The End of the Nation of Lebanon is at Hand!

The end of the nation known as Lebanon is at hand. Lebanon is bankrupt, ethnically divided, ruled by Hezbollah, a surrogate of Iran. In just over two years the value of the Lebanese currency has lost 90% of its value. 

There are riots because there is no fuel, no food, no government services, and bank deposits are frozen by the central bank. Jobs and paying jobs have all but vanished.

Meanwhile, the Western nations have stood by and watched Hezbollah steadily increase its power, allowed over 150,000 rockets from Iran to be imported into Lebanon, all aimed at Israel.

Hezbollah, acting as a government outside the supposed government has syphoned off billions until there is nothing left for the people or the Lebanon government.

Effectively today, Lebanon has become a bankrupt surrogate state under the control of Iran’s Mullah’s and their military arm Hezbollah.

The day is not far off when Iran will give the orders for Hezbollah to launch their 150,000 rockets at Israel cities and citizens, and the entire civilian population will be sacrificed on the altar of war by Iran and Hezbollah. Thousands of Lebanese will become refugees, die, or be wounded in the conflict. Sacrificial lambs for the Mullah’s in Iran! 

A tragic ending for another nation that comes under the control and domination of the Iranian Mullah’s.

- Father God, our hearts weep for the precious nation of Lebanon. Once known as the "jewel" of this coast, its capital city, Beirut, is now in ruins, as is the rest of this
land. Lord God, we do cry out for the safety, security and the protection of our
brothers and sisters in Christ in that nation, of whom there are many. Preserve them
O Lord we pray . . . that they might yet tell others of the Good News of Your saving
grace.

Father, we ask that You enter into this situation, protect this land, and restore what
the locust has eaten, and we pray, too, for Israel's protection in this midst of this crisis. In Your Name, Holy One, we offer this prayer, amen and amen.

FOCUS ON ISRAEL

1. Israeli Defense Minister: ‘We are Ready to Act’ to Help Lebanon - Jewish Press
 

Israel stands ready to assist Lebanon and help it through its current crisis, Israel’s defense minister said on Sunday.

Speaking at the inauguration near Metula of a monument to the fallen soldiers of the Southern Lebanese Army, Benny Gantz said that Israel had offered assistance to Lebanon in the past, and was ready to do so again today.

“We are ready to act, and to encourage other countries to extend a helping hand to Lebanon so that it will once again flourish and emerge from its state of crisis,” said Gantz. (Read more)

2. IDF strikes Gaza after Palestinians resumed incendiary balloon attacks - YNET News

Israeli aircrafts on Saturday evening struck several Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip in response to incendiary balloons launched into Israel earlier.
The IDF's Spokesperson's Unit said that fighter jets attacked a weapons manufacturing facility and a rocket launching site in the Hamas-controlled enclave.

Local authorities in the Eshkol Regional Council, which borders Gaza, said at least one fire broke out on Saturday afternoon in the area. An investigator from the Fire and Rescue Services determined the fire was caused by an incendiary balloon.
Since a May 21 ceasefire ended 11 days of Israel-Hamas fighting, Palestinians in Gaza have sporadically launched balloons laden with incendiary material across the border, causing fires that have burned fields in Israel. (Read more)

3. Israel confirms vaccine less effective against Delta variant, eyes third dose - Times of Israel
 

Israel’s Health Ministry released data on Monday showing that the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID vaccine appears to largely prevent hospitalization and serious cases, but is significantly less effective against preventing the spread of the Delta variant of the coronavirus.

According to the ministry, the Pfizer vaccine’s effectiveness in preventing symptomatic COVID-19 has dropped by some 30 percent to 64%, given the spread of the Delta variant. The data shows that during May, when the strain was less prevalent, the vaccine was 94.3% effective.

The Delta variant, which is believed to be twice as contagious as the original strain of COVID-19, is thought to be responsible for 90% of new cases in Israel over the past two weeks. (Read more)

4. Government reaches agreement on six-month extension on family unification law ​- Times of Israel

Israel’s disparate coalition members reached an agreement early Tuesday on a compromise on the contentious Palestinian family reunification law, that will likely see it pass in the Knesset, Interior Minister Ayelet Shaked announced.

During an all-night debate on the vote, which was deliberately extended by the coalition to give it time to hash out a deal with the left-wing Meretz party and the Arab Ra’am party, an agreement was reached to see the law extended by six months instead of annually.

