Three issues of national importance are rising to a climax as September 2021 comes to an end: • how much innocent red blood will be shed, • how much red ink its finances can endure, and • how much of a red agenda it will pass.
Sometimes people say things that communicate more than they intend. This week, as part of his efforts to justify yet another increase, Senate Majority Leader Schumer noted Congress has previously raised the debt ceiling about 80 times. In other words, the debt limit has not done much limiting. Now, Republicans have found a use for the debt ceiling: stopping a $3.5 trillion spending bill full of a leftist, trajectory-changing agenda. Leader Schumer has filed cloture on H.R. 5305, the bill to fund the government and raise the debt limit (yes, as recorded on page S6666 of this year’s Congressional Record).
After 48 years of nothing more than a Supreme Court precedent, and in the midst of looming financial gridlock, the House found time on Friday to pass a bill to stain U.S. law with the gruesome bloody procedure of abortion.
Congress has five days to fund the government or extend its current funding and a few more after that to deal with the excess of spending beyond tax revenue. The current majority has made this unnecessarily complicated by attempting to do everything it has wanted to do for at least 20 years all at once.
To average and astute political observers, the timing of these matters coinciding may appear incidental. They are not. God has brought these matters together because as His Word shows, over and over again in the history of Israel, they are directly related. The kings of Israel, especially in the latter days of its monarchy, were measured by whether or not they tore down or built up the high places for evil sacrifices, the then-equivalent of abortion. Whether the reckoning for America comes this week or later, “Don't be deceived: God is not mocked. For whatever a man sows he will also reap” (Galatians 6:7).
Father, in the midst of many complicated issues and complicating factors we have a simple request: Allow and help Congress to do that which is good and honoring to You, and not that which would dishonor You. Turn the trajectory of America to being humble before You.
“And the LORD God of their fathers sent warnings to them by His messengers, rising up early and sending them, because He had compassion on His people and on His dwelling place.” (2 Chronicles 36:15)

11 a.m., Sunday, September 26, 2021
Program for Sunday: House will meet in Pro Forma session at 11 a.m.
From the floor colloquy:
Mr. Speaker, the House will consider several bills under suspension of the rules. …
Mr. Speaker, the Budget Committee has announced a markup for the Build Back Better Act for tomorrow and Saturday (today). (The bill can be filed during Sunday's Pro Forma session.) It is my intention to bring it to the floor next week. This legislation will help move tens of millions of Americans closer to economic security while also making transformational investments in making childcare more affordable, helping Americans access healthcare, and addressing climate change with the seriousness that it deserves and demands.
On September 27, pursuant to the rule passed on August 24, the House will consider the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. This legislation passed the Senate on a bipartisan basis last month and would create millions of good jobs all across America by investing in critical infrastructure. That bill and the Build Back Better America Act are the essence of the vision and program that has been proposed by President Biden, which, as I said, will grow millions of jobs and make the lives of Americans more secure and safer.
Mr. Speaker, if time allows, the House may also consider three bills from the Committee on Education and Labor:
• H.R. 3110, the PUMP for Nursing Mothers Act, which amends the Fair Labor Standards Act to provide workplace protections for mothers to pump breast milk in the workplace.

• In addition, H.R. 2119, the Family Violence Prevention and Services Improvement Act of 2021, which modifies, expands, and reauthorizes the fiscal year 2026 Family Violence and Prevention Services program, which funds emergency shelters and supports related assistance for victims of domestic violence. Mr. Speaker, lastly, there may be additional legislative items as possible and as necessary.
MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 27TH AND THE BALANCE OF THE WEEK
On Monday, the House will meet at 12:00 p.m. for morning hour and 2:00 p.m. for legislative business. Votes will be postponed until 6:30 p.m.

Dear Saints,
A lifestyle of REPENTANCE is so close to the heart of God.
Indeed, He commands us to "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!" Matthew 3:2
How, then, can we approach His Throne of GRACE, in repentance?
We invite you to join us every week on Sunday evening, as we explore this vital topic together. We present a different prayer focus each week, leading us into repentance, so that we might approach His Throne of Grace in repentance, presenting ourselves to Him as a pure and a spotless Bride, without spot or wrinkle. (Ephesians 5:27)
Praying together, we desire to fulfill the mandate of Psalm 139:
" Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties; 24 And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting." Psalm 139:24
You can join us, any Sunday evening, at 10:00 p.m. EST by calling:
712-770-5350

WELCOME!
". . . and if My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
"Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to the prayer offered in this place." (2 Chronicles 7:14,15)
