Texas Senate Passes Vote Integrity Bill
Democrats Face Arrest Warrants for Fleeing State to Stymie Democracy

Even though state Sen. Carol Alvarado knew she couldn't block the legislation, Alvarado kept speaking on the Senate floor. Just minutes after she put down the microphone, the Senate passed the measure 18-11.

However, the bill is still being stalled since Democrats continue to stay away from the state House of Representatives in a standoff that has now entered the 32nd day.

Civil Arrest Warrants Issued for Texas House Democrats

Alvarado's filibuster began hours after officers of the Texas House of Representatives delivered civil arrest warrants for more than 50 absent Democrats on Wednesday. Frustrated Republicans have ratcheted up efforts to end the standoff over the elections bill.

On Tuesday, the Texas Supreme Court voided a state district judge's temporary restraining order barring the lawmakers from being arrested. House lawmakers again ordered the chamber's sergeant at arms and any law enforcement officer under their direction to round up the missing Democrats "under warrant of arrest if necessary," according to the Texas Tribune

But after sergeants-at-arms finished making the rounds inside the Texas Capitol—dropping off copies of the warrants at Democrats' offices, and politely asking staff to tell their bosses to please return—there were few signs the stalemate that began when Democrats fled to Washington, DC, in July in order to grind the statehouse to a halt was any closer to a resolution.

What Comes Next? Neither Side Knows

The latest escalation threw the Texas Legislature into uncommon territory with neither side showing any certainty over what comes next, or how far Republicans could take their determination to secure a quorum of 100 present lawmakers—a threshold they were just four members shy of reaching.  (CBN) Read more.

Texas Declares Sex Change Surgeries for Minors Child Abuse

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) announced this week that performing sex reassignment surgeries on minors is a form of child abuse.

The governor made the announcement Thursday, after receiving a report from Jaime Masters, commissioner of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services. Masters, Abbott said in a statement, examined “whether genital mutilation of a child for purposes of gender transitioning through reassignment surgery constitutes child abuse.”

In her letter to Abbott, Masters affirmed it is child abuse.

“This surgical procedure physically alters a child’s genitalia for non-medical purposes potentially inflicting harm to children’s bodies,” she wrote. “Generally, children in the care and custody of a parent lack the legal capacity to consent to surgical treatments, making them more vulnerable.”

Masters did, however, note a handful of exceptions.

“It may be warranted for the following conditions, including but not limited to, a child whose body parts have been affected by illness or trauma; who is born with a medically verifiable genetic disorder of sex development, such as the presence of both ovarian and testicular tissue; or who does not have the normal sex chromosome structure for male or female, as determined through genetic testing.”

She went on to state that failure to report suspected abuse within a timely manner could result in a Class A misdemeanor charge, which may include jail time. (Faithwire.com) Read more here.

Justice Amy Coney Barrett declines to block Indiana University’s vaccine mandate
The Trump appointee acted alone in turning down a group of students who argued that the requirement infringed on their rights.

Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett on Thursday opted not to block an Indiana University vaccine mandate, giving no explanation as to why in declining to unravel the school’s rule that students, faculty and staff must get the Covid-19 shot.

Barrett, an appointee of President Donald Trump, is the circuit justice for the 7th Circuit, which covers Indiana. She denied the motion for emergency relief from multiple students who challenged the university’s mandate, acting by herself rather than referring it to the full court.

The university allows exemptions from the mandate for both religious and medical reasons. Notably, seven of eight students who filed the lawsuit had received an exemption or were eligible to get one.

- Father God, we do not understand this decision. We ask for Your hand of mercy to rest upon Justice Barrett as we release a word of forgiveness for her. We ask that the universities will honor the religious exemption that is part of this ruling; or that doors would be opened in many other universities across the nation for those students who still refuse to submit to any vaccine agenda. Have mercy, O Lord we pray, amen.

- (For these students) "No weapon that is formed against you will succeed; And you will condemn every tongue that accuses you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And their vindication is from Me,” declares the Lord." (Isaiah 54:17)
Hottest day in European records, as ‘Lucifer’ anticyclone sweeps through Italy

ROME — Regional authorities in Sicily recorded temperatures of 48.8 degrees Celsius (119.8 Fahrenheit) Wednesday as an anticyclone dubbed “Lucifer” swept in, which if confirmed would be a new Italian and European record.

The blistering temperature was recorded near Syracuse, beating Italy’s all-time record of 48.5 degrees Celcius (119.3 Fahrenheit), set in Sicily in 1999, and the 1977 record of 48 degrees Celcius (118.4 Fahrenheit) at Eleusis in Greece.

A spokesman for Italy’s national meteorological service said the result still had to be validated, while the World Meteorological Organization, which lists the Greece record as Europe’s highest, did not respond to requests for comment.

Elsewhere in southern Italy, the anticyclone was forecast to send the mercury rising to 39-42 degrees before sweeping northwards, with weekend temperatures of up to 40 degrees in the central regions of Tuscany and Lazio, which includes Rome. (Times of Israel) Read more.

Our Weekly Call to Repentance

CHPP Welcomes You to Join Us Every Week in One Hour of Repentance

Sunday evening at 10:00 p.m. EDT
Dial 712-770-5350
Access Code: 150411#

Dear Saints,

A lifestyle of REPENTANCE is so close to the heart of God.

Indeed, He commands us to  "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!" Matthew 3:2

How, then, can we approach His Throne of GRACE, in repentance?

We invite you to join us every week on Sunday evening, as we explore this vital topic together. We present a different prayer focus each week, leading us into repentance, so that we might approach His Throne of Grace in repentance, presenting ourselves to Him as a pure and a spotless Bride, without spot or wrinkle. (Ephesians 5:27)

Praying together, we desire to fulfill the mandate of Psalm 139:

" Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties; 24 And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting." Psalm 139:24

You can join us, any Sunday evening, at 10:00 p.m. EST by calling:

712-770-5350
Access Code: 150411#

WELCOME!

". . . and if My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

"Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to the prayer offered in this place."
(2 Chronicles 7:14,15)
