UNITED WE STAND

Please go here to listen to our recording of our National Call this past Monday.

Key topic: The Supreme Court decisions about the lawsuits that have been pending regarding Election Integrity in the Battleground States. The last half hour, we were blessed by a strong prophecy, given by Cindy Wiliams, Founder of Pray Michigan.

And today we join all of you in thanking God for the privilege of serving Him for 27 years on Capitol Hill. (My testimony has been delayed; I will share this amazing testimony on next Monday's call.)

". . . who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” (Esther 4:14)

Dozens of House Democrats Request Biden Hand Over Nuclear Codes

Roughly three dozen House Democrats have asked President Joe Biden to make an unprecedented move for the United States’ national security.

The letter from legislators obtained by Politico reportedly asked for the procedure surrounding access to nuclear codes and launching a nuclear attack on another country.

A suggested alternative to having only the president give permission to launch a nuclear attack is to have both the vice president and speaker of the House agree with a launch order from the president, Fox News reported.

“Vesting one person with this authority entails real risks,” the letter spearheaded by California Democratic Rep. Jimmy Panetta said.

“Past presidents have threatened to attack other countries with nuclear weapons or exhibited behavior that caused other officials to express concern about the president’s judgment.”

“While any president would presumably consult with advisors before ordering a nuclear attack, there is no requirement to do so. The military is obligated to carry out the order if they assess it is legal under the laws of war. Under the current posture of U.S. nuclear forces, that attack would happen in minutes,” the letter continued.

Panetta doubled down on his and other House Democrats’ suggestion in a tweet Tuesday, affirming there needs to be “checks and balances.” (The Western Journal) Read more

Focus on Israel

purim.jpg

1. Ahead of Purim, a Look at the History of the Jews of Persia (Now Iran) - United with Israel

Jews have had a continuous presence in Iran since the time of Cyrus the Great of the Achaemenid Empire. Today, of course, Jews who come from Iran are referred to as “Iranian Jews.” Iranian immigrants in Israel are referred to as Parsim, meaning “Persians.”

In Iran, Jews are referred to by four terms: Kalimi, Yahudi, Israel, and Johud, though the latter is considered offensive. There are about 10,000 Jews in Iran today.

The vast majority of Iranian-descended Jews live in Israel and the United States, especially in Beverly Hills, LA, and on the North Shore of Long Island. There are smaller Persian Jewish communities in Baltimore, Maryland and the Twin Cities. According to the latest Iranian census, the remaining Jewish population of Iran was 9,826 in 2016.

Jews began living in Persia in around 700 BCE, having arrived in the region as slaves after being captured by the Assyrian and Babylonian kings. The biblical books of Isaiah, Daniel, Ezra, Nehemiah, Chronicles, and Esther mention Jewish life in Persia and their relations with the kings and governments. In the book of Ezra, it is the Persian kings who are credited with permitting the Jews to return to Jerusalem and rebuild the Temple. Indeed, Cyrus the Great was called “God’s anointed” for having freed the Jews from Babylonian rule. It was also Cyrus who granted all the Jews citizenship. Although, as mentioned, he allowed the Jews to return to Israel (around 537 BCE), many chose to remain in Persia. (Read more)

2. Israeli, Saudi Officials Discussed Biden’s Iran Policy: Report - Algemeiner

i24 News – Israeli and Saudi officials recently discussed US President Joe Biden’s policy on Iran in phone calls, Kan 11 News reported on Tuesday.

According to the report, Riyadh is concerned with the course that the Biden administration could take on the Islamic Republic.

It is also wary of a possible cooling in the ties with the US after Biden pledged to hold the kingdom accountable for its human rights violations.

Biden also suspended US sales to a number of countries, including Saudi Arabia, for further review and said the US would no longer support the Saudi-led offensive operations in the campaign against Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi rebels

Israel and Saudi Arabia share a common threat in the Islamic Republic and are both worried about its nuclear program, which could receive a boost if the US were to rejoin the 2015 accord — something the Biden team intends to do.(Read more)

3. United Hatzalah Suspends All Unvaccinated EMTs - Jewish Press

In a move that some may see as controversial, United Hatzalah founder and president Eli Beer instructed the chapter heads across Israel – Jewish, Muslim, and Christian, secular and religious, to verify by March 7 that all the volunteers under their supervision have received the coronavirus vaccine or are recovering patients. Volunteers who decide not to receive the vaccine will be suspended from all duties, and after a grace period removed from the organization altogether.

