Citing White House's un-American Activities, 10 Senators cut off cooperation
|
|
Now, ten Republican senators announced on Friday that they are suspending all cooperative legislative efforts with Democrats, accusing the White House of engaging in actions that are “un-American” and making a “mockery” of the rule of law.
On Thursday, several Republican figures released strongly worded statements expressing their outrage and support for Trump following his guilty verdict.
Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene lambasted her colleagues for their inaction against the Democrats.
She wrote, “Republicans have done NOTHING to stop the Democrats from destroying our justice system and our freedoms. Many Republicans would just quote the Constitution as they are marched to the firing squad. When good men do nothing, evil prevails.”
On Friday, Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) echoed Greene’s sentiments, emphasizing the need for more than just verbal condemnation.
“Strongly worded statements are not enough,” Lee asserted on Friday. “Those who turned our judicial system into a political cudgel must be held accountable. We are no longer cooperating with any Democrat legislative priorities or nominations, and we invite all concerned Senators to join our stand.”
The defiant stance was formalized in a letter initially signed by eight Senators, including Mike Lee (R-UT), Tommy Tuberville (R-AL), Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), Roger Marshall (R-KS), JD Vance (R-OH), Eric Schmitt (R-MO), Rick Scott (R-FL), and Marco Rubio (R-FL).

Bragg Summoned by Congress to Explain "weaponization" of Justice

Well, that didn't take long.
Only hours after Manhattan prosecutor Alvin Bragg, a Democrat whose political agenda has been to "get" President Trump, saw a jury of far-left New Yorkers convict Trump of business record violations in a courtroom run by Juan Merchan, a judge whose family is fundraising millions off his courtroom rulings against Trump, he got an invitation from Congress to testify.
Before the "Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government."

US Secret Service Reacts to Trump's Criminal Conviction
|
|
The U.S. Secret Service on Friday said that the conviction of former President Donald Trump would have “no bearing” on whether the agency would protect him.
In a statement to The Epoch Times, the agency said that “today’s outcome has no bearing on the manner in which the United States Secret Service carries out its protective mission.”
While it did not elaborate or provide more details, the Secret Service added that “our security measures will proceed unchanged.”
The former president was convicted on felony charges for falsifying business records, and it is possible that he could see jail time during his July 11 sentencing date. Prosecutors have not indicated whether they would seek a prison term, while Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg declined to answer questions about the matter during a Thursday news conference.
The judge overseeing the trial, Juan Merchan, has also made no indication of how he will hand down President Trump’s sentence.
Several weeks ago, the Secret Service issued a similar statement to The Epoch Times regarding how it would handle the former president’s security if he were jailed, coming after Judge Merchan warned him that he would be prepared to send him to jail over comments that he said violated his earlier gag order.

1. Hezbollah rocket barrage forces over 100,000 Israelis into bomb shelters, injuring 2 people and causing fires and damage - All Israel News
The Lebanese terror organization Hezbollah carried out an almost non-stop bombardment of northern Israel on Sunday after the Israeli Air Force (IAF) struck a compound in Baalbek in northern Lebanon on Saturday evening in retaliation for Hezbollah shooting down an Israeli drone earlier that day.
The attacks on Sunday included about 40 rockets in several barrages, as well as numerous drone launches. According to reports, two Israelis were lightly injured in Kiryat Shmona, and numerous buildings across northern Israel were damaged, resulting in fires in the Golan Heights.
The day began with alarm sirens sounding across the Upper Galilee and Golan Heights. Israel Defense Forces later said they were activated due to drones that infiltrated Israeli territory and could not be intercepted. (Read more)

2. IAF retaliates in Lebanon after Hezbollah rocket hits northern base - World Israel News
Israel’s air force struck in Lebanon Saturday night after Hezbollah successfully damaged a northern base earlier in the day during a short barrage of UAV fire, Sky News in Arabic reported.
The IAF attacked in the Baalbek region deep into Lebanon, according to the report.
A Saudi outlet added that the targets were Hezbollah training centers and missile warehouses.
The IDF said its fighter jets hit “significant assets” belonging to the Iranian terror proxy. (Read more)

Israel forces on Sunday continued their “precise, intelligence-based targeted operations” in Gaza’s Rafah city, according to the Israel Defense Forces.

