Court Orders Hawaii to Allow Good News Clubs at Every Public School
|
|
The Christian youth organization responsible for Good News Clubs in public schools around the country is celebrating its win in a long-fought battle to ensure equal access to classroom facilities. Liberty Counsel, the Christian legal advocacy firm representing Child Evangelism Fellowship, announced in late November its client received a permanent statewide injunction, allowing the Good News Clubs — a weekly extracurricular gathering during which 5- to 12-year-old kids learn Bible lessons, recite memory verses, sing praise songs, and play games — to operate in every school district in Hawaii. “This is a welcomed win not only for CEF Hawaii but for all Christian groups in the public square,” Fred Pry, acting vice president of administration for CEF, told The Christian Post. “The Constitution is crystal clear that the government cannot discriminate on the basis of religion or free speech.”
As a result of the injunction, Good News Clubs will have the same access to school facilities as any other group. In January, Liberty Counsel filed a lawsuit against Aloha State education officials after four school districts on the islands blocked the Christian clubs from meeting on public campuses. In the legal complaint, attorneys argued that, by affording school access to secular groups while prohibiting faith-based meetings, district officials were violating the First and 14th Amendments to the U.S. Constitution. The CEF received a preliminary injunction over the summer, ordering the Hawaii Department of Education as well as the six elementary schools named in the complaint to allow — just like any other club — the Good News Clubs to meet on school property. Then, on Nov. 19, a broader permanent injunction ensured the clubs have the right to meet on any public school campus in Hawaii. Amidst its success in Hawaii, Liberty Counsel announced it is “preparing another lawsuit against a school district in California.” Attorneys said, “In that district, every view is welcome — except for the Christian club.” (Faithwire) Read More Here

Mystery Drones Over New Jersey Are Hot Topic at Hearing on Capitol Hill
|

|
An FBI assistant director says they have been unable to determine who or what is behind the large drones that have been puzzling New Jersey residents and officials for months.
Members of Congress are raising concerns about the mystery drones that have been spotted flying above New Jersey in recent weeks, as the aircraft of unknown origin are flying in close proximity to a military base and the president-elect’s golf club.
During a homeland security subcommittee hearing on Tuesday, the assistant director of the FBI’s critical incident response group, Robert Wheeler, says the FBI is working on their investigation with the Department of Homeland Security and local law enforcement partners. The drones started appearing above New Jersey in mid-November.
Mr. Wheeler described the drones as being above or near “sensitive sites and areas of concern,” including over Picatinny Arsenal in Morris County, New Jersey.
“We do not contribute that to an individual or a group yet,” Mr. Wheeler told subcommittee members. “We’re actively investigating.”
Another person who testified on Tuesday was the deputy executive assistant commissioner of air and marine operations for U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Keith Jones. He said that the appearance of these drones should give everyone cause for concern, given that he has seen cartels and human traffickers use them on the southern border for reconnaissance.
The U.S. Army has denied that the drones could be military equipment. Some had speculated that due to the large size of the drones and their proximity to the arsenal could mean that they were controlled by the government.
In a statement to the NJ Advance, the Army confirmed they were also unaware of the drones’ origin. “While the source and cause of these aircraft operating in our area remain unknown, we can confirm that they are not the result of any Picatinny Arsenal-related activities,” said the arsenal’s commander, Lieutenant Colonel Craig Bonham.
The arsenal further said they have had 11 confirmed sightings of the mystery drones over the course of the last month.
Governor Murphy rang the alarm bell on the drones on Tuesday, saying that he was taking the potential threat “deadly seriously.”
“The minute you get eyes on them, they go dark. And, you know, we’re obviously most concerned about sensitive targets and sensitive, critical infrastructure. We’ve got military assets, we’ve got utility assets, we’ve got the president-elect’s, one of his homes, here. This is something we’re taking deadly seriously,” Mr. Murphy told reporters. Multiple New Jersey mayors express urgent concerns after drone sightings
Multiple New Jersey counties have reported large drone sightings, including 11 confirmed sightings at an Army facility in Morris County, New Jersey.
A New Jersey state senator is calling for a limited state of emergency over the mysterious drones that have been seen flying over New Jersey in recent weeks.
"The State of New Jersey should issue a limited state of emergency banning all drones until the public receives an explanation regarding these multiple sightings," Republican state Sen. Jon Bramnick said in a statement Tuesday.
The call came amid numerous recent drone sightings reported across New Jersey in recent weeks. The drones are larger than the type typically used by hobbyists, officials and eyewitnesses have said. (ABC News) Read more here.