“I don’t see this as controversial,” said Beer. “I see it as our duty in saving lives. As medical personnel and first responders, we are at risk, and we can endanger others if we aren’t vaccinated. We’ve had several volunteers in the past contract the virus because they responded to an emergency before the vaccines became available and despite the precautions they took. I don’t want any of our volunteers getting sick, or their families getting sick. God forbid, I don’t want any of our volunteers infecting a patient either,” Beer explained.

To date, nearly 90% of the 6,000 plus United Hatzalah volunteers have received at least the first dose of the vaccine. According to the new policy, those who have a legitimate medical reason not to receive the vaccine, such as pregnant women in their first trimester, will need to submit a request for a temporary exemption to the organization’s medical department, and will only be allowed to respond to some of the medical emergencies, where the risk of contracting the coronavirus is low. (Read more)

4. Coronavirus: Country to Fully Reopen by April, Netanyahu Says - Jerusalem Post

Israel’s goal is to completely reopen the country by April, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Wednesday.

As part of measures to speed up a hoped-for return to normality, a pilot project has been agreed to offer returnees from abroad who must enter quarantine the option to wear an electronic bracelet. The Knesset also approved legislation to allow the Health Ministry to provide information to local authorities, if they demand it, about individuals who have not been vaccinated.

At a press conference with the country’s top Health Ministry’s officials and the heads of the health funds and Magen David Adom, Netanyahu stressed that while some 5 million Israelis have either received at least their first shot or recovered from the virus, there are still about 1.2 million individuals aged over 16 who have not been vaccinated.

“Why do we have such a gap? There are many reasons, but mostly because of fake news,” the prime minister said, adding that the goal is to close that gap by the end of March. (Read more)

5. Protesters demonstrate against vaccine coercion, green passports in Tel Aviv - Jerusalem Post

Demonstrators gathered in Tel Aviv on Wednesday to protest against forced vaccination and the green passport program which allows vaccinated individuals and recovered COVID-19 patients to take part in certain activities, including attending mass gatherings.

Among the speakers at the rally, which drew a crowd in the hundreds, were lawyer Oren Pasternak, the main organizer of the event, and Tamir Hefatz, a founder of Higayon Habari (Common Sense Model). Arieh Avni, founder of the Rapeh (Only Health) Party was also present, as were some of the party's candidates.

Speakers and protestors alike called for more "government transparency," and to "stop tyranny." The protesters demanded that the government remove a 30-year embargo on the details of the Constitution Committee's meetings on coronavirus restrictions and cancel the green passport initiative, which they say leads to a two-tier system within Israeli society: a privileged "vaccinated class" and an lower class of those who can't get the vaccine, or don't want to. (Read more)

1. Dominion CEO warns of more lawsuits 'definitely' coming - Washington Examiner

The head of Dominion Voting Systems, one of the election companies at the center of a handful of election-related conspiracies, said the company is not done filing lawsuits against those whom Dominion says promoted unsubstantiated claims.

Dominion CEO John Poulos said the company's $1.3 billion lawsuits against former President Donald Trump’s personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani, Trump-aligned lawyer Sidney Powell, and Trump ally Mike Lindell are “definitely not the last lawsuits,” during an interview on Tuesday with CNBC's Eamon Javers.

"This is definitely not the last lawsuit, as I said many times before. We are taking a very measured, evidence-based approach as to what we file next. And we are not ruling anyone out," Poulos said, adding that Dominion isn't "ruling anybody out" when asked if Fox News could be a recipient of one of the future suits. (Read more)

2. Biden’s 100-day deportation moratorium indefinitely banned by judge - Fox News

The Biden administration’s efforts to impose a 100-day pause on deportations of illegal immigrants were dealt another blow on Tuesday when a district judge extended a ban on its imposition in response to a lawsuit from Texas.

U.S. District Judge Drew Tipton indefinitely banned enforcement of the Jan. 20 memorandum that would have implemented a 100-day moratorium on most deportations.

Tipton had previously issued a two-week restraining order on the policy after Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton had argued that it violated federal law and an agreement with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) that Texas be consulted before such a move. (Read more)

3. Blinken expresses intention to return to UN Human Rights Council - Fox News

The Biden administration on Wednesday said the U.S. will seek election to the U.N. Human Rights Council (UNHRC) nearly three years after former President Donald Trump withdrew from the body, according to a report.

"I'm pleased to announce the United States will seek election to the Human Rights Council for the 2022-24 term," Secretary of State Antony Blinken told the council, according to Reuters. "We humbly ask for the support of all U.N. member states in our bid to return to a seat in this body."

