On Day 4 of Hostage Release, Families Await Word as Israel Mulls Ceasefire Extension
|
|
"I think every day that goes on with the ceasefire, it's going to be harder for them to restart the war machine, and that is exactly what Hamas intends. They understand that the longer this ceasefire goes on, the more pressure will build on Israel to continue that ceasefire indefinitely, and if they continue it indefinitely, Hamas does not get wiped out, and Hamas survives. That's their strategy here, I believe." -CBN News Correspondent Chuck Holton

(Jerusalem, Israel) — [CBN News] Monday marks the fourth day of the ceasefire between Hamas and Israel, and the ongoing release of hostages kidnapped by Hamas on October 7th. Israeli sources now report the ceasefire may be extended much longer to release more hostages.
Despite the delay, Benjamin Netanyahu visited IDF troops in Gaza and pledged total victory.
"We are here in the (Gaza) Strip with our heroic fighters," Netanyahu said. "We are making every effort to return our hostages, and at the end of the day, we will return everyone. We have three goals in this war: eliminate Hamas, return all of our hostages, and ensure that Gaza does not return to be a threat to the State of Israel again." (CBN) Read more

- Father God, we offer You praise for the release of each and every hostage that has now been rescued, and for the remainder yet to see the light of day. We thank You, too, for this clear-cut delineation of Israel's three goals in this war, as spoken by Israeli P.M. Bibi Netanyahu:
" . . . eliminate Hamas, return all of our hostages, and ensure that Gaza does not return to be a threat to the State of Israel again."
We pray that each goal will be thoroughly accomplished in the days ahead, in Your mighty Name, Holy One, amen and amen!

Joe Biden Snubs ‘Almighty God’ in Thanksgiving Proclamation
|
|
President Joe Biden omitted any reference to Almighty God or Divine Providence Thursday in his annual proclamation of the quintessentially American feast of Thanksgiving.
In his own 1863 presidential proclamation instituting Thanksgiving as a national holiday, Abraham Lincoln urged his fellow Americans to set apart and observe the last Thursday of November “as a day of Thanksgiving and Praise to our beneficent Father who dwelleth in the Heavens.”
Even in the midst of the civil war, Lincoln recalled the many blessings and bounties bestowed on the nation, attributing them all to the Almighty.
“No human counsel hath devised nor hath any mortal hand worked out these great things,” Lincoln declared. “They are the gracious gifts of the Most High God, who, while dealing with us in anger for our sins, hath nevertheless remembered mercy.”
In this way, he enjoined his fellow citizens to offer up “the ascriptions justly due to Him for such singular deliverances and blessings.”
And in case anyone forgets to thank Almighty God for these gifts, Lincoln also issued a warning, noting that these bounties “are so constantly enjoyed that we are prone to forget the source from which they come.”
Fast forward 160 years, and it would seem that the “devoutly Catholic” President Joe Biden has done just that, insisting in his own 2023 proclamation of Thanksgiving that Lincoln had established this national holiday “to honor the blessings of our country,” rather than to praise and thank God.
While remembering firefighters, police officers, first responders, doctors, nurses, scientists, public servants, union workers, teachers, mothers, fathers, and caregivers, Biden conspicuously fails to acknowledge the Source from whom all blessings flow. (Breitbart)

- Father, we know that Biden is cognitively impaired, but failing to recognize Your Hand in all that we enjoy is terrible. You never forget us, so it is unthinkable that our “leader” would fail to recognize You. We ask that You visit Mr. Biden in the night seasons, and bring him face up with Your power, truth, and love.
- “Who among you fears the Lord and obeys the voice of his servant? Let him who walks in darkness and has no light trust in the name of the Lord and rely on his God.” (Isaiah 50:10)