Florida Introduces Bill to Ban 'Weather Modification'
|
|
Florida State Senator Ileana Garcia has introduced legislation to prohibit weather modification activities in the Sunshine State.
The bill was filed on November 20 by Garcia, a Republican who has served in the Florida State Senate since 2020.
The "Weather Modification Activities" bill sets out that "the injection, release, or dispersion, by any means, of a chemical, a chemical compound, a substance, or an apparatus into the atmosphere within the borders of this state for the express purpose of affecting the temperature, the weather, or the intensity of sunlight is prohibited."
As per the bill, any individual or corporation that commits a weather modification in violation of the bill will be charged with a second-degree misdemeanor and charged up to $10,000. Each individual violation will count as a separate offense.
In addition to preventative measures, the bill also states that the governor of Florida should on a continuing basis "consider steps that could be taken to mitigate the harmful consequences of emergencies."

Massad Boulos, Trump’s new Middle East adviser, touts roadmap to Palestinian state

Massad Boulos, President-elect Donald Trump’s advisor on Middle Eastern and Arab affairs, said that the United States would have to discuss laying out a “roadmap” to Palestinian statehood if it hopes to establish relations between Israel and Saudi Arabia.
Saudi officials have long made it known that they would not establish ties with Israel absent progress toward a Palestinian state. But for Boulos — a Lebanese-American billionaire and the father-in-law of Trump’s daughter Tiffany — to emphasize the point is significant because other Trump appointees, in addition to Trump himself, are seen as close to the Israeli right, which rejects Palestinian statehood.
“I think the issue of a roadmap that would lead to a Palestinian state is an important part of the discussions between the United States and Saudi Arabia,” Boulos said in a wide-ranging interview last week with Le Point, a French magazine. “It is certainly a very important point.” (Jerusalem Post) Read more.

Heavenly Father. We pray for our incoming President and his administration. We pray for many things, but concerning Israel, we fervently pray that he will neither cause nor support the division of Your land and the dislocation of Your Heritage—Israel -- from the dwelling place You promised to the descendants of Abraham and that You have chosen as Your Holy City and earthly Kingdom. Israel’s right to this land is by a covenant promise, a marriage to her people. We read, “You shall no longer be termed Forsaken, Nor shall your land any more be termed Desolate; But you shall be called Hephzibah, and your land Beulah; For the Lord delights in you, And your land shall be married” (Isaiah 62:4). 1. 'Post' visits Syria in first Israeli media visit since 1974 - Jerusalem Post
The Jerusalem Post, on Wednesday, participated in a dramatic visit to an abandoned Syrian base at Tel Kudne in southern Syria, embedded with the IDF, as part of the first Israeli media visit to that country since the 1973-4 Yom Kippur War and armistice.
To the Post’s best knowledge, the last time an affiliated reporter visited Syria, was Abraham Rabinowitz, who visited multiple times between the end of the 1973 Yom Kippur War and the 1974 armistice.
Standing on the top of Tel Kudne, which was the site of an intense battle during the 1973 War, the Post was able to see nearby the village of Kudne below as well as the village of Jaba, and other Syrian villages and hills deeper into the distance. (Read more)

2. Hospital declares death of young boy wounded in West Bank terror shooting - Times of Israel
Hadassah Hospital Ein Kerem in Jerusalem announces a young boy has died of wounds he suffered in a terror shooting on an Israeli bus traveling on a West Bank highway.
A statement from the hospital says the child was brought to the trauma unit in critical condition, with doctors forced to declare his death after intensive efforts to save him.
The terror victim, who has yet to be named, was earlier identified by the Magen David Adom ambulance service as a 12-year-old boy. (Read more)

