TODAY'S TOP STORY
Everything you need to know about gas shortages
From: Intercessors for America
According to The Gateway Pundit, “Colonial Pipeline Wednesday afternoon announced it restarted its operations at 5 PM ET.
“Following this restart, it will take several days for the product delivery supply chain to return to normal. Some markets served by Colonial Pipeline may experience, or continue to experience, intermittent service interruptions during the start-up period. Colonial will move as much gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel as is safely possible and will continue to do so until markets return to normal,” Colonial Pipeline said in a statement.
. . . Gas shortages and long lines at gas stations in Southeastern states are being reported after “hackers” shut down the Colonial Pipeline over the weekend. The largest US refinery shut two crude units in Port Arthur, Texas this weekend after hackers caused the Colonial Pipeline to shut down. . . . According to the FBI, the “DarkSide” hacker gang began attacking the pipeline operator on Friday and stole massive amounts of data.
“The FBI confirms that the Darkside ransomware is responsible for the compromise of the Colonial Pipeline networks. We continue to work with the company and our government partners on the investigation,” the “premier” law enforcement agency said in a statement on Monday. . . (Read much more here)
[THANK YOU, IFA!]
- Father God, today we speak peace, shalom, over our nation, and especially over the regions that are now being impacted by this temporary gas shortage. We look to
You, Holy One, the author and the finishe of our faith, trusting that You WILL -- even
by supernatural means, if needed -- supply all of our needs according to Your riches in glory in Chist Jesus (Phil. 4:19).
- So Jesus said to them again, “Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.” (John 20:21)
FOCUS ON ISRAEL
1. IDF hits Hamas center with dozens of operatives; barrages on Tel Aviv, Beersheba - Times of Israel
Hamas operatives fired large fusillades of rockets at the Tel Aviv area and Beersheba and toward Eilat’s airport on Thursday afternoon, in what the terror group said was an act of revenge for its commanders who were killed in Israeli strikes this week.
A few dozen rockets were fired in the attacks, which triggered sirens throughout central Israel and the northern Negev desert. A 60-year-old woman was lightly injured by shrapnel in the town of Kiryat Gat in southern Israel, along with a 7-year-old boy and 40-year-old woman who were injured while running to bomb shelters, medics said.
Following the rocket fire, the Israeli military said it struck a number of Hamas targets in Gaza, including an intelligence facility with dozens of terrorist operatives inside, as heavy rocket fire at Beersheba and other southern communities continued into the evening. (Read more)

2. BREAKING! US evacuates personnel from Israel as IDF eyes ground operation - Israel National News
The US has pulled out 120 personnel from Israel, as terrorist rocket attacks on the Jewish state continue, CNN reported Thursday.
According to the report, the personnel include both military service members and civilian workers. The personnel departed Israel via a C-17 transport aircraft, flying to the Ramstein air base in Germany.
An Israeli military spokesperson said that the IDF is amassing forces on the border with the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip, and that Israeli forces are “preparing themselves for ground operations,” The Independent reported. (Read more)
3. Israel Calls on UN Security Council to Condemn Gaza Terror, Support Israel’s Right to Self-Defense - Jewish Press
Israel’s Ambassador to the United States and United Nations Gilad Erdan sent an official letter to the UN Security Council and to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Thursday, calling on the UN to “unequivocally condemn the indiscriminate attacks by terrorist groups in the Gaza Strip against Israeli civilians and population centers and to support Israel’s fundamental right to self-defense.”
In his letter, Erdan wrote: “Hamas, an internationally designated terrorist Jihadist group supported by Iran, is responsible for these murderous attacks.
“The indiscriminate rocket fire constitutes a double war crime: targeting Israel’s civilian population and launching the rockets from within Gaza’s civilian neighborhoods and institutions. (Read more)
4. President warns of civil war as violence rages in Israeli cities - Israel Hayom
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday condemned the "anarchy" of Jewish-Arab violence in cities across the country after a day of tumultuous unrest, while President Reuven Rivlin warned of a civil war between the country's Arabs and Jews.