Under the agreement Meretz will vote for the deal along with two of the four Ra’am MK’s,  most likely allowing the deal to squeak through. The vote was not expected before dawn Tuesday. (Read more

5. Why is the Citizenship Law dividing the gov't? - explainer ​- Jerusalem Post

The Citizenship Law, or to give it its full name, the Citizenship and Entry into Israel Law, has exploded into the political life of the country over the last few weeks. But the impact and implications of the measure – and its looming expiration – are not widely known.

The law was originally passed as a temporary measure in 2003 during the height of the Second Intifada and has been renewed every year since.

But it is also a component of the country’s ongoing struggle to deal with the reality of the close connection between Arab-Israelis and Palestinian residents of east Jerusalem and their brethren in the West Bank.

The extreme ideological divergence of the current coalition has meant that renewing the law has become a severe political headache for the new government, and its failure to do so would mean that the law will expire on Tuesday, causing severe embarrassment to Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and the majority of his coalition. 1. Surfside mayor: “Very hopeful we are going to be seeing some miracles in the coming days” - Fox News

Surfside Mayor Charles Burkett says rescue crews are now working in six different locations on the Champlain Towers South rubble pile, resuming their work only 20 minutes after the remainder of the building was taken down in a controlled demolition last night. 

“Heavy equipment is now being able to be employed in the rescue effort where before it was not,” he said. “That is a significant change.” 

“Operations are now moving much faster than they ever have,” he added. (Read more) 

- Father God, as long as these rescue teams keep looking for survivors, we will stand in faith believing for a miracle to come forth. We thank you that researchers in Britain have ascertained that survivors can, indeed, "last" this long until they are rescued, so we place our faith upon YOUR miraculous power, and this report by man. Thank You, O Lord, for hearing our prayer, amen and amen.

2. Federal Judge Strikes Down Ambiguous Tax Mandate Provision in Biden’s $1.9 Trillion Relief Package – The Epoch Times
 
A federal judge issued a permanent injunction on Thursday to block the ambiguous tax mandate in President Joe Biden’s $1.9 trillion COVID-19 relief package.
 
U.S. District Judge Douglas R. Cole from the District Court for the Southern District of Ohio ruled that the tax mandate in the America Rescue Plan Act (ARPA)—which seems to tie the relief fund to the states’ authority to reduce tax—exceeds the Congress’s authority under the Spending Clause due to its ambiguity.
 
The Interim Final Rule (IFR) issued by the Treasury Department intended to clarify the tax mandate “does not cure that constitutional violation,” the judge stated.
“Accordingly, this Court GRANTS Ohio’s Motion for a Permanent Injunction (Doc. 38), and enjoins the [Treasury] Secretary from seeking to enforce the Tax Mandate, 42 U.S.C. § 802(c)(2)(A), against Ohio,” reads the ruling (pdf).
 
The judge also expressed concerns that the tax mandate has breached the separation-of-powers principles laid down by the framers. (Read more)

 
- Lord, we thank You that this judge saw a problem and was able to issue a permanent injunction. We pray that if the Biden administration appeals it, the entire plan will fall.

3.  Supreme Court won’t review case of Washington florist who refused same-sex wedding job, but she has no regrets, she says – Seattle Times

The legal battle of a Richland florist who refused to create wedding bouquets for a gay customer ended this week when the U.S. Supreme Court declined to hear her case for a second time, but the journey was not in vain, she said.

Baronelle Stutzman, the owner of Arlene’s Flowers, said on Friday that the experience has been a godsend and she has no regrets about taking a stand for her religious beliefs.

“We have been extremely blessed throughout this,” she said in a phone interview Friday. “We feel we have won by all the people we’ve met, the examples (of faith) we’ve seen.”

The case began in 2013, when Stutzman refused to provide flowers for the same-sex wedding of longtime customer Rob Ingersoll and his partner, Curt Freed. Instead, Stutzman suggested several other florists in the area who would help them.

“After Curt and I were turned away from our local flower shop, we canceled the plans for our dream wedding because we were afraid it would happen again,” said Ingersoll. “We had a small ceremony at home instead. We hope this decision sends a message to other LGBTQ people that no one should have to experience the hurt that we did.” 

