'This is really 1930s Germany': Israeli academics say Jews face access restrictions on US campuses
|
|
Four Israeli academics at US universities tell Ynet about physical and emotional challenges of confronting campus demonstrations; 'Jews are simply not allowed to enter the buildings, and It's only getting worse'
|
|
Pro-Palestinian and anti-Israel demonstrations are prevalent on both the East and West Coasts of the United States, creating challenging environments for Jewish professors and students who report feeling targeted across the country.
At the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), Prof. Nir Hoftman, an anesthesia specialist with 22 years of tenure, says he has been under attack for his Jewish identity.
"I am a scientist, but since the demonstrations started on campus I have hardly touched research, I am only engaged in a war of survival for our existence as Jews in this country," he said. (YNET News) Read more here

- Abba, we know your heart is breaking for all Israelis on US campuses right now. Our country is in a total lapse of "remembrance" of what Nazi Germany looked like in the 1930's, but You remember. We ask Holy Spirit to move in power on all US college administrators that have been tolerating antisemitism in any of its forms, reveal the hatred they have allowed into their own hearts and onto their campuses.
We ask that all college administrators, who have threatened suspension or expulsion, have the internal conviction to stand by their words and bring consequence to such hate-filled actions. Without consequence, nothing will be learned.
Father God, we ask you to speak your truth into the hearts of the protestors, remind them You will not be mocked, that coming against your people is like coming against You. We ask this in the name El Shaddai, Mighty God who has ultimate power over all things.
- "A prudent person foresees danger
and takes precautions.
The simpleton goes blindly on and
suffers the consequences."

Judge Rules Trump Can Attend Son Barron’s High School Graduation
|
|
The judge overseeing former President Donald Trump’s so-called “hush-money” trial said Tuesday that he can attend his son’s high school graduation in May.
At a hearing on Tuesday morning, Judge Juan Merchan granted a request from President Trump’s attorneys asking the judge to allow him to appear at his son Barron’s May 17 high graduation. The judge previously had not allowed the former president to attend a Supreme Court hearing in Washington, which occurred last week.
“We picked the jury pretty quickly,” the judge said, adding: “So Mr. Trump can certainly attend that date.”
Outside the courtroom Tuesday, President Trump criticized prosecutors again. “This is a case that should have never been brought,” he said.
“Our country’s going to hell and we sit here day after day after day, which is their plan, because they think they might be able to eke out an election,” he said last week in the courthouse hallway. (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

- Abba, we give You high praise that Judge Merchan has changed his mind and will allow President Trump to go to Barron's graduation!! We thank You that the enemy was not allowed to ruin this very special day for Barron and his parents. Jesus, we ask you to continue protecting Barron from all attacks of the enemy, give him insight, wisdom and understanding as he matures and grows into the godly man You created him to be, in Jesus' name. Allow your word to develop relationship and intimacy in his heart with you, molding his character and guiding him into his destiny, in Jesus' name. We ask this in the name Yahweh Rohi, The Lord Our Shepherd.
- You guide me with your counsel, leading
me to a glorious destiny.

Are the Chinese about to 'deal a devastating blow' to America?
|
|
The Biden team clearly wants to distract American voters with a foreign threat
|
|
This might sound like a plot for a thriller — and I am the author of "The Year of the Dragon" — but the director of the FBI, Christopher Wray, recently said, at Vanderbilt University’s "Summit on Modern Conflict and Emerging Threats," that Chinese-government-linked hackers have "burrowed into critical U.S. infrastructure" and are waiting for "just the right moment to deal a devastating blow" to America.
Could such a moment come if China attacks Taiwan? Just imagine the mayhem in the U.S. if the national power grid was taken down for days.
The U.S., along with Taiwan, run war games scenarios on worries like these annually. But why is the director of the FBI worrying about them publicly?
Also, why in the same political moment did U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken publish talking points saying there are now "290,000 Chinese students in the United States" but just 900 American students in China?
In the release, Blinken did not mention the massive rise in Chinese nationals entering through the porous southern border of the U.S. — that fact just isn’t something the Biden administration finds politically convenient enough to talk about.
But Blinken did say the Biden administration is "very clear-eyed about the challenges posed by the PRC [People’s Republic of China] and about our competing visions for the future," before talking about how China is supplying Russia with military parts that are "powering Russia’s brutal war of aggression against Ukraine." - Abba, we are sure that Mr. Miniter's intentions are filled with concern for our nation and it's protection, but we don't see You taken into consideration in any of his concerns. We ask you, Father God, to be our protector when it comes to China's threats to defeat the United States. We decree and declare that You are God and Xi Jinping is not! We ask Holy Spirit to fill the hearts of those who are called by Your name with faith to pull down any demonic strongholds of communism that have been established in our nation. We ask for the confidence of David to come against all representations of this godless type of government. Give us words and strategies to aggressively destroy any foundations of belief that do not align with your heart for our country. We ask this in the name Jehovah Sabaoth, The Host of Heaven's Armies. Amen.
- "We use God's mighty weapons, not worldly
weapons, to knock down the
strongholds of human reasoning and to
destroy false arguments."