Violent confrontations erupted in Lod, Acre, Jerusalem, Haifa, Bat Yam, Tiberias and many other locations, with multiple people injured, some of them seriously, leading Netanyahu to announce he was considering deploying the IDF inside towns to restore order.
5. Bennett backs down from anti-Netanyahu gov't as Jewish-Arab riots grow -Jerusalem Post
Yamina leader Naftali Bennett surrendered to pressure from the Right to not form a government with Ra'am (United Arab List) head Mansour Abbas on Thursday, telling Yesh Atid leader Yair Lapid the idea was off the table.Lapid, who has a mandate to form a government until June 2, called a 9 p.m. press conference to respond.
Bennett cited the recent spate of violence between Arabs and Jews in mixed cities."I am removing the change governmentfrom the agenda," Bennett said. "A change government, with the makeup planned cannot deal with the problems in mixed cities. These are things that cannot be done when relying on Mansour Abbas." (Read more)
6. Israel shuts Ben Gurion Airport to incoming flights; US airlines start canceling - Times of Israel
In a bid to minimize the exposure of civilian air travel to rocket fire from the Gaza Strip, Israeli air officials said Thursday that incoming passenger flights would be diverted from Ben Gurion International Airport near Tel Aviv to Ramon Airport outside Eilat in the south. Under the new plan, passengers will disembark at Ramon, which opened in 2019. The empty planes will then fly to Ben Gurion to take on new passengers, and then depart from Ben Gurion to their destinations abroad.
The decision is meant to broaden the air corridor taken by passenger flights in and out of the country and to minimize the numbers of passenger-filled planes on the ground at any one place in order to lower the chances that rocket fire from Gaza will hit a plane.
Freight aircraft and private planes will still be allowed to land at Ben Gurion, an Israel Airports Authority spokesman said.
United Airlines, American Airlines and Delta Airlines all said they were canceling flights to Tel Aviv, The New York Times reported Wednesday. (Read more)
7. Israel in chaos: 10 Border Police units called up to quell Arab-Jewish violence - Jerusalem Post
Some 374 people were arrested throughout Israel following intense Jewish-Arab violence and riots that erupted across the country on Wednesday, amid the ongoing fighting between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
A Jewish citizen in his 30s was in critical condition after he was attacked by a mob of Arab demonstrators near Egged Square in the city of Acre. Police said he was attacked in his car by Arab Israeli protesters armed with sticks and stones. (Read more)
Report Offered by Asher Intrater (Excerpt) - Forwarded by Rick Ridings
. . . Violent mobs were roaming the streets. Israeli police couldn't get to all the locations in time. These violent mob actions are threatening the very fabric of co-existence between Jews and Arabs within Israel. Some moderates are calling for cessation of violence among civilians. Those causing the violence are still a very small minority, but the destructive influence is widespread.
Trust has been damaged, and there is a fear of losing control in the streets in the Israeli cities with mixed populations. There is some discussion of sending the Israeli army into the cities to help bring order to the streets. THIS VIOLENCE IS POTENTIALLY MORE DANGEROUS THAN ANY OF THE ROCKET ATTACKS.
Our prayer:
Father God, we speak SHALOM over every street in every village, town and city in the nation of Israel. Come, Lord Jesus, Yeshua, and dwell among those who live there, bringing Your supernatural gift of peace, SHALOM, and calming hearts and minds. In Your name, we pray amen.

9. Israeli troops enter Gaza Strip as Hamas rockets continue to light up the sky - Fox News
The Israeli military said Thursday that it had deployed air and ground troops within the Gaza Strip to battle the Hamas terrorist group, which has been launching rocket barrages since Monday.
Israel had been retaliating with air strikes, but the ground attack marks another major escalation in what authorities were already describing as the largest clash between Israelis and Palestinian militants since 2014.
And at least three additional rockets were launched by unknown persons out of Lebanon, the country to the north, according to the Israeli Defense Forces.
