‘They’re Going to Challenge Us’: Marine Commandant Speaks on China Threat
China’s military would seek to prevent the United States from mobilizing its forces in the Pacific in the event that war broke out between the two countries, according to the highest-ranking officer of the Marine Corps.
“This competition is going to go on for a while, and we’re going to have to figure out a way through it long term,” said Gen. David Berger, commandant of the Marine Corps, during a talk at the Hudson Institute, a conservative think tank, in Washington on July 7. (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

US spending to counter Russian war effort exceeds first 5 years of war costs in Afghanistan
The Biden administration and lawmakers on both sides of the aisle have pledged to counter Russia’s war in Ukraine and the threat it poses to European security, and the funds so far committed to Kyiv already exceed U.S. costs for the first five years in Afghanistan.
The Biden administration on Friday announced another $400 million military drawdown package to Ukraine as it attempts to fend off Russian advances.
The latest package was reportedly tailored in coordination with Ukrainian officials for what they specifically need on the front lines and comes just days after Russian President Vladimir Putin claimed victory over the eastern Luhansk region.
Heavy artillery like howitzers and High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS) are among the big-ticket items that Ukraine has said it needs to target Russian command and control hotspots that sit behind the front lines. (Fox News) Read more here.

Iran, Russia, China To Run War Drills in Latin America
Iran, Russia, and China are gearing up to run a series of major war drills in Latin America in a show of force meant to signal how these militaries can reach the United States.
Venezuela, under the leadership of anti-U.S. socialist president Nicolás Maduro, is scheduled to host the war games in mid-August, according to a report by the Center for a Secure Free Society, a think tank that tracks malign regimes. Along with 10 other nations, Russia, China, and Iran will move their militaries into the Western Hemisphere for war drills that will "preposition forward-deployed military assets in Latin America and the Caribbean."
The war games, known as the Sniper Frontier competition, show that these malign regime from across the globe are uniting and "getting ready to make a loud statement that the region is ready to embrace the multipolar force," according to the think-tank report, which focuses on Latin America's embrace of authoritarian regimes. A key portion of Russia's "military is prepping to bring, for the first time, some of these military games to the Western Hemisphere"—even as Moscow is bogged down with war in Ukraine.
The war drills are one of the starkest signs to date that Latin America's coalition of anti-U.S. regimes is working to boost relations with Russia, China, and Iran. Maduro recently wrapped up a diplomatic tour of the Middle East in which he inked a 20-year strategic deal with Iran that laid the groundwork for an Iranian oil tanker to dock in Venezuela and offload Tehran's illicit crude. "The strategic deal between Iran and Venezuela is meant to mirror similar strategic agreements that the Islamic Republic signed with China and Russia in recent years," according to the think-tank report. 1. Israeli Defense Minister Gantz, Justice Minister Sa’ar Unveil New Electoral Union - Algemeiner
i24 News – Israel’s Defense Minister Benny Gantz and Justice Minister Gideon Sa’ar on Sunday signed an agreement to merge their parties and create the joint electoral list ahead of the upcoming elections.
Reports about the possible union between Gantz’s Blue and White party and Sa’ar’s New hope emerged earlier today. The two politicians made an official announcement during a press conference later in the evening, saying that they are “laying the cornerstone for the next government,” according to The Times of Israel.
“From the moment I entered into politics, I have repeatedly said that we are at an illogical and unprecedented situation,” Gantz was quoted as saying, referring to the ongoing political deadlock, which the defense minister called the “biggest democratic and political crisis in history.” (Read more)

2. Netanyahu: PLO flags in Tel Aviv show Lapid is giving up our sovereignty - Israel National News
Former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu criticized the left-wing Peace Now organization, which hung a huge sign on a building in central Tel Aviv with Israeli and PLO flags ahead of US President Joe Biden's visit to Israel on Wednesday.
Netanyahu said that "the hoisting of the Palestinian Authority flag in the heart of Tel Aviv is another expression of the loss of sovereignty and the violation of our national dignity under the Lapid government. Only the Likud can form a national government that will restore the flying of the Israeli flags."
The Peace Now sign features the Israeli flag next to a Palestine Liberation Organization flag, and reads: "President Biden, welcome to the two states we love most." (Read more)