State Attorney General Bob Ferguson filed a consumer-protection lawsuit against Stutzman for refusing to serve the couple, alleging that she was violating Washington’s law against discrimination. (Read more)

4. Billionaire GOP Mega-Donor Funds National Guard Mission to US-Mexico Border – Military.com
The South Dakota National Guard is deploying on mission to the U.S. southern border. And the operation is being funded by a billionaire, not the government, Military.com has learned.
Soldiers will serve on state active-duty orders, meaning that traditionally the state would cover the cost of the mission. However, in this case the tab is being picked up by the private Tennessee-based Willis and Reba Johnson's Foundation.
"The border is a national security crisis that requires the kind of sustained response only the National Guard can provide," South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem, a Republican, said in a statement Tuesday. (Read more)
 
Father, whatever it takes to secure our borders, let it be so. If the proper government can’t or won’t do it, let the states do what needs to be done.

6. America’s Largest Teachers’ Union Votes to Help Members ‘Fight Back Against Anti-CRT Rhetoric’ – The Epoch Times
 
The largest labor and teachers’ union has voted to spread and further the teaching of the quasi-Marxist critical race theory (CRT), which it describes as a “reasonable” and “appropriate” framework for students to understand and interpret America’s past and present.
 
The National Education Association (NEA), which represents more than 3 million employees in public education, on June 30 kicked off its 100th Representative Assembly. During the four-day online convention, the union adopted a measure that would commit at least $127,600 to advance its pro-CRT agenda.
 
According to the plan, the NEA will share and publicize information about “what CRT is and what it is not,” dedicate a “team of staffers” to assist union members who “want to learn more and fight back against anti-CRT rhetoric,” and provide a study that critiques “power and oppression” in American society, including “white supremacy,” “cisheteropatriarchy,” and capitalism. (Read more)
 
- Lord, these are the leftists that are teaching our children to hate one another based on the color of their skin and our nation based on a lie. We take authority over this rhetoric and in the Name of Jesus we command this agenda to die. Hate has no place in our nation, for this nation belongs to the One True Living God!

7. Crestview Towers condo in North Miami Beach evacuated due to unsafe conditions- WSVN
 
The City of North Miami Beach has ordered the evacuation of a condo building due to unsafe conditions. The North Miami Beach Building Department ordered the immediate evacuation of the Crestview Towers Condominium due to unsafe structural and electrical conditions.
 
North Miami Beach City Manager Arthur Sorey and other city officials addressed the evacuation in a news conference, Friday evening. “Being in that building right now is not safe, and that’s our number one concern,” said Sorey. The evacuation comes after the collapse of the Champlain Towers South condo in Surfside and the subsequent push by South Florida municipalities ordering reviews of residential high-rise buildings.
 
North Miami Beach officials launched an investigation and review of all high-rises above five stories to determine whether they are in compliance with the county and the city’s 40-year certification process. A report by an engineer dated Jan. 11, turned into the city Friday afternoon, states the 156-unit Crestview Towers is “not structurally nor electrically safe for continued occupancy.” (Read more)
 
Lord, we pray that You would quickly reveal the true cause of these issues. We thank You that in this case the residents were evacuated in time before a collapse.

8. Biden White House Trying To Stop Narrative Of VP Kamala Harris’ Office As ‘Abusive’ – Daily Wire
 
Following Politico’s bombshell act of journalism last week that featured former staffers claiming Vice President Kamala Harris’ office is “an abusive environment,” the Biden White House is trying to stop a negative narrative from spreading.
 
CNN reported that the White House has gone “into damage control mode” following Politico’s report, which found 22 former staffers, administration officials, and associates who spoke about the dysfunctional environment in Harris’ office.
 
“People are thrown under the bus from the very top, there are short fuses and it’s an abusive environment,” a person with direct knowledge of the situation in the vice president’s office told Politico. “It’s not a healthy environment and people often feel mistreated. It’s not a place where people feel supported but a place where people feel treated like s***.”
 
“The dysfunction in the VP’s ranks threatens to complicate the White House’s carefully crafted image as a place staffed by a close-knit group of professionals working in concert to advance the president’s agenda. It’s pronounced enough that members of the president’s own team have taken notice and are concerned about the way Harris’ staffers are treated,” the outlet added. (Read more)
 
Lord, You know the thoughts and intents of the hearts of all. We bind the tyrannical spirit resident in the VP and all inside the administration.  We rebuke their plans for destruction of the nation.