Biden Admin Removed Org Attacking Israelis From Terror Group List. Now, They’re Reconsidering
|
|
An Iranian-backed rebel group whose designation as a terrorist organization was revoked by the Biden administration is intensifying attacks against Israel and forcing the U.S. military to intervene.
The Houthis, a Yemeni rebel group backed by the Iranians, has launched multiple attacks against Israel in a show of support for Hamas, which killed over 1,200 Israelis and kidnapped hundreds of others on Oct. 7. The Biden administration removed the Houthis (sometimes referred to as Ansarallah) from the Designated Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) list in 2021, at which point the group began ramping up its attacks both inside and outside Yemen, according to several observers.
Following the recent and increasing barrage of attacks from the rebel group against Israel, the Biden administration is musing whether the Houthis should be back on the FTO list, Reuters reported Tuesday.
The Houthis most recently attempted to attack Israel on Monday by hijacking what the rebel group thought was an Israeli-operated ship in the Red Sea. The Houthis infiltrated the ship via helicopter and took over a dozen crew members hostage before taking control of the vessel and sailing it back to a Yemeni port. (Daily Caller) Read more here.
- Lord, we pray that wisdom will come to this administration so that their actions will bring strength to America and life to our citizens. We ask that they will return the Houthi rebels to the Foreign Terror Organization list.
- “Listen to advice and accept instruction, that you may gain wisdom in the future.” (Proverbs 19:20)

2. Hamas: We are willing to negotiate release of captive Israeli soldiers - Jerusalem Post
Hamas that it is willing to negotiate over the release of captive soldiers, the terrorist organization said on Monday.
The subject has not yet been included in ceasefire discussions, however, and different conditions would be attached to the release of soldiers than those that are attached to the release of civilians.
This would be a major step by the terrorist organization that perpetrated the October 7 massacre, as the international pressure is far more focused on the release of civilians than it is of IDF soldiers.
In addition, in terms of international law, soldiers held by Hamas are seen as prisoners of war, while civilians are hostages. The values in terms of exchange, then, are considered far different. (Read more)

The government approved a list this evening of 50 female Palestinian prisoners who are marked for potential early release as part of an agreement to extend a temporary truce with Hamas in Gaza and secure the release of nearly 20 more Israelis held hostage by the Palestinian terror group since October 7.
The Prime Minister’s Office said in a brief statement close to midnight that the government okayed the list

5. Gazan who escaped to Israel, converted to Judaism shares his story - Jerusalem Post
"In Gaza, there are no citizens who oppose Hamas. If necessary, they will murder Jews, Christians, and even Muslims," Dor Shachar, 46, said in an interview with Maariv. Born in Khan Yunis, in the Gaza Strip, as Ayman Abu Suboh, who escaped to Israel, converted, and now lives in Rishon LeZion.
According to Shachar, "In Gaza, they are affiliated with organizations like Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Fatah, Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine [PFLP], and others. All these organizations support the killing of Jews. Some of these organizations have infiltrated the Gaza Strip. This is a religious war; they want to take over the entire world."
As a child, Shachar learned that Jews were murderers who took his ancestors' land and that he needed to fight them. "I remember once, Israeli soldiers joined us for a soccer game in the neighborhood. I was maybe 6 years old," he recalled. "After the game, a soldier called me, placed something in my hand, and closed it for me. (Read more)

2. US forces attacked 4 times in Iraq, Syria within hours- Reuters
BAGHDAD, Nov 23 (Reuters) - U.S. forces were attacked four times in Iraq and Syria on Thursday with rockets and armed drones, but there were no casualties or damage to infrastructure, a U.S military official said.
Speaking on condition of anonymity, the official said U.S. and international forces were attacked at two sites in northeastern Syria with multiple rockets and a one-way attack drone.
In Iraq, multiple one-way drones were launched at the Ain Al-Asad airbase west of Baghdad and a drone was launched at a base housing U.S. forces near Erbil airport in northern Iraq.
A group calling itself the Islamic Resistance in Iraq, which analysts say is a catch-all for several Iran-aligned Iraqi armed groups, had claimed attacks on those locations earlier in the day.
The attacks come the day after the U.S. struck the Iran-aligned Kataeb Hezbollah (KH) armed group south of Baghdad in an attack that KH said had left eight members dead.
The attack was condemned by the Iraqi government as escalatory and a violation of sovereignty. (Read more)