Israel has taken cedit for killing more than a dozen Hamas military figures and razed a pair of high-rise towers in airstrikes amid the country's fierce military offensive in the Gaza Strip. (Read more)

1. It Took Just a Couple of Days for Madness to Descend Upon America Once Gas Shortages Began – The Economic Collapse Blog
Did you react calmly when you learned that a cyberattack against one of our most important pipelines was causing thousands of gas stations to run out of gasoline? Sadly, lots of Americans didn’t. There was yelling, there was screaming, there was lots of hoarding, vehicles were waiting in line for hours at stations that still had gas, and there were reports that brawls were even breaking out between frustrated motorists. Even though we knew that the shortages were just going to be temporary, people were “panic buying” gasoline as if the apocalypse had arrived. In fact, one energy expert said that this was “the worst panic buying for gasoline since the Carter Administration”…
“This is the worst panic buying for gasoline since the Carter Administration,” said Tom Kloza, global head of energy analysis at the Oil Price Information Service. Kloza said outages at more than 10,000 gas stations are spreading “like a bad rash” on the East Coast. Much of the problem is people are buying gasoline at twice the normal rate in the Florida peninsula, as well as in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
For some individuals, just filling up their tanks with gasoline was not enough. Motorists began to fill up any containers that they had on hand with gasoline, and some of the things we witnessed were incredibly stupid. For example, you should never, ever try to fill up plastic bags with gasoline. (Read more)
- Lord, we pray for Your peace and sound-mind over this nation. Let us be a country that will not fall into the trap of the spirit of panic or fear. Allow these moments of uncertainty to remind us that You alone are our HOPE! May these circumstances open many eyes towards You; help us learn that You are all we need and will always offer us a better way- Amen
- “I will walk in freedom, for I have devoted myself to your commandments.” (Psalm 119:45)
2. Over 15,000 Gas Stations Out of Fuel Nationwide – The Epoch Times
Gas shortages eased slightly overnight in some states but worsened in others as Colonial Pipeline works to bring one of the nation’s major fuel conduits back online. More stations were out of gas in Florida, Maryland, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Mississippi early Thursday compared to Wednesday night, according to GasBuddy.
In Florida, 30 percent of 7,564 stations were out of fuel as of 6 a.m. Central Time. In Maryland, 34 percent of the state’s 1,869 stations could no longer serve customers. Over half of South Carolina’s 3,084 stations ran out of gas, along with 34 percent of Tennessee’s stations. Seven percent of Mississippi’s stations are out of gas, compared to six percent the night prior.
At the same time, shortages eased in several of the states most impacted by the current situations, including by 3 percent in North Carolina. About seven in 10 stations in the worst-hit state, which has 5,373 stations, remain out of gas, according to GasBuddy, an app that tracks prices and availability. (Read more)
- Once again, Holy One, we speak PEACE to our nation tonight. We ask for the peace that passes all comprehension in Christ Jesus to surround our hearts and our minds as we work our way through this impasse. Thank You, Lord, that You WILL make a way, where there seemeth to be no way, according to Your Word in Luke 18:27. Amen.
- "But He said, “The things that are impossible with people are possible with God.” (Luke 18:27)
3. Colonial Pipeline Restarted Operations, Owners Say it will take Several Days for Supply Chain to Return to Normal – USA Today
Colonial Pipeline said Wednesday "it initiated the restart" of operations after having to shut off the conduit following a cyberattack last week. The pipeline was set to resume operations around 5 p.m. ET, but the company said "it will take several days for the product delivery supply chain to return to normal." Colonial Pipeline Co. had to shut it down Saturday following a ransomware attack.
The shut-off of the pipeline, the primary fuel conduit serving the East Coast, spurred gasoline shortages in the southeastern and mid-Atlantic states. Gas prices jumped just above $3 a gallon Wednesday, and many gas stations in the Southeast were out of fuel as panicking motorists rushed to fill up in the wake of the cyberattack on a crucial regional pipeline. The national average price for gas is up 8 cents from the week ago to $3.01, according to the latest figures from AAA. That marks the first time national prices have topped $3 since 2014.
