FBI Gives House Oversight Committee Access to Biden Document, Averting Contempt Vote
|
|
The House Committee on Oversight and Accountability, led by GOP Rep. James Comer (R-Ky.), has now scrapped plans to convene a vote to hold FBI Director Christopher Wray in contempt of Congress.
Comer had been after an unclassified FD-1023 form that the FBI generated, which contained allegations that then-Vice President Joe Biden took a bribe from a foreign national. The committee had issued a subpoena in early May, with a deadline of May 31, requesting all FD-1023 forms containing the name “Biden.”
The FD-1023 forms are used by FBI agents to collect unverified reports from various confidential human sources. The information on the form represents what was told to an FBI agent.
Comer and other House Republicans had threatened to hold Wray in contempt if he did not produce the documents. Earlier on Wednesday, the committee introduced a 17-page resolution (pdf) doing just that. A business meeting to have the full committee consider the resolution was scheduled for Thursday at 9 a.m. (EST).
But by late Wednesday, the committee announced that the FBI has decided to provide access to some documents— including the FD-1023 form Comer had been after—and that the committee’s business meeting on Thursday to vote on holding Wray in contempt was now scrapped. (Read more)

Even though most Americans aren’t paying much attention at this point, the way that the war in Ukraine is evolving should greatly concern all of us. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and his generals very clearly understand that they are in very big trouble unless they can draw the U.S. and other NATO powers directly into the conflict. All of Bakhmut is now under Russian control, and the Ukrainians continue to lose troops at a staggering pace. They are holding a losing hand, but if Ukrainian leaders can find a way to get the Russians to use tactical nukes or other weapons of mass destruction, that would change everything. Western powers would feel compelled to respond in kind, and then we really would have a truly apocalyptic conflict on our hands.
In recent days, there has been a tremendous amount of hype about the coming “counter-offensive” that the Ukrainians have supposedly been planning…
Kyiv renewed its plea for operational silence around the long-awaited counter-offensive against Russian forces with a clip of heavily-armed soldiers pressing their fingers to their lips.The sleekly-produced footage features masked front-line troops gesturing for silence amid the distant rumble of artillery and gunfire. It ends with images of soaring F-16 fighter jets – long coveted by Kyiv as it seeks to boost its air defence against Russian missiles and drones.
But instead of trying to retake Bakhmut or any of the other areas of Ukraine that the Russians have captured, the Ukrainians have been focusing their attacks on Russia itself. Worse Than Yesterday: Wildfire Smoke Moving Over Northeast and Mid-Atlantic Cities
|
|
The good news: Mayor Eric Adams of New York said Thursday morning that "smoke models are not indicating another large plume over the city," and there is a chance of "significant improvement" in air quality on Friday.
The bad news: Air quality indices in many Northeast and Mid-Atlantic cities are registering at "hazardous" levels.
The Mid-Atlantic states bear the brunt of the Canadian wildfire smoke today, while Northeast states may see relief as soon as Friday. (Read more)

1. Israeli MK proposes dividing Temple Mount between Jews and Muslims - World Israel News
A Likud lawmaker is proposing a plan to divide Jerusalem’s Temple Mount between Muslims and Jews and remove Jordan’s custodial status over the holy site.
Speaking to the Zman Yisrael Hebrew news site, MK Amit Halevi outlined a plan whereby Muslims would control the southern end of the 37-acre complex which contains the Al Aqsa Mosque, while Jews would receive the central and northern area, where the Dome of the Rock sits.
According to Halevi, the reorganization makes sense from a religious point of view because that part of the Temple Mount is the holiest site in Judaism, where it is believed the first and second Temples stood. The Foundation Stone at the center of the Dome of the Rock is where Jewish sources place the Holy of Holies. (Read more)

President Isaac Herzog expressed his concern about a "great existential threat to our people, which comes from within," on Thursday during an event organized by the World Jewish Congress(WJC) in Jerusalem.
During the event, over 120 Jewish leaders, from 50 countries and a corresponding group of more than one hundred young Israelis gathered in Jerusalem for a meeting with Herzog as part of the WJC's Jewish Leadership Bridge for the Future.

Five people were murdered and two others moderately injured in a shooting incident in Yafa an-Naseriyye in northern Israel.
The injured were evacuated to the English Hospital in Nazareth, where the doctors declared the deaths of five of them.