3. Finland shuts more Russia border points, says asylum inflow must stop - Reuters
HELSINKI, Nov 24 (Reuters) - Russia must stop sending asylum seekers across its frontier into Finland in what amounts to a "hybrid attack", Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo said on Friday, after the Nordic nation temporarily shut all border passenger crossings bar one.
More than 800 migrants from nations including Afghanistan, Kenya, Morocco, Pakistan, Somalia, Syria and Yemen have entered Finland via Russia in recent weeks, an increase from less than one per day previously, according to the Finnish Border Guard.
Helsinki says Moscow is funnelling them to the border in retaliation for its decision to increase defence cooperation with the United States, a charge the Kremlin denies. Finland infuriated Russia earlier this year when it joined NATO, ending decades of military non-alignment, due to the war in Ukraine.
"We want to send a clear message to Russia: this must stop," Orpo told a press conference.
"It is not at this moment a question of asylum seekers, it is a question of hybrid attack and national security," he said. (Read more)

4. Garland ‘grateful’ for Mexican counterparts who captured suspected cartel security chief - The Hill
Attorney General Merrick Garland on Thursday thanked his Mexican counterparts for their efforts to combat drug trafficking, after officers arrested suspected cartel security chief Néstor Isidro Pérez Salas. “Shortly after the apprehension of El Nini, I spoke with Mexican Attorney General Gertz to thank him for the extraordinary efforts of the Mexican authorities who made the arrest, and to whom we are all grateful for their courage,” Garland said in a statement.
The attorney general confirmed that Pérez Salas — known as “El Nini” — was captured. Garland also reiterated the Biden administration’s “aggressive approach” to disrupting and dismantling the Sinaloa drug cartel — pointing to an announcement earlier this month of charges against 23 members of the cartel.
“The Justice Department is grateful to our Mexican counterparts for their work in that effort,” Garland said, adding “we remain committed to doing everything in our power to dismantle the dangerous drug trafficking cartels that are responsible for death and devastation in both the United States and Mexico.”
El Nini’s arrest comes about two months after the son of infamous Mexican cartel boss Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán was extradited to the U.S. to face trafficking charges. Ovidio Guzmán López pleaded not guilty to the charges in a Chicago court. Garland said he also thanked Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador for that arrest. (Read more)
- We thank You for this arrest of "El Nini" to combat drug trafficking. May more be captured to one day end the deadly drug trafficking across our borders.

5. Things Are Going From Bad To Worse For Joe Biden, Polls Show - Daily Caller
President Joe Biden trails former President Donald Trump in multiple polls and is hemorrhaging support in swing states and key voting blocs, according to an analysis of polls by Politico.
Biden’s support among young voters has fallen to single digits in recent polls by Quinnipiac, Fox News and Morning Consult, polls that show Trump leading among all voters, Politico noted. Trump actually led Biden among young voters in a recent NBC News poll.
Biden’s drop in the polls has been notable since the Israeli Defense Forces launched military operations against Hamas after the radical Islamic terrorist group carried out a deadly terrorist attack on multiple locations in southern Israel Oct. 7, killing over 1,400 people, including at least 30 Americans. An AP-NORC poll showed that only 50% of Democrats approved of Biden’s handling of the conflict in the Middle East, while 46% disapproved. (Read more)

6. Over 2,500 Cops Have Quit The Job In Blue City Just This Year- Daily Caller
Over 2,500 police officers have left the New York Police Department (NYPD) so far in 2023, according to data analyzed by the New York Post. At least 2,516 officers have left the department in 2023, the fourth highest number over the past ten years, the New York Post reported, citing pension data from the department. The department saw over 1,000 officers decide to quit before they became eligible for their pension after 20 years of service.
“The workload is a leading factor driving people away from the job,” Police Benevolent Association (PBA) President Patrick Hendry told the Post. “If the NYPD is going to survive these staffing reductions, it cannot just keep squeezing cops for more hours.”
Democratic Mayor Eric Adams of New York City announced Nov. 16 that the NYPD would freeze hiring in order to address the city’s mounting migrant crisis, two days after he said the city would not hire a class of 250 school safety agents currently being trained.
The NYPD responded to 69 antisemitic attacks in October, a 331% increase in the figure from September in the wake of a deadly terrorist attack launched by Hamas against multiple locations in southern Israel.
“I keep in contact with the guys that I was in the police academy with and we all have the same notion,” one police officer told the New York Post. “I think maybe 95% of us are planning on leaving.” (Read more)
- Father, we are saddened by this report. We pray that measures will be in place to hire more officers and their workload will be decreased.