5. Gallant vows war won’t end until Hamas is destroyed; IDF advances further in Rafah - Times of Israel
Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said Sunday that Israel was working on finding a replacement for Hamas’s rule in the Gaza Strip, vowing that the war will not end until the terror group is dismantled of both its military and governmental capabilities.
“In any process of ending the war, we will not accept Hamas rule. We are advancing an alternative government to Hamas, within the framework of which we will isolate areas, remove the Hamas members and bring in other forces that will enable a different government,” Gallant said following an assessment at the Southern Command in Beersheba.
“On one hand, military action, and on the other, the ability to change the regime [in Gaza], will lead to the achievement of two of the goals of this war: the dismantling of the Hamas government and its military power, and the return of the hostages,” he added. (Read more)

1. SCOTUS Chief Justice John Roberts Rejects Democrats’ Demand for Meeting About Alito Flag Controversy- Breitbart
Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts rejected Democrats’ request on Thursday to have a meeting about flags raised at the properties of Justice Samuel Alito, pointing to “separation of powers concerns.”
Unable to expand the court with more liberal justices, Democrats have been casting doubt on Justice Alito’s ability to remain impartial after the New York Times published two stories showing an upside-down American flag and an Appeal to Heaven flag displayed in Alito’s front yard. The Times linked the flags to Trump supporters, “Stop the Steal,” and January 6 protesters who have more recently adopted those historic symbols.
Following the Times stories, Sens. Dick Durbin (D-IL) and Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) sent a letter to Chief Justice Roberts demanding Alito recuse himself from ongoing, high-stakes cases before the court related to former President Donald Trump and January 6. The Democrat senators claimed in their letter that the flags are evidence Alito “actively engaged in political activity, failed to avoid the appearance of impropriety, and failed to act in a manner that promotes public confidence in the impartiality of the judiciary,” and that he “created reasonable doubt about his impartiality and his ability to fairly discharge his duties in cases related to the 2020 presidential election and January 6th attack on the Capitol. 2. Judge aiming to take Trump 'out of the presidential race,' likely to issue jail time: Mark Penn - Fox News
Democratic pollster and former Clinton adviser Mark Penn said Friday during an appearance on Fox News Channel that he believes Judge Juan Merchan will sentence former President Donald Trump to serve some jail time because he's "trying to take him out of the presidential race."
"So far, this judge has wanted to take, obviously, wants to take Donald Trump out of the presidency," Penn said during an appearance on "Your World with Neil Cavuto" on Friday. "So, for all this talk that, of course, he's a first time offender and not eligible ... he's convicted of things that could send you to jail for 137 years. I think this judge is going to sentence him to some jail because he's trying to take him out of the presidential race."
Should Merchan sentence Trump to serve some time in jail, Penn said he believes the move will lead to "another record fundraising day" for the presumptive Republican nominee for president.
"Giving [Trump] a fine or community service isn't gonna do that. If he does that, I suppose Donald Trump will have another record fundraising day," he said.
Trump's sentencing hearing on the charges is scheduled for July 11, just days before the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Read more

3. Trump Campaign Announces Nearly $53 Million Raised in 24 Hours After Trump Conviction- Breitbart
Former President Donald Trump’s campaign announced on Friday that it had raised nearly $53 million in the 24 hours after Trump’s conviction by a New York jury.
Jurors in Trump’s business records trial found the former president guilty on all 34 counts related to payments made to adult entertainment star Stormy Daniels during the 2016 presidential election.
“In the 24 hours since Crooked Joe Biden and his New York henchmen got their sham trial verdict, the Trump Campaign has raised $52.8 million through the online digital fundraising platform,” the Trump campaign wrote. “THAT’S MORE THAN $2 MILLION PER HOUR!”
The Trump campaign added that over “one third” of these donations were from new donors. Read more

4. Traveler infected with confirmed case of measles at Seattle International Airport as cases in US increase - Fox News
The Public Health – Seattle & King County issued an alert after they were notified that an adult with a confirmed case of infectious measles traveled through Seattle-Tacoma International Airport after their travels in Europe.
The confirmed infection came after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued an alert to public health officials warning that the number of U.S. measles cases this year has already matched the entirety of 2023.
The Seattle & King County alert said that the infectious adult traveled through the international airport on May 10 and 11 and that the person's measle vaccination status was unclear.
Health officials said the individual resided in Arizona and likely picked up the infectious disease while in Europe. The agency did not specify which country or countries the individual traveled.
Health officials said the individual used the S Concourse (Gate S1) on May 10 between 5:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. They went through customs to the international arrivals facility baggage claim (Carousel 19). Read more