Following the shutdown, motorists have flocked to stations to top off their tanks, fearing shortages, even though pipeline officials have said they expect to "substantially" restore service by the end of the week, likely limiting most of the fallout. (Read more)
- Precious Lord, we pray that You will oversee and facilitate the restart of this crucial pipeline so that gasoline is supplied for all the critical needs as well as the everyday needs of people in the affected areas. We bind up a spirit of fear associated with this shortage and pray that this will emphasized to Americans, especially those in governmental positions, the importance of fossil fuel at this time in history. Lord, we pray that Americans will begin to look to You for all their needs, including oil and gas.
- "And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:19)
4. Top Scientists Question the Need for COVID 19 Booster Shots – The Epoch Times
COVID-19 vaccine developers are making ever bolder assertions that the world will need yearly booster shots, or new vaccines to tackle concerning coronavirus variants, but some scientists question when, or whether, such shots will be needed.
In interviews with Reuters, more than a dozen influential infectious disease and vaccine development experts said there is growing evidence that a first round of global vaccinations may offer enduring protection against the coronavirus and its most worrisome variants discovered to date.
Some of these scientists expressed concern that public expectations around COVID-19 boosters are being set by pharmaceutical executives rather than health specialists, although many agreed that preparing for such a need as a precaution was prudent. They fear a push by wealthy nations for repeat vaccination as early as this year will deepen the divide with poorer countries that are struggling to buy vaccines and may take years to inoculate their citizens even once.
“We don’t see the data yet that would inform a decision about whether or not booster doses are needed,” said Kate O’Brien, director of the Department of Immunization, Vaccines and Biologicals at the World Health Organization (WHO). [Read more]
- Oh Lord, we strongly come against this push, fueled by fear and other wicked spirits, to continue the need to constantly be vaccinated against a virus that may possibly mutate in unknown ways. We cry out to You alone, to eradicate this virus from the earth and put an end to the weaponizing of it for monetary gain. We pray that no longer shall people be put in fear as they were last year.
- "For I, the Lord your God, will hold your right hand, saying to you, 'Fear not, I will help you.'" (Isaiah 41:13)
5. Over 40 Countries Set to Protest COVID Restrictions on May 15 in Second Global Event – Lifesite News
On Saturday, May 15, people in more than 40 countries will participate in the second World-Wide Demonstration protesting the unprecedented COVID-19 restrictions that have severely curtailed basic human rights, calling for an end to “ubiquitous public incarceration.”
Since the spring of 2020, severe measures have been in place in most countries as part of an advertised bid to prevent the spread of COVID-19 infections. More than a year after the onset of these restrictions – which were typically introduced as “temporary” – the number of people opposing them has grown substantially.
The May 15 event is organized by World-Wide Demonstration, which started as an action group in Germany in the spring of 2020. On the one-year anniversary of the start of the restrictions, the group staged the first global protest on March 20. Cities across the world saw protestors march against lockdowns, mask mandates, and mandatory vaccines. (Read more)
- Father, we lift up our praise to You for answered prayer in bold voices standing against unending Covid restrictions. We ask that You would multiply voices globally to challenge all governments with intentions to squelch freedom, while blaming it on Covid. Cause Your strength and power to move through the ‘International Freedom Movement” bringing down all plans of oppression. We say “No weapon formed against us shall prosper!”-Amen
- “And may the Lord our God show us his approval and make our efforts successful. Yes, make out efforts successful!” (Psalm 90:17)
6. Republicans Reject Tax Increases After Meeting with Biden on Infrastructure – The Epoch Times
Top Republicans on Wednesday told President Joe Biden in the Oval Office that they will not support tax increases in a major infrastructure package. Biden, a Democrat, has proposed reversing key portions of the 2017 tax bill the GOP passed, and that then-President Donald Trump signed.
“We’re not interested in reopening the 2017 tax bill. We both made that clear to the president. That’s our red line,” Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) told reporters in Washington after the confab.
The economy was so strong in early 2020, before being derailed by the COVID-19 pandemic, because of the tax cuts in the bill, McConnell asserted.
“Raising taxes would be the biggest mistake you could make,” added House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.), citing the rise in gas, food, housing, and lumber prices and surging inflation. “That, to us, is a nonstarter.” (Read more)
- Father God, we thank You that the Republicans are holding the line against any more unnecessary tax increases. Praise God.
