designed to reduce the risks that entities associated with the People’s Republic of China pose to the Nation’s BPS.” (Read more)
- Father God, we ask You to interevene in however You see fit to do, to protect our bulk-power system from the Chinese, and others who seek to do us harm. Thank You, Lord, that as we pray, You do answer. In Your name, amen.
- "No weapon formed against you shall prosper . . ." (Isaiah 54:17a)

11. Former Border Patrol Head: Biden Administration Made America Less Safe Within Hours - Epoch Times
Former U.S. Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Mark Morgan accused the Biden administration of making the United States less safe within hours of President Joe Biden being sworn in last week.

“With the stroke of a pen, President Biden made this country less safe,” Morgan told Breitbart News on Jan. 23. “It’s pure politics over public safety.”

“Look, I know what our team said to the transition team,” Morgan said. “I know the facts and data and analysis that was provided. I know what they told them and gave them that showed that the wall works.”

Sound the Shofar

Between the Porch and the Altar, 1/21/21

When I arose yesterday I had a spirit of grief well up and I began to intercede for the people whose faith has wavered and for those who do not know the Lord. I was drawn to my church and let myself into the sanctuary and the Lord met me there. I wept and I wept as I lay prostrate before the altar, His presence overwhelmed me. It was as though He was saying, “It’s ok, my plan is in motion and I will have the last Word.” God does not exist on our timetable.

Then I had the inexplicable thought that he wanted me to dance before Him like I used to…. and so I did. And as I danced before the Lord, with just Him there with me, I began to rejoice and I felt a great burden lift from my shoulders. I prayed for a while more and then went on to whatever I needed to do to complete my day.

Do you want to be counted among the seven thousand in Israel who do not bow their knee to baal? I do, but it requires something of us. Faith in God and obedience to His word. We may sin but if we do and repent with our whole heart, He is faithful to forgive.

Please join me in suggested prayer: (Go here)

Tropical Cyclone Eloise turns deadly after making landfall in Mozambique

Tropical Cyclone Eloise has made landfall just south of Beira, Mozambique, in the pre-dawn hours Saturday morning, local time. The storm will continue to press inland over the weekend, bringing heavy rain and gusty winds to Mozambique, Zimbabwe and northern South Africa.

On Friday, local time, Eloise strengthened into a severe tropical storm over the Mozambique Channel. On the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale, this is equivalent to a Category 1 hurricane.

Prior to its second landfall in southern Mozambique, Eloise strengthened even further, packing top-sustained winds of 150 km/h (93 mph), which is the equivalent of a Category 2 hurricane in the Atlantic Basin.

As of Saturday afternoon, local time, there are reports that at least four people are dead in Beira, located just north of where the center of Eloise made landfall.

The central Mozambique city, which was hit by Tropical Cyclone Chalane late in December, faced torrential downpours and damaging winds from Eloise through Saturday. Pictures that have emerged show streets turned into rivers by floodwaters and the power of the storms winds. (Accuweather.com) Read more.

Christian Astronaut Says Sunrise, Sunset From Outer Space Remind Him of Psalm 30

Astronaut Victor Glover recently reflected on the beauty of a sunrise and sunset from outer space, adding that they remind him of a Bible verse in Psalms.

Glover, one of four other astronauts that embarked on a six-month science mission last November, posted images on Instagram Thursday while onboard the International Space Station (ISS).

"Took these photos today, I love sunrises and sunsets," Glover wrote on Instagram. "Can you see the bands of color? They remind me of the scripture in Psalm 30, "weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning." It seems darkest just before sunrise. I wish you all love and light. Goodnight from the @iss."  (Read more)