3. Palestinians organizing protest against Biden during visit - World Israel News
Palestinians are calling for a protest in Ramallah on Thursday to express “rejection of [U.S. President Joe] Biden’s humiliating policies towards the Palestinian issue” and Washington’s “blatant bias” in favor of Israel, the Jerusalem Post reported on Monday.
According to the Post, the protest will be held in Ramallah’s Manara Square the same day as Biden arrives in the Palestinian city.
The Fatah officials told the paper that Palestinians have no expectations of any significant developments stemming from Biden’s visits to Ramallah and Bethlehem. Washington’s efforts to establish an alliance against Tehran are expected to dominate the President’s agenda. (Read more)

4. 'Caustic and demonizing': Jewish groups denounce PCUSA calling Israel an ‘apartheid’ state - Christian Post
Jewish organizations in the United States have denounced the Presbyterian Church (USA)'s recent passage of a resolution labeling Israel's treatment of Palestinians an "apartheid."
Last Friday, delegates at the PC(USA) General Assembly voted 266-116 to pass an overture that claimed that Israel was an apartheid state due to its treatment of the Palestinian territories.
Rabbi Eric J. Greenberg of the Los Angeles-based Jewish human rights organization Simon Wiesenthal Center claims that the largest Presbyterian denomination in the U.S. is bearing false witness.
"PCUSA leadership has violated G-d's commandment not to bear false witness, rendered itself irrelevant in the world of peacemaking, and made a mockery of honest dialogue and interfaith relations," Greenberg said in a statement shortly after the vote, (Read more)

5. ‘Stereotypes shattered’: Delegation of young European Muslims visits Israel - JNS
(July 11, 2022 / Israel Hayom)Eighteen-year-old Sofia Swidi, a Belgian Muslim living in the suburbs of Brussels, visited Israel this week, and found that none of what she had heard about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict back home corresponded to the reality on the ground.
“What we see in our media is Israeli soldiers with rifles beating Palestinians. The other day we went on a tour of Jerusalem and I happened to see an Israeli soldier at the bus stop, and she looked like a regular person, just in uniform. She was very sweet, like any other girl, no matter where you come from or your religion,” she said.
Sofia lives in Molenbeek, one of the municipalities that has become known as a place of refuge for extremist Muslims. Its members have perpetrated terror attacks in Belgium and other European countries. (Read more)

1. Texas man allegedly tells Cruz he'll murder Republicans with 'a brick in your skull,' court frees him on bond - Fox News
A man in the Houston area of Texas was charged with making threats against Sen. Ted Cruz but remains at large after a court let him free on a personal recognizance bond. Isaac Nformangum, 22, is wanted by police for allegedly making a series of threatening remarks to Cruz over the telephone.
The local district attorney released transcripts of the calls, in which Nformangum accuses Republicans of planning to take away his right to vote. "Hello and good afternoon Senator Rafael. This is one of the many Afro-American constituents of whom you are representative of here in Texas, as you currently serve from the Senate," the man said in the phone call
"I have just read the, uh, Texas Republican Party's platform for this current 2022 year, uh, wherein it is apparent that your many colleagues intend … intend to have the voting right acts repealed and not reauthorized?"
The call quickly turned darker after Nformangum began a diatribe allegedly threatening to murder Republican lawmakers for perceived persecution.
"Every last one of your Republican colleagues to have signed off on that platform is to be found, and is to be found and killed, be it by a bullet to the face or by the smashing of a brick in your skull," Nformangum continued.
"It is a civic duty of every American citizen or resident to see to it that every last one of your colleagues is to be killed. Killed. Be it by finding you in a public space or by trailing you to your very, by your very public homes." (Read more)