- "Let everything that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord!" (Psalm 150:6)
7. McDonalds and Amazon Hikes Wages to Lure Workers Back to Labor Market – ZeroHedge
After Jeff Bezos vowed to remake Amazon into a more worker-friendly tech behemoth in his final letter to shareholders before stepping down as CEO, it looks the company has announced yet another wage hike: Amazon will start new employees off at $17/hour with signing bonuses of up to $1,000 as the company seeks to hire some 75K people.
AMAZON:AVG STARTING PAY OVER $17/HR, SIGN-ON BONUS UP TO $1,000
AMAZON HIRING 75,000 PEOPLE IN FULFILLMENT & LOGISTICS NETWORK
AMAZON HIRING 75,000 EMPLOYEES ACROSS FULFILLMENT AND TRANSPORTATION, WITH AVERAGE STARTING PAY OF OVER $17 PER HOUR AND SIGN-ON BONUSES OF UP TO $1,000
Ultimately, the company plans to hire 75K new workers to staff its warehouses (what it described in its press release as its "fulfillment and logistics network across the US and Canada") and drive its delivery vans. The wage hikes will be offered to drivers and warehouse workers alike.
Notably, the company is also offering an additional $100 incentive bonus "to new hires who come to Amazon already vaccinated for COVID-19".
How are small businesses supposed to compete in the labor market against that? (Read more)
- Father, we pray for all the companies who are having trouble hiring! We seek wisdom on how to attract workers, and how to balance unemployment benefits so workers are not tempted to stay on unemployment versus finding a job. Give creativity to the small businesses who can't compete with the incentives being handed out by the big companies.
- "Do you see a man skillful in his work? He will stand before kings; he will not stand before obscure men." (Proverbs 22:29)
8.Biden’s Middle East Failure: America’s Enemies Sense Weakness and They are Capitalizing – Washington Free Beacon
Three recent events, two of them from the past week, haven’t gotten the news coverage they deserve as the Biden administration desperately pursues a rapprochement with Iran.
The first is the U.S. Navy’s seizure over the weekend of a significant weapons shipment. It contained "dozens of advanced Russian-made anti-tank guided missiles, thousands of Chinese Type 56 assault rifles, and hundreds of PKM machine guns, sniper rifles and rocket-propelled grenades launchers … [and] advanced optical sights," the Fifth Fleet said in a statement.
The cache was destined for Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen, whom the Biden administration recently delisted as a terrorist organization. No serious person believes the arms didn’t originate in Iran, though for obviously political reasons the United States Navy prefers not to state the obvious.
In neighboring Iraq, a prominent Iraqi political activist and critic of Iranian influence in his country, particularly the arming and funding of pro-Tehran militias, was gunned down—the latest in a series of Iran critics to turn up dead. The early reporting suggests an Iranian militia is to blame.
Finally, there is the escalating security situation in the Persian Gulf. After several years of tranquility along one of the world’s most important shipping lanes, Iran has returned to harassing American ships. In early April, one IRGC Navy boat harassed U.S. Navy and Coast Guard boats; weeks later, three IRGC boats got so close that the United States fired warning shots for the first time in years. Thirteen IRGC armed speedboats harassed U.S. ships on Monday again forcing them to fire warning shots. (Read more)
- Father, we speak protection for America, and presently our ships who are being harassed. Give us strong leadership in Washington who will not allow these actions from Iran.
- "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." (Isaiah 41:10)
9. US State Department Highlights Communist China’s “Dire” Religious Freedom Situation – The Epoch Times
The United States decried the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)’s extensive abuses against people of faith from Uyghur Muslims to Christians to Falun Gong practitioners, as the State Department released its annual update on religious freedom around the world on May 12.
Daniel Nadel, a senior official in the State Department’s Office of International Freedom, said the Chinese regime had turned the far-western region of Xinjiang into an “open-air prison,” in its campaign of oppression against ethnic Muslim minorities that the United States has designated a genocide.