2. Israel warns: ICC warrants will lead to retaliation against PA - Israel National News
The Israeli government has warned the Biden administration that if the International Criminal Court issues arrest warrants against Israeli leaders, it will take retaliatory steps against the Palestinian Authority that could lead to its collapse, Axios' Barak Ravid reported, citing two Israeli and US officials.
US and Israeli officials said Israel told the Biden administration that if arrest warrants are issued, it will consider the Palestinian Authority responsible and retaliate with strong action that could lead to its collapse.
According to the report, one possible action could be to freeze the transfer of tax revenues Israel collects for the Palestinian Authority. Without these funds, the Palestinian Authority would be bankrupt. (Read more)

5. Colombia’s President Announces Plan to Break Diplomatic Ties With Israel - Algemeiner
Colombian President Gustavo Petro said on Wednesday that his country will sever diplomatic ties with Israel over its military campaign in Gaza, the Palestinian enclave bordering the Jewish state.
“Here in front of you, the government of change, of the president of the republic announces that tomorrow we will break diplomatic relations with the state of Israel … for having a government, for having a president who is genocidal,” Petro told supporters in Bogota at a rally marking International Worker’s Day.
The crowd cheered the president’s remarks about Israel, and Petro — a fierce critic of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu — said that countries must not remain passive in the face of what’s happening in Gaza.
Petro’s declaration came after he requested to join South Africa’s case at the International Court of Justice accusing Israel of committing “state-led genocide” in Gaza. Israel and its allies have derided the allegations as baseless. (Read more)

1. National Day of Prayer May 2 - Messenger
Thursday, May 2, thousands of people will gather to intercede for neighbor and nation and pray for those who lead, and those in need.
“Some may say the world is getting darker,” said National Day of Prayer Task Force president, Kathy Branzell. “But as long as God’s people are reading and relying on the Word, believing and living His Word, praying and practicing His Word, the world is full of light that exposes and dispels the darkness. The world will get better and brighter if we commit to live out this year’s National Day of Prayer theme, Lift Up the Word, Light Up the World.”
These bright and shining prayers will be carried out in all 50 states and several U.S. territories through tens of thousands of local prayer gatherings on the National Day of Prayer. The National Day of Prayer observance was created in 1952 by a joint resolution of Congress and signed into law by President Truman. (Read more)

2. U.S. birth and fertility rates drop to record lows, according to CDC report - CNA
Provisional data published by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) this week showed that the fertility rate in the United States hit a record low and the total number of births in the country was the lowest it’s been in decades.
According to the report, slightly fewer than 3.6 million babies were born in 2023, or 54.4 births per 1,000 women aged 15 through 44. This was a 2% decline in total births and a 3% decline in births per 1,000 women when compared with the previous year.
The total fertility rate, which estimates how many children an average woman would have over the course of her life based on the yearly data, was just over 1.6 births per woman, which was a 2% decline from the previous year. This is well below the replacement rate needed to sustain a population, which is about 2.1 births per woman over her life. (Read more)

3. Evangelical Voters Most Concerned over Immigration, Sovereignty, Abortion - Washington Stand
American evangelicals consider immigration, U.S. sovereignty, and abortion to be the top issues facing the nation heading into November’s election, according to a new survey. Coral Ridge Ministries recently published its 2024 “Spiritual State of the Union” survey results, polling American evangelicals on everything from the economy to religious liberty to the president’s approval rating.
One question asked was, “What are the three most critical issues facing the new Congress and administration?” Fifty-six percent of respondents named immigration as one of their top three, 33% named American sovereignty, and 32% named abortion. Immigration has consistently been a top concern for Americans in national polls, typically second only to inflation and the economy.
In comments to The Washington Stand, FRC Action Director Matt Carpenter said, “Given how severe the crisis at our country’s southern border is, and the creeping influence of unelected, unaccountable, international organizations on America’s sovereignty, it makes sense evangelical voters would prioritize these issues alongside defending the unborn when they go to vote on November 5.” He added, “I think evangelical voters, maybe more than any other voting group, understand what’s at stake when a nation turns from God.” (Read more)