4. Meet The Man Orchestrating The Endless Torrent Of Migrant Caravans Heading Toward The Border - The Daily Caller
The leader of recent migrant caravans has helped bring thousands of people through Mexico on a mission he says is driven by God, he told the Daily Caller News Foundation.
Luis Rey Garcia Villagran told the DCNF that he’s directly helped 40,000 migrants cross into the United States through caravans he’s led since September 2021, believing it’s his duty to God. He’s done so through the work of his organization, the Center for Human Dignity.
“We are Evangelical Christians. We try to help people least protected, especially women and child migrants. Simply, we apply what is in the law,” Villagran said, adding that he doesn’t receive any financing from anyone for the caravans.
Villagran’s latest group started to gain attention when thousands of migrants reached Southern Mexico in early June. Some members of the caravan were granted work visas by the Mexican government, while others trekked northward with many expected to arrive in Texas, according to The Washington Examiner.
Republican Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said on June 17 that the caravans were disbanding into smaller factions, heading to his state’s border with Mexico. Some reporters on the ground have documented large migrant groups recently making their way to places like Eagle Pass, Texas. (Read more)

5. Biden Admin Funnels Taxpayer Dollars Into ‘Programming Curriculum’ For Transgender Inmates - The Daily Caller
The Department of Justice invested almost $1.5 million of taxpayer dollars into a “transgender programming curriculum” focused on transgender inmates’ needs.
The curriculum is designed to help transgender inmates with their gender “identity,” sexual health and safety, according to a summary of the government contract. Though it’s unclear if the curriculum has been implemented, the program could be available for up to 1,200 transgender inmates, according to Justice Department estimates.
The program helps inmates receive new identification documents and hormonal treatment, the statement of work for the program reads. Safe housing options within the prison will also be made available to transgender inmates.

6. Biden Likely to Extend, Expand Amnesty for Half a Million Venezuelans - Breitbart.com
President Joe Biden’s deputies may soon declare a quasi-amnesty for the roughly 250,000 wage-cutting Venezualan economic migrants they have welcomed over the border since March 2021, according to a report in Politico.
The quasi-amnesty is called Temporary Protective Status (TPS). It now grants temporary residency and work permits — and even a backdoor route to citizenship. Roughly 700,000 migrants from favored countries — including about 300,000 Venezuelans who arrived before March 2021 — now have TPS status.
The expanded TPS giveaway is being considered for about 250,000 Venezuelan migrants who arrived after March 2021, even as millions of American men have been pushed out of the workforce since 2000.
The TPS giveaway is just one of many border gateways that Biden’s deputies have opened since January 2021 to at least 1.5 million migrants, including migrants from Cuba, Haiti, Afghanistan, Ukraine, South America, and Africa. The TPS status is rarely canceled. Pro-migration judges blocked TPS cancellations ordered by President Donald Trump. (Read more)

7. US charges two Homeland Security workers in Chinese spying scheme - The Jerusalem Post
US prosecutors charged two men tied to the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) as part of what federal law enforcement officials have called a "transnational repression scheme" on behalf of the Chinese government to spy on and harass dissidents living in the United States.
The two charged were Craig Miller, who has worked as a DHS deportation officer for 15 years in Minnesota, and Derrick Taylor, a retired DHS law enforcement agent now working as a private investigator in California, the US Department of Justice said on Thursday.
On Wednesday, a grand jury returned an indictment charging the two men and three others with crimes committed while acting as alleged Chinese agents, the department said in a statement. (Read more)

8. Zoning Officials Threaten Churches With Fines For Providing Charity - The Daily Caller
Zoning officials in Pottstown, Pennsylvania told two churches in early June they will face fines if they continue to provide free meal services, mental health counseling and monthly pantries, WHYY reported.
Mission First and Christ Episcopal—both located in Montgomery County—received citations from the Pottstown Borough for violating the zoning code’s definition of a “church,” WHYY reported.
“I am writing this letter with compassion for those affected by the COVID pandemic and with gratitude to residents who’ve provided aid to those in need throughout that period,” Pottstown Zoning Officer Winter Stokes wrote in a letter to one of the churches which was obtained by WHYY. “However, as the Zoning Officer, I must enforce the zoning code.”
In the letter, Stokes wrote that mental health counseling is considered a “Social Service Provider” and that he could not find approvals for the other services. He also said the definition of a church is a place where people “assemble regularly for religious worship” and that these churches are “more than that.” (Read more)