3. 'Hamas hands hostage list to Egypt - JNS
The Hamas terrorist group in Gaza has given Egyptian authorities a list of hostages it is holding as interlocuters continue to push for a ceasefire agreement, the Saudi-based Al-Arabiya channel reported on Tuesday.
The list included names of Israeli hostages who are ill and elderly and should be included in an exchange deal, Al-Araby Al-Jadeed reported. Hamas also provided a list of terrorists it wants Israel to release.
An Israeli delegation that arrived in Cairo after the Hamas delegation had left the Egyptian capital was then given a list of 30 hostages who would be released during an initial 60-day ceasefire, the Hezbollah-affiliated Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar reported.
The 30 Israeli captives meet the established humanitarian criteria, including adults over 50 years of age who suffer from serious medical conditions, Channel 13 reported, adding that the identities of the remaining hostages to be freed would be agreed on between the two parties during the two-month ceasefire period, on condition that Israel does not attack Hamas in Gaza and that the terrorist group does not attack Israeli forces positioned in the Strip. 4. Gaza terrorists fire four rockets at southern Israel - World Israel News
Palestinian terrorists in the Gaza Strip fired four rockets at southern Israel on Wednesday morning, setting off sirens in several towns and villages along the border.
The Israel Defense Forces intercepted two of the rockets, with the others impacting in open areas, causing no damage.
The IDF’s year-plus-long offensive in Gaza has greatly curbed rocket fire from the Strip, although terrorists in the enclave still intermittently target the Jewish state.
Last week, the Israeli Air Force intercepted one rocket fired from the northern Gaza Strip.

5. Spanish Far-Left Leader Accuses Israel of ‘Genocide’ — in Syria - Algemeiner
The leader of an influential far-left Spanish political party who recently served as a government minister appears to have accused Israel of “genocide” in Syria following the collapse of Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad’s regime this past weekend.
“Israel is taking advantage of the instability in Syria to advance its colonial and genocidal plan, bombing several areas, including Damascus,” Ione Belarra posted on X/Twitter on Tuesday. “Virtually no Western media outlets are reporting on it. International inaction in the face of genocide endangers humanity as a whole.”
Belarra, who served as Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez’s social rights minister between 2021 and 2023 but is no longer in the governing coalition, is now secretary general of the Spanish hard-left party Podemos (“We Can”).
The politician appeared to be referencing Israeli military operations this week to eliminate much of Syria’s strategic weapons arsenal and secure the buffer zone along Israel’s northeastern border amid uncertainty about the future of Syria. (Read more)

1. Supreme Court Ruling Could Close Major Immigration Loophole, Cause Massive Shake-Up - Daily Caller
The Supreme Court ruled Tuesday that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) secretary has broad authority to revoke visa petitions without judicial review.
In a decision on Bourfa v. Mayorkas, the court unanimously affirmed the secretary’s discretion to cancel approved immigration petitions “for what he deems to be good and sufficient cause” under 8 United States Code (USC) §1155, with Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson delivering the court’s opinion.
The case involved Amina Bourfa, who applied in 2015 to sponsor her husband, Palestinian national Ala’a Hamayel, for legal permanent U.S. residency. U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) initially approved the request but revoked it in 2017 after discovering Hamayel had previously paid $5,000 to his ex-wife to facilitate his visa process, the court opinion reads. 2. Biden DOJ, FBI Offered ‘Limited Cooperation,’ Failed To Provide Key Docs To Trump Assassination Attempt Task Force - Daily Caller
The Department of Justice and FBI provided only “limited cooperation” to the House task force investigating assassination attempts against President-elect Donald Trump, according to the task force’s final report.
Among recommendations offered in the final report, which include reconsidering whether the Secret Service should remain within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and limiting protection for foreign leaders, the task force wrote that Congress needs to “clarify its right” to obtain information related to law enforcement investigations.
“With respect to the assassination attempt in Florida, where the gunman was apprehended alive and awaits a likely prosecution, the FBI provided no documents in response to the Task Force’s request and provided only a single status briefing on September 25, 2024.” (Read more)