Aside from the detention of more than 1 million Uyghurs and other Muslim minorities in internment camps, Nadel noted the regime’s intrusive surveillance targeting the rest of the population in Xinjiang.
“People’s movements are closely tracked. You have minders who have been assigned to live with Uyghurs to keep tabs on them. You have people going to the market who have to check in every time they go to a different market stall,” he said at a press briefing. (Read more)
- Lord, we thank you that this extreme demonic darkness has been exposed. We pray for an unrelenting outcry from our administration and all international governments to put an end to these evil atrocities! Lord, we declare that your justice and victory will shine forth shattering all crimes against humanity. Bless those speaking loudly against this evil regime; Make CCP accountable Lord, and save those who are suffering in oppression. In the name of Jesus-Amen.
- “For the Lord of Heavens Armies has a day of reckoning. He will punish the proud and mighty and bring down everything that is exalted.” (Isaiah 2:12)
10. Millions More Americans Turned to Scripture During Pandemic, Study Shows – ChristiansPost.com
Over an estimated 10 million more Americans turned to the Bible in the past year than in years past, as one in four adults reported reading the Bible more frequently during the pandemic compared to last year, the American Bible Society’s 2021 State of the Bible report suggests.
ABS released the first two chapters of its 11th annual State of the Bible report on Tuesday, documenting cultural trends in the realm of spirituality and Scripture engagement in the United States. The data suggests that over 181 million Americans opened a Bible in the past year compared to 169 million adults who used a Bible at least occasionally in the year before.
The findings for the report are based on a survey conducted in January 2021 through 3,354 online interviews from a representative sample of American adults nationwide, as well as 91 additional responses from Gen Z youth. The sampling error is plus or minus 1.692 percentage points.
The study found that roughly 16% of American adults read the Bible most days during the week, up from 12% in its 2020 report. Thirty-four percent said they read the Bible once a week or more, while 50% said they read the Bible less than twice per year. (Read More)
- Father, thank You for this good report of people reading their Bible during the pandemic. We pray that we would continually seek You even when circumstances are going good.
- "For in him we live and move and have our being.' As some of your own poets have said, 'We are his offspring.' (Acts 17:28)
The Daily Jot
Of Insurrections And Coups
The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, May 13, 2021
There Is A Distinct Coup Against God Here In The US. The First Commandment In Exodus 20:3 Says “Thou Shalt Have No Other Gods Before Me.” America Was Not Designed To Survive With Government As God And A Political Party Acting Like God. It Is Time For All Of Us To Take A Stand For God And Country. Just Saying.
Democrats in Congress are considering erecting a statue, complete with their narrative, honoring the Capitol Hill police officer that died during the “violent insurrection” of January 6. The officer, however, tragically died of natural causes, not because of the “violent rebellion.” To hear the extreme leftist media and Democratic Party leadership tell it, there was a violent attempt to overthrow the United States government when unarmed protesters got out of hand, broke into the Capitol and were taking selfies with the statues in the rotunda. Yeah, a real violent insurrection that was. While it was ill-advised and in poor judgment, it is nothing like the coup that is being done before your very eyes. Read More
The election fraud, S.1, bill is not finished
Update from Mat Staver, Liberty Counsel Action
On Tuesday, we won a skirmish, but the battle is far from over. The Senate Rules and Administration Committee deadlocked 9-9. This temporarily prevents HR 1 (S 1) from going to the full Senate for a vote. But Sen. Schumer (D-NY) will try to bring the bill to the floor anyway.
Democrats need only one more senator to reach 50. If one more senator supports this dangerous bill, the vice president will break the tie, and the bill could slip through under the budget reconciliation. This battle is NOT over.
Democrats are dangling millions of dollars for reelection campaigns in front of Democrat and Republican senators. This bill will give each senator up to 1.8 billion dollars for their reelection budget.
Before I address HR 1 (S 1), there is an important election fraud lawsuit in Antrim County, Michigan. Below is a summary of what was presented this week:
First, 1,061 phantom ballots don't exist on the voter rolls.
Second, there was nearly 100% turnout of ages 65 to 80, which is impossible.