4. Columbia University Threatens to Expel Students Occupying Building in Pro-Palestinian Demonstration - The Epoch times
Columbia University has warned students who took over and barricaded themselves inside a building on campus as part of an ongoing pro-Palestinian demonstration that they face now expulsion.
Protesters first took over Hamilton Hall early on Tuesday morning after defying orders to disperse from an earlier encampment they had set up at Columbia University’s Morningside Campus in New York City. Participants were seen vandalizing the building and moving furniture and other items into the entryways.
In a statement Tuesday, Columbia spokesperson Ben Chang said “students occupying the building face expulsion,” and those who defied the earlier calls to disperse on Monday were being suspended. (Read more)

5. Northwestern University reaches agreement with anti-Israel protesters to dismantle encampment - The Times of Israel
Northwestern University has reached an agreement with pro-Palestinian and anti-Israel demonstrators that will see them take down their “Gaza solidarity encampment,” in one of the first such deals aimed at de-escalating protests that have rocked campuses across the US.
The students agreed to take down all but one of the nearly 100 tents erected on the school quad since Thursday. In exchange, Northwestern has agreed to take several steps to expand student engagement in the school’s financial investments.
The protesters have demanded that the university divest from Israeli companies and cease partnerships with Israeli institutions.
Northwestern also agreed to fund the tuition of five Palestinian undergraduates and hire two visiting Palestinian faculty members in addition to providing a temporary space on campus for Middle Eastern and Muslim students until their existing house finishes renovation.
Jewish and pro-Israel groups slammed the agreement. (Read more)

6. Biden Admin Locks In Regulations Targeting Appliance Owned By ‘Almost Every US Household’ - The Daily Caller
The Department of Energy (DOE) finalized regulations Tuesday for a popular appliance that will push the market toward adopting heat pump technology.
The DOE’s final energy efficiency regulations for water heaters will apply to common electrical water heaters and significantly increase the share of those models that use heat pumps, according to the agency. The DOE has spearheaded the Biden administration’s efforts to push rules and regulations targeting appliances ranging from pool pump motorsand lightbulbs to furnaces and portable generators.
“Almost every U.S. household has a water heater, and for too long outdated energy efficiency standards have led to higher utility bills for families,” Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm said in a statement about the new rules. “The Biden-Harris Administration is continuing to put American consumers first with new, effective rules—supported by industry—that save both energy and money.” (Read more)

7. Florida Suing Biden Administration over Title IX Changes: President ‘Abusing’ Authority to Push Transgender Ideology - Breitbart
Florida is suing President Joe Biden’s administration over its changes to Title IX, which mandate the acceptance of transgender ideology, Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) announced on Tuesday.
“Florida is suing the Biden Administration over its unlawful Title IX changes. Biden is abusing his constitutional authority to push an ideological agenda that harms women and girls and conflicts with the truth,” DeSantis said.
“We will not comply, and we will fight back against Biden’s harmful agenda,”
The new Title IX regulations are being interpreted as promoting gender confusion, using the term “gender identity” rather than biological sex to describe certain situations. This opens the door for not only promoting but forcing the embrace of transgender ideology, which the Biden Administration has been doing over the years. (Read more)

8. Biden administration plotting to ‘welcome’ Palestinian refugees from Gaza - DML News
Last month, Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) warned in a podcast with Steve Bannon that the Biden administration was plotting to fly several hundred thousand Palestinians from Gaza into the United States as refugees and give them citizenship.
“Old Joe, to win back his base…because a lot of them have gotten killed [in Gaza].. will say, ok we’ll bring 500,000, 600,000 or 700,000 of them, we’ll fly them in,” Tuberville told Bannon. Tuberville and Bannon both noted that “nobody wants them,” such as Egypt or Saudi Arabia.
CBS News just announced: “White House considers welcoming some Palestinians from war-torn Gaza as refugees.”
The Biden administration is considering bringing certain Palestinians to the U.S. as refugees, a move that would offer a permanent safe haven to some of those fleeing war-torn Gaza, according to internal federal government documents obtained by CBS News. (Read more)