7. Dem-Run Cities Thrown Into Desperation As Migrant Influx Strains Winter Housing - Daily Caller
Several Democratic-led cities that have received migrants from the Southern border are concerned that they cannot house enough of them in the winter. Large cities in New York, Illinois and Massachusetts have received thousands of migrants from the Southern border since 2021, when migrant crossings began to surge and Republican-led states sought to transport them to Democratic-led cities. The influx has overwhelmed the infrastructure in these cities, with officials now warning that they cannot provide housing to migrants amid cold winter temperatures and demanding federal funding to help, according to Politico.
“As the temperature starts to drop, it is crucial — now more than ever — that the federal government finish the job they started,” said Kayla Mamelak Altus, a spokesperson for Democratic Mayor Eric Adams of New York City, in a statement to Politico. “We need meaningful financial help and a national decompression strategy. New York City cannot continue to manage a national crisis almost entirely on its own.”
City officials in New York have erected massive tent-based camps to house migrants, though these are unlikely to protect them against cold weather in months such as January, when the mean temperature is 33.7°F, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). “I think for us it really is everything coming to bear at a time when the weather is really cold,” said Murad Awawdeh, the executive director of the New York Immigration Coalition, to Politico.
New York officials have taken to offering migrants incentives to leave the city, such as one-way plane tickets to foreign countries with warmer climates, though migrants have reportedly rejected these offers because they desire to remain in the United States.
In Chicago, where Democratic Mayor Brandon Johnson’s administration has been criticized by residents for the influx of migrants, racial animus between black citizens and migrants from other countries is complicating efforts to help the latter prepare for the city’s winter, where the mean temperature is 25.6°F, according to the NOAA. “Residents are seeing that after all this time of promising something for us, nothing has come of it. Now you have folks who have just come to this country, and they’re being serviced,” said Alderperson Ronnie Mosley, who represents the heavily black South Side of Chicago, to Politico. (Read more)
- Father, while we empathize of these conditions with the migrants, we also pray for the government and city officials that created this problem in the first place. Give them foresight now, in Jesus name.
- "When Paul was called in, Tertullus presented his case before Felix: “We have enjoyed a long period of peace under you, and your foresight has brought about reforms in this nation." (Acts 24:2)

8. Bombshell Report: J6 Footage Shows Capitol Police Officers Firing Rubber Bullets at Peaceful Protesters - Red State
In what could possibly be a major revelation related to the J6 riot at the U.S. Capitol building, a recent report suggests that Capitol Police fired rubber bullets into a peaceful crowd of Trump supporters during the incident. If true, this development raises serious questions about the potential role of law enforcement in the escalation of violence on that day.
Human Events published a report detailing an interview between conservative commentator Jack Posobiec and conservative activist Raheem Kassam, who were both present near the Capitol building on Jan. 6, 2021. The report claimed that new footage released by House Speaker Mike Johnson shows that Capitol Police, at least in one instance, opened fire on a crowd of peaceful protesters.
New footage from January 6, 2021, released by Speaker Mike Johnson, reveals that Capitol Police fired rubber bullets and other projectiles into the non-violent crowd that was protesting outside of the building, inciting chaos and confusion.
Jack Posobiec and Raheem Kassam were reporting on the grounds in Washington DC that day, walking towards the Capitol when they heard flash bangs go off at around 1:10 pm EST, right around the time President Donald Trump’s speech was ending.
Posobiec hosted Kassam on his show, Human Events, Monday to recount the events and timeline of the day from their perspective now that these new revelations have finally come to light.
Raheem recalled hearing a bang for the first time and initially thought it sounded like “pallets falling off of the back of a truck” before quickly getting a better view from a rooftop of the scuffle unfolding.
The footage showed law enforcement firing non-lethal rounds into a crowd that was protesting outside the Capitol building, which incited chaos and confusion among the participants.
“We’ve now seen so many more angles, so much more footage of who actually started and provoked the violence that day and, unfortunately, it was the police,” Kassam stated. “The police indiscriminately fired flash bangs, non-lethal munitions into a crowd that was otherwise just milling around.”
He reported that the protesters were not attempting to breach the building nor were any rough with police until they were fired upon. It is unknown at this time who directly gave the order to fire without warning. (Read more)
- Father, this is alarming news that the police would fire rubber bullets into a peaceful crowd. Thank You for revealing more and more truth around January 6 and the cover up that occurred. We pray for accountability.
- "So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God." (Romans 14:12)