9. NY Times hit by critics, lawmakers for suggesting US flag is now 'alienating to some': 'Disgusting' – Fox News
 
The New York Times was ripped on Saturday for publishing a piece that suggested the American flag has become a symbol of divisiveness.
 
"Today, flying the American flag from the back of a pickup truck or over a lawn is increasingly seen as a clue, albeit an imperfect one, to a person’s political affiliation in a deeply divided nation," the Times tweeted on Saturday, with a link to their piece, "A Fourth of July Symbol of Unity That May No Longer Unite."
 
In the piece, author Sarah Maslin Nir quotes a few individuals who believe that the flag has become so politicized that they now think twice about flying it outside their homes or businesses. Some people, for instance, have been hiding their patriotic pride in Old Glory after former President Trump's supporters, and conservatives in general, "have embraced the flag so fervently." 
 
"What was once a unifying symbol – there is a star on it for each state, after all – is now alienating to some, its stripes now fault lines between people who kneel while ‘The Star-Spangled Banner’ plays and those for whom not pledging allegiance is an affront," Nir wrote.
 
"And it has made the celebration of the Fourth of July, of patriotic bunting and cakes with blueberries and strawberries arranged into Old Glory, into another cleft in a country that seems no longer quite so indivisible, under a flag threatening to fray," she continued. (Read more)
 
Father, it will never be the American flag that truly unites us, it is only You. Let Your Holy Spirit arise and bring conviction and repentance to this nation.

10. White House does not rule out Medicare expansion via infrastructure reconciliation bill – Washington Examiner
 
The White House will not stop Sen. Bernie Sanders from trying to expand Medicare as part of a possible $6 trillion infrastructure-plus reconciliation bill, according to a top aide to President Joe Biden. That is despite the White House's decision to omit a Medicare expansion from both of Biden's infrastructure plans, White House senior adviser Anita Dunn said Friday.
 
Sanders, the Vermont socialist, wants the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to negotiate drug prices with pharmaceutical companies before reinvesting the revenue to broaden the social welfare program's coverage and eligibility age requirements.
 
"He certainly supports giving Medicare the authority and the power to negotiate drug prices. He also supports the expansion of Medicare benefits to cover hearing aids, eyeglasses," Dunn said of Biden, adding dental to the list. "As well as lowering the age to 60."  (Read more)
 
Lord, we ask that You stop the incredible spending of this administration. Let them be stopped in their tracks, and preserve our economy from disaster.

11. At least 9 Canadian churches set ablaze amid indigenous anger over residential schools – Fox news
 
At least nine Catholic and Anglican churches across Canada have gone up in flames amid a backlash over the country's use of church-run residential schools to forcibly assimilate indigenous children from the late 19th century until the 1970s. 
 
The majority of the church fires occurred on indigenous First Nations land. The recent discoveries of hundreds of unmarked graves at former residential schools within the last month appear to have made churches a target. 
 
Historically, more than 150,000 First Nations children were required to attend state-funded Christian schools as part of a program to assimilate them into Canadian society. They were forced to convert to Christianity and not allowed to speak their native languages. Many were beaten and verbally abused, and up to 6,000 are said to have died.
While it's unclear how the children buried in the unmarked graves died, the discovery of their remains has ignited anger among First Nations communities across the country.

Lord, we pray Your protection for all churches, whether in Canada or the US. Anger and bitterness are erupting around us in many ways – this is just one manifestation. Forgiveness and repentance are the answer to this problem, so we ask for a Move of Your Holy Spirit.

12. 'I want to talk about happy things': Biden bristles at Afghanistan drawdown questions ahead of July Fourth weekend – Washington Examiner
 
President Joe Biden could not hide his frustration with reporters peppering him with questions about the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan ahead of the July Fourth holiday weekend. "I want to talk about happy things, man," Biden said Friday after delivering a jobs update from the White House.

When pressed for a third time about Afghanistan after U.S. forces left Bagram Airfield, the largest military base in Afghanistan, Biden insisted he would not answer any more questions on the end of the country's longest war.

"I'm concerned you guys are asking me questions that I will answer next week," he said. "It's the holiday weekend. I'm going to celebrate it. There's great things happening."
He went on to describe the questions as "negative" before correcting himself and calling them "legitimate." (Read more)
 
Lord, as this man grow more and more bizarre, we pray for Your Mighty hand over our nation.  Let Your grace and mercy bring us hope, and may Your power bring change that is beneficial to America.