9. Pompeo blasts Pentagon as 40,000 unvaccinated guardsmen barred: Putin and Xi 'aren't worried about vaccines' - Fox News
Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin was criticized Friday after reports said his mandate for servicemembers to be vaccinated for coronavirus will lead to 40,000 guardsmen and 22,000 reservists being barred from service while seeing their benefits slashed.
Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo told Fox News it is another example of the United States' defense being weakened under the Biden administration, as chief rivals China and Russia are only bolstering their corps, not hindering them.
Pompeo said the military is already facing recruitment problems under Austin, a former Raytheon executive and retired general. (Read more)

10. ShutDownDC Promises To Pay Tipsters For SCOTUS Whereabouts - The Daily Wire
ShutDownDC announced on Friday that organizers would pay anyone who could tip protesters off to the locations of the conservative Supreme Court justices — and the price increased if they were still at the named location 30 minutes later.
The call for tips went out after news broke that Justice Brett Kavanaugh had been forced to leave Morton’s Steak House in Washington, D.C., through a rear exit in order to avoid a crowd of protesters gathered outside the restaurant.
“DC Service Industry Workers… If you see Kavanaugh, Alito, Thomas, Gorsuch, Coney Barrett or Roberts DM us with the details! We’ll venmo you $50 for a confirmed sighting and $200 if they’re still there 30 mins after your message,” @ShutDown_DC’s tweet read.

11. Biden bogeyman: White House escalates attacks on Supreme Court over abortion - Washington Examiner
President Joe Biden and his White House aides are increasingly venting their frustrations with the Supreme Court for overturning Roe v. Wade, putting the decision on the ballot in the midterm elections.
But the condemnations, at odds with Biden's reputation for defending institutions, cements a precedent for politicizing the highest court in the land when he promised to encourage unity and a return to civility if elected.
The Supreme Court's authority is eroded by the perception it is influenced by politics, according to Catholic University of America professor Matthew Green.
"When elected officials criticize the court, there is the possibility of damaging the court's reputation, which may, in turn, undermine citizens' faith in the rule of law," he told the Washington Examiner.
Until recently, the Supreme Court was one of the few government institutions the public trusted, Green said. Yet Biden is not the first leader to denounce the court, the politics professor added, citing former President Barack Obama's 2010 State of the Union address in which he disparaged Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission. Obama's complaints prompted Justice Samuel Alito, the author of last month's Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization majority opinion, to shake his head and say, "Not true." (Read more)

12. Maryland authorities investigating fires, vandalism at multiple Bethesda churches - Fox News
Two churches were set on fire and a third was vandalized in Bethesda, Maryland, this weekend, authorities said.
Around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday morning, authorities were called to North Bethesda United Methodist Church about vandalism and arson, Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service spokesman Pete Piringer said.
About 1,000 feet away, investigators also found damaged headstones and "broken wood pieces" scattered around Wildwood Baptist Church.
Then on Sunday morning, Montgomery County fire officials were called to Saint Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church, where several pews had been set on fire.

The Biden Oil Debacle

There is much more to Joe Biden’s emptying of the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) than what the news media and his failing administration is letting on. While everyone is focused on just the record high prices of gasoline at the pump, they are failing to report the greater dangers at hand for the American public: food availability, consumer goods, and military readiness. Pump prices are just the tip of the iceberg because the prices of most everything people consume are tied to the rise in oil costs. The Biden energy policy is weakening the ability of the US to defend itself if a greater war breaks out by exporting oil overseas, even to China. And Hunter Biden’s name is once again associated with corruption.
Having said that, it is now revealed that under the guise of easing the record increases in gasoline prices at the pump “in response to Vladimir Putin’s war of choice against Ukraine,” the Department of Energy announced in April that it was selling “1 million barrels per day from the SPR for the next six months.” Reuters reports that this action “is draining the SPR, which last month fell to the lowest since 1986. U.S. crude futures are above $100 per barrel and gasoline and diesel prices above $5 a gallon in one-fifth of the nation.” Reuters also reported on July 5th that “More than 5 million barrels of oil that were part of a historic U.S. emergency reserves release to lower domestic fuel prices were exported to Europe and Asia last month, according to data and sources, even as U.S. gasoline and diesel prices hit record highs.” Read More