9. Judge rejects attempt to enshrine abortion rights on Nevada ballot - The Hill
A judge in Nevada rejected a proposed 2024 ballot initiative that sought to enshrine reproductive rights, including abortion, in the state’s constitution.
Siding with a newly established PAC — the Coalition for Parents and Children PAC — which filed a lawsuit last month to block the petition, District Judge James T. Russell deemed the proposed ballot initiative to be too broad, embracing a “multitude of subjects that amount to logrolling.”
“This is probably the clearest case I have seen that I think there is a violation of the single subject rule,” Russell said, according to local outlet KOLO News, which first reported the ruling.
“I’ve seen a lot of them over the years and in respect to this particular matter, there are too many subjects,” the judge added. “Not all of which are functionally related to each other.”
His ruling follows a petition that was filed Sept. 14 by Nevadans for Reproductive Rights — an abortion-rights political action committee.
If passed by voters, the initiative would have added a new section to Article 1 of the Nevada Constitution, ensuring “every individual has a fundamental right to reproductive freedom, which entails the right to make and effectuate decisions about all matters relating to pregnancy, including, without limitation, prenatal care, childbirth, postpartum care, birth control, vasectomy, tubal ligation, abortion, abortion care, management of a miscarriage and infertility care.” (Read more)
- We pray for Nevadans as they vote on this initiative. Direct their thoughts and hearts to protect the unborn.
- "For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them." (Psalm 139:13-16)

The Ladder And You
The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, November 27, 2023
There are many metaphors about ladders. We hear about how people climb the corporate ladder. There is the ladder to success. Some would say that if the ladder is not set against the right wall, every rung taken is closer to the wrong place. There is the ladder of knowledge. There is the economic ladder that alludes to climbing from one social status to another. There is the ladder of power. There is the ladder of life. There is the ladder of personal evolution. And so on. The ladder symbolizes connection. In reality, the ladder is a basic tool that connects two points that are otherwise out of reach. A mysterious dream of a ladder in the Old Testament has tremendous reality explained in the New Testament.
In Genesis 28, Jacob was on his way to Haran, the home of Rebecca’s relatives, when he came to a “certain place (v.11),” and camped there for the night. The Hebrew indicates that this was not just a random place, but “ha makom,” or “the place.” The use of the verb “yifga,” meaning to encounter, suggests a divine appointment. Jacob laid down to sleep and had a dream about a ladder that reached to heaven with angels ascending and descending on it. The Lord was standing above the ladder and reaffirmed to Jacob His promise made to Abraham and Isaac—that his descendants would be as numerous as the dust of the earth, through him all peoples of the earth would be blessed, and the Lord would be with Jacob. When Jacob awoke from the dream, he exclaimed in Genesis 28:16, “Truly the Lord is in this place—and I didn’t know it!” Read More

5. Ex-CIA Director Michael Hayden Smears Patriotic American Christians: ‘No Different’ from Hamas Terrorists – Breitbart
Former NSA and CIA chief Michael Hayden, who has fashioned a post-government career attacking and censoring conservatives, is spending his Thanksgiving week smearing patriotic American Christians who own firearms, claiming they are “no different” from Hamas terrorists.
On Wednesday, Michael Hayden responded to a post on X that juxtaposed two photos: one of a woman holding an American flag, Bible, and handgun; the other of Palestinian terrorist Reem Riyashi, who killed herself along with four Israelis in a 2004 suicide bombing that was claimed by Hamas and the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade.
“No different at all,” Hayden chimed in.
Hayden’s preposterous claim comes less than two months after Hamas terrorists launched their October 7 massacre of approximately 1,200 Israelis, the worst attack on Jewish people since the Holocaust.
His alarming rhetoric is part of his ongoing smear campaign against conservatives, particularly supporters of former President Donald Trump. In a social media post this week, the former spy chief called for Republican Sen. Tommy Tuberville to be removed from the “human race.” (Breitbart) Read more here.
- Father, wherever the seeds of bitterness and hate live in Mr. Hayden’s heart, we ask You to remove them. If he will not comply with Your Spirit, we ask that his lips be sealed from harming Christians with this rhetoric.