13. Pope Francis admitted to Rome hospital for intestinal surgery – New York Post
 
Pope Francis was admitted to a Rome hospital on Sunday to undergo a “scheduled surgery” for a stenosis, or restriction, of the large intestine, Vatican spokesman Matteo Bruni said.
 
The 84-year-old pontiff was suffering from “symptomatic diverticular stenosis” of the colon, a condition that can cause recurrent abdominal pain, bloating and changes in bowel habits, Bruni said.
 
It was not immediately clear when the surgery in Rome’s Gemelli Polyclinic would take place, but Bruni said another statement would be issued after the operation. It is the first time Francis has been admitted to a hospital since his election in 2013, according to Reuters. (Read more)

Consider The Founding Of A Nation

As we celebrate the day of our Independence from Britain, it may be helpful to be reminded of the sufferance of the Founding Fathers and what was going through their minds as they decided to take on the most powerful political and military force on the planet. They said, “A Prince whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a Tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people.” What happens when that “Prince” collectively becomes the Congress and the Executive Branch working in concert with one another toward a world order foreign and detrimental to the people they are charged with representing and to the Constitution they vowed to uphold? What are citizens to do?

The Declaration of Independence is a masterful document that served as the true “preamble” to our Constitution. It begins by saying: “When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation. We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. Parts of US brace for Tropical Storm Elsa's impact

As Tropical Storm Elsa closed in on Cuba Monday morning, tropical storm warnings were expanded across Florida and a state of emergency was in effect for parts of the Sunshine State ahead of the storm's projected U.S. landfall around midweek.

Satellite imagery showed the storm appearing a bit ragged on Monday, several days after it became a Category 1 hurricane in the eastern Caribbean. Still, meteorologists cautioned that Elsa was a dangerous storm.

Elsa, which is predicted to impact Florida and portions of the Southeast as less than one on the AccuWeather RealImpact™ Scale for Hurricanes, is expected to make landfall north of Tampa, Florida, Tuesday night or Wednesday morning. The storm was charging toward Cuba after leaving devastation behind and causing three fatalities across the Caribbean this past weekend. Read More

No building? Guatemalan church still serving

A resilient church in Guatemala has not allowed the pandemic to change their Gospel-centered mission. Despite overwhelming odds and roadblocks, they are serving their neighbors and the outcasts in Jesus’s name with limited resources.

Guatemala has the largest economy in Central America. Even so, chronic childhood malnutrition and food insecurity have plagued the nation. The onset of COVID-19 made things worse, slashing Guatemala’s GDP by 1.8 percent – which translates into lowered personal incomes, retail sales, and industrial production.

So it’s no surprise that churches in Guatemala have also been impacted.

Byron Aguilar, the director of Crossroads Prison Ministries Guatemala, says, “Our churches have been closed during the whole pandemic time. Many of the members of churches here, especially in Latin America, lost their jobs and also lost their businesses.

Even without a physical building, Aguilar’s church is still being the Church.

“More of our budget is allocated for food for the members of our church that are in need,” Aguilar says. “And there’s many more now needing food than before.”

The church members are also financially supporting Crossroads Bible Studies in El Boquerón Prison, one of three maximum-security prisons in Guatemala. “The best is yet to come,” Aguilar says. “The pandemic was not able to stop the advancement of the Gospel.” (Mission Network News) Read more.

Please boldly pray for this faithful church in Guatemala! Ask the Lord to provide a physical building for the congregation. Pray for spiritual encouragement as they support the hungry and needy in their communities and the prison system.

And most of all, pray for many lost and searching souls in Guatemala to find hope in Jesus Christ!

Thoughts for Repentance
There is a parallel today. Those today--- you and me--- who are called to use personal and national repentance to call on God's Mercy based on His Word in 2 Chronicles 7:14, to "hear from heaven, forgive sin and heal our land" resemble those who gathered in Philadelphia in 1776 to declare Independence from Great Britain.

Of course there's a difference. In 1776 those who traveled to Philadelphia were among the best known, most honored public figures in the colonies, notably Adams and Jefferson. Today we are the grassroots intercessors.

But the Word of God is our strength and we are honoring His call on our lives: Happy is the nation whose God is the Lord. Happy are the people he chose for his very own ~ Psalm 33:12 (International Children's Bible). Read More
