One Correction to our PURIM Edition
Please note the following correction in the first paragraph of Kolyah's article on Purim, which we posted earlier today:
> > > Please add the word NOT, as follows. Thank you!
"Last Sunday, the Israel Knesset voted to withhold certain rights from those Israelis, who do NOT submit to the state’s vaccination program for Covid-19."
Where was the Senate Chaplain on Jan. 6th?
Senate Chaplain reflects on Capitol attack, hopes for healing and unity in the aftermath
ARLINGTON, Va. (ABC7) — Senate Chaplain Barry Black shared his chilling first-hand account of the U.S. Capitol attack with ABC7.
“I knew that there was a very real possibility that I would not get out of the debacle alive," Chaplain Black said. "Yes, I did."
Black revealed that he could see the violent mob approaching the Capitol building from his office window inside the building. He sprinted for his life and said a prayer while he ran to a secure room. “As I was literally running to a secure location I was thinking about how grateful that in my daily cardio workout, I run hills,” Black explained.
On January 7, Black’s prayer closed the joint session of a shaken Congress following the certification of the 2020 election results.
“Use us to bring healing and unity to our hurting and divided nation and world,” he prayed.
> > >
Many under the U.S. Capitol dome, including lawmakers, staffers, and Capitol Police officers, are still coping with trauma from the deadly attack on January 6. Black serves as pastor to all of those groups and said many police officers who were on duty that day have come to him seeking help and answers.
Will I recover from this injury? Why am I feeling so much depression?
Chaplain Black said his non-partisan prayers and four weekly Bible study classes help ground lawmakers in faith. He said faith transcends polarizing party politics and allows him to see a side of the U.S. Senate that the public rarely sees.
“This is actually a kind of unity that believers have something that unites them,” Black said.
> > >Please go hereto read about our Chaplain's amazingupbringing and to view his own prayer as he was running out of danger that day, as well as his thoughts on how the church can unite our country.

God’s Will
The most important moment in Congress this week had nothing to do with a spending bill.
From the false teaching of the Greeks in ancient times, a name carried down through the centuries as a symbol supernatural power: the Titans. As men applied their advances in technology to the seas, a vessel was named after these false gods.
A 1911 issue of Shipbuilder magazine described the RMS Titanic as being “practically unsinkable.” When Mrs. Albert Caldwell was boarding the Titanic in Southampton, she asked a crew member if it was true the ship was unsinkable. He told her—“Yes, lady, God himself could not sink this ship.” (Source)
The U.S. House of Representatives this week passed H.R. 5 which mandates universal acceptance of sexual immorality and specifically excludes any exceptions on the basis of religious freedom.
Section 9 specifically states, “The Religious Freedom Restoration Act of 1993 (42 U.S.C. 2000bb et seq.) shall not provide a claim concerning, or a defense to a claim under, a covered title, or provide a basis for challenging the application or enforcement of a covered title.”
During floor debate on the bill, Rep. Greg Steube (R-FL) explained how he was going to “start with the truth” and spoke from the Scriptures about the actions the House was about to take.
Steube quoted from the Dr. Tony Evans' commentary Bible on the Scripture: “Men and women equally share in bearing the image of God, but he has designed them to be distinct from and complementary toward one another. The gender confusion that exists in our culture today is a clear rejection of God's good design. Whenever a nation's laws no longer reflect the standards of God, that nation is in rebellion against him and will inevitably bear the consequences.”
Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) was managing floor debate for the Democrats. At the conclusion of Rep. Steube's remarks, Nadler responded, “Mr. Steube, what any religious tradition ascribes as God's will is no concern of this Congress.”
That's what our culture believes right now: God is nothing more than a “religious tradition,” and Congress is beyond tired of working around that limitation in order to get its way. “God himself could not sink this ship.”
The Scriptures teach otherwise. Paul asked the Romans, “Will their unbelief make the faithfulness of God without effect?” (Romans 3:3). He could have asked the same about both the “goodness and severity” of God which he mentioned later (Romans 11:22). God is still God and does what He does no matter if people believe Him or not.
Just because man may say God cannot sink a supposedly unsinkable ship doesn't mean it can't end up rusting away to nothing at the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean.
Just because man may say God's will is no concern of this Congress doesn't mean He will not bring about a host of “then they will know” kind of moments like He did throughout the books of Exodus and Ezekiel.
The open defiance of our elected officials against God is nearing its peak. For a time, God did not expel the Amorites from the future land of Israel because their sin was “not yet full” (Genesis 15:16). How near is ours to full? Do we believe God indeed hates the shedding of innocent blood of 60 million unborn children? Do we believe those who protect and promote such actions are in danger of His wrath?
One of the surest signs of men heading to destruction is there being “no fear of God before their eyes” (Romans 3:18). Romans 1 tells us about those who do “not like to retain God in their knowledge” and are “filled with all unrighteousness,” “practice such things,” and “approve of those who practice them.” And now, while they're at it, they're attempting to make it illegal not to approve of those who practice such things because “God's will is no concern of this Congress.”
If there were ever a time to pray for our leaders, for our culture to change its mind about the Word of God, and for a fear of God to fall on this nation, it is now.

Our Weekly Call to Repentance
Dear Saints,
A lifestyle of REPENTANCE is so close to the heart of God.
Indeed, He commands us to " "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!" (Matthew 3:2)
How, then, can we approach His Throne of GRACE, in repentance?
We invite you to join us every week on Sunday evening, as we explore this vital topic together. We present a different prayer focus each week, leading us into repentance, so that we might approach His Throne of Grace in repentance, presenting ourselves to Him as a pure and a spotless Bride, without spot or wrinkle. (Ephesians 5:27)
Praying together, we desire to fulfill the mandate of Psalm 139:
" Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties; 24 And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting." (Psalm 139:24)
You can join us, any Sunday evening, at 10:00 p.m. EST by calling:
712-770-5350
Access Code: 150411#
WELCOME!
". . . and if My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
"Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to the prayer offered in this place." (2 Chronicles 7:14,15)