3. 'Deeply Troubling’: Schumer Looks To Cement Biden-Harris Labor Agenda Deep Into Trump’s Admin - Daily Caller
Senate Democrats are racing to cement President Joe Biden’s labor agenda with a vote on a controversial nominee slated to occur later this week. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer moved to expedite National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) chair Lauren McFerran’s nomination for a second term Monday evening with a procedural vote likely to be scheduled for Wednesday.
If McFerran clears the procedural vote hurdle and a majority of senators vote in support of McFerran’s renomination, Democrats will secure a majority on the five-person NLRB until 2026, preventing President-elect Donald Trump from selecting his own pick as chair.
The NLRB is an independent federal agency that resolves labor disputes and oversees elections in workplaces attempting to unionize. Republicans have sharply criticized the NLRB under McFerran’s leadership over allegations of “misconduct” in administering secret ballot elections and the board’s attempts to increase union activism in private sector workplaces. 4. GOP senator introduces 'STOP Act' to ban trans procedures for minors, fine doctors up to $100K - Christian Post
Sen. Roger Marshall, R-Kan., recently introduced a bill in Congress that would outlaw trans procedures for minors and punish the doctors who perform them with civil penalties of up to $100,000.
The Safeguarding The Overall Protection of Minors Act or "STOP Act," which Marshall introduced Wednesday, will prohibit sex-change procedures from being performed on minors and authorize the secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services to impose civil penalties on persons who "knowingly perform, attempt to perform, conspire to perform, or provide a referral for any gender transition procedure on a minor,” according to the text of the proposed legislation.
The bill would also allow people who have been subjected to trans procedures as minors the right to sue if they come to regret their decision. It would also empower the attorney general to establish a grant program to assist those seeking to reverse the effects of such procedures. (Read more)

5. Vance tours Helene damage in North Carolina - News Nation
Vice President-elect JD Vance on Friday surveyed damage from Hurricane Helene and talked to first responders in western North Carolina in one of his first public appearances since the November election.
The hurricane struck in late September and caused at least $53 billion in damage in North Carolina, according to a state government estimate. More than 100 North Carolina residents died from the storm, which the state estimates damaged more than 120,000 homes, at least 6,000 miles of roads and over 160 sewer and water systems.
The incoming vice president and his wife, Usha, visited the Fairview Volunteer Fire Department, where he learned that the building flooded with 4 to 6 inches of water and that roughly a dozen people got walking pneumonia as they responded to the hurricane’s destruction. Stupidocrisy: A Pardon By Any Other Name

There has been much discussion about Joe Biden pardoning his son Hunter for any crime that he committed whether he was convicted or not. The ensuing outrage is understandable, but this abuse of the presidential power of pardons is not unique. In recent history, many presidents have abused the Constitutional provision for pardons, most notably Gerald Ford when he pardoned Richard Nixon for crimes of which Nixon was neither charged nor convicted. Biden’s pardon of his son, however, goes beyond abuse of the Constitutional provision and extends into a collateral admission of the Democratic Party’s ongoing organized crime against the American people.
Article II, Section 2 of the Constitution declares: “The President shall be Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the Militia of the several States, when called into the actual Service of the United States; he may require the Opinion, in writing, of the principal Officer in each of the executive Departments, upon any Subject relating to the Duties of their respective Offices, and he shall have Power to grant Reprieves and Pardons for Offences against the United States, except in Cases of Impeachment.” This power of pardon is very broad and has been tested in the Supreme Court. The Ex parte Garland case of 1886 established that the president’s power to pardon is essentially unlimited, and can be exercised before or during legal proceedings, or after conviction and judgment. Biden's Eleventh Hour Plans

The 2024 election is over, and many prayer warriors are breathing a sigh of relief. However, as members of the Biden Administration prepare to hand the reins to President Trump, some wonder how many eleventh-hour plans they can accomplish before exiting the White House.
President Trump will not take office until January 20, 2025, and this gives the Biden Administration a window of opportunity to sign executive orders and implement policies in what’s been dubbed a “sprint to the finish.” A recent CNN article reported that Biden “will direct his Cabinet to get as much work done as possible–whether that’s moving funding out the door, announcing new programs and policies, or delivering on programs and policies we have already announced.”

Intercessory prayer is critical in addressing the looming threats of digital ID/vaccine passports and the release of “novel” vaccines.
- Pray that any last-minute plans of the Biden Administration to launch digital ID and/or vaccine passports are stopped immediately. Pray that the executive order in process will fall to pieces.
- Pray that Big Pharma projects, such as new mRNA vaccines or vaccine patches, would be halted.
- Pray that the WHO’s Pandemic Treaty and IHR amendments would be scattered to the four winds as countries and their citizens rise up and speak out against schemes of global control.
- Pray that the United States will exit the WHO and sever ties with the United Nations. (President Trump began the process to exit the WHO when he was in office, so pray that he is successful in securing a full withdrawal when he is back in the White House.)
- Pray that people will not be overcome by a spirit of fear when it comes to pandemics and that God will protect our medical freedoms, as well as our national sovereignty.