5. Strike called in Arab towns as another crime killing lifts day’s death toll to 6 - Times of Israel
A general strike will be held Friday in the Arab community in protest of a deadly mass shooting in the northern town of Yafa an-Naseriyye, the High Follow-Up Committee for Arab Citizens of Israel umbrella group announced, as more apparent criminal violence claimed a sixth victim in under a day.
The committee called for protests to be held over the weekend after five people were shot dead at a carwash in the town near Nazareth, the country’s most deadly crime incident since 2009.
The group also voiced support for the call within the government to involve the Shin Bet security agency in the fight against violent organized crime in the Arab Israeli community, which has claimed 98 lives so far this year. (Read more)

KYIV — Russia unleashed a barrage of missiles on the Ukrainian-held parts of Kherson on Thursday, with eyewitnesses reporting casualties at a school where flood evacuees who fled the rising waters of the Dnipro River were sheltering.
The shelling came just after Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited a crossing point where people were being evacuated from flooded areas and called for “a clear and quick global response” to Tuesday’s bombing of the Nova Kakhovka dam, which Kyiv and its allies say the Kremlin orchestrated.
“Orcs have just fired at School No. 2 where people from flooded homes were gathering,” said Yevhen Rischuk, the Ukrainian mayor-in-exile of the occupied town of Oleshky, which has been hit hard by the floodwaters. “Orcs” is the nickname Ukrainians use for Russian forces.
According to multiple eyewitnesses, the shelling targeting major evacuation routes from the city of Kherson, which Ukraine recaptured from Russia’s invading forces in last fall’s counteroffensive. Federal prosecutors have notified Donald Trump's lawyers that he's a target of their investigation into his handling of classified documents after the end of his term in office, The New York Times, Politico and other outlets reported Wednesday evening.
The issuance of a so-called target letter often signals that an investigation is nearly complete and that the filing of criminal charges is imminent. A "target" is an individual whom federal prosecutors determine to be linked to a crime via substantial evidence.

4. Fox News Says Tucker Carlson in Breach of Contract After Launching Twitter Show – ZeroHedge
Fox News on Wednesday told attorneys for Tucker Carlson that the former host violated his contract with the network after he launched his own show on Twitter, according to Axios
, which obtained a copy of the letter. After removing Tucker from his prime-time slot and parting way, Fox continued to hold Tucker's contract over his head - which stipulates that he isn't allowed to appear on another network until after the 2024 election.
Carlson's Tuesday premiere currently gained 10 million views in two hours, and is currently sitting at 105 million views. On the other hand, Fox News on Tuesday had just over 1.57 million prime time viewers, according to Adweek. So Carlson is clearly smoking his former employer. (Read more)

5. Police Arrest Christian Man Who Quoted Bible Across the Street from LGBT Pride March – LifeSite News
'Now in this country, 'God' is a derogatory term,' Damon Atkins said after his arrest last weekend in Reading, Pennsylvania.
A Christian protester in Pennsylvania was arrested Saturday as he quoted Scripture verses in response to an LGBT “pride” month event. Damon Atkins was arrested by Reading, Pennsylvania, police officers on June 3 for “criminal disorderly conduct” for preaching against the Reading’s first ever “Pride March and Rally” outside City Hall on Washington Street.
The event included men dressed as sexually exaggerated versions of women and the raising of an LGBT rainbow flag atop the City Hall building.
Atkins, who held up a sign that read “God said go and sin no more” and wore a shirt with a message reading “You must be born again,” stood on the opposite side of the street from pro-LGBT activists and spoke out against the proceedings. (Read more)

Promoting Suicidal Behavior In Children

Corporations, the government, school systems and nonprofits have been poisoned by some sort of sex lust for children that they are aiding and abetting sexual predation of children, which promotes suicide and suicidal thoughts. Drag queens reading children books, the Southern Poverty Law Center providing explicitly transgender best practices guide for school kids, school districts lying to parents about the gender-grooming in public schools. Transgender kits being sent to school kids. This horror show is a ticket to a totally abhorrent society in the years to come, and this government-sanctioned sex abuse of our children must end. These people must be prosecuted and removed from any contact with children.
Allowing the LGBTQ+++ community access to elementary and high schools may be a primary cause of suicide among LGBTQ+++ preteen and teen recruits. This “grooming” of minor children by LGBTQ+ activists welcomed by school systems appears to be leading children down such a path of guilt and confusion that studies indicate they are committing suicide at alarming rates compared with their heterosexual peers. A 2019 study published in the Journal of Adolescent Health analyzed 10,311 suicides ages 12-29 using information from the National Violent Death Reporting System (NVDRS) found that adolescents aged 12 to 14 who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, and/or transgender are more likely to die by suicide than heterosexual teens of the same age. Supreme Court backs landmark voting rights law, strikes down Alabama congressional map
|

WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court on Thursday struck down Republican-drawn congressional districts in Alabama that civil rights activists say discriminated against Black voters in a surprise reaffirmation of the landmark Voting Rights Act.
The court in a 5-4 vote ruled against Alabama, meaning the map of the seven congressional districts, which heavily favors Republicans, will now be redrawn. Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Brett Kavanaugh, both conservatives, joined the court's three liberals in the majority.
In doing so, the court — which has a 6-3 conservative majority — turned away the state’s effort to make it harder to remedy concerns raised by civil rights advocates that the power of Black voters in states like Alabama is being diluted by dividing voters into districts where white voters dominate.
In the ruling, Roberts, writing for the majority, said a lower court had correctly concluded that the congressional map violated the voting rights law.
He wrote in Thursday's ruling that there are genuine fears that the Voting Rights Act “may impermissibly elevate race in the allocation of political power” and that the Alabama ruling “does not diminish or disregard those concerns.”
The court instead “simply holds that a faithful application of our precedents and a fair reading of the record before us do not bear them out here,” Roberts added. (Read more)

Lord, there is so much political hype surrounding this ruling that it is hard to know how to pray. Father, I don't believe that you are political in any thoughts you think or decisions you make. Your heart is for justice to prevail in this and all political decisions made in Alabama and across the US.
So Father, we are asking that your justice will prevail when this new map is drawn. We ask for your presence to permeate every conversation and decision made concerning voting rights in Alabama. We ask you to create an atmosphere of honor that will guide and direct hearts, attitudes and decisions. We ask you to break off the spirit of dishonor that has invaded our culture. We ask for hearts of humility as final decisions are made. We ask this in the name of El Shaddai, the Almighty God. AMEN

Worldwide outcry begins against the WHO

We are not the only ones deeply concerned about the WHO’s bid to take over the world. Fresh off the heels of the WHO’s Annual World Assembly meeting, six British members of Parliament (MPs) are demanding their government resist the WHO plans for a global government.
In an official letter to the British government, these six MPs indicated they are “alarmed by plans to increase the WHO's powers enabling its governing body to require countries to hand over the recipe of vaccines, regardless of intellectual property rights, and to counter misinformation,” according to British newswires.
The Pandemic Treaty and 307 amendments to the WHO’s IHR agreement “appear to intrude materially into the UK's ability to make its own rules and control its own budgets.” As such, the MPs are demanding their government refuse to sign the treaty, instead allowing Parliament to vote on the treaty.

GIGANTIC MOUNTAINS INSIDE EARTH MYSTIFY SCIENTISTS

MOUNT EVEREST HAS NOTHING ON THESE MONSTERS
Mount Everest may be the highest peak on Earth, but the BBC reports that there are staggeringly tall mountains deep inside our planet's interior that dwarf the tallest ranges on the surface — and scientists are puzzling over the origin of these geological marvels.
These gigantic buried mountain ranges, called ultra-low velocity zones (ULVZ), are located in the core-mantle boundary inside Earth, around 1,800 miles deep. Some can be "4.5 times the height of Everest" or more than 24 miles in height, researchers told the BBC, and completely hidden until they were revealed by seismic data from earthquakes and even atomic explosions.
"We found evidence for ULVZs kind of everywhere," University of Alabama geologist Samantha Hansen told the BBC, adding that "if it's big enough, we can see it."
Scientists have speculated that these structures may be remnants of ancient oceanic crusts that were pushed deep into the Earth's interior, or parts of the mantle that have been superheated by the planet's searingly hot core. Read More

30-Minute-Old Infant Surrendered to Tennessee Baby Box

Knoxville, Tennessee had their first infant rescued in the city’s Safe Haven Baby Box last week. The baby boy was less than an hour old when he was placed there, and he now lies safely in the hands of the Department of Children’s Services in hopes of finding a loving adoptive family. The box was established in February but finally put to use this week. Tennessee is the 16th state with updated laws that now allow the installation of Safe Haven Baby Boxes. There are currently 147 active baby boxes in the United States, and as more attention is brought to the mission behind the boxes, more lives are saved. Another baby was surrendered in the Ocala Fire Rescue baby box earlier this year in Florida. According to Safe Haven Baby Boxes on Twitter, “There are now 148 Baby Boxes across 9 states. There have been 31 babies safely and lovingly surrendered in our Baby Boxes since 2017.” Slowly but surely, these boxes are making an impact across America as more people become aware of their significance.
The devices are located in an exterior wall of a hospital or fire station and enclosed with protective features and breathing holes along with an automatic alarm system that notifies the local police station 60 seconds after the child is placed in the box. It is temperature-controlled, safe, and secure. The structure allows for mothers to safely and anonymously surrender their baby if they are incapable of caring for them. At least 25 babies have been placed in these Safe Haven boxes since the idea originated in 2008. The boxes allow mothers to avoid having a face-to-face interaction while placing their child for adoption, which could result in emotions such as shame and guilt. “While babies who are placed in safe haven boxes may never know their birth mother, all of them can be certain that there was someone who loved and cared for them enough to ensure that they had a chance to live,” Mary Szoch, director of the Center for Human Dignity at Family Research Council, told The Washington Stand.