This newly discovered brilliant explosion
just keeps on exploding
|
|
A brilliant flash of blue light briefly outshined its host galaxy before fading away — but then it exploded again, and again.
On September 7, 2022, an automatic telescope picked up a blazing dot of blue light some 1,000 times brighter than a typical supernova. The brilliant blue flare lasted only days before it faded away, but not before an automated system had put astronomers on alert.
The system designated the event AT2022tsd, but it some came to be called the “Tasmanian Devil.” It joined the short list of a special class of objects discovered in 2018 known as luminous fast blue optical transients (LFBOTs). Astronomers think these explosive flares are a special kind of supernova, but they could also be stars ripped apart in the intense gravitational field surrounding a neutron star or black hole. The devil, as they say, is in the details.
But while the Tasmanian Devil’s discovery was a welcome surprise, the real bombshell came 100 days later. In December that year, Anna Ho (Cornell University) and colleagues were reviewing routine images that had monitored the fading flare when, to their bewilderment, they found a red-colored burst almost as bright as the original blue one, and in the same position on the sky.
Scouring for more data, both in the archive and then with new observations, the astronomers found another outburst — and then another, and another. The energy of each one of these outbursts is equivalent to that released from an exploding star. Overall, at least 14 flares followed the first one, Ho and colleagues report in Nature, and it’s likely there were many more they missed. Read More

The True Story Behind Handel's 'Messiah'
and the Day He Had a Vision of God in Heaven
|
|
For many, Christmas wouldn't be complete without witnessing or taking part in a performance of Handel's "Messiah." From the Virginia Symphony in the United States to the heart of the Holy Land, Jerusalem, the show is felt across the globe. German-born George Frideric Handel moved to London in his late thirties. Handel considered himself an opera composer, but public interest was waning in England, and by 1741 a discouraged Handel wondered if retirement was near. "Some people do think at this point, it was kind of like a career crisis ... and it's quite possible that he was thinking of returning to Germany," Martin Wyatt, deputy director of Handel House Museum in London, told CBN News.
That's when Charles Jennens handed him the words, or libretto, of "Messiah." Jennens, a literary scholar, carefully selected Old and New Testament scriptures documenting prophecies about the Messiah, Jesus' birth, death on the cross and resurrection. "For Jennens, I think Messiah was a very personal passion, a very personal mission, and Jennens was a deeply religious man, a very committed Christian," Wyatt said. "We find Jennens writing to another friend of his saying, 'I've done this scripture collection for Handel, and I hope that he will expend his best efforts on it so that it becomes his best oratorio because it's certainly on the best subject. The subject is Messiah,'" Charles Jennens scholar Ruth Smith said. It's said that Handel never left his house during those three weeks, and a friend who visited discovered him sobbing with intense emotion. After he wrote the "Hallelujah" chorus, Handel was quoted as saying, "I did think I did see all Heaven before me, and the great God Himself."
- Abba Father, we lift PRAISE to You and hallow Your Name for revealing Yourself through the work of Handel's "Messiah"! Prepare each of our hearts through music, during this season, to worship You well and seek You in every aspect of our lives. May listening to Handel's Messiah and Hymns during festive-gatherings and quiet moments serve as a quickening of the spirit for all hurting and lost souls to fully realign their hearts towards You. In the Powerful Name of our Holy Messiah, Jesus Christ our Lord- Amen
- "To the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen" (Jude 1:25)

I’m pressing on the upward way,
New heights I’m gaining every day;
Still praying as I’m onward bound,
Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.
Refrain
Lord, lift me up and let me stand,
By faith, on Heaven’s table land,
A higher plane than I have found;
Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.
My heart has no desire to stay
Where doubts arise and fears dismay;
Though some may dwell where those abound,
My prayer, my aim, is higher ground.
Refrain
I want to live above the world,
Though Satan’s darts at me are hurled;
For faith has caught the joyful sound,
The song of saints on higher ground.
Refrain
I want to scale the utmost height
And catch a gleam of glory bright;
But still I’ll pray till Heav’n I’ve found,
Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.
Refrain