The decision will likely draw criticism from those in the pro-Israel community and conservative lawmakers. Trump pulled out of the UNHRC in 2018 after he accused the world body’s main human rights agency of showing a bias against Israel. (Read more)

- Father God this is not what your people voted for. We voted for righteousness and justice and to stand strong with your chosen land, Israel! We ask that you give us grace and mercy during this time and ask that you help the Biden administration make more godly decisions in Jesus name we pray amen.

“Israel has been saved by the Lord
With an everlasting salvation;
You will not be put to shame or humiliated
To all eternity.”

4. China to limit elected office candidates in Hong Kong to only those loyal to Communist Party - Just The News

The Chinese Communist Party is making efforts to change election laws in Hong Kong amid its larger response to the pro-democracy effort in the territory, saying that only “patriots” can run for and hold office.

Xia Baolong, China's new director of Hong Kong and Macau affairs, said Monday that election laws in Hong Kong must be changed so that only those who are loyal to Chinese communist ideology and the Chinese Communist Party can seek and win office.

"In our country where socialist democracy is practiced, political dissent is allowed, but the red line is here," Baolong said. "It must not be allowed to damage the fundamental system of the country – that is, damage the leadership of the Communist Party of China." (Read more)

- Lord God we pray for The people of Hong Kong that you would give them experiential knowledge of you. We pray that you would visit them and give them dreams and visions that they would make you their Lord and Savior. Send your comfort and your peace to that region in Jesus name amen.

5. Banks, financial services firms next to bow to woke left, ban conservatives, warns Rep. Ted Budd - Just The News

A new frontier in “cancel culture” is looming on the horizon: Banking and financial services firms could ban conservative customers and others from industries targeted by the left, warns North Carolina Republican Rep. Ted Budd, a member of the House Financial Services Committee.

The targets appear to include Republican members of Congress who voted to challenge the 2020 election results (just as some Democrats did in 2017, 2005 and 2001 without facing financial backlash). Additional possible targeted industries range from fossil fuels and firearms to for-profit colleges and payday lenders.

Affirm, a company extending installment loans for consumers to use at the point of sale to finance a purchase, confirmed to The New York Times last month that "it severed ties with MyPillow." MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell, a prominent supporter of former President Trump, has come under fire for his disputed claims about election integrity during the 2020 election. (Read more)

6. Amazon quietly ends sales of books it labels hate speech - Just The News

Sometime before this week, when it removed from its digital shelves a book critical of transgender ideology, Amazon altered its content policy to explicitly forbid books that promote "hate speech," a major rule change that could be used to rationalize action against a broader range of books sold by the digital retail giant.

Amazon this week yanked "When Harry Became Sally: Responding to the Transgender Movement" from its main web store, its Kindle servers and its audiobook lineup with no explanation, even as the book had been available on the site for three years with no apparent controversy.

In the 2018 book, author and political philosopher Ryan Anderson draws on years of scientific research and data to criticize the prevailing approach to transgender issues in modern medicine. The book "exposes the contrast between the media's sunny depiction of gender fluidity and the often sad reality of living with gender dysphoria," according to its sales blurb.

Anderson told Just the News that he had received no explanation for the ban. (Read more)

7. House hearing targets carriers hosting conservative cable networks - Just The News

House lawmakers are set to hold a hearing focused on what they deem misinformation regarding the Jan. 6 Capitol breach and the COVID-19 pandemic broadcast on conservative-leaning cable networks such as Fox News, One America News Network and Newsmax.

The hearing, set for Wednesday at 12:30 p.m, is being held by the Communications and Technology Subcommittee of the House Energy and Commerce Committee. Scheduled witnesses include left-leaning broadcast journalist Soledad O'Brien and George Washington University Law School Professor Jonathan Turley.

"Free speech scholars argue that for a democracy to function, informed debates and the marketplace of ideas must be able to work off of a shared set of facts," Democratic committee staff claimed in a memo released on Monday. (Read more)

8. Gov. Cuomo accused of sexual harassment by former aide - Fox News

A former aide to Gov. Andrew Cuomo is accusing the embattled New York leader of sexually harassing her -- including unwanted kissing and touching -- and says his top female staffers "normalized" the behavior.

Lindsey Boylan, the former deputy secretary for economic development and special adviser to the governor, said Cuomo constantly sought her out and had staffers arrange meetings with her, where he made inappropriate comments.