5. DeSantis: ‘Trump Hasn’t Lost His Voting Rights in Florida’- Breitbart
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) clarified on Friday that former President Donald Trump still has the right to vote in Florida elections despite a Manhattan jury finding him guilty on 34 counts that District Attorney Alvin Bragg has asserted are felonies.
“Former President Donald Trump hasn’t lost his voting rights in Florida. Rights are not removed in Florida where they haven’t yet been stripped in the convicting jurisdiction,” DeSantis explained in a post on X
“That said, given the absurd nature of the New York prosecution of Trump, this would be an easy case to qualify for restoration of rights per the Florida Clemency Board, which I chair,” DeSantis added.
“The bottom line is that Donald Trump’s vote this November will be one of millions that demonstrate Florida is now a solid Republican state!” the governor concluded in his post.
DeSantis’s clarification on Trump’s voting rights came after Democrats and left-wing activists hyped the 45th president as a “convicted felon” following a Manhattan jury finding him guilty on all 34 counts in his business records trial.
Many of the left-wing braggers echoed each other on social media with the claim that Trump would not be able to vote for himself in Florida in the upcoming 2024 presidential election. Read more

6. Blinken Says Ukraine Can Address Threats on ‘Russian Side of the Border’ With US Weapons
U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken signaled on Friday that President Joe Biden’s administration has ratcheted forward support for Ukrainian military activity to deal with threats inside Russia’s borders but offered few specifics about the changing rules of engagement.
Throughout the more than two years of large-scale fighting between Ukrainian and Russian forces, the Biden administration and other leaders of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) countries have gradually provided the Ukrainian side with more advanced and longer-ranged weapons systems, gradually considering and then reconsidering how much they can help the Ukrainians without escalating into an open conflict between NATO and a nuclear-armed Russia.
Until recently, NATO members have maintained a relative ban on Ukrainian forces using their donated weapons to strike across their eastern border into Russia’s internationally recognized territory. Those views have begun to shift amid a renewed Russian offensive in the Ukrainian border region of Kharkiv. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has increasingly asked his NATO backers to loosen the rules of engagement to allow his forces to strike inside Russia, and, in recent days, several leaders within the Western alliance have begun to relent.

Federal Judge Denies Jack Smith’s Request for Gag Order Against Trump
U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon on Tuesday denied a gag order request submitted by special counsel Jack Smith in former President Donald Trump’s classified documents case.
Over the past weekend, Mr. Smith’s team asked Judge Cannon to impose a gag order after President Trump had claimed that recently released discovery documents showed that the FBI agents were armed and were prepared to shoot him during the August 2022 search of his Mar-a-Lago property. The FBI last week, however, disputed those claims and said the documents merely suggested the agents were following bureau rules around search warrants.
In a paperless order, Judge Cannon denied Mr. Smith’s request without prejudice because, according to her, it is “wholly lacking in substance and professional courtesy.” She added that the special counsel’s motion also “did not adhere to ... basic requirements” and that “any future, non-emergency motion brought in this case—whether on the topic of release conditions or anything else—shall not be filed absent meaningful, timely, and professional conferral.”
“Sufficient time needs to be afforded to permit reasonable evaluation of the requested relief by opposing counsel and to allow for adequate follow-up discussion as necessary about the specific factual and legal basis underlying the motion,” Judge Cannon added.

We pray for her protection and continued honorable behavior, in Jesus' name. The saying “when the stars align” usually alludes to something fortuitous or lucky happening: You find your true love; you buy your dream home; you finally get that raise—when the stars align.
And if the planets aligned, what then? We will find out next month when six of the solar system’s planets—Jupiter, Mercury, Uranus, Mars, Neptune, and Saturn, in that order—form a ragged but rightfully legit alignment in the predawn sky.
On June 3, just 20 minutes before sunrise, your local time, the scene will have already risen above the horizon. Title 25,000 Flood Streets of Paris to March for Jesus, Many "Saved, Healed, Baptized in the Holy Spirit

Praise, prayer, and the Word of God filled the streets of Paris this weekend as more than 25,000 people participated in the March For Jesus in France. "If we want to touch the world, there is one condition: it is to love each other as Christ loved us," said Pastor Jean Luc Trachsel who delivered a message near the Eiffel Tower. The massive gathering of believers across Paris on May 25th reportedly broke record participation when attendees gathered together to "bear witness publicly and in unity" about their faith in Jesus Christ. A coalition of ministries organized the event which took place in Paris and four other cities including Lille, Nantes, Metz, and Strasbourg.
The organizers told EvangelicalFocus.com that the gathering "allowed Christians of all denominations to raise the name of Jesus above their theological differences. We opened ourselves to the entire evangelical Protestant spectrum thanks to the participation of several churches such as MLK, Hillsong, ICC, but also Baptist, charismatic, and more traditional Protestant churches. This is my role, as coordinator, to keep unity and unite around Jesus," Gilbert Léonian, the pastor in charge of the Paris march told the French outlet, InfoChretienne.com. According to the "March For Jesus France" website, the first such march took place in Paris in 1991 and was later organized in smaller cities. But this year's march in Paris broke its record with more than 25,000 participants, according to French authorities. Participation in the four other cities reached the thousands. (CBN)