Finally, more than 1-in-5 of all mail-in ballots were sent from the registrar to Post Office boxes (20.3% total). In Chestonia Township, that number jumped to more than 1-in-3. This is highly suspicious.
In the Central Lake Township, two volunteers found about 138 ballots with "the very same signature," which the Democrat Secretary of State knew about but did nothing.
There was no process within the audit to flag these votes!
Real progress is being made through comprehensive election reform laws in Florida, Georgia, Texas and in many other states. As in Michigan, litigation and audits are ongoing in several states.

Surprise meteor shower! 'Finlay-id' 'shooting stars' will appear for the first time (later) in 2021
A never-before-seen meteor shower will sprinkle tiny pieces of comet dust above Earth's southernmost regions for a brief time later this year.
The "Finlay-id" meteor shower, which will last for about 10 days this fall, will appear over southern latitudes with little landmass. "That makes it not only an interesting meteor shower but also a very difficult meteor shower to observe," Diego Janches, a research astrophysicist at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland, told Space.com in an interview.
As Earth makes its way around the sun, the planet occasionally travels through clouds of debris left behind by comets and asteroids. The particles interact with Earth's atmosphere and produce "shooting stars," and typically, these clouds stay more or less in the same place, allowing Earth to pass through each unique debris cloud once a year. This is why major meteor showers, like the Perseids and the Geminids, are annual occurrences.
. . . Janches thinks the shower will emanate from the constellation Ara (the Altar), but its exact radiant — the point from which the meteors appear to originate — is unclear because it's a brand-new event. Predictions indicate that the Finlay-ids may begin around the end of September and peak on Oct. 7, according to Janches. (Read more)

Prison Ministry Restoring At-Risk Women ‘Back to Life’
With hands held high, a group of more than 300 women sing praise songs as they worship together. There are plenty of tears, hugs and smiles during this time away from their daily routine. But it isn’t your typical women’s retreat or gathering at a local church — it’s being held inside the walls of a prison. Courage For Life, a Georgia-based ministry that focuses on equipping people to apply God’s word to their lives, works with chaplains and other ministry partners to serve in prisons in Georgia, Missouri and Florida.
Under the leadership of the ministry’s founder and executive director, Ann White, Courage For Life is helping at-risk women access audio Bibles and attend classes focused on teaching how a deeper understanding of Scripture can transform their lives.
Nearly a quarter-of-a-million women and girls are incarcerated in the United States, according to The Sentencing Project, a nonprofit that advocates for fairness in the criminal justice system. “This is a mission field,” said White, a nationally known speaker and contributor to Focus on the Family, during one of the ministry’s visits to the Chillicothe Correctional Center in Missouri. These women are (spiritually) hungry,” she said. “[They] are desperate for the love of Christ. They’re desperate to know that somebody cares. They’re desperate for hope … hope changes everything.”

National Prayer Assembly
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ who pray for our world,
Thanks so much for your prayer support for the World Prayer Together event (it can still be viewed at worldprayertogether.com) and the DC prayer leaders’ gathering on May 1. Both went well, thanks to the Lord and to those who coordinated and participated. We as intercessors sometimes need to remind ourselves of the awesome prerogative we have been given, connected through the Spirit and even now sitting with Christ in heavenly places, to affect things on earth through our prayers. From wherever we are, we can effectively engage through prayers of love, faith and authority, even for those far-off nations of our world undergoing great trials and conflicts.
Let us please pray now for the following situations that urgently require the intervention of the Healer of the Nations:
1. Afghanistan- in the last couple of months in the nation's capital of Kabul, there have been more than 60 attacks by the Taliban Islamic radicals, including one that killed 80 schoolgirls. In addition, eleven civilians have just been killed on the first day of what was agreed to be a three-day ceasefire. Let’s agree in prayer for the binding of the spiritual forces of death and destruction behind the Islamic fanaticism that has driven decades of fighting between the Afghan government and insurgent Taliban and ISIS rebels. Pray also that the U.S. and its allies may reconsider a full pullout scheduled for September 11th, realizing that such a move could result in the complete fall of the current government and takeover of the country by the Taliban as happened before the 9/11 attacks on America were launched from there. All the progress in national development, especially improving the lives of women and children, along with all the lives and resources that have been poured into the country the past 20 years would be lost.