Johnson Wows with Anti-Woke Wins in NDAA Compromise

At 1,813 pages, the latest version of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) isn’t exactly light reading, but the fact that Congress has a bipartisan bill at all is as close as it gets to a Christmas miracle. While the proposal’s been on the front-burner of most leaders’ priorities, no one was quite sure if the two sides would be able to hammer out a deal before the holidays. In the end, they not only managed to agree on the text, but conservatives won a string of victories in the process.
It’s a shocking departure from the Senate version of the NDAA, which Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) had threatened to stand by if House Republicans insisted on some of their hard-fought policy wins. But, in the first real sign that Democrats are waking up to Americans’ election mandate, the legislation that dropped Saturday takes a sincere stab at some of the worst forms of military wokeness.
While the bill isn’t perfect, Family Research Council’s Quena Gonzalez stressed, conservatives can celebrate three major gains. Thanks to outspoken Republicans like Senator Josh Hawley (R-Mo.), the latest version of the NDAA strips out the language that would have drafted American women into the military against their will, which, as far as Rep. Chip Roy (R-Texas) was concerned, was “a hill to die on.”
Other hugely significant changes included the first statute protecting minors from gender transitions in federal law. Under this latest NDAA text, American taxpayers will no longer be forced to fund the hormones, puberty-blockers, and gender mutilation surgeries for the troops’ minor children. “The fact that Democrats didn’t burn down the Senate over this is remarkable,” Gonzalez emphasized. But again, it “points to the weakness of this issue in the electorate.” It also suggests that the once-powerful Human Rights Campaign (HRC) is losing its grip on Joe Biden’s party. Trump Could Finally Put One Of Immigration’s Thorniest Issues To Rest

President-elect Donald Trump’s push to end birthright citizenship for those born on U.S. soil by illegal migrant parents could put to rest a hot-button constitutional debate that’s loomed over the country for decades.
The incoming president has repeatedly vowed to end birthright citizenship immediately upon entering office, one of the more ambitious agenda items within his immigration enforcement platform. While the proposal has divided border hawks and immigration advocates, both sides generally agree the debate boils down to interpretation of the 14th Amendment, the conclusion of which will likely fall to the Supreme Court.
“Our position is that the 14th Amendment gives citizenship at birth only to those born in the United States to parents who were residing here with the permission of the United States,” Christopher Hajec, director of litigation for the Immigration Reform Law Institute (IRLI), a Washington, D.C.-based organization that advocates for stricter immigration laws, said to the Daily Caller News Foundation. “That was the holding of the Supreme Court in Wong Kim Ark v. United States, a case that is still controlling.”
“The Court reasoned that only those residing here with permission met the requirement in the 14th Amendment of being ‘subject to the jurisdiction’ of the United States,” Hajec continued. “Under this rule, children of illegal aliens (who do not reside here with permission) or children of tourists (who do not reside here, but are only visiting) are not citizens by virtue of their birth here.” (Daily Caller) Read more here.

Malibu fire updates: Fire grows overnight;
celebrities flee Franklin Fire

A fast-growing wildfire that set star-studded Malibu in Southern California ablaze has closed roads and sent residents fleeing as the fire exploded in size overnight while critical fire conditions continue to fuel its spread Wednesday.
The Franklin Fire covered 3,983 acres as of Wednesday morning with 7% containment, according to CalFire. Late Tuesday night, officials said 2,667 had burned. It was fueled by strong Santa Ana winds and low humidity, a dangerous combination prompting red flag warnings in the region through Wednesday evening.
"Fire activity increased significantly last night," the Los Angeles County Fire Department said in a Wednesday morning update.
The flames, which threatened big-name celebrities' homes including Hollywood legend Dick Van Dyke, were now encroaching on an RV park community, officials said Wednesday. The fire department that the fire also "spotted" across the iconic Pacific Coast Highway.
The fire was discovered Monday, just before 11 p.m. local time. The cause is under investigation.
Los Angeles County is one of the areas under a red flag warning, according to the National Weather Service. Areas like Filmore and Santa Clarita are in "very extreme fire danger."
"Be careful with anything that can start a fire," The NWS Los Angeles wrote in a social media post. "Residents in high fire risk areas, keep aware of your surroundings."