Leftists' Racist Abortion Meltdown

If Republicans attacked Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson like Democrats are attacking Justice Clarence Thomas the media and Hollywood would be screaming racism. As it is, they are trying to portray their attacks on Thomas as justified because he is a conservative married to an alt-right white wife. But the veneer of non-racism is thin and the tone of the wood beneath bubbles to the top when people like former Star Trek actor turned gay activist George Takei said of Thomas, “He is a clown in blackface sitting on the Supreme Court.” Then Takei tried to downplay what he said by explaining that the use of the term “Blackface” in theater lingo is not racist, but rather “part of a racist history in this country.” Really?
Angry Black man, they say. The Federalist wrote a July 5 story about why the “racist left” smears Clarence Thomas as an “Angry Black Man.” The article begins with examples: “Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas is “a person of grievance” harboring “resentment, [and] anger,” reported no less an authority than Hillary Clinton during an appearance last week on CBS. In ignoring Thomas’s ideas to smear his temperament, Clinton pulled from the same playbook leftists have been using against Thomas since even before his 1991 confirmation hearings. The New York Times once called Thomas the Supreme Court’s “youngest and angriest.” Times columnist Frank Rich accused him of “rage” and “unreconstructed racial bitterness.”” Read More

'Snow King' Blizzard, Arctic outbreak still unmatched

One of the worst blizzards in U.S. history is not only infamous for unloading nearly a yard of snow in the mid-Atlantic, but extreme cold that has yet to be repeated, including sub-zero temperatures in Florida.
Nor'easters, bomb cyclones and blizzards are some of the words used to describe powerful East Coast snowstorms, but more than a century ago, a storm of colossal proportions blasted the region and solidified its place in history as the Snow King.
The Snow King, also known as the Great Blizzard of 1899, embodied the term "historic" with snowfall totals and extremely low temperatures that are still etched in record books across the country to this day.
The predecessor of the National Weather Service, the Weather Bureau, called it "a snowstorm of unprecedented severity in the Middle Atlantic States" that was accompanied by "a freeze that for duration and severity stands unparalleled."
The everyday life in America when the storm hit was significantly different than it is today with the 1899 blizzard arriving four years before the Wright Brothers took flight at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, and nine years before the Ford Model T was manufactured for the masses. Read More

'Thanking God': Mississippi's Last Abortion Clinic Closes as Trigger Law Takes Effect

Mississippi's lone abortion clinic closed its doors last week ahead of the state's near-abortion ban taking effect. WLBT News reports that the Jackson Women's Health Organization, also known as the "Pink House," shut down Wednesday - one day before Mississippi's trigger law kicked in. The trigger law bans all abortions performed surgically or chemically, with exceptions for pregnancies due to rape and if the mother's life is at risk. Rape victims are required to report the incident to police. "As we proceed in this post-Roe world, the people of Mississippi and of all the states will be able to fully engage in the work of both empowering women and promoting life. I am grateful that the Court has given us this opportunity," said Attorney General Lynn Fitch.
Protestors on both sides of the conflict stood outside of the abortion clinic on its final day of operation. "Unfortunately, I had an abortion 31 years ago," shared Regina Minga. "And so I thought it would just go away, and it hasn't, and it's gotten more and more real. And so my heart hurts. So, I've just come here, just thanking God that maybe no more mamas, or babies and even the dads go through this regret because death is final. And you're just not ready for that." Gov. Tate Reeves (R-MS) celebrated the closing, tweeting, "Today we wake up in a state where the church doors are open and the abortion clinic's doors are closed. All the Glory to God the Father! Amen!"