2. India - Many of my friends there are reporting hundreds of thousands becoming positive with Covid-19 each day as an enormous wave of this illness rocks the nation and its healthcare system. Let’s pray for the authorities in the government and medical personnel to be given wisdom to know how best to deal with this overwhelming situation. Pray for the supplies of oxygen, medicines and other equipment to be multiplied greatly to combat this disease and that this current nationwide scourge will dissipate quickly. Reports from nearby countries like Bangladesh, Nepal also indicate similar outbreaks, some coming from India.
3. Israel and the Palestinians are at the brink of war as hundreds of rockets from Palestinian militants in the Gaza Strip have been raining down on civilian areas in Israel. Israel is bombing in retaliation and lives are being lost on both sides. The Israeli army is now massing on the border with Gaza, and the level of destruction in these hostilities could greatly increase. Let’s pray to the Prince of Peace for the end of this tragic and pointless conflict with restraint and coolness of heads for the authorities on both sides.
4. North Korea's people continue their immeasurable suffering under the brutal tyrannical reign of Kim Jong Un. Some try to escape, crossing the border into China and if apprehended they are held in a refugee camp there. If and when they are sent back, they will face awful punishments, including tortures and death, in the labor camps run by the North Korean regime. 200 are in that camp now awaiting this possible fate. May they not be sent back! An estimated 70,000 Christians are languishing in the prison camps inside North Korea along with hundreds of thousands of others also thought to be enemies of the regime. “They are severely beaten, raped, forced to have abortions, and often times executed.” Let us keep these dear brothers and sisters in Christ along with all who are suffering in North Korea in our prayers for their protection and liberation. Let us also continue to pray for regime change through reformation or overthrow. NK Relief http://pray4nk.org/main.php?m1=2

Scripture: They need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light. Revelation 22:5
Lyrics:
I wandered in the shades of night,
Till Jesus came to me,
And with the sunlight of His love
Bid all my darkness flee.
Refrain: Sunlight, sunlight in my soul today, Sunlight, sunlight all along the way;
Since the Savior found me, took away my sin,
I have had the sunlight of His love within.
Tho’ clouds may gather in the sky,
And billows round me roll,
However dark the world may be
I’ve sunlight in my soul.
Refrain
While walking in the light of God,
I sweet communion find;
However dark the world may be,
I’ve sunlight in my soul.
Refrain
I cross the wide extended fields,
I journey o’er the plain,
And in the sunlight of His love
I reap the golden grain.
Refrain
Soon I shall see Him as He is,
The Light that came to me;
Behold the brightness of His face,
Throughout eternity.
Refrain
Nightly Prayer to HOLD THE LINE... And Today's Prophetic Words
We invite you to join a NIGHTLY prayer call with Rick Warzywak, Prayer leader for Transform Michigan. The call is focused on prayer over the Presidential election results and is EVERY NIGHT from 9-10pm EST.
Capitol Hill Prayer Partners (CHPP) is a ministry which is positioned on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., helping members of the Body of Christ to "pray for those in authority over us" in our federal government. Our primary purpose is to offer intercession on site for the members of Congress and their staffs each day that the Senate and the House of Representatives are in session; and our chief prayer focus is that "God's will be done in earth, as it is in heaven." [Matthew 6:10].
Because Jesus Christ has shed His blood for all, we, too, pray for ALL, in a nonpartisan manner. Also, because the scriptures indicate that "the effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" (James 4:17), we are confident that fervent prayer, offered in the halls of the highest chambers of government in our land, can avail much for America. Capitol Hill Prayer Partners welcomes those who feel called to join us, engaging in this strategic work of intercession for our nation: "For there is no power but of God; the powers that be are ordained of God." [Romans 13:1]
Capitol Hill Prayer Partners welcomes all who wish to pray for our leaders to join us in prayer for our nation. You may sign up to receive our alerts by sending an email to us at CHPP1994@gmail.com requesting that your name be added to our list of subscribers.