Stupidocrisy: It Can Happen To You, Too
The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, May 1, 2024
Call it what you will—communism, socialism, fascism, democratic socialism, liberal democrat, whatever—these are all different shades of tyranny, cousins of the same family. And there is no evidence greater that it is alive and well in America than these so-call “trials” conjured up the Democratic Party against former president Donald Trump. A hallmark of communism, or tyranny in general, is the destruction of political opposition. This is what is happening to Trump. And, if we are not careful, it will happen to any of us who disagree with the Democratic Party bosses. They are using the full measure of their party appointments, elected officials and operatives to persecute Trump in these show trials.
While the Democratic Party, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton conspired to, but unsuccessfully, implicate candidate Trump in 2016 and Russia in an election interference scheme (and spending millions in taxpayer dollars to prove nothing), there is even a bigger election interference occurring today. It is obvious that the Democrats have weaponized their court appointments and elected Democrat prosecutors to try to put Trump behind bars. This smacks of the communist show trials we saw during the Cold War as well as what we see today in China, Nicaragua, and Cuba. Stalin’s longstanding secret police chief Laverntiy Beria bragged “show me the man and I’ll show you the crime” as he was responsible for the execution of millions during the Stalin era. Any opposition for any crime committed or not. Read More

Violent Anti-Israel Encampments ‘Can’t Be Allowed under First Amendment,’ Congressman Says
|
|
|
As anti-Israel protests continue to rise, some authorities have decided it’s time for the campus chaos to meet a campus crackdown. Many of these demonstrations have become violent and disruptive. Some universities such as Columbia and Georgetown have students cluttering school grounds with encampments and pro-Palestine signs promoting ceasefires and anti-Semitic sentiments. And as further evidence of these disruptive protests, University of Southern California (USC) recently announced the cancellation of their May commencement ceremony due to safety concerns.
What is really behind these demonstrations? This question was raised on Monday’s episode of “Washington Watch with Tony Perkins,” and as far as Rep. Tim Walberg (R-Mich.) is concerned, it can be tied to the way the Biden administration has failed to take charge since the October 7 attacks. “I think the lack of leadership coming from the top at the White House … has enabled this to take place,” he argued.
Walberg went on to observe that three years ago, at the inauguration, President Joe Biden “said he was going to be a president for all the people, and he was going to unite this country.” But “this country is divided more than ever,” Walberg asserted. While demonstrations on college campuses are “part of college life,” he insisted, what we’re seeing are “violent” demonstrations “that make certain students, in this case, Jews, fear for their lives and their academic careers. … It’s an atrocious time on campus. It has to stop.” (The Washington Stand) Read more here.

- Abba, so much of our society today has been infiltrated by people who follow after the enemy and not after You. As your church, we ask Your forgiveness for not remaining vigilant to "occupy until You come". We ask for renewed vision of what You meant when You said You have given us authority over all the power of the enemy, in Jesus' name. Show us how to walk that truth out in our prayers for college administrators and all who are protesting against Israel and against the US in Jesus' name..
We ask Holy Spirit to move in power over minds and hearts of all intercessors, give us courage to pray BIG prayers, believing You will answer, in Jesus' name. Jesus, speak to the minds and hearts of all those in Congress, give them courageous spirits to create and pass laws that protect our freedoms, and to stand against those laws that take our freedoms away. We ask this in the name Jehovah Nissi, The Lord Our Banner, where banner is understood to be a rallying place. This name commemorates the desert victory over the Amalekites!

afraid or discouraged. For the Lord
your God is with you wherever you go."

Group of 10 anti-Israel protesters arrested at University of South Florida, including one with gun: police

One of the protesters, a 39-year-old man, was found with a firearm and was released Wednesday after posting bond, according to jail records
|
|
Ten protesters at an anti-Israel rally that quickly became chaotic were arrested Tuesday at the University of South Florida campus after authorities deployed tear gas.
Around 75 to 100 protesters arrived at the Tampa college campus Tuesday morning, including some not affiliated with the university, with wood shields, umbrellas and tents, school police said.
As the day progressed, authorities saw social media posts where participants expressed the intent to bring weapons to resist university staffers and campus police, authorities said.
The arrests came after dozens of protesters gathered near Martin Luther King Jr. Plaza on campus for a rally, the same location where three people were arrested on Monday for similar protests. The university gave a 5 p.m. deadline for protesters to disperse.
Fox News Digital reached out to the university and Tampa Bay Students for a Democratic Society (SDS), which organized Tuesday's event.
"SHAME ON USF! USF administration allowed for the brutalization of students and community members utilizing their rights to free speech and assembly," the SDS Tampa chapter posted on social media Wednesday. "We will not be silenced. We call upon students, faculty, and the community to attend an emergency rally in solidarity with students and Palestine!" (Fox News) Read more here.