"Let’s play strip poker," Boylan said Cuomo remarked on a flight from an event in October 2017, according to an essay she wrote on Medium published Wednesday. A statement from Cuomo’s office on Wednesday denied the claims. (Read more)

9.  Biden, Pelosi, Schumer push $1.9T stimulus as debt, deficit balloon to eye-popping amounts - Fox Business

The U.S. national debt will swell to nearly $30 trillion if Democrats are able to ram through their COVID-19 relief package via budget reconciliation. The $1.9 trillion spending package will grow the U.S. budget deficit to $3.8 trillion in 2021 and put the government on a path to spend more money in one year than the previous 200+ years.

“Biden and company are set to borrow more money over the next 12 months than the U.S. government borrowed to finance the Revolutionary War, the Civil War, World War I, World War II, and the Cold War,” wrote Stephen Moore, former economic adviser to President Trump, in his Committee to Unleash Prosperity newsletter.

Democrats hold a slim 221 to 211 majority in the lower chamber and the vote is expected to pass along party lines. Congress has already authorized about $4 trillion in direct COVID relief. (Read more)

10. Supreme Court Denial Of Election Cases Helps 'Erode Voter Confidence’
- The Federalist

On Feb. 22, the Supreme Court refused to hear two 2020 election-related appeals, falling one vote short of the four needed for the high court to agree to hear the case. Justice Clarence Thomas dissented from the denial of certiorari, as did Justice Samuel Alito in a separate dissent, joined by Justice Neil Gorsuch.

With Joe Biden now a month into his office as president of the United States, Americans may shrug at the court’s decision, but we shouldn’t: The Supreme Court’s abdication of its authority to answer important constitutional questions only encourages further lawlessness by state election officials and courts, undermines voter confidence, and threatens even more chaotic federal elections. .(Read more)

- Father God, we are all still reeling from the impact of Monday's apparent abdication of the Supreme Court's responsibility to provide our citizens clear guidance for Election Integrity at the state level. We know now not what to do so our eyes are upon You. In Your Name we pray, amen and amen.

- "But as we know not what to do, we can only turn our eyes to thee." (2 Chronicles 20:12)

Stupidocrisy: Global warming and Texas

The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2021

Last week, Texas was in a state of emergency because of no energy. People were freezing in their homes. The homeless were suffering. Those in retirement and nursing homes were suffering. People were experiencing carbon monoxide poisoning trying to keep warm. A whole lot of suffering going on. The savior of the universe—green energy—had a major fail—it didn’t work. The windmills froze up. There wasn’t enough sun to power up the batteries. Texas energy hit the wall. Texas energy had a great fall. All the green horsepowers and all the green prophets couldn’t heat Texas back up again. So what did these green prophets do? They blamed it all on global warming/climate change. Stupidocrisy.

When all else fails, blame it on global warming. How many years have we seen the prophets of green, like Al Gore, give conferences predicting the world was going to end because of global warming? Then he would have to trudge through freezing temperatures and knee-high snow from the gangway of his private jet to the limo that delivered him to the conference. Just last week, I read a story where a “scientist,” who was paid to prove global warming, had predicted a decade ago that babies born in London then would never see snow by the time they reached ten years of age. Bill Gates wants to ban eating hamburger and steak because cattle contribute to carbon emissions that cause global warming. But he and Gore and others like them sure don’t lead by example as they fly around the world in their carbon-emitting jets.

Oh, yes, then there are the taxes. The way to stop global warming is to tax the bejeebies out of American citizens. We get to pay for China polluting the air. And, of course, the more tax money we pay to reduce carbon emissions, the longer we can live on this planet. Tax money changes the climate. Another way to stop global warming is to end the use of natural resources for energy. Putting people out of work ends global warming. No fuel, no cars, no global warming. No fuel, no heating, no global warming. Meanwhile, these prophets of doom, I guess, are happy that their green experiment in Texas is having a big fail. After all, Texans are bigots and haters and global warming deniers because they voted for Trump.

The “greeners” all have passionately preached a false doctrine that you and I will melt the polar icecaps and destroy the world if we don’t reduce our carbon footprint, while at the same time they live elaborate lifestyles with private jets and limos, is the height of hypocrisy. To think that anything related to climate, even their green energy that doesn’t work, is caused by global warming is stupid. Hence…say it with me…Stupidocrisy! I am all in favor of being a good steward of this earth. I also believe the promise the Lord gave Noah in Genesis 8:21-22, “Neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done; While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.” But, of course, they believe in science, not God, but that’s yet another Stupidocracy for later.

The Good News Corner

Docs wanted to unplug woman in Covid coma, but God had other plans

Just when doctors asked her family members if they could take her off life support and let the “lost cause” die, Lisa Martin woke up from a 40-day Covid coma. “God had other plans,” a Dec. 31 hospital statement says. “On the 11th day, Lisa broke out of the sedatives and began following Jeff with her eyes and she even moved her hand.”

