Schumer Says He'll Support GOP Funding Bill to Avoid Government Shutdown
The minority leader’s support all but guarantees that the stopgap funding bill will be able to pass the Senate.

WASHINGTON—Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) announced that he will support advancing a House-passed stopgap funding bill, effectively foreclosing the risk of a government shutdown.

“I will vote to keep the government open and not shut down the government,” Schumer said in a March 13 speech on the Senate floor.

If the government shuts down, Schumer said, “communities that depend on government services to function will suffer and will suffer greatly.”

He also said allowing a government shutdown would be “a gift” to President Donald Trump and would empower his efforts in reducing the federal workforce and spending.

“As bad as a [continuing resolution] is, allowing Donald Trump to take more power through a government shutdown is an even worse option,” Schumer said.

He said the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and the administration would be granted far greater discretion to determine what constitutes an essential employee. (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

- Lord God, we thank you that the prayers of God's people have been answered, as demonstrated by this commonsense decision announced by Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer. We will, indeed, accomplish more in government by working together than at being "at odds" with each other. Amen!

- "Can two walk together, unless they are agreed?" (Amos 3:3)

21 Attorneys General Sue Over Education Department Layoffs

Officials from blue states allege that enacted and planned cuts to the agency are unlawful and unconstitutional.

New York Attorney General Letitia James and 20 of her peers from other blue states on March 13 announced a federal lawsuit seeking to protect the Department of Education from elimination.

Her announcement was made two days after the Department of Education announced that half of its employees, about 2,000 workers, have so far voluntarily resigned or been laid off and that its offices in other states will be closed as part of ongoing cost-saving measures.

Education Secretary Linda McMahon has previously stated her intent to eliminate the agency under President Donald Trump’s directive and move its functions to states or other federal agencies so that money that would otherwise be spent on the federal department will instead go to classrooms.

The other plaintiffs include attorneys general from Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, Washington, Wisconsin, Vermont, and the District of Columbia.

In a statement, James said the Department of Education is critical to tens of millions of students.

“This administration may claim to be stopping waste and fraud, but it is clear that their only mission is to take away the necessary services, resources, and funding that students and their families need,” the statement reads. (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

- Father God, we are truly saddened to read this report. One has only to look at the data, across the nation, which demonstrates that our students have fallen way behind those of other nations in critical areas like reading, writing and arithmetic. In all other subject areas, our students are woefully behind. We ask that these governors stand down from this foolish action, so that President Trump can pursue His agenda for the well being of our students, and for the
future of our nation. Amen.
- "Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch." (Matthew 15:14)

China to Host Russia and Iran for Nuclear Talks on Friday

China will hold talks with officials from Russia and Iran to discuss Iran’s nuclear program as Washington resurrects a maximum pressure campaign on Tehran.

China’s communist leadership will host officials from Russia and Iran this week to discuss issues related to nuclear weapons development.

The March 14 meeting in Beijing will focus in particular on the issue of Iran’s nuclear development, according to China’s foreign ministry.

Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu will chair the meeting and discuss the issue with deputy foreign ministers from Moscow and Tehran, a foreign ministry spokesperson said during a press conference on March 12.

The meeting coincides with a closed-door gathering of the United Nations Security Council in New York the same day regarding Iran’s expanding stores of uranium that are close to weapons-grade.

The meeting also closely follows an announcement by U.S. President Donald Trump last week that the United States would seek to negotiate a new nuclear deal with Iran to replace the one it withdrew from during Trump’s first term in office.

Trump reaffirmed the United States’ position that Iran should never be allowed to acquire nuclear weapons and said he was open to a new nuclear deal or else might resort to military action. (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

- Father God, we stand united behind President Trump's position that Iran should never be allowed to acquire nuclear weapons and that he is open to a new nuclear deal or else might resort to military action. We stand united on this critical position. Mr. President, we have your back!

We decree that no weapon that is formed against you shall prosper, and that every tongue that accuses you, you will condemn. Amen!

"Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls. as those who will have to give  account." (Hebrews 13:17)

98 Protesters Arrested After Occupying Trump Tower to Demand Release of Pro-Palestinian Activist
The protesters were affiliated with Jewish Voice for Peace, which describes itself as a progressive Jewish anti-Zionist group.

Police arrested 98 protesters on March 13 after they occupied the lobby of Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan, staging a loud demonstration in support of Palestine and against the arrest of Mahmoud Khalil, a Palestinian student activist who led protests at Columbia University condemning Israel’s military response to the Hamas terror attacks of Oct. 7, 2023.

The New York Police Department (NYPD) repeatedly ordered demonstrators to leave before officers moved in, arresting 98 individuals on charges including trespassing, obstruction, and resisting arrest, according to a police briefing.

The protesters were affiliated with Jewish Voice for Peace, which describes itself as a progressive Jewish anti-Zionist group. “As Jews, we are taking over Trump Tower to register our mass refusal,” the organization said in a statement. “We will not stand by as this fascist regime criminalizes Palestinians and those calling for an end to the Israeli government’s U.S.-funded genocide.”

Wearing red shirts that read “Stop Arming Israel” and “Not In Our Name,” demonstrators carried banners with slogans such as “Free Mahmoud, Free Palestine” and “Fight Nazis, Not Students.”

Footage posted on social media by Jewish Voice for Peace showed protesters chanting and clapping as officers systematically removed them from the building.

Videos from outside Trump Tower showed the detained protesters being loaded onto waiting buses while other demonstrators remained on the sidewalk, chanting, “Free Mahmoud!” (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

- Father God, as we read this news, sometimes it seems that the world has gone crazy. The statements and the demands of these protestors make no sense at all . . . we thank You, O Lord, that You died on the Cross and shed Your Blood to forgive each one's sins, so we now come into agreement for the salvation of these unsaved souls. Thank You, O Lord, for hearing our prayer, amen and amen.

- "The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." (I Peter 3:9)

Total Lunar Eclipse Occurred Over North America During Purim
A total lunar eclipse occurred over North America during part of the night from March 13-14, 2025.

One interesting thing about this eclipse is that it is occurring during the feast of Purim in the United States. This feast celebrates the deliverance of the Jewish people from potential destruction in the book of Esther in the Bible. This historic event occurred in the ancient region of Persia.

This eclipse could be a prophetic indicator of an event in the near future happening in the Middle East. Could this possibly involve the United States and Israel taking action against Iran's nuclear program sometime relatively soon? (www.watch.org)

- Father God, two nights ago, believers all around the world were rejoicing, as this moon turned BLOOD RED, knowing that this
was indeed the date when wicked Haman fell and Queen Esther (and her cousin Mordecai) gained the victory for her people. Help us all to seize this moment for ourselves, as a new wind is now blowing across our land, bringing freedom for all. Praise the Lord!

- "Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.

Praise the Lord!" (Psalm 150:6}