- Father God, some of those who were arrested may have been students; while others may have been "professional" agitators (like the SDS), brought in from the outside to bring chaos to this campus. Either way, their behavior is outside of the law, endangering others and (in this case) hindering actual students from pursuing their studies.
Lord God, we cry out in repentance, for we have not been paying attention to what is being taught to our students - lessons of communism, Marxism and socialism. Hence, we see this fruit. Help us, O Lord, to come back to our senses, that we might live holy lives before You in all godliness and dignity. Let us come to the end of ourselves, that we might find You there. In Your Name Abba we pray, amen and amen.

Moon, Mercury and meteors: Don't miss these 3 events in the May sky
|
|
The best meteor shower of the spring will kick off a month featuring a variety of astronomical sights, none of which will require a telescope to see.
Warming weather across North America will provide more comfortable conditions for spending time under the stars with summer right around the corner although there may still be a few chilly nights across the northern tier of the United States.
May 4-5: Eta Aquarid meteor shower
The first weekend of the month will bring the peak of the Eta Aquarid meteor shower, the second event of its kind in less than two weeks following the Lyrids in late April. And experts say 2024 will be a particularly good year for viewing the event.
May 9: Mercury in the morning sky
Mercury is one of the most challenging planets to spot in the sky due to its proximity to the sun, but early risers will have the opportunity to see the planet during the first full week of the month.
On May 9, Mercury will be visible low in the eastern sky before sunrise. If cloudy conditions obscure the sky, stargazers should be able to see the planet on the mornings that follow if the cloud conditions improve although Mercury may not appear quite as high in the sky compared to May 9.
May 23: Full Flower Moon
The last full moon of spring will rise on Thursday, May 23, a moon that has many nicknames due to the flora and fauna on full display during the month.
The most common nickname for May's full moon is the Flower Moon, as it is the time when blooming and blossoming flowers are on full display across North America, according to the Old Farmer's Almanac.

God Behind Bars:
Satanist, Suicidal Woman Among Hundreds
Redeemed Through 'The Power of Jesus'
|
|
God Behind Bars is sharing more amazing stories about how God is touching hearts and changing lives to set hundreds of prisoners free, including the story of a prisoner who had turned away from worshipping Satan by giving his life to Jesus Christ. "I've seen the glory of God," inmate Daniel told the ministry. "There is nobody greater. There is nobody more powerful, nobody more dangerous, which is good when you need a warrior on your side. He is a man of battle, for real." The former gang member told God Behind Bars he is "all in about Jesus," but that wasn't always the story. "About a year ago is when God took me out of the satanic cult," he shared. "I had been with the Lord before that, but I backslid and wasn't involved in church anymore, so it was an accident that I became part of [the cult] when I was trying to learn deeper things. I've never seen anything better than what the Lord has revealed to me now," Daniel added.
As CBN News has reported, God Behind Bars is a national prison ministry that is working to restore the lives of inmates by building their faith, during incarceration and after their release. The ministry is strategically working to reach the more than 2.3 million people in the prison system. "We create satellite campuses in prisons and our whole mission is to introduce inmates to Jesus," Isaac Holt, Director of Innovation for God Behind Bars, told CBN News. In 2021, the ministry released its PandoApp – a faith-based app, that gives prisoners access to worship music and sermons on a tablet. The ministry's goal to win souls for the Kingdom of God is exploding into an ongoing outreach that is providing hope in a dark place. (CBN) Read More and Watch Interview Here

The Lord shall enlighten my darkness.
For by You I can run against a troop;
By my God I can leap over a wall.
As for God, His way is perfect;
The word of the Lord is proven;
He is a shield to all who trust in Him.
(2 Samuel 22:29-31)

"Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior. In Your Name."

Words and Music: Frederick Lehman
Scripture: Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Romans 8:35
Lyrics:
The love of God is greater far
Than tongue or pen
Can ever tell
It goes beyond
The highest star
And reaches to
The lowest hell
The guilty pair
Bowed down with care
God gave his son to win
His erring child
He reconciled
And pardoned from his sin
Oh love of God
How rich and pure
How measureless and strong
It shall forevermore endure
The saints and angels song
Could we with ink
The ocean fill
And were the skies
Of parchment made
Were every stalk on earth a quill
And every man a scribe by trade
To write the love of God above
Would drain the ocean dry
Nor could the scroll contain the whole
Though stretched from sky to sky
Oh love of God
How rich and pure
How measureless and strong
It shall forevermore endure
The saints and angels song