Now Lisa, a 49-year-old mother of four, is being called a “miracle patient.” In all, she spent 59 days on a ventilator at Memorial Satillo Health in Georgia, including the induced Covid coma. She suffered a frontal lobe stroke during the health ordeal.

When Lisa didn’t come out of the coma (her eyes were fixed), hospital staff approached the family October 20th and asked them to make the hardest decision of their lives: take Lisa off life support.

They held a family conference. Her youngest son was the last to speak and said, “We are not pulling that plug. I’m not ready to be without my mama.”

“They decided to give it 11 days before making a decision. That would have been the end of one month on the vent. Earlier in September, Lisa had created a living will with a ‘do not resuscitate.’” (God Reports) Read more here.

Sound the Shofar, For Such a Time as This

February 24, 2021

Shalom Praying Friends,

We seem to be living in a modern day unfolding of the book of Esther. Truth is suppressed or rewarded with social death. It is only the brave who will survive. If we are to go forward as the Body of Christ and as a nation we must take the attitude to stand for righteousness and truth “If I perish, I will perish,” just as Esther. If not we will surely die and the Lord God will raise another to lift up the call and take action. We were created for “such a time as this.”

Purim 2021 will take place at sundown on Thursday, February 25 through the 26th. It is recognized as a Jewish holiday, a happy celebration marking the salvation of the Jewish people from an evil royal adviser named Haman. Purim celebrates the faithful leadership of Queen Esther and the actions of her cousin Mordecai. There is an entire book in the Old Testament that tells the story of Esther. It is the story of deliverance for an entire nation of God.

Haman, chief adviser to King Ahasuerus, chose the 13th of Adar as the day to have all Jews killed. He chose this day by the casting of lots, which is a random way of making a selection, similar to drawing straws or rolling a die. The Persian word for lots is “pur,” hence the name Purim. In the story of Queen Esther she has to make a moral choice to speak truth to save her people the Jews, putting herself in great peril or remain silent in the face of evil and witness the extinction of her Jewish people in Persia. She is admonished and advised by her cousin Mordecai who was a watchmen at the city gates.

Classic Hymns

Nearer my God to Thee

"He saw a stairway resting on the earth, with its top reaching to Heaven, and the angels of God were ascending and descending on it." (Genesis 28:11–12)

To listen to this classic hymn, CLICK HERE

Words: Sarah Adams
Music:  Lowell Mason

Lyrics:
Nearer, my God, to Thee,
Nearer to Thee!
E’en though it be a cross that raiseth me,
Still all my song shall be, nearer, my God, to Thee.

Refrain
Nearer, my God, to Thee,
Nearer to Thee!

Though like the wanderer,
The sun gone down,
Darkness be over me, my rest a stone.
Yet in my dreams I’d be nearer, my God to Thee.

Refrain

There let the way appear,
Steps unto Heav’n;
All that Thou sendest me, in mercy given;
Angels to beckon me nearer, my God, to Thee.

Refrain
Then, with my waking thoughts
Bright with Thy praise,
Out of my stony griefs Bethel I’ll raise;
So by my woes to be nearer, my God, to Thee.

Refrain
Or, if on joyful wing
Cleaving the sky,
Sun, moon, and stars forgot, upward I’ll fly,
Still all my song shall be, nearer, my God, to Thee.

Refrain
There in my Father’s home,
Safe and at rest,
There in my Savior’s love, perfectly blest;
Age after age to be, nearer my God to Thee.

Refrain

About Capitol Hill Prayer Partners

Our Mission Statement

Capitol Hill Prayer Partners (CHPP) is a ministry which is positioned on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., helping members of the Body of Christ to "pray for those in authority over us" in our federal government. Our primary purpose is to offer intercession on site for the members of Congress and their staffs each day that the Senate and the House of Representatives are in session; and our chief prayer focus is that "God's will be done in earth, as it is in heaven." [Matthew 6:10].

Because Jesus Christ has shed His blood for all, we, too, pray for ALL, in a nonpartisan manner. Also, because the scriptures indicate that "the effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much"  (James 4:17), we are confident that fervent prayer, offered in the halls of the highest chambers of government in our land, can avail much for America. Capitol Hill Prayer Partners welcomes those who feel called to join us, engaging in this strategic work of intercession for our nation: "For there is no power but of God; the powers that be are ordained of God."  [Romans 13:1]
